It's finally here! The long awaited Route 1 Radio debut is right here for your listening pleasure! Enjoy Jake and I rambling about the first 3 episodes of the original Pokemon series (and occasionally get off topic and talk about episodes that are way in the future). Fair warning as this is our first episode we had very little idea what we were actually doing but if you're willing to bare with us, we figure things out a bit more and slowly start to stay on topic in the next few episodes.

going to start doing something we're going to call Route 1 Radio for now, where Jake and I and whoever else we get on a recording with us, we're going to listen to three episodes or watch three episodes of the main Pokemon series for each episode that we're doing here, and we're just going to talk about them, give our thoughts, and We're going to give you a few fun facts.

Pokéball Alarm Clock Fiasco

First off, let me just say, after the banger intro bit, let me just say, that clock Ash has is the worst clock design I have ever seen.

bump......and it rolls off......the cuckoo clock he has that he throws because it fell in his hand at the one bump. It's a Pokeball. It's a sphere. If it gets moving at all, it's going to keep moving. That's so bad design.

Yeah, I mean, really cool trinket design. Not great for an alarm clock that's actually supposed to wake you up. Yeah. Um... Well, I still don't get it. Why would you even want that kind of design? Like, it looks so breakable, too. One toss broke it i mean, we don't know how hard the toss was.

Unique Starter Pokémon

Also, um I think this is the only series that has this issue. They only have one of each starter Pokemon. Usually, they would have like multiple of the same species and in the labs. no they don't usually have multiple at one time.

Yeah, let's see. Well, so I've got ah something that I thought interesting was that Gary acted like he was meeting Ash for the first time outside Professor Oak's lab when later on they go and explain that Ash and Gary had a very interesting and rivaled with friendship as kids in Pilot Town.

Also, can we say how Gary does not look like a 10-year-old? He does not look like that young. He looks in his late teens. I don't know I'd go late teens, but... He looks like he's like 16 to 15, not 10. Yeah.

And, yeah, also this episode was the first appearance of Misty. Gola and Misty after the Firo attack, which I did not, maybe this is a fact that they don't bring up anymore, but I forgot the fact that the Pokédex roast Ash every time he asked a question.

Caterpie's Struggle in the Pokéball
