john hewitt: All right, we're still alive. This is John Cat coming at you live from the Cat House. This is season two, episode 15 of Waiting for the Players, a Hunt Showdown podcast.
john hewitt: I got a caller coming in live back on American soil. First time a long time. Back fresh from Japan.
john hewitt: The ayatollah of eating Swiss rolls himself. clutch commando. Harrison, Harrison, how are you doing on this tepid afternoon?
Clutch Commander: Good. I wish it wasn't hot as Satan's balls.
john hewitt: Yeah, it's it's either like it's either a thousand degrees or it's, you know, raining. there's There's no middle ground.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of the ass part of the season.
john hewitt: Yeah. We'll launch right into section one since we both have had a lot of shit going on. So we're going to go right into... What's this day of rest shit?
john hewitt: What's this bullshit? I don't fucking care. It don't matter to Jesus. So one of us just got back from an actual trip from Japan.
john hewitt: The other one of us has been taking a fictional trip to feudal Japan. How was your trip?
Clutch Commander: It was nice. it was It was relaxing.
john hewitt: you took the actual You took the actual trip to Japan, just to be clear.
Clutch Commander: Yes. Yeah.
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: yeah For those who didn't put it together.
john hewitt: oh are they I don't know. You never know. It was good. you had a good time.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. it I had a good time. Food was good. Sites were excellent. And the people were nice. And it was. It was.
Clutch Commander: What everybody says it was. The only real big thing that I was shocked on is the temperature was not hot. It was what it is here in the horrible state of Maryland where you can get all four seasons in a day.
john hewitt: Yeah, which you told me that, and I've never heard anything weird about the weather in Japan.
Clutch Commander: The only thing I heard was people say it was hot and it was not.
john hewitt: Yeah, I've always heard like China is abysmal, but I'd never heard dick about Japan.
john hewitt: what have you been classic section one now that your japan trips out of the way what have you been playing since we last got together six months ago okay
Clutch Commander: Uh, so I started playing, new sword art game and I'm really disappointed in it and probably dropping it.
john hewitt: Take off his head.
Clutch Commander: yeah, I wish it was that cool. It's not.
john hewitt: I mean, is it just the gameplay, the writing? Like what's what's not clicking for you?
Clutch Commander: So it's the gameplay. It's very, how do I describe it?
Clutch Commander: It's not open world. You are very much on a linear path for all your missions. And there's not a whole lot of other exploring to do And I'm currently playing it on hard.
Clutch Commander: And i am having a very easy time with the game.
john hewitt: Really? Well, to be fair, that would also piss me off. if like i wanted to like I think it might have been last season or the beginning of season two when we were talking about Pokemon and Nuzlocke runs.
Clutch Commander: Yes.
john hewitt: And I was like, why is there no difficulty in Pokemon? And it would piss me off if like there was a difficulty in Pokemon, i and I tried to jack it up a couple notches to make it more difficult, and I was still just steamrolling.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. That's. Unfortunately what's happening. And it's.
john hewitt: Hmm.
Clutch Commander: Really a kill. Joy for me. Because I really wanted it to be good. And they're adding all this stuff. But at the end of the day, I'm playing it on hard.
Clutch Commander: And I'm more or less mindlessly buddy mashing it like I would a fucking Mario game or something like that.
john hewitt: Hmm.
Clutch Commander: So I did get a bunch of Steam games.
john hewitt: Well.
Clutch Commander: And the one I'm currently probably going to try is Chroma Squad.
john hewitt: Okay. Okay.
Clutch Commander: like four dollars on uh steam right now and basically you are running a tv show except it's power rangers and you leave the station and decide to do it on your own and you start out with cardboard weapons and everything and kind of build your youtube show up uh turn no it's
john hewitt: side scrolling or is it just like a simulator
Clutch Commander: A turn-based strategy game.
john hewitt: so it's kind of like the the or like stick a destiny where it's it's all it's it's like 2d the tiles or the strategy point three stack everybody and nice nice for four dollars I mean even if it sucks it sounds like it's gonna you're gonna get your money's worth out of that
Clutch Commander: Like...
Clutch Commander: Like Tactics.
Clutch Commander: Yes. Yes, like Stick of Destiny.
Clutch Commander: Yes. Yes.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, it's one of those where it's cheap enough. I'm like... A Power Ranger where you're making your own show and everything. So I don't know how in deep it is, but you know, $4, got me. Yeah.
john hewitt: Yeah, i don't know that might get me. I might pick that up at some point. For my so my half of section one, i'll I'll go into the first thing I've been playing since we last got together is I've been knuckles deep into Gosa Yotai.
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: Okay. How are you liking that compared to the first one?
john hewitt: It's kind of apples, and not apples and oranges, but like the fighting itself is a little different because you don't have different stances. You have different weapons. Different weapons come with different like like different attack angles. Like I'm not going to come at you.
john hewitt: right down the pipe with, uh, with one katana the same way I would with the spear. The spear is a big arc or the, the weird like hook chain thing.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: Like certain things are good for certain, certain, uh, oppositions.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: So like you're, you're constantly hot swapping back and forth. Uh, I think the story, while it's, uh, it's not as good as like to Shima,
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: I mean, all the way up to the end, but spoiler spoilers for Ghost of Tsushima when you get fucking exiled off the island.
Clutch Commander: It was good.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: Because, you know, the show gods like, dude, you are a fucking problem.
Clutch Commander: Well, you wouldn't have been a problem you did his job.
john hewitt: 50-50, I think they go in, like, I think if you listen to your uncle by the end of the first one, he does basically say that, like, the only reason that the Huns got a hold of the poison and stuff that they were using on the the general population was because you started using it.
john hewitt: And that, like, tactics that he was using, the general public was starting. So, like, he was almost like a terrorist. He was, like, creating a small terror cell. Meanwhile, the shogun's just like, dude, we're just trying to send samurais over here, bro.
john hewitt: But when you get to Yotai, Yotai is for one, it's another island. So you're not going to run into the same bullshit. Like story-wise, you're not going to run into, oh, this is where the Battle of Such and Such, where Jin Sakai defeated...
john hewitt: Kublai Han or whatever the fuck he is. But what you do get is you find out that like Yotai is a further island where the Shogun does not have power.
john hewitt: So now you have this weird power vacuum of this criminal organization, the Yotai Six, that you, they basically kill your family at the beginning and you hit the ground running because like literally the tutorial level is you're killing the first member of the Yotai Six.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: And then from there, it just sets up the map where it's like, you can go attack this guy. You could do this. You could do that. You could do all the bounties and shit in between, just like you could in the first one.
john hewitt: But like my problem was...
john hewitt: and don't know. I feel like it's good. It's written good by the end. I got emotional by the end. But it's just like...
john hewitt: It's just, I don't know, it loses a little bit of juice by the end because it's literally like you go through hell and then like the last third of the game is literally you're running a gauntlet in the bad guy's castle just to find out he's not, digy they Mario you, your princess is in another castle.
Clutch Commander: Oh.
john hewitt: So then you go to where the bad guy is and you have this knockdown dragout duel and basically if you've leveled up your guy all the way, This chick is prove you pretty much is just going to steamroll through this fucking guy.
john hewitt: it's not that like It's a pain, but it's not that fucking bad. And then once it's over, you can go back to the map, but it's basically told to you in like backstory of you and another character sitting around the the fire where the game ends.
Clutch Commander: Oh, okay.
john hewitt: And then she's like, well... I feel like you left some stuff out of your story and then it flashes back and it says like six months prior before the killing of Shogun Sato.
Clutch Commander: Oh.
john hewitt: And then you could go back to the map and fill in like the last couple of bounties that you didn't do or whatever. But it's it's not bad. I'm i'm not mad. at I'm glad i got it on sale. I'm glad I finished it.
john hewitt: Erica Ishii is kind of a pain in the ass when you see her on some role-playing podcasts.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: But she's she's actually very good in this. she's like she She got awards for portraying Atsu, which she should have, because she does a very good job.
Clutch Commander: Okay. Well, I mean, she's a very competent voice actress. It's just everything else.
john hewitt: They also, in the latest season of X-Men 97, they have her playing Lady Deathstrike in one episode.
Clutch Commander: I bet she's good at that.
john hewitt: it's the voice is exactly the voice of the the direction is exactly the same as Ghost of Yotai, but it fits because they're both like samurai. so it's It's fine.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, OK.
john hewitt: But we're going to jump out of section two because section three is something that we both not mixed results, but I feel like we kind of had a little bit of a time with this. We're going to go into we're going go the section three gameplay. Section four will be our thoughts on the current state of hunt with the event. Spoilers, we kind of like it. So here's section three. What happens? What do you? fuck the stranger
john hewitt: So it does in this game that I want to talk about called the mound, you know, omen of Cthulhu.
Clutch Commander: That happens a lot.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: Uh, we've played a little bit of it. I've played a lot more of it than you have at this point. Cause I played a bunch solo.
Clutch Commander: Yes. How was it?
john hewitt: Oh shit. Incoming call. hey I like the game. It's very like, I think the scope is kind of limited because basically it's all treasure. It's all a treasure hunt.
john hewitt: And it's like, even once you open up the map, shit stays in the same spot. So if you keep picking the same spot to spawn in,
Clutch Commander: OK.
john hewitt: Eventually, you're going to know. like If I spawn in on the beach, I go up this ramp and to the right, there's there's a plant that I can i can pick.
Clutch Commander: Oh, OK. OK.
john hewitt: for like the The treasure may move around from whatever, but like some of the vegetation and wildlife, like you're just going to pick that shit off.
Clutch Commander: You see, I thought that was what was going to happen because every time we spawned at the fort, there was always leather on a desk.
john hewitt: Our fucking that and our guy, we shouldn't have let him pick because I think he was picking some weird shit. Because what I found was for one, if you're picking starter missions, the thing to look for is when you pick a starter mission, you pick your mission. It tells you your equipment. You sign that you sign the fucking deed.
john hewitt: When you go to pick your deployment spot, if there's a white line going from your spot deeper into the jungle, that means there's a potential that there's a fort with a logbook and a logbook that will open up more of the map.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: If you just make a beeline for that fort, because also you can, if you hit the middle button, I don't know if you figured it out yet. You can look at a timer for when the forest is going to go nuts.
john hewitt: And it tells you, it tells you, it tells you which loot everybody, how much loot everybody has on them.
Clutch Commander: I did see the one where
Clutch Commander: Yes, I did see that. I didn't know the timer was also on there.
john hewitt: Yeah. Yeah.
Clutch Commander: Hmm...
john hewitt: there's There's an hourglass in the top left corner, and it says hours hours while jungle is dormant or something. So basically, like if you if if the captain gives you if you sign an agreement to the captain that says, I'm going to bring back $1,200 loot...
john hewitt: And you don't, but you bring back a log book. He's going to give you the business because you didn't bring back the $1,200 in loot, but you're going to open up that fucking part of the map regardless.
john hewitt: So the the name of the game then becomes, do we fuck it Keep in mind, i have not done this successfully yet because i keep getting lost in the jungle.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: but i And I started fucking around picking up shit along the way. But I think making a beeline, opening up as much of the map as you can early, and then...
john hewitt: Also, utilizing the stuff on the occult board, you could buy the medallion. The medallion that lets you, when you smack the side, it'll let you see where the treasure is.
Clutch Commander: Yes.
john hewitt: You could buy that for like 15 tokens. Tokens you get at the end of every run you usually get about 15, so it's kind of a wash.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: Once you've done X amount of runs, you can buy a map. Okay.
Clutch Commander: A map's a fucking option?
john hewitt: yeah
Clutch Commander: Oh, okay.
john hewitt: doesn't do much because, i mean, it it does. It's a physical map. It'll show you what's available for you to traverse. But the place is such a fucking maze.
john hewitt: You get lost looking at the map trying to fucking figure out where you're going. But yeah, and the map is like 30 tokens.
Clutch Commander: Okay.
john hewitt: So like there's resources in there that we weren't utilizing, but also we weren't practicing good like team play because... Yeah, we were all we were bickering with each other and it was there's a whole thing.
Clutch Commander: I don't want to talk about that.
Clutch Commander: Oh, I'm not happy with him.
john hewitt: But but But either way, solo is a viable option as well because I've had the NPC.
john hewitt: If you play solo, you can elect either going alone or you click a tab and it says I'd like to have an NPC join me.
Clutch Commander: Oh. Yeah.
john hewitt: That NPC has fought off a wave of enemies while I looked for a weapon because mine broke. but mp That NPC has picked me up when you're downed.
john hewitt: Your partner has to like pick you up and throw you in the cart, and then the guy driving your loot cart will revive you or take assaults to revive you.
Clutch Commander: yeah
john hewitt: He's done both. The NPC is also, I've died and been collected by the fucking forest and then sent back out as a corrupted person, which basically means you become an NPC and you get to watch your NPC kill your friends.
Clutch Commander: yeah
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: yeah i did that a few times
john hewitt: but We, all of us did because, you know, we had a partner that kept running headlong into danger. So i came back as a corrupted person and PC beat the shit out of me, threw me in the cart, brought me back to life.
john hewitt: Like the MPs. And like, if you check their route tracker, i may be running like a bat out of hell to try and get the log book. He's actively collecting shit. And all I have to do was just whistle.
Clutch Commander: Nice.
john hewitt: And he's like, I'm over here. And I'm like, all right, I know I got a guy at least in the wings if shit cracks off.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: But yeah, coming, I think down the road that we may have more mound content because I do like the mound. i want to see where the game goes as I get deeper in.
john hewitt: But I do like it.
Clutch Commander: mean, I like it.
john hewitt: I i think it's really good.
Clutch Commander: We just we had a guy who didn't understand. Hey, everybody get away from the fucking bridge. They're coming from there and we can't tell who's who.
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: And he hits me in the back when I'm shooting at the bridge.
john hewitt: Yeah. You also can't run face first when you're like melee.
Clutch Commander: as Yeah, so I noticed that you get a kill shot an instant kill shot if you're behind him.
john hewitt: Like some of those guys, if you have a knife, walk up behind them. Like, yeah.
john hewitt: And they don't spawn again. Like if you kill them from behind, they're dead, dead. But if you kill them up front, they will fucking rise back up once the once the fucking force is finished with them.
Clutch Commander: Hmm...
Clutch Commander: okay
john hewitt: but I don't know. I mean, we'll figure it out eventually. We'll play together again. But I mean, for 25 bucks, I think the mound solid seven out 10 game. I'm not going to say it's 10 out of 10, seven out of 10 game. It's very playable. It's very fun. I love the black powder weapons. I think Hunt could probably use some black powder weapons. It'd be pretty cool.
Clutch Commander: yeah it it has a lot of potential that
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: If they keep updating it like Hunt has updated, it will end up a very good game.
john hewitt: Or look at Witchfire on Steam. Witchfire, when it came out, is not the same game it is now. Witchfire has continuously added content, added weapons, added changed gameplay with updates for the better. And Witchfire is a solid RPG extraction shooter, which this is an extraction. There's no real RPG elements to it, but like who knows where it could be in a year or two.
john hewitt: Like this very well could be a year or two from now. Maybe you, your guy is surviving runs through the, through the Island. And then you start taking psychic damage and your guy stands to crack quicker.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: Like,
Clutch Commander: The time before the island goes crazy gets shorter and shorter. Yeah.
john hewitt: you For you specifically, the more your guy fucking, or maybe it goes longer because you've become adapted to to like the weird shit. like I don't know.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: But I think that the the mound is definitely worth your time. like like I'm not one to tell people to go spend money.
Clutch Commander: Oh.
john hewitt: i yeah i'm having a good time with it. I really do like the mound.
Clutch Commander: have seen so many videos of people pulling and having finding a flintlock rifle and it's a stick.
john hewitt: Peanuts playing it.
john hewitt: No, it happened to me. Yeah, it happened to me.
Clutch Commander: Oh.
john hewitt: Yeah, we not the not our our last run before we stop, this will be quick and then we're going to launch it a second before for the last little bit. Our last run, we made it super deep into the pipe and then we were like we we basically fulfilled our contract and we've got to out. And as we're coming back, we basically get bottlenecked with like nine guys, seven, nine guys, something like that.
Clutch Commander: Something like that, yeah.
john hewitt: And all we have is I have a bow and arrow and I have a pistol. Clutch has a crossbow and our third just has an ax or a machete or something. And he's trying to wade through these guys getting shit rocked.
john hewitt: Well, periodically you'll get caught in a fucking eclipse. Yeah. When you get in eclipse, you start hallucinating. Everybody could go invisible. Some people could turn into trees. Weird shit happens.
john hewitt: We all turn into zombies. So as we're all saying, get near the cart, get near the cart. He just starts fucking up Clutch. like Like he is fucking up Clutch like Clutch fried his eggs raw or something.
Clutch Commander: Dude, I was so pissed.
john hewitt: And then between me and Clutch doing the range game, we whittle it down to about like one or two guys. And fucking Leroy Jenkins goes taking off.
john hewitt: So Clutch goes taking off to try and catch him. They both go down. And then I'm trying to fucking seal the deal with one flintlock pistol with one shot.
john hewitt: And yeah, we we all got taken out eventually just because it was unfortunate. But...
john hewitt: Yeah, i've definite i've definitely had the I've definitely had the thing where you pick up the rifle and then you pull the trigger and it turns into a stick.
Clutch Commander: I was so...
Clutch Commander: Yeah, I was so upset that game because we were doing so good. and I'm like, why the fuck you hitting me?
john hewitt: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: he goes, you're not by the cart, you're by a tree over here. and I'm like, I'm still not facing you.
john hewitt: I don't know.
Clutch Commander: I was very upset.
john hewitt: I don't know. I don't know. It's like I said, we were bickering at each other. It's it's it's basically early days of hunt where we would be like, there's a guy over here. And then it would totally dissolve when we start bickering over who's more important.
john hewitt: Are the two of us are over here with a group coming up the hill or like he's fucking off the other way, facing the opposite direction. me Like, yeah, but there's one guy over here.
john hewitt: And then we all just start arguing over like whose fucking shit is Ward Porton. And it's like, yeah, this is this is fucking a bit much.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, I think with a few more times playing, we'll find the appropriate rhythm.
john hewitt: think I think we give it another week or two, let it cool out, then we come back. Maybe a Saturday. yeah but I don't even want to call it D&D night anymore because I don't know if we're ever going to play D&D again. But our Saturday fucking hootenanny, when we get done with that, maybe throw one or two mounds in and we'll see what happens.
john hewitt: And I guess since we're all on the same same scale now, I can start using some of my shit since I have... When you level up a little bit, they give you a little extra supplies.
Clutch Commander: Mmm, okay.
john hewitt: Not much. I think I have basically like an extra knife. Every expedition, I get like one extra knife in the cache so far.
Clutch Commander: Ow, I hate the knife.
john hewitt: But the knife is good if you walk up behind them.
john hewitt: But we're going to go right into yeah get right into the big one.
john hewitt: Okay, we're fucking weeks into this one the walk of death, walk of shame, long long long road home.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. Long walk. The long walk.
john hewitt: current event which has given us some of the most dope ass environments which is the sweet world war one trenches and military bases which to its own fucking uh don't even want to say detriment like they took a big swing by including this weird balloon which is fucking awesome at this point
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: And I'll go on record right now saying this is the most fun I've had with an event in a very long time.
Clutch Commander: I can agree with that.
john hewitt: Like, we usually like to keep it positive. I don't like to bitch. It's very easy to bitch mode and complain. i do it too much in my regular life. So like I've always said, as far as this show is concerned, I like to keep it positive.
john hewitt: I always have fun playing hunt. I will play it alone. i will wait to play it with you two shit stains. But at the same time, like there's times where I'm like, this is fun. And then there's times where i'm like, this is fucking fun.
john hewitt: This is the ladder. Like I'm having a good time fucking running up these, running up these Hills, running through these trenches, fucking turning the valves, filling up the balloon, putting all four crates in.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. We have had some wild humanities at the fucking balloon.
john hewitt: yeah yeah just trying to get shit in a balloon i mean we've also had ones where we fucking killed the boss and then went and fucking stole the balloon from the guy filling the balloon
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: it's uh
Clutch Commander: And We've had just as many where the guy in the bull, you know, the guys at the balloon are just sniping us down.
john hewitt: Yeah, or there's there's two of them with fucking sniper rifles, and the third one just has the machine gun laying down, fucking covering fire.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: And the machine gun. The thing that we always thought would be the downfall of Hunt Showdown is when they introduce an automatic rifle, besides the Advo. And they they they put the...
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: What is this one called? The Titan or... whatever the fuck it is, the weird belt fed machine gun that you could pick up in the military.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. Yeah.
john hewitt: It's fucking nice. You can't refill the ammo when it's empty. It's empty. And if you try and spam it, it'll fucking jam.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, it's very well balanced.
john hewitt: i I think so. it's It's only fire ammo. There's no pen. if but like If somebody's fucking ripping shots, you could just go to cover. like i I really fucking like the i like the balancing.
Clutch Commander: And like that the accuracy is worse than dual wielding.
john hewitt: Yeah. yeah, yeah
Clutch Commander: But it feels better when it feels as good when you hit a shot with it.
john hewitt: Fuck yeah.
john hewitt: It's the way it feels when you fucking rip shots out of a machine gun when you're laying down fire at the enemy.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
Clutch Commander: You know, sometimes it's fun just to sit there and shoot you know shoot down range and just let them know that you're there let them know you're there
john hewitt: Yeah. and the minute The minute you pop sight and you see that there's orange coming in, just start popping some shots in that direction. Let them know. Let them know we see you coming.
john hewitt: Have you looked at the prize tree thing? have Have you seen anything that you're really, really looking forward to?
Clutch Commander: i mean everything there's good i like a lot of the They're getting better with the animations.
john hewitt: Yes. Yeah. I like the one for the sword. The sword animation real cool where you're balancing it on your fingers.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: I like that. I like the, the skins also have really stepped up this, uh, this, uh, campaign or event everyone.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. Whatever we're calling it.
john hewitt: Yeah. I think all the red, white, and blue shit I love cause you know, I love America. I think it's flawed. Like we have problems like everywhere else, but I do like America. So red, white, and blue is kind of a brand.
john hewitt: But, uh, I also love the fucking weird machete skin that we got that just looks like it was fucking welded together in somebody's basement.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: It's just like metal. It looks like a fucking lawnmower blade.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, it definitely looks like something, you know, we tried to make ourselves.
john hewitt: it's what It's wild.
john hewitt: Yeah, it's got Ash Williams energy for sure.
Clutch Commander: Yeah. Yeah.
john hewitt: We're kind of circling the drain here. i don't want us to get into so to repeating ourselves, but are you going to be watching any of the Twitch drops? I've i've kind of fallen off myself.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, i I used to watch them all the time and I've kind of fallen off a little bit. They were kind of less... I don't know. They're they're cool, but it's not like... I don't know.
Clutch Commander: It's hard to put it on and watch it or have it in the background. and you know I just forget a lot of the times.
john hewitt: also It's also like the prize support these these past few have been like, it's all shit from previous Twitch drops. So it's like if you got them, you got them.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: And I'm like, I love Kurti. I'm not giving Kurti fucking 90 minutes of my day for the next two weeks to make sure I get skins I already have.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: her
Clutch Commander: Yeah, it's it's cool, but i it's not what I wanted it to be.
john hewitt: I think they're fine for new players. They were great when we started out. I mean, we could watch, we could get some free shit and step it up and new players can watch and learn and pick up some tricks and they can get some cool shit.
Clutch Commander: well, yeah.
john hewitt: It's just, that don't know. As far as I, like I might watch it to give the boys and girls a little bit of support, let their fucking, their you know, their watch tickers go up and they get a little bit of Twitch money. But at the same time, I'm like, as far as prize support goes, I'm just, I'm not feeling it.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, you know, it's good. i like that they're they're trying to give everybody a shot at getting something, but i don't know. I wish it was a little more or something different, you know?
john hewitt: Or exclusive.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: Like back in the day, that was the whole thing. Like Billy, Billy was like a Twitch drop, early Twitch drop. And you just couldn't get them any other way until they've kind of brought them back.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, but now it's, you know, everybody has it
john hewitt: Yeah. a I'll leave with this. We're 30 minutes in. This will be my final thing. Twitch drops might not participate in. I do love these new story additions where it's basically like small...
john hewitt: small quest logs that fit in. Like you finish your weeklies and then you can kind of tackle these. Uh, but that's a place where they're putting previous, uh, drops and stuff or stuff from previous campaigns that like new players might not have gotten, or we might've missed out on some of that stuff showing up in these new story missions. Yeah.
Clutch Commander: Yeah, I haven't done any of those, but I feel like I should.
john hewitt: think you've done more of them than you think, because every once in a while we'll complete a game and it'll just be like prize support, prize, like here's all your prizes.
Clutch Commander: okay.
john hewitt: And you're like, why am I getting prizes for 20 minutes? Well, it's because you're, you killed five people with, you know, a penny Derringer. And that was one of the, that was one of the challenges or one of the other story modes that you've, that you have running concurrently.
Clutch Commander: Fair.
john hewitt: So I feel like we've done more of them than we think. But then it also, like some of them, they want you to pay blood bonds to like activate them. So it's also like, it's still kind of a cash grab on their end.
Clutch Commander: Yeah.
john hewitt: But it's 30 minutes. We're kind of circling here. We're stammering. do you have anything to add on our way out the door, Harrison? It's good to be back.
Clutch Commander: It's great to be back. No, I mean, we might have more to talk about with the mound coming up, but and that's that's all I really have for today.
john hewitt: Yeah, I would definitely love to do more mound content. I want to take a minute and I want to thank our legendary hunters. We're talking about the boys over at Hunt Banish Extract. We didn't fucking forget about you and we haven't left any anywhere. We're not leaving you holding the bag. You're not the only hunt podcast.
john hewitt: We're still kicking ass with you. We're talking about the Ponytail Palm. We're talking about our guys, the Bugatti Mercs and my buddy, the Worst Ever. uh two streamers go check them out they're really good we're talking about tech hunt we're talking about alice olson we're talking about michael douglas jones mitchell gertz rat 329 you son of a bitch we're talking about rexnor rocked uh cd low it's cutest goddamn babies i've ever seen malcolm glenn post malone you rap bastard uh
john hewitt: Great work over there Richard's Figures, Nitronate, Taco Man, Manor Von Velt, OG Gamer, all the folks over at Hunt Showdown Memes, Hunt Showdown Clips, and all you cute bitches over at Crytek.
john hewitt: Yeah, we'll try and make this more frequent. I say it every time. We're trying to get back on track. But realistically, if we don't have anything to talk about, I don't want to be wasting your time.
Clutch Commander: True. True.
john hewitt: Yep. Harrison, you've said your final goodbyes. not going to ask you again, so I will just leave everybody with stay cool these summer months.
john hewitt: Remember, America's 250 years old. We're getting kind of getting kind of big for our britches. But yeah, I want everybody to remember you might be having a three-star life, but I hope you have a six-star week.
john hewitt: Take care of each other. We'll catch you on the next one. Out.
