Okay, so it's been a few days since the very disappointing elimination of the Azzurri. They again will not be featuring in the World Cup. And the status

of Roberto Mancini has been really the thing most discussed in these recent days. Nima, what do you think about his status? Should he continue with the national team? Should they look elsewhere?
00:00:37
Speaker
For me, given the very few viable options, I think you need to allow him to continue. Yes, it is extremely disappointing. Yes, 99.9% of the time you sack the manager who is not able to carry you to a World Cup that you were expected to make without issue. But he won the Euro just seven months ago. I think that has to be taken into consideration. Yeah.

I hope Roberto Mancini continues. I really do, because I think he's the right person. I really do.

Speculation on Mancini's Resignation

I don't think he wants to. You see, I always, I was always of the opinion that he was going to resign after the World Cup anyway.

And who do I think should take over? I mean, let's talk about that. Personally, I think Gasperini or Carlo Ancelotti.

I think Ancelotti is in the right age, but I think given that Real Madrid are doing the whole rebuild with Galactico and he's actually doing pretty good there, I think he's going to stay on because to win another Champions League, which I think can actually happen. Not this year, but next season when they bring in the Hollands and the Mbappes and all that. If you can't get him, I think Gasperini is, I've decided over the weekend, who I think should replace Roberto Bancini. I think his champion is Gasperini.

simply because I look at that squad and we're going to go through that squad player by player and how he has adapted and the football he plays and he's the coach that has done the best in Europe playing the most progressive football, high pressing, aggressive football. So for me, I think Gasperini is the number one choice just based on the squad and the natural continuation.
