Driving CX in the auto industry, with Jeff Curry and Len Devanna

This episode was recorded on the morning after the 2024 US election. Historians may just have a few things to say about it in years to come. One reflection will no doubt be on the impact of images and videos on the campaign. Whilst we’ve had several social media elections now, this was perhaps the first one where social media was combined with the power of AI to deliver visual content. About 40% of Americans will get cancer in their lifetime. We all know someone who has lost their life to this awful disease. Given its prevalence, and its devastating impact, you’d think the healthcare system would do everything it possibly could to ease the burden on patients. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. In fact, navigating complex cancer treatment can be a nightmare for people who are already at a low ebb.

Brian Graziano did not think that was good enough. Brian is the Director of User Experience, Revenue Cycle, at Providence Health, a not-for-profit US healthcare system. Brian and a team at Providence-Swedish have employed user experience design to transform the experience for patients at cancer centers, and the results have been remarkable.

Stop outsourcing your AI agenda, with Rik Reppe

It feels like AI can now write anything for us and create anything for us. In some respects it’s exciting, but it’s also scary, and it raises a depressing question: will AI kill creativity?

There are few people better placed to answer that question than Polish-American artist Agnieszka Pilat. Agnieszka is the Silicon Valley elite’s favorite artist. Intelligencer magazine has called her the court painter of the potentate’s of Silicon Valley, including Elon Musk, who has twice invited her onsite for an artist residency at SpaceX.

She is best known for her work with Spots: dog-like robots designed by Boston Dynamics, which are more usually used by mining companies or militaries than by artists. In her own words, “Machines are humanity’s children. I am just giving them a page in a family album.”
