The village refused to cooperate, witnesses fell silent, and even Scotland Yard admitted the case felt… different. Alison DuBois — The Medium Behind Medium

We then explore the real-life woman who inspired the TV series Medium. Alison DuBois claimed she could communicate with the dead — and repeatedly provided details in police investigations that allegedly led to recovered remains, cleared suspects, and insights into active serial crimes. Her most disturbing involvement surrounded Phoenix’s Baseline Killer, where her warnings about the killer’s psychology and escalation eerily matched what would later unfold.

Story 1: The Lost Voices of Saint-Jean-de-Dieu (Montreal, Quebec)

A Canadian nightmare hiding in plain sight: a massive psychiatric institution with decades of overcrowding, cruelty, and tragedy, including the 1910 fire where women were trapped behind locked doors. We explore the historic horrors, the whispered local lore, and the chilling reports that followed: shadow figures, smoke smells, sobbing voices, beds indenting on their own, and sightings of burned “patients” wandering corridors long after the flames went out.

Story 2: The New York Zodiac

Not that Zodiac; the lesser-known killer who terrorized New York with a crosshair symbol, letters, and a supposed cosmic “plan” tied to Zodiac signs. We track the shootings through the early 1990s, the strange timing patterns, the task force that formed to catch him and how the case was finally cracked through an unexpected domestic incident that revealed a very real man behind the mythology.

Then: The Real Killer Behind Scream.

In 1990, college student Danny Rolling murdered five students in Gainesville, Florida—crimes so brutal they paralyzed an entire town. His taunting phone calls, voyeuristic stalking, and theatrical crimes inspired screenwriter Kevin Williamson to write Scream—the movie that changed horror forever.
