In this episode I meet Kevin Casey, volunteer, trustee and founder of the Diving Museum in Gosport. We talk about the journey from establishing the museum as a group of volunteers, through redevelopment and professionalisation. A great insight into the commitment and determination you can find within small, volunteer run museums.

Make me a museum... that has a vision and sticks to it

In this episode I meet Lizzie Dunford, Director of Jane Austen's House, in Hampshire UK - the final home of world famous novelist Jane Austen.

Listen in to find out how effective use of social media has helped Jane Austen's House to increase visitor numbers and generate income without selling out their values or putting the collections at risk. We  also talk about the impact of the pandemic, extending curation outside the museum and  taking time out to think, plan and create flow charts!

Recorded in April 2025.
