Beat Motel is a music podcast by Andrew Culture & Dr Sam Page. Music chat, gonzo-style gig reviews & fun sh*t for freaks & geeks. Alt music & comedy zine.

Andrew, an award-winning public speaker, and Dr Sam, a clever mind, host the podcast. It reflects the spirit of a punk zine, covering mostly metal, jazz, electronica, and country. Each episode revolves around a theme, with both hosts picking four tracks to discuss, playing 30 seconds of each. There's also a 'riff of the week' segment.

In addition to themed episodes, there are live gig reviews and occasional special episodes. Beat Motel Zine aims to blend laughs with punk, metal, and offbeat music, exploring the funnier side of bands and alternative tunes.

Episodes are published at least once a week, categorized into themed episodes every Monday and live gig reviews published post-events. This alt music podcast, born from the DIY scene, delves into the fringes of the musical world with a punk rock attitude.

Suggestions for new themes are always welcome.

Originally a printed zine run by Andrew Culture with about 30 regular contributors, Beat Motel was A5, 80 pages long, and had a word count of over 80,000. Each of its 400 copies were sold and traded worldwide. However, due to economic factors, including the climate crunch, it transitioned into a podcast in early 2023.
