Coventry come away from Spurs with no points but plenty to talk about: a frustrating defeat, yes, but also a performance that felt like proof this side can now compete in these games. We break down the shape, the game plan, and the key moments, including where Spurs were given too much room, before getting into the big selection calls up front and what Sims’ role is really meant to be. There’s praise for Thomas-Asante setting the tone with his intensity, concern over the lack of attacking output from the bench, and a bigger conversation about standards across the squad. We also dig into the midfield balance and where Hamer fits, ask whether he and Rudoni can coexist with Onyeka or Yirenkyi behind them, debate the refereeing and Spurs’ second goal, and discuss why Rushworth needs backing as much as scrutiny. Then it’s on to Fulham, possible openings in that game, predictions, and why this run before Christmas already feels massive.

More Competitive but a missed opportunity? Spurs Loss Shows Coventry Are Getting Closer – But Fulham Demands More

Coventry beat Newcastle, and we break down how they did it: chaos, a constant threat on the break, and getting through long spells without the ball. We go through the midfield, where Grimes stood out and the shape finally started to make sense, and ask whether this reactive setup is the template for the season. We also argue about the wide players, including Sakamoto's case to start, talk strikers and why staying up may depend on goals coming from all over the team, look at what the win means for the table, praise Foonie, Bobby Thomas and Pinnock, and give our predictions for Spurs.
