Michael is the Deputy Managing Director for Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (oTIS), where he leads the staff in developing strategies and implementing policies to build safe and equitable multi-modal systems across Philadelphia’s diverse and vibrant neighborhoods. ACT Council Spotlight Mini-Series: Technology & Innovation Council

ACT Council Spotlight Mini-Series: Vanpool Council

On this week's episode of Between the Lines, we chat with Leo Frachet [https://www.linkedin.com/in/leofrachet/].

Leo is the co-founder and Executive Director of MobilityData [https://mobilitydata.org/]. He spent five years at Transit [https://transitapp.com/] as a data lead, where he worked on ingesting and cleaning General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) data. After running into many challenges, he made it his mission to resolve data quality issues and joined Rocky Mountain Institute's Interoperability Transit Data initiative [https://rmi.org/insight/interoperable-transit-data/], which brought together stakeholders from across the industry to collaborate on developing solutions to the GTFS challenges. This project ultimately spun off into MobilityData, a stand alone international organization based in Montréal, Canada, which has brought together stakeholders on the five continents to continue to improve, refine, and expand GTFS and the General Bikeshare Feed Specification (GBFS).

ACT Council Spotlight Mini-Series: Telework & Alternative Work Arrangements Council

In 2019, global emissions hit an all-time high and projections put us at a terrifying high line of 3.5 degree temperature rise by the end of the century. But the global pandemic may have been a turning point. New green recovery policies have the potential to decrease our 2030 emissions by 25% and put us on a new line that limits temperature rise to that critical 2 degrees. But what does the journey Between the Lines look like? Achieving these goals will require innovative solutions in every sector of our economy, but none may be more challenging and impactful than personal transportation.
