Thru hikers and slow lifers Mandy "Veggie" Redpath and Kevin "Karma" Savage call in from their van to talk to Doc about the magic of desert hiking. Settle in and buckle up as Veggie and Karma cover some serious miles in the conversation, including stints on the importance of umbrellas, pee shields, the Sunday afternoon Dad Look, gear videos to yourself, postholing in Arizona, crypto biotic soils, alkaline water sources, the AZT, the GET, and the Hayduke. Oh, and there's the incredible tale of events that led up to a chance first meeting between the two in the middle of nowhere while hiking opposite directions on the CDT. Unforgettable.
