Kill Lincoln are one of leading ska bands in this current era of ska. The wildest member of that band is their trombonist, Ume, who is often filmed playing his trombone on a ladder or while floating on the crowd. Today we learn Ume’s story.

Ume discovered ska in Japan a few decades ago. He eventually started his own group, Cutie Pi and developed a following. They even came to California for a month to try to get some shows. (And got a few). Eventually, Ume moved to Washington DC. He played in the ska cover band Party Likes It’s… and then joined Kill Lincoln in 2017.

There’s so much more to Ume’s story and we tell it all, from playing with MU330, to singing a song Mike Park wrote to breaking his tooth on stage, and still continuing his tour.

Plus, we talk about the very important organization, Ume Safety Crew. Be sure to grab a copy of the new Kill Lincoln record, No Normal. It will be released on Sept 27 on Bad Time Records.
