As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad.
Our next guest, Rick McSorley, comes to us from a former QB DadCast guest, Alex Hein. Rick is a father of two, a husband, a current sales rep at SalesForce Industries, and a former athlete at Richmond. Both of Rick's children are very successful as his daughter is in law and his son, Trace is a current Quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. Trace was also a standout at Penn State University
As you will hear, Rick grew up with in Staten Island and then moved to Florida . Rick's mom was his hero, and has memories of his father before he tragically took his own life. #Loyality, #Discipline, and #Family are all key facets of his family and his parenting style. Rick shares the journey of NCAA recruiting for his son, and also discusses some of ups and downs. One of my favorite stories in this episode is when Rick's daughter was there to support Trace after a tough loss against the University of Pittsburgh.
We talked in depth about being a great teammate, the impacts of the transfer portal, and why staying neutral is so important. This is one of the key skills we teach at Limitless Minds! One additional thing that I loved about this episode was how Rick and his wife always instilled positivity in their kids. He says to always keep their kids tank full! He would always say, Why not you....Why not now? So good!
