Introduction and Recap

00:00:09
Speaker
D20 radio, your game is roll.
00:00:26
Speaker
Hey, everyone. Welcome to the latest episode of Everon Renewed. I just want to take a moment here at the top of the episode to apologize. I did not realize until I went back to edit the audio that there were some issues with Randy's mic early on in the episode. We did get them resolved about five to seven minutes into the episode. But prior to that, I tried to recover his audio as best I could. It doesn't sound phenomenal. But once we actually get into the episode and the action kicks off,
00:00:53
Speaker
You can hear Booyah fine. You can hear Randy. It's just early on there were some issues. So once again, just wanted to apologize, let you all know what's going on. And hopefully you enjoy the episode. Welcome to Eberron Renewed, a D&D fifth edition actual play podcast set in the Eberron campaign setting. I am your dungeon master, Eric. And I'm Philip. I'm Jeff. And welcome to another episode of Eberron Renewed. Gentlemen, what happened last time? We were chased by T-Rexes.
00:01:21
Speaker
It's true. Yeah, really, I don't know that even we could say we were chased by them as much as we managed to hide from them as they ran past. Yes. But there were definitely T-Rexes. I think that's the important part. Yeah, five of them in a pack. Uh-huh. And I'll be really honest, it's been a while since we recorded it. I do not remember how or why we found out about these giant ruins, but that's where we

Encounter with Emerald Claw

00:01:44
Speaker
went. Drakir knew where they were. Okay.
00:01:47
Speaker
Yes. And now we wrap on a small group of, I believe, Emerald Claw that were headed in that same direction. Yeah. I mean, they went into the ruins as well and they went into one door and we went into a different door. And we found, uh, Prince Orgiv. Yes. Surprise. And we learned that his dragonborn bodyguard, uh, Barasha,
00:02:13
Speaker
is being taken somewhere else in the ruins so the Giants can try something on him. Right. And if I remember correctly, the situation we are in now is we are inside of a room with Prince Orgev recently released and immediately outside of the room is a sleeping giant. Is that right? Correct. Okay. And we have a tenth of these people. So I guess we're ready to go.
00:02:42
Speaker
OK, yeah, you all are in the room. You have released Orgev from his bindings in his cage. What are you all going to do? You got a sleeping giant outside behind the door ready to eat.

Stealth or Combat with Giants?

00:02:58
Speaker
Well, I can't remember tonight. I didn't take the keys from the giant, did I? Or did I? You did. OK, thanks. So we have his keys. Yes, that's all I got in that room. Oh, cool.
00:03:10
Speaker
Hey fellas, I say we just set this. Is there only one exit from the room? Yes. You guys just want to set this tent up and cause a ruckus? Let him run in here full war and- Okay, is the tent giant sized? No, because it'd have to- I mean, fire giants are like 18 feet tall, so he could probably crawl into it, but-
00:03:35
Speaker
Throw it over his head. That will require some checks. Wait, how tall are you? Like ankle height on him? You know, stealthily without waving him. Okay, probably not a good idea. I was going to say, so the plan is for you to climb up the giant and try to put a tent over his head. Alternatively, we start at the bottom. Even if he only loses a couple of feet, it's going to slow him down. That's strictly speaking true.
00:04:06
Speaker
That's kind of my M.O. I don't know what, I mean, obviously we just need to try to sneak out, right? I could kill the giant. Yeah, but with one shot. The giant's sleeping. Well, until he gets hit the first time, then he wakes up. I don't know if you guys know that we're not actual real people. We're in a game where even if you slash his throat, he may not die immediately.
00:04:38
Speaker
Uh, Dracure looks sort of witheringly at Booyah, um, and forms one of the shadow blades in his hand. Well, I mean, I suppose if we all, uh, all tried to get a shot in real quickly at once, we could probably take him out before he had a chance to sound the alarm, huh? And drag him in here.
00:05:02
Speaker
If you wish to try to move through the ruins without alerting anyone, we can try. But, eventually, we will be detected, I think. Yeah, no, you're right. We got this thing still on us from what boo y'all hear for like another, how long? The tent? No, the shadow. Oh, the shadow.
00:05:26
Speaker
Yeah, I jumped in the tent, kind of a dingus. Sorry, my mind split. He cast it about, I would say, 10 minutes ago, so another 50 minutes. Okay. I mean, so that's a lot of time to run around. But again, I think you're right. I think if we all take a shot at this guy once before he gets a chance to scream or fight back, we might be able to take him out, throw him in here, and at least remain. They'll know someone's here, but we also know someone else is here too. We can hopefully see if we find them first.
00:05:55
Speaker
Booyah cast the spell, it was on us. So Orgev, he will not be part of that spell. I believe it's a range, isn't it? Isn't it kind of a horror thing? Yes, you know what? Yeah, that's right. You said, because you said we had to stay within like 30 feet of you or something. Yes, that is correct. So I guess that would work good. Well, in that case, we can just drag that dead giant around with his everywhere, nobody will see him. Are we?
00:06:25
Speaker
I do not think that's how it works. All right, fine. Let's go. OK, I'm with you. Let's go get them. You all knew something as you say, let's go get them. You hear heavy footsteps approaching from out in the hallway. What's what's in the room besides the cell? Obviously, I'm talking things to hide in.
00:06:53
Speaker
There's a couple of burlap sacks, a few crates that you could maybe fit in if you squeezed real tight, except for Booyahi could fit pretty much in any of them. Okay, we go hiding back. They don't see us. It's dim lighting. Excellent. They don't see us anyway. It's dark. They come in, see everybody gone. Put the prince back in the cage. Everyone hide.
00:07:21
Speaker
All right, so OK. Well, we're not actually in a field of darkness. You've cast pass without a trace, right? Yes, that doesn't actually block line of sight.
00:07:35
Speaker
Well, that's not fun. It just gives us a bonus on stealth checks, which will be very helpful here. Right. Yeah. We can't just stand in the middle of the floor and not be seen. Right. So really quickly, Orgev gets back in and Dex goes in with him and I assume one other person to get him fake, convincingly looking bound up again because he had a hood on and he was bound and we need to get that back on him. So. Hmm. Can I use?
00:08:06
Speaker
minor illusion to create the appearance that he's bound. Sure. Oh, what happened? Eric sort of reaches out and the shadows in the room sort of coalesce around or give so that he appears bound and hooded again.
00:08:27
Speaker
Okay. And then Beric melts into the shadows by a wall. And Booyah takes the hide action. Dex shrinks down to as small as he is physically capable and crawls into a something. So I'd be the size of a dwarf. So probably one of the crates. Booyah, are you hiding in a crate or a bag? I mean, these things aren't empty. So are you emptying them? What are they full of?
00:08:53
Speaker
General stores, grains. What I don't, I dump a crate full of grains into the devouring tent and jump in. OK, is the room lit by like wall sconces? There's a single torch by the door. OK, trick here will climb up. Onto the wall sconce, because it's like above where a giant will be, right?
00:09:24
Speaker
Yeah. OK, I want to hide in the in the corner of the sconce, essentially. OK. Behind the crate. Yes, behind the crate. OK, so you you all here as you're preparing yourselves as you're throwing the grain into the tent decks, you hear a very loud, a very loud thud and somebody go, you're sleeping on duty.
00:09:48
Speaker
I'm deck stifles a laugh. Sorry, I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. Where are your keys?
00:10:03
Speaker
prisoner and you hear shuffling and the door swings open as two giants with dark skin and fiery red hair and beards enter the room and begin looking about and they see Orgev bound

Giant Battle Strategies

00:10:24
Speaker
in the cage. What's the DC to see through your illusion?
00:10:29
Speaker
Well, it would need to be like close inspection. OK, but it's a 16. OK. Drakir places during the first round that they're in here, Drakir places his slayers eye on. Are they essentially equivalent? Is there an obvious like one outranks the other?
00:10:55
Speaker
Um, one of them has a, yeah, the, the one that you didn't see sleeping in the hallway is clearly the more important of the two. Um, you know, when they open the door, that tent is right there. It is. Yeah. We set the tent. Oh, we're so boned. Wait, no, we ended up sending the tent. We did set the tent up in front of the door in case anybody opened it.
00:11:20
Speaker
to try and get them to... to try and get them to get launched. I thought we said that, but then you said, if the door's not bit, the tent's not... The last episode, you set it up. Yes, we did. Why didn't you tell us then, hey, that it's not a giant-sized tent? Um, so they... Christ, so we're... Yeah, we're both... Throw the tent to the side. Well, it was a bigger than normal tent. It was a... Because I said that you could conceivably drop it over a giant's head, which a normal tent you cannot, but... Right, right. So, yeah, they pick up the tent and cast it aside.
00:11:49
Speaker
and begin looking about. So stealth checks all around. Plus ten plus ten. Thirty three. Nineteen. Twenty nine for Beric and twenty eight for Drukir. Actually, barracks invisible, so it's not really relevant. Stupid. And I rolled very poorly. Anyway, I still put Slayer's Eye on the higher ranking looking one.
00:12:14
Speaker
And then if there's a second round, I also put Hunter's Mark on him. So the Giants throw the tent to the side and the higher ranking one says some. Who put this tent in here? I don't know.
00:12:28
Speaker
Look around. And Booyah, you get a little skittish when they start getting close and you shuffle back and there were some, there was a bag of vases for no good reason just on the crate behind you and it falls over and shatters. And one of the giants grabs the crate that you're behind and throws it back and you're just sitting there. So initiative. Stupid bag has been nothing but trouble.
00:12:59
Speaker
Thirty. Twenty five for here. That is a. Two. Twenty one. And for Berwick, a twenty. I wish I could have went first. As you guys are all hiding, they don't know you're there.
00:13:22
Speaker
Well, they don't have to act. Well, that's true. Is there something you're going to be able to do? Well, I thought I might try to escape and.
00:13:31
Speaker
leave them on a wild goose chase wild goblin chase yes okay so Dex you are up first and I'm in a box you're in a box how far am I from the nearest one I mean it's a very small room it was a giant closet so full move action to hop out of the box I could still get one of them with my ribbon wave yeah all right the one that is immediately threatening um Booyah attack him that is a 15
00:14:02
Speaker
15? Yeah. Um, that is a miss. Cool. Well, at least I know where I am now. Booyah. Um... Booyah looks startled, obviously, and... He's going to, um...
00:14:31
Speaker
If I, can I disengage and have Booyah try to run through their legs to get out? I would say yeah, that can be your full, your action. Yeah. Okay. So he's going to bolt and try to go between their legs and out the door. My mistake. Sorry. You find 10th.
00:14:50
Speaker
Okay, since you use the disengage action, there's no roll or anything. I mean, these giants are big enough to where Booyah can easily... And he weaves between their legs and he shoots out the door. So what just happened was Dex jumped out to defend you and he ran away? Yeah, he's a goblin.
00:15:08
Speaker
And he and he yells as he runs out. You're supposed to put. Oh, God, you're here. I want to Assassin's Creed these guys. OK. So since I was unseen and there, you know, they barely miss a card. And since they're looking down at a little goblin thing, scrambling around on the ground and recures up in the sconce, can I. Do I have disadvantage on my leaping attack?
00:15:38
Speaker
Um, I would say that it offsets. Um, I mean, you're trying to do a leaping attack, which is, well, actually give me awesome. Give me an acrobatics check to see if you can pleasure 20 20. Yes.
00:15:57
Speaker
OK, yeah, you you can negate the inherent disadvantage of performing a leaping strike and do it with advantage against these guys, since they are unaware that you were there. All right, I'm leaping at the one I placed all my stuff on. OK, so. First attack will be 25. That is a hit. Show off. That will be 20 damage.
00:16:25
Speaker
20 damage. OK, second attack, 25. Oh, gross. Well, double ones on the damage. Thanks. Oh. Six or eight damage, eight damage. OK. And my offhand attack. Twenty four hit 10 damage.
00:16:51
Speaker
So basically here just lunges off of the. Off of the sconce and. Just lands perched on the shoulders of one of the one of the two giants and just jams his shadow blades into its neck. OK. Barrick is your turn.
00:17:22
Speaker
OK, so I just melted into the shadows by the wall. Where am I in a in relation to them? I mean, were you hiding near Booyah far away from Booyah? What was the. Probably near the door. OK, so one of them, the one that Drakir just jumped on is near the door. The other one is over on the other end of the room and staring at decks Booyah is running out of the room. Yes.
00:17:51
Speaker
Eric watches Booyah go in mild confusion. And then leaps out as he does, he summons the sword into existence, and I'm going to make two attacks at the giant. Let your cure go high, I'll go low. Attacking out of hiding, am I advantaged? I will say that it can kind of surprised because they haven't acted yet in combat. So, yeah, cool.
00:18:20
Speaker
Oh, yes. Twenty eight. Twenty eight. That's a hit. Oh, and as a bonus action, I'm placing my hex blade curse on this guy. And it's the same one that you hear is attacking. Yes. OK, so he's got a clear slayer as I hunter's mark and my hex blades curse on him for making his day bad. So first attack, there'll be twenty five damage. Twenty five. And second attack. Twenty six.
00:18:49
Speaker
So damage got 15 damage on the second one. OK, very just steps out of the wall, essentially, and just makes two slashes at the Giants legs as he runs past. OK, I'm going to need here to make me a strength saving throw fun. Hmm. Actually, he's not as weak as all that.
00:19:15
Speaker
17. Okay, so the giant that Drakir hopped on his back, he kind of swings around for a second and then reaches behind his neck and Drakir tries to hold on to the plate armor that this giant is wearing that he managed to stab through the folds of, but he just grabs him and throws Drakir up against the wall at the far end of the room, taking
00:19:44
Speaker
Is this like a fall where I can acrobatics to... Nope. This is a fastballs special into a wall about 10 feet away. So that's going to be 15 damage. And Drakir is prone next to the wall. And then he is going to attempt to kick Beric
00:20:14
Speaker
I'm going to use my new thing and give him disadvantage on that. OK. Twenty one. OK. Thirteen damage as Beric is kicked and pushed back about 10 feet. You can give me a dexterity. Give me a dexterity saving throw for Drakir to not be prone and then for Beric to not be prone. Drakir a nineteen. Beric is prone.
00:20:41
Speaker
Okay, so Drakir did land on his feet after being thrown into a wall. Beric was knocked down. Drakir makes a three-point two-point. And then Dex, the giant in front of you, reaches down and pulls out a greatsword, but giant-sized, so about as if he were to start spinning around, he could hit every point in this room. Guys, it's been fun.
00:21:06
Speaker
Oh, well, that's not very good. Fourteen. Well, he can't hit this point in the room. That is a miss. So he brings in an overhead swing the great sword down just at you and you manage to step out of the way as the great sword like damages the stone floor as it comes down hard. Oh, and then he's going to bring it back up and try to swing at you again.
00:21:34
Speaker
Oh, 13. It's because I'm smaller than normal. Yeah. Yeah. He has to get used to finding somebody so tiny. Yeah. So he tries to swing horizontally at you, but misjudges the height. So you're able to just kind of tilt your head down and he misses. And so tiny can't hurt. And now we're back around to Dex. OK, question. I'm trying to picture the layout.
00:22:07
Speaker
Is... Is there somebody between the two giants right now? Or is it Drakir's against the wall, Barak is behind one, and... Barak's closer to you now. He's by the giant that you're fighting. Um... There's nobody in between the two giants, no. Okay, so if I tried to use my ribbon weave to trip the giant in front of me, he could potentially fall into the other one. Because it's a small room and they're 18 feet tall. You said that. Yes.
00:22:35
Speaker
Let's see what happens. All right. So I'm going to. Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to trip. And do I hit advantage on trip, trip attacks, right in that part of the. Yes, you get advantage. But I mean, yeah, yeah, you get advantage on it. OK. Good, because that's a nine.
00:22:58
Speaker
That's a 13, nevermind. It was a neat idea guys. Okay, so for when we get around to the giant's turn I'm gonna flavor the failure is not you missing but the ribbon weave wraps around the ankle and then you tug and the giant just kind of looks down at the ribbon we've wrapped around its ankle and then back at you. We'll get back to that. I refuse to believe that wouldn't cause some damage. It's a sharp piece of metal. He's got boots on. Booyah.
00:23:27
Speaker
Booyox is yelling, you're supposed to stay hiding! And looks down, sees the tent as he's leaving, stops, picks up the tent, turns around, and is gonna attempt to climb up the nearest giant and put it on top of his head.
00:23:42
Speaker
Can he do that? Yes. Give me a dexterity saving throw. I need a dexterity check. I need a dexterity stealth strength and acrobatics check, please. Or if you're better at athletics, you could do that since it's climbing. We'll go with the decks.
00:23:58
Speaker
25 Okay, you're on the Giants head I'm just trying to think of what kind of check to pull this tent down over a Giants head You just grab below so of sort. Yeah, I'm gonna drop it on his head Give me a well. He's obviously aware of you, so he's gonna fight against this But yeah light no
00:24:24
Speaker
Yeah, go ahead and give me a grapple check, which is your strength or dexterity. Your pick. Twenty two. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. So Philip's face.
00:24:49
Speaker
Yeah, I said that they could conceivably crawl into it, so I guess you just get up on his shoulders, hold the door of the tent wide, and then just jump down as this tent falls back to the ground. And... the giant's gone. So... Jesus! Did the other giant see that? That has to be some... Woah! Grr! Grr! Craig! You're next! Jesus!
00:25:17
Speaker
I just thought I would bite his head off. So yeah, it is now Drakir's turn. So Drakir, you just bore witness. And that was the one that all of the marks and everything were on. So awesome. Oh, keep calm. You only had four hit points left. OK, move as bonus action, I'll move my hunter's mark to the other giant. OK, you can't. It's gone. It got devoured.
00:25:47
Speaker
Why did that one have to be the closest one? And I will. I want to. I want to swing up onto the top of the cage and then leap off of that at him. OK.
00:26:06
Speaker
impose what checks you will, if any. Go ahead and give me a go and give me a acrobatics check 18. OK, you are you are leaping through the air at the giant. Excellent. Twenty four. First attack deals 13 damage.
00:26:33
Speaker
So a second attack might miss a second attack is a 16. That's a mess. OK, so I again leap and just drive one of the shadow blades through the back of his shoulder and hang by it essentially. OK, Barrick is on the ground. OK. Oh, I'm still on the ground because I got kicked. Barrick picks himself up.
00:27:01
Speaker
And I will. Rush over to the remaining giant and attack him with. With my blade, I think I will use as a bonus action. One of my. Spells, I'm going to use wrathful smite, OK? What a name, right?
00:27:28
Speaker
So as Barrett goes, as Barrett rushes the the sword in his hand, which has, you know, sort of a much more metallic black blade with this sort of silvery fire motif running along the edges. It flares as he strikes. There's my die, there it is. I'm never going to successfully create with this weapon.
00:27:58
Speaker
Twenty four, though. That's a hit. One bonus D6 is here. So he will take. And he'll take 14 points of damage and I need him to make a wisdom saving throw. You know, Giants, that's their strong suit. Oh, actually, it's not that bad. One of them didn't even know there was a goblin climbing up him.
00:28:29
Speaker
15. Oh, cool. My DC is 16. He is frightened of me. OK. OK. Eric sort of in his in his mind as Eric charges him, the shadows around him sort of stretch out and he rises in form. All right, so.
00:28:50
Speaker
The giant seeing the horrifying visage that is Beric lets out a scream as he tries to take off for the door. Can't move towards me as frightened, and I am between him and the door. But that's the only way to get away from you. But I will argue that he should he should invoke a whole bunch of attacks of opportunities. I am saying that. Wait, wait, wait.
00:29:17
Speaker
The ribbon weaves still around his leg. Yeah. Oh, I'm aware. Yeah, I was thinking that, too. Somebody's about to go for a ride. That's why I was hoping he would cower in a corner. That's hilarious. Because you know, I'm not letting go. I know. I don't know which option is funnier to me. So, yeah, I guess Drakir. Well, Drakir is hanging on to him also. So.
00:29:47
Speaker
I guess Barak and Booyah are the two in a place to get an opportunity attack as he tries to flee the room. So you all can do that real quick before I narrate what happens. You need to resolve any checks regarding the ribbon weave before before. No, not yet. OK, then here we go. Seventeen. That is a miss. OK. All right.
00:30:13
Speaker
Booyah is going to whip out his rapier and make an attack with it. Okay. 17. Miss. Okay, if he's gonna take off, and I'm- I know that my weapon is wrapped around his ankle and I don't want to let it go, I- and can I not get an opportunity to pull out my dagger and just hurl it at him? Sure, you can throw a dagger

Discovery and Exploration

00:30:35
Speaker
at him. Let me throw a dagger at him. Let me try something here. Let's pretend I didn't ask.
00:30:41
Speaker
Was that a one? No, it wasn't a one. It was just a whiff. I threw my dagger and it sailed wide by 20 feet. Watch where you thought that. Watch the prince. Guys, it was way out of the strike zone. OK, so this giant takes off for the door. And in a moment, Dex, you feel your arms tug as you begin being dragged by this giant whiff. In my head, it was when I felt the first drag, I reached out and grabbed the dagger.
00:31:10
Speaker
That's why I missed. And so this giant sprints out the door past Barak and Booyah and rounds the corner and kind of bumps into it. Drakir, give me a strength saving throw to stay on or you could just let go if you want. I'm actually proficient in this.
00:31:31
Speaker
Okay, so the giant slams into the wall, but Drakir jostles and holds on to his shadow blade Dex give me a dexterity saving throw shouldn't be too hard. Okay at the same time I am going to probably Try to reel myself try to reel the blade and to get back like on his foot or something Yeah, but yeah, so my my save fudge 14 14 so
00:31:59
Speaker
as the giant nears the wall and slams into it you hit the real function on your ribbon weave but it causes you to slide past the giant as he's slamming into the wall and you slam into it as well taking
00:32:16
Speaker
One point of damage. One of these days I'll remember my own pencil. Do I keep hold? You keep hold of the ribbon weave, but the reeling mechanic, you jostle loose and hissy takes off, you're being dragged again down the hallway. So he is taking off and he had enough movement to probably get to where he can see the door that you all came through as he's running. So, yeah, Drakir, you are on his back.
00:32:45
Speaker
And I'm going to try and kill him. OK. So I'm going to make three attacks. So first attack. Twenty five. Twenty five. You know what? I'm going to say you're on a giant's back using your means of holding on to him to attack him. I'm going to say disadvantage. Don't roll your eyes at me. You haven't missed once in this encounter, Jakir. Waited for me to get the number.
00:33:14
Speaker
Oh, he hit him. I guess he's got this. Yeah, yeah, I thought I read it. Twenty two. OK, you hit. Suck it, Eric. That'll be eight damage for the first hit. Second attack, two 19s in a row. So 26. Yep. There'll be 13 more damage. OK. And offhand attack.
00:33:40
Speaker
There you go. I missed. Fifteen. Happy now. What was the damage on the second attack? Sorry. Thirteen. Thirteen. No, I'm not happy that you missed, but I'm happy that we made a realistic representation of you trying to stab a guy while riding on his back. OK, you know what? No, you don't get to shoot for realism. We're fighting a giant. I'm convinced. Grounded in the logic of fighting technique. Yeah. Drow practice this, man.
00:34:07
Speaker
Um, Booyah. Giant has just run past you. This is an Umbridgeant sport akin to bull riding. They capture giants and let them loose with a drow on their back. Sounds awful. Booyah levels his hand crossbow. The Umbridgeant are not great. Takes a shot. Okay. Are you making a called shot or just a regular? Just a regular shot. Okay.
00:34:29
Speaker
That will be 26. Yeah. Okay, so he is hit. It's going to be an ensnaring strike as a bonus action. Okay. So he's going to take... It's been a while. He's a humanoid, so 15 damage. And he's also, when he's hit,
00:34:58
Speaker
these thorny vines at the point of impact start wrapping around him. Okay. And he needs to succeed on a strength saving throw and he's also going to take three points of piercing damage from the thorns and the vines. Okay.
00:35:17
Speaker
DC's 14 25 was his strength. Yeah, so he is he is he's not entangled or restrained Apologies on initiative order. I glanced down and saw a D and went with drake here first instead of decks Okay, that's where I got flubbed. So instead of drake here decks go ahead and go. Yeah, that's fine I will drink here and I talked about it and I was like Switch
00:35:44
Speaker
and I was like, hey, let's switch as I was bouncing along the floor. Okay, so question, you didn't really resolve the reeling in mechanic of the thing. What? You're back out to being extended because you hit that wall and like the reeling in stopped. Okay, so let loose. So he is coming to a stop trying to round this corner that you all came around to enter this complex. So you're kind of sliding towards him as he slows as your turn comes around.
00:36:11
Speaker
Okay, so there's there's slack in the ribbon weave as you get closer. Yeah, I'm just really not. Okay, so reeling in the ribbon weave is no sort of action, right? Okay, here's what I think I want to do. I'm going to push the button again just to see if I can get myself zipping in closer to him. All right. While that is happening with I'm going to try to hold on with one hand if you want to strength check that I will.
00:36:36
Speaker
But while that's happening, draw my rapier because you never told me I couldn't have it too. And I'm going to slash at the the other ankle as I'm zipping past again. Okay. I'm okay. So let's see. Let's see if I do it first off. Okay, so it's a 23 to hit. That's a hit. Okay. And I do my D8. I haven't had to roll for damage yet this whole time.
00:37:01
Speaker
That's eight plus sneak attack 16 damage. Okay, and do we need to resolve the movement? Do I just keep zipping up towards his foot? Do I go past him? Do I has my ribbon weave hole again? As you zip past him your rapier you managed to just stab right into the meat of his ankle kind of where the the boot parted just for some flexibility you get it right in there and
00:37:22
Speaker
And he lets out a scream as he reaches up and grabs his ankle and then he topples over and hits his head on the corner of the wall where he was trying to round it and he just falls on the ground limp.
00:37:39
Speaker
Oh, fellas, I did it. I say, yeah, I say, wait, here, timber, where are you, buddy? Yeah, here makes a dexterity saving throw, I guess. Now I'm going to say you make it off there. I mean, OK, fucking roll.
00:37:59
Speaker
OK, Giants dead. OK, I stand up and I do what it takes to disentangle. Yeah, my weapon and draw back in. Once there's slack in it, you can just like normal disengage. The problem was there was tension, so you couldn't. Gotcha. Yeah. Gotcha. You're here, stands up on the Giants head on the Giants back, spits on its head, looks back, goes, you all are terrible at ambush. No, we are good. Booyah use tent.
00:38:30
Speaker
Booyah, leave tent in the middle of the floor. Ruining element of surprise. That is what Booyah do. You'll agree to leave there. Not once. All right. All right. No, you know, I'm going to. I'm going to take this one. Yeah, we didn't do so hard at the ambush that time. But, you know, in the spirit of being more sneaky from now on, we want to feed this guy to the tent real quick so there's no no trace.
00:38:59
Speaker
I suppose, uh, and we will hope that nothing heard his numerous screams. It's a big place. Or notices the smears of blood. Okay, we all get tent. We were never explicitly told there was blood. So we all get the tent, takes it over. Starts putting a dead giant in it. Just working it down his body. All right, here's the thing. It's okay, you feel no pain. So where was Barak?
00:39:30
Speaker
I'm back in the room. All right. I start walking back towards the room. Because, yeah, I'm like, all right, fellas, let's go. Let's go back. Let's figure this out. We probably bought ourselves some time. Either that or we have no time now. There's the two options. Eric produces his longbow and offers it to Argev.
00:39:53
Speaker
And you shoot. Yes, yes. I was trained as a child on archery. So yes, I can be passable, at least. Dex is hunting around for his dagger. So you, you, Prince Orgev. Yes. Hi, Booyah. Nice to meet you. He kind of side eyes, Beric. Booyah? Booyah Grego, you call me Booyah.
00:40:23
Speaker
Ah, nice to meet you, Booyah. You want to take trip in tent? This joke, just kidding. Booyah folds up his tent and puts it back in his bag. Well, I'm at a loss for words, Booyah. You have rough time here, Booyah, try to make happy. Thank you, Booyah.
00:40:51
Speaker
All all I can recall about any movements of the Giants was the the direction we heard the footprints, the footsteps coming from just now with the other giant arriving. That's the direction that I heard them take Barasha and any God relief or anything like that comes from that direction, which is not the direction you all entered.
00:41:17
Speaker
And there is an open door at that end of the hallway. Prints, how you feeling? Do you need any healing or anything? They rough you up any? No, no. Not after the initial capture. They haven't beaten me or even questioned me. It's just I've been their prisoner. All right. So I guess describe the layout. If we were to walk out into the hallway, look left, right, and for what we see. Right. I've forgotten. Right is the direction you came from that goes down a little ways and then turns left. And that's the door that you entered.
00:41:46
Speaker
To the left is a doorway that has an open door, and you can see that there's a hallway running perpendicular to the one that you're in now beyond that door.
00:41:58
Speaker
Oh, we did talk about potentially giants would use something like this as a front and there might be a false door or something. Do I need to do a perception investigation? You can do investigation. Okay. Wrong one. Yeah, nevermind. That was a 12. Okay. I see one door and it's the one I was just dragged through. Yes. Got it. Well, those, shall we go further in? What are we looking for?
00:42:24
Speaker
a burial ground, a sarcophagi. Okay, right. Yes, but what is this Barasha person? Barasha is my compatriot that travels with me. He's a dragonborn. He has been captured by the Giants for some nefarious purpose. I would be remiss to leave him behind.
00:42:47
Speaker
I mean, he's a he's a good warrior. Yeah, he fought with us once. Me and Beric, he's a very strong fighter of indeterminate accent, and it would be a shame if he was killed by a giant. Says the guy who I'm pretty sure this Dex has never sounded the way I've been talking today so far. So I suppose we need to proceed. In that direction, because things still on his pass letter trace. Yeah, he still have probably about
00:43:13
Speaker
40 minutes with it. I mean, that fight was four rounds. Yeah, that was quick. Less than a minute. I'm just taking into account cleanup and your time hiding and things like that. How long does it take for a tent to eat a giant? I get it. So, yeah. If you all so are you all going left out of the room deeper in? I think so. I said, Booyah, come on.
00:43:41
Speaker
OK, let go. We are ready. OK, as you pass through the door, you look to your to your right. You can see an open doorway leading outside based on what you saw before. It seems like this is the entrance that you saw the Emerald Claw people take into this complex.
00:44:02
Speaker
To your left, you see a hallway that goes down about 20 feet.

Giant Tribunal Observation

00:44:07
Speaker
And then you see some stairs going down. I mean, stairs going down sound makes me think either dungeon. You know, when you see stairs going down plays like this, you think either dungeon or morgue. Morat. Sounds reasonable.
00:44:28
Speaker
There's Berwick. I was missing him. So you take a few steps down and there is a door to your right and to your left after probably about five stairs. It's not a long winding hallway. And then right in front of you, probably about 10 feet, 15 feet. This is after we've gone down the stairs. Yes. OK. Pass the stairs. You see what looks almost like an engraved mural slash shrine.
00:44:57
Speaker
Where there is a fire giant standing with his hand extended out, palm facing you. And beneath him, standing in front of him, almost between his legs, is the image of an elf in the same pose. Does this imagery mean anything to Berwick as a student of history?
00:45:26
Speaker
I mean, based on what the giant prior, and there's some imagery that also further indicates like the elves ankles are chained together. And he has a metal collar around his neck. I mean, it's pretty indicative. There's no historical significance other than just being confirmation of what the giant back in storm reach told you about the slavery of the elves. Okay. Can I make an investigation check of the area leading up to it?
00:45:56
Speaker
to look for, I don't know, something that's going to make the statue breathe fire at us or kind of. Yeah, I'd also like to press your plates, tripwires, check for traps. That's investigation, right? How did you do, Barrick? I was 17. So do I. OK. As you all look about the floor and the walls leading up to the shrine, you do not notice anything that would make you think that there is a trap. All right. All right. At least in that form.
00:46:21
Speaker
That being the case, can I study the shrine to see if it gives me any indication of what
00:46:28
Speaker
So, is this a dead end? This end with the shrine is a dead end? Yes. Well, it's a T, right? There's a door to the left. Well, it's a bit further back from the doors. Oh, I see. That would give me an indication of what this building was for or what we might find elsewhere in this building or that kind of thing. There's some writing on it. Oh, actually, well, I do speak giant, both Dracure and Beric speak giant. Okay.
00:46:53
Speaker
Um, Booyah does as well. Okay. Um, Dex just stares at it. All right. That, uh, Falcon big eye backwards dog. Um, okay. So you all read, um, an inscription across the top of this engraving, which is very high up given that it's giant sized. Um, it says,
00:47:20
Speaker
Simply it's it's couplets of words just kind of spread out over the top of this and it says carry life preserve legacy build Empire win war. It's a mobile game.
00:47:37
Speaker
All right, well, he's writing that down. I guess I need to know which one of these two doors only tells the truth and which door only tells a lie. So we can be prepared for which one to go through. Oh, I've run that dungeon before. Does it strike me as a monument, essentially a memorial kind of thing? Which character are you speaking as? Beric. Beric.
00:48:06
Speaker
Possibly, possibly some sort of remembrance of of the giant empire or something along those lines. But you you don't really even study giants that much at university, so you don't really have a good grasp just based on the the social cues of the engraving based upon your core variant viewpoint. That's what you would peg it as. OK.
00:48:37
Speaker
Well, nothing here to indicate which door. Can I, can Dracure do a survival check to try and see which door is more heavily trafficked? Okay.
00:48:52
Speaker
Nope. Okay. All right. I want to try to walk. I mean, I'm just going to do the old cup to the wall thing and see if there's, if I can hear voices behind either door. I want to try a perception check at both doors. Okay. All right. So I'll go to the door on the right first door and you're right. Okay. And that is an 18 18. Um, yeah, you don't hear any voices behind the door.
00:49:21
Speaker
But you do, okay, give me an investigation check to follow up this perception. That's a 26. Don't wait. Yeah, 26. Okay, so as you press your ear up against the door, you feel
00:49:35
Speaker
a breeze hit your face. The end you're looking at the engraving and you feel a breeze all of a sudden just very faintly from the door as just as though that as though there's another door open on the other end of that room or there's a draft from that room. No, not from the room from the engraving from the dead end into the hallway. I feel a breeze on my face.
00:49:59
Speaker
OK, I relay that information. I say, Phil, I just caught it. Because of your high investigation check, you can surmise that perhaps there is a secret door involved with this engraving. Yeah, right. Well, I was going to get there. OK.
00:50:17
Speaker
Didn't seem like it. So as I walk back and I'm still wanting to go to the left door to just just to do it So I'm walking back and say hey fellas up when I was over there by that door I caught a draft off of this here engraving thing. I think it's a passageway I think there's something secretive passageway behind it. I'm gonna come over here real quick You guys might want to run some investigations on it. But so I do a perception on the other door That's a 16 You do not hear anything behind the door. Okay
00:50:46
Speaker
And I'll walk back over, and I say, I think it's worth our time for all of us to do whatever we can to figure out how we can open this passageway. Because I promise there's something back there. All right.
00:51:05
Speaker
Uh, I don't have arcana checks. So I was gonna say, did we, did we already run investigation checks on the shrine? I didn't know. You ran a check about the historical significance of it, but then I'll, I'll make it like a physical inspection of it then. Uh, Barrick will. Okay. So will Dex. Oh no.
00:51:29
Speaker
Uh, 19. 19? Wait, 18. 18? I mean, through physically inspecting what part of the door you can, given the sheer size of it, um, you kind of trace where you felt the breeze coming from and you, you've found the seam of the, where the door would presumably open. Um, but you don't really find anything else. And you said there's a there. Okay. So there's a, a life-sized fire giant.
00:51:57
Speaker
With his hand out and a life-size elf with his hand out. Yes. I just want to high-five that elf see if the door opens. I don't think that's a bad idea. Can Barak first make an arcana check of the statue just to see if there's any any indication that maybe there's a spell to be activated? Okay. Would you just do just tell us the riddle already, Eric?
00:52:21
Speaker
Uh, twenty one. You sense the aura of transmutation magic on the door. OK. Yeah, I wants to do like a survival check to see like. If people are coming up to this door, like where are they congregating at? OK, where are they going to?
00:52:44
Speaker
than a one or a seven, um, 13, 13. You can't really, there has been a lot of traffic through this hallway, but because of that, things have been kicked up enough to where you, you can't, can't deduce. Yeah. Changeling. Uh, come on now. You know my name by now. Be tall. Can you at least say please?
00:53:10
Speaker
I will climb on your shoulders. I will put my hand on the giant. All right. Yeah, no, I mean, it's the right idea. Nine feet is my max. All right. So I tell you to climb on first. And then I get I grow to nine feet.
00:53:28
Speaker
That sounds more difficult, but all right. I mean, it's really not a lot of effort for me to do this. For me to stand on your shoulders while you grow seems the more difficult of the balancing propositions. I've seen what you've been able to do, acrobatic wise. It'll be fine. I think I can do it. It just seems why I make things harder.
00:53:51
Speaker
In any case, a 23 acrobatics check. Yeah, you're on him. All right. So we're standing there and then I guess it had to be Barrick because Booyah probably can't reach the else hand. So I guess I don't because it's you and it's you and him doing the actual hand pressing. So you guys get to count down.
00:54:13
Speaker
Okay, yeah, Barrick and Dracure will both place their hands against the hands. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Is it one, two, three, go? Or one, two, go on three?
00:54:26
Speaker
Dex, Dex and, uh, or Drakir and Beric are brothers. They can time this. It's almost as if they have one mind, one shared mind that they are able to just perfectly place their hands at the same time. And as soon as you make contact with the door, Beric, nothing happens to you. Um, Drakir, a shackle shoots out of the stone from seemingly no more and wraps around your hand. Um,
00:54:52
Speaker
I mean, that's no big deal, right? Can't you just like turn into shadow or something? No. Why do you think I can do that? I don't know. I got a lot to learn about about you and your brother. You can do a lot of things I've never seen before.
00:55:06
Speaker
What's the shackle made of? It is made of some form of metal and there is no seam or lock, just the metal came out snapped around your hand and it's one continuous band wrapped tightly around your wrist with a chain connecting it to the stone. Huh. That's weird. Dex walks away.
00:55:32
Speaker
I give a poll just like see if it's like a poll like like it will pull out some and maybe that's how you trigger this. As you put tension on the chain, it actually reels in closer to where now there's only about. I would I would say initially there was eight inches of chain and now that's dropped down to four. OK, I say what what you got on you there is Shackle.
00:56:00
Speaker
What is the shackle coming out from? It's the door, the stone door. Do we see any other holes in the door where other shackles might shoot out? It didn't come out of a hole. It formed out of the door. Um, trick here, trick here sort of moves his hand down his other hand down the length of the chain to sort of feel if the wall is still solid there or if it is. Like ethereal, like we're like it's come through an illusion or what?
00:56:28
Speaker
So describe what you do in more in fiction for me. I'm putting my my unbound hand on the chain and sort of working it all the way down.
00:56:40
Speaker
the chain to see if there's essentially a joint that the chain is coming out of that we just can't see

Infiltration Planning

00:56:46
Speaker
because of an illusion or if it's literally just manifesting its way out of the wall. So are you touching the wall to engage that? Probably of necessity, yes. Okay. Then once you make contact with the wall, another shackle shoots out and now both of Drakekir's hands are bound. I like to say, Berwick, you're all right. Yeah. Nothing's happened to Berwick.
00:57:08
Speaker
Is it a, is it a, is it a drow thing? Um, well, I'm not asking you, sorry. I'm just describing better what I'm half a drow. Beric, when you pulled your hand away, you almost felt resistance, not in a bad way, not like it was trying to suck you in, but like,
00:57:30
Speaker
almost like your hand belong there, but then as you pulled it away, um, but still nothing happened in regards to the door. Well, the hand push in push on the barrack, a barrack pushes on the hand. Will it push in? No, it does not push in, but you still get that sensation of your hand almost being in place as you pull it back. If I reach up to my, with my full length, can I reach the giant hand?
00:57:58
Speaker
No, you're nine feet tall. I get that. I just I didn't know because because when you've been making the motion, you've had your hand more straight out than up. If I'm not tall and I'm reaching as high as I can, I'd be able to reach about 14 feet. Yeah, but the Giants are 18 feet tall. I mean, you got me there. I was just asking. I'm just I'm just making my day. What if you jump? Can he make a jump? You can try that high five it.
00:58:22
Speaker
I could, I mean, yeah. Okay. Give me, give me an acrobatics check or an affluence. Tricare just places himself from Dex's shoulders and sort of uses the tension of the chains to walk himself up the wall to get out of the way. Okay. Cause if, cause if, if
00:58:39
Speaker
He grabbed Drakir, but it's not grabbing Beric, so there's no guarantee it's going to grab me. So. OK, the the chain came out the manacle and grabbed. Drakir, who was on who had touched which the elf or the giant, the giant, the giant, the giant. And Beric touched the elf. Correct. And Beric is an elf. Well, I was thinking this through. Go ahead and give me your check to.
00:59:07
Speaker
Well, I thought Booyah said wait, wait. No, no. Randy said wait. Well, crap. I'm about to get shackled in the air. You'll probably have an easy time dealing with shackles, as I imagine you can adjust the thickness of your wrists and hands. Yeah, I can just I can just slip it out. So acrobatics, you said? Yeah, that's fine. It's 14. OK, yeah, you can pretty easily jump up, slap hands with the giant and then a manacle shoots out and grabs your wrist.
00:59:36
Speaker
All right, so touching the giant gets you manacles. If you're not a giant, I think. Oh, Eric being a half elf and having some fidelity to somebody else should touch the elf. All right. Well, since I'm the one that can. OK, I I shrink out the manacles shrinks with you.
00:59:55
Speaker
Oh, son of a bitch. Of course it does, Eric. I mean, and the the the chain does not give you more length, though. So as you shrink, you get potentially pulled up off the ground. No, I get it. I was already off the ground. I had to jump up and slap the hand. And that's fair. So now I'm just making myself lighter. So do I stress on my shoulder? Booyah could try touching the elf. Don't.
01:00:19
Speaker
I don't know. I think that based on what he has seen, that he would assume that he would think an elf has to touch the elf and a giant has to touch the giant. So he doesn't see any point for him to try to touch either one. So you think what we need is for Drakir to touch the elf. Because barracks not all the way an elf. Yes. OK. All right.
01:00:49
Speaker
I mean, I think I think if Barrett can get up there, maybe I can cut the chain. I mean, I've got a magic sword that works in all the movies. Real quick, who amongst you has the highest innate intelligence? Probably Barrick or Booyah, I guess. Is that just the raw score? Everyone give me your intelligence score. Thirteen. Twelve.
01:01:13
Speaker
14 for Barrick. OK, continue. And I make an arcana check to see if I can understand what's going on now that I've seen this in action. Yes, that's where my expertise went. OK, plus 22.
01:01:32
Speaker
Yeah, you based on seeing what's happened, you you obviously connect the dot that giant and then a non done a non giant touching the giant hand triggers this this magical manacle. Your
01:01:51
Speaker
Your touching of the elf hand. Based on the magic and just the way the way things are going, it's not that you are an incomplete elf and therefore it's not engaging properly. It's that there is an element missing from your touch to complete whatever this is. Huh? Something missing from my touch.
01:02:18
Speaker
Can I study closely the elf to see if I can tell, especially like whatever I can see of its wrist and hand and see if there's something. Something that I can tell that I should have.
01:02:34
Speaker
Like, is there a brand on its hand or something like that? There's no brand or anything. You just see the the shackles. But that's that's all you can see. We need the shackles from Orgev. Go get go back and get the shackles from Orgev. OK, but yeah, go. He takes off that way. OK, while he's doing that, I'm trying to think about that. There's got to be a riddle here. Carry life, preserve legacy, build empire, win war.
01:03:02
Speaker
Uh, Barrick forms the sword in his hand and touches it to the elf's hand. Nothing happens. Very live. I mean, the door is currently carrying too live. Yes. Yes. I mean, it was a very quick jolt. So you return with the manacles. Uh, this nicks his palm. Okay.
01:03:28
Speaker
sword and presses it against the wall. The manacles disappear as Drakir and Barak or Drakir and Dex drop to the ground and the door begins to rumble open. How many d6 damage do I need to take? None. It's not that far of a drop and you were feet first so just. And I highly dexterous. You're named after it in fact. I'm just stupid. So I guess we don't need manacles.
01:03:55
Speaker
Manacles might come in handy. Yeah, who knows? You want manacles? I've had my experience for the day things.
01:04:03
Speaker
I'm all manacled out. All right, we start. Do we do we go in? I just kind of look around. I'm like,

Episode Conclusion

01:04:10
Speaker
do we? I mean, we're still going, right? What are we seeing down the passage now? As soon as the door begins to open, you see orange light just begin to flood the passageway that you are in. Thank God. I'm so tired of being blind. And you see more stairs leading down with just massive torches lining this hallway.
01:04:32
Speaker
And it's still pretty run down. It still ruins, but it seems a lot better kept than the section you were just in. Oh, God, guys, we're walking into the giant den. And yeah, isn't that what we were going to have to do if we're going to rescue Borussia? Yes, I'm just saying it out loud because hell, yeah. Question for the next question. Guys, should we try to shut this door behind us? Is there a way? Do you think it'll happen automatically?
01:04:58
Speaker
I mean, if this door wide wide the heck open, they're they're going to know someone's down here. You have to go in and find out. I don't know if we can shut it. All right.
01:05:10
Speaker
OK, so you can hear muffled shouting also from the direction you need to head down these stairs. Oh, and I think you should be the last one to go through just in case it closes behind the person who. I don't want to get squished. Fair enough. Yeah, somebody somebody read through all two of annihilation and I don't want to get squished by a door.
01:05:35
Speaker
OK, so you all are able to wait that somebody was Eric, not Jeff. I'm playing Tomb of Annihilation with some people. I don't want to think I read ahead. Once barracks through, I want to look and see if there is an obvious way to close the door. The door actually begins to shut once you pass through. Excellent. Nailed it. What's on the other side of it? Elf but giant, but it's.
01:06:00
Speaker
The same image is on the other side. But from behind, you got to rub your butt. We've got to cut your butt and you've got to rub it. So this is very funny to me. Our listeners are laughing right now, you asshole. OK, so. Yeah, like I said, you all hear a single voice talking very loudly. There's enough echo to where you can't quite make out his words at the top of the steps, though.

Speaker
I mean, I kind of make meaningful looks at everybody and I hold my weapon a little tighter. Let's move carefully. We're still, we're still shadowed too. Yeah.
01:06:46
Speaker
So as long as we move as quietly as possible, we should be how far down to the bottom of the steps or the first time we might be noticed by somebody like with the first hallway, whatever. How far? You probably have about 20 feet to go down before you could reasonably be noted. You could then crouch down to see what's in the hall. That's exactly what Dex is going to do, because 20 feet means you don't even have to move and I'll still be in your shadow. Yep. OK, so.
01:07:09
Speaker
Uh, and now that'd be stealth and then investigation or stealth and then perception. Uh, give me a stealth first. Yeah. The cure will go with Dex. Okay. Add 10. Oh, that's right. Uh, so that's a 25 stealth. 34.
01:07:24
Speaker
Yup. Y'all are good. That adding 10 really helped. I don't think I would have made it otherwise. Then I peek around and do I need to roll? You don't need a perception check for this. You see quite a few giants gathered in what seems to be a large meeting hall.
01:07:49
Speaker
All of the tables and everything have been pushed out of the way, though, as there's one giant standing before the rest talking, and there is another giant on his knees in front of the speaking giant facing the crowd. And you hear him, you hear the giant standing saying, Kenemon Hagsbane, you have been, you have been found guilty of your crimes against your people. As a leader, you have been weak and ineffectual.
01:08:17
Speaker
You have not led us to the glory that you claimed you would, and therefore, I, Senusret, Shadowstalker, sentence you to die. If anybody has objections, may they speak them now. Can you say the charges again? As a leader being weak and ineffectual and not expanding the Empire as he claimed he would as the leader. All around the room are fire giants.
01:08:48
Speaker
Are all the people in the room the same kind of giant? Yes, they're all fire giants. Yes. You just hear a chorus of voices ring up shouting kill him, kill the traitor. This is a there's more hallway beyond this, right? Like it's a pretty wide opening, but then there's more hallway beyond it. Well, you mean beyond the meeting hall? Yeah. There are doors and hallways and things branching off of this. This is like. Oh, but off of the meeting hall, like to go to proceed further, we have to go through this. Yes, yes. Well, didn't we do this already?
01:09:20
Speaker
It was not not with Giants with a hobgoblin. Oh, well, this is different. No, it is totally different. I'm just messing around. I just thought in my head, this was there was a meeting hall to the left or hallway going down beyond it. This leads into a receiving area of switching. So we can't do anything.
01:09:44
Speaker
unless we either go back or risk going through this meeting hall is what is what Yes. Okay. As big as the meeting hall room ish, I mean, I mean, it's it's a large meeting hall, but five times as big to accommodate giants, right thing. So very high ceilings, probably to a regular human humanoid, probably to a regular humanoid about
01:10:13
Speaker
100 150 feet wide, 500 feet long. You see the giant on his knees, raise his head to the chorus of kills and say, you are all fools. He is being manipulated. There's nothing you all can do to stop this. Dex would count.
01:10:41
Speaker
Like I want to know how many giants are in there. OK. Once you hit eight, you hear a thud as you see the giant that was on his knees, his head hit the ground. So I dropped down to seven and I keep counting. As the the chorus of giants cheer in approval, there is a total of about, I would say,
01:11:10
Speaker
gathered here right now. 15 Giants total. All right. Dex uses a bonus action to wet himself. And then trickier says one less. Yeah.
01:11:29
Speaker
Um, though the one that did the beheading holds his head up and says, get back to work. Oh, dicks. Okay. How many of them appear that they're about to start turning around and coming back to direction? None of them start filtering out of the hall. Okay, I look back, and I give the Navy SEAL signal for hold. And
01:11:53
Speaker
And Booyah knows what it means, but okay, it just starts walking towards us. You called? No, I don't see any reason to try to risk stealthing back to the group until everybody's gone off out. Tell me if I need to roll a perception check to get an accurate number, but I'd like to know how many go off in each direction.
01:12:16
Speaker
I'm I'm not joking. I want to know if there's one room that none of them go into. Well, there's there's hallways there. I mean, because here's here's where Dex's head is at. This seemed like an important thing. And they called everybody in this general area to come and watch this beheading. If there's one hallway that none of them go down when it's over. That's the hallway I want to inspect first. Okay.
01:12:36
Speaker
That's an ask I get there. There isn't a hallway that you note that none of them go down. Okay. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I guess I could have said it that way in the first place. But I figured, you know, you've been one of my closest friends for like eight years, you probably would figure out what I was trying to say. But whatever, man, I guess how many went into each thing like this? Yeah, I did. Because now I want to know how many of which hallway only one of them went down. Okay, so there's not an uninhabited hall.
01:13:08
Speaker
But the the gathering hall is now empty, as a couple of them drag the body, following the man who announced himself as Senustret down the what seems to be the main hall leading out of the gathering area, directly almost like a continuation of the hallway that you are in now on the other side.
01:13:34
Speaker
They going to have to bury him? Or are we looking for place of burial? That's not a bad point. Maybe. I don't know what to do with a traitor. Traitor, yeah. I'm going to throw him in the tent and solve the problem for him. Only if Booyah can pull out again.
01:13:55
Speaker
I mean, here, Dex is not a tactician. He's not a strategist. So he's not going to even I'll just say, while we were looking trickier, dude, I'm right, right. And there's not, there's not a hallway that doesn't have a giant down at the end of it by now, right?
01:14:13
Speaker
Depends on where the hallways go. Right. But we didn't see any of these. But if they will bury the body, then it is worth following. Right. It's also possible that wherever the head giant goes, that is where they will have their captive who they plan to do something to. And this is where Beric is at an impasse, honestly. I don't know which is more important to him. Where's Beric at an impasse?
01:14:40
Speaker
I don't know which is more important to him, waiting to see about a burial or going to rescue Brescia. I'm sorry, Dex, not Beric. Which one am I? I shapeshifted earlier. I look like Beric and I got very confused. We came here looking for a giant artifact. We came here looking for tombs. They have a dead body to dispose of. That's what Booyah say. Yes.
01:15:06
Speaker
Yeah, I guess that makes sense to me. So we wait, do we find cover in this great hall? Wait, I thought we could see the way they were carrying the body, right? Yeah. Yes. All right. We just follow be sneaky. How much how much more time do we have in this shadow? It's got to be 20 minutes ish ish. Okay. Yeah, let's let's go down that one. Try to follow. Okay.
01:15:29
Speaker
I think I can do something that will help with this. Well, put a pin in that because end of episode. All right. Well, thank you all so much for listening. Um, if you want to connect with us, you can find our Facebook page, uh, the geek Pantheon. We are also on Twitter and Instagram at the geek Pantheon. We would like to thank Kevin McLeod for the use of his music. You can find it all over at incompetent.com.

Speaker
Yeah, and you know, here's something we have not asked of you guys in a long time. But our, you know, we have a lot of people in this Facebook group now. And if you guys would all just go and give us a rating on iTunes, or if you would be great as well, but just a rating would help.
01:16:06
Speaker
a ton. We've got the sort of listenership now that if 75% of you guys actually took the time to rate us on iTunes, it might actually start pinging there and getting us a little bit of notice. That'd be rad. We'd really appreciate it if you would just take a couple of minutes and give us some stars. Unless you don't like it, in which case, kick rocks. Also, we're almost 40 episodes in. If you don't like the show, why are you still here?
01:16:36
Speaker
No, but we would appreciate it. And we appreciate everything that you do, regardless if we get that or not. So thank you. Yep. All right. Once again, I am your dungeon master, Eric. I'm Philip. Randy. Jeff. We'll see you next time.
