Keeper.

TV Show Consumption Trends

00:01:25
Speaker
Hey, what's happening? What's going on? How are we doing? Doing good. Doing good. ah Not a lot to talk about. We didn't watch a lot, but we'll jump right into...

'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Reception

00:01:37
Speaker
One of the best shows on television right now. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Penultimate episodes last week. Episode 5. Only 6 episodes. Kind of short season. Compared to Game of Thrones. Short episodes too. Half an hour.
00:01:54
Speaker
But last week we saw The Trial of the Seven. We did indeed. And it was as epic as i hoped it would be. I'm not going to talk much much about it because i know there's people that have not watched this show compared to the other shows in the Game of Thrones series. Although a lot of people are watching it, but it's one of those slow

Henry Cavill in Game of Thrones Rumor

00:02:13
Speaker
sleeper hits. Last week, Dexter Sol Ansel, who plays Egg,
00:02:20
Speaker
Actually, accidentally revealed in an interview that Henry Cavill may have been cast as one of the characters in Game of Thrones. I have no idea who this character is. You may know about it. David Blackfire? Yeah, who who is this?

Game of Thrones Lore: Blackfyre Rebellion

00:02:34
Speaker
One of the spin-offs we always talk about, which spin-offs we'd like to see, one of the ones I want to see is the Blackfyre Rebellion, which is um basically after Aegon IV, on his deathbed, basically says, all my bastards are now legitimate Targaryen children, which then means that there's now like 30 people that have a claim to the throne.
00:02:55
Speaker
And basically they I don't know if Daemon is one of his bastards. but He basically legitimizes like every Targaryen bastard. And Daemon is basically appointed to be like the leader of the quote-unquote Blackfires oh that leads a rebellion to try to take the throne from the Targaryens. Because pretty much as soon as the dragons die out,
00:03:17
Speaker
there's a rebellion against the Targaryens like every three years. Okay. Aegon V goes through it the most due to the fact that he tried to give more power to the poor houses of Westeros. Right. um So every major, everyone wanted him out. And that's and that's what's and that's what this is setting up eventually.

Speculating New Game of Thrones Series

00:03:39
Speaker
Right. that's Yes. Which you saw in the prediction in episode three. um But lot of people think he's going to be I think it's Daemon Blackfyre, not Darion.
00:03:48
Speaker
um I think Darion's somewhere else. So yeah, Daemon Blackfyre. And the thing is, like they always cast Henry Cavill to be... right He honestly should have been Robert if they were doing the Rebellion.
00:04:00
Speaker
But they always cast him to be a Targaryen for some reason. Which is funny because like people think of the Targaryens as like some warriors, but... like There weren't. Like, they had dragons. Like, for the most part, every Targaryen looks like Aryan from this series where they're just, they're twinks.
00:04:17
Speaker
Which is why Egg in that episode two, I believe, is talking about how he's small even for his age because the Targaryens are generally, like, small, undersized people.
00:04:28
Speaker
Mm-hmm. So I just, I don't think Henry Cavill was actually cast because, what's his name? The other guy there that plays Dunk went on his Instagram story and said that that's like not true. And he even used the first flight song from a Man of Steel in his post.
00:04:45
Speaker
I don't know. i have a feeling that may have been damage control because the way the way that interview the way that interview looked, it definitely looked like he was shutting him down. No, no, no, don't talk about that.
00:04:56
Speaker
um Yeah, who knows? Unless he thought he was going to say something else, which

Interviews with Game of Thrones Spin-off Cast

00:05:00
Speaker
you never know. or Or they could be the greatest trolls in the history of Westeros, which is also a thing to consider. Right, yeah. Because these two are like... Did you see their interview with ah with Dunk this week where...
00:05:12
Speaker
They were talking about how they like got their chemistry together and everyone was coming up to him and being like, oh, you're so nice to take him to the arcade and take him to basketball games. He's like, but I want to go to the arcade and I want to play basketball. He's like, know how many times I beat that kid in Mario Kart?
00:05:27
Speaker
like it it's funny to see their relationship like they generally like i guess they met and peter who plays duck is basically just started like basically treated them like a younger brother they hung out they lived together for a little bit um stuff like that so um yeah you can tell it comes across on screen yeah you get that brotherly connection um last week's episode was epic uh one of the highest rated episodes of the game of thrones uh series, saga, whatever you want to call this going on. um It's awesome.
00:06:01
Speaker
It was very good. This is a list of all the episodes of what they are. Going back to what D&D always said about their battle episodes is like,
00:06:12
Speaker
If the entire hour, or say it's an hour for whatever purposes, if the entire episode is just a battle, like you lose a lot of it by the end, which is why they break up their battle episodes. And this one, I thought, did it brilliantly. and They did the same thing, and they used a certain the same percentage of the episode to do the background stuff.
00:06:30
Speaker
um I thought it was fantastic. This show is incredible, and I can't for the finale tonight. Very simple story. This is what Game Thrones should be right now after after we had the epic series up until the last season. and and and And a lot in the new ah House of the Dragons is awesome, too. This is just a great... The type of show that Star Wars needs right now. Oh, yeah. that they had It was the type of show The Mandalorian was until The Mandalorian wasn't um during Season 3. But yeah, it's the type of show that Star Wars could use right now. Just fantastic.
00:07:02
Speaker
It's the type of show that Marvel is right now with Wonder Man as well, where they're taking a simple character and a simple story and they're not going too far into the tropes of it all. They're not overthinking it. They're not overthinking it. They're just trying to make one singular story and um not trying to just fit into the better part of the MCU. Hopefully it'll happen naturally.
00:07:23
Speaker
Here's some shelf-worthy pops for you if you want your Dunkin' Egg. Funko Pops release are announced this week for Knights of the Seven kingdom night of the seven Kingdoms. I need all of those. They all look awesome. Especially Lionel.
00:07:36
Speaker
Yeah, it looks awesome. His his helm looks awesome. um Yeah, cannot wait. The big news coming out of Game of Thrones this week, which I've been mentioning off-pod to you, is i want what are we going to see next? What and what kind of... like The one thing I want to see, now that I'm i'm going back and I'm watching Game of Thrones, i'm I'm through the first season. I'm also doing a Breaking Bad watch right at the same time.
00:07:59
Speaker
um The one thing that I wanted to see going through season one is the Mad King and Robert's Rebellion. Yes. and that Both of which would be cool, but as a book reader, i know I know pretty much everything about both those stories, so it's whatever. I'd rather i'd rather personally see one of the Blackfire Rebellions, but yeah, continue.
00:08:23
Speaker
Um, announced this week in Britain, uh, they are going to do, I believe the Shakespeare company is going to be doing a event 10 years before game of Thrones, all about Robert's rebellion.
00:08:36
Speaker
And they're going to cast all the people that you know, from game of Thrones, from Ned Stark to Robert, to the Lannisters, and setting up the setting up the throne for Robert to take over. um It's going to be an epic story. And, of course, going back to Game of Thrones, you know Jaime Lannister is the one that kills the king, so that's going to a huge part of it. um Yeah, I cannot wait, yeah especially going back and watching Game of Thrones this week. um There's a lot of nods. There's a lot of nods that I'm noticing, bridging not only this show, but bridging House of the Dragon and everything else together is one epic story.
00:09:10
Speaker
You'll notice a lot of stuff. um You may not have gotten to the Joffrey party. I think that might be season two where he talks about Dunk. But yeah, that's there's a funny um meme now going around Twitter because apparently like a lot of people are watching Game of Thrones now and posting about it. Like a lot of blue check marks for like the first time in 2026. It's funny to see like the show have that much of impact now that this is popular again. So people are going back and watching for the first time or we're doing rewatches of their own.
00:09:35
Speaker
um i love the world this is in obviously um no great world you know that it's fantastic there's so many stories to be told which is why say our words all the time is that we shouldn't be stuck with like could you imagine if game of thrones like imagine if game of thrones like right we're only gonna tell stories about house stark okay that would be boring real quick um so i'm glad they're expanding this universe i love ira parker um showrunner of this show. I believe he was a writer in the House of the Dragon season one. That's where he and George started talking. um But yeah, this show fantastic. And the finale is coming up tonight yeah in about five hours. Yep. Cannot wait. We're to talk about it next week. um Shrinking episode four. This season is very good. ah Michael J. Fox came back this last episode. I think you've caught up, right? You watched this last episode. Yes. um
00:10:27
Speaker
Great series. Great show. This is on Apple TV. if anybody If anybody hasn't seen it, watch It's It's funny. It's every time edibles are introduced into an episode, you're going have a good time, which has happened twice now um in the first season. And of course this season, um the show is hitting on all cylinders. i think it's a I think it's better than Ted Lasso. It just isn't getting the praise Ted Lasso got. yeah um Ted Lasso, of course, is fantastic, but this show works way better for me, yeah for especially like my humor. This is a little bit more of a darker comedy.
00:11:00
Speaker
Lasso is much more upbeat, but this also has upbeat moments. One of Harrison Ford's best roles in Late in Life, that's saying a lot. Of course, he's done so much in the last 40 years, 50 years. For that, there Indiana Jones and Han Solo that's saying a lot. Yeah, it says a lot, but this is actually lets him act, like really act, where he hasn't done it in a while. um Jason Segel, amazing in this show. Jefferson from Married with Children. I don't know. I remember his name off the top of my head.
00:11:25
Speaker
Funny as hell. And like you mentioned, the edibles in this episode revolved around him. Oh, is that that guy? Yeah, yeah. He was awesome. Okay. ah Great cast all around. Done by Bill Lawrence, who, of course, like you mentioned, did Ted Lasso, did this. Got Scrubs coming.

Recommendation: 'Shrinking' on Apple TV

00:11:41
Speaker
He just he just reinvigorated Scrubs on NBC, ABC, whatever that's on now. ABC, I think. Great show on Apple TV. there's This is the third season. Go back and watch the first two. Watch this. Watch Ted Lasso, too. it's All of his creations on Apple TV are great. um
00:11:57
Speaker
We got a movie to review. One that you talked about a couple weeks ago, and I finally watched it this week. And boy, was it a fucking great

Review of 'The Bone Temple'

00:12:05
Speaker
movie. 28 years later, The Bone Temple. Filmed around, I think the same time they filmed 28 years later, so they used the same sets. Yeah, it was like right after.
00:12:16
Speaker
Different director and it shows. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for Danny Boyle because this movie was the best of the series for me. Nika Dacosta I don't know her name off the top my head. What else did she do? She directed the Marvels for the MCU. That's what she's mostly known for. Which of course depending on your thoughts of that and where the MCU at the time A lot of people have different feelings on the Marvels. I like it.
00:12:47
Speaker
lot of people have k mixed feelings about it. This is the best thing she's done so far that I know of. um Great, great... It's it's hard to... the characters The character study of this movie... None of the other movies have touched...
00:13:02
Speaker
especially with Ralph Fiennes, but especially with jake Jack O'Connell. o con We're going have to get these names we'renna to get these names straight because there's Jake O'Connell from Deadman, the Rian Johnson movie, and then there's this guy who is in Sinners who's amazing in that and just equally amazing in this. And he has the story of an atheist versus a versus a Satanist is incredible towards the end. The very last number of this song, as you can see in the poster on the right, is Ralph Fiennes trying to prove to everybody that he's the devil. And he has this song and dance number.
00:13:41
Speaker
where he takes an old record of Iron Maiden and the Number of the Beast and starts singing along to it and lip syncing to it. It is incredible. One of the best song moments I've ever seen in a movie. um And the minute I saw the record come off the shelf, was like, oh shit, they're going to Number of the Beast. And they did. it was awesome. um Couple of cameos.
00:14:01
Speaker
Spoilers for the next 30 seconds if you don't don't want to know. Um, in the subway, Samson is this big lumbering, um, zombie who Ralph finds character, who is a doctor ends up giving him so much morphine that it actually takes away the pain of the zombie virus. And he starts to talk. He starts to become human again, um, which is weird. He's very strong, very huge. He's got a, well, he's got a huge dong. Um, and he goes into a subway and he starts to have hallucinations. He starts to see zombies. But one of the characters, that I have not seen going anywhere on the internet about this.
00:14:38
Speaker
One of the characters on the subway looks to be Robert Carlyle from 28 Weeks Later. the main The main character, I'm not sure. I have not seen anybody talking about it. i looked online to see if anybody else noticed this. But in the subway, um, I wish I had a picture of it here. But in the subway, looked exactly like him from the second, um...
00:14:54
Speaker
the second movie, but the final scene of the movie, skip for 30 seconds. This is important. Sets up a sequel, uh, directly connecting to the first movie, 28, 28 days later. And that would be a fast forward of Killian Murphy from the first movie with a daughter teaching her.
00:15:15
Speaker
Um, and he looks out the window and he sees the care, the two surviving characters of this movie. Um, trying to come up into his property and he goes to protect him and try to bring him in. as they're being chased by zombies onto his land. um I'm guessing setting up some so some sort of sequel. i'm not sure if she's going to direct it. I'm not sure if what's-his-name's going come back and direct it again. i think he is. um okay He just couldn't do them back-to-back because he was okay doing post-production. I believe he wrote all three, I think he's directing the third, but I can't guarantee it.
00:15:47
Speaker
The fourth, oh, cool. Yeah, that'd be awesome. Or, the yeah third of this trilogy, the fifth movie overall. Yeah. So what is it going to be, like 28, 29 years later? Like, what's the sequel going to called? It's still 28 years later, then whatever the sub-season is for it. Okay, it's only really year, so yeah. The other thing that's unresolved is Aaron Taylor Johnson, he survived in the third movie, right? He never died. They're on that island still. So he could be joining the cast as well. There could be an epic conclusion kind of connecting all the elements of these movies together, but This movie in itself by itself is fantastic.
00:16:27
Speaker
My favorite of all this the whole entire series. I'm not huge into zombies, but this is great. Four and a half out of five, and I cannot wait to see where this continues. um Ralph Fiennes an incredible actor, of course. shows Shows his true acting talent in this movie. And Jack O'Connell.
00:16:46
Speaker
um is is incredible. He's one of those guys we've got to keep an eye out on him. I loved him in Sinners. I loved him in this too. Playing Jimmy. Jimmy, ah who of course was the son of the devil, which was awesome. um yeah Four and a half out of five. Great movie. Cannot wait to see where this continues.

Upcoming Films and Trailers Discussion

00:17:05
Speaker
um With that being said, let's get into news. The News
00:17:16
Speaker
And it's not a new sound without the trailer roundup. Again. Still can't figure that one out. I forgot to add it to my sound effects today. um Brand new posters.
00:17:28
Speaker
No full trailer for Mario Galaxy. Coming out just about a month from now. ah But we all we got a whole bunch of character posters for this movie. liked the first one. Of course, I loved Mario from back in the day, so I'm excited to see where this goes. um Yoshi being a part of it is awesome. and Looks like they're going to be on Dinosaur World. Looks like there's going to be a lot of ah the games for Mario Galaxy is going to be throughout this movie. So, yeah, cannot wait. And the villain is going to be Bowser's son, played by one of the Safdie brothers. So, yeah, cannot wait. Did get a full trailer, which actually turned me around for the Mandalorian and Grogu. I don't know about you, but it looked awesome. Sounded awesome. Um, kind of, kind of got me excited and I haven't watched Clone Wars. I know there's new characters that were introduced in this from Clone Wars, uh, ones we've seen before already in the Mandalorian, but, um, excited for the first time actually seeing this trailer. We see some Huts as well, um, with, uh, what's his name? Jeremy Allen White playing one of the
00:18:25
Speaker
sons of Jabba the Hutt. So yeah, cannot wait. Looks great. um Got a brand new, oh yeah, by the way, um playing one of the aliens in this movie yeah is Martin Scorsese. Scorsese. Yep. yep sure late in light Late in life going into his voice acting career. I wanted to mention this movie.
00:18:46
Speaker
I saw the poster, I think it was on X or somewhere, called Slanted. um Starring Grace McKenna, who is in, of course, the Ghostbusters movies, Afterlife, Firehouse. She plays one of the daughters of of the granddaughter of Egon. um She plays this character... who's an Asian girl who wants to change her looks to become this beautiful white girl. And that's when she ends up becoming McKenna Girl, the McKenna Girl. um
00:19:16
Speaker
Comes out in March, R-rated. Reminds me a lot of The Substance means Meets Mean and Girls. Kind of weird. But it looks really good called Slanted. Keep an eye on that. This looks very good. This full trailer came out of The Mummy. It did look really good. yeah It looks very good. The actual Mummy horror movie.
00:19:34
Speaker
Yeah, a mummy horror a mummy mumma mummy horror movie set in more of a modern time, not not connected to anything ancient Egypt. um It looks like this girl was kidnapped within 10 years, um and somebody mummified her, and she comes back to life, and she actually starts terrorizing her family, and it looks really good. The trailer looked awesome. so comes out and It comes out in April, and we'll keep an eye on that.
00:19:57
Speaker
um First trailer for a movie called Pressure. This stars Brendan Fraser, Andrew Scott, and Carrie con Condon. Speaking of ah afterlife. Oh, no. ah Carrie Condon, she played Mike's daughter in... I'm thinking of the other the other Carrie. She played Mike's daughter in in Better Call Saul. um Yes.
00:20:17
Speaker
Brendan Fraser plays a World War II American officer who is 72 hours before D-Day. Um, he has to they have to figure out how they're going to do a c cboard seaboard invasion of, if of course, Normandy in France. Uh, this comes out in the end of May. It's a war epic. Looks awesome. Looks like a, looks like it could be a slow drama getting into all the battle stuff that, of course, we've seen in many movies before, most notably Saving Private Ryan, but Yeah, love Brandon and Fraser. I love what he's doing. I love that he's going bald in this movie. It looks awesome. um But yeah, cannot wait to see that movie. Definitely on my radar. And we've got a trailer for Peaky Blinders' The Immortal Man. Finding out who Barry Coonan is going to be playing. He's going playing Cillian Murphy's son.
00:21:05
Speaker
He's been recast as his son. Comes out on March 20th on Netflix. Theaters on March 6th, just next a couple weeks from now. But I cannot wait. I love Peaky Blinders, the show. I still have to finish it. I may actually take a break from Breaking Bad and i better call emb be and Game of Thrones and go back and watch that whole series again and watch the final season. Uh, cause I cannot wait to see, I love that. I love that show. If anybody hasn't seen it, just a great gangster show.
00:21:31
Speaker
Um, yeah, very good. It comes out March 20th on Netflix for free. Uh, brand new trailer for toy story four five where all of the toys are being taken over by electronics and the internet. Um, kind of like it is now in real life. Um, all the actors are coming back who are still alive. I know a lot of the actors who played these characters in the past 30 years have passed. Um, but a lot of them are back, of course, led by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. um If you love these movies, you'll probably love this equally as much. so a lot of people say the fourth one is where it should stop just because it's a perfect ending. um so yeah what the one I thought the third one was the perfect ending.
00:22:15
Speaker
Third one, too. Tarantino said the same thing. um and We finally got the full trailer that the teaser trailer to House of Dragons Season 3. Comes out in June. No no ah official date, but we'll be getting it just a few months from now. And dragons are back, baby. Dance of the Dragons. Finally setting up where the dragons are going to have their downfall.
00:22:38
Speaker
um where everything's going to kind of shift for the Targaryens. So we've got one more season after this. So this summer we'll watch this, and probably two or three years after that we'll watch the final season. Yes. um I love all the characters.
00:22:51
Speaker
If we're still here. we're here. I love all the characters in this show equally. in any of the Game of Thrones series. Rhaenyra Targaryen is fucking great.
00:23:01
Speaker
And her dragons, everything about this, the the the dragons being in full form is incredible. so Cannot wait for that. We'll talk about it this summer. Weekend Box Office last weekend, Weathering Heights for a four-day holiday was $40 million, number one. The animated Sony movie Goat was number two for $32 million. And Crime 101,
00:23:25
Speaker
17.7, that's ah Chris Helmsworth, don't know much about it that was number 3. This weekend's box office just announced this morning, GOAT took the number 1 spot with 17 million, Weathering Heights switched with them, became number 2, and I can only imagine 2.
00:23:42
Speaker
two The religious movie came in at number three with eight million. Kind of a low box office, middle of the winter, understandably. um And the Ken Burns documentary I watched a couple months ago, the American Revolutions had four billion minutes watched. The show was long, so it's understandable. But yeah yeah, very, very successful. They're all praising it. Ken Burns and PBS both praising the ratings of that. It was great. It was really good. Really good documentary

Tribute to Recently Passed Actors

00:24:11
Speaker
done well. um got some deaths to talk about rest in peace to tom noonan um you may not know the name but you've seen him in a bunch of stuff especially in the 80s and 90s most notably for me i remember him from last action hero um he's of course been in robocop 2 he was a villain in that um what other movies have have you seen him in i've seen him in like tv shows stuff tv shows he's been a lot of stuff Man Hunter, the original Hannibal Lecter Man Hunter. He was the bad guy in that. Okay. Yeah, yeah great great in those movies, especially The Last Action Heroes. I think it's the only one I really remember seeing him in, but... Rest in peace to him.
00:24:50
Speaker
Rest in peace to Eric Dane. Just announced last year that he had ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. And he succumbed to it this week. um He was only like 50-something years old. He was McDreamy or McSteamy, one of those Grey's Anatomy. um He was multiple man in X-Men The Last Stand. um He's been in Euphoria since season one, playing the dad of Jacob Elardi.
00:25:15
Speaker
And came back for the season three. And he's actually filmed it, and that'll be his final role. But he did succumb to his disease this week. So rest in peace to him.
00:25:26
Speaker
And big legendary comedic or not comedic actor loss this week, um Robert Duvall passed away. Most notably for me, i love the Godfather.
00:25:39
Speaker
um he was a huge part of the Godfather, of course. Godfather 1 and 2. He's been in a lot of stuff. Great actor. We've seen him in everything growing up.
00:25:50
Speaker
um Yeah, Apocalypse Now. i love the smell of napalm in the morning was his line. That's going to be an iconic line for top for from for time. um Yeah, rest in peace. 95 years old. Died of old age, of course. He's ah he's been around forever, so. Rest in peace to him.
00:26:08
Speaker
Let's talk some Warner Brothers Discovery news. Talks officially opened up this week. Back up with Paramount. Warner Brothers Discovery is considering reopening. Talks with Paramount, and they did. i think Netflix gave them a 10-day window to talk it over and see if they wanted to take their offer. That sounded better.
00:26:27

um The other news that came out this morning is Donald Trump called on Netflix to fire one of their board members, Susan Rice, or pay the consequences. And that's and that that's ah that's the type of stuff we were talking about, of Paramount versus Netflix, of who's better off. and that Something there does not seem right to me. um Government control, government manipulation of threats, I don't like that at all.
00:26:53
Speaker
No matter if you're left or right, that should that should worry you. um Got a brand new poster for ah for a MMA fight that I'm excited for. um i'm not sure because I know you love m MMA and um know you don't talk about the women much, but the most famous women that I know of MMA, Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano, and I only know Gina Carano from Star Wars.
00:27:16
Speaker
but I know she's great in that, and I know the fallout she had with it, but they're going have an exhibition fight, not on the UFC, but it's going to be on Netflix, done with Jake Paul's company, I believe. yeah Coming out Saturday, May 16th, and both of them have gotten in incredible shape.
00:27:33
Speaker
Gina Carano, she was a little, not pudgy, but she had gained a little bit of weight after UFC. Lost all of it and got back down to her fighting weight back when she was in the UFC. She looked stunning. And Ronda Rousey, right after her run in the WWE where she was champion, she was there for like four or five years. Done with them and back in MMA doing this fight that I know a lot of people in MMA had wanted to see for years and Dana dana White could never pull it off as far as I know.
00:28:00
Speaker
um i don't know if you I don't know. You know more about at UFC than I do. You want say anything else about it? and i pretty much i mean i don't I don't know anything about it. this matt This fight should have happened around the same time Man of Steel released.
00:28:12
Speaker
Okay. So it's a little bit too late is what you're saying. um I really... i mean, I'll watch it because it's on Netflix, so why not? Yeah, it's pretty good.
00:28:23
Speaker
I'm excited for it. As somebody on the other side, I'm excited. Two two big memes. I mean, that's what they're doing for. People that just know the names. Yeah, i mean yeah. Yep. Yeah, anybody that's a fan, I'm sure, would have ah like reservations like you like you seem to be having. but um What do we got next? Baywatch.
00:28:41
Speaker
Stephen Amell is going to lead the Fox reboot of the life Lifeguard drama. Love Stephen Amell. I know you loved Arrow. I don't know how much of a reboot it is because he's a character that was on the original show, so it's more like a sequel series. Right.
00:28:55
Speaker
I did see that there are actors coming back from the original show. so So, yeah, interesting. like He was like a kid that hung out with the lifeguards, I think, in the original show. Something like that. Now he's like, I think towards the end of this show, like he maybe became a lifeguard. I'm not sure about that character. But, yeah, apparently he's like, and like you look at IMDb, he's like the third or fourth actor listed. So, yeah, apparently he was a pretty good character. That wasn't David Hasselhoff or Pamela Anderson.
00:29:20
Speaker
Right. Yeah, have to wait and see. um All these SNL documentaries this last year, I've been talking, i've been praising them pretty highly. There's going to be a new one coming out called Lorne. All about Lorne Michaels. Comes out sometime in the spring. um And I cannot wait for it. I love the story of SNL. I love his story in particular of how he...
00:29:40
Speaker
took the the idea of the Carol Burnett show and all those variety shows of the early 70s and turned it into something different. A sketch show, a live sketch show on Saturday night, and it's been around for as long as it has for over 50 years now. Kind of remarkable for a series like that. say I cannot wait for that. comes out sometime in the spring.
00:29:58
Speaker
um Speaking of reboots and and bringing stuff from the past, Charlie's Angel movie. A new one, currently in the works at Sony. This has been rebooted, I think, twice since the series. First one was, of course, Cameron Diaz. Second one was, I think, Kristen Stewart was in it. I never saw that one. but I never knew that existed.
00:30:19
Speaker
Yeah, came out like 10 years ago, I think. ah ah yeah Speaking of McKenna Grace, she has joined the cast of Scooby-Doo as Daphne, the new live-action Netflix series. Coming in is Daphne, one of the characters of the gang. so Good for her.
00:30:34
Speaker
um Last of Us is Superman star Isabella Merced to lead a movie version of Sega's zombie video game classic The House of the Dead. Um, I don't know anything about this game, because I never, I never owned it, but I love her in The Last of Us, love her in Superman, so, um, yeah, we'll have to wait and see on that.
00:30:53
Speaker
Um, and, uh, the R-rated live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie we've been talking about the last Ronin for years now. um One of the creators, Kevin Eastman, has said that the R-rated movie has not been abandoned. They're just delaying it.
00:31:09
Speaker
And he does say that he thinks it will happen. They better hurry because the AI on Twitter is getting ridiculous. I saw this movie in a three-minute video this week, and it looks awesome with AI. AI is getting crazier, and it's only in the infancy. Imagine when it's going to be 18 months from now.
00:31:25
Speaker
So, cannot wait. we'll have to wait and see if that movie actually happens. And if the rumors are true that they're going go back to the original well from the 90s and go continuation of that, I could i could not wait for that. so yeah um ah This movie came out on my radar this week. We're going to keep a close eye on because we always talk about we need more good comedies. We need good R-rated comedies. We haven't had them in over a decade, a good one. A movie called The Shitheads.
00:31:52
Speaker
Starring Dave Franco, O'Shea Jackson, who, of course, is Ice-T's son, and Mason Thames, who is Percy Jackson, I believe. No, he's not Percy Jackson. He's in so um the new drha Dragon movies.
00:32:07
Speaker
the new dragon movies Yes. How to Train Your Dragon. Yeah, How to Train Your Dragon. um ah They're saying it's a throwback to a kind of raunchy buddy comedy that they simply don't get made anymore.
00:32:20
Speaker
um i love I love those other two. I haven't seen the guy on the right missing themes, but I love O'Shea and I love Dave Franco, of course. Baby Dave, Baby Franco, but keep an eye on that. When we see it, we'll ah talk about it.
00:32:33
Speaker
um The Star Wars sequel, The Hunt for Ben Solo. Um... Sodenberg says that they were frustrated by it. um And I don't want to get into whole the whole article about it, but um he's talking a lot about it this week. And I know there's been rumors of maybe in reinvigorating that one's Bob Iger leaves, if that's the case. But we'll have to wait and see. I would love to see it. If there's going to continuation of the saga at all, I would love to see something like that.
00:33:01
Speaker
But we'll have to wait see. We do have some new popcorn buckets for Hail Mary coming out, Project Hail Mary coming out next month. Popcorn bucket helmet, c collectible combo with a cup and and a tin. I believe that's Regal. Yes, Regal.
00:33:17
Speaker
um And we do have some swag. Swag! Stuff we all get. Come on, son. You know that's right. First piece of swag this week is this yoshi Yoshi hatching figure where it comes in an egg and it hatches. I know you've seen the dinosaurs like this all over social media, but it's actually going to be a Yoshi figure inside of one of these that kids can buy and actually hatches out of the egg.
00:33:43
Speaker
and talks to you and plays with you and everything. So love Yoshi. Love that going to be huge in the movie theaters in just a couple months from now. So cannot wait. And this is specifically for you, Kevin. Fight Club returning to theaters not only on April But on May 12th, a Blu-ray 4K steelbook is coming out with the cover of The Soap from Fight Club.
00:34:05
Speaker
ah One of your favorite movies. ah I didn't not know it was on it wasn't on 4K yet, so that's kind of awesome. um And NECA, NECA, N-E-C-A, the toy company, revealed a license agreement with McDonald's to create figures. And the first figures they're creating are Grimace, Birdie, and The Hamburglar.
00:34:26
Speaker
um I don't care about Birdie or the Hamburger, but Grimace is going to be on my fucking shelf. The purple amorphine amorphous blob. um Cannot wait for that. um I'm bringing this because I know you're caught up a lot of the Absolute series. um And I just wanted to bring it up just for record on the show of some character designs for what the Absolute Universe is doing. Of course, on the left there is Poison Ivy. On the right there is a, I believe, a continuation that's happening soon of Catwoman.
00:34:57
Speaker
Yep. Correct? I thought those looked pretty cool. And also announced this week, I thought this looked even better, their rebooting Green Arrow for the Absolute Universe. I believe that's Black Canary as well. um Looks awesome.
00:35:13
Speaker
Well, I love how they're ticking. It's not going be Oliver Quinn, I can tell you that much. Well, it's not. did not know that. No, killed him off in absolute evil. He got exactly zero pages, so it's probably going to be his sidekick, um Speedy.
00:35:27
Speaker
Okay, okay. But that does design does look dope, and I can't wait for that run. I love how they're taking DC characters and reinvigorating them, changing them to something that's never been done before. Everybody's used to seeing Green Arrow being Green Arrow, Batman being a Batman, Superman being Superman, giving them new looks, new weapons for Batman, of course. the big axe thing looks awesome. Big, huge armor looks awesome. Yeah, exciting. Announced this week, Sony is reportedly making an animated Venom movie.
00:35:56
Speaker
um Tom Hardy is involved in the production. No word on he's going to reprising the role as Eddie Brock, but it's going animated from Sony, and I heard this week it's going to be R-rated. So, what those Tom Hardy movies should have been in the first place. so yeah um Leaks, leaks, leaks abound. Spider-Man Brand New Day had a leak.
00:36:17
Speaker
Here's some photos. We talked about a little bit last week, but here's some better looks of Boomerang, Tarantula, Scorpion, the Hulk, Spider-Man. There's some marketing photos of them. And here's some more photos. There's banner that showed up.
00:36:33
Speaker
um something Something for promoting. i don't I don't know when this is coming out or what, but it seems like Destin Daniel Cretton is going back to the comic book roots for this movie, which is exciting. Looks like 70s Roots too. It's not the 60s Roots. It's like 1970s. Reminds me a lot of the cartoon as well. And we got a final first picture of Tombstone.
00:36:57
Speaker
What we believe could be Tombstone. This may ah may be leaked. It could be fake. But I'm posting here for prosperity. And we got some other art art there on the left there. But um yeah, I cannot wait to get a trailer for this. Hopefully by mid-March we'll have something. Movie comes out four months from now. So four or five months from now.
00:37:17
Speaker
So yeah, cannot wait. First synopsis from this movie came out this week. Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero. Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game, keeping New York City safe. Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into the web of a mystery larger than he's ever faced before. In order to take on what's ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past. um
00:37:49
Speaker
Cannot wait to see Tom Holland back as Spider-Man. We'll talk about that more later. And finally in news, Kevin Smith has a new comic book coming out where he goes into the Marvel Universe as Jay and Silent Bob called Jay and Silent Bob, Jay's a Future Past. And all of the, it seems like, I think I have a synopsis here, I'll read that as well.
00:38:12
Speaker
Captain, American J, and friendly neighborhood, wider man, silent Bob make a quick stop in the Marvel Universe. But when Doctor Doom decrees these jerseys these Jersey guys must die, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and the X-Men...
00:38:26
Speaker
And a whole host of heroes must team up in a joint mission to save the duo from a lethal case of superhero overload. um Kevin Smith is praising this heavily. I mean, he's huge in the comic books, has been since his childhood. um Of course, Mallrats, of course, and every every other movie after that has had comic book nods. For Christ, he had he had Stan Lee in Mallrats. So um going back to The Well, he hasn't I don't know if he's done Marvel in a while.
00:38:53
Speaker
I know he just he did something with Spider-Man Anniversary I think this summer is going to. but this is This is the big ah next big Jay and Silent Bob story. One shot coming out. Looks awesome.
00:39:05
Speaker
Cannot wait to read it when it comes out. and It's definitely on my radar. And that's it for the show this week. Thank you everybody. Next week we'll talk about the Knights of the Seven Kingdom. on The finale. Striking episode 4. Coming out on the 23rd which is tomorrow. Paradise season 2. Season 1 was great. Definitely going to watch that. Also coming out tomorrow. The fall and rise of Reggie Dinkins. This is the Tracy Morgan Daniel Radcliffe comedy on Hulu NBC. I'm going to watch that.
00:39:33
Speaker
um I know you started watching Kill Bill, The Whole Bloody Affair. going to try it to find it this week or or buy it. will depend it. And we're going talk about it next week. Also, Man on the Run comes out on Amazon Prime on the 27th. For some reason, I can't remember what that is. But on the 27th, Scream 7 comes out. That comes out on Friday. So I don't know if to see it or not. don't know if you bought tickets it. I'll just do it on Thursday. You're going see it Thursday? All right, we'll talk about it. But you'll definitely talk about it if I don't make it.
00:40:03
Speaker
