Speaker: twenty radio your gamers role da Hello and welcome to Everon Renewed, an actual play podcast set in the Everon campaign setting. I am your Game Master, Eric.
Speaker: I'm Mia. I'm Phillip. I'm Madison. I'm Jeff. Welcome to another episode. Folks, what happened last time? Emotional manipulation. Yeah, it's true.
Speaker: We were lied to. I just said I do that all the time. It was just so funny this time. They all heard the information that you got, and then you immediately lied to them. I think that was the...
Speaker: It was shocking. So we are putting off going into the woods for yet another amount of time. Literally 30 minutes. Well, no now we're in this fight. We'd have missed this whole fight if it had been in the woods. Eric had this fight planned for in the woods. yeah And then he didn't go. He's like, oh, you're getting the hawk. yeah there's There's badgers and hawks.
Speaker: Oh, my. But in the town. And allied? We'll roll that dice. We'll see. Yeah, we'll see. I think it might be three parties against each other. The folks, the hawks, the badgers.
Speaker: And you all made a new friend. A new associate. Contact. My friend. Yes, you you all met up with Nela DeVanilis and her dog, dog, wolf, Varna.
Speaker: Her puppy, Varna. Messed up wolf. Her three-eyed wolf. i little different Who likes me. Yeah. was excited about this until it opened an extra eye. ah There's no making you happy, Philip. You and eyes. You and eyes. Why would you and eyes ever make me happy?
Speaker: You cannot be trusted with eyes. there There was a panel in one of the DC Absolute comics that I was reading that they find a body that's just from the neck down covered in eyes. i was like, hey, that's something I would do.
Speaker: Anyway. Yes, we need initiative from everyone. i I asked what's... Yeah, I remember how to play this game now. It's a 14 plus That is 20. 19. 19.
Speaker: that is twenty f nineteen Dexterity. 20. 25. Okay. All right, me roll for all my things.
Speaker: Selina rushes into battle. Yeah. Great. On the side of the badgers, to be clear. It's just Grub's mom we're talking about. Oh, it's like, are badgers related? Aren't they in the same family as Rick?
Speaker: Close enough. I mean, they're little mammals. are Just a little mammal. Raccoons, I mean. Badgers are. I don't know what raccoons are. Well, you know i'm about to find out.
Speaker: Mustelids. Yeah, there's a badger right there. Yeah, badgers are, I didn't know if raccoons are. Right, right. i No, here they are not.
Speaker: Otters, wolverines, ferrets, stoats, badgers, etc. fuyoo I'm so sorry. Give me just one second. yep It's okay. I'm still Googling. Yeah. Apparently, raccoons have their own genus as there's a bunch of different kinds of raccoons.
Speaker: Who knew? So, looking at a real weird looking guy called a crab eating raccoon. Crab eating Rangoon is not what it's called. it's like I don't think that's... the I guess. heating rink New scientific discoveries every day, Kingdom. Okay.
Speaker: The initiative order is the hawk.
Speaker: Selena, Mayla, The Badgers, Kaz and Vauk, Nyx. There is no other game in the world where I can roll a 19 initiative and be last. I mean, that's just factually untrue. Yeah, campaign one, in fact. think I added 17 to my initiative rolls by the end of that.
Speaker: You can blame it on your lack of sleep. Yeah, Nyx is just a little sleepy. Okay, so we'll we'll pick up... I'm assuming you all are rushing out into the street to like fight these things off.
Speaker: That sounds like us. We'll pick up the fight with you all being outside. ah So the Hawks' only targets aren't just the citizens of Jark. So...
Speaker: The Hawk is going to dive bomb um at you all. It will target Nyx. So as this thing dives down towards you all, you see coming up from the ground and like making a wake behind this Hawk are rocks. What?
Speaker: This is ability called Rock Slide. This is a Pokemon. it This wouldn't fit in your pocket. Well, Neither would a whale lord be serious, Eric. why yeah close it all Even those get smaller, but you know.
Speaker: Anyway.
Speaker: So it is going to make an attack on Nyx. Ooh, that is a bad roll. That is only 13 to hit. Oh, that does not hit. So as its claws come down to try and strike Nyx, Nyx steps under an awning. It tears this awning and the rocks that were in its wake shower down like a mini meteor strike and just like dirt kicks up everywhere.
Speaker: where are the rocks coming from? They were coming up the they're from the ground and then they're showering down. Like, what's yeah happening? Like, like the the hawk can pull the rocks up to it. Well, like, up into the air. Yes. They're not like, okay, I was picturing, like, rocks just sort of bursting out of, what mean? Like, they're being pulled up into the air and then, okay, that's much worse.
Speaker: Yeah. Salada. This town is being destroyed. Yeah. If y'all don't act quickly. All right, we're going to try freezing strike against the hog.
Speaker: Okay. 20 versus AC. 20 versus AC is a hit. Yay. Okay, great. 34. What was that? 34 damage. Oh, plus...
Speaker: thirty or what was that thirty four damage oh ohla yeah plus 11 cold damage and the target is stuck so that would be 45 damage and it's stuck yep what does this look like selena when you hit this hawk that is doing a flyby attack and freeze it into place i think it freezes but does not fall like it's frozen and stuck in the air okay the hawk is freaked out
Speaker: Mela is also confused, but impressed by this. So she is going to pull out her longbow, knock an arrow, and she's going to shoot at one of the badgers. That is regatta. Good roll. That hits. do And then Barna is going to rush towards the same badger that she just shot
Speaker: and attack it.
Speaker: um
Speaker: that is a natural one so barna beefs is attacked
Speaker: And it did not hit the Badger, so that does not activate. So it is now the Badger's turn. So one of the Badgers is going to rush up to the group of you, including Mela, and it's going to be able to target three of you with this attack.
Speaker: So it will be... Selena is clearly a threat, and we'll do Kaz and Valk since they haven't been targeted yet. the badger opens its mouth and uses its burning breath ability on you. So it shoots fire out of its mouth at the three 19 versus physical defense for each of you.
Speaker: and and Yes. Kaz, does that hear you? I'm sorry. One more time. 19. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Is the in on fire now? No, that is only the five fire damage to each you.
Speaker: Um.
Speaker: John's.
Speaker: Okay. It, it, oh, the other badgers, the, uh, other badger that Barna just tried to attack is just gonna attack Barna back. So it's gonna try to bite Barna. That is a 14, which misses.
Speaker: Okay. And then the last one is going to rush up and try to attack Nyx. Good grief. That is only a 11 versus AC. Nope. Okay.
Speaker: Uh, Nick's I will say that um And all of you at this point, because a couple of badges have rushed up to you all. Uh, you feel a strong amount of heat emanating from these badgers to the point where you kind of know that if you are engaged with the badger, when it starts its next turn, there will be some ambient damage that you take.
Speaker: And the heat is so oppressive that it might impact your ability to heal as well. So you said we all glean that. Yes. Okay. Philip looks like you were going to ask me something.
Speaker: i was curious, how does um how does a fire resistance react with that kind of thing? Because normally a resistance is based on the natural roll that ah someone one makes.
Speaker: Yeah, that's good. I will look at that while Kaz takes Kaz's turn. Sure. Okay. So Kaz is going to...
Speaker: When the badger attacks the three of us, Valk, Saleta, and myself, Kaz just kind of goes inward for a second. And the only thing he can think is that he doesn't want us to get hurt at that moment. And it channels his trace of the divine.
Speaker: i randomly rolled um a spell, and we each get 20 temporary hit points, Valk, Saleta, and Kaz. 20? whoa yeah Yeah, it's a third level cleric spell that I get to pick one to date every full heal up.
Speaker: I roll for one randomly. That's wild. That is a quick action. And Kaz was thinking about pulling out his little dagger and stabbing for his standard action. But he's hot and now thinks better of it. And so I'm just going to move out of the way of this badger with my...
Speaker: If I use standard action instead of a move, I can't remember if there's opportunity attacks in this system. we don't i don't come i don't get close enough to know about that very often. So can I just get out of the way? Will that incur some sort of attack?
Speaker: So you need to make a disengage save. Okay. So when you try to move. So the way disengage works is if you pass this save, then you are able to move as you would.
Speaker: If you don't, then you can still move, but that would take up your standard action to do so. You've already used your standard action. So in this case, you just won't be. has not. like That is a quick action. action That's that spells a quick action. Yes.
Speaker: Yeah. I'm just confirming that I am reading this all disengaged.
Speaker: So, okay, you can move and just draw an opportunity attack if you want. If you don't care, then you can just draw the basic attack. um If your disengaged check succeeds, then you move without drawing an opportunity attack. If you fail it, then you don't get to move.
Speaker: So, yeah. Oh, okay. That's... Do I get to know what I need to hit on the disengaged check? It is just a standard check, so 11 or higher. And it uses my dexterity modifier?
Speaker: No modifier. Oh, that's right. Standard check means no. I think I would just suffer an opportunity attack then, and I'm going to run back from these badgers. Okay.
Speaker: in the In the direction of the hawk is not. Okay. then the badger is going to take a swipe at you with its claw. That is only a 16 versus AC.
Speaker: That ties. So remind me. So that does hit. Yeah. So five fire damage. Okay. I will take that. Flashes you in the back.
Speaker: And then let's see what happens at the end of my turn, because I did pull attack, which means weirdness. Just so you know, if you try to disengage from a badger again, this is for everyone.
Speaker: I just see that they have an ability called persistent predator. When an enemy disengages from a badger, the badger rolls a save on a success. The badger can immediately move to engage that enemy as a free action. oh So even if you would have succeeded, it could have just immediately said, nope, and chased you.
Speaker: Got it. All right. So real quick, I don't take flight, but ironically I gain bonus to disengage check till the end of my next turn. Nice. But yeah, that's at the end of the turn, so it wouldn't matter. And for weirdness, the old 66, which is the old 66.
Speaker: Which means I have to roll a D8. It's the dumbest character built.
Speaker: You get to use all your dice. i That's true. I just gain the dark elf's cruel racial power. So I'll look up what that is. Okay.
Speaker: Kaz is feeling a little malicious towards these badgers. better believe it. Did you use your standard action that turn? I guess I didn't, no. Because I decided to like just shoot something. I guess I do. throw Yeah. jagger i Well, that would throw a dagger. i do have ah I do have a small crossbow. So I guess I will draw it and fire.
Speaker: think it's like... Oh, I did take a thing that allows me to use my dex modifier for this. That's a 26 to hit. The badger that attacked me, which means I do... Where's the d4? 10 points of arrow damage.
Speaker: Nice. Okay. Valk. I have to gain my focus. Okay. And that's my turn. Would you like to move away from the badger? but No, because it can chase me anyways, and my defense is already low.
Speaker: so It has to it hasn to pass his save, so I'm just saying. It's not a guarantee that it will, but... I will move away from the inn. Pick it. So you're just positioning yourself to where the isn't like in... Is not directly behind me.
Speaker: Okay. Cool. Nyx, you have a badger right in front of you and a hawk frozen right near you. I will strike at the badger that tried to bite me. So Nyx summons her sword and attacks for twenty two That hits.
Speaker: Wonderful. 25 damage. 25 damage. Okay. And the way this is a very inelegant solution, but it is the solution that is in the system.
Speaker: If you are ever taking damage that is not triggered by an attack roll, you just fake an attack roll. Like we just roll a d20 to kind of see where that Okay. ah That is relevant because as you slash at this thing, magma shoots out of its skin and gets Sure it does.
Speaker: yeah ah So we're going to fake a roll to see if this overcomes your resistance. I'm so glad I said this town is going to be destroyed. What was the number? It only rolled a natural paint.
Speaker: So, okay. So it does not overcome my resistance. How much damage I got before maybe six damage. damage Okay. sorry you Got it. And are you going to try to disengage next? Are you staying up all this thing?
Speaker: Nope. Okay.
Speaker: Sorry. How much damage was that? That you dealt 25, 25 hot Okay. twenty five hot do okay That is the end of the first round. So escalation die.
Speaker: Is it a one? I must remember to add that. Yes. Please add a plus one. The hawk. How long is the hawk stuck for, Selena? The save ends. save ends and that comes at the end of its turn so it is going to it is going to use its mending earth ability as its standard action this turn so some of the rocks and soil come up and get underneath the ice and you see the massive slash that you left in this thing selena starts to get filled in with earth and rock
Speaker: And I hate when it's like it heals this percentage of its max hit points because now I got maths to do. um Just tell us what the max hit points are and we'll do the math for you.
Speaker: Whichever is higher. I was being genuine. I like math. I hate math. You don't like maths? Isn't it? Okay, now it's going to make it save to try and get unstuck.
Speaker: It does not. It like fights against the ice. And it is unable to move. I do want to apologize to our singular British listener that I think we have. Ophelia. Okay.
Speaker: Ophelia is recompensed. You can make fun of Texans all you want. that's that You can just come back at us with that. Hey, wait a minute. To allow them to make fun of Oklahomans would expect that Oklahomans are known about in the outside world.
Speaker: Yeah, if they tried to make fun of Oklahomans, they would just be making fun of Texans. but Just not realizing it. Anyway, sorry, Philip, to disparage your very good state. It is Selena's turn.
Speaker: Okay, let's do burning leash on the badger that attacked me. Okay. you
Speaker: That is a 20 against physical defense. 20 against physical defense. That succeeds.
Speaker: Awesome. What was your natural roll, Selena? ten okay 10. 10, okay. Okay, and then that'll be 23 damage.
Speaker: Is that fire damage? Yes. Okay. It only takes 12 damage. Yeah. I bet that might happen. Yes. You you slash into it Burning Leash, is there any additional effects on it?
Speaker: Takes a minus five penalty to disengage from me, and it can't pop free or teleport. When it attempts to disengage, it takes 2d6 fire damage. Dang.
Speaker: Okay. So a massive leash of fire wraps around this a badger's neck that is attached to Selena. Mayla is going to go now. Who all took damage? Everyone took damage, right?
Speaker: Lisa. Yeah, I did so.
Speaker: Who took the most damage? Oh, well, it talk about net damage. The three of us got 20 temporary hit points, which certainly helps us out. Gotcha.
Speaker: So Nyx did not get that. Very well. So Nyx did not start out with full hit points. Ah. All right. Mela is going to cast regeneration on Nyx, so she raises a hand.
Speaker: Nyx changes form. I'm worried about the terminology there. Oh, this is actually an interrupt at the start of your turn. Nevermind. This will come on your turn. Next.
Speaker: It's a rude heal, but wait.
Speaker: and by
Speaker: Okay, she is going to cast. She reaches her hand back towards the trees that like on the edge of this town and they begin to shake and she like throws her hand forward and you see a giant cloud of acorns come flying through the air at the badger that is engaged with all three badgers actually.
Speaker: Well, now let me roll and make sure. Oh, this is going to make the big squirrel so mad. fifty She tacked two badgers. So she's do the one. Acorns are going get toasted though. Oh yeah.
Speaker: Yummy. Now acorns are actually very bitter. i I saw someone try to make acorn tea and apparently it was just. Yeah, but that was rough. Why would that be good? I don't know.
Speaker: Sometimes people just try things, Philip. They were out of pine needles and just whatever. What's the next planty thing on the ground? Okay. Versus their physical defense. That does hit their physical defense.
Speaker: So they're each going to take 10 damage. damage just these acorns flying like like they were shot out of a sling. Like they are like booking it. Oh, wait. Wrong. And in fact, I think that was enough.
Speaker: ah The badger in front of Nyx topples over. And it drops to the ground. Barna is going to attack the one in front of him. That is still a very bad roll, Barna. Barna. Barna.
Speaker: I'm gonna need you to get it together. Poor Puffy. That is only 14 versus AC. Yep, not good enough. It is now the Badger's turn. So the Badger in front of Barna is going to attack Barna. That is a lot.
Speaker: Barna. That sounded disingenuous, but. And that was a natural even hit, so he gets to make an extra attack. Okay. And the one in front of the three of you, it is going to...
Speaker: Oh, start of its turn. Sorry, Valk, Selena, you all did not move away from the badger. So you all take four fire damage.
Speaker: have day And it's going make its breath attack, but it rolled a natural one. Because my dice suck. it oh Swapping it out. Okay.
Speaker: That's all the badgers since that one's dead. Kaz. Yes. but What? What does the hawk look like, though it is stuck? Like, it's still you know, I don't know. Maybe that's a question for Selena. What does a stuck hawk look like? It's still menacing us, right? Like, it's still pretty much obviously threat. Yeah, mean, got wings back. It's got its talons out. It was, like, hit mid-attack kind of thing is what I'm visualizing.
Speaker: I don't think Kaz is shooting for being the most honorable combatant right now, so I'm going to hit the Stuck Hawk with my Force Tentacle. And where typically it is the image of something that has frightened him recently that comes out, this time it's just that red-tailed hawk screech as a beam of light shoots from the sleeve beneath his wrist.
Speaker: Let's see. That is 19... No, 20. no twenty Sorry. Round 2 versus what? 20 versus physical defense. That is a hit. Okay. Then we're going to do 8. 14. 22 points of force damage. And... yeah that's it. Nothing special about this one. It's just an attack.
Speaker: So there we go. I do 22 points of force damage to the hawk. And... And that's it. What does it look like when this kills the hawk?
Speaker: I guess it just kind of falls out of the sky. but I mean, it's released from its stuck condition, so it's an even sadder, more dramatic falling out of the sky as it kind of does that that that bird of prey tumble kind of thing. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker: And again, I have no remorse. We don't seem to have remorse for small or well animals kind of perishing. But when they attack me, the sprites didn't perish. They were never allowed to begin with. theyre It's debatable.
Speaker: still This bird also didn't ever attack Kaz. The bird attacked, though. There's no getting around that. And it is now Valk's turn. i will use a quick action to use Karmic Rebuke on the Badger.
Speaker: Which one? The Badgers. The one that is bullying the dog. Okay. Okay. That is a natural 20. Yeah. That's the best one.
Speaker: Plus it's 28. that is L.A.S. a troops tu What does it look like when Karmic Rebuke kills this badger? i want it to kind of... Yep.
Speaker: Has it been? it It's been hit. So we've seen, have we seen magma out of it yet? Yeah. Yeah. So I think I want like that magma to start to seep out, but then cover the ah badger and then Arden.
Speaker: Oh. just And suffocates itself. Entombed by its own petard. Okay. hope that's all right. And then are you use your standard action to regain your focus? Yes. Okay. Nyx, start of your turn. Mayla is going to interrupt your turn to cast regeneration. So you can heal using a recovery. Roll your recovery dice, but then don't add anything yet.
Speaker: That is... 714. That's 20. Okay. You can only heal 10.
Speaker: But then at the start of your next turn, you get to heal with a free recovery. Same thing deal roll round down to half. And then after that next turn, you make a saving throw.
Speaker: And if you succeed, you get to continue healing every turn, as long as you continue to succeed on the save. That's neat. But it's always half and you only have to use one recovery, but it's always half the, uh, hit points.
Speaker: So Nix is going to attack whatever badger remains. Okay, the one with the leash around its neck in front of select. Okay, the one with the leash around its neck.
Speaker: I'm gonna be lot a lot. 30. 30, that hits. It's exactly the same roll. Oh, that's gonna be 25 again. 25. How do you kill this badger, Nyx?
Speaker: Uh, Nick, it's, it's nothing fancy. Nick's, you know, once the badger that was menacing her is gone, Nick's race is over and, since the badger's not facing her, just rushes forward and shoves her blade between its ribs into the heart and back out.
Speaker: Okay. Once again, you take three fire damage. Uh, and sorry, Selina, when you slashed the badger, uh, with your sword with the burning leash, you should have taken six fire damage. okay All right. All of the combatants are down.
Speaker: ah So things grow quiet. People, uh, like kind of look around, i scared that something else might be coming out of the woods. Barna runs up to Mela and Mela like squats down and begins giving him pets and pulls some treats out of her bag. it stick Saying you really didn't prove your weight out there. Pull your weight out there next time, buddy. It's okay. Don't feel bad.
Speaker: It's because that third eye is disorienting. It wasn't open during the fight. I mean, There's nothing really to investigate here, right? Like, there are giant animals.
Speaker: I suppose we might be worried as to why they got flushed out of the forest, but it may just be because everything's so big in there now. This is new, right? We were specifically told there hadn't been any, like, animals coming into the town and harming people.
Speaker: Correct, yeah. it's I would be sure that this is work of our wandsmiths. I would assume so, especially as they are now elementally infused. And something that we... Mela speaks up at that and says it they could also be of Lamania. um A lot of animals have elemental infusions when they are native to Lamania.
Speaker: Yeah, we remember. Oh, beautiful. You encountered one before? Burrowing lions. Oh. Interesting.
Speaker: it It was so weird. That's a fun combination. It was not. Theoretically, maybe. in practice, less fun.
Speaker: I thought it was amusing. but read look but but A lion with lightning, that seems much more like normal. Burrowing Lion. That's interesting. Like this hawk with Earth Elemental powers. A flying creature with Earth Elemental. That's an odd combination.
Speaker: Nyx starts scraping bits of magma off her armor. I think they can handle the cleanup. Nyx, you can heal another, go and roll another recovery. I'm back at max of HP at this point. Oh, cool. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: I am also gonna roll a recovery. yeah One should give me up to where I need to be. yeah and also everyone, make your rolls if you have any spells that... Yes, we're good....free us.
Speaker: Temp hit points go away. ah hope they help somebody. Well, this seems like a disturbing escalation with the yeah current situation. Yeah. We're not gonna encounter less of that, I assume, when we go in the forest.
Speaker: So... No, if you're just stumbling about willy-nilly, then you'll encounter it a lot more frequently. If you know how to avoid them, then you can get around some of these types of creatures. Which is why you're the best, right?
Speaker: You're going to help us avoid the hot magma badgers and dogs. Hot magma badgers in your area. Ah!
Speaker: ah I want her to success. Wow. Have the inappropriately timed jokes be for a weird thing. Oh, spectacularly stupid.
Speaker: So good.
Speaker: That's the warning sign that the city watcher now is putting putting up hot magma badgers in your area. Like I said, I was planning on going out into the woods on my own to investigate. So if you wish to travel together, i imagine that would keep us both safer as long as your companions are willing to allow me to journey with you. Yeah, sure. That's great.
Speaker: You are certainly the least objectionable of Kat Valk's friends we've met so far. it that that That was internal. that one was internal that was ah That's what I'm going to tell Valk later. I was about to trauma dump. I was bullied by Giselle. Now she found me.
Speaker: Giselle is a joint friend with Selena. Giselle also needs Selena.
Speaker: It's fun when you find out your social circles overlap with your friends. Yeah, so fun. That social circle. It's the nasty one. Well, when were you all planning on departing? No.
Speaker: I would say pretty quickly, given the escalation. I'm literally checking to see if any of the spells I used were once dailies. I'm pretty sure we're good, so All right. You all can give me a wisdom-based insighty check to do a read on Meila. Can I use Zoriat for investigator?
Speaker: Investigator. Okay. 19. 23. 24, yeah. Low 20s. Hang on. Sorry, I'm on the wrong table. 22. Okay.
Speaker: okay 22, you all notice with a 19 being the Lotus role that she doesn't say anything and she's not even doing it way that's like, I want you all to notice this, but you all do note.
Speaker: The fact that Nyx hasn't said anything to Meila yet is making her a little uncomfortable. Like she's, she's like glancing at Nyx occasionally, just like waiting for Nyx to say anything, but yeah.
Speaker: All right, well, I will, I left my pack inside, but I will go gear and armor up and then I'll be ready to go. Sounds good. Okay. Okay. I will step inside and prepare.
Speaker: She walks back inside the animal. Can I just check and see if there's anything other unusual with the animals? Yeah, you can give me a intelligence check to take a look. 21. 21. These, so...
Speaker: twenty two one twenty one these so The fact that there are four of these large elementally infused animals in a group that you all encountered on the material plane is very odd.
Speaker: Valk, um, typically you might get one creature of this type to break through in an area like every couple years, if there's like a really vibrant manifest zone of Lamania.
Speaker: So the fact that four have broken through something is starting to go very wrong. ah The elementally infused animals tend to be a bit more aggressive. They don't hunt people, but they certainly are territorial and more easily scared into violence.
Speaker: Um, as opposed to just a a, mundane squirrel, that's the size of a Buick is just gonna try to get acorns from a tree and be disappointed that they're so small on the material plane.
Speaker: So yeah, this is, these are a type of creature that it is very rare to break through and a lot more of them are breaking through. It seems then, but importantly, you do not detect any kind of like manufactured alteration on these creatures.
Speaker: Somebody didn't turn them into this. that's I think Kaz is going to do just a quick check in with Nyx and just be like, Hey, you, you good? Fine. Okay. The vibe I'm picking up is that...
Speaker: Oh gosh, I just lost her name but I didn't write it down. Who's our new friend? Mela. Mela. Mela. Say hi or something when she comes down. Introduce yourself.
Speaker: Why? We're going into the woods with her and we're going to be counting on each other. Just, you know, little... I don't know. It's, I don't want to say it's good. Kaz is not going to say it's good manners. That'd be an insane thing to say to Nyx. Mind your P's and P's, Nyx. Say hi to our new friend.
Speaker: She needs to be able to trust us and be comfortable with us so that if something does happen, we can all work together well. And it seems like maybe...
Speaker: She could use that since the rest of us have all kind of spoken with her, at least. That's all. You do what you want, I guess.
Speaker: She seems trustworthy and competent and safe to be around, unlike some other people that we have worked with in the past. Good. Okay.
Speaker: Sick talk. Are we in a place with drinks? king You're outside in inn. It's a bar. Yes. I could repeat if we had gone back in. ah it It is, however, like 10 in the morning.
Speaker: Water's a drink. We were just around hot magma badgers. we need Maybe a glass of water would be a good idea. For me, I know you've got your whole thing. I think I know that.
Speaker: I may have inferred that. Aren't you resistant? to Oh. Oh, to fire. Yes. No, your intolerance of water is what I was talking about. Your hydropopia. thought I missed something.
Speaker: Nyx doesn't drink, so she usually drinks water. yeah yeah so Nyx has rabies. She's scared of water. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: So, do you all so you all go back inside? I've been investigating the animals. I don't know how long that was would have taken, so I wouldn't have been back inside. I do think, yeah, I think Kaz pops back in. We're not leaving immediately, and Kaz could use a quick, like, glass of water.
Speaker: Stabilize a bit. Okay. Um...
Speaker: yeah
Speaker: um
Speaker: Okay. So after a bit of time, Kaz, you see, Milo walk back out from a back area. ah She is now wearing leather armor. Her, she has a fighting knife on her hip and a bow on her back.
Speaker: Um, and she, she looks a lot more ready for a fight now and ready to try to do the woods with you all. Um, I think I just kind of got good.
Speaker: i I was like, I have a a retroactive question. Okay. I forgot to ask.
Speaker: We did not go into the forest. Correct. Would that be considered convincing reluctant allies to follow their plan? mean, she literally said, I was going to go into the woods anyway, so we can roll together if you want. Oh.
Speaker: Nick's in the group. He is talking about the lion. But you were the only one that didn't want to go into the woods until you lied to them all, right? Or am I misremembering that? No, wouldn't into Well, i don't know if anyone wanted to, but... You convinced everyone to hold off on going into the woods, what you're saying.
Speaker: Gotcha. I think we all we were all ready to to go into the woods. Yeah, I thought we were walking that way. yeah Next, yeah. That is true. yeah Bad book. I don't know what you expected.
Speaker: hey No, no, that's fine. I'm going to say no in this instance because no nobody was really eager to hold off on going into the woods. All I'm sorry.
Speaker: Okay. So I kind of saddle in with like if she's walking back out to me with everybody, I kind of slide in alongside her and we walk out together and just kind of say like,
Speaker: Hey, we all appreciate you going out there with us. We're glad that we're you able to go out there with you. However you want to look at this. I hope that we've shown you that we're capable. Yes. Yeah. Great. And I'm excited to learn from you how to not have to do that again if we can avoid it.
Speaker: Me too. Fighting large elemental beasts is not my forte. So I'm very eager to avoid any further fights. But yeah, you've also shown, you have shown yourself to be quite capable and hopefully I can display the same thing.
Speaker: Yeah, I didn't know it was my forte, but it seems like it might be. You handled yourself quite well. So anything that you all want to do before heading out into the woods? Yeah. Think of a new phrase for what we're doing because the song keeps playing in my head.
Speaker: I was about to say into the woods. It's time to go. Yeah. Let's do it. At home before dark. We have to leave. I have to know. All right. Thank you all so much for listening. Phillip, don't shake your head.
