Speaker: Hi everyone, it's Sine, also known as Sine Stiletto, your host of the Circuspreneur Podcast. And I'm coming on here today to share something personal and something I've been holding close for a long time.
Speaker: Over the last few years, I've had the honor of building the Circuspreneur podcast and, you know, using this platform to spotlight circus artists and independent creators and small business owners, you know, people doing the real work it takes to keep our communities moving.
Speaker: And during that same time, I've also been in rooms I never expected to be in, meeting with legislators, community leaders, and organizations across the country.
Speaker: advocating for protections for performers, families, and young people in the arts. And what all of it has shown me is this. So many of the people who hold our communities together are the most vulnerable when life hits hard.
Speaker: And that's working parents, small business owners, artists and independent contractors, and retirees and caregivers. People who do everything right, but are still one emergency away from losing stability.
Speaker: And I've lived that. um I know what it feels like to work hard and still feel like there's no safety net beneath you. So after a lot of thought, a lot of prayer,
Speaker: and a lot of conversations with people I trust. A lot. I'm officially announcing that I'm running for Nevada State Assembly District 22.
Speaker: That is Henderson and parts of Green Valley Ranch and Cadence. And I'm running because every family deserves a safety net.
Speaker: A safety net that protects working people, that supports small businesses, that keeps kids safe, and that ensures our community can thrive even when times get tough.
Speaker: And I want to be clear about something. I'm still an artist. I'm still a performer. I'm still a small business owner. And I'm still, you know, deeply committed to the arts community.
Speaker: i always will be. But I'm stepping forward into public service because i believe leadership should reflect the real work people do every day and not just politics.
Speaker: This campaign is rooted in listening, accountability, and community first leadership. And if you'd like to follow the campaign, share the announcement, or support what we're building, you can visit shanae4nevada.com.
Speaker: Thank you for being here with me, circuspreneurs. Thank you for believing in the power of the arts and the power of community because that's what we've been building these past several years.
Speaker: I'm your host, Shanae Stiletto. Thank you for tuning in to this mini-announcement episode. And please stay tuned for the next episode of the Circuspreneur Podcast because it's coming.
Speaker: yeah
