Tristan Amundson: Miles. The only thing necessary. for the triumph of evil. is for good men to do nothing. Miles I'd like to think that I'm a good man I'd like to think that um I'm willing to stand up for what's right. And I'm going to make a statement right now on on the air. You're not prepared for this, but I i feel like I have to.

Tristan Amundson: i don't feel like you I don't want you to feel like you have to rush into the fray with me on this. but I'm just going to say it out loud. The San Diego Superchargers. The LA Chargers, it was a mistake. They never should have moved. They turned their back on an entire fan base.

Tristan Amundson: Um, the The ownership group is terrible. And they were selfish and money -grubbing. And they've made a grave mistake. And I will not. I refuse. to refer to them as the LA Chargers. I know it doesn't offend any fan because there is no fan in Los Angeles that is thinking to themselves, I'm a fan of the Chargers. Why would you be?

Tristan Amundson: And so i'm I'm going to take a stand, Miles. And i again, I'm not asking you to get on this ledge with me. There's going to be a ton of arrows. um I might. I mean, listen, I'm basically calling out a billionaire. So who knows? Maybe my life is now forfeit.

Tristan Amundson: I don't care. I'm gonna do the right thing. We gotta stand up to oppression. We gotta stand up. um to these evil forces in the world. And. um I'm calling them out. San Diego Superchargers.

Tristan Amundson: How you doing, my friend?

M dub: Tristan, it's good to be with you. I really appreciate you. focusing on this issue as you were talking there i couldn't help but think of just the musicality San Diego Chargers. Something about those words. It it just flows.

M dub: By contrast. Los Angeles Chargers. there's some There's too many S's. There's something. i'm I'm jumping over hurdles. Los Angeles Chargers.

M dub: How about this for a change? San Diego Chargers. there that doesn't it that It flows better. just as a I think that points to the right decision, right? It flows. better that way. Am I wrong?

Tristan Amundson: No, you're you're totally right. and And what I would just say to your point is. your soul really quickly tells you what's right and what's wrong. you know It's kind of like when you're a little kid.

Tristan Amundson: and you know that you took the ice cream when mom told you no more ice cream and you know or you know you get your literally your hand caught in the cookie jar and you know you did wrong and and at those moments it's important to be open it's important to acknowledge the wrong and and move on and obviously this is the wrong that hasn't been acknowledged for a long time so um you know kind of as typical of the podcast we're blazing trails that no one else is willing to do

Tristan Amundson: um you know nfl network yeah espn they're all in the in the pockets of of the ownership but um it takes Sometimes it takes a little guy, you know, just to to stand up for what's right and stand with the people. And, um you know, as we have the midterm elections coming up, I think that's it's a theme. Miles, you know, stand with the people. um That's the beauty of our. democracy of our republic.

Tristan Amundson: Um, The United States has no king, it needs no king. you know just like the the um You know, just the... the the statement that it is. It's an important thing. So thank you for standing with me. Miles, can I um transition us now into this game? Bye.

Tristan Amundson: Zane. the most beautiful word in the English language and a word that we got to use almost immediately in this game. that was I'm not going to call it the turning point because this was such an ugly game that we watched on Sunday, but.

Tristan Amundson: It really is a beautiful word, Miles, and the word is muffed. and um muffed the most beautiful word in the English language. And we got to experience that. really quickly in the favor of the Seahawks on Sunday.

M dub: Tristan, yes, we did. i Speaking of musicality of phrases, that actually is something that I was thinking about during this game. No joke. I was like, we we have to have ah ah a better word for this. ah For for one of the most one of the most exciting plays in this exciting sport that we watch, we've got to have...

M dub: ah but yeah A punt scramble or a, we just, we we have to turn the tide here.

Tristan Amundson: Buff.

M dub: um Yes, Tristan, the Seahawks won this game. over the Los Angeles Chargers, San Diego Chargers.

Tristan Amundson: Thank you.

M dub: 20, excuse me, 30 to 23. This was a game that was defined by the 30 penalty flags that were... thrown during it.

M dub: I kept... the i kept i did I was thinking about, I don't even want to say it. muff I was thinking about that phrase. And another thing I was thinking about during this game was.

M dub: is there will be no evidence of this game at the at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. there There is not going to be any... The Pro Football Hall of Fame will bury any evidence that this game took place. Looks innocent.

M dub: From the scoreboard, 30 -23. That looks like business as usual. As we all know, everybody who endured this, this was not business as usual. A very annoying victory. So many flags that got to the pole. I don't know about you, Tristan.

M dub: In the second half, fourth quarter of this game. I didn't even want the penalties that were getting called on the Chargers, which there were many. About. 90 % of the penalties that were called on the Seahawks. But at a certain point, I was like, I just can't see this referee anymore.

M dub: You don't need to give the Seahawks 10 more yards on this. Let's let's just get on with this. Did you get to that breaking point like I did?

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, I mean, man, it was. It was such a difficult game to watch. i would So most of the time, most Sundays. I like to.

Tristan Amundson: You know, just watch the Seahawks game and then, you know, watch red zone maybe later on. Right. So if the Seahawks are in the early window. red zone, you know, in the later window or or vice versa. this game um based off of where i live and again this is um the idiocy of the nfl based off of blackouts i had the red zone available to me but i did not have the seahawks available because um the super city that now

Tristan Amundson: ah the Chargers claim alliance to, but have no alliance with. um los angeles and so i'm because i'm in that greater metroplex i i did not have access to this game um because why would you want people that live in an area to be able to watch a game in that area easily. um You don't want that. yeah It's, you know, it's really brilliant. um by our friends at the NFL. Anyhoo.

Tristan Amundson: um So that what that forced me to do. And I will say in this case, it was great miles. It forced me to watch this game via red zone. And i can can I tell you this? This was a great red zone game. This was the best red zone game I've ever watched because.

Tristan Amundson: It comes back on. Oh, look, there's a muffed punt. He comes back on. Oh, look at, you know, there's an Emmanuel Wilson touchdown. There's a Torrey Horton touchdown. Hey, Seahawks look great. Oh, look at the score.

Tristan Amundson: You know, we're up. What were we up at one point? It was like.

M dub: 27 -6 at the start of the second half.

Tristan Amundson: We're up. 27. OK, so it's like you're seeing it in those spurts and you're thinking, this is great. um So I walked away from this game in real time.

Tristan Amundson: Not really knowing there is a lot of penalties and just being like. man it's weird that san diego came back but you know what i knew we had this one in the bag it had all the good feelings and then that evening i watched it on NFL Network, you know, the condensed version, watched every play, went through the whole thing, took a few notes.

Tristan Amundson: And. Man. That is when the slog really began for me, Miles. It was, I mean, it's just. Holy smokes. I got to say it was an evenly. officiated game. like There was no favoritism. It was everyone is going to the laundromat today.

M dub: Yes, that is true. It was evenly officiated. i was I took it in raw, and I was a little bit frustrated that we couldn't get from the broadcast. Just the definitive, here are the most penalties that have ever been called in an NFL game. And and are we approaching that? because By golly, it sure does feel like it.

M dub: I tied myself on the internet, Tristan, and what I found was not... Probably the strongest database that a broadcast has to go to in order to like officially put a graphic up, but I timed myself.

M dub: And in three short minutes on. on Google. uh i'm even gonna cite my sources here here's what i found because the question is a little more complicated actually than that because there are penalties and then there are accepted penalties so here's what my three minutes of of information ah By three minutes of research found, it will take about three minutes for you. It's taking about three minutes for me to tell you this.

M dub: Fox Sports article in 2017. The Expansion Bowl, Seahawks versus Buccaneers back in 1976. There were 39 total flags. with 35 of them accepted.

M dub: And then a Yahoo Sports article from just last year. If we go back to 1952, a classic game between the Bears and the Browns, we had 37 total flags.

M dub: There were 30 in this game. so I think that we had the tidbit from the broadcast at the end. There had only been about 13 games in NFL history. with 30 or more flags that tells you.

Tristan Amundson: we're gonna make sure.

M dub: what kind of rare air we are in. I think there's more than two. 12 you know like super bowl blowouts by 20 points i mean this is so rare Uh... and so very rare but also not even close to the record uh shockingly enough

Tristan Amundson: Man, yeah. that I mean, it was... You just imagine Adding two or three or four or five more flags to this game. I mean. It's almost unimaginable because it was, yeah, I feel like I was on a first name basis with that with that chief, um that crew chief there for for the NFL, for the refs. um he must have been getting kind of tired of it it's it is interesting coach talked about afterwards

Tristan Amundson: How they prep for these different kinds of. referee. crews right and they they knew going into into it that this crew threw a lot of flags and they knew um Because apparently this was the same crew for the Kansas City preseason game. So they they had all of that information.

Tristan Amundson: um And it kind of made me wonder, like, what do you do with that? like Like they they didn't ask coach the question. I wish they did a little deeper. Like, okay, you need to know that information. I get it.

Tristan Amundson: And you need to prep your players that, hey, these guys throw a lot of flags. I'm kind of curious like what the actual takeaway is, though. like From one. like How do you tell your players to play slightly differently from one game to another, from one referee crew to another?

Tristan Amundson: you know, like. This judge is a little more lenient versus this judge, but I still need you to to do the right thing. I still need you to. perform your duties. So I don't really know.

Tristan Amundson: ah i'm curious what the coaching point is when you prep your team for a flag you know friendly um uh referee crew um maybe there isn't really a great one because you still need to play aggressive and do all the things um do do should we talk about a few of these flags miles um kind of dig into them because to me there was I mean a lot of personal. fouls A lot of... um

Tristan Amundson: a lot of 15 yarders. But to me, there was three that really stood out that. made the took this game from a laugher to... Um, you know, to to to actually, you know, a one possession game.

M dub: Yeah, I am interested in the ones that stood out to you because it was all a mush to me. chris Can I break down in the second half how much the penalties affected like the Chargers' offensive flow and what it was like before?

M dub: Because it was there was already a lot of flags in the first half.

Tristan Amundson: who Please do. ah

M dub: In the second half, we took it to another level. you know

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, please do

M dub: Yeah, and so I'm interested to see, hear from you after this, like which which ones were most impactful to you? Because i could none of them really stood out to me. But yeah here's how the game flow went.

M dub: Chargers' first nine drives. ah How about this dark side defense? Nine drives, Chargers get six points out of it. That's two field goals. none of the drives go longer than 50 yards and there's also two turnovers in the mix there we got We should mention, I'll just by the way.

M dub: The game opens with two consecutive interceptions. where We're past that. The flags overwhelmed that crazy moment. so The Chargers have a... That game -opening interception, and then EJ gets just the fantastic interception that he sits on in the second quarter.

M dub: So that's the first nine drives. It's... it's not It's not a shutout because it's six points, but you are absolutely blanking an entire NFL offense. Then we go to Charger's drive number 10. They go 81 yards for a touchdown.

M dub: That includes 30 yards of penalties on the Seattle defense, including on a third down stop. Drive number 11. We go 85 yards for a touchdown. That includes...

M dub: 30 yards of penalties on the Seattle defense. Also with one of them on a third down stop. So really... where 11 drives into the game chargers don't really have much much anything longer than 50 yards but they're so buoyed by the confidence that then on their 12th drive They go on kind of a monster 74 -yard drive in just one minute and 47 seconds.

M dub: It could have been longer and worse than that. That was where. Jim Harbaugh decides to kind of stop the drive early with the... Down 10 points. The quick hit. Field goal on first down.

M dub: um So that was the drive number 13. Jenna knocks the ball out for the fumble, but really. Drive number 12, the only like proper drive of the game where they are moving the ball.

M dub: And. But that ends the field goal. uh, Los Angeles' two touchdowns come on these drives where... The penalty is moving along. So anyway, were were those the ones that stood out to you? those Third down penalties in the second half that just kept these.

M dub: These. that resuscitated these dead drives back to life.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, I mean, I think so. So the the first one, the worst one, in my opinion, and again, it goes back to I'm i'm so grateful for the leadership on this team because I know.

Tristan Amundson: I know he's heard about it about 20 times by now, and and hopefully he makes the adjustment. Derek Hall's late hit, you know, driving driving the quarterback into the ground.

Tristan Amundson: That one leads to a touchdown. And that was. according to the broadcast third and quote a mile um i believe it was um third and 20 or something like that i mean it was just ridiculous and it was an incomplete pass and All he had to do was not. throw his shoulder into the quarterback and drive him into.

Tristan Amundson: the beautiful pu you know puget sound dirt um and so that was that was one and then Um, The other one that stood out to me. ah You know, I kind of.

Tristan Amundson: really focused on our three young stars because I i expect a lot out of them. um you know obviously we love devin witherspoon spoons you know extra tossing on the sidelines to get another 15 yards that that flip flip the guy over um you know that to me was unacceptable and then even worry um you know the face mask penalty um that resulted in three points like it it

Tristan Amundson: completely you know attributes to um We're about to get off the field. Oh, no. Instead, let's keep the drive going. And here's three points for the, you know, for the bad guys. um you know if i if i was to look at derek and e -man and be like you guys you guys combined help this team score 10 points. And oh because you just weren't being thoughtful and you were just you weren't using your brains.

Tristan Amundson: um You know, it's just, it's unacceptable. And this game, imagine if this game says. you know 10 to 30 instead or or you know something closer to that 10 to 13 or you know whatever it happens to be the the makeup of of the game is totally different. So, so to me just unacceptable, you know, it should be the easiest thing in the world.

Tristan Amundson: to fix those kinds of mistakes like we should I would. argue we should not see a 15 yard penalty next week. Like maybe we see one or two. I get it. But like we should not see a boneheaded 15 yard penalty next week. I'd be kind of surprised if we did.

M dub: You're right. I would be surprised if we did too. I think what's... You know. okay as we'll talk about with the upcoming schedule it we're kind of done with the the time of like figuring out this team and having a mediocre game and putting up a result anyway but it it does It does feel like this team.

M dub: treated it It feels like the Seahawks treated this game as a loss. you know And it it it goes down as a win.

Tristan Amundson: It does. Yeah.

M dub: It gets marked as a win. The team is 3 -1, but it does feel like internally. The team is treating it as a loss. so That's a positive that the team expects so much from themselves that it doesn't really matter to them that it went down as a win.

M dub: The negative is you you did have all these. these weird plays i gotta say i was just I was very confused at what a 15 -yard penalty was. We had the one on Brady Russell that to me looked like the kind of...

M dub: technically post -whistle shoving that happens on 40 to 50 % of NFL plays out of like, I don't know. And then I was very confused about the one on Demarcus Lawrence. Um...

M dub: um I know you can't like roll up on a quarterback to protect the knee, but. I don't know. i was I was just very confused about that one. It seemed like he had been kind of shoved to the ground. And I don't know what he was supposed to do there, not try to sack the quarterback. just because He was on the, I didn't. I...

M dub: Maybe I just don't know the rule book well enough, but I was awfully confused by the the one on D -Law.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, no, I agreed on both of those. The one that. like confused me the most and i have no concept of why this would be a penalty is the the special teams one where um our gunner was running down the field and made

M dub: Connor O'Toole.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, made a beautiful open field tackle. I saw no fault in what he did. and to me, the best. case against giving that penalty is The. There is a mechanism.

Tristan Amundson: In which. the um The special teams player receiving the ball. can tell everyone it is illegal to touch me. there is um There literally is a mechanism. You call the fair catch. We can't touch you.

Tristan Amundson: If you don't call the fair catch. where Yike, you could die. and like everyone knows that that is what that play is like If you don't time that the right way. you're you're potentially a dead man.

Tristan Amundson: And like the the. purpose of the gunner is to literally like to saw your body in half he went low The other guy went low to make the catch. I don't think there's anything he could do differently. I would kind of assume that Even the guy making that catch was like, wait, that that was a penalty? like Yeah, it sucks, but.

Tristan Amundson: you know what what are we supposed to do here um so to me that one was completely out of bounds unacceptable um And I would imagine like. there's There's two different versions of these kinds of penalties. There's the boneheaded ones that... we should never see again.

Tristan Amundson: There's I guess maybe three versions. There's the penalties. That's like, yeah, hey, fair enough. Cost of doing business. And then there are the penalties that are on this officiating crew. And to me. the special teams one that's just That's on the officiating crew. there's There's no... teaching tape there from our perspective there's only teaching tape to those officials of like Come on, man. Like, watch a football game.

M dub: You know, we're we're complaining about this. We should mention, though, I think Coach Mack had the... absolute best approach to this, which was... You know, this is a situation after a game where you could imagine.

M dub: it's It's almost... the rhythm of a sports business that a a coach says something that then gets them fined. And we just kind of know. That's how this goes you know after like a game where the officiating takes center stage.

M dub: I want to give big credit to him that he does not take this he has not taken this bait whatsoever in his public statements For him, it's been all about... Oh. how to improve internally and and how to. he He's put the responsibility on himself and the team with which I really appreciate.

M dub: even though I do think you're right. There there were those penalties that... that the refs could have just kept. kept the flag in their pocket.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, no, I mean, you have to I'm sure, you know, on Monday they had to kind of sit down and look at every single one individually and say, OK, you know. What's the grade on this play? What's the grade on this penalty? Is this is this one we do again or is this one we never do again or something in the middle? And and I'm sure they they do that. One thing I mentioned to you before we started that I thought was kind of funny.

Tristan Amundson: i listened to coach mac's immediate press conference and then i also listened to jim harbaugh's immediate press conference and one thing that i thought was really interesting um to your point the the tenor and the tenor from our players as well after this game was this basically sounded like a loss. Like they were. like disgusted with themselves.

Tristan Amundson: um and and And really, I mean, it's it's exactly the way you would want our team to approach it. And and obviously the conversation so much around the penalties. It was interesting to me listening to Jim Harbaugh.

Tristan Amundson: And the questions that were being asked. As far as I remember, and and as I was listening to it, they basically didn't ask him about penalties at all. And the penalties were, I mean, both teams were absolutely horrendous on penalties. And that media didn't seem really worried or even talking about it. Now, admittedly, we're talking about an 0 -4 team. So their their conversation was much bigger picture, the sky is falling kind of deal.

Tristan Amundson: um But man, I thought it was interesting. like i I expected Jim and kind of knowing his personality from afar that he would be. very much you know introspective about hey this is unacceptable we can't do this sort of thing we're we're beating ourselves can't do this against a team like the Seahawks

Tristan Amundson: He came up and he basically said, man, I love the fight of our team. I thought our team fought really well. They competed really well. And we just lost this game. And he didn't, in his opening remarks, mention the penalties whatsoever. I just I find that.

Tristan Amundson: Shocking. I mean, and and again. jim harbaugh he's a good coach like he knows what he's doing and i thought it was really interesting That, um you know, maybe it's defensive nature because they have been so bad this year and 0 -4 and all of that could be why he didn't even get into the penalties. But it was not even a topic of conversation.

M dub: You know, while we're at it, let's talk about one that did go the Seahawks way. It's the Seahawks' final score of the game, a field goal by Jason Myers. Such a weird sequence. He's lining up for like a 52 -yard attempt.

M dub: And. For some reason that. Eh. The more I thought about this, the more I was confused about it. But they have 10 men on the field, and they're waiting for Gray Zabel to get out there on the line, which the reason that confused me is, well, Gray Zabel was just in there on the offensive play. How did he get off the field? What communication was telling him to get off the field? or eat us I... How did that get mixed up? Because it wasn't a guy you know who just comes in for the special teams plays.

M dub: You could just feel the energy was totally off on that field goal attempt. We saw Myers struggle from distance in the preseason. Hasn't, even a month into the season, hasn't... even really been tested coincidentally on that long of an attempt The vibes were totally off.

M dub: he misses it the chargers get called for leverage which speaking of which i mean I guess I don't know the rule book that well, but... I didn't see much wrong with that play.

M dub: at all maybe and but the the broadcast seemed to let it go by like oh yeah that's a leverage play that little thing there that's that's definitely 15 yards Seahawks get a first down again a chance to get the drive going. They don't really move the ball from there And then now with like a 35 -yard attempt, ja J. Mike punches it in. And that field goal ends up being a pretty important margin.

M dub: uh later in the fourth quarter at the end of the game ah to give the Seahawks a full seven -point lead and in the final minutes. um What a weird sequence.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, that was it was weird. i I admittedly, I didn't notice any of the. um Like the pre -snap stuff of, you know, confusion as far as getting people in or out. I did. The leverage thing is interesting when you bring that up, because that reminds me of. a famous one of the great seahawks of all time that had a very love hate relationship with the leverage call which was cam chancellor the great cam chancellor

Tristan Amundson: um The first player I've ever seen, and I think it was the first time maybe in NFL. Well, I'm not going to say history, but. it definitely the broadcast when it happened where they were just like wait what what did he just do um He...

Tristan Amundson: I believe the first time they did it, he got called on leverage because he. jumped over the line of scrimmage. And. um block the kick and he just jumped right over um the the lineman and he barely touched them And, man, i this I might be conflating this, Miles.

Tristan Amundson: it The way my memory has it. I think he they literally they they called a penalty. They moved the kick. and i the way i remember it this probably isn't the way it actually happened but i almost remember it that the very next play he just did it again but this time he didn't touch anybody And he blocked the kick.

Tristan Amundson: i know that he um I know that he blocked a few kicks in that manner of like literally. just jumping over the entire line. and blocking a kick and i mean from from Not from a running start. I mean, it was incredible to see like how.

Tristan Amundson: perfectly athletic camp chancellor was. I mean, he really was a. um Just, I mean. don't know he was the best he was incredible um so yeah that's when i saw that leverage play i instantly thought of cam um and and the good memories of him i think the nfl honestly had to kind of like look at the rule book a little bit after he did that because it was one of those

Tristan Amundson: Wait, a human is physically capable of... of doing of doing this play so yeah the leverage one It's an interesting call. um I agree with you, though. In that case, it looked pretty ticky tack. The guy looked like he barely touched.

Tristan Amundson: um the seahawk's shoulder as he was trying to maybe you know get a little extra um i Yeah, I thought that was kind of a silly one.

M dub: In the midst of all this. I mean, we have we have to we've been talking about the penalties for so long. but Sorry, that was this game. In the middle of all this, though. Hard to kind of recognize. The Seahawks have scored.

M dub: At least 30 points in three straight games. Not only did that not happen last year. That's the first time the Hawks have done that since 2020.

Tristan Amundson: Oh, wow.

M dub: um kind of a It feels like the team is slumping. It's just such a funny thing to happen when it feels like the team. is in a slump but Big ups to Brian Flory. We're not going to get into it that much, but.

M dub: Third straight game with at least 30 points. How about that?

Tristan Amundson: That is, yeah. I mean, and you can kind of sense, I think. the The growing. um familiarity. um that that he has with the team and and kind of finding his own identity, I think, with this team.

Tristan Amundson: Something I thought was interesting was. um was looking at The number of screens of ah in this game, I don't know if that jumped out to you. i I feel like I haven't seen a good screen game with the Seahawks in a long time.

Tristan Amundson: And it was refreshing to see like. That's a part of the offense that now we're using. How did you like Rashid Shaheed in the run game? i I thought that was really fun to see too.

M dub: I totally agree with you on the screens. There's just these, and it does feel like ah it's something you have seen the Niners do for so long, and it does feel great to see the Seahawks doing it. just Just that screen, and you got three linemen, like, cruising down the field ahead of the ball carrier. And you're just you're just like, oh oh, man. More yards are coming on this play. That was exactly what the Rashid Shaheed.

M dub: Rush was big ups to JSN, sealing the touchdown with a block, your number one wide receiver. That was just a beautiful play. He was. he was The... That play was well blocked by everybody, but JSN with the final one to make sure Shahid gets all the way into the end zone. It was fantastic football.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, it's fun to see opportunities just to get Rashid in open space, even just a little open space. And and really in ah a running play like that, once he starts going, it does suddenly just look like a kickoff return or a punt return. And and to see him use his skills in that way. Um, pretty incredible so i you know multiplicity i think would be the word i would use um thinking through

Tristan Amundson: Rashid in the run game, he gets two attempts thinking through the screen game. I think we're going to continue to see more and more motion as. um as Fleury gets comfortable with the players and they get comfortable with him and you know they just start kind of putting all this together. um

Tristan Amundson: So, yeah, I mean, in some ways, I feel like we're, um you know, coach talks about stacking wins. I feel like we're kind of stacking and I'm not trying to be funny here, like stacking layers right to to this offense and different things for defenses to have to. account for and think about um which i think is about the part of the season we're in right now miles where weeks say four five six we're starting to see ah offenses become what they're actually going to be in November.

M dub: Speaking of layers, how about being on the goal line, bringing out a jumbo package, tight ends galore, one little wide receiver out to the side, Mr.

Tristan Amundson: Mmm.

M dub: Torrey Horton, and just... A so ah shockingly easy touchdown. A lot of thought went into that play design. I really loved it, and I'm guessing you did too.

Tristan Amundson: I did. i My favorite thing about that play, and I really liked the broadcasting note on this, that... um if you think about it from an outsider's perspective like i think most people in seattle know and respect tori and know you know this is guy's pretty dynamic i mean this is a pretty interesting number three number four wide receiver to have on your team um but if you think about it from a formation perspective to your point We got the jumbos in and you have.

Tristan Amundson: Your third, arguably your fourth wide receiver on the field. JSN isn't on the field. Coop's not on the field. Sheed's not on the field. And so in some ways that looks pretty much like a decoy. It kind of looks pretty innocent having Tory just out there by himself.

Tristan Amundson: And. It obviously doesn't do justice to Tory because Tory is dynamic and he's back to his touchdown ways, which is really great to see. I think his maturation. Week in, week out is going to be fun to continue to to see how how they...

Tristan Amundson: Bounce these. dynamic wide receivers for wide receivers, all very different kinds of wide receivers. And we're starting to kind of see. everybody's role take shape, which I think is going to be really cool.

M dub: um For the most part, I enjoyed Logan Ryan on this broadcast. Tristan, the former secondary player with the Patriots, the Giants, and others. but As the second half went on, i was I did just want to mention. I felt like the second half there was a a lot of praise about Justin Herbert and his toughness. I felt that was...

M dub: if If we were to sum up a theme of the broadcast for the second half, that was kind of the main thing that was. getting talked about the most and i know that was kind of coming out there was There was a lot of... There's a lot of good plays Justin Herbert made, but i just just to share, but would that be fair to say that was like what was talked about the most in the second half of this game? I think it was.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, I think that and you should probably take him out of the game because he's getting hit so much. I think that's like that's what he was focusing on those two themes.

M dub: just just just so That was the main theme. let me let me just read I'm just going to read some stats here. Justin Herbert in this game. 19 of 31 for 189 yards, one touchdown thrown.

M dub: Two interceptions thrown. gets 40 rushing yards on the ground also gets sacked four times to lose 35 yards and also loses one fumble. For the year, that moves him to 204 yards per game on the season with a total of four touchdowns and six interceptions.

M dub: And I know... that Justin Herbert's getting a lot of heat for those numbers, but... I'm not sure what he's supposed to do. The Chargers scheduled, intended. number one wide receiver on the year who left this game early due to injury.

M dub: It's Lad McConkie. who had 789 yards last year. That's the intended number one. Feels like they. uh forgot a homework assignment or something before the season started to have like a proper wide receiving room with your quarterback.

M dub: Anyway, i given those numbers I thought that was a funny topic to be talking about so much.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, I mean, the Chargers have... larger problems obviously than than one thing but um yeah i it was interesting um It's an interesting team, really. I mean, in in some ways you think about how talented that quarterback is and how.

Tristan Amundson: in some ways talented that team is and then um To your point, there there's definitely some. um deficiencies when it comes to their wide receiver depth. basically the opposite of what we have. We have great depth of that position. They they just don't.

Tristan Amundson: um the ah The other thing, though. ah did Did you find it odd that he was calling for Herbert to be pulled out of the game? Like I I like the the game was still there was a lot of game to be played and Herbert seemed to be moving. OK, I understand we were hitting him a lot.

Tristan Amundson: i I just thought it was odd that like that call for get this guy out of the game. I was like, well, what are you seeing? Like I, wait, the first time you said it, I. i immediately started watching like okay is he like grabbing onto his knee is there some sort of like ah a clear injury that he seems to be playing through and there there wasn't it just seemed that he was getting hit a lot

M dub: My mindset was all wrong. I thought this game was over in the third quarter, and it obviously was far from over. So I didn't know when this when this game properly ended. And I should mention, even...

M dub: the incredible s Sack fumble by Chenna to wrap this thing up. There was even, the in real time, there was... a flag on the play. So you couldn't just like celebrate it at once. That flag turned out to be on the chargers. No big whoop, but.

M dub: um i It was very hard to tell when this game was properly over until the Seahawks melted out. I do want to mention, by the way. I think Uchenna Nwosu is the most underrated player in the NFL because...

M dub: We... Cannot get a broadcaster to say his name correctly. We are getting

Tristan Amundson: Yep.

M dub: Nwoso. Week after week. I mean, I. I know it's not a common last name. I also don't think it's that difficult. let's Let's literally get some respect on this man's name.

M dub: There is a U at the end of it. That. S -U. It ends in S -U. It's antenna. Nwosu. I mean come on.

Tristan Amundson: No, agreed. if if a Listen, Miles, if I can say it properly, then these guys should be able to say it. that It is their. brett literally their bread and butter. It is their moneymaker. It's how it's how they ah provide for their family.

Tristan Amundson: is uh prepping and uh proper pronunciation of these names so nah i agree and chenna has been Um, Really, I mean... He's been a great player in this league for quite some time. It's not as though he's a rookie. um he has He's a Super Bowl champion. He is, you know, a key player in this rotation. So no, agreed. It is a little head scratching every time.

Tristan Amundson: you you hear the the um last name pronounced improperly.

M dub: Tristan, can I hit you with, I noticed a former Seahawk lining up for the Chargers. His name, we, I want oh i shouldn't say, I'll just say for me, at one time I was very excited.

M dub: for his contributions to the Seahawks, ends up never appearing for the team in a regular season game. I'm talking about 2025 free agent signing. Marquez Valdez Gantling.

M dub: it's been a bit of a journey for him tristan he was signed in the spring of 2025. Released by the Hawks on August 26th last year. So that's... 13 and a half months ago.

M dub: The Chargers are the fourth... team that he's played for since that time. He was released by Seattle. Since then, he's been into buildings in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Dallas, and starting just on September 16th.

M dub: The Los Angeles Chargers, he had one target for zero catches in this game. What a journey. What a journey.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, Speedster. When I think of him, I kind of think of the the the Chiefs. Like, that's kind of the... I don't know. That was the stop that he had that I thought, OK, this is going to work for him.

Tristan Amundson: And. um You know, for whatever reason, it hasn't. It seemed like he was really well liked in Seattle and um had a good reputation and definitely brings a superpower to a team. So ah he is a guy I'm kind of surprised hasn't had more success recently.

M dub: another form I was looking out for another former Seahawk. I realized he wasn't there, and that is Uncle Will, Will Disley, our old friend. I didn't realize the Chargers actually released him this spring.

Tristan Amundson: Oh, is that right?

M dub: And. Yeah, and there's not much going on football -wise in the world of Will Disley right now. The... Just looking around the internet, it looks like he stopped by Seattle in August.

M dub: to attend a UW practice. As far as what's going on with him personally, he hasn't posted it on Instagram since 2023, which I respect so much. but It looks like this might be the end of the NFL road for Will Disley. He had six years in Seattle, followed by.

M dub: Two years with the Los Angeles Chargers. Not a lot of noise. I'm not sure if he's trying to come back or or what. Just not a lot of noise there. in either direction. And I just thought I'd check up on an old friend because gosh darn it, we really loved having him on the team.

Tristan Amundson: He was a great player. Yeah, he was a great player. And another one of those felt like kind of a core glue kind of guy on the team. Well liked. um And, and man, I mean, talk about your Um, your perfect kind of. um

Tristan Amundson: tight end you know where Good good blocker, right? um And also was was a ah clutch pass catcher when when needed and when called upon. um And always nice having a ginger on the team, I think. Always nice having kind of that vibe.

Tristan Amundson: um and uh yeah very in in fact if if i remember correctly he was a big part of the techno thursdays back in the day um during training camp, but during you know during practices. so um yeah glad you know what honestly glad to hear that he was up in Washington you know kind of hopefully visiting some Seahawks friends as well and uh He definitely feels like one of those, like.

Tristan Amundson: Um, and i i again i'm not trying to be funny here like one of those legitimately like members of the seahawks community like one of those guys that kind of has a lifetime pass.

M dub: Yeah, yeah, especially with attending UW as well and being from Montana. It absolutely feels like that.

Tristan Amundson: Northwest guy. No, for sure. um any Do you want to get into some of these news topics kind of as we wrap up here, Miles?

M dub: Yeah, yeah, a lot of stuff happening off the field in the world of the Seahawks. uh first off since this game the team and you know i i was during this game i was really feeling like emmanuel wilson

Tristan Amundson: Um,

M dub: Fourth year in the league, felt like he really... understood and knew how much money. is on the line for him with with a great performance. he He walked into this game as RB1.

M dub: 21 rushes for 81 yards, scores two touchdowns, one one rushing, one passing. Brutal League, man. He he follows up that performance, which is an RB1 performance.

M dub: with the news the next day that the Seahawks are signing Joe Mixon, the veteran running back. He was out, Nixon was out all of 2025 with a foot injury. But he is seventh. among all active rushers in career yardage and number 65 of all time Before the injury, he had two 1 ,000 yard seasons.

M dub: uh back to back in 2023 2024 so He's 30 years old, but the last time he was on the field, he was a thousand yard rusher. I couldn't believe he was still out there, actually.

Tristan Amundson: yes it's an interesting signing i mean i'll be honest i forgot about joe mixon um so interesting to see what he has in the tank and and how he mixes in with the team um Don't know if this means anything as far as when they expect Zach Charbonnet back or if they. want to give zach you know a week or two extra um i did also see just this morning and hot off the presses um we are recording tuesday morning uh october 6th and this morning

Tristan Amundson: um We signed Robert Henry Jr. off of the commander's practice squad. So um undrafted free agent in this year's draft. um The commanders.

Tristan Amundson: released him or waved him, you know, on on cut down day and then resigned him to their practice squad, um which, you know, is a a trick that we also do. Right. You kind of. Try to. sneak some of those folks back onto your practice squad that you really like. And obviously that's the case with this young man. And he will also be coming to Seattle to help.

Tristan Amundson: support this depleted. uh uh running back group here so interesting deal but i agree with you man uh emmanuel looked pretty good i mean that it looked like ah a nice performance um he he has a little bit more twitch and a little bit more run after the um after contact than i thought i i kind of

Tristan Amundson: Thought that he'd be more of a Najee Harris kind of guy, like kind of slower, more lumbering, but with a big wallop. And he's got a little bit more juice than I thought. So I'm i'm really happy with Emmanuel Wilson so far. And, ah you know, certainly how he's stabilizing this group. Kind of exciting to think about a world where we actually have.

Tristan Amundson: Um, Jadarian where we have Charbonnet and where we have Wilson altogether kind of as your one, two, three um grouping.

M dub: Yeah, and it'll be we should say I mean I remember... a torn ACL being a 12 month injury. And Zach Charbonnet only had this injury last January.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah.

M dub: So it's been. What is that, nine months ago? but it does sound like he's returning to practice. It does seem like these have shortened from 12 -month injuries to nine -month injuries. Same thing with Patrick Mahomes. um I'm not sure what's happening that feels. its insane to me some crazy stuff is happening behind the scenes to shorten the timelines that much, but. We did get the news that Charbonnet is returning to practice.

M dub: I was shocked to see that. I mean, in my mind, I just counted him out for this entire season with with that injury. But it it sounds like he he'll be back sooner rather than later.

Tristan Amundson: You know, you're right about these these turnarounds, though. One thing I saw in the 49ers game, I don't know if you got a chance to to watch that one. But while I was watching Red Zone, i I saw the Niners game and. there was a screen pass to George Kittle that he took to the house for about 60 yards. And George Kittle, I don't know his age off the top of my head. I'm going to guess he's about 32. He's definitely in his 30s. And George just had an um Achilles ah rupture or tear last year. So he.

Tristan Amundson: um was recovering in the off season from ah ah from an achilles tendon injury And. i've now I don't know if I've ever seen him run this fast before he completely like blew the top off of the defense he maxed out his max speed was 19 0 .88 miles per hour. So, I mean.

Tristan Amundson: let's Let's give them, let's just round up for Georgia's sake. george kittel in his mid -30s got up to 20 miles an hour on a football field yesterday After. recovering from an Achilles injury in the offseason, which Achilles surgery in the offseason, which is just To your point, these these turnaround times are, it's a totally different world.

M dub: That has to be among the top what one the top speeds ever for any tight end. I mean, this is a tight end we're talking about.

Tristan Amundson: It's a tight end. It's an old tight end. And he was absolutely flying. Yeah, I mean, he he looked absolutely great on an Achilles that was just, you know, surgically repaired. So yeah, pretty, pretty cool. Really happy to have.

Tristan Amundson: Charbonnet back in the mix soon. Speaking of another name that you know we can look forward to. um mispronunciations really soon from the broadcast crew. That'll be a treat.

M dub: Tristan, we've let the news from this. it was This news was boiling hot within the last few days. It has since cooled down. to a simmer. It's probably ice cold now, but...

M dub: I've been waiting to bring it up. The Graham Bensinger interview with Coach Mack, this was quite an off -field story. I think we've seen that the ripples in the pond are totally calm now, but I think it's interesting to look back on.

M dub: um I've watched Graham Bensinger clips for a long time now. This is a man who goes around. And he interviews. Successful people. A lot of times they're athletes, some of the time they're not.

M dub: I have really enjoyed watching his interviews over the years. I think he has a very Thoughtful style. that Most of this is on YouTube. some of them are like hour -long videos and sometimes he releases them in little Five to eight minute chunks. That's what he was doing with Coach Mack. He was kind of. dribbling out this Coach Mac interview.

M dub: ah day by day over the course of like a week or two. And I really think Graham, he he I think he's just such a thoughtful listener. Which is just so, he's... he's I just really appreciate his style. I think he's a really thought. You can just see him being so still and really listening.

M dub: to his interview subject is my take on it. I was so fascinated by this Coach Mack interview. Learned a couple things. Number one. I've given a lot of... I've i've thought that Coach Mack had this very intentional strategy of kind of hiring coaches across the NFL that he didn't have a previous connection with.

M dub: I think we learned from this interview. Sounds like he was really blocked by John Harbaugh and the Ravens from hiring a lot of his... Uh, plan a choices and it sounded like there was a little bit of bad blood honestly just very subtly not nothing crazy but just ah undercurrent of a bit of a professional rivalry between Coach Mack and John Harbaugh, I think he has week 14 against the Giants circled on the calendar.

M dub: The other thing I was really enjoying was... We see that Coach Mack is living with his family in a garden paradise somewhere in the Seattle area. This was a shockingly beautiful home.

M dub: It is probably the most beautiful home an active NFL coach has ever lived in. I think you could have charged admission. to garden enthusiasts to see this garden that's that's why i'd recommend going to youtube this thing was was really crazy That's not what this interview is known for. This interview really blew up for it completely. a completely different reason. Should we get into the meat of this or did you have any other thoughts about the rest of it?

Tristan Amundson: um You know, i I didn't have a ton of thoughts on the interview in general. Just I told you, I like. yeah Graham isn't my style of interviewer, so I i struggled.

Tristan Amundson: I struggled, excuse me, with the interview itself. um And then I was getting myself ready to listen to the whole interview. when the drama you're about to describe came about and then that kind of just turned me off unfortunately completely so yeah you should you should divulge to the drama maybe we talk about that for a second that's that's all i really know about the interview to be honest with you

M dub: Yeah, yeah, and fair enough. Hey, hey that's the subjectivity of art. so what By the way, so i was I was checking back in on the Grand Band Singer YouTube page. pretty much every day because I saw he was he was he was kind of releasing these five to eight minute chunks one at a time.

M dub: And um i I still don't really know how or when this was released, but... We have discussion between Graham and Coach Mack about an incident from 2024. Uh... The first game of Coach Mack's tenure at home against the Broncos.

M dub: The Seahawks prepare for this game. By examining footage that Broncos fans have. Put online on social media of Broncos training camp and you can see the plays. These are out in public. You can see the plays.

M dub: Coach Payton really disagreed. and ah threatened to sue the Seahawks. The Seahawks threatened to sue them back. That conference, that. That whole story only comes out.

M dub: ah from like an unreal i don't even know what it was part like a chunk of the grand ben singer interview It turns out Coach Mack thought he was discussing these things off the record.

M dub: And so basically, I mean, basically the whole thing as has just gotten erased. I still don't know what happened. i Since I do trust Graham Bensinger so much and it's such the opposite of like... uh quick hit journalism. it's It's so much more slower and thoughtful.

M dub: I really think this was a misunderstanding between two. well -intentioned parties. and it just kind of got out of control for a few days. Fortunately, again, this has all died down, but...

M dub: but That's just kind of what I think about it, that it was that it was a genuine misunderstanding. Unfortunately, it ends up being ah a really bad look for Graham Bensinger in the end. And I could be wrong about his intentions, but...

M dub: just Just what an interesting moment. And funny enough, I do think it seems to have created. a bit of a piece between Coach Mack and Sean Payton who are facing each other and in a...

M dub: just a week after this one just um It feels like this coming out in the public helped them bury the hatchet a little more. Maybe. I don't know. It was. It was just so weird. And there was a few days where like a new twist was coming out each day. And it was hard to know what was going to happen next.

M dub: Funny enough, we're like 10 days out of it, and we've all forgotten and moved on. But just wanted to discuss it on the World's Only Seahawks. Worth discussing on the World's Only Seahawks podcast.

Tristan Amundson: No, I will say for what it's worth, I you know, I'm not a big Sean Payton fan. And, you know, I think he's he's a guy that doesn't take a lot of responsibility. I was extremely impressed by Sean's um response to this, where, you know, he instantly during his press conference said Mike McDonald called me.

Tristan Amundson: And we talked about it and we're good. And then he said the thing that I needed. to hear which was you know basically lord knows i've stuck my foot in my mouth many many times um i can relate you know it's a good learning experience yada yada yada we have no problems and i do kind of wonder if

Tristan Amundson: um Jean Payton is uniquely qualified to take kind of this kind of a punishment or this kind of a story with a little bit more grace because of what he said. Like he's he has such a history of sticking his foot in his mouth that.

Tristan Amundson: um you know i guess kind of good to see that he has the um the self um realization the self -knowledge um that Hey, yeah. You know what, man? I've been here. no harm no foul um you know you you'll learn from it so um i was yeah i was uh impressed i was impressed by by Sean there.

M dub: I agree. It does make me wonder what's happening behind the scenes week by week because this is a pretty... Think about Coach Mack, first week, and he's got this on his agenda, on his plate. testing That would have been so stressful, and we never heard a word about it. It just does make me wonder. What the heck else is going on behind the scenes that...

M dub: takes up these coaches and executives and players' time that we just... never hear about because this is That's a pretty big deal. I feel like that just would have taken a lot of time to sort out. You're still trying to get ready for week two. Your second game ever coaching in the NFL.

M dub: I think that's what I came away with more than anything. Like, man, I wonder what is going on behind the scenes here. because As this story showed, it could be anything.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah. Yeah. And it goes to show why they have so many you know different staff members from media relations to the the front office. I would imagine this was one where. um you know john and his team just take a you know a front seat and say all right, coach, you know this is what you got to say. This is what you're not going to say. And you know we'll we'll take it from here. You focus on the game plan.

Tristan Amundson: and you know the the two of them working really well together so good good learning experience i think that um you know like anything in life and we have to remember mike's in his 30s like it's a good learning experience it's a good thing to to realize, OK, you know, if I'm if I am having an interview and the cameras are rolling or if I'm talking to someone that isn't a dear friend.

Tristan Amundson: Yeah, on the record, off the record gets pretty tricky. And, um you know, trust is earned and you you need to be careful with those things. um And so, yeah, I think good learning experience for um for Mike. and And I do like what Brock and Salk said afterwards when they talked about.

Tristan Amundson: many conversations that they had off air with Pete that. you know they're like we we will never share things that like Like we just knew if we're going to talk to Pete Carroll every single week.

Tristan Amundson: We need to garner his trust. And so and they kind of talked about how that was something that developed over years of knowing Pete. And Pete's a pretty open guy. So good learning experience for Mike, I think, to realize, OK, yeah, you need to.

Tristan Amundson: kind of, you know, know your audience, know who you're talking to. and um you know love everyone, but you know, you can't always trust um everyone's intentions. and And even if Graham's intentions were good, right? He has a staff, he has people. that are helping him put this stuff together and you know someone decided this was great newsworthy information um to your point They're not only a sports outlet. So it could just be that from their perspective, it was like.

Tristan Amundson: oh is this even that big of a deal like you know is it like maybe they didn't see the drama in the same way um yeah who who knows who knows how that went down but good learning experience for coach

M dub: And the listener can walk away with one recommendation to watch this and one recommendation not to watch this, which is absolutely perfect. um It did make me – Coach Mack is just such a unique figure in NFL history.

M dub: Still in his 30s. No connections. ah you know No skill past high school as a player. And he's a Super Bowl champion already. What he's built is just.

M dub: it's It's It's... It's such a unique thing that we're seeing and he's such a unique. guy And. I... I... seeing this house really was just it just it really flipped everything for me seeing the garden that him and his family are living is living in it just i i it really changed a lot for me i i'm i'm I'm so stoked on it, clearly.

Tristan Amundson: i'll I'll watch that section just so I can see the garden. I'll do that for you. You and I.

M dub: Watch it on mute. Yeah

Tristan Amundson: You and I both have a love for Monty Dawn. So shout out to Monty. I'll ah I'll ah check it out and and enjoy. I'm sure I'll enjoy a beautiful Pacific Northwest garden. That'd be great.

M dub: I mean, the story going around about Coach Mack was that he only... He schedules 30 minutes of time for his family per week. That was the story last year. And and seeing the garden. you It just...

M dub: it's so not true i mean he obviously he's a busy guy way busier than than the average bear but it it just really said a lot to me that like wow he he cares about finding a place where his family can enjoy this garden i i mean it really yeah Anyway.

Tristan Amundson: so So to that point, and then we can we can let this story die, but um I... uh something that impressed me last year they kind of were asking him at some point or might it might have even been year one it's probably year one like what time do you get in And he basically said, he's like, I'm not the first one in. He's like, sleep's really important. I want to get eight or nine hours a night. um um you know basically it's kind of funny he basically said year one

Tristan Amundson: I'm not here super late and I'm not here super early. like Like I need to have some balance. I need to be with my wife. I need to see my kiddo. I need to. um get good sleep and he talked about how important good sleep was and i just thought it was again to your point like the many layers of of coach mike and it's just a you know kind of one of those

Tristan Amundson: um contrarian things where you know he doesn't feel like he has to prove anything to anybody and it's like uh no i'm i am not the first one in i am not the first one you know ah the last one to leave i I want to make sure that I get good sleep because sleep is actually super important. um So I just kind of love that thought that he's.

Tristan Amundson: He's a little different than than your stereotypical NFL coach.

M dub: Oh yeah. oh yeah he's he's so different it is really crazy how different he is because he's He's so willing to show that he's learning it all as as he's going. I mean, yeah.

M dub: It's yeah. It's a very vulnerable way to lead, really.

Tristan Amundson: it really No, it really is. he He has nothing to prove, which um is is the greatest life of advice I've been ever ever been given by the great Wally Norling. You have nothing to prove.

Tristan Amundson: um That's not how the NFL is, though, Miles, and the Seahawks will have something to prove. Less than a week from today. They will host. The Hated?

Tristan Amundson: The respected? The Feared. 49ers, what are we calling them, Miles?

M dub: I think that's a completely accurate way to say it. Hated, respected, and feared. um i was looking forward to dropping this tidbit and uh other people were clearly waiting on this but after Sunday's game, Niners versus Broncos.

M dub: Including the playoffs, Kyle Shanahan has coached 167 games for the team. The legendary Bill Walsh coached 166. The Shanahan era.

Tristan Amundson: Wow.

M dub: Longer. than the Bill Walsh era. I just can't. Something about that really boggles the mind. 49ers 4 -0, looking like one of the best teams in the NFL.

M dub: There's the you the Seahawks. will get destroyed playing a game like they played against the chargers Everything has to just be. So much better. I think we're entering the... We're exiting the...

M dub: the regular The preseason slash regular season, part of the regular season, and and it's on now because... Seahawks have had a bit of an easier schedule. we're entering october is a gauntlet it goes san francisco denver kansas city chicago Those are going to be four playoff teams, and we're really going to learn. what the Seahawks are all about, because all the details.

M dub: have to be at A -plus in order to beat this Niners team. And we've seen the Seahawks can destroy. this is a Niners team when all the details are at an eight plus, but we we haven't really, we haven't seen the Seahawks put together.

M dub: as good of a game as they'll need to beat the Niners yet.

Tristan Amundson: It's going to be fascinating to see, to your point. the last Two times we faced this team, we absolutely demolished them. um But that was last year. This is this year. We have two different teams, right? And two different parts of the season. I just told you, you know, an older player.

Tristan Amundson: um Just ran 20 miles an hour and looked absolutely elite in George Kittle. um You know, maybe not something that you're experiencing towards the end of the year last year with injuries mounting.

Tristan Amundson: quite a bit with the 49ers and i do think that's going to be a problem for them moving forward throughout the season is is injuries like it was last year they have they do have an older roster Bye.

Tristan Amundson: Looking at it week five of the NFL. like This is, to your point, this is prime time now. this is we've We've all gotten a little film study on each other. We've all gotten a chance to fix our own problems.

Tristan Amundson: um you know No one is is terribly injured at this point in the year yet. The attrition of the NFL has not taken its toll. It's going to be a really great game, man. 1 .30 start Pacific time.

Tristan Amundson: in Seattle against the 49ers. They are a great team. I love the Kyle Shanahan tidbit, by the way. that's a lucky franchise like that franchise has had some really really great coaches um um I'm looking forward to it, man. To your point.

Tristan Amundson: This has to be. um a mistake -free. thoughtful game. I can't wait to see how they do.

M dub: I can't wait to see how they do. And I know the team has to take it one day at a time, but I am looking ahead. It goes Niners on Sunday, then traveling at Denver on Thursday night. Seahawks have their first Thursday night coming right after this.

Tristan Amundson: um you know keep keep this even keel right down the middle we're a neutral party we are the switzerland Um, of of the media, really. But I have to say, come rain or shine, come victory or loss.
