Where we talk about it all From superheroes to wrestlers We stand tall and Kevin The dynamic duo inside Keep looking
00:01:26
Speaker
what's happening?

Kevin's Florida Adventures

00:01:28
Speaker
What's going on? How are we doing? Doing good. Camera's back on. Doing good. We're back after a short little break. A week and a half we haven't been on. Kevin's been traveling and got back from Florida.
00:01:41
Speaker
And that's where we're going to start this week. Kevin, how was your trip back home? I know there's one thing I do want to talk to you about. e You made the trip to Bucky's. Finally.
00:01:56
Speaker
Finally. It looked up to go all the hype. I was wondering if it i was wondering if it did. i know it's just a oh my god gas station in a lot of people's eyes, but they have a lot of... ah cool trinkets and food and yeah what was sure full kitchen um well i got a uh beef brisket burrito which was fucking really good yeah i heard the brisket's good it was like brisket and a tortilla with just some rice and beans and that was really good and i got some other beef jerky which was also very good would you recommend the beef jerky
00:02:28
Speaker
They have like a whole wall of beef jerky, different flavors, right? If I remember correctly. Yeah. did yeah It's a lot. I got Bohemian and garlic and I got their pepper jerky. love pepper jerky.
00:02:39
Speaker
Nice. um It's really good, but I also realized jerky does a real, like good jerky does a real number on your teeth. Yes. Yeah, it does. It should get stuck in your teeth and yeah. But um yeah, excellent, excellent time at the old Bucky's.
00:02:54
Speaker
Nice. I can see why it's so popular. Everything's pretty cheap there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, all madeen made in-house, so it's, ah yeah, their own merchandising and all that. So how is... That jerky, I guess, usually from, like, a farm, and it's usually, like, 15, 20 bucks a pack. I think it was $8.99.
00:03:10
Speaker
Oh, nice. How was the trip overall? Did you get any new food since we talked last? Go anywhere special? I know you left. I can't remember. You left right before the rocket launch because you wanted to beat the ah foot traffic because it was crazy down there.
00:03:26
Speaker
Did you say that's like 100,000 people came into town right as you were leaving just to see the rocket launch? were 125,000 150,000. Damn. damn um So we left and went to St. Augustine and ate at this place, caps in the water, and I got alligator, which i love alligator tail. So good.
00:03:44
Speaker
haven't had alligator in a long time. I've had it once. It's so good. Yeah. um It literally, like, they say, like, tastes like, it's literally like chicken, like, when you dip it in. Like, it doesn't really have much flavor except for you dip in. And um we sat the water and...
00:03:58
Speaker
St. Augustine like 150 miles away, and people were going to St. Augustine trying to see the launch, so that place was also incredibly

Space Exploration and Moon Missions

00:04:05
Speaker
busy. Yeah, the whole entire coast up to shit but yeah up to up to Georgia. I know you can see the launch this time. so They're coming back tonight. They've been gone for exactly 10 days. so it's ah Nice.
00:04:18
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. it's ah I watched all of it. um it's it's It's weird. We'll talk a little bit about the launch. I wasn't planning on it, but first time and since 1972, I think, that America and man have gone to the moon. And now theyve now we've actually gone past the moon.
00:04:37
Speaker
Allegedly, yeah, if you want to believe the crew brick and the fake moon landing and all that stuff. It's fake. Yeah, I don't believe that. Just like fake flat earthers think that the Earth is um we yeah on that yeah, they're coming back and there's going to be five missions. This one was just to test the kind of the life support systems on the shuttle to see if if all the oxygen works. I mean, the shuttle is fucking super small for four or five people. If you ever see the pictures of it, yeah they look like they're in a tin can.
00:05:05
Speaker
And they just want to make sure the oxygen is working because eventually they want to build a moon base. It's like Artemis 2. Artemis 5, they want to start building a base on the moon and use moon rocks to create oxygen so they can live sustainable on the moon without having

Geeky Collectibles Showcase

00:05:19
Speaker
to worry about... oxygen levels and all that stuff so it's like the martian but on the moon it's like the movie the martian which is funny going talk about project hail mary in a little bit again but uh yeah so kevin's back a couple more weeks until he goes to work we've got some uh stuff on the show we're going to talking about until then we're going to bring up at the end um but first beginning of the month was last week but uh we're still going to do a show and tell
00:05:49
Speaker
So many geeky things that we could pull off from the shell. We've been collecting shit for years now we're ripping it out.
00:06:01
Speaker
So it's time to showcase all the money that we wasted well. C'est la vie, say the old folks, it's Geek Slip Show with Tim.
00:06:14
Speaker
I'll let you go first. I like i like what you have that you're going show. really I believe you have it also. I do. Yeah, I do have it. The yeah Back to the Future trilogy visual history.
00:06:28
Speaker
Of course, it has like all the old sketches in it from when they were developing. it also was Stuff like movie props. The memorabilia in there is really cool how they do those type of books. The 3D picture that has all three of them. That's awesome. um yeah

Kanye West's Album and Personal Struggles

00:06:42
Speaker
Overall, just a really cool little coffee table book.
00:06:44
Speaker
um They just put out a... They just put out a remastered version of that too, I believe, a couple months ago with all new stuff about the musical and a whole bunch other things. but um i but I don't have my thing physically, but I do have a picture it I've been working on this week. I believe I showed my Mario and Zelda game collection I started a while ago. yeah Well, I kind of finished it at a point where I want to stop.
00:07:09
Speaker
I got all the games I wanted, and I got some new shelves I wanted to show that off. I got some pictures I took of it. um Yeah, I got some ocean shells made out of resin. I like that how they do that. And I put all my collection, as you see on the right there, if you're on YouTube or wherever you're watching this.
00:07:26
Speaker
Zelda games on the bottom, Mario games in the in the middle, and Mario games on the top. ah yeah i do I'm kind of at a standstill because my shells are full. um That's probably where I'm going to stop. But I have every major system game from the Nintendo on. So, yeah, nice pretty damn cool. I'm proud of that collection.
00:07:42
Speaker
um So, as we were gone, a album dropped. A person who is very very much on the radar of America and the world for being a racist, maybe. um Maybe Nazi.
00:08:01
Speaker
um I don't think so. I think mental health has... There's a lot of issues with mental health in America, and I think he's the right person to talk about this. Kanye West released Bully.
00:08:13
Speaker
And a lot of people think it's the renaissance of Kanye. He did put the apology out to the Wall Street Journal, apologizing for all the stuff he said, and he does want to he doesn want to make things better and and try to communicate more with that group that he went after, the Jewish people and everybody. And it wasn't just Jewish people. was black people. was everybody. um There's a lot you can say about Kanye.
00:08:39
Speaker
There's a lot of problems. He said a lot of bad things, but we've known from the very beginning that he's got a he's got a weird mind. um And then you chalk it up to the accident that he had back in 2003.
00:08:54
Speaker
There could be some brain damage there. Legitimate brain damage. If you ever see the pictures of that accident and what he looked like through the wire video and all that, he went through a hell of a time.
00:09:05
Speaker
And that could that could very much destroy somebody's psyche. and i And I have a feeling between that and his mother dying, um that does a toll on your mental health and and your physical health if that's the case if it was from the accident. But not saying his anything he said is forgiven. It's just...
00:09:21
Speaker
There are some things there that he could definitely apologize, work on, communicate with that community and the communities that he's offended that notugh would not necessarily make it right, but it could turn it into a direction where not necessarily even be forgiven, but it could be understandable. um Now, we always talk about this separating the artists through the real life.
00:09:49
Speaker
um For example, Michael Jackson, there's a lot of controversy with him. at r Kelly, if you like his music. Bill Cosby. Kanye. Now on that list, unfortunately, for all the racist stuff he's said. But I love his music. The College Dropout is my favorite album of all time.
00:10:05
Speaker
Complete from beginning to end, every song on that album is perfect. The production is perfect. The writing that he had on that, was who was done by GLC and done by Consequence at the time, and him, was outstanding.
00:10:18
Speaker
i know you have different I know you like ah you like light late registration a little bit more than College Dropout, or are you kind of on the same level? Cold Dropout's my favorite. Yeah, okay. and and I mean, I'm saying the best album of all time of any genre, and I think I truly believe that. I mean, I've listened to The Beatles, I've listened to everything.
00:10:36
Speaker
I just love the production from the beginning to the end. um And it's very hard for me personally to say that that album is not any good just because of the stuff that he said, especially with somebody like myself who's been through mental breakdowns, been through that type of shit. um I understand where your mind goes when you have a nervous breakdown where you when you have some sort of an anxiety attack or whatever it could be that's part of his psyche. um And if you don't get the medication right, not necessarily even that, just therapy, anything to to kind of level that out.
00:11:10
Speaker
i don't want to get too much into it. I already am more than I wanted because I want to just talk about the album, but you kind of have to talk about the person before you get into the good stuff. um Bully, i don't know if you had a chance to listen to it or not.
00:11:23
Speaker
No. It is very good. First listen, I loved it. And I've been listening to it off and on. There's about nine songs that I love on this album. I think 18 songs on the track that I absolutely love. That remind me a lot of the Kanye of the past. um Punch Drunk.
00:11:40
Speaker
Trying to think of the other ones. Punch Drunk. The Bully song with CeeLo. I've had that on repeat for two weeks now. um what's the other one there was another one uh preacher man that song's been out for a while but he remastered it and re-recorded it for the album it's a great song too but i just love his perception production style i love the uh of course the soul beats uh and everything um the other thing he did he did so fi um now There are two more things i want to talk about. talk about this first.
00:12:09
Speaker
I was waiting for this album because Kanye is known for delaying albums. doesn't release it when he says going release it. So this album was supposed to be out like a month ago. And in what never showed up.
00:12:20
Speaker
Never showed up. kind kept getting delayed Got delayed like two weeks. And I realized that the Donda 2 album... which was extremely, it was exclusively on the Steam deck that he had, whatever the hell it was called, it a special thing that you had to buy on his website for like $250, it was the only way you could listen to the album without pirating, so i never listened to it three years ago, two years ago, whenever it came out. listened to it, Donda 2, wasn't a huge fan of Donda 1, Donda 2 has some great songs on it too, very good um I would say not not if not as good as Bully. um is kind of like what you could tell that kney This is kind of what I'm getting to. You can tell tell that kanye Kanye was going through some shit in Donda too. Same with Donda. Same with his last 10 years worth of albums. You can tell that he's going through a lot of mental shit. Um, and Donda too, the production was great on it. The songs were great on it. The crew that he had working on it was great.
00:13:17
Speaker
Bully was more of the Kanye of old. it wasn't, it was more commercialized, less controversial. You could tell his mind was clear in his voice and the way he was talking, the way he was rapping, the way he was singing. Clearer than I'd heard him in in the last 10 years, for sure. um But he but he did he did perform at SoFi two nights in a row. Made like $33 million. dollars um And the one thing I want to talk about is he brought Lauryn Hill out on the second night. And if anybody knows the history of All Falls Down, which was on the college dropout, Lauryn Hill did the MTV Unplugged.
00:13:53
Speaker
Mr. Even, uh, iniquity or whatever it was called. And he she wouldn't, she wouldn't clear the sample. Plus it was MTV. They wouldn't clear the sample for Kanye. So we got Selena Johnson, an artist at the time to record her, her rerecord that part of the song all falls down. Um, 22 years later for the very first time, Kanye and Lauren Hill linked up in a live concert. And she performed that part live with Kanye for the first time.
00:14:20
Speaker
It was a moment, if you're a fan of Kanye's music in the past, it was definitely a moment. of a kind of full circle moment that you're like, wow, that's really fucking cool. Like I mentioned, a lot of people aren't going to like the conversation of Kanye, and I knew that going into this, but I did want to mention the Bully album is pretty damn good, considering. Not saying that he's a good person at all. Not saying that he it's ah it's a scapegoat to blame it on mental health, but he does have a lot of track record for mental health to be taking a toll on him.
00:14:51
Speaker
Between the accident and everything he's gone through in life and just somebody that's had mental mental health issues in the past. I totally understand that so I'm hoping that he's getting the help he needs and he won't forget and he will go and try to apologize to the groups that he's offended and and said bad shit about in the last ah five years or so. That's really really been really been um a blemish on his history and legacy,

TV Show Recaps and Updates

00:15:17
Speaker
I guess, unfortunately, because I do love his music, I love his style of production and everything, so... Um...
00:15:24
Speaker
Well, with that being said, let's jump into what we watched this week. Watched while we were gone. Paradise ended. Paradise episode 8, the finale of season 2. Paradise is a great show. I think season 2 was just as good as the first season.
00:15:37
Speaker
And it did pickt get picked up for a third season. So we'll talk about that hopefully when it comes out in a couple years. Sterling K. Brown is amazing in this show. Definitely, I don't think I've seen him in much besides this. And a little scene he had in Black Panther. Um, yeah, very good show.
00:15:55
Speaker
Uh, did you have a chance to watch the shrinking finale? I have not, no. Okay, I won't get into any particulars, but I will talk about this the show in it in itself. Show was only supposed to be three seasons. You already knew that. Mm-hmm. Uh, talking about the, pretty much the the grief of somebody passing and and trying to persevere that. Jason Segel, the star of this show, and his wife passed in before the first season, and trying to get over that, and his lu and his young daughter also trying to get over that, and and kind of get over grief and forgiveness and all that. um Created by Brett Goldstein, if if you know Ted Lasso, he's a star, Ted Lasso, one of the stars. um
00:16:35
Speaker
But it got picked up for a fourth season, and the show ended on pretty much what was going to be the original plan. Three seasons, done. All the storylines are wrapped up. All the character storylines are wrapped up.
00:16:49
Speaker
So, what's going to happen with the fourth season? that you picked up A lot of people love this show, just like Ted Lasso. um Well, it's going to be picked up for a fourth season. They're going to time jump, which we kind of figured. They're going to go ahead probably a few years, pick up on the same exact characters. Everybody's coming back, including Harrison Ford.
00:17:07
Speaker
A lot of people say, and i believe I believe this too, it's one of his best acting roles he's ever done in his career. I believe yeah. Yeah, it's very, very good. i'm Not only any particulars of the season, but it definitely does wrap up everything with a nice bow. um And interesting to see where everybody everybody's coming back and and trying to see where this picks up a couple years from now whenever it comes back. but Great show. It's on Apple TV, all three seasons. 11 episodes this season. I think it's 10 every other season. So definitely worth watching that Ted Lasso.
00:17:39
Speaker
um daredevil born again you all caught up with that hopefully right uh daredevil daredevil born again last week's episodes were great uh daredevil and the swordsman had a breakout scene um it was one of those uh one of those continuous shot scenes of them breaking out of a uh bad bad time um and they were fighting bad guys um and this episode this week's episode was outstanding Reminded me of Daredevil of the old Netflix series.
00:18:07
Speaker
Um, all about bullseye in the beginning. The bullseye beginning of this episode was fantastic. Yeah. Yeah, was. It was, it was done so well. The actor who plays bullseye, I'm glad they brought him back to the Disney plush series. Um, I don't remember his name off the top of my head, but, um, fantastic job in this episode.
00:18:27
Speaker
Makes me want to have a banana milkshake. Um, And the end of the episode, spoiler, ah skip for the next 30 seconds, um Wilson Fisk has a box boxing max match, and Bullseye comes in and tries to attack ah tries to attack him, and ends up, from what we see, either inch mortally injuring or killing his wife, Vanessa.
00:18:54
Speaker
Mm-hmm. and we don't know anything, because it was, it was kind of just a click cliffhanger, and we'll find out in episode 5 next week, but, whoa, what a great fucking episode. Um, and this all leads up to Punisher.
00:19:07
Speaker
The finale is in the beginning of May, Punisher. We'll talk about that in a little bit, the new trailer that came out, but... Yeah, great episode, great show on Disney Plus currently. They're about halfway through, so yeah, definitely watch that. um The Boys return for their final season this week. of Boys Season 5, you got two episodes this week. First episode was incredible.
00:19:31
Speaker
Second episode I thought was just as good. A lot of people are shitting on it being not as good as the first, but major death happened in the first episode of a character we've known from the first season. um Wasn't in the marketing should have realized it actually was in the marketing I see him right there, but I'm not gonna get into the big spoiler, but um Second episode was all about trying to test out the this virus that they're going to try to kill Homelander with and the hilarity that ensues with this big rock monster. Yep. Great show. This this airs tuesdays Tuesday nights on um on prime Amazon Prime. Five seasons. If you want to watch it, go ahead. um I wasn't going to bring it up, but I'm also watching Invincible.
00:20:15
Speaker
um i'm only I've watched the first season. It's in incredible. school okay um i'm I'm only a little bit into see season two because I've had so much to watch this week. but yeah um It's an incredible. Great show. Not a huge fan of animation anymore, um but this is one of my favorite animated things I've seen in a while. It's an R-rated Saturday morning cartoon that we grew up on. It's how I feel like about it. Especially that first season.
00:20:39
Speaker
It's like the boys mixed with like Super Friends. It's very much on that on par with that. Which, by the way, the Invincible video game is in the alpha testing stage right now. It's a three-on-three fighter.
00:20:50
Speaker
Yeah, I saw that. It's available this weekend. Yeah. oh awesome uh yeah so the boys on amazon prime if you want to watch along with us uh just started so and probably the end of may so uh series finale ends in may so catch up on that uh get a brief half hour glimpse of the harry potter the craft behind the magic before we left uh there was a brand new trailer trailer was outstanding um It's kind of hard to recreate something that everybody already loves with books, and and especially with the movies that everybody

Film Discussions and War Movies

00:21:21
Speaker
loves. But they're trying to create it a reboot. I'm wondering if they're going bring in the music.
00:21:25
Speaker
They did leave stuff out of the books, correct? A lot of stuff. They left stuff out of the movies from the books. yeah there So they'll be able to do that. yeah It'll be like the proper telling. Oh yeah, and they're going to have eight hours compared to the two hours to tell every season. so And every season we'll talk about one book. i'm I'm sure once they get into the last book, which is double the size of all the other books, um that'll probably, like the movies, be split up into two seasons. But we'll see. um But this is all about the making and finding of the actors to play all these characters in this new TV series. And um just the look of this show, the actors that they chose, John Lithgow playing Dumbledore is going to be outstanding. um All the kids playing the main three kids and all the all the kids of Hogwarts is going to be great. um Nick Frost as Hagrid is going to be great. I i can't wait.
00:22:12
Speaker
It's going to be one of those shows. It's up Christmas Day, um which has always been synonymous with Harry Potter Christmas releases. So i'm glad they stuck with that. Yeah, yeah great great documentary, only a half hour on HBO Max if you want to watch it.
00:22:26
Speaker
um And while we were away, I had a war movie marathon for no particular reason other than a draft may be happening soon, but they're all Vietnam movies I've never watched before. I think you've watched probably every single one of these, correct?
00:22:39
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Apocalypse Now you didn't do, or you've seen it already? I've seen that. i think we talked about it a couple months ago. yeah Okay, I thought so. I couldn't remember. yeah But first one is Deer Hunter. 1978, Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, John Cazale in his last role. He actually had cancer. Filmed this while he was going through his cancer. i think' I think he had lung cancer. And died like weeks after filming stopped, after he stopped filming. And they filmed all the scene in the beginning of the of filming the movie. um And of course, you know, John, John Caziel, he was in the Godfather. He played Fredo. um Dog Day Afternoon. We just talked about that recently. Meryl Streep's in this movie as well. Fantastic movie. It's good, yeah. yeah and It's not necessarily a war movie. There's a little bit in the Vietnam War, but it's more about Russian roulette, which is fucking crazy.
00:23:32
Speaker
The scenes with that and the very last scene of the movie is nuts. Christopher Walken. I haven't seen him in too much acting roles. This is great. If you want to ever see something with him acting, this is great. What's that other movie? theic movie He's usually just Christopher Walken.
00:23:47
Speaker
Right. um Now he's a character. what you're saying is like him actually like, yeah, every character is like him. Just as Christopher Walken. Just in a new setting. yeah um The Stephen King movie, was it Silver Bullet? Yeah, the other one. i remember the name of it It was really good. No, that Silver Bullet. No, he saw Vision. Dead Zone.
00:24:05
Speaker
Great in that movie. That's the other movie, I think, if you want to see two roles of his acting prowess, this one and that one. But great movie. 1986, Platoon. um Oliver Stone.
00:24:17
Speaker
um This is created from his experience in Vietnam. William Dafoe, Charlie Sheen, Johnny Drama. That was great movie. yeah Every time you ever see um Kevin Dillon talking about Platoon, it's funny. Yep.
00:24:33
Speaker
If you've seen Entourage. um Great movie. Willem Dafoe, great in that movie. um But the movie, my favorite of these three is Full Metal Jacket. Especially the beginning part of Full Metal Jacket. Not so much the end, but the beginning is very good with Vincent Dixon. I've never seen that before. Vincent D'Onofrio. This is Stanley Kubrick.
00:24:53
Speaker
Kubrick at his at his best probably, I would say 1987. The Drill Chargent, I can't remember his name, but the the scene is iconic in this movie. R. Lee Remy, I think his name is. yeah um yeah yeah This is one of those movies too where the first half and the second half are completely like different. i remember it's been a long time they're completely different like um That War movie about the pacifist is similar like that where the first half is completely different than the second half.
00:25:18
Speaker
um Yeah, I love Full Metal Jacket. I haven't seen it in fucking 20 years, though. Yeah, i kind of figured you've seen all these. That's why I didn't mention them. But they are great. Full Metal Jacket is fantastic. Vincent D'Onofrio in the beginning of this movie.
00:25:31
Speaker
I don't know what he i don't know had any acting acting accolades from it or not. But he should have. um He just had a ah turn from the very beginning very first scene in this movie. He's joking, comedic guy. And the drill sergeant beats him down to the point where he is the darkest character I've ever seen on screen. One of the darkest characters i' ever seen on screen towards the end of this. He's very good in the movie. Very good movies all all in all. um Like I said, watched him for no particular reason other than we may be going to war.
00:26:00
Speaker
Who knows? But, um yeah. Watched a time travel movie. i'm not sure if you had a chance to watch it or not. Nope. Mike and Nick and Nick and Alice. This came out on Hulu while we were away.
00:26:11
Speaker
Starring Vince Vaughn. um Starring James Marston. Starring Elsa Gonzalez. Starring Vince Vaughn as himself again. As another character from the future. Time travel fuckery, of course. um Overall...
00:26:28
Speaker
The time for time travel fucker is hard to depict in movies. And this movie, I think, had a hard time trying to decide what it was going to be. ah Multiple genres. Time travel. Action. lot of the movie was set up at the end towards like a John Wick style action. um There's romantic comedy mixed into it. R-rated comedies. Mobster movies. It was all rolled into one. That's why the movie is not hot. It wasn't...
00:26:52
Speaker
It didn't live up to my hype, but I also love time travel movies. And I think it's just because of Back to the Future, pretty much. But um three and a half out of five. ah five Wasn't bad. I'll probably watch it again later on, but nothing i'd go I'd go say. I'll go watch this right now. It's incredible, but it was good.
00:27:11
Speaker
Good, decent movie. And a couple of other movies. There's some movies that you and I have watched separately that we're going to be talking about ah that we both caught up on. And I will start with The Bride.
00:27:23
Speaker
Your review mentioned that The Bride is what Jokerfolia do should have been. Yes. And I agree one million percent. the acting Her acting in this is incredible and is exactly what Lady Gaga should have done as as Harley Quinn. Yep.
00:27:38
Speaker
Um, yeah she, she, I, the movie itself is not that good to me, but her acting and his acting are incredible. Yes. Um, and that's what it'll be remembered for. Um, the movie itself is kind of, I'd say like three and a half out of five for me. It's based on a story that was just kind of made as a joke anyways. Okay. And just simply different than this story. Um,
00:27:59
Speaker
And like the whole like the dramatic parts were kind of weird, where she's talking like she's on theater stage. Like Mary Shelley. Yeah, it was weird. yeah Yeah, but i really i enjoyed it a lot, but i also saw it in IMAX, and don't get that opportunity much. Right, yeah. But that was a movie as a movie, it's it's just three, three and a half for me. um yeah But the experience was a lot of fun for me. when i Yeah, i could see I could see that experience, especially in the IMAX. I think it was film for film for IMAX right on the poster there.
00:28:26
Speaker
Um, her she's an incredible actress. Um, makes me want to see Hamnet, which I never saw yet. Um, yeah like i think it's on Peacock. Yeah, it's on, it's on, uh, somewhere that we have access to as well without saying anything, uh, to get us incriminated, but, Yeah, great movie as far as that's concerned, their acting. Other than that, I wasn't a huge fan of the story, but she's incredible.
00:28:49
Speaker
ah First thing I've ever seen her in, and she's she's remarkable. so um The other movie that you told me was fantastic, Theater Experience for You with Send Help. I enjoyed that movie. Very Sam Raimi.
00:29:01
Speaker
Very much Sam Raimi, lot of jump scares. I told you that because you're not a fan of her, and I told you that she was fantastic in this movie. Best thing I've seen with her, and that says a lot. Yeah, by far. I'm not huge fan. But yeah. um I mean, neither one of these people are good people. Like, no people like think that she's a good person. it I'm like, she's, she's a piece of shit. He's a piece of shit. Like they deserve everything they got to each other. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Four out of five for me, the jump scares were great. Sam Raimi, you definitely see his style of of filmmaking in this. Yeah. Fantastic. The rat, the rat killing scene.
00:29:38
Speaker
That was one of the best scenes ever. So fucking good. Because it is just, it just, oh yeah like you're sitting there at the theater and you're just like wincing in your chair and then, yeah. Oh my God.
00:29:49
Speaker
Um, Yeah, great filmmaking is part of that. Yeah, great movie overall. Dylan O'Brien also in this. Rachel McAdams, the star. Yes, he was good. He was great. I don't think I've seen him in much besides this and a few other things. I thought he did great job. Yeah. Yeah, great. And the one thing I cannot wait to talk about, saw you reviewed it on Letterboxd. I was hoping want to talk about it today. Before we left, I watched Project Hail Mary.
00:30:14
Speaker
And you just watched what, yesterday? The day before or whenever you watched it when you came back? Yes, yesterday. Project Hail Mary, fantastic movie.

Project Hail Mary Analysis

00:30:21
Speaker
I think I give it a 4.5 out of 5. Yeah. Yeah, what did you think? 4.5 out of 5 also. Awesome.
00:30:29
Speaker
I believe my my buddy Ethan, we were talking about a little bit last night in the Discord, and he was like, I don't trust anyone's opinion if they give this less than a four. Yeah, i don't either. It's true, the movie is fantastic. um The entire time I was watching it, though, I was just thinking about how much I missed the fact we don't have an IMAX around us. Yeah. But I was also, like, thinking how good this is going look on my OLED.
00:30:50
Speaker
Oh, yeah, incredible. Certain scenes of this movie were shot just so beautiful, and the colors pop so well. And I saw it in the shitty-ass, like... theater that is like the smaller theater at, at, um, horse one over regal so I didn't even have like an RPX or anything like that. So, um, it was fantastic. The entire movie was great. I like how it was, uh,
00:31:12
Speaker
how it was done without spoiling it. You find out towards the end what actually happened and how he ended up on the ship. um Yeah. How they told that, how they told us good told that story kind of in a nonlinear way with flashbacks and whatever. It was great. Yes. The best part of this movie was the buddy relationship between him and Rocky. oh yeah yeah um he great There's a great needle drop a Beatles song at the end The Two of Us song yeah I love that of course I love when they needle drop any Beatles song um Great movie If anybody has not seen it, watch it the theater if you can It'll be on digital eventually but Great movie yes Worth watching in the theater if you can um Ryan Gosling he is He is the next movie star He is our movie star right now Have you gotten ah The audiobook yet?
00:32:01
Speaker
I have not. It is on my list now. That and his next book, Artemis, which is going to be, I think, a TV series. yeah Ray Porter does the audiobook, and um Ethan was telling me that ah they do like sound effects and shit like that in it, so it's like an audio telling of the book.
00:32:20
Speaker
Mostly with the Rocky stuff and how he's communicating, yeah but I love it when they do that stuff with audiobooks. What do you think? Do you think they should have ah do you think they should have announced that there was a that Rocky was in this movie before the trailer all the marketing came out of it?
00:32:36
Speaker
Do you think they should have announced that or should have been a surprise when you saw it in the theater? so That's kind of like what everybody's talking about right now. that it Was he a part of the marketing? Oh yeah, Rocky was... They had a whole clip of Rocketing. I remember the teaser that showed like his hand, but that was it.

Cinema Experiences and Recommendations

00:32:51
Speaker
Yeah, they they had a hole they had a whole scene, I think it was shown on Kimmel or somewhere, of the whole entire scene of Rocky entering the ship for the first time. With a rolling ball and everything. I don't think it matters.
00:33:02
Speaker
Okay, yeah. Yeah, marketing is weird. Marketing is weird nowadays, um especially for something like this. i don't I don't think it gave too much away, especially the ending or anything, but it would have been cool to see that without really knowing that, oh yeah, it's going be an alien life form out in space.
00:33:17
Speaker
And, oh, yeah, um one other thing I want to say about my theatrical experience. um There was this kid in the row in front of me who was, like, must have been seven years old. Really? I'm like, why why are you taking a seven-year-old kid to see this when, one, it's a two-and-a-half-hour movie, two, Mario just opened.
00:33:36
Speaker
The kid was, like, getting up and down the entire movie and, like, left. And going up and down the aisles, I'm like, dude, why are you bringing a seven or eight-year-old kid to fucking this and not Mario where he can do whatever he wants and no one gives a shit?
00:33:47
Speaker
Right, yeah. yeah no I understand that, too. um I think the first movie I ever saw in a theater was a Disney movie. It was like Little Mermaid. So, yeah. What is he doing in Project Hail Mary? Good question. Yes.
00:33:59
Speaker
um Great movie. Worth watching. Definitely go see it in the theater if you can. Speaking of theater, we'll talk about some trailers. We'll talk about that in news.
00:34:15
Speaker
And it's not a new set of the trailer roundup.
00:34:20
Speaker
First trailer for a movie called The End of Oak Street. A movie done by J.J. Abrams and rumored to be a sequel to... What's that movie? Fuck. The monster movie. The movie where they do a bunch of secret sequels to that nobody knows. Wow, what why can't I think of the movie?
00:34:37
Speaker
The found footage movie. What happens is the whole entire street gets sent to somewhere in another dimension, another time or somewhere, and you see what looks to be a dinosaur in the background.
00:34:48
Speaker
um lot of people are speculating. Cloverfield. a lot of people are speculating. Oh, yeah, okay. I was looking it Why did that pass my mind completely? um a lot of people are speculating that's a Cloverfield monster. I don't know. But it also could be set back in a prehistoric time, which makes me think. Ewan McGregor stars in this, Anne Hathaway. Comes out August 14th, like I said, direct produced by J.J. Abrams. That's why kind of people are speculating. Is this a Cloverfield-related project? Right, because they've done that, what, at least once before, right? maybe Yeah, they did Cloverfield Lane. and There was another movie that wasn't even called Cloverfield, but it was right found out later on. Was that the one Matt Reeves directed?
00:35:30
Speaker
can't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember, but... Yeah, keep an eye on that. New trailer coming out this weekend of Euphoria, season three. Not getting good reviews. um Wait to see, but ah two episodes, I think, drop on Sunday, or one episode drops on Sunday. We'll watch it, talk about it. Is this the type of show where you expect critics to enjoy anyways? It's literally about catfishing fucking high schoolers. It's for it's for our younger audience, for sure. but I honestly don't have any interest in this after... i mean, my favorite character was Fez.
00:36:02
Speaker
I was going to i was gonna say um fat If you've never seen a Euphoria, watch the first two seasons. Fez is one of the best characters in this show, by far.
00:36:15
Speaker
And everybody that stars in this show is a movie star now. Zendaya, Jacob Elardi, Sidney Sweeney. They're all movie stars. Coleman Domingo, all huge movie stars. So, uh, worth watching first

Upcoming Film and TV Projects

00:36:29
Speaker
two seasons. I'm going to watch it. I'm going to talk about next week. Uh, just one episode comes out on Sunday. but yeah Yeah. Just because, um, another remake TV show coming on Apple TV called, uh, Cape Fear. The trailer looked awesome. Um, Harvey Air Bardem playing, uh, the main character that De Niro played the cast. The cast is amazing. Patrick Wilson and Amy Adams. Uh, looks great. Really? Yup.
00:36:51
Speaker
ye Yep, looks great. um Another movie, i still what it's, it's an A24 movie starring it Chia Tiller Ejiofor called Backrooms. I don't know what it's about, even from the trailer, other than it's a backroom ah of ah of a of a department store, and there are may be a secret entrance, a secret maze-like underground, I don't know, but it looked interesting, and it's A24, so we're probably going to watch it, because we we both love those type of movies, so yeah you more so than me, but got a brand new trailer for Masters of the Universe, and I think the marketing kind of hurt this on this time, wasn't was kind of like the first trailer, but second trailer I thought looked more cartoonish, looked like action figures come to life, um wasn't a huge fan of the second trailer, the way it looked, um, seeing Skeletor and all that looked very, very, very B-movie-like, I guess you could say.
00:37:40
Speaker
Um, but yeah, uh, Masters in the Universe, He-Man, wasn't big on that. We mentioned it before. It's kind of a little bit before our generation, so um Brand new documentary was announced and trailer came out this week ah to coincide with WrestleMania. Hulk Hogan, Real American, coming out April 22nd, the week after WrestleMania on Netflix. um and It's Hulk Hogan's very last interview before he died, talking about his career, talking about everything Hulk Hogan. um And you know it's going be full of lies. So we'll definitely be talking about that documentary. um
00:38:16
Speaker
Double Wears Prada. I know this movie is big. The first one. I don't remember anything about it. I know I've seen it. I know I liked it kind of. But Devil Wears Prada 2 comes out May 1st. It's going to huge movie for Disney. I think 20th Century Fox. um I, I, it's not really in my wheelhouse. I'll probably watch it when it comes out on streaming, but, um, I may go back and watch the first one because I don't remember why it was so good and why people love it. Maybe it's merril Meryl, Meryl Streep's performance. I don't know. Um, but yeah, brand new trailer for that came out. New character posters right there.
00:38:52
Speaker
Uh, got a brand new trailer for a movie called the invite starring Seth Rogen, Olivia wild, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton. I believe it's directed by Olivia wild. Um, Rashida Jones wrote it.
00:39:04
Speaker
um And it comes out this summer. um Edward Norton, we both love him. I love Seth Rogen. I think we both love him. Olivia Wilde, Penelope Cruz. The trail looked interesting. It's about a couple who live across the way from another couple. And they witness Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde kind of going through a breakup phase in their relationship. And Edward Norton, Penelope Cruz are another couple that come in and in are trying to fuck with them, I guess. I don't i don't really know from the trailer what what they're doing, but... Keep an eye on that.
00:39:32
Speaker
ah And we got a brand new trailer for The Punisher One Last Kill. About a minute and a half trailer. The movie's going to be an hour. so it didn't give too much away. But it's Frank Castle doing Frank Castle things and killing a lot of people. so Cannot wait for that. Love Bernthal. I think one of the best castings that MCU has ever done.
00:39:54
Speaker
um Perfect for the role of Frank Castle. Perfect for the role of the Punisher. Cannot wait to see this. Cannot wait to see him in Brand New Day. um And finally, we got the trailer. Official trailer.
00:40:07
Speaker
Theatrical trailer for Supergirl. um And this movie is going to stun a lot of people, especially if you've read the comic book, you know. um they they went They went all in with the screen-to-screen-to-book adaptation. Yep. And it looks, there's scenes right out of the comic book, as you can see right there, that are right in right in line with what you see in the in the in the graphic novel in the movie. Yeah. Cannot wait.
00:40:33
Speaker
I love her in Game of Thrones. The little quick scene we saw in Superman. Loved her in that. I love the way they're portraying her. Kind of as this drunken, younger teenage girl. Angsty girl. um and She's good in that ah Kevin Bacon Netflix. I think it was Netflix or Prime. I think came out last summer, I want to say. She was good in that too. I want i wanted to see that. and I haven't watched it yet. um the only The only thing I'm kind of skeptical on is the way they have Krem looking.
00:41:01
Speaker
Yeah, same. Different people from the comics. Looks like Taserface. Lots of, ah you can see in the picture there if you're on YouTube, lots of ah piercings in his face. Looks very strange, but we'll see because he wears a mask in the movie too. so um and they and they went And they actually went there and he shoots Crypto.
00:41:22
Speaker
lot people fell in love with Crypto and Superman in the trailer. It's just like in the comic book. He shoots Crypto and and and it's revealed this that that Kara has three days to try to save Crypto. So that's exactly what happened in the comic book. so Excited for this movie. Cannot wait. um While we were away, second week, Project Hail Mary did another $54 million. But last weekend, Super Mario...
00:41:46
Speaker
Galaxy came out and did the biggest opening of 2026 so far, ah biggest opening day of $34.5 million, and overall $130.9 million in the three-day, and it was a five-day week because I think it was Easter weekend. Plus, it came out on Wednesday, so was $190 million in the five-day total last weekend, which is huge. Um, uh, not a lot of people are loving it compared to the first movie. The first movie got panned a little bit too, but, um, and it's expected to have a, uh, uh, oh, sorry. Uh, slightly, slightly behind, uh, the first movie. Uh, I thought I had the worldwide here. A hundred, uh, 370 million worldwide total. I did. Yeah. So yeah, I did, I did gangbusters last weekend. Um, kids are seeing it. It's a kid friendly movie, so you can bring your family there. Um, and Charlie Day pitches that Danny DeVito in the Super Mario Bros. 3 movie should be playing Wario, and I completely agree to that. Um, Danny DeVito playing Wario would be great. Um, another movie opened that weekend, last weekend, The Drama, um, made $28 million worldwide. Uh, third biggest global opening for an A24 movie. This is with Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. There's a big twist, which I got spoiled with a couple weeks ago. i'm not gonna bring up now, but, um...
00:43:06
Speaker
Yeah, everybody says they love it. Everybody says the twist doesn't really matter. It's more of the story of of everything that has to deal with the twist. So I'm very excited to see it. I'll probably watch it when it comes out on digital.
00:43:17
Speaker
ah So yeah, um let's get into the news. Rest in peace. Rest in peace to a legend in our movie-loving history, James Tolkien. Didn't that ever have hair?
00:43:32
Speaker
James Tolkien... Principal Strickland and Back to the Future. One, two, and three.

Tributes and Film Legacy Discussions

00:43:39
Speaker
He came back for all those roles. um This, obviously, the character of Strickland, from the very first time you watch Back to the Future, and him being not the villain, but the the over... the over that's The principal character that's on Marty McFly's ass the whole entire time. of Being late to school.
00:43:59
Speaker
Being a slacker. All of that stuff. Even though you're supposed to hate him, you kind of fall in love with that character. And then they bring him back for two. You bring him back for three when they're in the Wild West, as you can see in the pictures on YouTube. 90-something years old. 92, I think. 90-something like that. um And because of this...
00:44:20
Speaker
I talked to Kevin. We are going to break down these movies individually. Give it the proper love that we love. This is both of our, one of our favorite movies, Back to the Future 1 especially. so So next week, um we are going to break down Back to Future 1.
00:44:37
Speaker
In full glory. And I'll review the 4K. And you can review the 4K. Yeah, perfect. um And, I mean, like we mentioned all the time, travel time travel fuckery begins with this movie and ends with this movie. there ah There's a lot of people that try to live up to the hype of Back to the Future and fail miserably. um a lot of people take the same mechanics and and make good time travel movies.
00:44:59
Speaker
But, yeah, we'll have to wait and see. if that ever happens again because never going to be a sequel to these movies um especially that michael j fox being as sick as he is bob gale says it's not going to happen but anyway this is all about james tolkien rest peace to him um he uh he was also was the other movie he was in he was in top gun he was yeah a few other ones around around the 80s so rest in peace to him Netflix, rising the price of their monthly prices

Streaming and Pricing Strategies

00:45:29
Speaker
again. Standard plans going from $7.99 $8.99. Standard without ads is going up this is to from And the premium plus, which is four k and all that other stuff,
00:45:41
Speaker
was twenty four ninety nine going up to twenty six ninety nine um, slippery slope for all these streaming services. Eventually they're going to, they're going plateau at a point where people aren't going to pay 30 bucks to watch Netflix.
00:45:53
Speaker
Um, and they're just going to steal. it I mean, the way it is now, I feel like it's like if something's on Netflix, you want to watch, you'll get that for a month and watch this all out or whatever. And then just, yeah, get rid of it and same with like peacock wait for something to be done and then you'll get it and watch what you want to watch and then i only have for the month and just kind of bouncing back and forth because nobody can afford because it is more than cable now um a lot more at least cable we were broken up growing up i mean cable now is like 230 bucks a month or whatever but yeah and i mean now all the streaming services offer sports so do you don't even need cable for that

Wrestling and Casting Updates

00:46:27
Speaker
Yep. Um, yeah, it's, it's definitely, it's definitely made, um, stealing shit, going, going berserk again, um, torrents and whatever, but um John Cena is going to host WrestleMania next weekend. Cena-housing.
00:46:46
Speaker
Yeah, Cena-housing. We'll talk all about WrestleMania next week. We'll bring that up later. But another documentary coming out next week, I believe five ah three days from now, on Monday, ah The Heartbreak Kid becoming Shawn Michaels. Comes out on Peacock, all about the rise and fall of Shawn Michaels and him. The rise again, if you want to say, on Peacock. I mean, on NXT. ah So we'll talk about that next week. I'm going watch that, i think, when it comes out on Monday or Tuesday. We got a brand new look at Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr. in the upcoming biopic about the Kennedys coming out on Netflix. That's him right there.
00:47:23
Speaker
Watch that. And Dexter. We love Dexter Resurrection. yeah Season 2 announcements finally came out of who's going be playing the New York Ripper. Brian Cox coming in to play New York Ripper. And Uma Thurman coming back to play Charlie from the first season. so Cannot wait for that and get more casting announcements. Speaking of that show, Peter Dinklage has joined Season 2 of Alien Earth.
00:47:48
Speaker
um Alien Earth was a was a pretty good show in the beginning. i kind of fell off towards the end, but I do love Peter Dinklage, so we'll have to keep an eye on that. A movie based on Metal Gear Solid. Never played the games, but Sony is going to be making the movie. Final Destination Bloodline directors are going to be in charge of that movie. So, yeah. Peaky Blinders. I haven't watched the movie yet because I'm not caught up on the series. I'll get to it probably sometime this spring or summer, but um a brand new generation of Peaky Blinders going to be happening on ah on Netflix.
00:48:24
Speaker
And joining the cast as the new lead is Jamie Bell, um who was the thing in ah the Fantastic Four-Stick movie. um Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Finley. I don't know any of these other people are, but um I do know that... Oh, Charlie Heaton, I know he's in he's in ah Stranger Things. That's him on the on the right there. And LaShana Lynch, she's also in... um The Marvel, she played, Ms. Marvel, she played Monica Rambeau's mother. Or Monica, yeah, Monica Rambeau's mother, don't remember her name. But yeah, coming out on Netflix, a Peaky Blinders sequel series set in the 60s, I think, after World War II.
00:49:08
Speaker
um And Ryan Coogler is in charge to executive produce a reboot of a series on Disney Plus based off the 90s show Animorphs. Did you ever watch that?
00:49:20
Speaker
Nope. Looks weird. same Sounds weird. And it's going to be on Disney+. I feel like would be something that Jordan Peele would do, not Ryan Coogler, but I'm sure Ryan grew up on it.
00:49:33
Speaker
Yeah, it's one of those nice... It seems like something that Peele would want to do. but yeah Rooster. Haven't talked about it much. A couple times I talked about it, but Rooster, this is Steve Carell on HBO, done by Bill Lawrence. Has been renewed for season two on HBO. About halfway through the season, I believe, and it's it's pretty

Sequel Announcements and Box Office Competition

00:49:54
Speaker
funny. It's a good show. Worth watching if you want see an R-rated comedy. so Jamie Tart, if you like Ted Lasso's in that. um Wednesday, announced some cast announcements for Season 3.
00:50:06
Speaker
Lena Headley from Game of Thrones, Andrew McCarthy from the eighty s And James Lance, speaking of Ted Lasso, he's he's the news reporter from Ted Lasso, joining the cast. watch I'll watch that when it comes out.
00:50:19
Speaker
ah Dan Levy, star and son of of Eugene Levy of Schitt's Creek, talked about how he had an idea for the sequel series. Schitt's Creek ended couple years ago, and he had an idea to bring the series back, but then Captain O'Hara died, and he's like, there's no way the show's coming back now. That series that that idea has kind of died with hers. Unfortunately, the show is pretty funny. I watched the first season.
00:50:44
Speaker
haven't gotten through it the whole thing yet, but I do plan on binging that whole thing eventually. um Murder, She Wrote movie. Coming out Christmas 2027 and Jamie Lee Curtis is going to be starring in it. Murder, She Wrote set in Maine.
00:50:59
Speaker
uh, Angel Lansbury played that role, lasted for like 11 or 12 seasons, uh, never watched it, but it was always on when we were growing up. It was always on. It was always on. My grandmother always had that on the background. Yep. Old people watched it and loved that show. Um, Housemaids Secret War, Housemaids, Housemaids is coming out the same day as Secret Wars on 12, 17, 20, 27. so they're going to be having a, this new, new poster for Housemaids Cindy Sweeney. Um,
00:51:29
Speaker
They're going to be having showdown. Avengers Secret Wars vs. The Housemaid. dang Ding, ding, ding. um We'll have to wait see on that. um <unk> Where are we at? Scream.
00:51:41
Speaker
Wasn't big on the last movie, but Scream 8 is in development. a Poker Face, the show that was on Peacock. The writers of that are going to be in charge of it. Good. okay Poker Face is fantastic. so Hopefully they can do something with this franchise. cause Whoever wrote the last one, Kevin Williamson, should never write another fucking so movie again.
00:52:00
Speaker
Okay. I agree. I don't know much about him other than he's involved in Scream, but yeah. Weapons. We talked about the prequel a while ago, and it did that it's moving forward. ah Zach Shields, who did Godzilla vs. Kong, is writing the script with Zach Kregor. I'm not sure Kregor's coming back to direct it or not. and I know he's got a lot on his plate, but... He's now kind of... gonna be like He's kind of the in guy in Hollywood right now.
00:52:26

It's called Gladys. It's a prequel to the Gladys character from Weapons. So, cannot wait to see that, because I do love that movie. I love that character. um This came out and then was then went completely nowhere. Ryan Gosling was going to star in the thing everywhere all at once, follow up from the directors. But then that then he dropped out of it after that, the Daniels, ah for some reason. i don't know why. Annette Bening and Andy Samperger are to start a new rom-com called 42.6 Years. a Film follows a man cryogenically frozen for 42.6 years and tries to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend who has lived a full life without him.
00:53:02
Speaker

00:54:17
Speaker
Andrew Garfield defends watching Harry Potter movies, even after the controversy with J.K. Rowling. He says... He wouldn't mention her by name. i don't want to get too much into that. um While we were away, the Star Wars mall show came out. still I believe it's still airing. Shadow Lord. i've Been renewed for a second season ahead of the season one. I have not watched it. um Oh, it's fucking awesome.
00:54:42
Speaker

They're keeping with the rule two, I guess is what the idea behind that is. And can also have the finale episodes on May the 4th, which is a Monday.
00:54:57
Speaker
Okay, okay. It's really it's really fucking good. i recommend it, and it's short. so Okay, yeah maybe I'll watch that this weekend. Maw Shadow Lord, continuing the story of Darth Maul from, of course, Phantom Menace. So, yeah.
00:55:12
Speaker
The character poster's there if you want to see them on YouTube. And speaking of Star Wars, the Adam and Driver Act Star Wars movie, The Hunt for Ben Solo, as far as Steven Solberg is concerned, it says it's not going happen ever. I think it's just a sad taste of his mouth of it being canceled after working on it for over a year. He's like, yeah, not going to happen. Not on my watch.
00:55:31
Speaker
um And an official date for Spaceballs 2 was announced, April twenty third of 2027, year from now. I cannot wait. Love Spaceballs 1. I'm hoping Spaceballs 2 at least touches on that. And having Rick Moranis coming out of his acting hiatus is kind of a good look for me. So we'll have to wait and see. And while we were away, PlayStation announced it's PlayStation 5.
00:55:58
Speaker
All versions... are jumping up either $100, $150, in a ridiculous price jump. um This is what the prices of the consoles were after just a couple of years six years after being released. The PlayStation 1, six years after release, started out at $299 and went down to $999. PlayStation was Six years later, was the place issue five was four ninety nine when it came out And I think it's the digital edition is going to be $649 next month.
00:56:32
Speaker
ridiculous Ridiculously crazy how those prices went up um it prices yet It prices you out of gaming unless you have a lot of money, unless you really want to invest in it. Because these consoles come out every five years. but um And also, Super Mario movie, and what they

Gaming and Merchandise Highlights

00:56:50
Speaker
announced it before the trailer before the movie was released, which I thought was bad marketing. But Glenn Powell was cast as Fox McCloud from Star Fox in the Super Mario Galaxy movie. i thought that I thought that would have been a great reveal in the movie. I don't know why they announced that through the marketing. Well, I mean, it's the voice, so, like, probably wouldn't be sitting there going, oh, that's Glenn Powell.
00:57:10
Speaker
Right, why do they... why Even the character... Why is there why is Fox McCloud in the fucking movie to begin with? um so They must be doing a Smash Bros. Must be a Smash Bros. angle to this movie or something. and That's the speculation going forward. but um Speaking of Nintendo, Ark Arena of Time, there's rumors that a remake is coming out at the end of the year at Christmas and maybe a new console for the Ark Arena of Time game, which has been out for 30 years now. That ages you. um ah And also a new Star Fox game.
00:57:43
Speaker
I could see the Ark Arena time. Everybody wants to see a remake of that, an HD remake, just something with Ark Arena. It's one one of my favorite games of all time. a lot of people love that game, so keep an eye on that. Mario going through a 40th anniversary phase as well, and Best Buy announced this cool little case. If you order two games, I believe, on Best Buy's website for the Switch, you can get this case for free.
00:58:06
Speaker

00:58:24

First Blood. Never seen any of other ones. It gets way better. like The first Blood is basically a psychological thriller. yeah And the rest are just straight up action movies. um
00:59:15
Speaker
The last one that came out is basically Home Alone, but with Stallone just fucking killing everyone. He just booby traps a house. It's fuck it it's so much fun. but If you want the 4K huge box set with slip case, this is the set for you.
00:59:30
Speaker
um Avatar. If I ever go on him. Oh, yeah, i was wondering how much it was going to be. Avatar also coming out with a 4K 1 through 3 Avatar box set, book, a whole bunch of special features and everything.
00:59:43
Speaker
On the Avatar thing, I'm just going to wait for the entire fucking thing to release because who knows what we're going to have for technology at that time. Like, I'm not going to the 3 now when you know there's at least two more coming or one more coming anyways. That's a definite.
00:59:55
Speaker
Right. but'm sure But I'm sure they look fantastic on or so. Unless you just wanted to see it in why would you want this right now? I'll just wait. You can buy it for $20 or watch it on Disney Plus if you want.

Marvel and DC Cinematic Updates

01:02:10
Speaker
um Spider-Man, brand new day. Tom Holland says if they filmed new scenes for it, adding more humor and layering in a villain plotline in a new way. um People are speculating they added a new villain. I think they're just kind of building on what they already have is by the sound of it. um Some spy shots of Daredevil Born Again Season 3, which just started filming. And we see Mike Coulter and Finn Jones on the set joining the cast.
01:02:37
Speaker
No official word yet, but there they are on the set of Born Again Season 3. And also, Charlie Cox has been training with Kit Harington in a gym in New York City.
01:02:48
Speaker
i Speculating by this influencer that Kit Harington is going in Born Again. I'm not sure if he will or not, but where is the Black Knight? They set an eternal, so yeah, why not? Where is the Black Knight? You have the sword but swordsman in there, so... I can only see them connecting him to that, since they're not using him for anything else, apparently.
01:03:09
Speaker
The other thing, there's speculation that that this is all going to set up... This is all going to set up a Dark Adventures or a our Midnight Suns movie. Midnight Suns, yep.
01:03:25
Speaker
This would be a great start if they could do that through Daredevil, the series. It would be a great start to do that through Hell's Kitchen. Because um not necessarily, Daredevil's not a part of that, but there's a lot of Hell's Kitchen in part of Midnight Suns. um You could bring in Blade through this. You could bring in a lot of stuff, a lot of characters from that franchise into this. You could also bring in Ghost Rider. You could debut him in the show if you wanted to, if they wanted to go down the supernatural route, which they haven't really done with Born Again, but it would be interesting if they went that route. I don't know.
01:03:57
Speaker
um Marvel Zombies officially getting a second season. um Okay. um I am excited for X-Men 97. They got a brand new poster for that. I love the first season. I cannot wait for the second season.
01:04:10
Speaker
um And rumors of casting. ah We got ah Peter Calf Calfrey who was Duncan the Tall in Duncan Egg. um Rumored to be playing Beast.
01:04:25
Speaker
And ah Odessa Ozion, who was in... don't know. What's she from? Marty Supreme. She's been a bunch of stuff. Oh, okay. She was a love interest in Marty Supreme. Rumored to be playing Rogue.
01:04:38
Speaker
I saw this came up this week on on Twitter. I'll keep an eye on that. um we We don't have the notes ready, but we're going to be talking about the Ultimate, the the Absolute Universe in DC. ah This was released a couple weeks ago, the new Justice League with all the characters. We'll talk about it. um Absolute Green Arrow comes out next month.
01:05:00
Speaker
Okay. And so after that releases, I'll talk about it because that's the one that I'm most looking forward to. Okay. Outside, Batman's the best by far, and then there's that. right we'll We'll talk about this whole the whole group of characters. um and this I don't know why this keeps coming up, because finally in news, Deadline Hollywood Reporter, everybody is reporting that Maxima...
01:05:26
Speaker
the warrior queen from the planet Almarac in the DC universe is being cast for mana tomorrow. Everybody's even, even after James Gunn debunked this was James Gunn did debunk this story. Um, I don't have any of their pictures here, but Adria Adjano, um, Ella Pernell, uh, Marissa Bella, um, and the girl from, um, the girl from, uh,
01:05:52
Speaker
Alien Earth, the girl from Fallout, all all yeah reportedly are all all reportedly have tested for this role. But James Gunn debunked the whole entire thing. um And even he even on went went on to say the deadline of reporting is shoddy and incorrect. so and But it kept coming up later in the day. And like two days later, there's still people picking up the story even after he said that. So I don't know what's going on here. Maybe they tested or maybe he's trying. he doesn't He's not known to lie.
01:06:18
Speaker
Especially being as part of this DC universe, he's not known to to distance himself from rumors or anything like that. So I don't know. I don't know what to think. They must have tested for something. The thing is, he does like half-truths. So like he he debunked like two of them and then another report came out that what's his name that we both think should be Wonder Woman is actually testing for it. um yeah So he debunks stuff, but like he'll debunk that report.
01:06:43
Speaker
But then if one of those, let's say the girl that was in the other report gets the job, then people say that he's lying again. Right. um So it's one of those, he's kind of in a no-win situation, especially with the way fucking Twitter and every other social media platform works these days. Yeah. So...
