Batman v Superman Anniversary and Reactions

00:01:26
Speaker
what's happening? How's it going? Nah, pretty good. Pretty good. Um, it's been 10 years since the release of BVS. So that's the anniversary. So I have gone out to try to disappoint as many people as possible.
00:01:42
Speaker
Right. Yeah, that was um but it was a time. That was a time, for sure. we were very hyped on what Snyder had done with Man of Steel. Going into the theater, watching that movie was a little questionable at the time.
00:01:56
Speaker
With the whole Martha of it all. um And then, a couple years later, the Justice League movie came out and made that even worse. Yeah. Or I should say the Justice League. And then was kind of after during COVID, we got a little bit of redemption with the Snyder Cut.
00:02:14
Speaker
Word all ended. So that whole entire arc there started 10 years ago. We've talked about it a lot on this show, so we're going get into it now. But yeah, um we're

Culver's Taste Test and Fast Food Comparisons

00:02:25
Speaker
going to start the show. Kevin's still in Florida and he has a taste test, a live taste test to do on the podcast for fat fucks.
00:02:45
Speaker
Kevin went to Culver's, which I know is Wisconsin-based, but um their cheese curds are big. ah Their Butter Burgers are what you got. You got their burger. Try it.
00:02:56
Speaker
All right. Well, I guess I'll try the meat first. Pause.
00:03:05
Speaker
Still going on after 20 years. Pause. It's actually pretty good. Hey!
00:03:16
Speaker
It's got the cheddar on there or American?
00:03:20
Speaker
American. Okay. Bacon, pickles, and onion. Gotcha, I gotcha. It's ah red onion. Yeah.
00:03:32
Speaker
I'd say... On the fast food scale, don't know, what's the best fast food burger? Probably five guys? if i you ready that's not That's not fast food. Anything with a drive-thru that you can get quick would be fast food. Five guys. or Five guys. No, no. They have fast guys with drive-thrus, just not ours.
00:03:51
Speaker
um Yeah, nothing around here. don't guess I'd... I'd probably say that would be the best. This is probably like a solid. Way better than McDonald's, which I'd probably give a five. Okay, I'll use that as the baseline. If give McDonald's a five.
00:04:04
Speaker
Okay. This is all 6.8. Okay. okay You see? Burger itself is way better than McDonald's. What'd you give It's not gray. What'd you give a Whopper?
00:04:16
Speaker
I fucking hate Burger King. That'd be like right? haven't had Burger King... I haven't had Burger King since fucking, I don't even know, 2008. It's that fake smoke and the fake... It's the fake smoke flavor. all fake, yeah, yeah.
00:04:29
Speaker
But this is ah not bad. If you see your Culver's, give it a try. It's no Bojangles, but you know. Bojangles. Yeah, I want to try that place too. were going a yeah part Yeah, I know Culver's got popular virally up here. They had a cheese curd burger.
00:04:48
Speaker
They this giant cheese curd they they put on the burger, like a like a fried cheese curd pan. Yeah, they have like three or four different like burgers, yeah and then you can build your own, so I don't even, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But ah that was the bacon one. I just got it without the lessened tomato because I don't like lessened tomato on my burger.
00:05:04
Speaker
Nice. any yeah Any new food travels in the last since the last episode? Last week and a half? Not really. We've gone to a couple places, but his daughter's been here here since Sunday. We don't really go out. We're going to go out to dinner tonight, though.
00:05:18
Speaker
Oh, cool. Nice.

TV Series Reviews: Shrinking and Paradise

00:05:20
Speaker
Yeah. So, I'm going to Beefo Brady's. Beefo Brady's is okay. I went there a few times. I love Beefo Brady's. I wasn't a fan of their wings. Their wings are so good.
00:05:31
Speaker
I wasn't a fan of their wings. um You weren't? Their wings are their fucking greatest. Yeah, I thought they were very plain the last time I went them. 2005. Yeah. Yeah. and i love I think they have the best wings around. They're really good.
00:05:45
Speaker
Oh, nice. ah Yeah, cool. So you're coming back a couple weeks or so? Coming back to the Arctic. It won't be Arctic when you get back, thank God. but Probably will be. Well, at least until...
00:05:57
Speaker
Beginning of May, you would think. Jumping right into the show, what we watched. A few things going to bring up. First thing is shrinking. um pen Penultimate episode was yesterday. Show is very good. Or actually today. i haven't watched it yet.
00:06:11
Speaker
she Show is very good. um Finale is next week. We'll talk about it probably next episode. i don't know when recording next. But finale is next week. We'll talk all about that. Last few episodes, the arc has been pretty good. So... We'll get into all of that next week.
00:06:26
Speaker
ah Paradise also had a penultimate episode this week. Paradise is hitting its stride for the second season. I wasn't sure how it would do. um It's doing fantastic and it's right on par with the first season. lot of lot of new mysteries being brought in weekly.
00:06:44
Speaker
um Not necessarily surprising, um but you you are seeing more of the outside world coming into the dome and all that and It all leads up to next week where all the storylines kind of collide that have been told this season. And Starling K. Brown's character is going to be coming back to the Dome with his... Well, I don't get into any spoilers, but... um Yeah, very good show on Hulu. Season finale is on Tuesday next week. so And it's picked up for a season three. That was announced this week as well. So, cannot wait.
00:07:19
Speaker
um Couple of reactions for new shows. One is called Rooster. This is done by the creator of Ted Lasso shrinking Bill Lawrence starring Steve Carell on HBO.
00:07:32
Speaker
ah Three episodes out currently. um It has Jamie Tartt from Ted Lasso. ah He's not in Ted Lasso ah season is four. He's doing this. Hey, quiet.
00:07:43
Speaker
Bella. And... he him, Steve Carell, the guy from Office Space, one of the guys that sits at the desk and interrogates the camera. um He's in that.
00:07:57
Speaker
he's in One the bobs. Yeah, he's in Scrubs too. But ah yeah, that guy decent show, half hour sitcom on HBO. So yeah, it's ah what you'd expect from Bill Lawrence show, a little bit more language.
00:08:11
Speaker
Not necessarily nudity because it's HBO, but yeah, good show, decent show. Uh, probably F, if you're gonna put it up against, shrinking and Ted Lasso, probably number three. But, uh, if you just want something mindless comedy, you can go ahead

New Movies and Documentaries Discussed

00:08:24
Speaker
watch that. And DTF St. Louis. This is a limited series.
00:08:29
Speaker
Uh, it is on the, I believe fourth or fifth episode. I haven't watched this week's episode yet, but I have watched the ones before it's very good. Um, it's kind of a, uh, it's kind of like a murder mystery slash, um, um,
00:08:44
Speaker
sex, uh, cheating, scandal. Um, it's very good though. Um, and it's only going to be one season, limited series. Um, it stars Jason Bateman, um, Linda Cardellini and David Harbour.
00:08:59
Speaker
Um, and I don't want to get into too many spoilers cause there's a couple of things happened in the first episode that, set off the whole series but DTF St. Louis is basically an app um and there's a lot of cheating and and cheating involved with that app and the mystery the mysteries of that happening and somebody dies and um the the detectives have to come in and figure out who killed him and um was it one of his friends was his ex-wife was it an ex-lover And there's a lot of cool um turns in that show. So these are both on HBO now.
00:09:30
Speaker
Both come out on Sunday nights. DTF St. Louis about halfway through. Rooster just started. So if you want to get into these shows, I'm not going to bring them up every week, but I did want to give my reaction to how they were.
00:09:40
Speaker
um Did you have a chance to watch Born Again last night? Yeah. Daredevil born again, season two premiere. Great poster in the middle character posters on the right and the left of, uh, Wilson Fisk and, uh, Matt Murdoch, uh, Daredevil. Season 2, starting off on a slow pace, coming out one episode a week. I think next week we're getting two episodes after that, one episode a week up until May 5th.
00:10:07
Speaker
And it was announced that on May 12th, which is supposed to be the day of the finale, The Punisher one-shot's coming out. the special presentation, and they named it The Punisher One Last Kill, and that's the poster for it right there.
00:10:22
Speaker
Setting up, of course, the next Spider-Man movie, and it's going to kind of set as a sequel slash finale of Daredevil, because we know that's going to be kind continuation of what happened to him in the first season when he was kidnapped by arrested by Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, and he escapes at the end of that. That's going to be a continuation of that. Setting how he meets up with Peter Parker um in Spider-Man Brand New Day. So we'll talk all about that in a few minutes and and in in in form. But yeah, episodes started off good. Series, season two started off good. Like I mentioned, a little slow, but yeah, from what I hear, season picks up pretty quickly come season, episode three on. So all the episodes were released to the press, by the way, so they didn't really want to care about surprises or anything like that.
00:11:15
Speaker
ah Yeah, cannot wait. That comes out every Wednesday, to thursday Tuesday night. And that's on Disney Plus if you want to watch that.
00:11:26
Speaker
Watch the miniseries. The dinosaurs. Watch the whole thing. Steven Spielberg produced it, Amelon Entertainment, so you already know the pedigree of Jurassic Park and all the ah effects on that movie series.
00:11:39
Speaker
So you already got a good pedigree going into this, and it was done well. Four episodes. Started off with the very first of how dinosaurs were created. The very first ones from like 250 million ah million billion years ago.
00:11:54
Speaker
Talks all about that and the evolution going up to 65 billion years, which which of course is when they collapse and the asteroid comes down. They go into heavy detail. This is narrated by Morgan Freeman. um And then the CGI, the CG looks great. You meet new dinosaurs, familiar dinosaurs. So if you're into all of that, you're going to love this. If you're into those kind of nature documentaries where they take actual animals, but this time they take the dinosaurs narrated by Morgan Freeman, who is a perfect narrator. You'll love this. um on
00:12:26
Speaker
It's on Netflix right now, all four episodes. So if you want to watch that, go ahead. Very good, though. Very, very good. um Two other documentaries. i don't know if we've had a chance to see any either one of these. Not the Nickelback one. That's for damn sure. Nickelback one is fantastic.
00:12:42
Speaker
Nickelback one is all about how everybody hates Nickelback. and And the whole viral thing happened probably 15, 20 years ago after their success where it was kind of a joke to hate on Nickelback.
00:12:55
Speaker
They were the brunt of the joke of rock and roll at the time because they were just overplayed. That whole 2001, 2002 during the Spider-Man soundtrack, the Hero Song, and then their first album came out like six months to a year before that. It was huge for Nickelback. We saw him live.
00:13:12
Speaker
It was huge for Nickelback. And they were overplayed on the radio and MTV and everywhere to the point where everybody's like, oh, God, this is fucking gross. This is this is bad. And they once once social media picked up and and everything, they became the brunt of the social media meme, the jokes of Nickelback being awful.
00:13:33
Speaker
And people are just defending it. I'm defending it now. I like Nickelback. That first album is great. And some of the new stuff is great, too. But they become like the joke of rock and roll. And this documentary dives into that in the history of the band, how they came up and how they deal with that and and how they deal with that being media and being in the media and in social media as the as the joke. And they're like, well, I don't understand it. And Chad Kroger, the lead singer, talks about how um he kind of jokes it off. But in reality, deep down inside, it does hurt. which obviously, i mean, if you put your heart and soul into into doing music and you're kind of being told that it's fake and commercial and like a robotic way of making music, and it it kind of can be hurtful for a creator, so understandably. But yeah, very good documentary. This is on Netflix. It just came out in 2023. Just came out on Netflix. This was in movie theaters up until up until a couple years ago. It just came out on Netflix. it's ah It's like an hour and a half. Worth watching. Very good. The other documentary um is one you did watch, the Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary. yeah The Rise of the Red Hot chi Chili Peppers, Our Brother Halil.
00:14:49
Speaker
Did you know that they're my favorite band of all time? Yeah, i knew I knew that you liked them. It's like them, Metallica, Sublime, Deftones... I probably forget one, but yeah, they're like one of my favorite bands of all time. I love the Red Hunts, Lily Peppers. And like there was nothing new in this documentary that I didn't know, but it was very well done. I loved it.
00:15:11
Speaker
ah Yeah, it was basically just the introduction of them in the 80s and how they how they got a record label, but it was all about the lead singer. i mean, not the lead singer, the guitarist. In the band who passed away in the late 80s and how he passed away before their huge success, their worldwide success. I mean, he was only on one album, which crazy. Out the three that they recorded when he was alive, he was only on one album because he had another band the time. And he was strung out on drugs pretty bad. I mean, they all were, except for Fleet.
00:15:45
Speaker
Yeah, they all were. Fleet? Yeah. Yeah, during their hiatus. He probably was too, but he didn't go to rehab. I don't think he ever went to rehab for that. I know he did a lot of cocaine, though. During their hiatus, we would have never got Flea and Back to the Future 2 and 3. That's true. They took a hiatus before they did their Blood, Sex, sex Sugar, Magic, whatever that album was called. so That was a big album. well they did The hiatus was before Mother's Milk in 89. And then they came out Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic in 91.
00:16:12
Speaker
yeah Which was the big album. That one's the hat Under the Bridge. and yeah It's just it huge. but He never saw the success. This is all about the guitarist who passed away, Halil. And...
00:16:24
Speaker
It's very good. Very good documentary if you want to know the beginnings of the band. Didn't get into much of the of the newer stuff after they got their success because it's all pretty much all about him. um The band's not happy about this documentary. They thought they were tricked by the director.
00:16:39
Speaker
um They thought that it was going to be more about Halil, but it ended up being more about the band, I believe. um and yeah and They weren't too happy about that. They did talk about him. All they did was talk about Halil for the most part.
00:16:52
Speaker
and i thought it was very good. yeah Yeah, I thought it was good, too. It's on it it's on Netflix as well. It just came out last weekend. Very good. Very well done. All the, i like you mentioned, Anthony Kiedis and Fleer are part of the part of it. And I can't remember the guy's name. The guitarist now. And their, for Shanty. ah Shanty. And their drummer left.
00:17:14
Speaker
I don't think he was a founding member of Pearl Jam, but he left and went to Pearl Jam. Yeah, yeah. Which is kind of insane that he started the Red Hot Chili Peppers and then Sudo started Pearl Jam when they got famous.
00:17:26
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. um Yeah, great documentary. Both of those on Netflix, the Nickelback documentary and the Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary. Both good. Watched a movie. I'm sure you haven't had time to see it yet. um Good luck. Have fun. Don't die. Give my reaction to it.
00:17:43
Speaker
Time Travel Fuckery. We're going to review another time travel movie next episode with Vince Vaughn. Talked about it. Nick and Mike and Nick and something. James Marsden, Vince Vaughn in that. Review of that next episode. But this movie, for what it is, time travel fuckery, you got to take yourself out of a lot of ah scientific knowledge. um It's very good. And I love Sam Rockwell.
00:18:10
Speaker
i or sam yeah He's very good in this. um And it you're always you're always kind of thinking, because it it has a lot to do about AI, and this guy gets...
00:18:21
Speaker
goes back in time to try to stop AI, which we all, which from some of our favorite movies, the Terminator, we know can be a bad, could could bring a bad future. And that's what he's doing. He's trying to save his future. um And as a, it has a pretty huge cast. It has Michael Pena. It has, it has a few familiar faces faces that you've seen in modern time. And it's a, it's a very, very good. I would say probably a four out of five, um ending leaves it wide open to maybe a s sequel or continuation lot of this reminded me of the matrix too like is this reality is this real is ai fucking with things um yeah four out of five though worth watching good luck have fun don't die he built his own time machine into a coat and uh goes travels back in time into this diner in the very beginning which is all in the trailer And he tries to recruit a group of people to save the future.

Critiques and Praise for Recent Films

00:19:18
Speaker
And he only has like 12 hours to do it. So it's very good.
00:19:21
Speaker
The other thing we're going to revisit because you reviewed it a couple episodes ago. But Scream 7, I finally watched it. um Oh, what a bad movie. This is my my least favorite of the series. And 3 is pretty bad. um I saw that in the theater. i and I've been sitting on this for about a week now. um This movie is pretty terrible. um The first part of this movie, you kept a lot of the facts out. This is this is basically an AI movie, another AI related connected movie. um And the beginning of this, an Airbnb is set up in the house that the murders took place in, in in Scream 1. And that's where the first killings happen, and then the house gets burned down by somebody dressed up as the Scream killer, Ghostface. Joel McHale, awful casting for this series. Probably the worst casting since the the the killer in in Scream 3.
00:20:22
Speaker
Um, Stu is a part of this. I asked you the lot when you reviewed it. Um, kind of. He's AI. And that's how the AI is brought in at the very end. Spoiler. Um, all of the killers from the past movies are brought in and through AI trying to terrorize Sidney. As she's running through ah a house. And it's on screen. And there's somebody with a video recording. With their face being swapped. um Through all through a list of killers. from from
00:20:52
Speaker
From the past movies. um ai Awful. Awful use of AI. and how And everything about AI in this movie. Is awful.
00:21:05
Speaker
Sydney has a safe room. Yeah, not good. well you see With easy access crawl spaces through the walls of the house, so it's not really that safe if you can access it through other parts of the house. um Gale kills the first ghost face who ends up being a fake ghost face. She drives by and runs him over.
00:21:27
Speaker
um One of the best kills of this movie was the beer spout. The guy from The Boys, the kid from The Boys, who is the mentally unstable, super-powered kid.
00:21:38
Speaker
Gen V, right? Oh, Gen V. Yeah, Gen V. He gets put up into a beer spout, and the beer spout goes through his neck, up into his mouth, and then Ghostface pushes the beer spout so the beer comes out of his mouth.
00:21:51
Speaker
Pretty great for a kill, I will say that. um But the deep fake bullshit at the end was took me out of this movie completely. And who the killers are was just bullshit to begin with. Bullshit killers. That was just dumb.
00:22:05
Speaker
um Oh, he's too much like his father. Yeah, it didn't make Fucking terrible. I'm going to give it a grimace. I'm going to give it a half a star. I haven't done that in a while. Half a half a pineapple.
00:22:17
Speaker
um These movies, if you like them, you like them. And this is pretty much up there with a lot of them. But worse. And that is something to say. Because a lot of these are two ones lower. Except for the first one. First one is a fucking classic. First one you can go back and watch now. and And still enjoy it. And the second one you say. i don't agree with you that much on that one. But it's it's still good as as far as you say. Three on. Not a big fan. The newer ones are okay. the written When they rebooted it a couple of years a few years ago. But...
00:22:51
Speaker
Not a fan of this franchise, really, except for the first movie. I will say that. um Yeah. um I watched a movie. Went to the theater last week. Big movie of the week. i'm Not going to get into any particulars.
00:23:04
Speaker
Going to give my reaction to it. But Project Hail Mary. um This movie was made for the big screen. was made for IMAX. And you could tell in the theater that was definitely the case. And it'll look good at home, but it was visually stunning.
00:23:21
Speaker
Story is amazing. Movie is amazing. um Everybody knows it's about Rocky, this alien that he meets up in space. The Earth is dying. They set up this project, Hail Mary, where they send this astronaut who is Brian Gosling, who's not really an astronaut, and he's a science teacher, up into space to try to save the sun um and try to find out why the sun is dying. ah He ends up meeting another alien named Rocky, all in the trailers. For some reason, they gave this all away in the trailer where they shouldn't. um Ends up meeting Rocky, names him after Rocky Balboa, which is a great joke throughout the whole entire movie. Their relationship is one of the best movie relationships I've seen in a while, their friendship.
00:24:00
Speaker
um And it definitely, by the end of this movie, it's very like an emotional roller coaster. Very, very good. Four and a half out of five. Multiple viewings could bring this up to a five. But I'm to stick with a four and a half out of five.
00:24:15
Speaker
um little bit slow and they're A little bit slow in the beginning. And the story is linear, but there's a lot of um flashbacks that tell you how the story began.
00:24:26
Speaker
Going back to how he was recruited. and how he gets up into space in the first place, and how he ends up working for the program to go up into space. Very, very good, and I cannot wait for you to watch it, so maybe we can come back and revisit this movie, because it's it's fucking phenomenal. Ended up making $33 million dollars on the first day. Biggest opening domestic day for any non-franchise film. um And it won the box office last week with $80.5 million. dollars So it did gangbusters. Word of mouth, because it just got...
00:24:59
Speaker
great reviews last week. Word of mouth made it go ah up high, um higher than projected. And I think worldwide is like 135, something like that. Projected to do another great weekend this weekend. Next week, Super Mario opens. Probably going to be number one there, so let's take it'll dethrone it. But a great movie. Worth seeing in the theater if you can if you can get out to see it. And then for you, I was i asked you if you had an IMAX in Florida, and you don't. But it would have been great to see it if you were if you had one close by. But yeah, very, very good. Very good movie. Worth seeing in the theater if you can. um With that being said, speaking of theatrical experiences, let's get into the news.
00:25:46
Speaker
And it's not a news time, let's try a roundup.
00:25:51
Speaker
We were treated last week with the trailer for Spider-Man Brand New Day. And wow, wee wow, wee wow, wee wow, wee wow. I love this trailer.
00:26:03
Speaker
It got me so hyped for this movie, more so than I was beforehand. um And it was just because of the visuals. And we got the story of what this movie is going to be all about. and Let's get into it.
00:26:14
Speaker
First of all, Destin told Kevin Feige that if he made this movie, he wanted to bring comic book covers to life. That was his one goal. he had a whole bunch of he had I think Kevin Feige said he had a whole bunch of covers on a desk. He said, these covers are what I'm going to visually... bring to life in the movie. And this is the first one. Amazing fantasy 15, the debut of Spider-Man.
00:26:35
Speaker
Um, he brought it to life almost shot for shot for what the cover is. Um, and that's not the only one he did it again with a boomerang and he did it again with the tarantula, two quick scenes. I'm guessing if, if I were to guess how this movie is going to be set up, this movie set for after four years after the last Spider-Man movie, And those four years, in order to do that fast track, fast forward, um we're going to be seeing a montage in the beginning of the film of him and what he's done in the last four years, fighting villains like this, quick shots of comic book covers like this. And I can see other villains being brought into the fold as well.
00:27:15
Speaker
But yeah, it's just I love the visuals so far. What I've seen in this two minute trailer. We also see the first glimpse of Michael Mando from Breaking Bad. of course, he's in Homecoming as Max Jargon, a.k.a. the Scorpion.
00:27:29
Speaker
Suit looks awesome. He looks awesome. I have so much more appreciation from him now after watching Breaking Bad. glad I did that watch just for this alone. He looks awesome.
00:27:40
Speaker
Yeah, he wasn't... so when did When did the homecoming come out? Was he in Saul at that point? that might Yeah, 16. 17, 18? 17, 18? Around there. So yeah, he was like yeah right them half Halfway through Saul, yeah. um Also, Spider-Man is given a key to the city, but not from Mayor Fisk, from the woman that's in a Brand New Day. She plays like an assistant to Kingpin. But ah is this a spoiler for Brand New Day? Is Kingpin not in the picture anymore?
00:28:11
Speaker
No idea, but a lot of people are speculating that maybe this is a spoiler for second season. We'll have to wait and see. He he yeah lives across the hall from Ned. I don't think Sony is letting him into this universe. I think that's the issue is that they don't yeah they're not allowed to use him. Yeah, this is it all has to do with the rules of of who owns Kingpin and who owns Spider-Man and Marvel and all that stuff. um Ned and MJ live in a hallway across from Peter.
00:28:38
Speaker
um me MJ's got a new boyfriend who's the Ezra from Star Wars. He's in live-action Ezra. um and he plays the boyfriend of mj um and uh spider-man of course nobody knows he's spider-man nobody knows prea parker anymore so he's kind of looking on all sad and gloomy like oh i had to give all this up to be a superhero but i had to save everybody in my life so um And we see the first glimpse of Jon Bernthal as Punisher going up one-on-one against Spider-Man. And Spider-Man webs his gun as he shoots him. Great scene. um And we get a confirmation, it has been rumored for a while, that we're going to see the hand. Ninja fighting. And right straight out of the comic books, we got Spider-Man going one-on-one to hand in a jail, outside of the jail. We'll get into that picture on the bottom right in a minute, but some more pictures of a Spider-Man in the comics going after the hand looks great. But picture on the right there,
00:29:36
Speaker
if you remember when the second trailer to spider-man no way home came out um there were spider the spider-man were deleted from the trailer but people always speculated because the way that spider-man was jumping against sandman and and and electro and the lizard especially once lizard's face went like this and got hit um somebody was taken out of there and sure enough when we saw the movie we found out that sp the two other spider-man were in there and vi digitally taken out people are speculating in the picture on the top right that somebody was visually taken out of that scene as well with spider-man jumping up in the air to face the hand um speculation gone wild could it be daredevil
00:30:20
Speaker
Could it be another hero? Could it be... Who knows? um But yeah, we don't really know the full glimpse of what this movie... I saw this art. I thought it was really cool. Daredevil, Punisher, and Spider-Man. Would be cool to see that play out. Not sure if that will or not, but that'd be cool. And we meet the mysterious character played by Sadie Sink. Of course, Max from Stranger Things. um She's being kept in captivity by Damage Control, um who is led by Simmel Trillman, who is in...
00:30:50
Speaker
Severance, great in that show, playing the lead of the damage control. And we see Sadie Sink's powers kind of come to life. And she's mind control manipulation. Speculation has been for a while.
00:31:04
Speaker
Is she Jean Grey? Is she Typhoid Mary? Typhoid Typhoo Mary? Typhoid Mary. Which is a Daredevil villain. um With my control power. I don't know.
00:31:16
Speaker
Some sort of a mutant or something. I don't know if this is the intro to mutants in the MCU. I don't know if this is the route they wanted to go. But yeah. Good to see that. Didn't see her face. I did see this online. I'm not sure if it's official or not or whatever marketing. But this is kind of what she's going to look like in the movie. um And we found out, of course, we knew that Bruce Banner was part of this. um He has a professor at ah at a college, and when Peter's going through this transformation, we'll get into all that in a minute because it's fucking exciting. ah Peter's going through a transformation, he tries to run into the Hulk, who I don't know if he's ever had any actual interactions with, um Besides what happens after Endgame, which was never seen on screen, and of course the Endgame fight, he was one-on-one trying to save the gauntlet from halt with the Hulk. But I don't know what what Peter remembers, what his interactions were with Bruce Banner beforehand, but he tries to confront him and he's he's doing a lecture and asking him to help because he's going through changes. He wakes up in the middle of the night or in the morning and he's created a cocoon outside of his apartment, hanging upside down. So he's going through almost almost a metamorphosis of a spider-like powers. This all happened... I'm going to say the animated series, but the animated series is so much like the comic books of the 70s and 80s. That was almost like the first screen to comic adaptation, where a lot of that stuff was very visually like what was in the comic books of the of the past.
00:32:57
Speaker
um That's why a lot of people look at that being... so highly regarded including myself because it looked like older comic books um and a lot of those arcs are right out of the comic books too including this one where spider-man goes through a metamorphosis becomes man spider um goes through almost a mutation and and we'll get into all that in a minute but um being dormant during dr strange spell the one question i have like of this the hulk has not been around since endgame Um, is the Hulk, does he remember Peter Parker? Does he remember Spider-Man?
00:33:32
Speaker
The Hulk himself. Is that ah going to be a part of this story? Because obviously Bruce Banner is not going to remember him. He was there when the spell was done. um will the Hulk remember? Well, if the Hulk comes out, which we kind of know he's going to, um, will that play a part of the story? Um, who knows? Um, but yeah, here's the couple of comic book arcs. Uh, this is all kind of related to as well called the other, Um, where he's shows up in a cocoon and everything, and there's webs everywhere. And he also gets the organic webbing, um, which has been a part of the Spider-Man movies for a while. That was kind of introduced in that by Sam Raimi and the comic books dived into that later on. um And there's a voiceover in this as well. um
00:34:15
Speaker
Everybody's not official. Everybody thinks it sounds like Keith David, who has been in a lot of stuff. um And it's a scientist talking about metamorphosis of spiders and mutations and this and that. um The first thing I thought of when I heard is like, fuck, that's that's the lizard.
00:34:32
Speaker
But the rumors are that the villain of this movie is the Jackal, which who also could be... He's he's a scientist. um he knows all about mutations and stuff like that um and that also could be the voiceover that could be the character he's playing no official he hasn't been officially announced his casting for anything he would be great as the lizard he would be great as a jackal he's just great to be in this movie um my favorite scene this has nothing to do with spider-man my favorite favorite scene of any movie with him he's been in a lot
00:35:03
Speaker
My favorite scene with any movie with him is the scene when he's in something about Mary in the beginning and and Ben Stiller's balls get stuck in the zipper. The Franks and the beans, the beans and the Franks. That's great. um Nothing to do about this movie, but I love that. um But is this secretly a Sinister Six movie? Not sure about that. There's a lot of villains in it.
00:35:24
Speaker
Could be. ah Mixed in in the origin of the mutants. I think we're going to get an origin of the mutants. A proper origin. um As Peter deals with his own mutations. Season 2 of the animated series tackled that. Episodes 4 through 8 where he becomes the man spider. He grows the six arms. Ends up actually turning into a spider. And part of that story arc is Michael Morbius.
00:35:46
Speaker
Is Morbius part of this movie? I don't know. oh But Morbius is the one that helps him kind of create a create a serum to help him and actually ends up turning him into a man spider. It enhances the power and turns him into this giant spider creature. Um, the Punisher is part of that storyline. We're getting him.
00:36:10
Speaker
The Lizard's part of that storyline. The Jackal. Um, the X-Men in the animated series, uh, Peter Parker goes to the X-Men and asks them, because he knows he's mutating, he's asking them because he knows all about mutants and stuff. They know of all about mutants. Asks them to help him. Um, and and, and they kind of do, they, they, they look him over kind of like, um, Bruce Banner does in the trailer, look him over to try to figure out what the mutation is. And, and, and they realize that it's exponentially growing inside of him. Um, man spider, is that going to be a thing? A lot of people are speculating that not sure if he's going to turn into a giant spider at the end. There is one scene. where his eyes turn all black, is that him transforming?
00:36:48
Speaker
Who knows? Kraven, part of this story as well, he's kind of the one that ends the story arc, because his wife is in America, she's a scientist, doing the experiments, I'm not sure if we're going to see Kraven, Wilson Fisk, also, not sure if we'll see that big part of this story arc in the comics, but 90s animated comparisons, like I mentioned, comic to screen adaptation, Destin kind of set a similar tone to that um with all with all all the visuals we've seen so far.
00:37:21
Speaker
No sign of Tombstone, Marvin Jones III. No sign of Lisa Collins-Zazaz, who was in Bear. No sign of her character. Speculation run wild on who that could be. But yeah, Triller did Gangbusters that week. came out.
00:37:38
Speaker
718 million views in 24 hours. ah Broke the record, which was previously Deadpool and Wolverine, almost by double. It had 375 million a couple years ago. um And it hit 1 billion views um just a couple of days ago. Biggest movie in movie history.
00:37:55
Speaker
um And it also beat GTA record. Biggest of anything in history. Biggest trailer of anything. GTA 6 trailer had a 24-hour record of 475 million views. So huge, huge for them, huge for comic book movies. um Kind of gives you hope that maybe comic book movies aren't dead, as people were kind of speculating over the last couple of years.
00:38:17
Speaker
um gives And this isn't even isn't even the one of the biggest trailers of the year.

Anticipation for Upcoming Film Releases

00:38:23
Speaker
We got another one couple days or a day before. We got Dune 3, the finale. yep It was announced as the final movie, the conclusion of the story. These are all the character posters. From that we see the first look at Robert Pattinson and all the characters returning. We see a Jason Momoa returning. um And what's her name? i can't remember her name. That's going to be playing sister but um Looked great. Stunning visually. Set 17 years after the second film. And they're going to be really re tackling the Messiah storyline. um And Jason Momoa, we got some first looks of what he's going look like. And Robin Pattinson with the blonde M&M hairstyle.
00:39:04
Speaker
um not Getting on his slim shady look. so yeah He looks like he's about to ask for a trial of the seventh. He does. He looks like a Targaryen. So yeah, looked great. um And I cannot wait to see this movie. The day that Dune's Day comes out is the day that Dune comes out. So we got Dune's Day. Going to be seeing both that day. So looking forward to that. Six hours in the movie theater. um Yeah. um Also, the other thing about this was Jumanji was supposed to come out the week before.
00:39:37
Speaker
And they're like, that movie is going to get buried if it stays the date because of Doomsday. And they decided to move it up the week after the on Christmas, the week after Doom and Doomsday comes out. So it's going to stay away for at least a week. um But Jumanji, those movies are pretty big, too. So itll it'll probably get a good, decent number on Christmas Day. After Doom and Doomsday. And and Avengers and isn't in IMAX. Dune is. So, yeah. It'll be a big, huge... Probably the biggest... I'm going say it now. Probably the biggest Christmas box office ever. um Between Dune, Avengers, and Jumanji. For sure. So, yeah.
00:40:17
Speaker
A couple more trailers talk about before we get into news. Busboys. This is Theo Vaughn. David Spade. It looks funny, but you gotta love that comedy. it comes out April 17th.
00:40:29
Speaker
um Theo Vaughn is very, very strange. Funny, but strange. He says some weird shit. um But yeah, it looked good. Outcome. This is a film done by Jonah Hill. He directed it. Stars in it. Keanu Reeves stars in it. Cameron Diaz. Matt Boomer.
00:40:45
Speaker
Laverne Cox, martinton Martin Scorsese is in this, Drew Barrymore, a lot of guest stars, David Spade, um, comes out on Apple TV on, um, April 10th, um, uh, Jonah Hill looks weird in it, he's got blonde hair, um, dyed black beard, uh, looks very strange, but, um, wasn't big into Rebels or or Clone Wars, hadn't really continued with that stuff with Star Wars, but, um, This Maul Shadow Lord show looks fantastic. We got the first trailer for that first poster as well. Comes out April 6th, just next week.
00:41:19
Speaker
um And looks for like a continuation of Darth Maul in the, when the Empire has, has taken over and did Order 66. It's kind of set up after that. And his, and his, i don't know if it's even hatred for the Empire, but questioning the Empire. after being such a high part of it in the beginning of the prequel trilogy. So, um yeah, I don't know much more other than him having a fight with Obi-Wan at one point, and I don't know much more of his story after a Phantom Menace, but it's a continuation of that.
00:41:52
Speaker
um A movie, ah a prime original, coming out April 15th. This movie looked weird. called balls up starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser, um, where they try to have a condom deal in, uh, in the try. It's already, it looks fucking weird. Um, yeah, it looks, it's, it looks dumb, dumb comedy. Mark Wahlberg. I, I don't know what you're doing, but yeah.
00:42:20
Speaker
Speaking of dumb-looking, we got the live-action Moana. I'm losing my voice. Hold on. The live-action version of Moana with The Rock reprising his role with a wig, which looks god-awful.
00:42:34
Speaker
um And the CGI, it looks almost like a shot-for-shot of the original animated. um Directed by the guy who was the musical director of Hamilton, created that with Lin-Manuel. Lin-Manuel did all the music for the original Moana. That was the first thing he did for Disney after Hamilton.
00:42:52
Speaker
But it looks it looks pretty bad. Just the CGI of The Rock. Or the CGI in general and then The Rock's hair. It it doesn't help.
00:43:03
Speaker
But yeah. um And it came out today the trailer for Harry Potter. um the The HBO... Reboot of the series, it looks very similar to the movies, of course. um when We got some first looks, about two-minute trailer, we got some first looks of old old characters coming back, of course, the Harry, Ron, and Hermione, got the kids there on Hogwarts Express.
00:43:28
Speaker
We got John Lithgow as Dumbledore. We got Nick Frost as Hagrid. And I don't know what her name is as McGonagall, but that's the first looks of them right there.
00:43:39
Speaker
Trailer just came out an hour ago. don't know what we're talking about now. But it looks it looks good. and look If you like Harry Potter, going be called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's storm stole a Stone. um They're sticking with the original title, of the British title. was called Sorcerer's Stone in America, but they're sticking with the the Philosopher's storm Stone. um Cannot wait. comes out Christmas Day of this year. for It starts then and it'll run into January and February. Cannot wait. Going the yearly real route. Good idea because those kids will roll up quickly.
00:44:10
Speaker
um yeah Cannot wait. I love Harry Potter. um And let's get into the news. um Rest in peace to Matt Clark. Yep.
00:44:23
Speaker
um Probably don't know the name, but you know him in Back to the Future. If you liked Westerns back in the day, you may recognize him from some Westerns. But most notably, he was the bartender in Back to the Future 3 who meets up with Marty as he's trying to get go back to the future. That's him in the picture there on the right. so Rest in peace to Matt Clark. Rest in peace to says Sam Keith. Sam Keith was a very popular artist from 90s.
00:44:53
Speaker
Very unique style. Very much cartoonish, um verbose art of the 90s. There's some of it right there. He created the the character The Max. Um, but, uh, if you know that character, there was a TV show based off of him. Um, it's kind of a lot. He elongates the character, makes them kind of longer, wide wider, more puffed out.
00:45:16
Speaker
Um, and he did a, he did a run with Marvel. He did Wolverine and Venom comics. He did a lot of stuff with them. He did a big Batman run. when There's a picture on the right there. Rest in peace to him. um Like I mentioned, he did the Max too. The Max was big on MTV as i had a head of series. Rest in peace to Valerie Perrine.
00:45:35
Speaker
Valerie Perrine was Miss Tessmacher, Eve Tessmacher in Superman. Just talked about her last year. Um, she's 82 years old. She died of Parkinson's. She's been bedridden for 10 years. She had a documentary come out, uh, about a decade ago, maybe a little less than that. Um, talked about her life and how she did ah she did a movie after this and she got tight cast out of Hollywood and she ended up moving like into Europe or somewhere.
00:46:00
Speaker
Um, and she lived out her life there. and at the end she had Parkinson's and she couldn't do anything else, but. Rest in peace to her. she and an ah She was also in the Lenny Bruce movie with Dustin Hoffman. She played his wife, which I've been wanting to see for a while. I may watch that sometime soon. Rest peace to Valerie Parine.
00:46:20
Speaker
But the big death of the week that everybody's talking about is Walker Texix Ranger himself.

Oscars Recap and Celebrity Tributes

00:46:26
Speaker
Karate aficionado. Internet meme aficionado Chuck Norris. Recipes to Chuck Norris.
00:46:34
Speaker
WCW alumni Chuck Norris. um I forgot about that. couple of and A couple of things to note about Chuck Norris. Of course, the memes, which have gone crazy. It was one of the first viral meme thing where everybody talks about Chuck Norris being able to survive survive over everything, including when he died. A lot of people said Chuck Norris didn't really die.
00:46:56
Speaker
um he just he i came't i don't even have any on top of my head. I can't do it. He was challenged by Bruce Lee, so he ascended to a higher plane to accept the rematch. Yeah, something like that. this there this so Some weird ones. Yeah, but there he was in one of the the Bruce Lee movies. That's where he got his start. um He fought Bruce hand-to-hand combat. um Friends with Bruce Lee up until his death. um And the biggest thing of his career was Walker, Texas Ranger. That show lasted a long time in the A lot of people watched it because it was in syndication. um And ah it was on during the time of w WWE as well. So when we were at the Attitude Era, when we were watching that, a lot of wrestlers guest starred on that show.
00:47:40
Speaker
I remember The Rock went on there, or Stone Cold went on there a lot. um I remember, I believe a lot of WCW guys went on there too. That's why he showed up on WCW Goldberg was there. um and Him and john c Sean Collett Van Damme walking out hand-in-hand with Goldberg. um Yeah, recipes of Chuck Norris. Never watched too many, I never watched any of his movies. Never watched Chuck, uh, Tex, uh,
00:48:05
Speaker
Wow. Walker, Texas Ranger. Wasn't really big into that. Wasn't really big into his career or anything. But um I'm sure you you must have seen some of his movies. He's right up there with Jean-Claude.
00:48:17
Speaker
He was in that movie Sidekicks with the kid from Ladybugs that killed himself. I think i may have seen that movie a long time ago. That might be the one movie you've seen. Because that was like a kid's, it was a kid's movie about karate. So it was like, yeah for some kids, like a little bit younger than us, like that was their version of Karate Kid growing up. um I remember that and obviously like the Bruce Lee movies.
00:48:40
Speaker
But besides that, like I never saw te ah Walker, Texas Ranger anything. so Delta Force was great back in the day. Yeah, Delta Force. A lot of people to talk about that. um Yeah. Rest in peace to Chuck Norris. ah We missed the Oscars. Those happened last weekend.
00:48:55
Speaker
Talk about it a little bit. Hosted by Conan O'Brien, I thought he did a fantastic job. This is the first one I've watched in a long time, the whole thing, from forgetting to end. Thought it was pretty good. um Miles Canton, who was in Sinners, did a great performance, a shot for shot, of the Sinners' performance in the movie. and going back and go Ended up going back and watching Sinners for the first time since the movie theater.
00:49:19
Speaker
Movie holds up. Movie is fucking fantastic. It should have won all the awards. We'll get into the winners. but We got a reunion of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. presenting an award.
00:49:31
Speaker
um We got Grogu and Kate Hudson um and Sigourney Weaver saying, late lay off him, you bitch. um And we got the Rob Reiner tribute. The one thing that I'm going to take away from this and I'm going to away here is the Rob Reiner tribute was great. It had a lot of actors from all of Rob Reiner's movies from the very beginning to the very end of Spinal Tap and everything.
00:49:56
Speaker
But the one thing that I noticed immediately that nobody really picked up on, it picked up a a little bit on social media, but standing front and center of this audience, in the audience, in this crowd, was Fred Savage. Came out of nowhere.
00:50:15
Speaker
He was canceled for... for canceling stuff back five years ago he got fired from the wonder brute wonder years reboot he was an executive producer on that got fired from that for for being for lewd conduct with women being rude a whole bunch of stuff came up not just one woman is basically basically his character in his one episode of boy meets world Yep. Very problematic. And he got canceled for some reason. The Academy is like, fuck it. Come in. You're, you're a big part of Rob Reiner's career with, with, um, princess bride come into this. And he was there front and center holding hands with the, with the cast of, uh, stand by me and the cast ah with, uh, Carrie always from a princess bride. So,
00:50:58
Speaker
I guess Hollywood forgives forgives that. I don't know. Nobody picked up on it either. I'm so i'm surprised that it didn't hit the backlash like I thought it would, but here we are a week and a half later, nobody even talked about it. but um That's kind of the standouts of what happened, but the big wins of the night, I was hoping it would happen. Amy Madigan won for Weapons. She did a fantastic job as Aunt Gladys. K-Bop Demon Hunters won for Best Animated Film. um They also won for The Golden Song for Best Original Song.
00:51:29
Speaker
uh sean penn won his fourth male actor award um and uh he didn't even show up to the oscars he was over in i believe he was in ukraine um along with him walter brennan nick jack nicholson and daniel day lewis have the most uh wins of any male performer i think um audrey hepburn has the most of as far catherine hepburn has the most of four um oh Film editing for ah for um One Battle After Another. Film editing. um Best Adaptive Screenplay. Tom Thomas a Anderson won for Best Director. the movie's great, but I think Sinners is the better movie, but that's just my opinion. um I think the other one checks all the Oscar boxes more than Sinners does. Yeah, it does. You're right. Autumn Duran-Arkpaw, first woman ever to win Best Cinematography at the Oscars. Watched Sinners again. Rightful that she won that movie because you're going to think about you got one character you got one actor playing two characters and It takes a lot a lot of technical cinematography to get that planned out, worked out, and and actually look great and in in a movie. And she did a fantastic job. she run She won that rightfully. And Michael B. Jordan won his first actor ah we first Oscar for Best Actor.
00:52:52
Speaker
Phenomenal job in that movie. Rightful. Sinners ended up winning four Academy Awards, including his his Academy Award, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score. um And Jessie Buckley, I know you watched um you've watched The Bride. She won for Hamnet. She won Best Actress. Right. I still got to see Hamnet. I really want to see it. I haven't. I haven't i haven't watched it yet either. um one battle after eock sorry One battle after another ended up winning the Best Picture Oscar of the night. um Ended up winning six total for the night. um and the very last scene of the oscars talked about him a few months ago but uh jim downey shows up in the shot for shot of one bat and one battle after another at the very end when sean penn gets killed um and he ends up killing conan in the same way in a gas chamber in and in a fake office it was funny love jim downey of course love him in all the movies they use him with adam sandler 6 wins for one battle after another 4 wins for Sinners 3 wins for Frankenstein which got a lot of technical awards 2 wins for K-pop Demon Hunter and 1 win for Avatar Hamnet F1 Sentimental Value and Weapons Warner Brothers we've been talking about a lot about Warner Brothers this year ah the studio itself had the most Academy Awards of any studio 11 Academy Awards you Sinners Weapons and one battle after another there so you got 3 of the biggest movies of the year
00:54:18
Speaker
um And as far as the best picture um of all the categories of the BAFTAs, the Actor Awards, Golden Globes... They're all over the place, but mostly the same. Jesse Buckley kind of won all of them.
00:54:32
Speaker
um Same with Sean Penn. Aunt Gladys won the Oscars and the Actor Awards. um So yeah, Sinners and One Battle After Another kind of going back and forth with that too. But ah One Battle After Another won the Backers, the Golden Globes, and the Oscars. So it's considered the box office winner of the year and and also the, or not the box office here, but the award winner of the year. So yeah.
00:54:58
Speaker
And Mario Supreme went home empty-handed. None of those none of the yeah nominations for that movie i ended up handing them an Oscar. Both of the Safdie Brothers movies did not do nearly as well as everyone thought or predicted back in yeah August.
00:55:13
Speaker
yeah um Between this and, of course, The Rock's performance in the movie about Mario. But yeah. Yeah. So yeah, was the Oscars. And we already talked about next year's Oscars and what's going to be the contenders. I've seen a lot of articles about that lately. So we'll talk about that a year from now. We'll talk about the Rouseys a year from now.
00:55:32
Speaker
Yeah.

UFC and WWE Speculations

00:55:34
Speaker
We talked about the Ronda Rousey fight with Gina Carano and the undercard was announced. Including, I know you're a big fan of MMA and there are a couple of names I know and one of them is Nate Diaz.
00:55:45
Speaker
Yeah, I can't wait for that fight. He's going to part of this. I was wondering if that would pique your interest to actually watch this. I think they're probably watching it anyway. I mean i was going to watch because it's free. it's like UFC now is free basically to watch on Paramount every Saturday of night. It's fucking amazing. Yeah.
00:55:58
Speaker
And I want to see the Nagano fight a lot, too. So, honestly, this card might be better than the one they're doing at the White House. I'm not going lie. Yeah, was going ask you. This card looks pretty good so far. was going to ask you about the White House. A lot of people are kind of saying that that card is shitty. Is that the consensus? The issue with the UFC, like Ronda brought up recently, is they don't really like to pay people.
00:56:22
Speaker
yeah um Especially now that Dana has way less control over that because of them being bought by the people that owned WWE, um, Ari gold from entourage owns it. Um, so I don't know. I think ah they had a bunch of big fights that they were trying to put on and negotiations fell through. Like before the main event was even announced, like Dana said that he was talking to John Jones up until like midnight the night before they announced the actual main event. Um, I think John asked for too much money or whatever.
00:56:52
Speaker
Uh, Yeah, that card looks pretty not so promising, but we'll see. Okay. We'll see. I'll watch it anyways. It'll be interesting to watch it on the White House lawn, even though, I mean, UFC's going to take a bath in that card anyways. That might be why they weren't willing to pay, because before they even sign any fighters to it, they're going to losing money on the house, yeah the gate, so to speak. Yeah.
00:57:15
Speaker
So that could be why they weren't paying as much for the people. And, like, they left Kobe Covington off the fucking card. And that dude's been, like, pro-MAGA since, like, 2018. Like, that's been, like, his gimmick. And later, and, like, just this week, he announced he's no longer going to discuss politics. Okay. Even though he he wears a goddamn Make America Great Again hat to the ring for every fight since 2018. But, yeah.
00:57:40
Speaker
So this card looks promising. Cool. um And that comes out on โ€“ it was blocked off there. I can't see. It doesn't say. I think it's May. May, yeah. I think so. um We talked about Tom Brady maybe going to the WWE last week or last episode. um And he was โ€“ this whole football โ€“ flag football game he had with Logan Paul last week. Did you watch any of it?
00:58:03
Speaker
Any interest in that? I watched a little bit. Yeah. It was fun to watch Tom Brady again. Yeah, I did see some highlights of throwing passes and making them and stuff. But he was asking about WWE and the wrestlers over there because talking shit about them for months now.
00:58:18
Speaker
um And he was quoted on the red carpet saying all their stuff is so cute and scripted and they know what's going on in a football game. You don't know. There's no fake BS. We, we do in American football. He's talking shit still about WWE, still setting up whatever's going to happen at WrestleMania. And also being brought into this is, is gronk. Um, Logan Paul, it was only COVID media.
00:58:40
Speaker
Yeah. Logan Paul, um, confronted him, confronted a lot of other football players, but, um, into that ah Kevin Hart had to break up a fight between Gronk and Logan Paul at the flag football press conference.
00:58:55
Speaker
I'm going to beat your ass in all your brothers' asses. so yeah they're setting up something They're setting up something for WrestleMania. Not sure what. um and Dan Housen, who you're a huge fan of now. Responded to Tom Brady calling WWE cute and scripted. It would be um it would only take one w to be superstar to curse Tim Bordy. um Number one, Dan Housen.
00:59:17
Speaker
Fucking phenomenal. I'm Steve Cold. It's me, Steve Cold. The real Steve Cold. He's great. The way they're the way that they are doing... His intro and his vignettes is similar to how they used to it. Like Mr. Perfect did like six months of vignettes before ever having a match, yeah um which I love. I love this old school approach. Of course, now you get more of it because of social media. The guy's selling t-shirts left and right because of it. Merchandise series.
00:59:43
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. So it's โ€“ I almost bought a Dan Housen t-shirt, but I was on vacation. So on my way. Yeah. But yeah, it's it's pretty awesome. The whole... The skin with the bellows fucking gets me. whoo I see what's going on here. Clones! oh That's great. Oh my god. We were there in the beginning. We saw him in limit ah Limitless while he was in the independents. We saw him there almost a decade ago now.
01:00:09
Speaker
Eight years ago, something like that. Um... Dennis Rodman going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. We talk about him a lot on this show, but just because of the โ€“ we watched the Bulls documentary last year. we watched the Jordan Doc. We talked about WWE a lot, the Attitude Era, of course. um Yeah, going into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
01:00:32
Speaker
ah I hope he doesn't skip it for going to Las Vegas. Oh, he is in Las Vegas, so I guess it helps that he's there. yeah um Well, now now the big joke โ€“ because don't see it here, it would have been after that, is Sid Vicious is going into the WWE Hall Fame. That just happened this this week, yep.
01:00:48
Speaker
Yep, and the big joke there is, too bad he's not alive to no-show this event. Yeah, yeah. yeah the one thing The one thing I know about Sid Vicious, I wasn't watching WWF at the time, but WCW, he jumped off the top rope and broke his leg and it was live on television. He saw the thing snap and break.
01:01:09
Speaker
he would Yeah, that was like, was that their last, it was that, last year, I think the pay-per-view was, was it the last pay-per-view or just one of the last? One of the last, yeah. It was like, yeah one of the last, um like, six months of the show of the year. He used to like, skip out on shows to go like, play pick-up softball. Interesting. used to just not show up to play pick-up softball.
01:01:29
Speaker
Okay. That's weird. um The roast of Tom Brady happened last year. lot of people liked it. a lot of people complained about it. um One complaint of that show was, God, Kevin Hart's terrible. Well, this year, they're going to roast him. Netflix, hosted by Shane Gillis, is going to be doing another live roast at this time of Kevin Hart. coming happening on a Sunday, May 10th. I actually like the Tom Brady roast, but yeah very good you don't see stuff like that on television anymore, but just because comedy is so PG. Comedy Central used do them, right?
01:02:04
Speaker
Comedy Central used to do them. Heavily edited. think that's where they had the Trump roast. Yeah, heavily edited, and obviously. but yeah But yeah. You don't see a lot you'll see live ones like this and actually taking taking a stab at stuff like this, but Yeah, you cannot wait. Gonna watch that, talk about it. Jay-Z, 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt, 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, is going to be at Yankee Stadium in July.
01:02:28
Speaker
um Concert went on sale beginning of the week, and concert sold out immediately. They added a third show. Extra innings. So July 10th, 11th, and 12th, Jay-Z is going to be at Yankee Stadium doing a concert. First one, I believe, on the yeah First one's Reasonable Doubt. Second one's Blueprint. I don't know what the third one's going be. Maybe the rest of his career. I don't know. but I'd go to the Blueprint one, I think.
01:02:54
Speaker
love that Blueprint album. yeah So good. i wonder if it I hope it comes out. Either either i hope it's live streamed or I hope it comes out on some sort of a Blu-ray or movie special or something. I would love to see that. um Reacher. Oh, my God.
01:03:10
Speaker
Alan Richson. w We love his Reacher. We love him. Got into this scuffle. Wasn't his fault, by the way. the The police said he was not at fault for it, but he was riding his motorcycle with a couple of friends through our neighborhood.
01:03:24
Speaker
And... In the beginning, TMZ says that he attacks a neighbor in front of his children. And that wasn't the case. to The neighbor, he's driving down the street, and body cam footage that he had on his motorcycle showed that this neighbor, as he was driving down the road, just decided to run in front of his motorcycle, stop him, and then ends up flying over his handlebars, which is fucking dangerous.
01:03:47
Speaker
And he gets and he's like, what the fuck are you doing, dude? He gets back up on his bike. The guy pushes him off the bike again. So Alan Richardson goes over to him and just knocks and knocks and knocks and punches the fuck out of this guy. Knocks him down on the ground. That's a picture from TNZ on the right there. um And this happened in the middle of the week and beginning of the week. And then the police investigation said, yeah, you're not at fault for this. The camera shows obviously this guy was trying to confront you. Apparently he told...
01:04:14
Speaker
He told Alan Richen to slow down twice, and that's when he got in front of the motorcycle. Right, that's what he says. That's what he claims. I'm surprised there wouldn't be a lawsuit for this, but with the police saying that he's not at fault, I don't know how that can even happen. right But, yeah, um the video's awesome, though, because you see Reacher actually doing Reacher things. I didn't know Alan Richen was that much of a method actor, but holy shit. um eight punch He punches like a motherfucker, so... Yeah, great video if you want to hunt that down, especially the camp the the helmet cam was great. um Joining the cast of Last of Us Season 3, Patrick Wilson and um and the other the other guy, fuck ritter John Ritter's son is also joining the cast. I can't remember his name, but yes, Last of Us Season 3 joined the cast. Freebert.

01:08:39
Speaker
Sidney Sweeney is going to have her own franchise. too, and she's going to have her own franchise of kind of being a superhero. This is why she agreed to the deal for Madame Web, because they gave her a six-picture deal and started as a part of that.
01:08:51
Speaker
Yep. This came out last week. um He has not been cast, but the rumored star of the villain of the Miami Vice reboot is Tom Cruise. I would love to see Tom Cruise as a villain again. What's the last movie he was a villain in? what Collateral Damage? Was that the last movie he was a villain? Probably. yeah probably Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler going to be starring as Crocod and Tubbs. It's going to be the Top Gun Maverick director doing it, so it makes sense to bring
01:09:22
Speaker
Tom Cruise in there. So yeah, be awesome. i don't know if he would do it or not. You'd have to pay him a ton of money. But yeah. Val Kilmer. final role ah Final role that he filmed was Top Gun Maverick.
01:09:35
Speaker
But they're going to be using his likeness and AI as in as in the deep fake um in a movie called As Deep As The Grave. um The difference between this and other AI, which we have a problem with is this, number one, he was cast in this movie ten years ago.
01:09:50
Speaker
Then he got cancer. Couldn't film it, of course. Couldn't do any of his dialogue. So he was never able to to fulfill the requirement, but he loved the script, loved everything about it.
01:10:01
Speaker
um But they decided to make the movie after he died, and they got they got the daughter's approval to use AI to to use the same exact script that that Val Kilmer read and loved and and recreate it using a AI. and using And that's the picture right there if you see him dressed as a priest there. um So, yeah, Val Kilmer is going to one last role in AI.
01:10:24
Speaker
You like to hear stories like this. Speaker
um And he's like, that you left six chapters out from the book in the movie, and I want to take those chapters. And I think that would make a great movie, and that's what he's doing. It's set during the time, of the right before the Fellowship starts, and as they're beginning in their journey. Fourteen years after the passing of Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace The first steps of their adventure. 01:16:52
Speaker
I was sad about that about it, but there's literally nothing I could do to change the course of events. I suppose it was better than if they hadn't liked the sc script. He's also talking about how helicopters came in the studio and CIA and FBI trying to figure out how the hack was happening.
