Speaker: City University of New York professor Mark Lamont Hills said OJ killed two people, but his acquittal was, quote, correct and necessary to fight racism.
Speaker: Remember how racism was almost extinguished after Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were fertilized?
Speaker: Oh, but it gets better.
Speaker: Here is reporter Stephanie Elam on CNN saying the quiet part out loud.
Speaker: So just worth noting how much was impacted by this trial, Jake.
Speaker: So many things happened.
Speaker: We saw policing changing here in the city.
Speaker: And it's also worth noting because of that unrest, that racial unrest in the 90s, that is why so many people were just happy to see that someone who was rich and famous and black could get away with it.
Speaker: Other people did in the system as well, too.
Speaker: Ay, caramba!
Speaker: Yeah, no minorities ever got away with murder before OJ.
Speaker: What a thing to celebrate.
Speaker: When that's your victory, you've lost the argument.
