Speaker: Episode 70, the premier pep talk podcast.
Speaker: What's going on?
Speaker: What's up, Brian?
Speaker: How you doing, man?
Speaker: Ready to get things going for match day two?
Speaker: Match week two.
Speaker: Going to be a big one.
Speaker: We got some exciting matchups.
Speaker: Very, very good games this weekend.
Speaker: However, there was a midweek game this weekend that involved Manchester City for the Super Cup against Sevilla.
Speaker: And that's another cup in the bag for Man City.
Speaker: Speak on it.
Speaker: Loved it.
Speaker: Give me some more of it.
Speaker: Tight cheek moments.
Speaker: We were nervy.
Speaker: Defense looked suspect.
Speaker: Broke down.
Speaker: Ederson, I'm rocking your kit today because my God, do you show up for cup finals.
Speaker: Getting it done.
Speaker: Love it.
Speaker: I'm fully embracing these moments right now.
Speaker: Obviously, you never want to lose, but I would have been okay with the loss, even though it would have hurt a little bit knowing that
Speaker: You know, we missed on something.
Speaker: It's a big deal for us.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: It's our first Champions League.
Speaker: It's our first time representing the the UEFA side on the Super Cup.
Speaker: And it's it's dope.
Speaker: You know, you got to roll with it.
Speaker: And we looked suspect, but we move right now.
Speaker: It's not it's early in the season.
Speaker: Can't be caught up with that tough situation in Greece, you know, with the temperature and everything.
Speaker: But we play Saturday, you know, Prem didn't give us any any any help with the fixtures.
Speaker: They're known to kind of be dicks about that to certain clubs and certain things.
Speaker: And so, yeah, I'm stoked about it, though.
Speaker: I'm stoked about the win.
Speaker: Got it in penalties and we move.
Speaker: Yeah, tough one.
Speaker: Tough one coming up Saturday, too.
Speaker: I watched a little bit of a game.
Speaker: I thought it was kind of a boring game, to be honest.
Speaker: I think Sevilla probably deserved the win.
Speaker: They were better.
Speaker: Couldn't finish, though, and that's part of the game.
Speaker: You can't finish.
Speaker: You can't take the cup.
Speaker: Yeah, that's about it.
Speaker: Nothing really stood out for me.
Speaker: It was just kind of a Man City performance, but you still got it done in the end.
Speaker: Yeah, I watched the first half twice yesterday live, and then I watched the first half again today.
Speaker: I watched the second half once.
Speaker: You know, Ake had some great opportunities to put us up.
Speaker: You know, that keeper, Bono, did his job, and he was impressive.
Speaker: Madrid was looking at him, right?
Speaker: Yeah, he was on the list.
Speaker: I think he was on the list for them even before Courtois got hurt.
Speaker: just because kind of the drama thing that was going on, I think Madrid fans were actually saying because they weren't trying to hype that up too much because he was on the list already for them.
Speaker: But then obviously they decided to go with Kepa out of nowhere.
Speaker: But yeah, so I hear the boring thing.
Speaker: I hear a lot of people saying that.
Speaker: I thought Sevilla, for all intents and purposes, when they had the ball, they were good.
Speaker: They were really, really good.
Speaker: The beautiful cross and header that was scored.
Speaker: I mean, perfect placement.
Speaker: There's not much you can do about that.
Speaker: They had opportunities one-on-one with who I think right now is the greatest keeper in the world in Ederson.
Speaker: I mean, the man in clutch moments right now, the timing on the runouts, it's been great.
Speaker: So I was just so impressed with Ederson.
Speaker: Fully back my guy right now.
Speaker: He saved us.
Speaker: Sevilla looked good.
Speaker: we're choppy right now in the offense.
Speaker: We're choppy.
Speaker: And we got to clean that up.
Speaker: We tried some different shit too.
Speaker: And that's the other thing.
Speaker: Pep madman, Pep madman.
Speaker: Akanji within not even a minute on the clock, we see Akanji move up to that stones roll where we line up in a back four.
Speaker: But when we start attacking, we slide in Akanji to do the midfield work.
Speaker: I mean, there were moments where he was
Speaker: running to the byline to be able to get a ball because he was the perfect midfielder in that role.
Speaker: And then he would try to, you know, cross it back into Holland or somebody.
Speaker: It's crazy to think that we're, we're doing this, but pep mad bastard right now.
Speaker: Uh, the second half I think was a better indicator of how Joscow would look, uh, in the pram and in most games, because we, we had more dominant possession.
Speaker: Um, we, he started to make triangles really start to get the passing, right.
Speaker: for as great as Nathan Ake has been defensively, he hasn't really been that at the center back position.
Speaker: He's been that on more on the left side of a three back or left back really taken on soccer or taken on other major wingers.
Speaker: So,
Speaker: A lot of people are saying, well, yeah, they didn't have Stones and Diaz, but Ake's solid and Akanji's solid.
Speaker: And it's like, yeah, they are.
Speaker: There's no doubt.
Speaker: But let's call it for what it is and in the roles that they are.
Speaker: If you watch City, Akanji does not play that role typically, literally his first time doing that yesterday in the Super Cup.
Speaker: And then again, from the left side perspective,
Speaker: We're going to have to clean up that cross and we're going to have to between Ake and Josco.
Speaker: But I don't think that's what the system is going to be in situations later on.
Speaker: I think it's we really tried to do something different.
Speaker: Pep, again, testing the waters, doing wild shit.
Speaker: And we panned out in pens, five for five in pens when we obviously botched against Arsenal in the community shield.
Speaker: So, yeah, that's kind of – but, you know, it is.
Speaker: Again, we move right now because this next weekend is going to be the bee's knees, right?
Speaker: That's where everything is, and more importantly.
Speaker: And that should be the segment into our week two preview.
Speaker: Yes, very interesting games.
Speaker: Your team's involved in one.
Speaker: We got Spurs versus Man United at Thunderbirdsburg Stadium.
Speaker: Some other interesting games, Palace, Arsenal at Selhurst.
Speaker: West Ham, Chelsea at the London Stadium.
Speaker: So, yeah, we got a lot of good ones this weekend, but we start off with a stinker on Friday.
Speaker: Stinker.
Speaker: Nottingham Forest versus Sheffield United.
Speaker: Nottingham Forest trying to make a good signing today.
Speaker: Trying to sign Yusef Havana from Monaco, a player that we've talked about on this podcast.
Speaker: Looking like a very, very good box-to-box type midfielder.
Speaker: 24 years old.
Speaker: 35 million plus add-ons is the number to try to get it done at.
Speaker: I think that'd be a great signing for Forrest.
Speaker: And it just goes to show you the Premier League is the best league in the world.
Speaker: You got bottom of the bottom half of the table, Nottingham Forrest bringing in players like Yusef Fafana.
Speaker: Best league in the world, hands down.
Speaker: Easily, easily, Brian.
Speaker: And if you go back, I'll even tell you to even reinforce your point.
Speaker: There was at one point last summer when not when Forrest got brought up that City were in on a player.
Speaker: I'm going to state the player's name.
Speaker: Let's see if you can guess them.
Speaker: Both City and Forrest were in on this player.
Speaker: This player was highly coveted when he left this La Liga team.
Speaker: He plays a defensive position.
Speaker: City obviously wanting to fill this void thought it could be a good fit.
Speaker: And then I see City rumors dying down on this player, and I'm thinking, what's going on?
Speaker: Only for him to sign to Forrest, and immediately I thought to myself, that player is going to Forrest?
Speaker: He's definitely way more talented for that.
Speaker: He's a defender.
Speaker: Can you name this player?
Speaker: Yeah, the guy from Atletico Madrid.
Speaker: I can't think of his name right now.
Speaker: Exactly right.
Speaker: See, this is where you need to be playing FIFA, my guy.
Speaker: Good segue to the point that we're going to be dropping that next month.
Speaker: Already pre-ordered my EAFC.
Speaker: Yeah, you're not?
Speaker: I am.
Speaker: I just haven't yet.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: I got you.
Speaker: I got you.
Speaker: Yeah, I think it's worth the pre-order if you're going to do Ultimate Team.
Speaker: Yeah, but the player we're thinking of is Brazilian.
Speaker: Last hint.
Speaker: Yeah, I know who it is.
Speaker: I just can't think of his name right now.
Speaker: Renan Lodi.
Speaker: Lodi.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: From Athletico, right?
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: You're spot on with everything else.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I thought the hints were going to give it to you.
Speaker: But yeah, no, you're absolutely right, man.
Speaker: The Premier League is the best league in the world because they get top to bottom.
Speaker: We have clubs that are really going for it.
Speaker: The money's there, right?
Speaker: You can make a strong argument that a naysayer right now would say, well, all it is, it's the money.
Speaker: It's the money that allows for us to do this.
Speaker: Well, why is the money there?
Speaker: Why do people want to watch the Premier League in comparison?
Speaker: If you go back to the money, it goes to the viewers.
Speaker: It goes to the fact that the world right now is watching what was, without a shot of a doubt, the best league in the world.
Speaker: Top to bottom, there are clubs in there that on any given match day can find a way to get themselves a result.
Speaker: And you can't say the same in La Liga.
Speaker: You can definitively say that you can't say the same in Bundesliga.
Speaker: And I think we all know how you feel on Syria.
Speaker: Eh, Syria.
Speaker: So, yeah, you're spot on.
Speaker: You're spot on.
Speaker: It's a great league.
Speaker: Great move prospect for them.
Speaker: You've seen him more because what?
Speaker: Monaco played Arsenal, right?
Speaker: So you had a chance to see Fafana recently.
Speaker: Yeah, and a friendly.
Speaker: He bossed the midfield and looked really good.
Speaker: Baller.
Speaker: Baller.
Speaker: Baller.
Speaker: Yeah, looks like a good player.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm interested to see if he gets himself acclimated early enough to play this weekend.
Speaker: But either way, I'm kind of picking a certain club, if I'm honest.
Speaker: What's your pick?
Speaker: Let's breeze past this one.
Speaker: Sheffield United.
Speaker: No excitement about that team whatsoever.
Speaker: Nottingham Forest, go ahead.
Speaker: You make the first pick.
Speaker: Who won the picks last week?
Speaker: And you never covered that.
Speaker: We didn't, but I can give it to you right now.
Speaker: Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker: Your boy won by a point.
Speaker: Eight to seven.
Speaker: Yeah, the goal scorer is for you.
Speaker: Did it.
Speaker: Did it.
Speaker: Did it.
Speaker: That's the two points.
Speaker: That was pathetic.
Speaker: Very.
Speaker: Well, you know, you can't be mad about the one.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: That was the one.
Speaker: Marcus Rashford doing the goose egg, Casper the friendly ghost at his own stadium.
Speaker: You're kind of suspect there, Rashford.
Speaker: Maybe there's no chemistry moving forward for you two.
Speaker: I can only hope, but keep picking them, please.
Speaker: Trossard could have done something for me, but I didn't need it from a goal perspective.
Speaker: My boy, Giao Pedro, who is going to be a slight little favorite of a guy for me all year long, coming through first match week.
Speaker: But Brian, you were more spot on with me than the points overall for the games.
Speaker: You actually had seven points from scores.
Speaker: I only had six.
Speaker: You got right.
Speaker: The one that you got right and I didn't was Newcastle Villa.
Speaker: I predicted a 3-3 draw.
Speaker: You actually got Newcastle correct.
Speaker: So you got a point there.
Speaker: But then the 1-1 draw for Spurs and Brentford got you and it got me because Brentford hoed me.
Speaker: But ultimately, it came down to the goal scorers.
Speaker: I ended up with a one-point advantage, 8-7 going into match day two.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: So starts off close, just like it ended last year.
Speaker: Make the first pick since you won last week.
Speaker: Two to one Forrest.
Speaker: And Sheffield is lucky I'm giving him one only because I still think Forrest is still not there.
Speaker: But I'm only also going with the fact that Arsenal kind of had to give him a run last week.
Speaker: And Forrest just dealing off that competition.
Speaker: I think they'll be a little bit more prepared.
Speaker: I'm going two to one Forrest.
Speaker: I'm not giving Sheffield anything.
Speaker: 2-0 for us.
Speaker: That's a good shout.
Speaker: Will you watch this game?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: Well, yes, I lied.
Speaker: In the background, I will watch this game because I work Friday.
Speaker: So I will actually have one eye.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: One eye watch.
Speaker: Yeah, one eye watch.
Speaker: That's a perfect way to put it.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Let's go to the Saturday games.
Speaker: I think we mentioned it on the other podcast.
Speaker: Luton Town's game is suspended.
Speaker: So we have Luton Town and Burnley not on the schedule this week.
Speaker: So there's no early, early games on Saturday.
Speaker: So the first game is a 10 a.m.
Speaker: Eastern American time game, and that is between Fulham and Brentford.
Speaker: Very interesting game.
Speaker: Two teams that definitely were very good last year.
Speaker: Fulham unexpectedly, Brentford, you know, having another good season after their first season back in the Prem.
Speaker: Both Ivan Toney and Mitrovic probably be out.
Speaker: Mitrovic's move is almost pretty much done.
Speaker: I don't think he'll be playing.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: And yeah, it should be an interesting one.
Speaker: We're going to really see in this game if these two teams are going to kick on from last year.
Speaker: You know, which of these teams are?
Speaker: I think both of them are going to struggle a little bit, to be honest.
Speaker: I think there was overachieving.
Speaker: They've lost some key players, both teams.
Speaker: So I expect a little bit of a downturn in this game, though.
Speaker: It makes for a draw.
Speaker: A nice, nice draw.
Speaker: I'm going Fulham, one.
Speaker: Brunford, one.
Speaker: I was going back to see for the record.
Speaker: Is that your first draw?
Speaker: Both of us picked draws in the first week.
Speaker: Okay, so your draw is what again?
Speaker: 1-1.
Speaker: 1-1, got it.
Speaker: You know, both of these clubs, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Speaker: Who's going to be able to kind of keep the momentum from last year and build off of it, right?
Speaker: I think Brent Verge showed opportunities and flashes, I should say, flashes in that first week.
Speaker: Lack of consistency.
Speaker: Is this going to be two weeks in a row where we're asking themselves the clinical finishing of a Sir Ivan Tony and MrBet.com himself?
Speaker: Are we missing him that much?
Speaker: I think just off the cuff, yes.
Speaker: I think they have the attacking power to get past Fulham.
Speaker: I'm going another two to one and it's going to be to Brentford away to at the cottage at the cottage.
Speaker: Yeah, I think it's a good pick, but yeah, hopefully it's a good game.
Speaker: At least, you know, it's at least a good game.
Speaker: Next one, Liverpool.
Speaker: Liverpool.
Speaker: First Burnmouth at Anfield.
Speaker: Liverpool finally signed a DM.
Speaker: There you go.
Speaker: A 30-year-old DM called Endo.
Speaker: They went from Enzo to Endo.
Speaker: Times are tough at Anfield.
Speaker: Yeah, a 30-year-old DM they're bringing in.
Speaker: Also looking at Decore.
Speaker: They really, really, their targets really took a huge drop.
Speaker: They're really talking themselves into this Decore being as good as Caicedo and Lavia and all that.
Speaker: Well, I like Decore, his levels to this game, baby.
Speaker: And yeah, I think with all that said, there's a pretty easy game for Liverpool at Anfield.
Speaker: This was at Burnmouth.
Speaker: I might pick this a little different or at least a little closer, but it's at Anfield.
Speaker: Their fans are going to be hyped.
Speaker: There's going to be a lot of FSG out possibly.
Speaker: You never know.
Speaker: You never know.
Speaker: But I'm going three.
Speaker: No, I'm going 4-1 Liverpool.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So your answer in itself took away the first prop bet of the year I wanted to offer to you, sir.
Speaker: Let's do it.
Speaker: It's home.
Speaker: It's Anfield.
Speaker: You're spot on with the FSG out.
Speaker: I think we're going to get that.
Speaker: But
Speaker: The main thing we've been targeting with this pool team is that defense and the lack of any sort of just consistency and kind of just getting back to their Champions League ways, right?
Speaker: The way they kind of got to those Madrid teams and got to be able to kind of really get deep into the season far into tournaments.
Speaker: Over or under on a particular shots on goal.
Speaker: Not target, just shots on goal for Bournemouth.
Speaker: Do you want to go on over or under on shots on goal?
Speaker: Yeah, what's the number?
Speaker: Well, I'm looking at the odds for this game.
Speaker: Not on target, just on goal.
Speaker: Just on goal, not on target.
Speaker: Just shots at the keeper.
Speaker: And I am comfortable...
Speaker: Because I am going to do a quick Google search.
Speaker: Now I can't talk.
Speaker: What do you think about the number five and a half shots on goal?
Speaker: Good.
Speaker: You good with that?
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: What if I gave you an over or under on three and a half goals for the game?
Speaker: which is what the number is for Vegas right now.
Speaker: So what are you picking for shots on goal?
Speaker: Over or under?
Speaker: I'm going to go under for Bournemouth.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I'll take the over.
Speaker: Goals overall?
Speaker: I mean, I picked four to one, so I'll take anything over.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: You're going over on the both, right?
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: I'll go over on both.
Speaker: What's the number though?
Speaker: For which one?
Speaker: Goals in general.
Speaker: My personal pick or the number that we're going off of?
Speaker: The one we're betting on.
Speaker: The one we're betting on is three and a half.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: I'll go over.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Because you have four to one.
Speaker: Four to one.
Speaker: And what's your prediction?
Speaker: I'm going three now.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So we're just under.
Speaker: Cool.
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: Just under.
Speaker: You're taking a goal scorer.
Speaker: You gave me first pick.
Speaker: I give you first goal score.
Speaker: I'll take Salah again.
Speaker: I'm going to double down.
Speaker: You're going double down on him.
Speaker: I don't think he'll let me down twice.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: He's going to score at home.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: Tie right now.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Salah.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: I'm going to stay away from this game.
Speaker: I'm going to stay away from pool for a week.
Speaker: Let me see it, how it opens up at home.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: But yeah, yeah, I like it.
Speaker: I like the prop bets.
Speaker: All right, let's go to the next one.
Speaker: Wolves, who had a very, very good opening game at Old Trafford playing the hot Brighton.
Speaker: This would be an interesting one.
Speaker: We will see if Wolves at the Molyneux can carry on from that performance at Old Trafford, or was that down to, man, you just playing stinky, stinky ball.
Speaker: Honestly, I think it's more down to that.
Speaker: I'm not riding this Wolves wave.
Speaker: I think it's a one-off game that we're not going to really care about when the season's done.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: What do you think?
Speaker: I mean, look...
Speaker: Brighton are a better team and Wolves can try to take it to them, but I think Brighton are just going to really dominate this game.
Speaker: This is the wrong game to kind of judge what they did against United.
Speaker: I will say if they get any sort of momentum and make this interesting, we got to scratch our heads about these opening opponents they have and how they were able to do this because both of these are top, top clubs.
Speaker: So I'm more of an burn me the second time.
Speaker: Let me see it two in a row and then I'll believe you.
Speaker: I'll doubt it.
Speaker: I'm going to stay doubting it because I don't think you really got it like that.
Speaker: I think United are just that piss poor mentality wise that when you have a fucking home opener, you can't take care of fucking business.
Speaker: I think it's more of that as opposed to them being an actual reality to anything solidified that can take on top six teams.
Speaker: So I got a bright and big, big victory.
Speaker: Why don't you go ahead and get the score first for you?
Speaker: I'm not going big.
Speaker: I think it'll be a tightly contested game.
Speaker: A lot of missed chances, probably from both teams to be fair.
Speaker: But I think at the end of the day, it'll be a 2-1 Brighton win.
Speaker: Wow, you kind of edged this out?
Speaker: Yeah, I think it'll be one of those convincing 2-0s where they weren't really worried at any point, but kind of like how Arsenal was against Nottingham Forest.
Speaker: They dominate, but
Speaker: the scoreline shows that it was closer than it really was.
Speaker: Perfect, perfect game for a three to one.
Speaker: Let me walk you through it.
Speaker: You get yourself a little bit of a, Mr. My Matoma.
Speaker: Get you a little bit of my Matoma, which I'm going to go ahead and take as a goal scorer.
Speaker: You open up with a little bit of that.
Speaker: You're going to get yourself a great, just solid overall victory.
Speaker: And then towards the end of the second half, you're going to give up a little fart stinker of a goal.
Speaker: Three to one, Brighton over Wolves.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: So this is the afternoon games in Saturday, late night in the UK.
Speaker: First one, very, very interesting.
Speaker: Tottenham Hotspur at home taking on Manchester United.
Speaker: This is an interesting game, and it's a huge clash of styles.
Speaker: The counter puncher playing the knockout artist.
Speaker: When I say knockout artist, I don't mean they're going to knock you out, but they're going to attack, attack, attack this new Ange-Pastacoglu ball where
Speaker: You saw Romero or Davidson Sanchez and Mickey can't defend on an island.
Speaker: You were stopping on that guy's name.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: It's going to be another bust.
Speaker: You saw them on an island in that game.
Speaker: And Brentford, wow, they only got the draw.
Speaker: They had a lot of shots on goal.
Speaker: A lot of shots on goal.
Speaker: Probably should have walked out of there with a W. Some bunnies missed.
Speaker: Now,
Speaker: Manchester United have no problem sitting back and countering.
Speaker: So who wins that battle?
Speaker: Are you going to go with the top, the very, very attacking style of Angbo, or are you going to go with the counter-attacking style of Eric Ten Hag?
Speaker: I'm just not buying into this attack yet for Spurs.
Speaker: I think people are very, very hyped on it.
Speaker: At the end of the day, I saw Richarlison do absolutely nothing.
Speaker: Kulsevsky do absolutely nothing.
Speaker: Sun do absolutely nothing.
Speaker: Madison Basuma had good games.
Speaker: Everybody else on that pitch, besides maybe Udagi, Destiny, whatever that guy's name is, everybody else was bang average.
Speaker: Bang average.
Speaker: So they're all hyped up over a draw.
Speaker: What do you think?
Speaker: What do you think?
Speaker: You are looking at this at a lot more detailed of a look.
Speaker: I mean, you have really gotten into the bee's knees of this.
Speaker: If I were to like look at this as an image and you looking at like the center of it, if I were to just kind of push down and scroll away and kind of look at the greater image, you're basically asking me right now.
Speaker: If I think Angebal in match day two of his career is going to make himself get a statement win at home against a huge, huge, historically huge club.
Speaker: Because they're shit now, but a historically good club.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I don't see it.
Speaker: But I sure as fuck want it because I hate United.
Speaker: But I also hate Tottenham.
Speaker: Logically, it doesn't make sense.
Speaker: I think it's going to be a little bit of a reality, I think, for the most part.
Speaker: Yeah, I gotta say it.
Speaker: I think United are just a little bit more cleaned up and polished than Tottenham.
Speaker: And this could be a huge reality that Angel Ball, if you just want to try to keep attacking with Mr. The only two left back there are can't defend and Davis and Sancho Sanchez.
Speaker: Oh, my gosh.
Speaker: Good fucking luck.
Speaker: I mean, I'm sorry.
Speaker: I hate both clubs.
Speaker: But if it's two on two with Bruno and Rashford on the counter.
Speaker: I'm taking those two over those other two Nimwits.
Speaker: So, yeah, I actually think United are going to get this one.
Speaker: What's the score?
Speaker: This one will be 2-1 United.
Speaker: I agree with you.
Speaker: I think when they counter, they're pretty good at the counter.
Speaker: The key to this game for me is Rashford must start on the left.
Speaker: He is not a good striker.
Speaker: And while him at striker could work because all he does as a striker is just try to run behind defenders.
Speaker: So it still could work, but I'd still rather have him on the left.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: You put him on that left.
Speaker: Is this where we might see Sancho in the false nine?
Speaker: Because we saw that in preseason.
Speaker: I don't know about Martial's health, but one thing about Martial...
Speaker: If you have to guess if he's healthy, he's probably not.
Speaker: So, yeah.
Speaker: I was never healthy.
Speaker: So I'm going to probably say he goes with Sancho at the false nine just so they can have Rashford at his best position, which is left wing.
Speaker: I actually think Mason Mount will do a lot better in this game.
Speaker: People will be hyped on him.
Speaker: I think he could even score a goal.
Speaker: I'm not going to pick him, but I think this game is suited for Man United.
Speaker: I'm just not buying this.
Speaker: Oh, Tottenham's back.
Speaker: They're going to do all this.
Speaker: I saw, while I did see a lot of good patterns of play, at the end of the day, I don't believe in any of those forwards anymore.
Speaker: That includes Suns.
Speaker: He's been terrible now for 13 months.
Speaker: He looks old.
Speaker: He looks old.
Speaker: He stunk in the World Cup.
Speaker: He did.
Speaker: He just doesn't look good.
Speaker: And I don't believe in any of them except James Madison, who I am going to take for my goal score.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Second, I'm taking him.
Speaker: I believe in Madison.
Speaker: I think he'll get a goal in his home debut.
Speaker: That'll gas up the Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Speaker: Penn?
Speaker: It will be a goal and a loss.
Speaker: 3-1 Manchester United.
Speaker: Three.
Speaker: No, I think it'll be a goal in open play.
Speaker: Yeah, I just think they'll get hit on the counter.
Speaker: If Brentford got a lot of chances, Man U are going to get them.
Speaker: And Man U scored one goal last weekend.
Speaker: So I'm sure they're going to get on the score sheet this week, even though not the best attack.
Speaker: But I think they played some of their best ball last year when they were countering.
Speaker: So, yeah, I'll go with that.
Speaker: I think they're going to be so open, Tottenham.
Speaker: I think this is a bad matchup for Tottenham.
Speaker: I got to be honest.
Speaker: They can counter.
Speaker: I mean, there's not many better countering teams.
Speaker: giving that ball to Bruno in open space, that's when he's at his best.
Speaker: It really is.
Speaker: Picking apart those through balls.
Speaker: Yeah, it really is.
Speaker: I think, yeah, I can even see Bruno scoring.
Speaker: See, the other thing about this that really bothers me, if you really think about it, will Wolves that good defensively that stop them from scoring?
Speaker: Is Jose Sa that good of a keeper to where he had an outstanding performance last week?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: Can you think of times where United missed bunnies and you can say, no, this week they'll make those bunnies.
Speaker: I'm trying to justify where this potential of finishing... I'm trying to justify how this offense was good enough playing Wolves at fucking home on match day one...
Speaker: To where we can justify three goals.
Speaker: Now, here I am with two goals for him, but I don't know.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Go ahead and slam my pick, why don't you?
Speaker: Jesus Christ.
Speaker: Whoa.
Speaker: Coming at me.
Speaker: Coming at me, bro.
Speaker: What I'm hearing, and this is where I say you're not wrong.
Speaker: I have an answer for it, but yeah, finish your point.
Speaker: It's really more of that much lack of trust and emphasis on this Ange ball.
Speaker: I think it really is the fact that this guy is caught butt naked out there.
Speaker: And you're probably getting Rashford and Bruno.
Speaker: I think it's that combination that gets on the run.
Speaker: Because I'm telling you right now, if I see another half an hour or an hour of a match for United and Luke Shaw and Juan Bissaka look like the most lethal attacking threats, I'm asking myself questions.
Speaker: man i'm asking myself questions so i don't know i don't know but we'll see we'll see you're definitely not wrong it's it's that it could be that slap moment for big ang right it could be that slap in the face moment don't be fired up if they get this dub they really will oh god if they give them a false sense of hope which won't be a bad thing mud of the week's incoming if if they get a dub out of this
Speaker: But here's the difference in the Man U game against Wolves and the one this weekend.
Speaker: Last week, I think they were almost arrogant in their tactics.
Speaker: They just pretty much said, we're going to put Casemiro on an island.
Speaker: Seriously, we're going to put him on an island and he's going to be able to handle their midfield.
Speaker: And we saw very quickly that wasn't the case.
Speaker: Wolves' midfield was very good.
Speaker: They push forward more than they usually do.
Speaker: They were very arrogant, just leaving Casemiro all alone.
Speaker: If you see the heat maps, Casemiro was one against five in almost every pattern of play.
Speaker: So they're not going to do that again.
Speaker: At least I don't think they will.
Speaker: I don't...
Speaker: The thing that I liked about 10 Hag last year is he was very flexible with his tactics.
Speaker: He would do one thing one week, and then another week he would, oh, we're going to be a little more attacking.
Speaker: Or this week, you know what?
Speaker: We're going to sit back and hit him on the counter.
Speaker: I think this week they're going to have a whole different setup.
Speaker: That's why I'm saying Sancho, false nine, Rashford back on the wing, and they're going to counter.
Speaker: You might even see Erickson back in there just to give some more defensive analysis.
Speaker: cover for Casemiro, but we'll see.
Speaker: Maybe just they'll bring Mountain back, but they're going to play a whole different style this week.
Speaker: I really believe that.
Speaker: And I think that style will suit Manchester United because I just, I saw so, and we're talking about Mbwemu and fucking Wissa, you know, these guys, it's a big difference, you know, as much as we make fun of Bruno, what a clown he can be.
Speaker: He's a quality player at times.
Speaker: I think this is a game for him to – he didn't do shit last week, so he'll probably – he's one of those players where he can be totally taken out of the game, and then next week he's got a goal and two assists.
Speaker: So that's how I see it.
Speaker: I just think Panhag was a little arrogant.
Speaker: Home against Wolves.
Speaker: Wolves are trash.
Speaker: Let's just put Casemiro on an island, and we're going to do whatever we want in this game, and it's going to be a fun party homecoming.
Speaker: It didn't happen.
Speaker: I don't think he'll do that again.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: No, you're spot on because I can definitely see the fact that they went out there and were like, no, Casemiro can handle.
Speaker: Who this?
Speaker: Lamina?
Speaker: Who?
Speaker: Who are these Matthias's?
Speaker: No, we're fine.
Speaker: We can be able to handle this.
Speaker: And Cunha and Nunez started cooking.
Speaker: I mean, it's just – it's shameful.
Speaker: But, yeah, you're right to your point.
Speaker: He was flexible last year.
Speaker: I have to – as a hater, I watched the game.
Speaker: And it's not a hating fact or a positive fact towards any club –
Speaker: When you watch their club and you see tactics, you have to be able to acknowledge what is facts.
Speaker: And facts are, he switched his line.
Speaker: He was very much an amoeba last year.
Speaker: I mean, how they were depressed, how – I mean, he approached City two different ways.
Speaker: And that's clear as day.
Speaker: No more example you need to know as to how his tactics go and the diversity in it.
Speaker: But just –
Speaker: I just laugh at the fact that they're arrogant over Wolves in match.
Speaker: They fucked a bunch of ass.
Speaker: And the fact that it's at Tottenham too, they'll have no problem playing counter ball.
Speaker: They'll have no problem doing it on the road.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: They'll probably be happy doing it.
Speaker: They'll invite it.
Speaker: So, um, yeah, it should be interesting though.
Speaker: Um, I already told my fiance, I watching ball all fucking day from, from 10 AM until messy in the cup final at 8 30 PM or whenever that is 9 PM.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So,
Speaker: It's ball all fucking day.
Speaker: I'm not moving.
Speaker: Facts.
Speaker: Full day of ball.
Speaker: Full day of ball.
Speaker: Because the next game we got is a doozy.
Speaker: Another doozy.
Speaker: Back-to-back doozies.
Speaker: Double doos.
Speaker: A double doos, we'll call it.
Speaker: Double-decker of doozies.
Speaker: Double-decker of doozy.
Speaker: At the Etihad, Newcastle United is coming to town.
Speaker: I think this is such a trap game for Manchester City in the sense that...
Speaker: You go away to Burnley, first game of the week.
Speaker: You go to fucking Greece midweek Wednesday.
Speaker: And then you come home for your beautiful homecoming against Newcastle United, who had a great time in their opening game last week, slapping up Villa 5-1.
Speaker: If they're not going to be confident in going into this one,
Speaker: They never will be confident.
Speaker: Trust me, they will be oozing confidence going to this one.
Speaker: They will know, hey, short week for City.
Speaker: Just came back from Greece on Thursday.
Speaker: Boom.
Speaker: Now they got to play us two days later.
Speaker: Saturday game.
Speaker: Pep's fuming about the time of this game.
Speaker: I think it's such a good spot for Newcastle.
Speaker: What do you think as a City fan?
Speaker: Oh, I'm nervy.
Speaker: Oh, I'm nervy.
Speaker: This is the one.
Speaker: This is the one to where we can get the dose of reality, right?
Speaker: We know that we're going to lose.
Speaker: That's going to happen.
Speaker: We're not going invincible.
Speaker: We're not going to be able to deal with the levels of consistency all throughout this season.
Speaker: And everyone anticipates.
Speaker: All the pundits are reading how the season was last year and knowing how we do.
Speaker: Quiet, softer.
Speaker: They drop points early in the year, but they get things done in the business end of the season.
Speaker: And I say this from a personal coach who went through a series of competitions and knowing how to strategize for a conference tournament and do or die scenarios.
Speaker: Butt cheek clinch moments throughout the season help you in that end of season run.
Speaker: And you need it early on to be able to know, to test the fortitude of the Mateo Kovacic's, of the Josh Kovarriol's, of even the Cole Palmers.
Speaker: God, that guy's value's gone up, speaking of a beautiful name like Cole.
Speaker: These younger players that are on this squad that while have been here with us, have tasted it, have got an understanding of it, you have to play in it yourself in those tight clinch moments because Pep, the world, everyone needs to see how you can handle those.
Speaker: And that's why we're good end of season, because throughout the business end, before we get there, we have proof cemented in the changes while growing pains.
Speaker: Yes, dropping points.
Speaker: We solidify it because we get the run in.
Speaker: We get the regimen.
Speaker: We practice.
Speaker: We do the things that are getting us there for the end goal.
Speaker: This is a tight cheek moment that I think potentially we can lose because it's got all the narrative for us to just get an absolute stinker rainy day moment.
Speaker: Shit on the fact that we bring the trouble home.
Speaker: Shit on the fact, oh, reminder number 18.
Speaker: Shit on the fact that we are just bringing everything back.
Speaker: It's the first time in front of our fans since that trouble moment.
Speaker: Reminder number 19.
Speaker: And so we know now that
Speaker: We're going into it not with a Burnley, not with a cake of a team like a West Ham, like a Fulham or a Wolves even because we'd handle fucking business on week one against Wolves at home.
Speaker: That's all I'd fucking say.
Speaker: But it really, to me, comes down to the defense.
Speaker: And I think we are shaky.
Speaker: We're going to give up goals.
Speaker: They are lethal.
Speaker: They are lethal.
Speaker: They are.
Speaker: There's no better time for Newcastle to come into the Etihad and handle business.
Speaker: My oil brethren, I pray for their best wishes and good fortune to them all season long.
Speaker: May the oil rain on you and douse you in good fortune and health and good prosper until you come across our great club as well.
Speaker: To all my chic brothers and sisters out there.
Speaker: I will say to this, a 4-3 win.
Speaker: I say a 4-3 win.
Speaker: For who?
Speaker: For who?
Speaker: I'm never going against my club.
Speaker: Manchester City are going to pull this fucking bitch out.
Speaker: 4-3.
Speaker: Yeah, I keep going back and forth between draw and Newcastle.
Speaker: Pull it off.
Speaker: Everything just says that Newcastle will win this for me.
Speaker: There's no disrespect to City.
Speaker: Slow starters.
Speaker: Didn't look good midweek.
Speaker: Game at the turf more.
Speaker: Then four days later, game in Greece.
Speaker: And two days later, playing a very, very electric Newcastle who are just going to press.
Speaker: And they got a good defense.
Speaker: And they got Esak who's on fire.
Speaker: They can bring in Callan Wilson and Harvey Barnes off the bench.
Speaker: It's just looking like a very good team bringing in Lewis Hall today.
Speaker: That's a good signing for them.
Speaker: I'm a fan of Lewis Hall.
Speaker: Yeah, he's good.
Speaker: So it just looks like a team that's just very, very smart right now.
Speaker: And it's a perfect spot.
Speaker: It's a very, very perfect spot.
Speaker: And I'm sure they know it just like we do.
Speaker: I'm going three, two.
Speaker: Newcastle.
Speaker: I hear it.
Speaker: I hear it.
Speaker: I rate it.
Speaker: And I...
Speaker: Don't doubt it.
Speaker: I'm nervous about it.
Speaker: I am nervous about it.
Speaker: I don't see myself picking against City much this year, but I think if you're going to pick against them, this is a very, very good game to pick against them.
Speaker: Yeah, it is.
Speaker: It is for sure.
Speaker: Completely agree with that.
Speaker: Goal scores.
Speaker: Other than my Matoma.
Speaker: Okay, you got to pick another one because I'm on two.
Speaker: You are on two.
Speaker: Julian Alvarez is questionable.
Speaker: Holland did me right last week.
Speaker: Does Phil or Jack start?
Speaker: A lot of talk about Jack again.
Speaker: I think Jack gets on the board this week.
Speaker: I don't know if I really want to pick him.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm going to back my boy.
Speaker: Let's do it.
Speaker: I got Jack Grealish getting himself a goal.
Speaker: Grealish with the goal.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, that should be an exciting one.
Speaker: Like I said, the back-to-back with United, Spurs, City, Newcastle.
Speaker: That's a nice four or five hours right there.
Speaker: Very, very nice.
Speaker: And that will end out the day for Saturday.
Speaker: And now we go to the Sunday games, Aston Villa.
Speaker: Their homecoming will be against Everton this week.
Speaker: And you got to favor Villa in here.
Speaker: They're not going to want to start off 0-2 after the slapping they received last week at Newcastle.
Speaker: So I'm favoring a nice win for them.
Speaker: It's going to be parked the bus settings for Everton.
Speaker: I don't think it'll be, you know, they lost their number 10, Buendia, the guy who's going to unlock defenses.
Speaker: They brought in Zanolo from Roma.
Speaker: Good player, good player.
Speaker: But I'm sure he's not going to start in this one.
Speaker: So I think they will win.
Speaker: I just don't think it'll be very high scoring.
Speaker: I think it'll be a 2-0 Villa win.
Speaker: That's a good shout.
Speaker: That's a really good shout.
Speaker: I was going to go
Speaker: I don't see Everton doing anything offensively here.
Speaker: 2-0 Villa is a really good shout.
Speaker: I'm going to go 1-0.
Speaker: I think that broken down park the bus is going to be somewhat effective, but Villa are going to come through somehow.
Speaker: Definitely not touching goal scorers for Villa, though.
Speaker: Definitely not touching goal scorers.
Speaker: What about your boy, Ollie?
Speaker: You named your son after him.
Speaker: Come on.
Speaker: Shirley did not name my son after Ollie Watkins, for fuck's sake.
Speaker: Sure.
Speaker: Absolutely.
Speaker: 10,000%.
Speaker: You know, here's the thing about Ollie Watkins.
Speaker: And so this fucker, you know, does something consistency.
Speaker: Does something consistent.
Speaker: every week and keeps it going he starts he gets a lot of minutes but i i gotta see i gotta see the execution this year this year two weeks i mean this is the second week come on like the first week was kind of suspect that was a great moment for you great great great potential season starter for you so i'm a little bothered by it i don't know who's gonna who's gonna get it but i know it's coming for him because everton are that much of the dark arts that i don't favor it so one nil villa
Speaker: Fuck off to both of these clubs, actually.
Speaker: Unai, I'm pissed off at you about this week, man.
Speaker: Pissed off at you.
Speaker: Didn't show up for shit.
Speaker: He's angry.
Speaker: Is Villa going to be the new West Ham of last year?
Speaker: You were very angry.
Speaker: I am.
Speaker: I am.
Speaker: I am.
Speaker: Look, you know, you had moments.
Speaker: You had moments in that game.
Speaker: You know, Diaby comes in.
Speaker: He looks good.
Speaker: I mean, you shit the bed.
Speaker: You shit the bed.
Speaker: And part of this right now on why I'm so tight-cheeked is because there was expectations for you going into this season.
Speaker: And because Newcastle do what they did and slap you, I'm in a situation where I'm even more tight-cheeked.
Speaker: If it was a 3-3 draw like I had predicted, I still would be tight-cheeked, but I'm not as tight-cheeked.
Speaker: I am hellaciously tight-cheeked now because I thought Villa were going to be something, and they got slapped last week.
Speaker: So here I am questioning everything about Villa.
Speaker: Questions are going to be asked, baby.
Speaker: Yeah, so that should be a good one.
Speaker: Another decent game after that will be West Ham making a home debut.
Speaker: You're an eye favorite team.
Speaker: Still a fan favorite, West Ham.
Speaker: Taking on Chelsky with the new $100 million boy probably making his debut.
Speaker: Yeah, he plays.
Speaker: He plays.
Speaker: He starts 100%.
Speaker: You think he starts?
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: They did it with Enzo last year.
Speaker: They brought him in first game starting.
Speaker: Hey.
Speaker: I think they did it with Mudrick as well.
Speaker: So, yeah, he's starting.
Speaker: I'm going to give you the same argument that Chelsea fans give you.
Speaker: Hey, hey, that wasn't our manager.
Speaker: That wasn't under our manager.
Speaker: I can't keep track.
Speaker: You've had four managers in the last eight months.
Speaker: Spot on.
Speaker: Stupid ass club.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So what do you think about this game?
Speaker: You think this is going to be something for him?
Speaker: Listen, anytime it's the opening home game for a team, the crowd is going to be wild.
Speaker: It's usually going to be a good one for the home crowd in some way.
Speaker: However, I just don't trust West Ham at all.
Speaker: I think they're going to make it ugly for Chelsea, which could work in their favor.
Speaker: I still don't think these guys have finishers.
Speaker: Rhys James, well, this guy looks like he's going to be one of those what-if players.
Speaker: What if he didn't get injured all the time?
Speaker: Injured again.
Speaker: We said he was one of the best players, so Gusto's going to have to come in.
Speaker: Don't know much about him.
Speaker: Really haven't seen him in the Premier League yet.
Speaker: So I think it's going to be another close game.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Chelsea have to pick up points.
Speaker: They do.
Speaker: After all this money spent, like I said, I need to see a title, title charge.
Speaker: You can't spend a billion dollars and talk about, yay, we made fifth place.
Speaker: The new Champions League place.
Speaker: That's a successful season.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Europe.
Speaker: It's not.
Speaker: It's not.
Speaker: That's an embarrassing season.
Speaker: So they can't have another draw here.
Speaker: They can't.
Speaker: It'll be four points behind the big boys if you drop points.
Speaker: And they can't have that.
Speaker: It's got to be a win.
Speaker: I think they'll pull it off.
Speaker: It won't be pretty.
Speaker: Two to one, Chelsea.
Speaker: That's a real...
Speaker: You know, the attack really wasn't all there for Chelsea last week.
Speaker: They had moments.
Speaker: Couldn't finish.
Speaker: Jackson Martinez, suspect as fuck.
Speaker: West Ham, Lucas Bacchetta, are you starting?
Speaker: Are you playing?
Speaker: Don't you dare get hurt.
Speaker: If he does, West Ham, you just fucked yourself with money.
Speaker: I don't know how they're going to approach this.
Speaker: West Ham don't really have it.
Speaker: I mean, who's got West Ham scoring?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: 2-0 Chelsea.
Speaker: I think they're just going to find a way to get some goals.
Speaker: two zip Chelsea touching any goal scorers here God no I don't trust I don't even know just a fucking lineup for Chelsea to be honest with you not touching it not touching it yeah yeah it should be interesting though um oh yeah it's a it's a big game for Chelsea they can't be losing games like this they can't they can't like I said it's got to be a title charge and um
Speaker: Yeah, I think it's going to be interesting.
Speaker: I almost want to pick the draw.
Speaker: I almost want to pick the draw.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: That'd be a meltdown, but I'll go two on Chelsea.
Speaker: What are you struggling more with when you're trying to pick the draw?
Speaker: Are you struggling more with trying to find a way to cope with West Ham scoring two goals?
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: You don't even need the second answer.
Speaker: Yeah, I agree.
Speaker: I just don't know where the creativity is going to be there.
Speaker: I just don't.
Speaker: I don't see it.
Speaker: You don't have enough around.
Speaker: But get there.
Speaker: And I mean, Sucek's talented.
Speaker: Sucek, I actually like, to be honest.
Speaker: I actually very much like Sucek, but I don't I don't I don't trust it.
Speaker: I don't trust it.
Speaker: Yeah, I don't trust it so much.
Speaker: I got him a goose egg.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Hang on one second.
Speaker: Fucking fire alarm went off.
Speaker: We were talking too much Chelsea.
Speaker: That was the sign to move on.
Speaker: What the fuck?
Speaker: Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker: The Monday game, Crystal Palace at home against Arsenal.
Speaker: Crystal Palace is always a tough game for us.
Speaker: Always, always tough.
Speaker: No, we say he did sign a new contract, though, which is surprising.
Speaker: Um, I thought you were trolling when you sent me that news, but good for, good for crystal palace.
Speaker: Rumors are he resigned and Chelsea backed off.
Speaker: Cause they threatened them saying, Hey, you, you guys did a little legal transfer here and Chelsea backed off right away.
Speaker: So there must've been something to that.
Speaker: The cheaters are always going to cheat.
Speaker: And, uh, I'm not surprised.
Speaker: Good for palace for keeping a lease.
Speaker: I believe he's injured though.
Speaker: So we won't see him in this game.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: As somebody who's playing Palace, I'm watching out for Eze.
Speaker: I think you stop that guy, you stop the whole Crystal Palace attack, and you have success at Selhurst.
Speaker: Selhurst is always a tough place to go.
Speaker: Very, very small stadium.
Speaker: The fans make it very, very difficult there to play.
Speaker: So I'm expecting one of these games where it's a slow start.
Speaker: You're kind of like after 30 minutes going, oh, God, it's going to be one of those games.
Speaker: And then the goal comes, and then you pile on the goals.
Speaker: That's how I'm kind of expecting this to go.
Speaker: It'll be a slow starter because of the crowd.
Speaker: The crowd will keep Palace in this one for about 30 minutes.
Speaker: And then Arsenal will pull it out, and I'm expecting a 2-0 win.
Speaker: See, defensively, I don't think Crystal Palace have it.
Speaker: They just keep it at 2.
Speaker: Gahey.
Speaker: Gahey's good.
Speaker: I like Gahey.
Speaker: They don't have the minerals to keep you at two.
Speaker: They just don't.
Speaker: They do not.
Speaker: And you know what?
Speaker: Just like Julian brought it up in match day one, you know, when it was two to one, he turned over to Big Robbie and said, goal difference.
Speaker: You know, it matters.
Speaker: It matters.
Speaker: So fucking early in the year.
Speaker: Goal difference.
Speaker: It matters.
Speaker: I'm going to go 4-0.
Speaker: 4-0.
Speaker: 4-0 over Crystal Palace.
Speaker: I think it's going to be a hellacious slapping.
Speaker: I think both of us are at two goal scorers.
Speaker: You're up next.
Speaker: I picked Grealish last.
Speaker: Who you got?
Speaker: Um...
Speaker: Who's going to score?
Speaker: It's tough.
Speaker: There's some options.
Speaker: There's four goals for me.
Speaker: Goals get spread out in this game.
Speaker: They do.
Speaker: They do.
Speaker: I'm going to do it, though.
Speaker: Kai motherfucking Havertz.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: That's a good shout.
Speaker: Kai.
Speaker: Cobra Kai.
Speaker: Man.
Speaker: He was one of the four that I did have scoring.
Speaker: I have Kai.
Speaker: One of the four.
Speaker: He was one of the four.
Speaker: You heard your last pick down to four people.
Speaker: He was one of the four that I had picked.
Speaker: And I can assure you he was not number one.
Speaker: But I'm going to go with my number one option because I think he's just informing.
Speaker: He's just waiting to just go ahead and get that goal in.
Speaker: He's been playing well.
Speaker: Every other player has gotten himself netted something.
Speaker: I haven't seen him net something recently, but he's been there.
Speaker: He's been there doing the work.
Speaker: He's there.
Speaker: He's sniffing it.
Speaker: He's sniffing it.
Speaker: I'm going with Martinelli.
Speaker: Yeah, I can see him scoring this.
Speaker: I didn't just want to pick the same people from last week, though, because I had Salah and Martinelli.
Speaker: So I wanted to switch it up a little bit.
Speaker: But, yeah, yeah, no, good pick.
Speaker: Hopefully it's a good game, Monday game.
Speaker: Staying consistent is what I told O'Leary.
Speaker: I hate the Monday game after a long weekend.
Speaker: He shot me down.
Speaker: He was very angry.
Speaker: I was talking about that during his night before the Wolves game.
Speaker: Very anxious for a game against Wolves.
Speaker: And he was right.
Speaker: He had every right to be because they stunk it up.
Speaker: Yeah, weird, weird energy from a guy the night before.
Speaker: You'd think he'd said he's celebrating it like Christmas and more like he was dreading it like it was a fucking exam to get into grad school.
Speaker: I don't care.
Speaker: I don't know what you got on the GRE, O'Leary, but what I can tell you now is it's not that fucking serious.
Speaker: It's wolves at home, tough guy.
Speaker: Wolves at home.
Speaker: And since you squeaked by that one, I can't wait to see.
Speaker: And I'll even come in here and talk that shit.
Speaker: Should you get your ass slapped by Tottenham?
Speaker: And we still lose to Newcastle.
Speaker: I don't give a shit.
Speaker: I'm still going to go ahead and come in here and talk that cash because all I'm going to say is this is the beautiful thing.
Speaker: I got to take the damn clowner up again because I'm going to remind it.
Speaker: This is the thing about winning the motherfucking treble O'Leary.
Speaker: I dare you, should we take a hellacious humbling on Saturday, to come onto this fucking pod and say a single fucking word that we're done.
Speaker: I fucking dare you to come onto this pod and try to give us anything else other than they got beat, we'll see how the season ends, we know they'll be competing.
Speaker: That is what anyone needs to be saying about this fucking treble team.
Speaker: Count up to number 21.
Speaker: I just think Newcastle were primed to get them a little something.
Speaker: I think I might have just fucking talked myself into a loss, but you know what?
Speaker: 4-3 Newcastle, I'm sticking with it.
Speaker: Fuck it.
Speaker: Who's our goal scorers for the week?
Speaker: Just repeat them, and then we'll end this bitch.
Speaker: I'm going Matoma, Grealish, Martinelli, MGM.
Speaker: You are going Salah, Madison, and Kai, SMK.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: I like the initials.
Speaker: Sounds magical.
Speaker: Let's play a little game of around the world where we're going to look at some other figures.
Speaker: Inter-Miami.
Speaker: Messi's Inter-Miami.
Speaker: Six wins in a row for Lionel Messi.
Speaker: Inter-Miami playing in the U.S. No, the League Cup final Saturday at 9 p.m.
Speaker: bringing silverware to the city of Miami after six games.
Speaker: Is it happening this weekend, Saturday at nine, enter Miami at Nashville for the league's cup final, the new league's cup just implemented this year.
Speaker: What do you say?
Speaker: Nashville's pretty trash.
Speaker: Yeah, trash.
Speaker: That's Brian Matthew, everyone.
Speaker: Yeah, they're not very good.
Speaker: Messy cooks, messy scores.
Speaker: Scored in every game, so that's a safe bet.
Speaker: You're not really going out on a limb there, sir.
Speaker: Yeah, okay.
Speaker: I'll give you another one.
Speaker: I think he gets a Hattie.
Speaker: How about that?
Speaker: If he gets a Hattie in a League Cup final, it'll be, yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I think they win this.
Speaker: You are correct.
Speaker: Nashville is pretty bad.
Speaker: I think even when Miami was shit, I think they still beat them.
Speaker: But it's crazy.
Speaker: It's crazy.
Speaker: And it's not surprising.
Speaker: This is this is Lionel Messi who just won a World Cup.
Speaker: This isn't like 40 year old Messi.
Speaker: He just won a World Cup.
Speaker: He's still 35, 36.
Speaker: He's got some years in him.
Speaker: And he's going to we talked about it last week, the 16th ranked soccer league.
Speaker: So he's literally miles better than most of these guys.
Speaker: And he's taken them from a laughingstock of the MLS to now they're probably one of the best teams already.
Speaker: So I think they bring home the silverware.
Speaker: I'll be watching that at 9 p.m.
Speaker: Nice little palate cleanser for the beautiful Saturday ahead.
Speaker: And yeah, that'll be fun.
Speaker: Let's go around the league a little bit more or around the world a little bit more.
Speaker: Siri kicks off.
Speaker: Oh, is it this weekend?
Speaker: Yes, it does.
Speaker: It kicks off this weekend.
Speaker: Defending champs Napoli.
Speaker: Are they going to win the league?
Speaker: Are they going to win the Serie A once again?
Speaker: That's how I feel about this fucking league and whoever takes down the fucking Scudetto.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm feeling the same.
Speaker: I think they do a double.
Speaker: I think Inter Milan's got a little weaker.
Speaker: They've had some outgoings.
Speaker: Nothing really incoming that's good.
Speaker: They got Skamaka, I believe.
Speaker: That was probably the good one.
Speaker: I think AC Milan lost to Nally, but brought in some decent players.
Speaker: I think if anybody takes it for them, it's AC Milan.
Speaker: Juventus, they're trash.
Speaker: Trash, trash team.
Speaker: Roma did some reloading as well.
Speaker: I know they got in Renato Sanchez and a few other players, so...
Speaker: That'll probably be in the Serie A. But yeah, I'm going.
Speaker: Napoli is going to win it.
Speaker: They kick it off this weekend against Frasinone Calcio.
Speaker: No idea who that is, but I'm expecting a big, big, big day for Veradona and Asherman.
Speaker: I predict that Fresh Unknown is going to get a fresh ass whooping in that first fucking game.
Speaker: I agree.
Speaker: I got definitely doing it.
Speaker: I will say I want to give a shout out to this club because I think nothing says quality football back like a good potential Roma fucking competition.
Speaker: Competitive team.
Speaker: Nothing says better to me like Roma being competitive, having some players.
Speaker: Jose, baby.
Speaker: I do it.
Speaker: Do it.
Speaker: I think they can do something.
Speaker: You know, follow the yellow state there.
Speaker: That's right, Josie.
Speaker: I mean, I rate him, obviously, with all the rivalries with Pep throughout the years.
Speaker: I think Roma might do something.
Speaker: It's the consistency of some of those players.
Speaker: They just lost to Nola, to Villa.
Speaker: So that's another thing.
Speaker: But, you know, nevertheless, I think they've put something together.
Speaker: They're going to compete.
Speaker: Yuvi and all the rest of them are definitely trash.
Speaker: But I got Napoli and Roma coming down for it for the Scudetto.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: They also brought in Endika, Jusumawar, Parades from PSG, and Renato Sanchez.
Speaker: So they brought in some hitters.
Speaker: They brought in some hitters.
Speaker: That midfield is looking decent.
Speaker: So could be a good one for Roma.
Speaker: I'll be checking into the Siri sometimes.
Speaker: Let's go over to the Bundesliga where Harry Kane will be making his debut.
Speaker: That's right.
Speaker: With Bayern Munich after a disappointment last week.
Speaker: This isn't a home debut for Bayern, but it is his Bundesliga debut.
Speaker: Over, under.
Speaker: Now they're playing SV Werder.
Speaker: Over, under one and a half goals for Harry Kane.
Speaker: Go.
Speaker: Oh, off the top of my head, I'm going to obviously, obviously go over.
Speaker: That's Lee Werder.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think it's a minimum five goal game.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Let's see how they finished last year.
Speaker: This team.
Speaker: They're probably a promoted team, to be honest.
Speaker: They are.
Speaker: No, no, they finished 13th last year.
Speaker: They finished 13th, 36 points.
Speaker: They finished technically 10 wins, 6 draws, 18 losses.
Speaker: A negative goal differential.
Speaker: 18 losses.
Speaker: Negative goal differential of 13.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So, yeah.
Speaker: They'll be under the gun this weekend.
Speaker: Yeah, I think that's an easy over.
Speaker: It's going to be a lovely, lovely Bayern Munich Bundesliga debut for Harry Kane.
Speaker: And we'll wrap up this Around the World segment with Barcelona.
Speaker: Barcelona, very, very terrible, shameful victory last week.
Speaker: We watched the game a little bit, trying to figure out our YouTube channel, which will be up shortly.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: It really looked terrible, absolutely terrible.
Speaker: They get the draw last week, but Xavi, Xavi, Xavi, Xavi.
Speaker: Over, under.
Speaker: Xavi as Barcelona manager.
Speaker: And I'm going to put the date December 1st.
Speaker: Will he be over?
Speaker: Will he last as Barcelona manager?
Speaker: Over.
Speaker: And in fact, we can hold the prop bet not only for over, but over until the following year as well.
Speaker: Xavi is not going.
Speaker: They're riding with him?
Speaker: They're riding with him.
Speaker: I don't like the way they play.
Speaker: Not only that.
Speaker: I'll give you this.
Speaker: And I'm giving you that date because Champions League is
Speaker: Another flop from Barcelona.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: They go back to the Europa League, which is possible.
Speaker: It is.
Speaker: It is.
Speaker: They're in a pot one because they won La Liga last year.
Speaker: Very possible.
Speaker: They could get Newcastle in their group.
Speaker: They can get a Newcastle, a Newcastle.
Speaker: Who else would be in there?
Speaker: Let's look at these.
Speaker: You sent me the pots the other day.
Speaker: This is the perfect time to look at it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm not just going to speculate here.
Speaker: Let me get the factual information.
Speaker: And how does it work with pot one can beat a pot two?
Speaker: Yeah, so they can't get Real Madrid, but they can get like an Arsenal AC Milan.
Speaker: I wouldn't want that, but they could do that.
Speaker: You know, they're in pot one.
Speaker: This is a realistic pot for them.
Speaker: Barcelona can get Inter Milan, Newcastle, and...
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Let's throw in Salzburg.
Speaker: Tough pot.
Speaker: Tough pot.
Speaker: They could do that.
Speaker: That could happen.
Speaker: And they could be right out of there.
Speaker: Newcastle and Inter Milan could easily advance.
Speaker: We know Inter Milan's been very good in Europe.
Speaker: I believe they knocked him out last year as well.
Speaker: So, yeah.
Speaker: I mean, if he doesn't do well in Champions League again this year, I think he's on the hot seat.
Speaker: I wish I probably wish it was correct solely because he's a club legend is giving him a little more rope and and that but but here's the thing about this and we know we know you maybe you know certain clubs in the Premier League can speak to having you know aging players who did great for them and then took him the major managerial roles and bailed on too late.
Speaker: Looking at a Chelsea.
Speaker: But, you know, hey, I don't know.
Speaker: Maybe some Premier Leagues can speak to this.
Speaker: I don't see them bailing on Xavi because I truly believe, man, they think that his tactics are there.
Speaker: He's just going to need the right players.
Speaker: I think they – I just don't see it.
Speaker: I just don't see it.
Speaker: But you are spot on with them needing to produce in Champions League this year because –
Speaker: La Liga is going to have a hard time defending this club for all of the benefits that they get with these add-ons and how they can get certain players taken down from youth club to count on a roster space.
Speaker: There are some things that happen there that O'Leary is a big fan of and okay with.
Speaker: But if other clubs were to do it, it'd be pretty laughable and we'd be wondering what the fuck's up.
Speaker: And I think time has come for them to kind of perform with some of the key players that they're holding on to, right?
Speaker: I'm looking at the Zhang.
Speaker: I'm looking at Rafinha.
Speaker: I'm looking at the fact that you went out and got a Lewandowski and you really focused on a Gundogan, on a free game.
Speaker: They got to perform.
Speaker: La Liga is not enough for them.
Speaker: Let's say that.
Speaker: Let's be real.
Speaker: Winning a La Liga title, they just did that.
Speaker: And here we are.
Speaker: Europa last year.
Speaker: You weren't able to kind of do two and one.
Speaker: So that's that next level.
Speaker: Hatsito.
Speaker: I'd be interested to see.
Speaker: I'd be interested.
Speaker: I would love it.
Speaker: I would personally love it.
Speaker: Here's another group they can draw.
Speaker: Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund.
Speaker: Newcastle and AC Milan.
Speaker: That'd be a tough one.
Speaker: They could really get fucked over in these groups here.
Speaker: You know, other teams can as well, but I just think at some point he can't just, he can't just be the relegated team to Europa League at
Speaker: year in and year out.
Speaker: That would be three years in a row.
Speaker: That can't be accepted.
Speaker: And the thing is, Barcelona is not in the financial situation to go, hey, we're just going to go and get you all your players next year.
Speaker: They can't.
Speaker: And I don't think they're doing a good job of kind of building it up.
Speaker: It's kind of a scattergun approach.
Speaker: So they might be doing, the board might be doing him a disservice as well.
Speaker: But I just, I watched the ball they play and it's just, it's not that good.
Speaker: It really isn't.
Speaker: They were terrible last week.
Speaker: They've been bad.
Speaker: You know what he's doing?
Speaker: And just kind of reinforce that real quick.
Speaker: I've been really bothered to see what he's been doing with Araraju.
Speaker: You know, that Araraju is really, really good.
Speaker: The center back, Ronald Arrujo, he is really, really fucking good.
Speaker: And
Speaker: I just think he's botching it a little bit.
Speaker: Barcelona having some moments where the talent, I'm kind of scratching my head, man.
Speaker: The talent is there.
Speaker: To a certain degree, the talent is there.
Speaker: You can't tell me you have a worry in midfield with Dijon and Gundogan and the notion that you can bring in.
Speaker: Gavi and Pedri.
Speaker: You can't tell me you have a concern at winger when you just got yourself a situation where Rafinha is not worried about playing time.
Speaker: I think that is the concern, though.
Speaker: Refinha has been terrible.
Speaker: That needs to be talked about more.
Speaker: That has been an absolute flop.
Speaker: He's been bad.
Speaker: And I think Barca fans are done with him from what I'm seeing.
Speaker: And the last thing on him real quick, he turned down Premier League return to stay at Barcelona.
Speaker: He didn't want to leave, so it's not going to be easy to dump him off.
Speaker: Well, you know, why don't you quickly shout out a quick little young man you've been keeping an eye on that seems to be something that, I mean, he's getting some burn right now.
Speaker: And I'm kind of wondering.
Speaker: I got to look up his name, but yeah, he's a baller.
Speaker: And he got some time last week in the first week of La Liga.
Speaker: So that was impressive.
Speaker: I mean, just to kind of give everyone a perspective, as Brian has looked this up, this particular 16-year-old,
Speaker: His just diversity to be able to cover that wing position where he started and then cover the midfield.
Speaker: And then defensively, I saw moments where they were a corner and he was playing that next right pass and getting in between the lines and cutting that pass off, getting it up to a run.
Speaker: And I just saw some really, real, real brilliant moments out of this kid.
Speaker: So go on, talk to him.
Speaker: Lamine Yamal.
Speaker: Definitely one to keep an eye on.
Speaker: Barcelona, if there's one good thing, one thing they're good at is finding these teenage wonder kids and putting them on their team, implementing them.
Speaker: They've done it recently with Ansu Fati, Pedri, Gavi,
Speaker: And Luminum, Luminum, you know, looks like the next one.
Speaker: They're playing him in serious minutes.
Speaker: I saw him in preseason against Tottenham.
Speaker: He ripped them up.
Speaker: And last week he plays about 20 minutes in the first La Liga campaign.
Speaker: So definitely want to watch out.
Speaker: He looks legit.
Speaker: Scary, scary good.
Speaker: 15 years old.
Speaker: 15 years old.
Speaker: Made his debut.
Speaker: So.
Speaker: Yeah, it's going to be interesting, but I think Rafinha is part of the problem.
Speaker: I think that attack is pretty shit at times, and they were expecting a lot more.
Speaker: They paid good money for him.
Speaker: It was around $65, $70 million, and he's done absolutely nothing.
Speaker: He's done absolutely nothing for Barcelona.
Speaker: He's very, very wasteful, clumsy in possession, and I think they were expecting more from him, and this was a player Arsenal was linked with.
Speaker: So, yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I mean, you've said it before.
Speaker: Mikel's the winger whisperer.
Speaker: So maybe he would have been better off coming to Arsenal because, yeah, I think he's part of the problem.
Speaker: And Lewandowski, he's starting to show his age a little bit, right?
Speaker: Are you seeing that as well?
Speaker: I mean, he's there.
Speaker: That goal-sniffing ability is there.
Speaker: The problem is those legs aren't letting him get to the position.
Speaker: He's really slow to it.
Speaker: He's not getting to that second, third ball that he used to under Byron that he was there early on, just even last year.
Speaker: It really seems to take kind of a –
Speaker: a narrow turn with that pace, with that mobility for him, that lateral movement in the box really has been kind of bad for me lately to see.
Speaker: I pose a question to you with a manager that has a whispering winger ability.
Speaker: You know, we've been rumored with this particular player out of Barcelona.
Speaker: Has played the right.
Speaker: Would you be okay with an Ansu Fati backing up Saka?
Speaker: You speak to getting this guy's depth.
Speaker: Is Ansu at 21 years old the answer for you?
Speaker: There's two problems.
Speaker: I would love to have him.
Speaker: There's two problems.
Speaker: Barcelona is going to ask for an arm and a leg for him.
Speaker: And I just don't think we're going to pay like crazy, crazy money with the amount of money we spent.
Speaker: I think they're going to ask for a lot for him.
Speaker: The second problem is the guy has a pretty extensive injury history for a youngster.
Speaker: And as you state injuries, you don't, you don't, you don't have less injuries as you get older.
Speaker: He's still young, but I would say he's missed a lot of games.
Speaker: I forget what it was.
Speaker: I was looking it up the other day, but yeah,
Speaker: Since he came into first team football a couple years ago, he's been injured a lot.
Speaker: And I'm just very, very skeptical of putting up big money for somebody with an injury history.
Speaker: When we're already dealing with Jesus out, we're dealing with Timber out for seven months, which got confirmed this week that I forgot to mention, which sucks.
Speaker: Get well, Timber.
Speaker: Look like a promising, promising player.
Speaker: Yeah, for sure.
Speaker: Get well.
Speaker: Hopefully we'll have you back in seven months to lift a trophy or something.
Speaker: That'd be nice.
Speaker: But yeah, I would like him, but I just don't think it's a it's a realistic deal for Arsenal.
Speaker: Yeah, I don't disagree with the whole injury thing.
Speaker: That's the thing that alarms me as well.
Speaker: The other thing that bothers me, this is a situation where I'll say it.
Speaker: I rated that guy, Brie Viego, real early on into the window.
Speaker: I thought that was going to be a guy where people really jumped on and no one ended up coming for.
Speaker: I see guys like Ryan Gravenberch years now.
Speaker: Linked.
Speaker: Everyone's linked.
Speaker: Linked FC with Ryan Gravenberch.
Speaker: LinkedIn.
Speaker: No one goes and snags him.
Speaker: I'm asking the same question of Ransou Fati.
Speaker: There's been opportunities now where Barcelona have had to sell.
Speaker: You're not wrong.
Speaker: They're going to ask for an arm and a leg.
Speaker: But let me just stand on 10 toes right now and tell you, my good sir,
Speaker: When Barcelona gets the name and the reputation and the recognition for doing due diligence and paying their bills on time, that's when I'll go ahead and start to worry about what fucking asking amount they have.
Speaker: Because with Arsenal being the club that they are and the spending that they've done, I'd imagine that you walk away with them when they tell you, 85, he's young, he's great.
Speaker: And you tell them, 45 cash today.
Speaker: They're willing to go ahead and make moves.
Speaker: That's the thing about a fraud Salona right now and the soulless club that's coming out.
Speaker: I hear a lot about tin pot this and tin pot that about City.
Speaker: No soul bought their way and shit like that.
Speaker: What are Barcelona currently doing right now?
Speaker: They are selling their soul and selling their profits of tomorrow for today's riches because of their own misfortune while turning their back on some of the greatest players that have ever played, not only for their club, but for the entire world.
Speaker: And you want to talk about Tin Pot Club?
Speaker: We don't look at them any differently.
Speaker: It is shameful the shit that they've been able to pull off and get away with, only because the league got benefits.
Speaker: And speaking of La Liga and Javier Deves, Mr. opens his fucking mouth after Sevilla losing the Super Cup and saying that, what a great... What a fucking douchebag, dude.
Speaker: For him to come out and have the audacity to note that Sevilla built on good recruitment and ability and all this and that, and then essentially saying, oh, and to compete and take it to that end of the type of game against City...
Speaker: With that type of club of waste and just endless care.
Speaker: Fuck off, dude.
Speaker: Absolutely.
Speaker: Bitter, bitter asshole.
Speaker: Bitter, bitter man.
Speaker: Bitter, bitter man.
Speaker: Talks of just complete craziness.
Speaker: I hope that that league burns down.
Speaker: I hope Barcelona continues to fail.
Speaker: It's just shameful shit.
Speaker: Shameful, shameful, shameful, shameful.
Speaker: But that's our segment going around the world to the other leagues.
Speaker: Now let's end it with our FPL team.
Speaker: We have to make some adjustments.
Speaker: Tyrone Mings out for the season.
Speaker: I have to find out how you drop on this because I can't fucking figure it out.
Speaker: But I benched him.
Speaker: I put in Levi Cowell and Ollie Watkins.
Speaker: Ollie, not who you named your son after, but Mr. Ollie Watkins himself is on the bench and we have to get Alexander Isak in there, baby.
Speaker: 100%.
Speaker: And for me, he's a steady starter until Ollie starts banging in goals again.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I'm actually – Do you agree with that?
Speaker: Oh, 2,000%.
Speaker: You got to back that.
Speaker: Not only do you have to back that, but you have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with either of us for not picking Isaac to score this weekend.
Speaker: City's defense looking shaky.
Speaker: Oh, fuck, yeah, with none of us.
Speaker: He would have been perfect to pick.
Speaker: I mean, I'm not doing it because fuck them.
Speaker: They're playing us.
Speaker: But, I mean, he's bound the score.
Speaker: I mean, he's going to keep it going.
Speaker: Fuck it.
Speaker: I'll say it.
Speaker: He looks prime for a golden boot race.
Speaker: He's good.
Speaker: It looks prime to be able to get those finishing and execution moments.
Speaker: So, I mean, yeah, we'll, we'll see, but fuck.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's, he's got to, he's got to start for us.
Speaker: He's going to play well.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So that's how we're going to do it.
Speaker: And, um,
Speaker: Yeah, it should be a good weekend.
Speaker: It should be a very fun one.
Speaker: Action from all around the leagues, but the best action, of course, in the Premier League this weekend.
Speaker: Week number two in the books, episode 70 in the books.
Speaker: Anything else you want to talk about before we get out of here?
Speaker: No, let's have a good weekend.
Speaker: I'm ready to sit down and watch ball nonstop.
Speaker: 100%.
Speaker: Let's do that.
Speaker: Let's sit down and watch ball till we fall.
Speaker: Episode 70 in the books.
Speaker: We out.
Speaker: Peace.
Speaker: Peace.
