Indie Toy Kickstarter Updates

Let's kick off this edition of AIC News by checking in on some popular indie toy Kickstarter campaigns. Featured on last week's episode of the pod, Monstores is closing in on funding. With just under $12,000 to go and 11 days left on the campaign, it's looking good for Dave Igo and team.

Series two of nine to five warriors launched last week and with 26 days to go has already cleared a third of its funding. Finally, wandering planet toys, one 12 scale Laurel and hardy figures have succeeded their funding goals, meaning Stan and Ollie are coming to your shelves in the future.

New York Comic Con Previews

New York Comic Con is just a few weeks away and the exclusives are coming in hot. Neko will be bringing with them a glow-in-the-dark Ben Cooper Halloween kid, Remco-inspired glow-in-the-dark Invisible Man, and Kevin Eastman from his uncredited cameo in as a New York City garbage man from the 1990 Ninja Turtles film.

Moving on to Bandai, they will have a special SH Figure Arts Event exclusive edition of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegito, and the folks at Mondo are bringing a set of four Sofubi Black and White Ninja Turtles. New York Comic Con will take place on October 17th through the 20th at the Javits Center, and we will be there with full coverage of the event.

New Pre-orders: Beetlejuice & Optimus Prime

Lastly, two very fun pre-orders you might have missed as they kind of slipped under the radar. The Bondi Tamashi Nation's SH Figure Arts Beetlejuice is up at Entertainment Earth for $95. He comes with a bunch of heads, including a shrunken one, as well as the Beetlejuice sign and a tombstone, and the 40th anniversary G1 Optimus Prime on retro packaging.

Army of Darkness Retro Figures

Friend of the pod zombie seller wants you to fire up your Oldsmobile Delta 88 and go back to the medieval era this Halloween.

He's ready to release a new line of retro figures representing the classic Sam Raimi film, Army of Darkness. The first announced figure in the lineup, of course, is Ash Williams. The entire lineup is coming soon.

Star Wars & Brody Lee Figure Releases

This week, the Jazzwares vault reopened with three new releases. Two of the releases add to the Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron.

First, you can get the entire run of the Series 5 Starfighter Class ships for $100. This includes the Chase and Rare ships in the series. This month's second release is the V-19 Torrid Starfighter. This individual release is $30. Finally, the last release of the month is the next figure in the Ring of Honor line. It honors the legendary Brody Lee.
