Speaker: And on today's episode, we're diving into the grandest stage of all, Wrestlemania, which is actually happening this weekend. So make sure you are watching April 19th and 20th on Peacock.
Speaker: I can't believe it's already Wrestlemania season. What the hell? and yeah youre just start ah It feels like it. Just breezing through.
Speaker: Exactly. You know, it was a wrestling weekend for us, as it usually is. I feel like every time we do an episode, we're like, oh, it was a wrestling weekend. and You know, we went to SOS as we live there now.
Speaker: We live there.
Speaker: It's not our fault. It's theirs. Yeah. What the heck? How dare they be so welcoming to the queens? Exactly. How dare they listen to the queens and hang out with them? Period. and And then we also went to Peak Sports Entertainment. Yeah. And I feel like that's slowly becoming another another home.
Speaker: I think this is our second time going. We're not going next month, though, because we got two SOS shows. And stuff to do for the podcast. But ah we'll be back.
Speaker: We will be back. And well, it's okay. Okay, now we just gotta be not wear ourselves out. We gotta space some stuff up. We have a busy April.
Speaker: i feel like we said briefly last episode, you know, we had this weekend two wrestling shows recording. that's like three days. And then a surprise. And then a ah
Speaker: and And then next weekend, it's WrestleMania weekend. We'll be together. we're We'll be together already, but it's going to be crazy.
Speaker: We're going to be tired as hell. And speaking of the weekend of WrestleMania, yeah we're days away. let's kind of dig in and talk about the lineup.
Speaker: For WrestleMania, we are stacked this year with over 10 matches. In two days. Like, because I, ah what? What am I supposed to do? I got work on Monday, sirs.
Speaker: But, I mean, i the show's starting at 4 for us, I believe. Yeah, think so. hopefully it's not too long. As I said, think we got work in the morning on Monday. You got to go to bed.
Speaker: You got to get my sleep. I saw a report that said the pre-show, the show itself, and the after show is going total nine hours. And I said, its sure the fuck is not for me. i don't I'll just be there for the show. I ain't pre and post not.
Speaker: I don't really ever watch the pre and post show. I don't watch the pre show because I know what's going on. Yeah. I don't watch the, yeah, I don't really watch the post shows either. So just going to watch the show because it's already a thousand things happening. Which I know like sometimes after watch it, it'll just be playing. It'll be playing, but.
Speaker: Yeah. So let's start with a few of the matches. We've got Rio Ripley versus Eoskai versus Bianca Belair for the Women's World Championships.
Speaker: And then we have Roman Reigns versus Seth Rollins versus CM Punk. i I know that not all the time the winner of the Royal Rumbles match is the main event, but it's crazy as hell to me personally that out of the women's and the men's matches for belts, for the high high top belts, besides Jocelyn and Cody Rhodes, who are main eventing the second day,
Speaker: that roman versus seth versus cm punk is main eventing yeah like i get it but also like come come on now like put respect all people bro yeah that's crazy know i feel like they should do like one woman main event on one day and one man and just save it like that because clearly the women can main event yeah chris
Speaker: And then we got Naomi versus Jade Cargo, which I am so excited to see. I am so happy at the change in character.
Speaker: The heel Naomi. She is killing those promos. the va First of all, why she got razor blades all up in her head. That's that Florida stuff. so I'm telling you. Razor blades all up in her head.
Speaker: But I cannot wait for that. I really hope Naomi wins. no And I hope that they go on to push her. Like, she can be champion. Clearly, she's got the fan support.
Speaker: So, let her win. Heal, not heal. She got their support. So, come on now. But then we have Damien Preeze versus Drew McIntyre. And this was just changed to a street fight.
Speaker: So at the beginning, it was just a normal match, which I feel like most of these are, besides being triple threat. I just said quadruple threat.
Speaker: Fatal forward. um But they just changed this to quadruple threat. A street fight. And I said, are they going to be wearing jeans?
Speaker: Okay. Okay.

Speaker: they got me whatever and Oh, wait. i Just looking at your shirt, she's wearing a wrestling shirt. She's wearing a Shotzi. But just looking at it, you know the Queen's going to be rocking their wrestling tees. And is, okay Okay. I will be wearing my Jey Uso one night.
Speaker: don't know what I'm going to wear the next night, though. i don't know either, but I know one of them is the original tribal cheats. And I think they're on the first day.

Speaker: You know, I was going say. Give that man everything he deserves. Period. Period. Then, we have Dominique Mysterio versus Finn Balor, right? Yeah. Okay.
Speaker: Dominique Mysterio versus Finn Balor versus Penta, then Bond Breaker for the Intercontinental Championship. You know what?
Speaker: going say it. hope Dominique wins. Oh, I was not expecting that. I hope Dominique wins. And here's why. First of all, Yeah, we hate Dominic Mysterio. Who doesn't?
Speaker: But didn't we all hate the Miz? Yeah. Dominic Mysterio, he don't... He just fell into the role of being the biggest heel. Okay? He can't even speak.
Speaker: Yeah. We all boo in that band. And I feel like if he wins, it's gonna cause some tension. and it's gonna break up the Judgment Day, which is what I've been wanting for... what we Since I was about two years old.

Speaker: Saying, you know, bringing up her past marriages. That's low. I mean, well. But, I mean. But I want to know, like, what triggered her to go off script and say that. Yeah. Like, clearly you said something or did something or whatever. Not clearly, but there's a lot of stories of, like, not being a team player or not.
Speaker: being kind or whatever. There's stories that she's not even sharing the locker room with the women. So there's all these stories and all of them have something fun in common. it's Charlotte.
Speaker: So, I mean, were saying about CM Punk that, oh, he's he's in all these bad stories, blah, blah, blah. So it must be him. So that's all saying.
Speaker: I guess we'll see how that turns out. cause i mean see I mean, it's going to be a good match. It is. Because everybody wanted them to have a match, but now that they're having the match, y'all complaining. Exactly. Like, if if the belt wasn't involved, y'all wouldn't be complaining. But Tiffany won the belt. Yeah.
Speaker: So you got what you wanted in this match, but y'all complaining about it. They don't want her to lose. Which I don't know. um To be honest, know which lady. don't think she's going to win, actually.

You could have just done it anywhere else, as you have been doing. So, why are we doing this match at WrestleMania? Definitely could have been Montez, their tag team on the line. Like, their belt on the line. It's WrestleMania. Why aren't they on here?

Speaker: Then we have Jey Uso... versus Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. You already know who we want to win. Yeet. A yeet.
Speaker: but Okay. Yeah, we want Jay to win. And, know, at times, I feel like the the segments are a little slow, little shaky. But the last one when Big Jay had to come out and let Gunther know that he gonna pray for him.
Speaker: He gonna ask God to forgive him. He gonna beat your ass. Period. and yeah she's saying well We know what they don't play about is family. Exactly. They ain't never play about family. So you done woken up a beast.
Speaker: Okay. I'm hoping that Jay wins. Me too. So, haters swivel. deserves it. So I don't want hear none of y'all say nothing. Yeah, he definitely deserves it.
Speaker: So you can swivel if you don't believe so. Get back. so Exactly. And then we have the New Day versus the War Raiders for the World Tag Team titles.
Speaker: Another one I don't need on here. I don't care. I truly ah don't care. Nope. Wait, I saw a post.
Speaker: It was like saying who was in evolve involved in this match, right? And instead of x Xavier Woods and Kofi's pictures, they put Montez Ford and Dawkins.
Speaker: That might seem a little random.
Speaker: That's mad crazy. I'm like, hold on. And Xavier and Kofi replied saying, y'all are very disrespectful. And once they win the titles, it's a new day. um I don't know. i mean, hi there I also forget that even the War Raiders have the tag team titles. I forget a lot of people over on Raw have titles, to be honest.
Speaker: But, you know, who knows? Maybe the New Day will grab the belts and start a new evil thing going on. I don't know. Maybe.
Speaker: I'm sure they will. So lastly, Liv and Bayley and Liv and Valkyria for the women's tag team title. For what? This feels like a last ditch effort to just put the tag team titles.
Speaker: Bayley and Lear are not even a tag team, bro. so we know They're not a duo. yeah So I don't need you to give them the belts. Like, you could have put Shayna and What's-Her-Face. They're ah like actually a tag team.
Speaker: And I saw them post on X about how frustrated they are because they're legitimately a duo. Yeah. And you're just putting people together. that Like, didn't they just fight for the belt? why They did.
Speaker: that I find it like so annoying when they do that. like Instead of like creating and nurturing a legitimate tag team for people, they just put two people together and then, okay, now they're attacking.
Speaker: It's like y'all don't take the women's tag team division seriously. You be flip-flopping everybody. Exactly. Crazy. Don't do that. Don't do that.
Speaker: So what is WrestleMania? WrestleMania. Wrestlemania is a global spectacle that happens once a year in the wrestling community. It is, as we said, the grandest stage of them all.
Speaker: And is. I would say every wrestler's dream to get to and headline. The Super Bowl of Wrestling, it is typically held in the United States. Cities bid on the program every year as it brings so much attraction.
Speaker: WrestleMania is known for showcasing epic matches, elevating superstars to iconic status, and creating unforgettable moments. Where did WrestleMania come from? The very first WrestleMania happened in 1985 at Madison Square Garden, created by he who shall not be named.
Speaker: He had a vision, and with that vision, he took a risk that changed wrestling and how we perceive it forever. he did. we will give One thing about that crusty he sometimes has good ideas.
Speaker: yeah But he's also crusty. and We don't deal with that. So let's kind of talk about some iconic WrestleMania moments. For those who have watched every WrestleMania, we will love wrestling.
Speaker: And we're just refreshing for you. For those who have just started watching wrestling, we're giving you maybe some places to start. yeah go watch these things go enjoy them go watch them so my first iconic moment is Bianca Belair versus Sasha Banks why did Bianca Belair versus Sasha Banks main eventing Wrestlemania 37. They actually main evented night one of Wrestlemania 37. So Belair versus Banks is only the second women's main main event at Wrestlemania as the first ever all black all in a match to head Wrestlemania.
Speaker: So that was a powerful symbol of progress and representation in an industry that has often been criticized for its lack of diversity which we've talked about before in past episodes.
Speaker: It also highlighted the evolution of women's wrestling being capable of headlining the biggest stage in sports entertainment as their male counterparts. It was a powerful emotional moment that proved how far women's wrestling had come, cementing it as a major force in the industry. Twas-a-fi match.
Speaker: She said twas. Twas-a-fi. That's a Carrie thing. I thought I'd just add that in there and say that. Twas. That match showcased the athleticism, charisma, and skill of both women who brought a unique blend of high-flying action and storytelling that evoked so much emotion.
Speaker: Sasha at the time was a seasoned veteran and Bianca was a rock ah rising star at that time as well. Perfectly complemented each other, delivering in an unforgettable main event that not only captivated the audience, but also solidified their place in WWE history.
Speaker: So one major thing that I remember from the match is Bianca pressing Sasha over her head and like walking up the step. A beast she is. like that just That just proves it. So Bianca did defeat Sasha Banks, marking her first title in her career. This moment even won Espy Award for being the best w WWE moment, as they should.
Speaker: then, you know, when she ah whipped her with her hair and everybody in the world heard that sound, and was like, what the fuck was that? I felt that, but it's great. No, the wound that she... I said...
Speaker: Oh my gosh. You immediately seen it. like It wasn't like, oh, after. No, it sure wasn't. Oh my God, that's crazy. That was memorable match.
Speaker: It was. So I'm going to take you guys back to 2006. so take it
Speaker: but we're going to talk about Edge versus Mick Foley in a hardcore match. So in 2006 at WrestleMania 22, a match became one of the most brutal and talked about bouts the WWE has ever put on at the grandest stage.
Speaker: This iconic moment slash match came to be because Edge felt like he was being overshadowed by Mick, who was the special guest referee in his match against John Cena at the Royal Rumble, proclamate.
Speaker: crier know at the royal rumble edge would lose and instead of getting it all the way together ah he chose to blame it and get it together edge please edge please this led to a hardcore match where the violence and creativity left the audience shocked there was barbed wire bat thumbtacks steel chairs stop signs and the iconic flaming table that Edge speared Foley through.
Speaker: This was truly WrestleMania moment where Edge got to prove he was more than just a pretty face. He legitimized himself as a main eventer who could go into the darkest parts of wrestling.
Speaker: And Foley finally got his WrestleMania moment. and

Speaker: But I wasn't trying to like yell into the mic.
Speaker: Okay, so my next one for the wrestling fans that have watched every single WrestleMania knows about this one. Okay. Seth Rollins cashing in the Money in the Bank, the heist of the century.
Speaker: He cashed the Money in the Bank during the main event to win the WWE wwe Championship. Roman Reigns and Brock Chesner... had just brutalized each other in the match for the WWE w World Heavyweight Championship.
Speaker: Roman was about to claim the victory against Brock when Rollins' music hit and the crowd went wild. Like, we had been in test anticipating Seth cashing in his money in the bank.
Speaker: So his music hit, crowd went crazy. He was running like... um was laughing at the way this man was running. He was running like he being chased. No, for real. So he ran out there. He stomped Brock.
Speaker: And this man got to lift him up to try and F5 him. Roman Reigns, Spirit Brock. Then Rollins stomped Reigns to win. The moment not only solidified Rollins as a top tier talent in WWE, but also cemented as one of the most thrilling and unexpected championship wins in the history of the company.
Speaker: A moment, like I said, literally nobody can forget if you were watching or live at the event. Yeah, that's crazy. That's a good cash-in. A successful cash-in.
Speaker: Okay, so my next one is going to be the first women's main event. WrestleMania 35 became a historic moment for women's wrestling. A triple threat match that held Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch would headline the night. Fighting in a winner-takes-all match for both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships,
Speaker: This wasn't just a milestone, it was the hard work of years of women in the WWE pushing boundaries and demanding the spotlight. The match was physical, intense, and not only helped pass a torch, but broke barriers.
Speaker: And though there is controversy about the ending, Becky Lynch would go on to roll up Ronda and get three count. walking out with both titles. This cemented Becky as a megastar. It proved that women could carry the biggest feud, the biggest story, and the biggest spotlight.
Speaker: After WrestleMania 35, women headlined more pay-per-views, got longer matches, and had deeper storylines. The match itself might not have been perfect, but the impact was game-changing.
Speaker: And kind of the controversy was that when Becky pinned Ronda... For the three count, Ronda's, both her shoulders weren't technically on the mat. But I was blind and they were on the mat.
Speaker: And so was the ref, clearly. that Which is fine by me. Exactly, because we got Becky too. We got Becky too. Becky. Becky, Becky. Becky. Becky.
Speaker: Becky, Becky. Why are we like this?
Speaker: So my last iconic moment is Kofi Mania. Mm-hmm. WrestleMania 35 as well. We had some memorable moments. WrestleMania 35 was up.
Speaker: It was made history as the first African born to win the WWE Championship.
Speaker: Finally achieving this moment after over a decade of hard work, determination, and overcoming countless obstacles. Originally placed in a last minute match for the title, faced off against Daniel Bryan in a match that had the entire WWE universe behind him.
Speaker: When Kofi got pinfall, the crowd went nuts as he marked a historic achievement for him and WWE. Kofi and the New Day expressed so much emotion. He even brought his family to the ring and celebrated.
Speaker: yeah Yes, I got teary-eyed, okay? Because I'm a baby. Because I'm a baby. The moment was an inspiring celebration of perseverance, representing not just Kofi's personal triumph, but also the power of never giving up on your dreams.
Speaker: That was a moment. like Even leading up to it was a moment. yeah You know, the New Day, Biggie and Woods had to do that ah tag team gauntlet. The Usos coming out, doing their little promo saying, okay, we forfeit.
Speaker: And then Kofi winning, them showing everyone backstage, cheering. but It was a moment. Black history moment. Period. No, for real. Because, like, you know it was long overdue.
Speaker: when how you see how crazy all the other stars went for him right what he won no definitely long overdue koki is definitely a workhorse um workhorse to main eventer bro we love it we love to see we love to see it so this final one's gonna piss me all the way off but that's fine let's talk about the undertaker streak being broken i'm already ready to fight yeah a moment that pissed me all the way off a moment that i thought would never come You know, I thought the streak was forever.
Speaker: Forever, ever. Until Untake dip, it was forever. But the day the streak died, you know, it still feels unreal. the Undertaker, one of wrestling's most iconic performers, had a twenty one in o streak at the grandest stage, not losing to any anyone.
Speaker: You know, it became iconic. And fans knew that every year, if he had a match, no matter who it was, they win They ain't gonna win. Clocky. But at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, the unthinkable happened, and that was Bork Cheddar.
Speaker: And no one was expecting the outcome. you know During that match, Chaker suffered a concussion yet continued, and Bork
Speaker: I literally never like to see it.
Speaker: Oh god. We're back. As I said, Borky Beans Burton hit him with the third F5 and got the pin. The arena was silent.
Speaker: I was shocked. And when the graphic changed to 21 and 1, I could not believe this was real life. ah Fans were pissed, in denial, confused.
Speaker: And this was definitely a WrestleMania moment that changed the wrestling world. No, it didn't. Like, what do you mean? And out of all people, why him? It wasn't like he needed to get over. Exactly. Y'all gonna piss You could have let somebody else do it.
Speaker: Somebody else or not at all. Or nobody. Just let it continue. Let it be great. Exactly. But whatever. You must disagree.

Speaker: yeah yo So, of course, we have honorable mentions. So, Austin passes out in the sharp shoulder in a pull of his blood after refusing to tap out at WrestleMania 13.
Speaker: But Lord, for what? You know, the first TLC match, the Hardys versus Edge and Christian versus the Deadly Boys and a whole lot of tables, ladders, and chairs at WrestleMania 17.
Speaker: The time was had. It was. Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth reunite at WrestleMania 7. We love love. We love it. We love girls. For life.

Speaker: No, this episode is so funny.
Speaker: Why are we like this right now? It's a Sunday.
Speaker: 12 o'clock. 12.22. Why are we like this? Shane McMahon's insanely performing his move coast to coast, drop kicking a trash can into he who shall not be named's crusty dusty face.
Speaker: WrestleMania 17. That whole match in general. Yeah. Like, Shane wowed me. Okay. Like, I knew he would, you know, take risks and stuff, but go ahead, do your thing. ain't mad.
Speaker: You know what? Because Shane McMahon getting money and y'all looking real fucking. Okay. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Speaker: Rey Mysterio wins the world title and honors Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania 22. one Yes. What a moment. So heartfelt.
Speaker: I loved it. you know what Charity said? Love a girls for long? Perth. You gotta do the accent. You can do that part. i was just gonna say love girls long. I wasn't even trying to do that part. It just out that way. It just came out.
Speaker: So we're gonna go into favorite entrances. There's just some of them. There's a thousand entrances. There's a thousand people. i you really We just have it named stuff. We just saying stuff. We just saying stuff.

Speaker: ah We watched Shinsuke Nakamura, WrestleMania 34, with the orchestra, drum players, guitarist Nina Strauss, Vibe. Yeah. ah yeah I used to play the violin.
Speaker: yeah. That's a fun fact. Did you know that? No. Oh. See, Carrie didn't even know. He had his secrets. Well, I love that one. i love orchestra. So that was, like, really nice and different.
Speaker: So I really liked his entrance. The Fiend, WrestleMania 37, coming out of the giant jack-in-the-box, and Alexa Bliss spinning the handle.
Speaker: Bianca Belair, Wrestlemania 38 with the Divas of Compton and marching in with a girl that lost her mother prior to coming to Wrestlemania. girl you little Girl, you strong as hell because I would not be there. Girl, so what was she like? Five? Right, she was but fetus. So I don't know.
Speaker: sorry girl. Not me, bro. I would not be there. Sorry, Bianca. Close to you. was like, nah, it's over. But for her to get that moment. Yeah. And she got the prance down with the ponytail.
Speaker: That was so cute. Triple H, WrestleMania 30, the Game of Thrones vibes with Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Alexa Bliss as part of the entrance. That was a vibe. It was. But you know, i was actually, i didn't realize that it was them ohio ah wait a second is that sa so I was about to say something, but didn't. But I feel like Triple H has always done really good at those ones.
Speaker: The one where him and Stephanie rode down motorcycles. He has really good ones. Yeah, I was going to mention that one too, but that one was nice. And then Shawn Michaels wrestling at 25, him descending from the heavens in all white like an HPK angel.
Speaker: Come to face The Undertaker. You know, the match was iconic as well. A great entrance. Yeah, that was a good entrance. It was. Okay, now we're moving on to favorite returns.

Speaker: Quadruple match. Oh, my God.
Speaker: we ah Stone Cold WrestleMania 38. Stone Cold makes a surprising return after 20 years wrestle Kevin Owens in a false count anywhere match.
Speaker: All because Owens, as usual, ah ran his mouth shitting on Stone Cold. So this one was actually like Really nice. A good nice moment for me. My favorite one. Because I actually took D2 and Malia this WrestleMania.
Speaker: and so we were sitting on the side. Stonehenge came down there with his um four-wheeler and riding around. he came to that side. And the kids were going crazy. so that that was my very wonderful.
Speaker: I loved it. And the crowd. The electricity from the crowd. It was nice being in there. Yeah. Lastly... John Cena, WrestleMania 35, that's in 2019.
Speaker: He came back as a doctor of Thuganomics, interrupting Elias. It was a full nostalgia trip and totally unexpected. It was. I said John Chenna.

We got work he got jobs, guys. sorry. why i notice the We got to be up at the booty crack of dawn the next time. So we ain't so it's a one-night slumber party.
