Frustration with Social Media Links

00:00:02
Speaker
Today's affiliate sponsor is Solo.to. Nothing frustrates me more than taking the time to record videos for social media and saying, check the link up in my bio, only to realize that I forgot to update the link. I just keep thinking about all of those people who went to the page to look at my bio only to be disappointed.

Introduction to Solo.to

00:00:21

It's truly amazing. Gone are the days where I have to add each episode linked to my bio. I know that once it's published, it's everywhere. I can even get analytics on what clicks got the most pages, or pages got the most clicks. You know what I'm saying. If you need an example, check out my solo.to page linked in all of my social media bios, especially Instagram at DJTreesyTrees.

Speaker
What the pod? Happy Thursday and welcome back to What The Pod. I go by the name of DJ Treacy Tree Show, auntie's favorite DJ and now your fairy pod mother.
00:02:02
Speaker
Welcome to What The Pod, y'all. Thank y'all so much for coming back and hanging out with me again this Thursday. I got some great podcasts for you to check out. I got some pretty short ones too. One of them is pretty long, but it's a comedy podcast and it might be fun. So let's jump right into today's show.

Discussion on 'Girls Gotta Eat' Podcast

00:02:21
Speaker
Okay, so the first podcast I'm listening to today is called Girls Gotta Eat. I don't know these ladies. It was recommended to me by Spotify, which again, I don't really like just taking all of their recommendations, but lately they've been hitting this probably cause Spotify Rap have been out. You know, they just, they know me for real, for real. Now they done narrowed it down. So the podcast is called Girls Gotta Eat. And the specific podcast, let me read the episode. I mean, not the episode, but the podcast description. It says,
00:02:50
Speaker
Why do guys just want to F you once and then stalk your Instagram forever? Should you ditch the apps and meet people in the wild? Girl, first of all, the fact that people think that meeting people in real life is the wild. That's crazy. Like we animals. Oh my God.
00:03:06
Speaker
But you know what? I met my wife on social media. She kind of stalked me a little bit. Her and her friends stalked me a little bit, but only because they were trying to find me and they couldn't really nail me down. I was a, you know, and I'm really, really, really late with getting back to people. I mean, she was in my inbox for years, literally, because it's too many messages. I'm a DJ for everybody who knows. So it's like, I'm tired. I done been out playing music all night. It could be thousands of DMs in there from somebody like, this is a great song. You know, so anyway.
00:03:31
Speaker
How do you get over a breakup when you feel like you're gonna die? Oh man, this is gettin' deep. These are all the topics on Girls Gotta Eat, a comedy podcast about dating, sex, relationships co-hosted by Ashley Hasseltine and Raina Greenberg.
00:03:47
Speaker
Alright, I don't know these people from anywhere and maybe I've seen a comedy special or something, they faces kind of look familiar, but I can't really see it from there. But the episode specifically that I am listening to on this one is Are Your Dating Expectations Unrealistic featuring behavioral sciences and dating coach Logan Urie.
00:04:08
Speaker
I think the title got me because present day when people, when I'm looking and scrolling on the internet, I'm on TikTok, I'm looking at reels, I'm just, my wife's a relationship coach as well. So I kind of have an ear inside of what people doing for relationships and you know, trying to court and all of that. People expectations, be crazy. You want somebody to come to the table with everything already together? What the hell is the relationship gonna be about?
00:04:35
Speaker
How y'all going? What kind of hardships are y'all gonna overcome together? And I'm not saying that you get into a relationship with somebody and they make it a project and be like, I'm gonna fix them because you can't fix nobody, okay? Earlier this week, I was just talking about the only people that you can change is yourself.
00:04:50
Speaker
So I'm not saying get into it like that, but I just think that people's criteria for relationships these days is off the charts. It's astronomical because it's based on a lot of this social media crap. Will and Jada was everybody's, everybody wants to love Will and Jada. That was the standard for so long.
00:05:10
Speaker
And now we are getting privy to Will and Jada's relationship because Will done wrote a book and Jada got the Red Table Talk and now y'all done started the damn petition to get them to stop being interviewed, which is crazy. Y'all wanted to know so bad. You wanted that Will and Jada love so damn bad and now you see what it's like or see what it's been over the years and now y'all like, oh, that crazy. You crazy. You need to find somebody you can deal with on y'all. Anyway, I ain't gonna go off on no tangent on this.
00:05:37
Speaker
that deep into it, but let's read the episode description. Ever wonder what you're doing quote unquote wrong in dating?
00:05:46
Speaker
We are breaking it down in this eye-opening episode with behavioral scientist dating coach and author Logan Urie. We're discussing the three types of unrealistic daters and how to combat the tendencies that are working against you, how to pick a long-term partner, if you are too picky or not picky enough, and what you should and shouldn't compromise on. We're also discussing best practices for the apps.
00:06:09
Speaker
That's a good thing, I guess, cause I ain't never really dated on an app like Tinder or something like that. A scientific strategy for meeting people in real life and why you should almost always go on a second date. Okay, see, I can agree with that because actually, you know, sometimes I think I went on a couple first dates and then I stopped.
00:06:28
Speaker
I don't know, but you should give people another chance. I think everybody be nervous a little bit at the first time. If you feeling them, you feeling a little energy, you can go on the second day. Before Logan joined us, we're chatting about breakup a season, still being a full effect. Scaring your partners friends.
00:06:46
Speaker
Fresh Rex and more. See, you gotta listen to know what all this lingo jargon is here. But this seems like a pretty funny show, just from how they're framing it. And I'm glad they got an expert on here, so they just not giving us, they, you know, they take care. So give these girls a chance. Girls gotta eat. Are you dating, are your dating expectations? Unrealistic feature of behavior science and dating coach Logan Curry. The link is of course below in my show notes.

Exploration of 'Crash Course Black American History'

00:07:14
Speaker
All right, the second podcast that I'm listening to today comes to us. It's a little bit more of history. It's called Crash Course of Black American History. Podcasts have really been changing the world. You can hear different perspectives from all over. I love the fact that there's a little Black History podcast. There's a lot that I don't know about Black History or that hasn't really been cataloged through time and you kind of don't go back because if you really didn't learn it in school, you got to really passionately go chase that information after that, right?
00:07:44
Speaker
Let's read the podcast description. It says, new episode every Friday. Over the course of 50 episodes, we're going to learn about black history.
00:07:54
Speaker
Black American History, Clint Smith will teach you about the experience of black people in America from the arrival of the first enslaved black people who arrived at Jamestown all the way through the Black Lives Matter movement. Wow, so he's taking us all the way through. They on episode 15 right now and it's linked to my bio and it's the Underground Railroad Crash Course on Black American History number 15.
00:08:16
Speaker
Let's read the description of this one. I know a little bit about the Underground Railroad, a fair amount, you know, Harriet Tubman, different cities who had major Underground Railroad impact, how the pathways went, how, you know, where they went to Canada, the different, the different safe places that they had, but I haven't really took a deep dive in it. That's why I'm looking at, listen to this one.
00:08:40
Speaker
Episode description reads, Escape was one of the many ways that enslaved people resisted their captivity in the system of American slavery. The Underground Railroad was not literally a railroad. It was a network of people, routes, and safe houses that helped people escape from slavery in the South to the freedom of the North. Today we'll talk about the origins of the Underground Railroad, the systems that helped people escape, and the people who helped them along the route. I think this is awesome.
00:09:06
Speaker
History that needs to be cataloged over

Examining 'Conspiracy Theories' Podcast

00:09:09
Speaker
time. So y'all definitely check out the crash course of black American history Last podcast I'm checking into today is conspiracy theories. That's the name of it. I'm into conspiracy theories I always think that if somebody came up with the idea there has to be a chance give it a chance Listen to it, you know, I'm not I'm not problem-solving person. Some people are just too skeptical to be
00:09:34
Speaker
into conspiracy theories. I'm a healthy amount of skeptical. Like I believe that mermaids are real because it's so much ocean. Y'all ain't there. Y'all don't know. It could be some people down there. Atlantis, the little mermaid, all these people came up with these ideas as well as like cave drawings that depict half person, half fish. You know, Pangea, the land bridge. It could have, them people could have adapted adaptation. I don't know. This one that I'm listening to is about the pyramids in ancient Egypt.
00:10:03
Speaker
This is a huge conspiracy theory. I've watched so many documentaries on this. I want to hear this take because my newest one that I'm on, and y'all might not even be there with me, is aliens, okay? I think that the Egyptian people back then actually had contact with aliens because a lot of the drawings and stuff is advanced technology that we don't understand today, still presently.
00:10:27
Speaker
They don't know how to hear me. It was was a bill. I watched this comedy special with Eddie Griffith. He was talking about aqueducts and shooting water through and lifting whatever it was. The pyramids were built by slaves with the manmade power that we got out there. You think that you can reproduce. They can't even reproduce it. It's mathematically correct.
00:10:47
Speaker
to the nth degree, you know? So give this one a chance. It says the great pyramids of Giza are some of the largest most foreboding structures on the planet. But the mystery of how they were built still plagues historians today. Some Egyptians think aliens provided advanced technology. That's what I'm saying. I seen a little thing. The man look like he was on a little rocket. I don't know what show that was. I'm gonna try to look that up and tell y'all on Friday, but I'm covering this one on Friday as well too. So definitely tune into my show Friday.
00:11:14
Speaker
It says, while engineers see evidence that there were ancient nuclear power plants. Okay. If y'all can, if engineers today can believe that there was ancient nuclear power plants, why the hell can't they believe in aliens? Come on. I'm, I'm, you know what? I'm gonna have a whole width of heart about conspiracy theories. I'm gonna find one about the moon being fake too. Cause I think that's fake. Fake, fake, fakeity fake. Cause why did we land on the moon? It ain't never been back.
00:11:43
Speaker
Jeff Bezos flying around space all the time while we can't go back to the moon. I think that people, and I saw this other documentary that was talking about how they came back from the moon and they body language at that damn press conference was stressed. Like they had seen some shit and they couldn't talk about it no more.
00:11:59
Speaker
Like they was told not to talk about it. So I'm interested. I think more stuff will come out in the future with the aliens and the conspiracy theories. But for today's episode, we're going over the ancient pyramids on this conspiracy theory podcast. It's linked below. Check it out,
