Speaker: Welcome back to episode four of the... Fuck.
Speaker: Welcome back to episode five of the Bubble.
Speaker: We're bringing on a new guest host today, Mr. Tolkien.
Speaker: We're going to cover some quick news, but mainly this episode is going to be more of a fun segment-y episode.
Speaker: But Tolkien, without further ado, introduce yourself, your favorite team, favorite player, and your hot take.
Speaker: I'm Jake Tolkien, international soccer player, national basketball fan.
Speaker: My hot take would be...
Speaker: Kevin Durant's top 10 all time.
Speaker: Fuck yeah.
Speaker: Favorite player?
Speaker: Oh, favorite player, Kobe Bryant.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: What about currently?
Speaker: Currently favorite player is Bruno Capocolo.
Speaker: Is he in the Sharks now or no?
Speaker: Is he on the Sharks?
Speaker: I think he's on the Raptors.
Speaker: He's the favorite player of all time, Tolkien.
Speaker: Kobe Bryant.
Speaker: Oh, word.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: He's in the Brazilian league, Bruno Caboclo.
Speaker: Caboclo.
Speaker: He was the next Giannis before Giannis.
Speaker: That's what people said.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: We're not talking about Bruno Caboclo.
Speaker: Fuck Bruno Caboclo.
Speaker: I had him in like 2K15 in my team.
Speaker: That's the only reason I know him.
Speaker: He's fired.
Speaker: Let's just jump into the John Collins trade.
Speaker: Honestly, in my opinion, it's a really boring trade.
Speaker: I think the Hawks are just moving cap for a guy that, in my opinion, looked very promising and then just got worse.
Speaker: But also, like, you got to think about the Hawks roster.
Speaker: You got Onyeka, who's coming at the bench playing 20 to 25 minutes a game.
Speaker: You also got Capella.
Speaker: So, like, you have a three big rotation.
Speaker: I don't know really how Collins kind of fits into that.
Speaker: I think going to Utah is going to be much better for him.
Speaker: Walker Custer is a pure anchor rim protector and Collins construction for be more that athletic for I don't know what the Hawks are up to they're cooking something up I don't know how much cap they have but I know Trey's on a super max rookie deal Dejounte is on a big contract and I don't really know the rest of their cap but like Deandre Hunter I think wants a rookie exception or he got signed but
Speaker: I know this was just a pure cap dump, which I like for the Hawks.
Speaker: And the Jazz, I think, are going to be like maybe the 7 or 6 seed now.
Speaker: I don't really think they get that much better.
Speaker: But it depends how much Walker, Kessler, and co.
Speaker: And Laurie marketed, of course.
Speaker: But I like Walker, Kessler, and Benham.
Speaker: I think he's going to take a huge leap in the year, too.
Speaker: But thoughts?
Speaker: I think it's a pretty ad trade.
Speaker: I mean, I'll just say something quick.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I get what you're doing if you're the Hawks.
Speaker: You're getting rid of $78 million in cap.
Speaker: You're trying to make room, even though John Collins has been on the trade block for three years now.
Speaker: They've been trying to get rid of him to free up the cap space.
Speaker: He's obviously not working there.
Speaker: But I'm going to focus on Utah.
Speaker: That, for me, I don't really like it at all.
Speaker: I mean, yeah, if you get John Collins, you're pretty happy.
Speaker: But at the end of the day, you just – I'm so high on Taylor Hendricks, the guy that just drafted a 3-D player, a 6'9 player that has so much potential.
Speaker: You just draft him.
Speaker: You show you like this guy.
Speaker: And then, boom, you get John Collins and you move Hendricks to the bench.
Speaker: I don't like that for his development at all.
Speaker: John Collins, he's a good player, and he's going to – I don't know how he's going to work with Laurie Markkinen, but I feel like there was more suitable options for John Collins.
Speaker: And you can got –
Speaker: way better than Rudy fucking Gay back to the Hawks.
Speaker: That's what I'd say.
Speaker: Really quick, I'll jump in here.
Speaker: I think obviously Jimmy said the trade was pretty boring, but I really do like what the Jazz are doing.
Speaker: I do like their roster.
Speaker: I think Boob just talked about Taylor Hendricks, and I think they also got Keontae George in the draft, who a lot of people were high on.
Speaker: So I think the Jazz not only had a good draft,
Speaker: Benighter building a team around, Lauren Markadon, Walker Kessler, Jimmy was talking about.
Speaker: They also had Jordan Clarkson, just won sixth man of the year.
Speaker: I don't think the Jazz are going to do anything crazy the next few years, probably a sixth seed, seventh seed going forward, but I think they're starting to build something good.
Speaker: Yeah, that's why I think that was true.
Speaker: I think it was pretty mid.
Speaker: John Collins doesn't really, like Boob said, they go to a seventh seed or a sixth seed.
Speaker: It's still the West, and it honestly didn't do anything.
Speaker: So they just got rid of a second pick and they get John Collins, which I think he's just like on a downward trajectory.
Speaker: It's pretty pointless.
Speaker: And then I thought Rudy Gay was out of the league.
Speaker: How old is he now?
Speaker: Like 40?
Speaker: He was like fire like 12 years ago.
Speaker: I didn't even know he was in the league until I saw that trade.
Speaker: It was like getting Jared Dudley in the second round pick.
Speaker: So I mean like, it was pretty pointless.
Speaker: But I understand what you're saying.
Speaker: It's a good salary dump.
Speaker: If the Hawks don't make a move in free agency and sign someone, this for me is just like, yo, what are you doing?
Speaker: But if I was the Heat and John Collins was up there and they're accepting Rudy fucking gay, then why would we not take John Collins?
Speaker: I feel like we're already getting rid of a bunch of players that we have the cap to do it.
Speaker: If you don't get Dame, we should have got John Collins, but that's over now.
Speaker: So I don't know.
Speaker: That's the weirdest trade I've ever seen.
Speaker: He's going to rot in Utah.
Speaker: You're on mute.
Speaker: We can't hear you.
Speaker: You're on mute.
Speaker: You're close.
Speaker: The craziest thing about this is that before he got traded or before he signed his rookie extension in 2021, he averaged 21 and 10 on 40% from the eye and the heart.
Speaker: Like that is crazy.
Speaker: Like 40% from three, 21 and 10 like that.
Speaker: I can see why they extended him with the max.
Speaker: So, I mean, the Hawks are just kind of a sticky situation when he shot sub 30%.
Speaker: from this from three this year so i mean we guess we'll have to wait and see but like i said i don't think the jazz get that much better they definitely improve but all their players are young so we'll see hell yeah all right uh boobs you can i don't give a i'm done talking about and hearing about damian lillard i'm also done hearing about draymond uh jeremy grant cool syracuse alum uh solid guy i think above average player but
Speaker: If anybody wants to talk about Damian Lillard and how he's staying put now, I swear, two weeks ago we said that, and then last week we said he was getting traded, and now he's staying put again.
Speaker: He doesn't want to be a contender.
Speaker: Here's what's going to happen.
Speaker: That makes no sense.
Speaker: Here's what's happening.
Speaker: Damian.
Speaker: is, I've already said this many times, I'm not afraid to say it again, he's a fucking, he's a pussy.
Speaker: So, he's not going to come out and just say that he wants to get traded right away, because he's going to give the opportunity, he's going to try to look like the good guy in this situation for the Blazers fans.
Speaker: He's like, yo, I'm going to give you guys the opportunity to get a good player.
Speaker: If you don't get a good player, then I will leave.
Speaker: But we all know Portland's not getting shit.
Speaker: They're not getting shit.
Speaker: They get Draymond Green, he's going to stay, that's going to turn them from an 11 seed to an 8, 9 seed.
Speaker: I don't fucking
Speaker: know but here's the thing he's still getting traded july 9th or you know somewhere around that period to the heat i can promise you that uh he's just like i don't i don't fuck with dame and if he stays with if he stays with portland this season i swear to god he's gonna i'm gonna find this dude and i will make sure he knows who i am because i'm gonna fucking destroy him
Speaker: Because all he wants, bro, is to be on a team where he doesn't have expectations to win, so he looks good and makes money.
Speaker: If he goes and leaves to a team that can actually have a possibility to win, he has pressure on him.
Speaker: And then we'll see who the real Damian Lillard is.
Speaker: Go to the Heat, and I'm a dire Heat fan.
Speaker: I want to see him win.
Speaker: I want to see you fucking win, but you're being a fucking bitch, dude.
Speaker: Sorry.
Speaker: My bad, folks.
Speaker: That's it.
Speaker: That's all I have to say.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: I mean, no one else wants to talk about Dame.
Speaker: Like, I don't want to talk about Damian Lillard.
Speaker: Also, Draymond, I don't want to care about.
Speaker: I mean, Tolkien or... The thing with Dame that I think is, like, so annoying is, like, he went to, like, Weber State, so he's, like, always on that underdog mentality.
Speaker: He's like, I wasn't highly recruited.
Speaker: Like, now I'm the guy, and I'm going to carry this team.
Speaker: But, like, he doesn't understand.
Speaker: Like, it's literally Durant, Devin Booker, fucking...
Speaker: Bradley Beal versus Damian Lillard, Jeremy Grant, and like, they're just gonna get destroyed every time, dude.
Speaker: Like, he needs to go to the Heat.
Speaker: He needs to go somewhere where like he actually can compete.
Speaker: Otherwise, he's just so annoying.
Speaker: He does it every single year.
Speaker: This year's the worst part though.
Speaker: Dude, yeah.
Speaker: But he, yeah, he should start his own like account.
Speaker: Like, he's literally worse than Kevin Durant's Twitter.
Speaker: Like, at least his shit's funny.
Speaker: Like, it's so annoying.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think he's trying to die on the sword of being loyal.
Speaker: And when he retires, no one's going to give him credit for that.
Speaker: KD, everyone discounts his two championships and two finals MVPs.
Speaker: But when it's all said and done, KD retires, he's going to be a two-time champion.
Speaker: He's going to be a two-time finals MVP.
Speaker: It doesn't really matter how he got there.
Speaker: He got there.
Speaker: I think Dame in Miami would be perfect.
Speaker: It definitely matters how he got there.
Speaker: No, but at the end of the day, he's a champion.
Speaker: Like, no one's going to give him – I don't know.
Speaker: I know people hit on it, but at the end of the day, he's a champion.
Speaker: You can't really describe him.
Speaker: He's trying to be like Duncan and Dirk, but the difference is Duncan and Dirk have a ring so people remember them.
Speaker: Damon Lillard is going to be like, dude, some fucking Mario Chalmers, bro.
Speaker: Like, who the fuck – only I know Mario Chalmers.
Speaker: I mean, you guys know him.
Speaker: Mario Chalmers has a ring, but like –
Speaker: He also was a beast when he had a college.
Speaker: He hit that game-tying three in the championship against Memphis.
Speaker: Yeah, he was a beast.
Speaker: So was Dane out of college.
Speaker: My point is, if you want to get remembered, win a fucking ring, dude, and stop being important.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: We're done with Dane.
Speaker: We're done with Dane.
Speaker: Also, Dirk and Duncan, like, dude, they played against, like, teams that were like Kobe, LeBron.
Speaker: I guess Dirk destroyed.
Speaker: Sorry, but Duncan did not win a ring on his own.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: He still won a ring, though.
Speaker: Yeah, so Samuel compared to how Damian Lillard wants to stay and be loyal.
Speaker: Like Duncan had Tony Parker, Chinobili, Kawhi for the later rings, D-Rob for the earlier rings.
Speaker: Yeah, but he's – We're going to fall through leaving.
Speaker: Yeah, Loki, Duncan – I mean, Loki, Tim Duncan's kind of overrated.
Speaker: He's not overrated, but he's definitely not – He's top five all the time.
Speaker: All right, moving on.
Speaker: Um, let's quickly get into free agency.
Speaker: I mean, if anybody wants to talk about stuff actually happening, I think the biggest thing will be where Brooke Lopez goes.
Speaker: I really just think that he's a really good player that will just, I think he's going to go to a contender.
Speaker: Obviously there's no way he's going to pull like a, it's not like a taking a really big deal and going somewhere.
Speaker: Blazers.
Speaker: But, I mean, I think he's going to go to a contender that needs a big.
Speaker: I think the Heat are definitely an option.
Speaker: I don't know if they have cap for him, but I really just think that Middleton declining is going to help Brook Lopez get more money and reshape the Bucs roster.
Speaker: I don't really see them going anywhere.
Speaker: Like, they won a ring literally two years ago, three years ago, technically, in terms of seasons.
Speaker: But, I mean, anybody else have any eyes on players that they like?
Speaker: I mean, Fred Van Vliet, we're not talking about him, but, like, I know he's a free agent.
Speaker: If you go to the Lakers, I'm –
Speaker: I'm interested to see where he ends up because I don't think he stays in Philly.
Speaker: Him and Embiid, it's a good duo on paper, but they're both just huge chokers in big situations, so I don't think that's a duo the Sixers want moving forward.
Speaker: Someone said this in the first podcast, but, like, I think the move is to have Maxi run your offense, get rid of Harden, and bring in other guys with that money.
Speaker: So I'm interested if you guys, like, have any potential options or destinations for Harden.
Speaker: I think that – oh, for Harden?
Speaker: I mean, if Harden's making a max deal, I don't think any contenders really have the cap.
Speaker: I think what would be cool is if he signs like a two-year deal.
Speaker: This won't really work, but OKC has so much cap, and they just keep not really using it.
Speaker: And signing, like Lou Dort I know is on the biggest contract that's going to expire soon or something like that.
Speaker: You look at him nice.
Speaker: That'd be fire.
Speaker: But like a guy like, for example, like Harrison Barnes is a free agent.
Speaker: Christian Wood is a guy that I would love to have.
Speaker: Like he's a 15 to $20 million guy that I think would fit great into a lot of contending teams that need offense.
Speaker: Like I honestly see him on the heat as a great piece to come off the bench.
Speaker: But also like I don't like I don't think Kyrie Irving is that good.
Speaker: Like if you look at what he's done since LeBron, he's done nothing.
Speaker: He's a great showtime player.
Speaker: He's entertaining to watch.
Speaker: He should be better.
Speaker: I don't know really what it is, but he hasn't done anything since playing with LeBron.
Speaker: That's plain and simple.
Speaker: And then I want to see what Westbrook does because if he goes to the Clippers, he's making three and a half mil versus going somewhere else.
Speaker: He can definitely get a bigger contract.
Speaker: But I mean, we'll have to wait and see.
Speaker: Dude, the only team I've been hearing in this free agency is the Rockets, the Rockets, the Rockets, the Rockets, which is like no one gives a fuck about the Rockets.
Speaker: So I hear Dylan Brooks is going to the Rockets.
Speaker: Fred Van Fleet is going to the Rockets.
Speaker: Like –
Speaker: If I'm looking at the free agencies, the list of free agents, the one move I really want to see happen is I want to see Kuzma go to the Grizzlies, honestly.
Speaker: I hate the fucking Grizzlies.
Speaker: But if Kuzma goes to the Grizzlies, that's like a fun team to watch.
Speaker: I instantly –
Speaker: turns.
Speaker: If you get Kuzma and Marcus Smart to replace that John Morant stint with the 25 games, that can help them get on a winning track when he comes back.
Speaker: And that team's looking really good, in my opinion.
Speaker: And then Kyrie, no clue what he's doing.
Speaker: Harden, no clue what he's doing.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: It'll be interesting.
Speaker: I'm very interested to see where Brooke Lopez goes.
Speaker: If he stays in Milwaukee, that means Chris Middleton's probably going to stay in Milwaukee.
Speaker: But if they both leave,
Speaker: Giannis not winning a ring for another five years.
Speaker: So we'll see what happens.
Speaker: Is Brook Lopez like really weighing his options?
Speaker: I thought like he would just resign.
Speaker: I don't know why he wouldn't.
Speaker: You can get more money.
Speaker: I guess the more money thing, but he doesn't like – I don't know.
Speaker: The Lopez brothers don't strike me as like – There's a lot of contenders who want him.
Speaker: Like someone that tall, block shots, hit threes, like all contenders.
Speaker: I want him so bad.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But the thing about Chris Middleton declining his player option or like the $40 million contract is some Bucks reporter was saying that the possible – like that's his way of getting Brooke Lopez to stay for – to re-sign for more money and Chris Middleton can sign for less money so they can just run it back.
Speaker: But they just lost in five in the first round.
Speaker: I feel like they got to move on from Chris Middleton at least and then hopefully bring –
Speaker: What's up?
Speaker: Caught back from injury.
Speaker: I said he got back from injury like a month before that.
Speaker: So, I mean, he was still like.
Speaker: That's true.
Speaker: But I don't know if Chris Middleton is that piece that they need right now.
Speaker: Drew Holiday is declining.
Speaker: Like, I think Giannis can be – like, I think it would be pretty cool if you get Kyrie on that team.
Speaker: That would be pretty nice.
Speaker: But I don't know.
Speaker: Drew Holliday.
Speaker: They have Pat Connett and Grayson Allen as their two guards, and they have Drew as their solid one.
Speaker: I don't think that would work.
Speaker: That's cool.
Speaker: What?
Speaker: That's disgusting.
Speaker: The team that won a championship?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Pat Connington was their starting shooting guard.
Speaker: Pat Connington.
Speaker: No, whatever you're about to say that, I want to hear it.
Speaker: Those are some pretty two guards, let's be honest.
Speaker: You see what Grayson Allen did against the Heat?
Speaker: He pulled up from half court in an elimination game.
Speaker: I don't care, bro.
Speaker: Those guys are championship pieces, and they're both 3-and-D guys.
Speaker: The Bucs do not need Kyrie Irving.
Speaker: Yeah, I agree.
Speaker: That's my counter.
Speaker: I'm not saying Grayson Allen and Pat Connington are like starting caliber two guards that are going to play at a super, super high level and give you 20 a game.
Speaker: No, they're going to play their role because you don't need them.
Speaker: You got Giannis, Drew Holland, and Middleton.
Speaker: I guess we'll see what happens.
Speaker: But also, Brooke Lopez is like a 15-year-old, 15-point per game score.
Speaker: They don't need Kyrie Irving at all.
Speaker: I would take Ben McElmore over Pat Connington right now.
Speaker: I ain't even going to respond to that.
Speaker: Wait, Jordan Clarkson's a free agent?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Bro, that's money.
Speaker: I didn't know that.
Speaker: Dude, fuck yeah.
Speaker: Give me Jordan Clarkson too.
Speaker: I'll take that, dude.
Speaker: I just want the Lakers to re-sign Rui and Austin Reeves.
Speaker: I'm happy.
Speaker: Yeah, what's going to be going with Austin Reeves, Jimmy?
Speaker: The Lakers said that they're going to match any offer because they have his bird rights, which they can.
Speaker: But, like, I don't know why they would openly say that.
Speaker: But he's, like, he could get 20 to 25 mil from, like, the Rockets.
Speaker: Like, I don't know.
Speaker: We'll have to see him.
Speaker: He's our big three if we re-sign him.
Speaker: I talked to an inside reporter the other day for the Miami Heat, and I was like, yo, what are the chances we get Dane?
Speaker: And he was like, honestly, you can't predict that, but let's say he does stay.
Speaker: The only two people we're going after is fucking Vucevic and Brooke Lopez.
Speaker: So, like, I don't want Vucevic on our team.
Speaker: Vucevic, we already ranted on Vucevic, get him out of here.
Speaker: But Brooke Lopez, that guy can go anywhere and instantly turn them into a decent team, into a better team.
Speaker: Also, I just want to say, last episode, Boobs, you really pissed me off because you thought Cade Cunningham was buns.
Speaker: So I'd love to hear your – Did you not see the picture of him looking fat as fuck?
Speaker: That was fake, bro.
Speaker: That was fake.
Speaker: Bro, bro, he's huge.
Speaker: You said Cade Cunningham should be out of the league after he got hurt and didn't play the entire – Yes, you did.
Speaker: Okay, you said something along the lines of that he was trash.
Speaker: Dude, dude, I said Cade Cunningham.
Speaker: Like, let's be real.
Speaker: Let's all be real here.
Speaker: That guy's going to be fucking real.
Speaker: That's your worst take in podcasting.
Speaker: Like what?
Speaker: I don't understand.
Speaker: King coming games would be good.
Speaker: Like I didn't see him be out of the league.
Speaker: But that was a minute or like two minutes after I saw a picture of him looking like fucking Big Baby Davis, dude.
Speaker: Like I'm going to freak out.
Speaker: It looked like the James Harden pictures.
Speaker: Remember James Harden?
Speaker: It was real though.
Speaker: That was real.
Speaker: The Cade one looks real, bro.
Speaker: The Cade is fake.
Speaker: Bro, if you just go to Cade's Instagram, you can see it's fake.
Speaker: The Harden, like, bat suit, that was a crazy conspiracy thing.
Speaker: But I know you're not a bad enough person or bad enough basketball mind to think that Cade is bad.
Speaker: I know the photos could be believable, but we'll move past that.
Speaker: That was just funny how you, like, out of nowhere.
Speaker: Is Markel Felt's a free agent?
Speaker: I don't think so.
Speaker: He signed like a $15 million deal.
Speaker: I think he's going to be good too.
Speaker: He's going to be fire.
Speaker: I want him to Lakers.
Speaker: All right, bro.
Speaker: It's not going to happen.
Speaker: I know, I know.
Speaker: He has a three-year $15 million deal.
Speaker: He did.
Speaker: He signed it.
Speaker: Let's move on to Boomer Bust.
Speaker: I got a list of 12 teams.
Speaker: We're going to go on basically how you're going to think they're going to do next year.
Speaker: Obviously, the players that are free agents –
Speaker: You can't really count for, so just pretend like they re-sign.
Speaker: So one of them, for example, was if I put the Lakers here, I don't have them.
Speaker: Just Austin Reeves and Rui would be on the team, for example.
Speaker: Like the Clippers would have Russ, that team that was in the playoffs.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: First one, ironically, is the Clippers.
Speaker: You can just base it off of do you think they're going to be better or worse than last year?
Speaker: Are we writing this down?
Speaker: No, you just have to say.
Speaker: I'm writing it down, but for myself.
Speaker: It's a tough one.
Speaker: Let's go.
Speaker: Rapid.
Speaker: I think they'll be the same.
Speaker: I think they'll be the top three seed.
Speaker: Top three seed if they're both healthy.
Speaker: It depends if Paul George gets traded, though.
Speaker: So, like, I don't know.
Speaker: I mean, right now, yeah.
Speaker: I think he's staying and top three seed if they're both healthy for sure.
Speaker: No, not top three seed, top four.
Speaker: What's the difference?
Speaker: Guys, it'll be the fourth.
Speaker: It's going to be Nuggets, Suns, Clippers, Lakers.
Speaker: No, no.
Speaker: Lasers are loading.
Speaker: All right, next team, the Suns.
Speaker: Obviously, boom.
Speaker: Well, I'm saying, like, you think they're going to make the Western Conference Finals and, like, you think they're going to the Finals is really my question.
Speaker: They made it to the Western Conference Finals.
Speaker: They took the NBA winning team to the most games.
Speaker: They were pretty much the second best team in the playoffs if you think about it.
Speaker: I think they're going to suck.
Speaker: I just don't like it.
Speaker: I don't think it's going to work.
Speaker: I think they're going to make it to the second round.
Speaker: My thing is, dude, any of them can have an off day and one of them still drops.
Speaker: Two of them still drop 30 and you're scoring 120 points.
Speaker: I know, I know, I know.
Speaker: That's 60 points.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: I'm saying it realistically, though.
Speaker: I mean, if one of them has an off day and Beal and Katie – let's say Booker has like 10 points.
Speaker: Beal and Katie have 25 each.
Speaker: That's 60.
Speaker: Where are you getting 40 other points from?
Speaker: Not even 60.
Speaker: Where are you getting – like Torrey Craig maybe gets like eight.
Speaker: And then you get like 15.
Speaker: Jabari Parker.
Speaker: Jabari Parker.
Speaker: You got Dwight – like Stanley Johnson.
Speaker: Like what are they doing?
Speaker: Ben Mappelmore.
Speaker: Ben Mappelmore, Bruno Caboclo.
Speaker: The Celtics.
Speaker: Bust.
Speaker: Bust.
Speaker: Bust.
Speaker: You literally two episodes ago said that you were so high on Derek White.
Speaker: Dude, listen to me.
Speaker: My theory is for them to bust.
Speaker: No one else is talking.
Speaker: All right, yeah.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: My thing is if they're to bust, they have to make the finals.
Speaker: And I don't think they're making the finals, but I think they'll still be, like, I don't know.
Speaker: They'll be good.
Speaker: They'll be to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker: They're not booming, though.
Speaker: They're not busting.
Speaker: You can keep them at, like, middle, I guess, but, like, I still think they're going to be really good.
Speaker: They're not mid, but they're really good.
Speaker: They're losing the Conference Finals to the Bucs or the Heat or something like that.
Speaker: Hell yeah, I agree.
Speaker: All right, next team, the Maps.
Speaker: Wait, did Jalen Brown get re-signed?
Speaker: He will.
Speaker: It's going to happen.
Speaker: It's a lock.
Speaker: It's going to happen.
Speaker: The Mavs.
Speaker: I think they're going to be so bad.
Speaker: I think Boom, though.
Speaker: There's no way they don't make the playoffs.
Speaker: I don't think so, dude.
Speaker: I don't like Donnie.
Speaker: Make the play in and they'll lose.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: I agree.
Speaker: Make the play in and they'll lose.
Speaker: Dude, the West is stacked.
Speaker: They're not going to make the playoffs.
Speaker: They got worse.
Speaker: Kyrie is not resigning.
Speaker: Also, Kyrie, it didn't work.
Speaker: And they tried to offer JaVale McGee, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Reggie Bullock for Aiden.
Speaker: I don't know if you guys saw that, but the son said no.
Speaker: And Christian Wood's gone.
Speaker: He's going to be UFA.
Speaker: They said they don't want to resign.
Speaker: I'm like, Derek Lively is going to be their starting center.
Speaker: He's a rookie.
Speaker: They got their pick, though, right?
Speaker: They did?
Speaker: Derek Lively.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker: They got Lively.
Speaker: They got Lively.
Speaker: No, he's going to be good, but like – Yeah, he'll be good.
Speaker: Rookie year to like – Who's that shooting guard?
Speaker: They have that shooting guard that's raw, low-key.
Speaker: Tim Hardaway Jr.?
Speaker: No, no.
Speaker: Oh, Jaden Hardy?
Speaker: Yeah, Jaden Hardy.
Speaker: Yeah, he's – Other than that guy, they have nothing looking promising.
Speaker: I don't like Luka.
Speaker: I think he's so overrated.
Speaker: He's the next Westbrook.
Speaker: I think he's overrated, but, like, he's not – he's still a superstar, but, like, you haven't seen – He's Westbrook.
Speaker: Besides the run against the Suns, which I think – I don't even know how that – like, I don't know.
Speaker: That was just crazy to watch.
Speaker: Fun fact, Luka Doncic averages the most points per game in Western Conference Finals history.
Speaker: Therefore, he's fucking nasty.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think they'll make the playoffs.
Speaker: There's no way they don't.
Speaker: Oh, that was a trivia question.
Speaker: I forgot about that.
Speaker: That's why you pulled that up.
Speaker: I'm the one that made that question, bro.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: The next team, which I am – you want to say something?
Speaker: No, I was just hyped.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: The next team, I think, is going to be so bad next year.
Speaker: They're due for a regression year.
Speaker: I think a fluke was the Kings.
Speaker: Bro, boom, boom.
Speaker: How can they regress?
Speaker: They lost in the first round.
Speaker: They're going to boom.
Speaker: I don't think – if you look at the teams in the West that they're going to be playing against, I just don't see it.
Speaker: I don't think they're going to be a three-seater game.
Speaker: They play well-rounded though.
Speaker: It's like the Heat.
Speaker: I'm very high.
Speaker: Okay, first of all, Harrison Barnes is gone unless he re-signs.
Speaker: I don't think he's going to re-sign for another $20 million a year.
Speaker: You said you assume everyone re-signs.
Speaker: Okay, good point.
Speaker: Okay, let's say – but like – okay, if you look at that team, De'Aaron Fox is going to get better.
Speaker: Keegan Murray gets better.
Speaker: Like a little bit better.
Speaker: Keegan Murray gets better.
Speaker: And Davey on Mitchell.
Speaker: Those are the only three guys I've released.
Speaker: So Boner's getting better.
Speaker: So Boner's getting better.
Speaker: At what?
Speaker: He likes to learn how to shoot, actually.
Speaker: They could have located and competed.
Speaker: Dude, he was so bad.
Speaker: I didn't realize he can't shoot at all.
Speaker: Okay, I still think they're going to regress.
Speaker: I still think they're a playoff team, but I'm just not high on the kinks.
Speaker: So you think their first round loss will be the same spot they're in this year?
Speaker: I think they're not going to change if they make the playoffs or lose in the first round.
Speaker: Because, like, I'm taking the Lakers, Clippers, Suns, Nuggets.
Speaker: That's four teams already.
Speaker: I'm taking the Grizzlies over them.
Speaker: If the Pelicans are fully healthy, I think the Pelicans beat them.
Speaker: But, like, that's not going to happen because Zion's going to beat them.
Speaker: What are the Warriors?
Speaker: Warriors.
Speaker: And the Warriors, too.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So, all right.
Speaker: Next team.
Speaker: That's eight.
Speaker: What's the ninth?
Speaker: We're pushing out, Jimmy.
Speaker: No, we're not pushing him out, bro.
Speaker: I honestly think, and this is low-key a hot take, I really think the T-Wolves are going to be good next year.
Speaker: People underestimate the Timberwolves.
Speaker: People underestimate Jaden McDaniels and how good he is.
Speaker: I honestly think... Hey, you just re-signed.
Speaker: I honestly think we lose that play-in game if Jaden McDaniels doesn't punch a wall and break his hand out of frustration for a game that didn't even matter.
Speaker: That was crazy.
Speaker: And...
Speaker: And they fought.
Speaker: We really won that game.
Speaker: There was so much drama on that team.
Speaker: Anthony Edwards just signed his deal.
Speaker: He just switched agencies.
Speaker: He wants to start his own production company, according to Broadway Joe.
Speaker: Mike Conley also.
Speaker: I was so shocked.
Speaker: When we watched that game, Tolkien, he was lighting us up.
Speaker: I was genuinely impressed how good he was playing.
Speaker: They still have fucking Rudy Gobert, bro.
Speaker: Like, they're so – like, they're not better.
Speaker: You can't compare.
Speaker: Let's go player by player, actually.
Speaker: Actually, no, it might be OD, but, like, I'm going to go Darren Fox.
Speaker: Next team.
Speaker: Next team.
Speaker: Next team.
Speaker: Next team.
Speaker: The two-olds are not going to be good.
Speaker: No, I like the two-olds.
Speaker: I agree, Jimmy.
Speaker: The Rockets probably – Next team.
Speaker: We're going with the Hawks.
Speaker: They'd progress.
Speaker: I mean, they didn't make the playoffs.
Speaker: You think they're going to miss the playoffs again?
Speaker: No, they did make the playoffs.
Speaker: They lost in six to the Celtics.
Speaker: They lost in six to the Celtics?
Speaker: I think we all know Boston was – I thought Boston was like coasting that series.
Speaker: I forgot they made the playoffs.
Speaker: If not worse.
Speaker: I think that whole draft class – I agree.
Speaker: I agree.
Speaker: They don't have any people winning.
Speaker: I think they're overhyped.
Speaker: Both Dostas and Trae Young made the Western Conference Finals in their career.
Speaker: I don't think that either of them will ever win anything.
Speaker: That's my hot take, honestly.
Speaker: It's still early.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I just think the player types, their archetypes.
Speaker: You're not winning, but Trae Young's your best player.
Speaker: I agree with that.
Speaker: This team made the Eastern Conference Semifinals and lost.
Speaker: It is, Johan, your team, the Knicks.
Speaker: I got, I'm, I got on bust.
Speaker: I'm, I'm picking bust too.
Speaker: They, they, I don't know how they beat, um, the Cavs.
Speaker: Who's another team on this list, by the way.
Speaker: I just look, Brunson is, I love Brunson.
Speaker: Great player.
Speaker: Uh, what RJ isn't really going to get that much better.
Speaker: Randall's Randall.
Speaker: Like he's good, but not great.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: And, like, they need to figure out their big situation.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I just don't see them getting that much better.
Speaker: I think they'll make it around at least, though, next year.
Speaker: I think Drunson has a lot more confidence after this last year.
Speaker: I think RJ is going to get better.
Speaker: I don't know why you're hating on him.
Speaker: I think he, like, his, like, shot creation off the dribble is so bad that, like, there's nowhere to go but up.
Speaker: So I think he's going to have to improve this a little bit.
Speaker: And I'm not the biggest Randall fan, as you know, but I still think he's a solid regular season player.
Speaker: And I think –
Speaker: Other than like the Bucs, the Heat, the Celtics, the Sixers, those are four teams that are better than the Knicks.
Speaker: But I think that they could beat any of them in the playoff series.
Speaker: We just played the Cavs and we smoked them.
Speaker: The Heat series also was a lot closer than people think.
Speaker: We lost in six.
Speaker: And I think it was a lot closer than people make it seem.
Speaker: And I think that we will go second round again at least next year.
Speaker: Bro, we were up 3-1.
Speaker: The only reason you guys won game two is because Jimmy was out.
Speaker: Like, that series was over after game one.
Speaker: What?
Speaker: We won game one, and we rested Jimmy because he was hurt, and you guys took game two.
Speaker: And then we beat you guys both times at home.
Speaker: It was 3-1.
Speaker: That shit was over, like, packed.
Speaker: Sorry.
Speaker: Anyways, I agree.
Speaker: I don't think the Knicks are that good.
Speaker: They're so mid.
Speaker: They're above average mid.
Speaker: That's good.
Speaker: They're Julius Randle, bro.
Speaker: I'm sorry.
Speaker: The Heat were not in.
Speaker: I hate when people say, oh my god, an 8 seed beat the 1 seed.
Speaker: If you look at the Heat's regular season, it's just injuries.
Speaker: They really started clicking in that first round.
Speaker: Also, weren't they the 1 seed?
Speaker: Last year?
Speaker: Or the year before?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like, dude, you don't just go from the 1 to the 18.
Speaker: And that was the same exact team, pretty much.
Speaker: Yeah, exactly.
Speaker: I think we got better.
Speaker: We just did – we did all that shit without Hero and Oladipo, bro.
Speaker: Sorry.
Speaker: I had to put that out there.
Speaker: We had no Hero and Oladipo.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: And Caleb Martin turned into, like, Prime Jordan for, like, two series.
Speaker: That one game against the Celtics was crazy, bro.
Speaker: He was heat checking.
Speaker: They were, like, 15 –
Speaker: They were up 15 and he pulled like logo shots and just started bricking them.
Speaker: Everyone was like, oh, yes.
Speaker: I remember he was brushing the cords, pull a logo, just brick it.
Speaker: Everyone was like, all right, chill out, chill out.
Speaker: All right, next team, next team.
Speaker: We already went over the T-Wolves.
Speaker: I'm going to skip the Bucs, honestly.
Speaker: I mean, they're going to be a top seed.
Speaker: The Pelicans.
Speaker: Same exact team, all healthy.
Speaker: I think they have to go up.
Speaker: Yeah, they have to go up.
Speaker: Obviously, it's a boom from last year, but do we think that team is sustainable in the playoffs?
Speaker: Let's say if they get into a seven-game series, who you got, them or the Kings in a seven-game series?
Speaker: Their ceiling is second round, like going to the second round.
Speaker: Their floor is making the play-in.
Speaker: I mean, if they're all healthy, I agree with that.
Speaker: But, like, if it's normal and injuries are to play, their floor is the bottom of the – I don't know.
Speaker: I still feel like Brandon Ingram hasn't, like, done it yet.
Speaker: I think he gets better.
Speaker: If he gets better, they could be really, really good.
Speaker: I'm so adamant on this point of they should get rid of CJ and just start Trey Murphy and let him roll into that role.
Speaker: I don't like CJ McCollum too.
Speaker: He's regressing.
Speaker: Trey Murphy's a 6'8 shooting guard that almost won the dunk contest.
Speaker: Did he win?
Speaker: Oh, Mac McCollum.
Speaker: Who's that dude?
Speaker: Oh my god, wait, Jimmy.
Speaker: Who's the guy?
Speaker: Who's the small forward?
Speaker: Oh, Najee Marshall.
Speaker: I hate that guy, dude.
Speaker: Yeah, that guy lost his spot on it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Holy shit.
Speaker: He did not miss.
Speaker: We had no idea who that was because it was like his first game starting or something.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Next team is the Cavs.
Speaker: I think they have to go up.
Speaker: That was embarrassing in the first round, what they did.
Speaker: They'll boom.
Speaker: Bro, they're the two guards, though.
Speaker: The two guards.
Speaker: It's really just up to Donovan Mitchell if he can play well.
Speaker: And Mobley h as a lot of room to grow.
Speaker: A lot of people are room to grow.
Speaker: People forget.
Speaker: That was his second year.
Speaker: Yeah, no, I think he breaks out next year, honestly.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: He already kind of broke out, but it just depends on the offense.
Speaker: And his game on offense is he'll catch the ball in the post.
Speaker: He'll turn and, like, throw the ball into the basket.
Speaker: And if it goes in, it goes in.
Speaker: But, like, he's chucking that shit, like, down even.
Speaker: He's not, like, shooting it.
Speaker: It's crazy to watch.
Speaker: And then Jared Allen, besides that one game against the Lakers, we had 20 points.
Speaker: Do you remember that?
Speaker: Oh, my God, dude.
Speaker: He had 22 points and did not miss.
Speaker: He was 11 for 11 in the first half.
Speaker: And the next game, we were, like, making a prize pick.
Speaker: I'm like, all right, Jared Allen, like, points.
Speaker: He had, like, four.
Speaker: I remember that so vividly.
Speaker: He was like, he was literally Jokic for one game.
Speaker: Everybody wants to turn into prime MJ against the Lakers.
Speaker: The last team is the Sixers, though.
Speaker: If Harden resigns, I don't think, I just think they'd say the same.
Speaker: They're literally stat news, dude.
Speaker: Their team is stat news.
Speaker: Actually, yeah.
Speaker: Like, Harden gets 15 assists because they just do alley-ups, do Embiid.
Speaker: Like, it's pick and roll 2K, but like,
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: They get exposed by really good teams.
Speaker: Also, Tobias does not want to be there anymore.
Speaker: He knows.
Speaker: Tobias Harris sucks.
Speaker: He's not good, but he was saying the other day, like, casual fans want to trade me for a bag of cookies.
Speaker: Like, he hates cookies.
Speaker: Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker: I think they only put it down for me.
Speaker: It's not because of that.
Speaker: It's because of the Jimmy Butler thing.
Speaker: It's not his fault, but they just picked Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler.
Speaker: Low key, though, Tobias Harris was, like, coming up when that happened, but Jimmy Butler was already fucking good.
Speaker: I don't know how you don't.
Speaker: I think they thought he was better for Ben Simmons and Embiid than Jimmy was, like, in terms of, like, being a complimentary player, and then Simmons just shit the bed.
Speaker: Tobias Harris was nice in the Clippers.
Speaker: That's why I liked him.
Speaker: Jimmy's, like, best friends with Joel Embiid.
Speaker: Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler are, like, best friends, and he still, like, didn't listen to the MVP and picked Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler.
Speaker: Like, that's going to haunt them down for a while.
Speaker: I think Tyrese Max is him.
Speaker: I know Jimmy's not that high on him, but I think Tyrese Max is fucked.
Speaker: I just didn't know he shot 42% from three.
Speaker: I still think he has room to get better, but like – Dude, they get better.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Harden needs to leave and put Max – I don't know.
Speaker: No, they need a better three – they need a three-indie guard because I hate to say Max is 6'2".
Speaker: He's just like 6'1", let's be real.
Speaker: He's not 6'2".
Speaker: He's got a point guard, I think.
Speaker: Yeah, for sure.
Speaker: He's a really good scoring guard.
Speaker: They need like a 6'5 Mike Conley if that exists.
Speaker: Lonzo Ball.
Speaker: They need Lonzo Ball.
Speaker: That would be perfect, honestly.
Speaker: What was George's thing about CP3, Lonzo Ball?
Speaker: He said CP3 is everything everybody wants Lonzo Ball to be.
Speaker: I understand that.
Speaker: I love it to saying, like, LeBron James is everything Jabari – people on Jabari probably – Yeah.
Speaker: Or, like, good player and then bad player that could have been good but got hurt.
Speaker: Magic Johnson is everything Lonzo Ball was.
Speaker: Yeah, no, literally.
Speaker: Well, except for having AIDS, but –
Speaker: That would be chill.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Moving on to the 2009 redraft.
Speaker: We did.
Speaker: We picked the order through a random wheel before the podcast.
Speaker: We're going to do a snake draft.
Speaker: We're each going to take five picks.
Speaker: We're going to try to build out competent rosters.
Speaker: But as you know, a lot of these guys are kind of out of the league and a little before our time.
Speaker: But we'll do our best here.
Speaker: There's a lot of guys I'm interested to see.
Speaker: But we're going to be doing a snake draft with the four of us.
Speaker: So there's going to be 20 picks total, five picks each.
Speaker: The order is me, Tolkien, Boobs, then Johan, and then coincidentally for the second round, or consecutively it would be Johan, Boobs, Tolkien, then me, and then we repeat it.
Speaker: And then for the last one, I guess I get an advantage because we're doing an uneven route.
Speaker: So fuck it, I guess.
Speaker: Get fucked.
Speaker: But with the first pick in the 2009 redraft, I will obviously be taking Steph Curry at my guard position.
Speaker: Or we'll pick.
Speaker: Can I trade my second for Johan's third and fifth?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: Do I just say my pick?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Say it out loud.
Speaker: I'm taking James Harden.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: You know, with this pick, it took me quite an off.
Speaker: And, you know, I'm going to go with, you know, I'm going to go with DeMar DeRozan.
Speaker: You sound like Sweeney.
Speaker: Oh, shit.
Speaker: Fuck, I thought I was going to get DeRozan here.
Speaker: You got back-to-back picks.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'll go with Blake Griffin and Drew Holiday.
Speaker: Nice.
Speaker: That was fire.
Speaker: So far, everything's going to plan, in my opinion, in terms of who's available.
Speaker: Who's up?
Speaker: Me?
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: You know, with this pick, everyone's in their prime, correct?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: This is a toss-up for me.
Speaker: For example, Tyreek Evans, you know he's going to get hurt in two years.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm going to go Rubio, bro, at the point, bro.
Speaker: Rubio was a dog back in the day in 2K with the Timberwolves.
Speaker: I was a big fan of that dude.
Speaker: I like that pick.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: Tolkien?
Speaker: I think my plan's coming together.
Speaker: Yeah, I got to go with him.
Speaker: Brandon Jennings at the two.
Speaker: Harden at the one.
Speaker: Okay, that's fire.
Speaker: I mean, I can't – I don't know if I want to run – I have back-to-back picks here, so I definitely got to take a big.
Speaker: I can't – I'm definitely not taking Hashim to beat.
Speaker: But, I mean, I like Jordan Hill.
Speaker: He was solid for the Lakers for a couple of years, but, like, I can't pick him.
Speaker: Jeff Teague.
Speaker: Oh, my God.
Speaker: Jeff Teague, man.
Speaker: He's got a ring.
Speaker: He does.
Speaker: I mean, honestly, Jeff Teague has promised an all-star.
Speaker: Yeah, he was.
Speaker: My guards are going to be so short.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm going to take Jeff Teague.
Speaker: I have to.
Speaker: He can play the two.
Speaker: And then with my third pick, I'm going to be taking – I'm going to take Taj Gibson.
Speaker: Bro.
Speaker: There's no other bigs that I want to take, to be honest.
Speaker: I feel like I'm disrespecting.
Speaker: You're picked Tyler.
Speaker: Hands, bro.
Speaker: Didn't play more than two seasons.
Speaker: You're up.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm thinking.
Speaker: I think I go with Danny Green at three.
Speaker: That's a great pick.
Speaker: I was looking at him.
Speaker: He was so fire on the Spurs, dude.
Speaker: He ruined my childhood in 2014.
Speaker: And the Raptors, kind of.
Speaker: I think they have the best team right now, dude.
Speaker: I'm going to go with – so I have DeRozan and Rubio.
Speaker: Jesus, okay.
Speaker: Need some surgery here.
Speaker: I'm going to go with – I think I have to – That could be mine.
Speaker: I have to go with –
Speaker: I'm going to go with Patrick Beverly, man.
Speaker: That's a great pick.
Speaker: We're running small, bro.
Speaker: Pat Bev, Rubio, and Luis.
Speaker: Don't tell us at the three.
Speaker: He can play the three.
Speaker: Yeah, that could work.
Speaker: Yeah, I actually just stole my last two picks.
Speaker: I was going to pick Danny Green, Pat Bev.
Speaker: Fuck.
Speaker: Well, now you've got two back-to-back.
Speaker: Good luck.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: I'm really fucked.
Speaker: I think one of my picks, I'm going to go with Damari Carroll, solid role player in the league for a while.
Speaker: And then...
Speaker: With my other pick, this one might be a surprise, but I don't pick Jody Meeks.
Speaker: He was like a microwave plug for a while.
Speaker: He was good.
Speaker: On the Lakers, bro.
Speaker: He was a Lakers spark plug.
Speaker: Jody Meeks, dude.
Speaker: Dude, how have – Oh, I know.
Speaker: I got to shut my mouth.
Speaker: I was about to say, there's like two guys that just looked at him like, how have you – Shut up.
Speaker: Definitely a Johan.
Speaker: Johan has no idea who this guy is.
Speaker: Here's the thing.
Speaker: I'm running small.
Speaker: I'm running very small.
Speaker: I'm going to go – Dude, you are – I'm going to pick –
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I'm going to go with my boy, Wesley Matthews.
Speaker: We're going to do – he's going to be – we're going Wesley Matthews.
Speaker: That's a fire team.
Speaker: I like this team.
Speaker: What pick was he?
Speaker: I completely missed him, dude.
Speaker: What pick was he?
Speaker: Are you fourth, Boobs?
Speaker: No, I'm third.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Has Blake Griffin been taken?
Speaker: Was Blake Griffin been taken?
Speaker: Was Blake Griffin been taken?
Speaker: Was Blake Griffin been taken?
Speaker: Was Blake Griffin been taken?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Yes, he was.
Speaker: I don't see Wesley Matthews in the draft.
Speaker: Wesley Matthews was an undrafted player.
Speaker: But we're not feeling undrafted.
Speaker: It doesn't count.
Speaker: It doesn't count, but he was picked up.
Speaker: His rookie season was technically... Has to be a drafted player.
Speaker: All right, fuck.
Speaker: All right, dude.
Speaker: I didn't want him anyway.
Speaker: I'm going to change this up.
Speaker: I'm going to go with... Jeez, this is horrible.
Speaker: Who are these friends?
Speaker: I'm going to go.
Speaker: I need some height.
Speaker: So I'm going to go Gerald Henderson.
Speaker: You said height and took a shooting guard.
Speaker: No, I'm going to change that.
Speaker: He's 6'5".
Speaker: You got him.
Speaker: Power forward.
Speaker: I'm going Tyreek Evans, bro.
Speaker: I had to.
Speaker: Oh, fuck.
Speaker: Damn it.
Speaker: Fuck you, Jimmy.
Speaker: You should have let him take him.
Speaker: I mean, he took an even shorter person.
Speaker: Like, he's fucked.
Speaker: I'm fine, dude.
Speaker: Let's go, Tol.
Speaker: Alright.
Speaker: I got my last two picks coming up.
Speaker: Taj Gibson's gone.
Speaker: Dude.
Speaker: I think I got Damari Carroll.
Speaker: He already just picked.
Speaker: I already picked Damari Carroll.
Speaker: You did?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: God.
Speaker: Dude, everyone's a point guard.
Speaker: Dude, there's no good bigs at all.
Speaker: It's so annoying.
Speaker: Give me a... Nah, dude.
Speaker: This guy sucks.
Speaker: Tick-tock.
Speaker: Give me James Johnson.
Speaker: What the fuck?
Speaker: That's exactly what I was going to take for my three.
Speaker: All right, I'm kind of fucked now.
Speaker: I don't know how none of you have picked – okay, I don't want to say it.
Speaker: I can't play Jeff Teague at the three, but you guys are missing this guy.
Speaker: I don't know how.
Speaker: And his prime, he was so good.
Speaker: I can't play Jeff Teague.
Speaker: My tallest player is 6'5".
Speaker: There's so many guards left.
Speaker: There's so many guards, yeah.
Speaker: I'm going to take your boy Tony Douglas.
Speaker: I'm not taking him.
Speaker: That was just like, haha.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Dude, Patty Mills is in this?
Speaker: Yeah, he's fire.
Speaker: I was looking at him.
Speaker: I picked you a harder though.
Speaker: I couldn't have too short.
Speaker: Honestly, Jonas Jarebko is going to be my four.
Speaker: Stretch four.
Speaker: He started for the Celtics and the Warriors when KD was there.
Speaker: And my three is going to be, you know what?
Speaker: We're going to have to run a three-point guard lineup just because I can't not take this guy.
Speaker: Did someone pick Ty Lawson yet or am I tripping?
Speaker: Ty Lawson.
Speaker: No one picked him.
Speaker: Dude, you're at the three.
Speaker: My team is set.
Speaker: Wait, I need one more player.
Speaker: Yeah, you're up.
Speaker: I think it's me, no?
Speaker: No, it's Tolkien.
Speaker: Tolkien, then Boobs, then Johan, and then we're done.
Speaker: How is Wayne Ellington not picked?
Speaker: He's my dog.
Speaker: Shooting guard.
Speaker: Fuck, dude.
Speaker: Everyone's a shooting guard.
Speaker: Point guard.
Speaker: I have my pick locked in.
Speaker: I know exactly what it is, too.
Speaker: I don't think so, bro.
Speaker: Scout talking.
Speaker: I'm looking for this guy.
Speaker: Got his name.
Speaker: Oh, you took Jonas Jericho?
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: Is there even a single center left?
Speaker: I got one.
Speaker: John Brockman.
Speaker: Give me him.
Speaker: Who the fuck is that?
Speaker: He's hype, bro.
Speaker: That's all I needed.
Speaker: Take Hashim to beat.
Speaker: I've never been there.
Speaker: No one's taking, bro.
Speaker: He didn't play like – I think he was so bad.
Speaker: Nah, man.
Speaker: I'm taking John Brockman.
Speaker: Oh, my God.
Speaker: There's so many undrafted people here that want to pick, but I can't.
Speaker: Nope.
Speaker: All right, fine.
Speaker: Go.
Speaker: I'm going to swear – I can't get Joe Ingles in, right?
Speaker: No.
Speaker: All right, fine.
Speaker: I'm getting Omri Kaspi.
Speaker: Good pick.
Speaker: My team's OP, bro.
Speaker: We have – how tall is that, dude?
Speaker: He's a wing player.
Speaker: I guess everyone went small, so I'll go small too.
Speaker: My last pick, Marcus Thornton.
Speaker: Dude, how did no one pick Darren Collison?
Speaker: You just picked Marcus Thornton.
Speaker: He's like two inches taller.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: My team is – I got point guard, Steph Curry, shooting guard, Jeff Teague, small forward, Ty Lawson, power forward, Jonas Jurebko, and center, Taj Gibson, the journeyman.
Speaker: That's fine.
Speaker: That's good.
Speaker: Next.
Speaker: My team, I got James Harden at point guard, shooting guard, Brandon Jennings, small forward, Danny Green, power forward, James Johnson, and center, the good rock, John Brockman.
Speaker: Wait, who's your shooting guard at point guard?
Speaker: Brandon Jennings.
Speaker: Your team's honestly really good except for your random center.
Speaker: Yeah, but like really tight, dude.
Speaker: One through four is honestly pretty solid.
Speaker: Yeah, I like it.
Speaker: My squad.
Speaker: Baby's Taj Gibson in there.
Speaker: We got Rubio at the one.
Speaker: Then we got DeRozan.
Speaker: Or I feel like I missed someone.
Speaker: I forgot who else I picked.
Speaker: Let me restart that.
Speaker: Wait up.
Speaker: Who the fuck did I get?
Speaker: Oh, restart.
Speaker: We got Rubio at the one.
Speaker: Pat Bev at the two.
Speaker: DeRozan at the three.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: Dude, I forget again.
Speaker: We took Tyreek.
Speaker: Oh, Tyreek Evans at the four.
Speaker: And then we got Omri Caspi at the five.
Speaker: That team blows.
Speaker: You don't need big.
Speaker: We don't need big.
Speaker: We run small.
Speaker: We shooters.
Speaker: John Brockman on your head.
Speaker: I honestly should have picked these guards that I'm looking at your teams.
Speaker: You know, a bunch of small ball items.
Speaker: But we got Drew Holiday at the one, Jody Meeks at the two, Marcus Thornton at the three, Damari Carroll at the four, and Blake Griffin at the five.
Speaker: So your team would definitely have the best record if we, like, send this.
Speaker: Because, like, Drew Holiday can guard all of our good guards, Harden and Curry, and then you have the best big by far.
Speaker: Like, who's going to guard Blake Griffin?
Speaker: John Brockman?
Speaker: James Johnson.
Speaker: Taj Gibson.
Speaker: James Johnson.
Speaker: Yeah, James Johnson in his prime was beating the shit out of everyone.
Speaker: Yeah, that's true.
Speaker: All right, we're going to wrap it up with some wavelength.
Speaker: We'll do this very simple.
Speaker: We'll just do one guess per post.
Speaker: So we'll have four rounds of that.
Speaker: Any volunteers to be the first person to guess?
Speaker: Just doing the draft order.
Speaker: All right, I'm first.
Speaker: All right, I'm closing my eyes.
Speaker: Tolkien, you want to pick the number?
Speaker: Ready?
Speaker: Wait, which one is it?
Speaker: This?
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: All right, word.
Speaker: Good?
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Johan, give me a stretch big.
Speaker: A stretch big.
Speaker: Oh, we talked about him earlier.
Speaker: Tobias Harris.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I'm thinking like six or seven.
Speaker: Tolkien, give me a head coach.
Speaker: That's so tough.
Speaker: Who's the Knicks head coach?
Speaker: Thibodeau?
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I'm definitely at like five to six now.
Speaker: Maybe seven, but I don't think Thibodeau's at seven.
Speaker: Five to six.
Speaker: Dude, Thibodeau's gas.
Speaker: He's good at gassing his players out.
Speaker: Yeah, sure.
Speaker: Boobs, give me a sixth man.
Speaker: Yeah, though, give me a second for that one because I don't remember I was every sixth man in the NBA.
Speaker: Okay, I can change it.
Speaker: Yeah, change it.
Speaker: Yeah, that is such a tough question.
Speaker: How?
Speaker: It's just to start the best player off the bench or each team.
Speaker: That's really not that hard.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Oh, fine.
Speaker: Give me a team.
Speaker: Oh, a team?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: We're going to go with the Blazers.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Okay, I think Johan is just super bad at valuing my question.
Speaker: So I'm going to go five.
Speaker: Final answer.
Speaker: Johan's is the best.
Speaker: Six?
Speaker: You put the Blazers at six?
Speaker: Yeah, dude, that was horrible.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: They missed the playoffs.
Speaker: You put a six out of ten, see that mixed?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Bro, they're bottom eight team in the league.
Speaker: Statistically bottom eight.
Speaker: Seven and up is like –
Speaker: They missed the play-in.
Speaker: All right, whatever.
Speaker: Pelicans were six.
Speaker: The Pelicans were six.
Speaker: Bro, what did they got?
Speaker: Yeah, I like that.
Speaker: I think the play-in team is six.
Speaker: It's all good.
Speaker: All good.
Speaker: I like y'all.
Speaker: That was good.
Speaker: That was good.
Speaker: They threw me off.
Speaker: I like that.
Speaker: That was the point, bro.
Speaker: We're trying to make you win.
Speaker: My turn?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm good.
Speaker: All right, I'll go.
Speaker: Oh, no.
Speaker: It's Tolkien.
Speaker: It's Tolkien.
Speaker: No, it's Tolkien.
Speaker: You ready?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: The way Johan squints is so funny.
Speaker: All right, we got it.
Speaker: We're good?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Johan, give me a three-point shooter.
Speaker: Klay Thompson.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: So, like, eight or nine?
Speaker: Almost ten.
Speaker: Eight in the book.
Speaker: Like Klay Thompson's career or like Klay Thompson this year?
Speaker: Klay Thompson's career.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, something like eight or nine.
Speaker: Or 10, fuck.
Speaker: Jimmy, give me a team.
Speaker: Off of last season?
Speaker: Fuck.
Speaker: It's honestly tough.
Speaker: You want playoffs or regular season?
Speaker: Regular season.
Speaker: I'm going to go with Celtics.
Speaker: Dude.
Speaker: Boobs.
Speaker: Give me Coach.
Speaker: Fuck.
Speaker: This one hurts.
Speaker: I'm going to go Popovich.
Speaker: Fuck, dude.
Speaker: Is it 10?
Speaker: Fuck.
Speaker: I knew it, dude, because I was going to say 10 was bolstered for you, huh?
Speaker: Yeah, I would have said it.
Speaker: Why did you say this one hurts?
Speaker: Because I was going to say Malone.
Speaker: I was going to say Malone, and I did not want to say that.
Speaker: You still hate Malone, bro.
Speaker: This one hurts, and I was like, you really put Popovich above fucking
Speaker: No, 100% no.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm just good.
Speaker: All right, Yohan, you're up.
Speaker: Oh, is it Boobs?
Speaker: Oh, yeah, you're right.
Speaker: Okay, Boobs, you're up.
Speaker: All right, you're good.
Speaker: All right, Jimmy, give me –
Speaker: a team's legacy, like a franchise's entire existence of being?
Speaker: In terms of just pure success, like championships, what would you rate a team based on how long they've been in the NBA?
Speaker: I'm going to go with the Rockets.
Speaker: They had those Hakeem days and the Chris Paul and Harden days, so I'm going to go like a 7 or 8.
Speaker: 7 or 8.
Speaker: 7, 8.
Speaker: 7, 8, yeah.
Speaker: Johan, I'm going to go with a player's looks.
Speaker: Like how a dude, like one of the NBA players looks.
Speaker: I like how you willfully answered that question.
Speaker: You didn't even ask for a new one.
Speaker: I'll give him one.
Speaker: Chris Middleton.
Speaker: Bro, what?
Speaker: They got these nuts, bro.
Speaker: This wig was weird.
Speaker: All right, bro.
Speaker: I was at a seven or eight.
Speaker: Now I'm at a fucking four, three.
Speaker: Like, I would not hit that.
Speaker: Oh, shit.
Speaker: Tolkien.
Speaker: Let me go with a playoff performer.
Speaker: All time?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Or is that an ask question?
Speaker: Good question.
Speaker: Depends how you interpret it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Give me, all right, I'll change it.
Speaker: Give me a team, rate them one through 10, how they performed from 2010 to 2020.
Speaker: Stick with the playoff performer from last year.
Speaker: Just do that.
Speaker: Yeah, playoff performer from this year.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, this year.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Like, KCP, Aaron Gordon.
Speaker: Oh, shit.
Speaker: Aaron Gordon, KCP.
Speaker: Aaron Gordon's four years.
Speaker: I'm going to go.
Speaker: Aaron Gordon like went off in the finals.
Speaker: I'm still seven or eight.
Speaker: I'm going to go eight.
Speaker: Fuck.
Speaker: Dude.
Speaker: It was five.
Speaker: The Rockets were not an eight for their franchise.
Speaker: We had that.
Speaker: First of all, you can't say Aaron Gordon.
Speaker: That was terrible.
Speaker: Aaron Gordon was like a nine in the playoffs.
Speaker: And also, KCP was like a seven.
Speaker: And the Chris Middleton, bro, he's like a two.
Speaker: I was trying to bring it down because you set the bar high.
Speaker: The Rockets is a seven.
Speaker: They want two rings.
Speaker: Two rings is good.
Speaker: Two out of 50 years?
Speaker: They made the Western Conference Finals like 10 years, bro.
Speaker: They're good.
Speaker: Not a 7 or 8, bro.
Speaker: I give them a 6 or 7.
Speaker: Bulls?
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I guess.
Speaker: Alright.
Speaker: We can go one more each or we can wrap it up.
Speaker: Let's just wrap it up, honestly.
Speaker: I'm going to pass out.
Speaker: That's just Blossom's brain cells, that last one.
Speaker: Chris Middleton.
Speaker: I'm cutting this out for sure.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Thank you guys for listening to episode five.
Speaker: We'll be back for episode six once free agency kind of gets underway for moratorium.
Speaker: But be on the lookout for episode six.
Speaker: Thank you guys for listening.
