Speaker: But there's been so much life that's hit you over the last couple weeks? Mm-hmm. Couple weeks, few weeks, months, year? Mm-hmm. Sweetener out? Mm-hmm. Very soon? Mm-hmm. Life's too short.
Speaker: And just, you know, that. Like, life's too short. Be grateful and be happy and follow happy impulses and um the rest will sort itself out. like But how does that change how you live your life every day?
Speaker: I don't know. i just like, i feel very open and like, honest and chill. And like, I i feel like myself again, you know, i feel like for a while it was like, not so much. i understand. Yeah, but like now it's like, it's good.
Speaker: Like my mom cries when we FaceTime because like I'm so happy and okay. That's good. Like when you're like that good that your mom's like, hi, sweetheart. How are you? And like, I'm good. She's like, I can tell.
Speaker: I think it's like a combination of everything. I think it's like personal growth, spent a ton of time in therapy last year, which is great. Like working on yourself, rehearsing, like dedicating yourself to your craft, like just making healthy choices, you know? Was going into therapy an easy decision for you? Well, I've been in therapy since I was little and I like kind of became like a thing, you know? Yeah. Like a, I hate, you know? You mean a celebrity? It happened fast, you know, so I had a lot.
Speaker: It's kind of a scary period, like an adjustment period, you know? ah So I was in a lot of therapy then and ah Yeah, last year was rough and like yeah, got home and went back into it like hardcore. so Is it reinventing the way you use your voice?
Speaker: ah I guess it was just kind of like, um um yeah, I mean he pushed me in the best way.
Speaker: Reinvent. my look. You know what I mean? Like I would rather reinvent my sound and do what I am comfortable with. You know what i mean? Like I feel like I'd rather have people talk about my music and my sound than the other stuff, like the stuff that distracts, I guess, from the music. So it was really dope to meet someone who was so down to take me to the complete opposite side of the spectrum and try. i thought the album was done. Okay. Yeah, and I brought it to them and I was like, um,
Speaker: I was like, I love y'all. i want I want you to be a part of this. i It doesn't feel right. You know what i mean? I was like, i want to be with like everyone, you know? and Create with everyone before I decide the album is done in two days.
Speaker: And... um just went to hang out with them and like get excited for the meeting basically. And I was like, I want to write while I'm here. Like, let's pull up something. And they were like, oh, like they pulled up this thing called like single or something. They pulled up and I was like, oh, that's sick. I was like, that's cool. What story do you think Pharrell was trying to tell by helping you tell your story?
Speaker: Um, I mean it just sounds like me. You know what and i mean? Like he, even the songs that like I didn't write with him, like the songs that like he picked for me and um, that was just really special. I mean, I i love him so much. Like he's just just such a pure soul and like he really gets me. And so um...
Speaker: He's so happy around you. I also wasn't in like the best place like personally, so I didn't want to like bring that into the R energy. um So I wanted to just like work on myself during that time and make sure I was like my best self possible before I started all this back up again. because I hate making you worry. It makes me i like never, you know what i mean? um But yeah, um he's been very helpful to me. So when I went in that day, he basically, we made Get Well Soon.
Speaker: I couldn't do anything without music. I mean, it's, I can't even. Everyone's so quiet. There's no thought in my brain that can even, yeah, I mean music is part of you. You are a part of music. She was like, this is risque for you. And i was like, I know. And she was like, I'm very proud.
Speaker: And so, um, she was in Portugal at the time. and I don't know, Pete. Yeah. I look forward to meeting him. Yeah. And I want to, okay, he proposes.
