Here on In Defense of Ska, we love a good Mike Park story. So, this week, we bring on Chris Candy, Mike Park’s BEST friend. Chris Candy is an actor, musician and son of John Candy. (Yes, the brilliant comedic actor from Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Uncle Buck). Chris is a huge lover of ska. His early bands were all strictly ska. So, he came on to delight us was Mike Park stories.
We also talk about a lot of other things too, like photographer Hiro Tanaka, trips to Hawaii, Chris’ prog-punk band Chotto Ghetto, famous Stockton booker Middagh Goodwin, Vans Warped Tour, and the surprising story of how Chris started to direct music videos for Coldplay. Even Ralph Macchio is part of this story!
