Introduction and Recap

00:01:13
Speaker
Hello, and welcome to Ever On Renewed, an actual play podcast set in the Ever On Campaign setting. I am your game master, Eric. I'm Phillip. I'm Trevor. I'm Randy. I'm Jeff. And welcome to another episode. Gentlemen, what happened last time?
00:01:26
Speaker
We ran over the Ram with Tasha. Mm hmm. I mean, it's been a fight. The whole thing was a fight. The Ram and then this other character on a on a sore sled, sore sled. I was like, I was sore, sore, sore, sore, sore, sore, sore, sore. Who we know is a hobgoblin of indeterminate provenance. And just to clarify, it is an individual in head to toe
00:01:54
Speaker
Dargul armor. Right. But you did say it is a hobgoblin. Somehow we were able to know. He said it would be a hobgoblin type. Is that what you said? Yes. He was careful. And the ram has a fork in him, because he is done. More specifically, a cracked neck, but yes. I guess now we've got a Scooby Squad, this Dargul armor, to see what's hiding underneath.

Olive's Dilemma: Safety vs. Confrontation

00:02:20
Speaker
All right. I suspect it's old man Withers. Always.
00:02:25
Speaker
Uh, but yeah, that's where we left off in the middle of the fight. So we are going to pick up a third PC slot. Um, and we've had Eris and hob go already. So we have Reynard, Milo and Olive left to go. Olive has made it pretty clear that she does not intend to give chase on this individual. The danger is choosing to exit. And so she is willing to let that happen. So Reynard Milo. Um,
00:02:58
Speaker
I don't feel like I need to do anything at this second. Okay. I'm still exploded. Milo would like to take his wand and cast like a black beam out of his wand that kind of explodes into a net.
00:03:28
Speaker
Okay, to what end? To look cool. To like, on top of this character to, you know, to kind of... To ensnare them? Yes. So like a curse.

Milo's Misfire: Spell Gone Wrong

00:03:39
Speaker
So I'm pretty sure that there is a version of the curse spell that can get us there. But, there's gonna be some additional difficulties. Not rolling in a dice-based game.
00:03:57
Speaker
Yeah, I've got curse right here. I did not come here for this. And there may be misfortune reams additional to paralyze. There it is. Target is staggered for the duration of the spell. And staggered. Yeah, I think that means they cannot do an action or believe that it's correct. So that is going to be a four purple difficulty. OK. So we call daunting adversary. Thank you. So one red, three purple.
00:04:27
Speaker
So it's going to be your arcana skill against a one red, three purple difficulty. And you know what? He's prone. You're probably going to sense at a black die. Okay. So you've got four purple, three purple, one, red, and a black against your arcana skill against my arcana. And how many story points do we have? Four. Yeah. I would like to flip one. Okay.
00:04:57
Speaker
or brilliant casting. And that's going to add. Two blue. Two blue. Yes. Why not? It'll be interesting if something disastrous happens. Make it two red, two purple. So now it's two red, two purple and a black. Yep.
00:05:26
Speaker
That's a lot of dice. Well, I do see a triumph. And those are all advantage, yes. And that's advantage. There's no success. Well, the triumph counts as a success. So did you roll any failure? One failure. One failure. So just enough to cancel it. Three threat. So. No, three advantage. Three advantage.
00:05:54
Speaker
Yeah, three advantage and a triumph. Okay, so your black beam, the net does not land on the figure, but you have a whole lot of stuff that you can do. Another

Norsen's Explosive Mishap

00:06:05
Speaker
Skyskift lands on it. So the intention was to do this spell to impede his movement, so you can no longer impede his movement with this check. Right, so I cannot do that.
00:06:15
Speaker
can you disrupt the path that's not impeding his movement it just happens to be just make it to where it shoots his helmet off like that black beams got to go somewhere the spell deals damage that man yeah i would let you cause some debris or something to fall and block the the street that direction you're not directly preventing him but
00:06:39
Speaker
Um, it's going to, there's going to be collateral damage involved for that to happen. Really, really goofing up this part of sharn. Your, your home district. We're going to get the boys. Yeah. And the crowd has gathered like people are watching this happen. What about, um,
00:07:00
Speaker
say there's a, since there's already a crowd there, there's enough of a crowd that it would be very difficult for him to try to get up and get through them. But it might be easier for him to get lost in a crowd too though. It's true.
00:07:17
Speaker
In the crowd, it's only our friends. You see Owen and Kath, Son, and Verla. And all the Boromars, and all the Boromar clan. Is there anybody has anything? Feel free. I hate the idea of like re-impeding his path. I don't love it because we are really goofing up Sean.
00:07:45
Speaker
I'm not against a helmet poppin' off. A helmet pop off would be cool. Honestly, comic bookie. The only reason that I want this person is to figure out who they are. This could help with that.
00:07:56
Speaker
Yeah. So right as the burst, you know, Milo's never cast this in his life before. And right as it, he is expecting this net to pop out right as it does. It hits the helmet. Okay. And the helmet comes off. So yeah, the arcane blast hits the helmet and to make it more comic booky than just the helmet popping off, you see the arcane magic impact.
00:08:18
Speaker
is the helmet as it looks back and half of the helmet has been blown away revealing half of their face. And you look up and you all would pretty well recognize it's still obscured to where perhaps the crowd wouldn't be able to get a good view. But since he looks directly at you all, you see a human face underneath it. You see the face of Norse and Millhatch underneath this armor. And he kind of. And he just like dead stares at you, Milo.
00:08:47
Speaker
So that was your triumph. You still have three advantage left. You could pass an upgrade to the next person to act against. Norsen, you could do something else.
00:09:04
Speaker
Yeah, let's just pass an upgrade. Okay. So now we have a NPC slot. So it's Norsin's turn. So Norsin is going to
00:09:17
Speaker
reach underneath the pole and you get the sense he is not trying to lift the pole up. You see him yank and pull something. You see an orb in his hand that is pulsing with runic magic and things like that. And he is going to

City Watch Intervention: Flee or Face Consequences?

00:09:34
Speaker
chuck it towards you all. So this is something he crafted. So it's got an automatic upgrade to the difficulty because he didn't do a good job on the role I did. So
00:09:48
Speaker
Now I'm trying to think, Reinhardt is not as close to the rest of us, right? I think it's the three of us are fairly close to each other in Reinhardt. I think so. I'm sure we know each other. Yeah, he would target. Specifically, he's targeting Milo, but the other two would be in the blast. Sure. So this is the current pool. Three yellow, one green, one red, one purple. I'm going to go ahead and use my last one to make it for you.
00:10:17
Speaker
Yeah, flip one over. Success is inevitable. Let's just roll the despair. The ultimate. Four yellow, two red. You know what? I'll add a black since, you know, he's pinned underneath something. So it's an awkward position to throw from. True. OK.
00:10:36
Speaker
but it hit his helmet so he can't see out of one eye now because his helmet is cocked. Yeah, honestly. Also, he has astigmatism. He has astigmatism.
00:10:49
Speaker
Well, as somebody that suffers from a stickertism, I don't find that funny, Trevor. I have it too. I have it too, so it's my joke. Well, if there's somebody who's seen you throw, maybe you want to throw another black dice on there then. Okay, so we have advantage, advantage, a whole bunch of failure. Wow. He did not succeed. Wow. That is so unlikely. One advantage.
00:11:15
Speaker
And then that becomes just a failure on that guy.
00:11:21
Speaker
Five advantage, three failure. So. Wow, that is very unexpected. So I know what I'm gonna do with the five advantage. I'm gonna cash all of them in so the throw doesn't make it far enough to you. Like he's just. And so it clatters like a solid 15 feet away from you. That is so stupid. It explodes and that pathway of that district, the road literally just. What? And so there's like,
00:11:49
Speaker
35 foot gap. Like it was a huge explosion. And so you just see thousands of people below. Debris debris begin falling like and then you see him start push like trying to get out from underneath. And so I think it was essentially it wasn't you all didn't impede an actual condition on him. It's just this thing fell on him.
00:12:11
Speaker
So I'm going to say maneuver to get it off, and then he's going to stand up with a second maneuver suffering too straight. So he's not moving away yet, but he is out from underneath the pole and is standing and ready to go. So now you all have a big gap in the road in between you and him.

Escape Plan Debate: Stay or Go?

00:12:26
Speaker
How wide is the gap? I said about 35. Yeah, that's a gap. I didn't think we were that far away from him. Like I said, range bands are nebulous in the system.
00:12:40
Speaker
I figure Hobb can run more than 50 feet in a go. Well, it's Reynard in all those terms. Yeah.
00:12:48
Speaker
Um, so all of, yeah, go ahead. I said, I'm going to shoot an arrow at the, at his legs. Okay. Try to try to impede his movement by shooting an arrow. Not get away. Okay. So this is what's known as a called shot. So essentially you can, uh, aim directly for his leg with the intention of restraining him, like preventing him from being able to use the maneuver on his next turn. Uh, so this shot is not going to deal damage.
00:13:17
Speaker
And you add two black dye because you're aiming for a very specific part of his body. Okay. And that's your maneuver also. You're essentially aiming. Okay. Yeah. So it's going to be your short distance away. So one purple. Okay. And then you're ranged and two black. I got to start taking more ranks and stuff. You guys are rolling like nine yellow. I just make you a gadget to make you better at stuff. Here we go.
00:13:45
Speaker
That's what my artifice is. I just got it. And so I have three success and one advantage. Yeah. So, yeah, you fire your arrow and it just lands right in the gap, the armor right on his knee and just and he drops down to a knee as he begins pulling at that. He's going to go up in a bar. Yeah. And so it's clear. Yeah, he's not not going anywhere. Oh, it's very success. I was over something a little cooler.
00:14:11
Speaker
You succeeded in what you were trying to do. But three success. Let me double check the rules on the called shot. Does he does he take any damage? I don't know. I don't remember. It'd been cool if I went through one kneecap and just stuck in the other so he can't move. He's like he's like he's wearing a mermaid dress. I'm just like I have some idea of what an arrow inside you would do and he's not going anywhere.
00:14:35
Speaker
Yeah. The idea of running with something stuck in that joint at all. I mean, one of the things that an arrow inside you does is make you really reticent about pulling it out of you. That's true. They usually break it off.
00:14:49
Speaker
Um, it's actually much more nebulous than I thought,

Police Station Interrogation: Raynard's Deception

00:14:52
Speaker
uh, for culture. So you had three success and an advantage and an advantage. So you did actually deal 10 points of damage. Nice. He's not dead though, right? Okay, good. You all have not been hitting him that much. I mean, I would have been indifferent, but I feel like it's any more exciting if he's not dead. Um, and
00:15:11
Speaker
So, and then you were aiming for his knee. So it's just very nebulous in terms of what that means. It's kind of up to me to define. So what I'll say, rather than him just being restrained for a round, I'm going to have it emulate, uh, kind of like a critical injury where he had, he loses his free maneuver until his knee gets healed because it costs like it hurts to move. So he'll have to spend two strain for a maneuver. Okay. But I'm like,
00:15:39
Speaker
So are they there? The gap is in between them and him. Yes. He created a gap. Okay. Okay. So, uh, so it's going to take him a while to get away, but there's, yeah. So anyway, it is now Olive's turn. Um, hopefully she's been reinvigorated in wanting to stop. No, Olive's horrified. Like she wants to stop the fighting now because people are going to get killed. Yeah. Uh, so she's like, we need to stop this stop. Like he's trying to get away. Just let him go.
00:16:10
Speaker
More people are going to get hurt. What are you doing? Okay. Next round. That's all. That's just all it's take. You don't have to listen to her. She's not your dad. I don't think I will. I don't care for this guy. Top of the round. PC slot. Anybody can go.
00:16:34
Speaker
Who can get across this gap? Myla. Tasha. Tasha's not in the ship. No, but Tasha the bird can. Tasha the bird can, yeah. I mean, Tasha can stagger him, potentially.
00:16:47
Speaker
And the crowd is freaking out now. I mean, are they running? Please tell me they're running. Some people are running. Some people, yeah, are still sticking around because, you know, there are those people. But no one's doing anything to help stop the guy who just put a hole in the floor. Everybody give me a perception check as you kind of do its destiny journal. Yes, that's cool. I never seen it or never noticed. Perception.
00:17:18
Speaker
Uh, with a two purple. Oh, well, I didn't do anything but bad things. I have three success and one. So to failure. Yep. Okay. I have one success. I just doubled it. I believe I have one success and two advantage. Okay. Um, how are you doing on strain, Randy?
00:17:44
Speaker
Oh, I need to take advantage can heal. You can heal two points of strain if you want. I will do that. If you two, Eris and Hobb, just want to take one point of strain from Oh, my God. A bunch of people just died. Yep. You all can see those of you succeeded. Reynard, you're you're doing your thing. Those of you kind of looking and seeing you begin to see
00:18:08
Speaker
gold cloaks moving throughout the cra- the watches here and they are coming to investigate what's going on. Is the watch in Sharn really the gold cloaks? I think so, yeah, I think so. I want to say that's right. Are you thinking about the red cloaks? No, no, I know what the red cloaks are. I think the city watch wear gold or yellow cloaks. Are you thinking about the blue jackets? You all see members of- Are you thinking about the red coats? The yellow, the yellow jackets. The Columbus blue jackets. The Chicago Cubs. Yes. What are we doing?
00:18:32
Speaker
I don't know. Me neither. For those of you that wondered, what was different about us being around the table together? Yes. It's mostly this. We can all talk at once, and you have to deal with it now. Yeah, you all see members of the city watch beginning to move through. The crowd is starting to pop. The watch is now aware of something happening. So either somebody ran and grabbed them or...
00:18:59
Speaker
remind me because

Eris's Moral Dilemma: Stay or Flee?

00:19:00
Speaker
I'm not so versed in this particular location. Um, is the Sharon watch actually worth anything? Like the Sharon actually have a functional law department. Yeah, they have to have a decent
00:19:15
Speaker
Yeah, I mean it's not, they're not bumbling idiots or anything. They generally avoid this part of town. Like they mostly are an instrument to ensure that the upper parts of the city are doing well. But yeah, I think somebody just saw a huge chunk of the city go falling. Yes. No, I'm not questioning their arrival. You do not want to...
00:19:36
Speaker
Tussle with them, I guess, is the best thing. So they're not the Keystone Cops? No. Especially considering if you beat one up, then that's going to just... Oh, sure. No, I guess I didn't mean like, can we take them? I mean... Are they gonna do anything? Yeah. They will try to stop what's going on and yeah, there will be repercussions for... Which way are they coming from?
00:20:00
Speaker
behind us or on the other side where Millhead is. You see them kind of coming from all directions. All directions. Now it's not like there's 20 or 30 of them. There's like two coming up behind Norsen and a handful on your side of things, but they're still fighting their way through the crowd. They are not on you yet, so. I do believe that's the watch. It may be time to vacate.
00:20:29
Speaker
I want to see them get Milhatch. That would be fine, but I don't want to see them get us in the process. They're going to be seeing them get Milhatch from the ground as they get us. We know it's Milhatch and we know where to find him. We want to finish this at another time with less collateral damage.
00:20:55
Speaker
I mean, they're coming from all directions. Can we reasonably hope to get out away? You can still there's still enough time to disappear into the crowd like there's still crowd on the other is on the crowd on the other side of a 35 foot gap. No, there's crowd like you all are fighting on a street. So, yeah. And I mean, this is your all's home turf like I.
00:21:17
Speaker
if you all want to flip a story point and say there's an alleyway or a manhole cover or something. Or someone opens their door to us. We're thousands of feet above the ground. We don't want a manhole cover. How about flip a story point? There's a shop that has an old friend of Milo's. Okay. And they open the door and we can escape that way. Yeah. You see a shop door come flying open and there's a gnome that like looks out both direction like
00:21:47
Speaker
Milo, what are you? Grigio. All right, Milo's heading that way. OK. What's Olive doing? Olive's freaking out. She's not the kind of person that's just going to abandon you all, but she would certainly love to not be here anymore. So if it if it becomes clear that you all are leaving,
00:22:14
Speaker
and going to be in relative safety, then she's probably going to, she looks ready to. She won't be coming into Grigio's with us. Probably not. She'll probably take a different path. Unless you all really want her to then, I mean, if you say Olive, come on, then. I think that I would.
00:22:32
Speaker
say to Eris and Reynard, you know, make sure they noticed Milo got a door open for us. And then if either of them wants to invite all of them, I don't think like one of these two would be more likely to invite all of them. Okay. Being Milo and Eris. So that was Milo. Milo flipped his story point and took a maneuver to head into Grigio shop. So that's the first PC slot. And announced it. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah.
00:23:02
Speaker
I mean, I'll take the second PC slot to do the same thing. Okay. Okay, come on. I'll say Eris, we can watch it from in there. There's a window, right? Eris runs towards the ship. Okay. The ship has crashed on the street and Eris does not want that confiscated by the cops either. Okay. I was going to ask until this story point got flipped, like how long does it take for Tasha to go from bird to boat? Undefined.
00:23:29
Speaker
But also, Tasha's like in the air. So I've got to get Tasha. I got to like. Tasha has to come back. OK, there's areas need a hand with this because like, you know, what is the is. If Tasha. Could once Tasha is reattached to the boat.
00:23:48
Speaker
Can it just take off or is there something on top of it? Is it? Because it just crashed into the street. Right. Like ram flung up. Right. But which is if. If she yelled for her to help get this lamppost off of the boat, Hobb would come back out, do that is all I'm saying.
00:24:06
Speaker
but there's nothing on the boat. So hobby user maneuver to head towards the shop. Aeris is heading towards Tasha. Raynard, you're still on the street. I'll use a maneuver to, well, I guess I have to take strength. I'll use a maneuver to recall. Okay. Um, you see, uh, Norsen Raynard since you're not actively doing something else.
00:24:31
Speaker
Norsen reaches up to his gauntlet and like pounds on it for a second and you see the sore sled lift up off. What? Dispelled. Did you dispel it? I did. Okay. Okay. There's no magic in there. It's a rock. So yeah, he. It's just a sled now. And so he's going to take two points of strain to head towards the crowd and he's going to make a stealth check, I guess, to try and disappear into the crowd. That armor has got to be a setback, right? Yeah. Okay.
00:25:01
Speaker
Okay, I assume there's not a lot of people in full Dargul armor. Happily, a whole lot of people saw a guy in Dargul armor throw a bomb that caused that to happen. So it's not actually possible for them to blame us. Exactly. For the explosion. So a setback.
00:25:15
Speaker
Yeah, we could be seen as heroes trying to stop this guy. He's trying to destroy the city. I would rather be not seen at all. Well, of course. But it's unlikely we're going to be seeing it. Watch's perception gives it a one red, one purple difficulty. He has a one yellow, two green with a setback guy. I'm happy with that. I'm going to flip since I have a despair. Well, no, I'm not happy.
00:25:40
Speaker
Two yellow, one green, one red, one purple, one white. But he's very crippled. And he took his strain to go into it. Is he going to be able to stealthily hobble away? You're welcome. OK. And he smells. Put on there for his stinkiness. All right, I'm going to roll. He's just yelling. He's just yelling the whole time.
00:26:02
Speaker
That's a triumph. Dang it. Oh, but there's another success. So that is one success, one advantage, one triumph.
00:26:18
Speaker
Norsen kind of glares at you and. And I just go. Do you. Do you remind. You blow a kiss at him blowing the kiss. Yeah. And he turns into the crowd and you see him like take the helmet and chuck it off the edge of the street as he gets into the crowd and kind of disappears as it.
00:26:44
Speaker
Ventress behind. I feel like I have to be the one to kill him now. With the advantage, he's just going to heal a point of strain. And with the triumph, I think I know what's gonna happen. It's gonna be,
00:27:09
Speaker
a thing that happens at the end of this round, because I want to give Raynard and Olive a chance to act before this happens. Raynard, what are you going to do? Well, I feel like I was far enough away that I might be too close to the
00:27:31
Speaker
the city guard coming now. You're actually pretty close to the ship where Eris is headed or you could head into the shop. It's just going to be probably you'll have to suffer two strains to do two maneuvers to get up to the shop since you were a range band away from them.
00:27:47
Speaker
Then I guess I'll just jump on the ship. Okay. If she lets you, right? Eris just pushes me off. We're full for Basil. She turns her light off. Okay, so at that, because nobody said anything to her, Olive kind of makes eye contact with Eris and just gives a curtain nod and she uses the arms to reach up to the top of the nearest building and kind of fling herself up and over and she takes off into the towers of Sharn.
00:28:19
Speaker
The what? Eris looks devastated by that. So as the city watch on Norse inside get out of the crowd, they run up to the source lead that is parked on the sidewalk. Christ trying to get a little bit closer because the crazy guy is gone and anybody that's watching. You see some inert runes activate on it.
00:28:46
Speaker
And then there's another explosion. The source lead being destroyed. More destruction of the ground beneath it, more destruction of businesses around it, or is this just an implosion? This wasn't enough to take out the structural integrity of the street beneath it, but the city watch and a few people in close proximity were killed if not injured. So this was like contingency plan of that being left behind kind of thing.
00:29:15
Speaker
Um, okay. Um, Eris, give me a artifice check to get Tasha in, in the air quickly. Um, I assume that you're trying, like, obviously you could do this without any issue given enough time, but I'm assuming that she's trying to do this quickly. Um, is it not just mechanics? Oh, mechanics is fine. Yeah. Okay. Raynard could help if you like.
00:29:42
Speaker
Kenny though. If you don't want the blue dye, then that's fine. Since you're trying to do it relatively quickly, let's make it too purple. Radar's standing behind it ready to push start. We can do this. Right there, but I think that's.
00:30:05
Speaker
Uh, just three success, three success. Okay. So yeah. Um, Tasha fires up and, uh, gets up into the air. Um, as you, uh, I mean, do you just go up and away with the plan? I don't know because
00:30:35
Speaker
I'm not and I'm not sure Eris is entirely convinced that we should run. Okay, we shouldn't answer questions because we're entirely blameless in what just happened. And I feel like us fleeing the scene and leaving behind a dead warforged and a whole bunch of carnage is 9000 times more suspicious.
00:31:02
Speaker
dead war forged war hero. So more like that. Yes. See, this is why we can't take breaks like this. All I've been thinking about is the ram for like a month. And then we start playing and I forget he's there. Hobb would have absolutely brought the, can I flip a story before I say Hobb brought the ram inside as well. Hobb, let me just, now that I'm forced to do it this way, Hobb feels awful. Yeah. Hobb is like,
00:31:29
Speaker
Is this the encounter over? Yeah. Okay. Berserker gives me six strain at the end of my encounter. Hobbs over the edge messed up about what he let himself do to the ram. Can I flip a story point to say that I brought the ram's remain chassis inside?
00:31:48
Speaker
With me. It's a humanoid you can say corpse. I know I'm just Because yeah, I just everything just flooded back that I'd forgotten. Yeah. Yes because hob does not want The Ram This to the end of the Ram story as much as he is annoyed by him. He did not intend to Destroy him today. Yeah so That's yeah, and then he
00:32:18
Speaker
kind of passes out without actually going unconscious because his straight is very, very high and he doesn't feel good. So Grigio is in his shop. He's like, Milo, what are you, what are you doing? Well, we were attacked by a strange person in dog ghoul armor.
00:32:39
Speaker
Okay. And he blew a hole in the street. I'm sure people are injured a dead below and we just, I don't wish to get into trouble. So thank you for opening your door to us. You can use the back door if you want. I mean, head back there. Just, you know, remember. Well, always, always. And so
00:33:06
Speaker
Um, you, you're in there for this conversation happening. Yeah. He didn't hear it. Yeah. He just simply didn't hear it. He's staring at what he's done to the Ram. So Milo, you see, yeah, I'm staring at the Ram's body. I mean, is, can hob move still? He's just, he's just kind of, it's kind of out of it, kind of exhausted and hob does not get overwhelmed often. And it has certainly happened to today. So he's just pro,
00:33:36
Speaker
It's like, it's like a damn blockage of being able to process what's going on has fallen in his brain. Okay. Hob, we need, we need to go. Um, can you, um, can you help him? Did we have, did we make, why did this, um, Eris Ram, the Ram, Eris, we need you, we need you in here. The Ram needs, we need help.
00:34:12
Speaker
I mean, OK, so just so you know, yeah, from a world standpoint, you would note like Warforged are healed by the same. Means that you are like they are humanoid people, right? But I can't do that. That's why I'm asking Milo to help. And then knowing that there are also constructs yelling for errors. That's I mean, I mean, magically, that would be true, but surely not medically.
00:34:38
Speaker
Doing medicine, I mean, surely doing medicine on a warforged would not be the same as doing medicine on an organic human. Yeah, that's fair. But also, you know, like Raynard is also capable of healing magic. So Raynard could also be a cystist. But Hobbes, Hobbes brain snapped and the whole Raynard being trustworthy thing is new. So he didn't he didn't fall back to that since memory. So anyway, you get that heiress from the boat. The ram needs help. You don't hear anything back.
00:35:12
Speaker
The watcher is starting to break the crowd, Eris. So, Rainard, you also see them starting to break the crowd. You're in the boat with Eris, so. And you heard what Hop said. I think Rainard just turns to Eris and says, are we leaving or staying? I don't know.
00:35:43
Speaker
We didn't do anything wrong. And everyone saw him do like, why are we running? I have to agree with you. Oh, I don't know what that means. Who all heard that? We just, he's just talking. I mean, she's just talking. Okay. Do we, will you stay?
00:36:12
Speaker
I don't think we have anything to hide. Well, in this current situation, let's see what happens. Milo takes a peep out the window to see what's going on, and he still sees. Harrison Raynard out there, so well, they're not apparently not leaving yet. More importantly, you all you three see
00:36:39
Speaker
three city watchmen break through the crowd and look around and they spot the boat and you all and like, wait right there. Well, I guess that's been answered for us. Unless we're running. Running. They're starting to walk your way. I don't think that's the best move. All right. And Eris will sort of lean down
00:37:09
Speaker
Uh, and I want to, I want to transfer Tasha back into the bird chassis and have her fly off. Okay. Do I roll skullduggery to do it subtly? Uh, sure. And go ahead and roll a one red, one purple difficulty for their perception.
00:37:34
Speaker
There's no other means by which this boat moves, right? No, it's I mean, it's still just a sky cab. So it will still function. OK. She's she's essentially an A.I. Like she will fly it. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. That's so it can be flown by someone with piloting. Aeris is just not actually a very skilled pilot. Tasha is good for her. She's a bird. Huh. One success and three advantage. OK.
00:38:01
Speaker
So, yeah, I mean, Tasha is able to just like hug the lip of the boat and just drop straight down to where not seen at all. Tell her to fly back to the for sales. OK. So, yeah, then she would fly low and then like a block over. Yeah, you can just you can go approach in the window of Eris's old room or something. So, yeah, the the three city watchmen approach the boat.
00:38:32
Speaker
We received a call that somebody crashed a sky cab into the street. That's what you got a call about? The initial one? What? Not the madman throwing bombs. Okay. Yeah, we crashed. Yeah. Okay. They were madmen throwing bombs.
00:38:49
Speaker
there were madmen throwing bombs. Well there was one, only one madman throwing bombs. Okay, we're gonna take this slow. Clearly a witness to what happened, I assume you are too. I assume Raynard is still covered in like black explosion hair. Mad scientist explosion hair. And just says, might have been nearby. Yes. Okay, we're going to have you all come out of the sky cab and we'll
00:39:18
Speaker
We'll take you to ask him questions. OK, I think Hobb has enough of himself return. Hobb's not catatonic. Hobb had a panic and is back on board. You are at the window, so you witnessed all of this happen. Right. And I at some point during that, if they're actually town guard or watch leading these two somewhere, by that point, Hobb looked out the window and seen it and I think
00:39:48
Speaker
with you all. I'm trying to figure out what Milo's relationship in the past has been with town guard type people. You're a member of the mob. Like how well known is Milo? But my thought is
00:40:17
Speaker
We've walked into police stations multiple times. If we're not actively doing something wrong, I don't think we're necessarily concerned with the down watch seeing us. I have, I have no idea. I, sorry.
00:40:33
Speaker
Because, yeah, I mean, how many police stations have we walked into? Something to recall. In this specific situation where you would be voluntarily going into a police station under custody, Hobb has not afforded the same protections that the other three are. Right, right. I'm trying to figure out, gosh, there's like three things Hobb might do and which one's the least. Which one's the middle-dom is what I'm working at here. I mean, yeah, go ahead and think through your process. Just don't forget that you also have a corpse in there. Well, that is...
00:41:03
Speaker
Yes, I know. OK, so they are not not cuffing you or anything, just. Thank you. Just leading you through the crowd towards the the local lower Memphis Plateau station. I don't believe I can go out that hop. But it's fine, whatever you decide. Don't don't go out there.
00:41:37
Speaker
Milo, can you do something for him? Not magically. You could, you could make like a mechanics check or something to try, but I think you would have four green. I mean, I could attempt to try to do something, but I'm, I'm not very, very well versed, but I'm, I'm certainly willing to give it a try.
00:42:04
Speaker
How does actively trying to figure out if it would be beneficial to save the Rams life if he alerted the town watch that there's a dead war forged in here? I think he's gonna have to do that. Okay. I mean, I didn't do good at describing it, but there would have been a crowd gathered when you all were fighting the Ram. Right. So there would have been witnesses that right of the cause of death.
00:42:31
Speaker
It was self defense. So we're all okay. We all live in this world. We're all familiar with war force. We have a war force who is a close friend and associate of ours. My player understanding and I want to know if this is my character understanding. My player understanding is that there is actually no expiration date on repairing a war force because he is not decomposing.
00:42:55
Speaker
So is that my character understanding that a warforged could be repaired days after? I mean, that was probably with Eris's background and everything like that would be at least your assumption is they're they're they're wood and metal like and so they're yeah, they're they're not flesh and blood. OK, so right. And I think I've tried to make it pretty clear that Hob and magic have never been buddies. Yeah. And so all Hob knows is, yeah, they're wood and metal.
00:43:24
Speaker
But they're also magic, and I don't know the magic side has an expiration date. I mean, I live in a house, I know the wood ain't going anywhere. But the magic part's what Hob doesn't know, so that's why. And would have never had occasion or need to investigate to learn about, so he just doesn't know, and so he's concerned. Yeah, and I guess the distinction that Hob would know just existing in this world is,
00:43:52
Speaker
like Warforged are 100% of the time, except for, you know, I've been portraying people in this district as having certain feelings about Warforged, but in an actual lore standpoint,
00:44:03
Speaker
there's very little common thread that people attribute to like automatons or homunculi and warforged. Like warforged are people. With like, yeah. So. But in much the same way that if Raynard was dead, I wouldn't know how to bring that person back either. Yeah. Is what I'm saying. Yeah. Or how long I had to do so. Yeah. So that's. So. But we would have no reason to believe the watch had the means to resurrect a dead person. No.
00:44:35
Speaker
So they are beginning to lead Eris and Raynard through the crowd. They're about to disappear into it. I mean, you all know where the station is for, you almost surely know where the watch station is. So, I think, mostly because you know somebody that works there. I think maybe then what Hobb does is Hobb. The secretary. Verla, you gobbling, Jesus.
00:45:04
Speaker
Anyhow, that's grigio. Um. Can. Can he stay here? He pointing to the Ram. Yeah. Can you stay here for a for a for a bit? I guess go and take him into the back room there. Milo maybe payments this month don't need to happen.
00:45:32
Speaker
I hear he agrees. Okay. So, uh, so I think hob stows the body wherever he was told to, and then, yeah, starts trying to follow at a distance. He can't hide in the crowd. You can stay behind them if there's no reason for them to look around.
00:45:52
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, Goliath are unique, but not like, ah, so like he without ducking, he can't make himself invisible. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not that he necessarily stand. Milo, are you going with? Yeah, I'll go with hob. OK. OK, Raynard and Eris give me perception checks with a.
00:46:20
Speaker
Let's do average difficulty, two purple, two success, one threat. Point is straight. So I have one success or two success, one advantage. Yep. Okay. Um, so you both spot Myla. Did you say you were going to, so as you all are going around a corner, you all are able to spot, um,
00:46:49
Speaker
Hobb and Milo in the crowd kind of following at a distance, not making themselves super well known, but you know that they're there. You also spot coming down the other direction of the street. You see stashed somewhere. You don't know, but sans the tentacled arms, you see Olive kind of parked on the street watching from a distance, so. And no sign of Norsen.
00:47:22
Speaker
Okay, so unless you all are going to try to do something before arriving at the station, nothing of note occurs. You all are taken into a room.
00:47:34
Speaker
Um, one of the watch, uh, she says, do you all need anything? Well, it'll just be a couple minutes while we, uh, get somebody in here to ask you questions. Uh, I have a question. Just as a point of clarification, are we taken into a room or are each of us, each of you are taken into a question for, would they know who Dren year was?
00:47:57
Speaker
Uh, or at least if he looked like during year, they'd be like, okay, we know what family you come from. I'm going to say, don't you still, do you still have, am I remembering it? You still have a signet. I have a necklace. Yeah. Um, I mean, you're not marked. So you don't have like a dragon mark. So it's not going to be like, Oh, you're a member of, um, house. Um, but they're not going to be able to spot drain year.
00:48:23
Speaker
out of a lineup. Not in this district, not in this station. I was going to ask if I could use that to my advantage. Maybe like swaying, like I come from this family. I'll let you flip a story point to say that somebody got transferred down here from your old days. I was going to say flip a story point to say they would know who I was but not know the means of why I'm now different.
00:48:49
Speaker
Does that make sense? So not know that you've been kicked out of your house. Yeah, they still think you're... Yeah. So yeah, they got transferred down here before that happened. Well, I think as soon as that person sets me down, I'm going to say, do you mind if I go wash up? I'm covered in soot and explosion and... Sure. I'll escort you. And so she takes you to a washroom and stands outside while you go. Okay. How do our communicators work? How public are they?
00:49:16
Speaker
I. Oh, well, I mean, it's not going to be like telepathy. I wouldn't intend them to be real loud. Right. Well, I just I. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, it's. Hob Hob. I'm just saying, because Hob would know if it would be safe to be like just so you know, Milo and I are outside. If he thinks there's somebody within a foot of you, he knows better. Five feet of you, he knows better.
00:49:37
Speaker
Well, I also don't know if Eris has been disarmed in any way. I mean, Eris has walked in heavily armed. They would have taken the Fletcher and the yeah, they would have they would have confiscated weapons and things like that. OK, did they did they observe that I that my Vambrace is also a knife or check me a skullduggery check as they're checking you closest. One red, one purple. Since they're actively searching you, go ahead and add two black to that as well.
00:50:08
Speaker
It's there. Okay. Here we go. Oh, that's a triumph. Oh, nice. But oh, and yes. Okay. Wow. Uh, triumph and two success and two advantage. Um, no, three success. Oh, but the advantage are not actually there. So three success and a try and one of which is a track. There we go.
00:50:37
Speaker
Okay. So, so yeah. So they do not spot your Vambrace that has the weapon in it. What would you like to use the trial for? Um, they, uh,
00:50:55
Speaker
I'm trying to picture a Charne police station and what sorts of means they would have for detecting. Just the crapload of enchanted gear that the nearest walked through. Like, is there a while being? Do you walk through a magic detector? You all being career criminals would know that in the interrogation route, like the rooms where questioning is done and in the cells.
00:51:20
Speaker
Uh, there is anti-magic, uh, sure considerations made to where, uh, yeah, some magical items are not going to be as effective if work at all spell casting is not going to be as effective. But not in the washroom.
00:51:35
Speaker
Not in the washroom. Yes. And unless. Well, that answers whether you can communicate with us. Yeah. OK, he still tries. Uh, Ryan would be. All right, I'm going to throw this out there just in case.
00:52:01
Speaker
Eris's flash bombs being alchemical are not affected by this. Okay. I would like the option to flee this place in a hurry. Sure.
00:52:19
Speaker
Okay, so Raynard, what do you do in the washroom? Raynard goes into the washroom looking crazy and covered and washes off his face, turns the necklace, and walks out during year. Okay, nice. That was nice. Okay, all right, right this way, sir. And she takes you back to your holding room and puts you in there.
00:52:44
Speaker
Aris has gotten out one of her Artificing Tools that has a small blade and she is cutting her way up the side of the glove because
00:52:59
Speaker
I mean, it literally exploded. It caught fire with her hand inside. Yeah. So obviously we're PG-13. I don't want to get gruesome, but I've spent a month thinking about exactly what it's going to be like to get this glove off of her hand after several minutes. And what a place to do it. Yeah. Anyway, so she begins trying. I mean, she she knows this is a terrible idea, but she's got to see exactly how bad it is. And so she starts. I mean, that's what she's doing. OK. I will not get into the description.
00:53:29
Speaker
Do Hobsey, does Hobsey all of... Give me a perception check. You got it, I think. Two purple. Go ahead and add a blue since you are specifically looking for someone that is in the crowd. No, watch.
00:53:58
Speaker
Look at you, Trevor. So no, you do not spot all of it. Fine! Okay, that's gonna be on everybody's soundtrack. Then I just stand outside. Okay. Milo, are you just... Yeah, Milo is trying to be inconspicuous and
00:54:27
Speaker
standing, you know, outside. Okay. So after a couple of minutes, a dwarf, a dwarf man enters... I'm eating vegetables, so I'm still hungry. Eat your garbage. A male dwarf enters Eris's room as you're working on the glove and she puts her hand under the desk. Okay.
00:54:57
Speaker
It's just the mail dwarf he's just delivering. Here you go, letter for you. That's weird. Good night. Mondays, am I right? One of these days I'm gonna be on the top floor of this place. It's a very fast mail. So he sits down on the other side of the table from you, Eris says,
00:55:20
Speaker
So I understand that you were a witness to an incident. I'm hoping he will misinterpret this, but it's absolutely clear that it's very obvious that Eris has been crying. I'm hoping he will misinterpret the reason and that this will be helpful because that's the only hope I have of getting through this social encounter. So why don't you tell me what happened?
00:55:49
Speaker
that um man on a on a source lead in in armor was uh he was throwing bombs in the street uh one of them one of them went just I don't know it it it exploded just right and and the street fell out from under it
00:56:21
Speaker
Okay, I'm gonna flip a story point just to say that while on the scene somebody said something. Well, I believe that and I believe that what you're saying and we're gonna try to find that individual. I have here that the incident began when a sky cab drove down and hit a war forge in the middle of the street.
00:56:50
Speaker
Um, yeah, there's this warforged who was, he was going through our neighborhood, harassing people looking for, uh, looking for someone and, and I, um, one of my, he was, he was running at one of my friends and we had some, he's got, uh, he's a prize fighter and he's got,
00:57:17
Speaker
got it out for one of my friends and was attacking him. So it probably wasn't the smartest thing, I guess. Probably that's my cab bubble, but it's what I thought of in a moment.
00:57:36
Speaker
Okay, cut to, uh, the dwarf walking in. Well, when I took this assignment, I never once thought he'd sit in the same room as Draenor to fear Linniget. What are you doing down here? Well, I have gotten myself in quite the pickle, haven't I?
00:58:02
Speaker
Yeah. Yes. I was down here just looking for some new restaurants to invest in, you know, gentrification, clean up the neighborhood, all of that and happened upon. They don't say that. But I am trying not to think I'm supposed to be here. Continue. Common people starts playing.
00:58:32
Speaker
Try to convince them I'm still part of this house.
00:58:40
Speaker
before that interruption. Drain your senses, the cosmic interruption. And I happen upon this horrid warforged, just walking through the streets, terrorizing these people. And honestly, the whole thing is quite the blur. You saw the state I came in, explosions everywhere. But I just have to say, the girl I came with acted very heroically, trying to save all of the people she could.
00:59:11
Speaker
Uh, I, I need a deception check, uh, please. And thank you. Why? That's the truth. I don't know about me. There's one bit of lies. Fine. Also I charmed him into thinking. If you would have told the truth, then sure. There's nothing honest about being charming.
00:59:40
Speaker
What is my deception? That's a take. You know, you just learn a lot about Trevor sometimes. He just throws it in there. Charming can be very manipulative. It can be. It doesn't have to be. And when we're char- And when we're being manipulatively charming in an RPG, we roll deception.
00:59:55
Speaker
I mean, you could use the truth to manipulate people. Well, this is my. OK, so the. He's in a cop who does interrogations regularly, so it's going to be a too red difficulty. He's he's also a fan. Though, so at least a boost, right? I didn't say fan. I said he was aware of. I can't believe I would ever be in a room with Dranyard, Harlan, the Guardian, but.
01:00:21
Speaker
He knows that prosecuting someone who's a member of the house is gonna be a pain. And I don't think he has any reason to suspect otherwise that I'm, why would you think I'm lying to him? Okay, go ahead and take two blue for the multitude of reasons given. Okay, so that is one yellow, two green, two blue, two red. Do it. Would you like to flip a story point to make one of those yellows, or one of those greens a yellow? Yeah.
01:00:52
Speaker
If this is going to be successful, we'll see. Yeah, it's hard to roll like this. What am I doing? Oh, fun. I think that's okay. I didn't roll any failure. Those cancel. No, no, no. These cancel. So for success and advantage. Wow. Now he's a fan. So what would you like to use the advantage for? Um,
01:01:19
Speaker
He ate up everything you said. Okay, this is probably more of a triumph situation. I know that sounds weird, but I really want Basil to be around somewhere. That would be more of a triumph situation. Yeah. Because he's not actually a cop. He was doing the same shady thing. Or flipping a story point, but you all only have one background. Okay, it's just one advantage. And also, I feel like Basil showing up randomly would be me flipping a story point.
01:01:46
Speaker
I mean, I have an idea. It may not help me in this correct situation, but. Okay, so. I think I'm just gonna send it to Eris on her next trick. Boost, okay. Yeah. So he notes everything that you're saying is like, okay, interesting. I wouldn't invest in this neighborhood, by the way, having been here for a while. Well, I found that out. Yeah, places falling apart, mainly from the bombs. Okay, cut back to,
01:02:16
Speaker
Eris. Um, so you, um, actually before we cut to Eris, you two cut to, um, you all are out front. Um, you know, I just want to clarify. We're not just standing there staring at the, standing in the window. Are they coming out yet? You see quite a few people coming in and out to giving accounts and all that kind of business.
01:02:43
Speaker
Um, you all do also spot without the need of a check. Um, you see, uh, walking towards the building still a distance away, but you figured this is where she said you see Verla headed into the building. Um, if you would like to do anything with that, if not, that's fine. Just wanted to present it. I don't know the rain arts playing dress up in there. So otherwise I would stop her. So, um, okay.
01:03:05
Speaker
Uh, cut to Eris. Um, so he's sitting there and he looks at his notes. Okay. So, um, the warforged, now you mentioned the warforged who was committing assault and all that, that you tried to intervene overdoing it a bit. I think we can both agree. Um, what was she supposed to do? Punch him? Now where, at what point did he leave the seat? Cause we, we can't,
01:03:35
Speaker
Spot it. I don't know, actually. I saw. The guy on the source that arrived and that. And that's what I was paying attention to, because it seemed like that was. That was a lot worse. You know, the bombs. I knew, yeah, so you don't know what happened to the war forge.
01:04:06
Speaker
I don't. Okay. So obviously you're omitting. I'm omitting stuff. True. Not outright lying, but you're not saying, I don't know what happened to his corpse. So I'm willing to negotiate the check in this instance if you would like to.
01:04:30
Speaker
Well, I mean, Eris' only useful social skill is negotiation, and it's definitely not what's happening right now. So it's obviously it's- I'm not saying negotiation is the skill, but rather- No, no. I mean, deception is as good as anything else. She's got three and cunning. So we'll do deception. And the boost.
01:04:46
Speaker
Yeah, you do get a boost from Reynard unless he's an artificer in which case I can use mechanics as a social skill He is a detective. So no, but he's like a Artificer in his spare time. You are not visible for this check No, I would like to revisit Verla coming up in a moment. Okay What is the difficulty to read?
01:05:16
Speaker
You have a blue, you have a boost from Raynard. I have a boost from Raynard. And... Do you have one story point left if you'd like to flip it? Sure. Flip it and then give it back to us. Oh, right. Alright. Um...
01:05:45
Speaker
one failure and three advantage okay um so he knows that sorry four one failure you know that you're he knows that you're obstructing the truth like yep but four advantage yep so what would you like to uh
01:06:17
Speaker
And it was all just very, very distracted. And then my, um, my glove malfunction.
01:06:25
Speaker
Ah, oh, my God. God, there's more than one and all of them were looking the other way to the one about hand. The Greeks had one. I. We need to get somebody to come take. I'm going to get a member of Drasko to come in here and take a look at that. So just one second and he gets up to leave. OK, Verla is approaching the door.
01:06:55
Speaker
Yes, Verla's approaching the door. Have you statted her out? Does she have a character sheet? Yeah. Is her willpower equal to mine? Which her willpower? Two. Yes, she has a three. Okay.
01:07:08
Speaker
So not equal, but greater. Well, then no. What? Oh, sorry. I'm trying to do the thing where I can convince one bystander just to go away. It's my third tier's talent I've never gotten to use because apparently I have the least willpower in shorn. Despite being an ascetic monk.
01:07:33
Speaker
So yeah, it's gotta be equal to my willpower for her to depart quietly. If she's not, then let me double check. Or, I mean, you're the boss. Take a plausible deniability action. Make a hard coercion check to convince one bystander equal to your willpower to depart quietly.
01:07:53
Speaker
Is that to say one bystander per point of willpower that he has so he can convince up to two by. Is that what that means? Yeah. OK, see, I was reading it in the same way as still equal to your silhouette. No, like equal to the number of. Well, then I've been playing this for a while. That's fine. OK, well, then in that case, I would I would like to go up to her and I would like to just say. I have to word this in a coercion manner like I can't be charming. OK, I can't be charming.
01:08:23

I mean, you could just make a charm check instead of using this talent if you like. Well, no, I wanted to use a talent. Okay. Because it's more likely to work because I get to use coercion, which is my bronze skill. Um, so I couldn't just be like, Hey, they need you. Yeah. I'm glad you have to be coercive in some manner. What does that mean to you?

Speaker
I'm being genuine. Intimidating, like threatening. She's a cop. I know. A detective. It's like, yeah. I mean, in the normal circumstance of this threat, it's looking at people who just witnessed you commit a crime and go, walk the other way, like, or I will. Right, I know, I know. I think that Hob, you're probably gonna tell me this is a coercion, but we're gonna give it a try.
01:09:11
Speaker
Hobb would know who is the big dog for this precinct, right? Yeah. What's their name? Jacoby. Jacoby, Derek. Are you talking in terms of like the police or in terms of? Yeah, sorry, I'm the commissioner. Yeah, yeah. I'll get my name. Okay, Jack. Sure.
01:09:38
Speaker
You can tell me, if this isn't coercion, we're cutting literally all of this, because it's just not worth watching me flounder. I'm sure someone likes it. Randy does. I'm listening intently. If I were to run up to her and be like, oh, really? Hey, I just saw Jack be going there and he looked pissed. You might want to take a walk. I am appealing to an intimidating thing
01:10:08
Speaker
I'm looking at the word coercion. But you're actively lying. It's deceiving. Well, yeah, but I'd also be actively lying if I said to somebody, you don't leave, I'm going to kill you. But that's still coercion. I wouldn't actually kill them if they didn't leave. They're just some peon. Sure. Whatever you want. Sure. Go ahead and roll. I mean that. It's a hard check. Yeah, go for it. OK. And you know what? I have too many of these. Upgrade one of them to a red. Yeah, you got it, bud.
01:10:34
Speaker
I'm just glad I get to finally use it, genuinely. One red, two purple against your coercion. No, it's a failure with two advantage, right? No, two success.
01:10:48
Speaker
Oh, I I cancel out the wrong. Yes. So it's two success and and a threat and a threat. OK, yeah. Yeah, I was just reading. I crossed the symbols. Yeah. Pop a point of strain for the threat. OK, what are you at? 10 out of 12. OK, nice. Verla kind of stops and looks at you. I heard that there was. Something big happened in the district, I guess he's up and about that.
01:11:17
Speaker
Thanks, Hob. And she turns and goes the other way. Verla will remember this. OK, so. I don't know if that helped you or hurt you, but Verla's gone. I think she knows her in here anyway. OK, we're going to call the episode there.
