Once again, NO SPOILERS! We talk most things Fantastic 4 but we haven't seen First Steps yet! We are both fans of the comics and the few cartoons we got so we'll have to check in next week to get the ratings on the new movie! Hopefully it goes better than the fiasco that was the Superman episode. And the real story of the Fantasticar Christmas gift comes out! Turns out one of us is getting old and losing his memory...

00:02:08
Speaker
But it's fun. It's fun for the listeners. Yeah, it's all right. That would be Oscar Madison from The Odd Couple. Oh, of course. Right. Okay. Yeah. It would have been before he was a cast. He wouldn't have been a tv sportscaster because they were still just writing in the paper.
00:02:23
Speaker
I was thinking, what's his face from the Mary Tyler Moore show? And I thought, well, no, because he was the on air sports guy. He wasn't the reporter. So I'm like, oh, no. i think Gordy wrote his own, his own, uh,
00:02:35
Speaker
did he and yeah his own segments because he was always working on them in the background i was gonna say he had his own desk he did oh and he was working so that that's how he was a cancer and it's the right thank you no no it's it's oscar madison yeah i loved that show when was a kid by the way i don't know why it was just fun i watched it but i don't remember that's like your superman answer i remember their apartment Yeah, it was a great apartment.
00:03:03
Speaker
I just didn't understand why they lived together. I didn't get that. Yeah, you got to watch the the original movie understand it better. Yeah, because the movie kind of lays it out, which is based on the play.
00:03:14
Speaker
Fantastic play, fantastic movie. Is it Neil Simon? Yes, it is. Yeah, figures. Yeah, it's classic. Yeah, the the movie the the movie of the play is brilliant.
00:03:24
Speaker
Yeah, cool. Okay, so your last Okay. okay ah department store interior designer oh uh rhoda morganstern that's right from what show uh in color the mary tyler moore show exactly awesome you get one of those yeah i i loved rhoda she was the best best friend oh yeah everybody loved rhoda yeah she was her mother
00:03:56
Speaker
Yeah, Mrs. Morgan's turn. Yeah, yeah. Oh, man. And her her aunt, root who was being played by ah Ruth Buzzy. Really?
00:04:07
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, I don't remember that. Okay. Yeah. Oh, he was amazing. All right. So that's that's our initial quiz. We're going to jump right into the show. Just give me one second. I got to hit the button.
00:04:21
Speaker
Hey, don't turn

00:04:37
Speaker
So grab your honeycombs and your favorite Micronaut and sit back and enjoy.
00:04:43
Speaker
All right, everybody's got their Micronauts. Now we have to count down to our next topic. Four. That didn't work because that's not really a countdown. We're going to talk about Fantastic Four.
00:04:56
Speaker
Oh, nice. Okay. Right? right. Something exciting for one. Isn't that fantastic? The episode's called That's Just Fantastic. and Fantastic. Yeah. Yeah.
00:05:07
Speaker
All right. So there's there's a chunk to talk about. Obviously, by the time this airs, the movie would have been out, but we haven't seen it yet, so we don't have any spoilers. So don't worry. This should be a spoiler-free episode.
00:05:20
Speaker
But I heard that Herbie the Robot is in it. Herbie the Robot. that' it But that speculation really yeah a role it's not really ah spoiler, is it?
00:05:32
Speaker
I don't know. That's just what I've heard. so I'm going to take a wild guess. um I'll just ask you now. Did you see the Fantastic Four movie? Which one? The new one.
00:05:45
Speaker
Have I seen it? No, no, no. Well, so there we go. So we're off to a good start. You don't hate it yet. No, I don't hate it yet. i don't I don't really care for what I've seen, but I'm keeping an open mind.
00:05:56
Speaker
I love a good stylized show. So when one division came out, I just flipped over because to me that that show started off with such a cool, you know, interesting vibe. I'm like, I have no idea what's going on, but they're living in all these these television shows and I love it. And so this kind of gives me that kind of weird vibe. And yeah, that.
00:06:19
Speaker
I didn't make it to the end of that series. It wasn't by choice. it just kind of but happened. So i never I never saw it through to the end, but i certainly saw the bulk of it. Yeah. And the thing is that that cool sort of, you know, TV sitcom thing goes away. Yeah. And then it turns into, it you know, the the sort of the Marvel story of WandaVision. But it it started off so cool.
00:06:43
Speaker
I thought the guy who played Vision was really cool. Oh, yeah. He's amazing. He's he's so incredible. the um Okay, so you obviously are a fan of the Fantastic Four.

Fantastic Four Comics and Memories

00:06:54
Speaker
i don't remember when that started. I was a little kid, and for some reason, Fantastic Four blew my mind.
00:07:03
Speaker
And i don't know if it's because i I'd inherited my uncle's comics when I was a kid, and he had mostly Marvel, or if it was because I caught something on television, but something made me go and read every single thing I could find in the fantastic four.
00:07:22
Speaker
And then there was a, there was like a paperback size book out when we were kids that printed reprinted the first six issues. And I think I reread that book for like two years for some reason at that age. I was pretty young.
00:07:39
Speaker
Um, That family and their stories just just hit, you know, and I was obsessed with Fantastic Four. And then i was a little put off because then we got that one animated series with Herbie the Robot.
00:07:56
Speaker
And I was so disappointed that the Human Torch wasn't in it. And i didn't understand why he wasn't in it. And it was like, oh, no, like i like I couldn't wait for Saturday morning to start so I could see that show. And then they're like, and introducing the newest member of the group. I'm like, what?
00:08:12
Speaker
So anyway, um but yeah, I so so I've always said the Fantastic Four only works in the 60s. I've never I've never felt that it it does well outside of the 60s.
00:08:27
Speaker
And so I'm kind of curious what this new movie is like. because i just find that the, the, it has the fanant fantastic four hasn't aged well, like for some reason it doesn't, it's not a very modern sort of group of characters. Um, so I feel like when you put them in the sixties, it's incredible. And you try to bring them up to date. And for some reason I'm like, Oh, that doesn't really seem to be working.
00:08:52
Speaker
Maybe they're not, strange enough or unique or whatever, but put them back in their period. And it's just, I just think it really, really works. Um, but I'm usually pretty kind on any version of fantastic four that comes along.
00:09:07
Speaker
Um, I don't know that there's been anything other than that one animated series that I didn't like. Um, I know the, the first couple of movies were a little hammy. um I did like the last one, the the Fox movie.
00:09:21
Speaker
um know I thought, oh, I'm going to hate this movie. i actually liked it. so um So yeah, ah when I was a kid and I and i so went to the comic store, sorry, the newspaper store, and saw that there was modern Fantastic Four comics. So this is maybe like 1978.
00:09:40
Speaker
I was like, wow. And I bought them like crazy. Like just, I couldn't, I couldn't get enough. i couldn't get enough fantastic for when I was little. And when I would go to the flea markets and find old issues, you know, it's just like, I just, I read and read and read and read because I just loved it. And it was something about them, you know, and again, I'm not a Marvel guy.
00:10:00
Speaker
um but for some reason, you know, that family just, meant the world to me when I was a kid, you know, and I did have, had a, I had a couple of coloring books.
00:10:14
Speaker
There wasn't much, you know, I didn't have the Migos, you know, I would have killed to have them. I did get them later years, you know, I don't have them anymore. And of course there's unlimited, action figures, you know, that have been on the market for years and years.
00:10:29
Speaker
Actually, here's a little story. When I was living in Vancouver, And the Invisible Woman action figure was like impossible to find. I scored her at a comic store on Granville Street.
00:10:41
Speaker
And here's Robin Williams beside me saying, what action figure should I buy for my kid? And I'm like, well, I'm buying this Invisible Woman because she's really hard to find. He was like, OK, I'll take one of those, too.
00:10:53
Speaker
and that was my you know brush with Robin Williams. Celebrity sighting. Yeah. Yeah. You know, toys just bring us all together. Yes, they do. Yeah. So anyway, that was ah that was a long answer, Josh. I apologize.
00:11:07
Speaker
No. But i do I do have such a spot in my heart for Fantastic Four, but it really is the original 60s Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, you know, maybe the first 50 issues of that comic series that just...
00:11:24
Speaker
to me, they it could do no wrong. And they introduced so many characters so early. I'm like, how do these two guys just come up with ideas after ideas after ideas, you know, and, you know, all this originality and,
00:11:37
Speaker
You know, anyway, i I'll let you talk. I apologize. No, hey, no, that's that. I mean, that's what we're here for to hear these great stories. I I also grew up loving Fantastic Four. I think that I was probably mostly introduced to them through the Hanna-Barbera show.
00:11:55
Speaker
Yeah, I love that show. Yeah. And then I know that I had comics and I wasn't a big comic book guy, but I know that I had Fantastic Four comics because I loved reading them. And it's so funny because I was thinking about, you know, we were talking last week about Superman and we were talking about toys.
00:12:13
Speaker
And I was going to say the only Superman toy I had was a towel because i would just, you know, put on that cape and just run around flying. And i we played Fantastic Four all the time. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, yeah. And one poor guy always had to play the thing, ah and he didn't like it.
00:12:33
Speaker
um Terrible name. Seriously. And we didn't have any girls playing with us at the time, so... no public She was invisible. Exactly. We just pretended she was there. But yeah, i remember. And we would always play that. We're stretching going. wo it's So fun because it was so cool.
00:12:51
Speaker
I think part of what what sort of tied them together and made them so interesting as well was because they all had the same uniform. and it wasn't like other sort of you know a comic hero groups where they all wore different things or they were all completely different yeah this family all wore the same uniform and they had a number four on their chest i'm like that's so graphic and so cool yeah and I loved it and I just they they were always you know taking care of each other and protecting each other and and so was always putting a dome over them ah yeah that's all could do
00:13:27
Speaker
yeah that's all she could do but it was cool there was a period in the 60s where johnny changed his costume it was the same costume but it was red and yellow and instead of yes them and i'm like oh that looks really cool you know it didn't last very long but i'm like that's really neat you know but you're right you know it was that sort of but what do you call that? Like uniformity? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. uniformity You know? yeah That, that yeah, absolutely. It was really cool. i used to love in the comics, they would do a breakaway of the Baxter building and it would show like all their vehicles floor after floor. And, you know, I'm just like, wow, so much more than the back game.
00:14:11
Speaker
I remember, and i I, I could be totally wrong, but I remember you buying the fantastic four toys in the late nineties, we, I think we went down to the U S and one of our toy runs and we're at a toys arrest and we were trying to get you the, the vehicle, the great big gigantic family vehicle. Yeah. Fantastic car.
00:14:34
Speaker
And I think we found one that the very last dumpiest toys are us in Buffalo. What we found was the Johnny storm 10 inch figure.
00:14:47
Speaker
yeah which is a little more rare than the human torch figure. But Josh is forgetting that he got in his car in a blizzard and drove to Buffalo and bought me the fantastic car.
00:15:02
Speaker
That's what it was. We weren't together. i went down. i remember. Okay. Yes. Yeah. And surprised me on Christmas morning with the fantastic car. And I was just blown away. And then when I found out it was that horrible storm,
00:15:15
Speaker
yeah Storm, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm um that you went down there. Sue protected me. I was okay. ah Yeah, right on. i was just like, I was upset, but I was just like, that box was huge. And it was, I worshipped that toy. Of course, I never opened the box.
00:15:34
Speaker
no But just knowing it was inside was good enough because the graphics were beautiful. But yeah, yeah but that that's when like toys were just everywhere like like there you couldn't keep up with all that production you know so much stuff but yeah that was that was an incredible piece and and yeah and that's probably why i remember that because that was a cool find i was at the very last store and it was a blizzard and i was driving my little tiny nissan micra yep i never got it here you know so
00:16:07
Speaker
and we we used to go a couple times a year down to the u.s s to get our toys was so much fun yeah you know it was just night and day compared to canada and new product all year round whereas here you only got new product at christmas which changed years later but yeah yeah at the time you had to wait till september october for new stuff whereas in buffalo they're getting stuff all year round oh yeah Yeah.
00:16:33
Speaker
Yeah. Those toy runs were awesome. And like everything got product, like just totally every single TV show, like every single one every single thing, every movie is everything.
00:16:46
Speaker
Got product. Yeah, it was it was very cool. Yeah, so I have that very distinct memory of of that fantastic car. Yeah, yeah. that Super awesome. Super awesome toy Huge, huge box. And any little kid have been blown away. It would be like the battle cruiser to them.
00:17:03
Speaker
you know, of the Micronauts. to Or when you see the pictures on Instagram where people are sitting beside their GI i Joe, um what was it called? The the the flatbed carrier. Oh, right. Four feet long.
00:17:16
Speaker
And the kid's only two feet tall. Like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like, it was amazing how many play sets were just enormous back then. Yeah, they were totally amazing.
00:17:28
Speaker
Now little action figures are 30 bucks. Oh, yeah. And they're all like Pokemon sized. Yeah. um So did you know there was also a radio show in the 70s?
00:17:40
Speaker
No, that's interesting, though. And it's funny that it was the 70s. I mean, I had the record, you know, like the the story and the record. of Fantastic Four, which was the origin of course, and the whole man story, but no, I didn't know there was a radio show. I thought that was interesting.
00:17:58
Speaker
Yeah. Funny that that would be so late, you know?

Fantastic Four in Media: TV and Film

00:18:02
Speaker
Yeah. It was, uh, it was apparently from 1975. ninety seventy five It didn't last very long and it had Bill Murray. So that would be Bill Murray from Saturday Night Live, um, as the human torch.
00:18:13
Speaker
Mike, but isn't he like 80? I was going to say, good guitar well yeah. yeah it was like He was a kid back then. He had the youthful voice they were looking for. Yeah, exactly.
00:18:24
Speaker
Now pretend you're on fire. And in 79, here's another weird little ah thing. The Thing was featured as half of the Saturday morning cartoon Fred and Barney meet The Thing.
00:18:36
Speaker
That is a brutal memory. the a That was when he was a teenager. They made they made Ben Grimm a teenager and he had a ring. that when he put the two pieces together, all these rocks came flying at him and he became the the thing. Yeah. Thing ring, do your thing.
00:18:53
Speaker
And then he became the thing. And it was like, oh, I can't, you know. Okay. Like the thing meets the shmoo and like, you know, smacking rings together was the coolest thing.
00:19:07
Speaker
hey Well, it worked in Shazam. know There was, there was other other characters that did it. Didn't Jen and Zena do it? Yeah, but they didn't have rings.
00:19:20
Speaker
Oh, they just had friendly hands. It was funny because like they activated their powers by touching, but they were constantly bumping into each other. And I'm like, Hey, how come you're not changing? Right? Like how come it's not activating right now? yeah exactly. Exactly.
00:19:34
Speaker
So you were saying, did did did you like the 1994 Fantastic Four origin movie? Okay, so I've never seen it proper.
00:19:45
Speaker
i Back in the day, I was buying any magazine that was featuring that movie coming out. And then it was like, where is that movie? you know And then, of course, it never came out. And you know the legend is the legend.
00:19:57
Speaker
I have a documentary on the whole story, which is a fun read or a fun watch. But there's been, I guess I've seen so much of that film and clips. I feel like I've seen it.
00:20:11
Speaker
um but i just think it's such a strange hollywood story that you know they made it just to keep the license going and everybody in it thought it was a real movie and was going to be released and then it was like nope this is actually never going to happen and i'm surprised they haven't released it proper like you would think after all this time right just release it yeah there's so many bootlegs like why not just make a little bit of money right so it's a little weird, you know, but no, I've never really seen it.
00:20:42
Speaker
Um, it's definitely very dated looking, but I wouldn't have cared at the time. You know, I would have enjoyed it. I'm sure. yeah totally. But the, the animated ones that were out at that time weren't bad, but France put out that fantastic for animated series, like maybe around 2000. I can't remember.
00:21:02
Speaker
That was really good. That was a really, really good version. Yeah, I don't think I recognize that one. Yeah, there's been a few, but that one's really good. And so the 2005 Fantastic Four, liked that
00:21:16
Speaker
yeah you liked that one
00:21:21
Speaker
That's the one that got this the sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer. Well, I don't like What's-His-Face, so that's a problem. ah The guy who plays Captain America all the time.
00:21:32
Speaker
um Chris something? ah Chris Evans? Probably. So I had a problem with those movies. And he played Johnny. Yeah, because of him, I had a bit of a problem with those movies.
00:21:44
Speaker
They're okay. I haven't watched them very very many times. I don't hate them. I don't hate them. No. I think the casting for Reed is okay. The casting for Ben is okay.
00:21:59
Speaker
Sue, you know, Johnny, no, no, no, no. um Doom is fine. But to be honest, I like that last box movie for Fantastic Four. So I just felt like it was like a I just thought more science fiction that last film.
00:22:15
Speaker
I liked it. Yeah. i mean tigerish too you know yeah I mean, I was really excited that they made a movie in 2005.
00:22:26
Speaker
It was okay. And then I was excited. Well, I'm like, okay, they're doing a sequel. I'll go see the sequel. I wasn't like a fan of Silver Surfer.
00:22:37
Speaker
No, but the world is, right? Yeah. I had some of the comics, but i so I knew who it was, but yeah didn't really have any any sort of you know investment in it. And it was not it was not great. It was not a very memorable movie, as we were saying before. Like, I couldn't tell you really anything that happened.
00:22:54
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. they're They're like, they're all right. You know, I just. Yeah, I don't really know what else to say about them. I know they're they're looked down upon.
00:23:06
Speaker
I don't think that's fair. They certainly had big budgets, you know, they're not, they don't feel dated. They just, I just think casting is really important when it comes to these characters, you know, and if you don't get it bang on then they suffer, you know, but who knows, maybe we'll go to the movies and go, that was awesome. and that It did its job and it probably made millions and billions. So it doesn't matter who thought what, you know, cause they got their money, you know?
00:23:32
Speaker
But I didn't really think we'd ever really get another film. didn't think we'd get one this fast. So it's interesting that it's coming, but I, I've been avoiding the trailer, so I don't really know what to expect, but I did watch a video yesterday on the fantastic car, which I've never heard of. Like they're,
00:23:49
Speaker
vehicle like their automobile the popcorn bucket it is beautiful i think we're buying it for their action figures i'm like yes really smart yeah yeah so it's that big yeah yeah yeah i'm kind of hoping to see it in person because it's all like back form you know it's really cool so it's like okay well who knows i could be getting ready to see my next favorite movie you know i have no idea Although does have Herbie the Robot, Herbie the Robot, Herbie the Robot.
00:24:20
Speaker
So, okay, so what what's this thing? What's this crush on Herbie the Robot? and No, ah the opposite. I'm not a Herbie fan um because I don't like that animated series. It was really the time as a kid when I just, a Fantastic Four cartoon would have made me so happy.
00:24:38
Speaker
So it's not so much that I hate Herbie, it's just that I wish Johnny had been in it. And of course, that was only because for safety reasons. um Actually, i got to remember to ask you something after this.
00:24:51
Speaker
Okay. And ah so I kind of get that. And then they actually put Herbie into the comics, which was okay, because he was a little different.
00:25:01
Speaker
And he wasn't so like upfront. And I get that he's sort of remained like, I guess a fan favorite if that's the right term. Yeah. So I'm not surprised that he's in this. I just hope he's not annoying.
00:25:13
Speaker
You know what I mean? Like, I hope that like he's fun. There's a Herbie popcorn bucket that like holds a drink and holds your popcorn and does all this stuff, holds your phone. I'm like, wow. Awesome. slave eighty Did you happen yeah did you happen to to watch that YouTube video I sent you on um like the cancel culture of the cartoons of the 70s? No, I did not get to see it yet.
00:25:37
Speaker
Okay, what we should talk about it once you've seen it. the The setting yourself on fire to be like Johnny Storm reminded me of that. Great. but That sounds like a safe thing to do.
00:25:49
Speaker
yeah i doesn't have That doesn't happen. It's very cool because um i'm I'm flipping through Retrofan from July 2024, and they've got a big, giant Fantastic Four segment.
00:26:04
Speaker
And I just saw there's the Fantastikar from the animated series. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so oh cool. Yeah. it's Can you show it? Yeah, let me see if I can I can hold it up here and see if we can. All right, here we go. There you go.
00:26:19
Speaker
Yeah, isn't that cool? It's very it's very much of its time. to design Yes. It was like, um, how can we make a gear great big gigantic toy that we can sell for 40 bucks? $40. That's like three year salary.
00:26:37
Speaker
ah Back then it was for sure. That's awesome. Any other fantastic four memories you got? I don't know the, the comics, the original run of the sixties comics are being reprinted right now.
00:26:51
Speaker
So oh cool yeah, I'm really happy about that. So I'm getting to see them, you know, in, decent color you know what i mean on good paper stock um yeah i don't know um i don't even know if i own anything anymore that's fantastic for i don't even have my funko pops anymore and i had some of the really rare ones um but yeah i don't i still have my alex ross poster that was the in that he did based on the fantastic four

um comic book number one cover i love it yeah they yeah yeah that's cool yeah no i'm just having to look around i think it's inspiring me no but i do have anything that's been released on you know 4k blu-ray dvd of fantastic four cool still waiting on that hannah barbara one that's never happened yeah weird huh yeah never never they run it on cable sometimes in the states but it's never been issued you know on VHS DVD, Blu-rays never happened.
00:27:55
Speaker
So I don't know. Usually I know what the reasons are. I don't know what the reasons are with that one. Weird. I just saw something here that said um there was a Fantastic Four segment from a Saban production, the Marvel Action Hour series.
00:28:12
Speaker
I don't think I knew about that. I don't know. might have been. Yeah. and Yeah. And they're there's their uniforms look like they're almost black with like blue highlights. Yeah. ah That may be worth digging around to find out.
00:28:25
Speaker
um Because, you know, we we love our Saban connections. I remember drawing ah the invisible girl ah in the 70s in school. And my teacher took it away from me.
00:28:38
Speaker
and i and because it was a blank page yeah yeah yeah and i colored it in and everything and i thought like why why did you take it away so i went and i saw him and he said you drew this then i said yeah and i remember he said but she's so beautiful stop trying drawing beautiful girls i can't remember if it was grade three or grade five because i had the same teacher in the same room that's hilarious yeah i'll never forget that i can see the drawing as clear as yes
00:29:08
Speaker
That's so funny. That is hilarious. That's invisible girl memory. Well, you know what, listeners? We have to go and watch the movie now.
00:29:18
Speaker
So it's time to go and check out the Fantastic of Four next steps. It looks to me like it's going to be a really fun movie.
00:29:29
Speaker
um I like the idea. I like the concept. I'm excited to see non-origin. I'm assuming that it's not an origin movie because they're already established. And I'm very excited about that.

Pop Culture Trivia and TV Shows

00:29:45
Speaker
And Tyler sounds like he's excited too. I am. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I don't know because I haven't seen the trailer. don't know what to expect, but yeah, I'm looking forward to it, of course. Awesome.
00:29:57
Speaker
Well, you know what that means?
00:30:01
Speaker
It's time to play trivia game. It's time to lose trivia. i really I really try to find answers that you know. i really do. I go through all 800 cards every Saturday morning. totally find some I try to find something about Boy George or Fantastic Four.
00:30:22
Speaker
you know fantastic more word Yes. yeah this is playing truly pursuit eighty s okay Okay, so I'm going to ask you a movie question.
00:30:33
Speaker
Okay. What teen flick gave Anthony Michael Hall the line, we have $70 and a pair of girls underpants. We're safe as kittens.
00:30:44
Speaker
Gosh. All I can think of is that movie he did that has Susie and the Banshees in it. And that's only reason I went to see it. Oh.
00:30:56
Speaker
I'm not sure I know what that one is. Ugh. what's the that's That's the blonde kid, right? Yep. yeah yep yeah no I have no clue. It's going to be something.
00:31:08
Speaker
yeah and He gave you a buzzer for that. it's um It's 16 Candles. Oh, yeah. b See, I'm not a fan of those movies. I know. see i love I love those movies. love highlight like I liked my teenage years.
00:31:23
Speaker
I didn't like their teenage years. Well, they were a little off from what what I grew up with, but I was much more of sort of a punk kid. than We had way cooler lives than those kids did. Oh, totally did. I really i really do. i've made notes for writing my own novel about my punk you know childhood, like teen years.
00:31:49
Speaker
And it's funny because um I took a comedy writing class And um one of our assignments was we had to come up with a like a pitch for a show.
00:32:00
Speaker
So I came up with an animated show about teen me. And it was about this kid who was like really wimpy and scared. But when you know push came to shove, he could turn into an animated character and become the hero in in whatever the situation was.
00:32:19
Speaker
So it's kind of like you know the the secret lives of Walter Kitty. yeah yeah right so you know he's walking along something you know jumps out and all of sudden he turns it into an animated you know superhero where he gets to win so i did that and and uh got some drawings of the characters it's pretty cool but uh i don't know if it would make a a good like graphic novel or whatever but yeah we did we had way cooler lives oh yeah that's why i couldn't get excited about those movies i'm like oh this is so mild Yeah.
00:32:50
Speaker
I enjoyed them though. I still loved Molly Ringwald. She was so amazing. Okay. Your next question is ah ah SNL. I don't know what that means. Saturday Night Live. No, it's not Saturday Night Live. It's a category and I'm like, I have no idea what that is. But anyways. Sports and leisure?
00:33:08
Speaker
It could be, but that wouldn't make sense. All right, I'll just give you the question. What 1985 computer puzzle was built around seven shapes of four blocks referred to as I-T-O-L-J-S and Zed?
00:33:23
Speaker
Is it Tetris? Oh my goodness. Look at this. Wait, what? Oh, look at that. You're absolutely right. It's Tetris. I don't even think I would got that.
00:33:35
Speaker
Oh, you would have. No, I'm really bad at these things. yeah Okay. but tv That's why that's why i don't let you answer ask the questions because i mean i would just get the buzzer all the time.
00:33:48
Speaker
What Emmy-nominated sitcom blasted off its second season with Inherit the Wind, an episode notable because Becky cut the cheese?
00:33:59
Speaker
Oh, Roseanne. Good job. like What was the episode called? In Here at the Wind. That's hilarious. It's stuffy old Becky um farted in front of her. That was actually very funny. Yeah.
00:34:15
Speaker
Yeah. I'm just doing a rewatch of the entire Roseanne series. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. Just because i want to I want to watch the Conners, and I know that they're two separate shows. I never really watched the entire Roseanne the first time around.
00:34:30
Speaker
So just watching it and like you know watching it like a few episodes at a time, yeah it's actually been an interesting show, and there's a lot of really great performances in it. Oh, yeah there yeah. It really was a great show. I didn't see it to the very end because it got a little silly.
00:34:45
Speaker
It does. It gets really wacky. Like they won the lottery or something like that. But then that was just a dream sequence. Oh, okay. Okay. Well, and then I did see a lot of the Conners and then just, I i didn't deliberately, but I stopped watching it But like I thought it was okay. Even without her, yeah thought it was okay. you know Yeah, and I really love the actors. I mean, I love John and um I love laie Laurie. Oh, yeah. She's incredible. She's a prize, right?
00:35:15
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah. um But yeah, there's just there's so many great people in that show. you remember when they do... When they have the episode where they film the commercial at Rod Bell's. Yes. And they kick Roseanne and they bring in Jackie. Yes. And she's like, what did she say? She says like, you know, what's my motivation or what's my character? Yeah, totally. the And she's like, the ant.
00:35:35
Speaker
The ant. Got it. Okay. Like that is so funny. Laurie. Laurie Metcalf. She's freaking amazing. Yeah. Yeah.
00:35:46
Speaker
Yeah. If you, if you loved her in a big bang theory, you can go back and watch some Roseanne. Cause she's just absolutely a brilliant comedy genius. Yeah. Yeah. That was a good show. Yeah.
00:35:58
Speaker
Yeah, I'm enjoying the rewatch right now, so it's good. Yeah, and I want to kind of see the Connors because I want to kind of see how they wrap it up. And i' I've seen a few episodes and they're a little weird, yeah especially these days, but I'm still enjoying the the actors. I think that think they've done a great job over the decades.
00:36:19
Speaker
Awesome.
