Logan Howard: Hello everybody, we are back on Zencastr. As you can tell from our intro, we haven't had the intro for quite a while.
BTM: Headphones.
Logan Howard: um Let's just say today has been a very ah poor tech day. Things are not working the way they should. um Audio is not working the way it should. um Video is not working the way it should, and it's one of those days where the best laid plans of mice and men are just completely ah burning in the middle of the river.
BTM: Headphones.
Logan Howard: So ah with that being said, hopefully you'll enjoy what we have today. It's going to be back to more of our older content. we're just ridiculous and uh we're gonna play some games um but before we do that i do want to introduce introduce the other amazing host of this podcast which is brendan thomas merit how are you doing today brendan how's it going and have you lost any hair from the last hour and a half that we've been recording
BTM: I'm stressed. Technology has... Technology has defeated us today. It has kicked us seven ways to Sunday. Oh my goodness.
BTM: I'm losing the will to live.
Logan Howard: Yep.
BTM: i a little kalo through the will to live
Logan Howard: Across three different apps.
BTM: ah
Logan Howard: Yep. Three different apps. Let's see. It's been so ah you you've been trying to get your Mac to work. You are on your computer and then you're on your phone.
Logan Howard: So that's four devices as well. So.
BTM: And the headphones.
Logan Howard: Oh, yeah.
BTM: The wireless headphones. Four my devices let me down.
Logan Howard: Yep. Yep. Yep. It's been a day. It's been a day.
BTM: the Irish Revival was
Logan Howard: Well, anyway, other than the crazy technology, how are you doing, Brendan?
BTM: amazing, amazing. well the irish revial was amazing amazing And we, my team and I were up at 5.30 every morning praying for somewhere between one and three hours a day and for three weeks in the run up to us.
Logan Howard: a lot.
BTM: And am looking at my screen and whenever you speak, there are sound marks. Whenever I speak, it's flatlining. Can you see that too?
Logan Howard: Um, no, yeah I can see your your audio, so you're good. You're good. and my
BTM: Okay, good, because we ain't shooting this again.
Logan Howard: mean
BTM: If this gets released and you're having a conversation with nobody, it's staying put.
Logan Howard: Nope, this is it.
Logan Howard: It'll be the episode he wanted to release, which was 25 minutes of us being completely silent. And that's how you lose an audience, folks.
BTM: I did say that. have
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: I'll be honest. i don't think this episode one six six i think this is episode six six six i think the devil's screwing us over
Logan Howard: maybe Maybe for episode 666, we should just release this with not speaking at all.
BTM: have content
BTM: um i'll go um six six five to six six seven
Logan Howard: yeah.
BTM: her
Logan Howard: Well, anyway, anyway, how many people did you have for your revival? was it ah Was it bigger than some of your previous ones?
BTM: It's interesting, actually. We had fewer people than we had the last one. The last one we had about 150.
Logan Howard: okay
BTM: But things were breaking off the congregation. I'll be honest. I don't even really use that word. i normally call them our guests.
Logan Howard: yeah
BTM: And things were breaking off at far greater speed. And it was am amazing. I mean... Deliverances upon deliverances upon deliverances. and Praying for people and do they just you know drop down under the anointing of God and under the power of Holy Spirit. a
BTM: Decades old trauma and issues just coming out of people. i um We have these like flower pots with they little little bags in them. And sometimes there will be a physical reaction to what's happening in the supernatural.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Holy Spirit might just say you trauma, and next thing is like they're vomiting up a spirit of trauma, you know? um But it's just... It was just it was it was fabulous.
BTM: Really, really amazing. um I think at our first revival, people came suspicious. They were very blessed and loved it, but came suspicious.
BTM: I think at our second revival, people came... ready Pretty chilled out overall. They came in with their teacups and their coffee mugs from downstairs.
BTM: But it took them two or three worship songs to really get into the flow.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: And this time people came desperate. Desperate from having been bribed and worn down by the enemy and desperate for a touch from Jesus knowing he was the only one who was going to save them.
BTM: i And it showed. Yeah, the teachings were great.
Logan Howard: Wow.
BTM: i always give the communion sermon, so this time, don't know, I probably kept it at under 10 minutes, maybe 7 minutes, 8 minutes max.
Logan Howard: Hmm.
BTM: um And sometimes you teach something and you just know it's landing. You just know, okay, this this was a God thing. Holy Spirit really gave this to me to preach.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: So yeah, the sermons were great. Testaments were great. The deliverances, physical healings, and deep soul healings, mental and emotional healings. It was just fabulous to see.
BTM: So in May, and we're going to go back to our and's venue from revival number one. which is 1700s mansion with a massive big property and and a forest and lake and everything.
BTM: And that's just going to be for men. so we'll do, you know, worship by the campfire. You know, we'll guy talk. um Wild at Heart style teachings and discussions more than likely.
Logan Howard: nice
BTM: I know John Eldridge is a, you're probably is a number one fan. I've only read that one book, but have say it was very good. I did enjoy it. um Sometimes just know someone has struck gold. We're going to do kayaking. We'll be sports. So it'll be real, real, real, real manly stuff. You know, lots of testosterone. It's all about stamina and likes. am And then in September, going have another revival open to everybody.
BTM: And what we're hoping to do actually is to have a fully fledged kids church program running simultaneously. So of the kids currently, they have, they've got kids corner, but actually want to create a room just for them with them godly leaders who have a particular heart for children and and can demystify
Logan Howard: No. Yeah.
BTM: big concepts and made them very digestible for the kids in a way that's that's fun, in a way that shows the fun the love of Jesus. In November, we're going an event just for the ladies, called Radiant, a which is going to be amazing as well. It'll be revival style, a bit more conference style, but kind of have a revival element as well, and a particularly helping women to find their voice.
BTM: step into everything God has for them, because he loves his daughters. He really does. And considering the majority of the body of Christ has always been women, and the first European to ever get saved was a woman, and God has a very particular plan for his daughters to step up and take their place in the body of Christ and the world these days. So we're going be creating a space for that.
Logan Howard: Awesome.
BTM: And we are more than likely going to start doing house meetings or maybe even sports hall meetings or community center meetings. um Maybe beginning from April or May here in Ireland. We're doing them every month in the UK.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: But I think the zeal and the fervor in Ireland is such that we can actually start doing them one Saturday a month as well.
BTM: And then we have a lot of interest from Corkonians. Cork is our biggest county. It's as south in Ireland as you can go, while still being in mainland Ireland.
BTM: And we've had about five Corkonians asking, when are you coming down here? I'll be honest, they were not on our to-do list. i But i we're probably going to look into and having a revival down there, down south.
Logan Howard: nice
BTM: And then also in imaginary Ireland, because, again, Ireland does not exist.
Logan Howard: yeah
BTM: There's one Ireland, a United Ireland, but there's ah there are parts of the country which are very confused at present. And we've got people who've been coming down from them the last couple of revivals as well.
BTM: And several hours, actually. So we're thinking of maybe treating them... he to maybe a revival or a house meeting as well.
BTM: And they're very close to the Giant's Causeway, which is our second most famous tourist attraction on the island. So it's all happened. It's all going down.
Logan Howard: yeah
BTM: But um it's stepping out that one time in June just to be obedient to God. And... Then he just opened the door and said, come back in November. Different venue, but I will send the people.
BTM: And this year, we thought we would have our work cut out for us with four events, but say it's looking very likely that he's going to be multiplying that by two, three, or four. And that's, mean, to one side, everything we're doing in the UK and Germany and roman Romania and Australia are all looking very likely between and found January as well.
Logan Howard: Hmm.
BTM: So it's all going down. It's all happening. But the world needs revival. The world just needs that touch from Jesus. The world is upside down. Only Jesus can put it the right side up. And and the days of playing church...
BTM: And pretending that the same old, same old is working. It's over. It's time for Christians to stop lying to themselves. um where You can lie to yourself and convince yourself.
BTM: You cannot lie to God and convince him of your lie. That's the reality of it. And so it's a new day, new era, new strategies.
BTM: And all the new strategies are are the old ones, the biblical ones. And kind of you know, going back to basics.
Logan Howard: yeah
BTM: But I'm... No, very, very exciting. And then today I met up with some people who were guests at our revival. They were 30 minutes down the road from me. So I went to support what they're doing too.
BTM: And it's so beautiful just to see how God is moving in the nation and moving in the lives of unexpected people, people all whose names I had not known before, people who don't have big titles and massive platforms and yeah yada, yadda yada, yada, yakity, shmackity.
BTM: But they do have the heart for Jesus and a heart for people, a heart for his body and a heart for the lost. That's a winning combination.
Logan Howard: Yeah, that's awesome. It's awesome. I was thinking, ah and Brandon doesn't know this brendon doesn't know this, because I have been working, ah i was trying to figure out how could I make it to the men's thing.
Logan Howard: um I did try.
BTM: Thanks.
Logan Howard: it was not going to be possible because of... um a specific event that's happening the same weekend that i've already given my word that i would be there but it was very close to happening because i was doing the math and finding all the plane tickets and looking at all the things to see if it would if i could have feasibly afford to do it but it is not because i i my schedule is booked so but it was close what was that
BTM: hey
BTM: Ah, pity. i looked confess Join in September for the... That's
Logan Howard: For the women's thing? ni
BTM: November. I was going to say the all-gender, all-age revival, all-gender sounds a bit woke. I do mean men and women only.
Logan Howard: Yes, yes.
BTM: And children. Okay.
Logan Howard: Yes. So, but it is, it's wonderful to hear the ministry going forth in Ireland. Um, my uncle, I know this past week had sent a, uh, an article about revival in England and was like, does your, does your friend know about this? And I'm like, yeah, that's what he does. Um, is he does revival in Ireland. So, um, as well as England too, right? You've, you've done stuff there too. So it's, it's across the globe and, uh, it's really exciting to see, um that people are being willing to listen and willing to go to these kind of things and open their hearts to to Christ. So we definitely need to be on the forefront of preparing for ministry, getting ready to be able to help in those things, because God's Word's still valid and still relevant today.
Logan Howard: So it's still still needed across the globe.
BTM: Amen.
Logan Howard: um So thank you for your update. um It's an encouragement, a blessing, and an honor to have ah heard about it and to be able to hear that God is still working today.
Logan Howard: That is always encouraging for everybody. Yeah.
BTM: Amen. Amen. Absolutely, because we have an intercessory team who pray from beginning to end during it.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: And um i don't want to mind Joshua Generation girls, and Lisa, to pray the intercessory team.
Logan Howard: Mm-hmm.
BTM: And um she's ah a baby doctor. And after she prayed the intercessory team, she had to back to work. And c m she was treating a baby who is comatose.
Logan Howard: Mm-hmm.
BTM: but but And she just asked the parents, can I pray for your baby? And they were like, okay. She prayed for the baby and the baby woke up up there and then.
BTM: but but And then she went into the next room. She wasn't even supposed to, but there was an emergency and someone had to go in. um And they were like, the baby's heart isn't beating. And look at the monitor and it's flatlining, you know, beep.
BTM: So she prayed for the baby and next thing, beep, beep, beep, the baby's heart starts beating. And... What we have been praying for isn't, because I'm not into event Christianity.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: I have hosted event Christianity.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: I've been doing it for 12 years. So I can tell you, I hate it.
BTM: I hate the art artificiality putting so many resources into a day that bears fear.
Logan Howard: Yeah. Yeah.
BTM: Pretty much no fruit, or at least nothing long-lasting. Nothing that lasts a week or a month. Can't stand it. Better things to be at. i But what we were praying this time was that people, the guests, the intercessors, and the workers, the worker bees, would all catch the revival fire and take it with them into their world, into their
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: and into their families, their workplace, their sports teams, whatever, their churches, their relationships, that there would be holy spirit sparks and lightning bolts coming out of their feet, holy spirit members and earthquakes, and taking the ground wherever they go, shaking what can be shaken, so that what is of God remains and his will cemented and established.
BTM: And it's wonderful just to see what God's been doing.
Logan Howard: That's awesome.
Logan Howard: That is awesome.
BTM: and
Logan Howard: Awesome indeed. Praise the Lord. um So as we transition into a little bit of a sillier time, what we're going to be doing next is we are going to be um playing these Wordle games. And some of you may know what that means. Some of you may not. But if you have any questions or if you want to get in touch with how can you be a part of helping with the revivals, um we'll have a link in the description for Brendan Thomas Merritt where you can get a hold of him. You can send an email to us from du to cleveland at And we will make sure you get connected to Brendan so that you can join in some of these revivals. You can help. you know They always need more volunteers to pray. at
Logan Howard: minimum, and they always need people to help event and run the organization too. So if you have any of those interests, you can send us an email from Dublin to Cleveland at gmail.com and we will get you a hold of Brendan so that he can plug it in um because
BTM: Or if you're a desperado in need of rescuing, if you're a damsel in distress or a dude in distress, the idea still makes sense.
BTM: And the people in your world just don't have faith for your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual healing. come along as one of our guests. a It's a case where we don't promise anything because we are just people.
BTM: What we will do is we will create a space where we show up and show Christ so Holy Spirit can show up and show off.
Logan Howard: Yes.
Logan Howard: yes
BTM: And you'll be in the the safest hands because it's all for His glory, not our own celebrity or prestige.
BTM: And that is one thing which we determined the right beginning we would not be doing is that doing this for our own glory as a other revival ministries have very infamously done and much to the harm and detriment of the body of Christ on the whole. am But yeah, get in touch and we'd love to see you there.
Logan Howard: There you All right. So we are going to be playing Wordle is going to be our first game. So this is just going to be a word in general. um It is going to be five-letter words.
Logan Howard: And so we're going to be working as a team to get this done. So we'll go back and forth off of guesses. But what an example is...
BTM: Pass that. Pass that.
Logan Howard: um For instance, yeah, pasta.
BTM: pasta
Logan Howard: And let's say the P in pasta is correct and it's in the correct place, then it it will be green. um If it's the right letter but in the wrong place, it would be yellow.
Logan Howard: And then if it's not in there at all, it would be gray. But none of that means anything to any of you because none of you are seeing what I am seeing. So I will try to do my best to explain what we need to figure out this word.
Logan Howard: So...
BTM: Can I just jump in there, please? I need you to say the name of that food again.
Logan Howard: Of course.
Logan Howard: Pasta?
BTM: Okay, this time I need you to say it properly. It's past.
Logan Howard: Pasta!
BTM: What is that? It's past.
Logan Howard: You want some pasta?
BTM: That's an excuse.
Logan Howard: Some Parmigiano Reggaetano pasta?
BTM: I've heard that American food is not even food that it's crap. Well, let me tell you, ever I go to the US of and someone offers pasta, I will get up and I will walk out that door.
Logan Howard: Yeah, it's fake news.
BTM: Pasta. Good one.
Logan Howard: Some pasta. It's past your eyes.
BTM: It's pasta. well Learn how to speak, Americans.
BTM: ah You might be a baby on the world stage at only 200 years old, but it's past. Okay? Sorry, we European countries and British islands, we've been around for quite a while. but we We speak correctly. We know what we're saying.
BTM: It's past.
Logan Howard: got spell a color with an o ah U in it. We can't have a color. We've got to have a color because we're French. Okay.
BTM: I don't think I'm going to respond to that.
BTM: That
Logan Howard: All right. Anyway.
BTM: might be like scangery London, but that's not, that's not right.
Logan Howard: Anyway, anyway, with all that being said, we digress, we digress. So, um Brendan, I need a word.
BTM: It's bad. bed
Logan Howard: Give me a five-letter word, and then we'll plug that in and see how many letters we've got correct.
BTM: I want to say pasta, I'll be honest, but I might pick something that doesn't have a the same letter repeated. Hang on. Now
BTM: think of apple, which has two peas. I can do this. I was an English teacher up until two Fridays ago. I know words.
Logan Howard: Yes.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: Is there a number with five letters?
Logan Howard: Eight.
BTM: see Yes, I was getting that. I was on number seven when you spoke.
BTM: It is after eight. Eight.
Logan Howard: And he's over here making me fun, making fun of me. Yeah.
BTM: it is
Logan Howard: Eight. Eight. That's the word we're going with. All right, let's see.
BTM: As in the number, not the past, simple of eat.
Logan Howard: All right. It has been entered, and ah the G is the third letter. So the G is the third letter in this word.
BTM: I need a pen and paper to write all this time.
Logan Howard: Yeah, probably.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: Anyway, the G is the third letter, and the E is in the word, but it is not the first letter.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: So we have G in the middle, and E correct. So, this is an interesting one, because having the letter G in the middle of a word and HT being absolutely incorrect is kind of...
Logan Howard: Kinda crazy. So, for my guess, um let's go if
Logan Howard: Let's go with that, maybe.
Logan Howard: Alright, we have learned nothing from mine, which was a beggar that got us nothing.
BTM: Beggar?
Logan Howard: Yes, beggar.
BTM: How do you think beggar is spelled?
Logan Howard: I was just going for more letters, man. That's all I'm going for. this is not an english This is not an Englishly graded assignment. This is just trying to get something. So we got nothing.
Logan Howard: It was absolutely worthless. That was a waste of time. Anyway.
BTM: Yeah. How did you misspell beggar?
Logan Howard: How did I misspell beggar?
BTM: Yeah.
Logan Howard: Does it have a double G? Is that what I'm missing here?
BTM: Yeah. But tell me exactly how you misspelled beggar.
Logan Howard: Okay. I didn't.
Logan Howard: I did not. I did not put the double G in it.
BTM: No, I need to hear from the very beginning, please.
Logan Howard: No, you don't.
BTM: I assume you made two mistakes. Go on.
Logan Howard: Why do you assume I made two mistakes?
BTM: Because you're beating around the bush and you're avoiding answering my question like it's a plague.
Logan Howard: What would be my other mistake I would make? What what possibly could have done?
BTM: What was your second last letter?
Logan Howard: The second to last what letter? Or I threw an A in there just for fun?
BTM: staank waled
Logan Howard: So I can tell you for sure that B, A, and R are not in the word. So there you go.
BTM: rise
Logan Howard: I can also tell you that E is not the second letter. So E is not the first letter, not the second letter, but it is in the word.
Logan Howard: But G is still the third letter.
BTM: Okay, my second guess was going to be legit, but obviously the T is not correct, nor is the i a So, let me see.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: How many guesses do we have? This
Logan Howard: We have six guesses. We've used two so far.
BTM: is an absolute disgrace.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
Logan Howard: Yes. It is a disgrace because I spelled things completely wrong. But that's okay. I was homeschooled, folks, and homeschoolers are not great spellers.
Logan Howard: Just saying. case you are also a homeschooler and you also don't know how to spell. Ferris or Juicy.
BTM: I'm pretty sure if you look back for our catalogue, there's an episode of you insulting people people who went to public school, and I'm just going to have like root that out someday and be like, podcatl black.
Logan Howard: Hey, at least I don't misspell my own child's name like some people in public school do. So, you know.
BTM: I don't think I'm either using your novel.
Logan Howard: LaDasha. Let's spell it with L-A and then a dash A.
BTM: Right, let me see. I have a sneaky suspicion that E is the last letter.
BTM: Could it be a place? Or is it a word? An or something? like re verb? and Not the first letter, it's not the same.
Logan Howard: It could be. just a word. It doesn't really have a category.
BTM: It's not cigar because there's no I, A, or or.
BTM: We said that after our last two episodes, which are very lengthy in Hollywood, this would be a nice, short, easy episode. I think we need to renege on that.
Logan Howard: Yep, we're just going to go as long as it goes, folks.
BTM: We think
Logan Howard: So you're stuck with the dulcet tones of Brandon Thomas Merritt and Logan Howard arguing over spelling.
BTM: yeah
Logan Howard: Yeah,
BTM: I just have to do the one more and wrap this up. It might already be like 65 minutes.
Logan Howard: yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, there's definitely one person out there I can probably think of who it is that is listening to this and going, I've already figured it out. How did these these two guys not figure it out yet?
Logan Howard: So that has already happened.
BTM: Well, it's not right because there's no or I hate your teeth.
Logan Howard: This wouldn't be like D-O-G-G-Y, would it?
Logan Howard: Like, I know it's America. America does this quiz.
BTM: Well, this is what I'm thinking. and i i meant to ask this, actually, and then you misspelled beggar.
Logan Howard: Could it be called Double G?
BTM: The fact that we only put G in once, does that mean there is only one G? Could there potentially be another G?
Logan Howard: There could be another one, yeah. Because we got it on the first go, we got it for sure as the third letter, it won't tell us if there's another one.
BTM: No, but doggy...
Logan Howard: It wouldn't work because of the e We have to fit an E somewhere in there.
BTM: you need to have an E.
BTM: Okay, let's see. And...
Logan Howard: I will say one of the tips and tricks is to just completely just throw out a completely new word just to see what letters actually fit and then will help us down the line. But
BTM: You can do that in your train.
Logan Howard: okay. I already did. It didn't work.
BTM: Guys, if it seems like I'm short-tempered at Logan today, i just have no emotion because we spent an hour and a half on the techno crap, okay?
Logan Howard: Yep. Yep. Yep. Yeah.
BTM: and My issue is not with him.
Logan Howard: I'm not taking any of it personally. I'm not taking any of personally.
BTM: My issue is with technology. Absolutely.
Logan Howard: Yeah. I'm not taking any of personally, so don't worry, guys. He can yell and shout at me all he likes.
BTM: oh no oh no
BTM: is the end doman de cleveland
Logan Howard: Yeah, we'll just title this one episode the one where we shout at each other a lot.
BTM: oh no oh no No, it's not the second. e is not the second letter and there's no way. was going to say a vegan.
Logan Howard: Oh, yeah. Yeah, no.
BTM: Is it acceptable just put down five letters even though it doesn't actually make a word? That's acceptable.
Logan Howard: Yes, that is acceptable.
BTM: Okay.
BTM: I think you actually told me to do this a while back and I, for whatever reason, was like, no. Alright, calm yourself down. Nice one.
BTM: My word is about 20 seconds old and it is ucgem. U-C-G-E-M. Ucgem. g e m okjem U-C-G-E-M.
BTM: That's M for money.
Logan Howard: Okay, well, apparently i was wrong. You do have to have an actual word.
BTM: S-S-S-P. Good one.
Logan Howard: Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. wait wait Could this be angle?
BTM: No, because a is not in the word.
Logan Howard: Oh, that's right.
BTM: very Yeah.
BTM: Could it be angle? With an Not a word.
Logan Howard: En?
BTM: No, I'm messing.
Logan Howard: No, it can't be an en because e was the can't be the first letter.
BTM: Yeah, yeah. Well, plus it's not a word.
Logan Howard: What's a gl word that...
BTM: of
BTM: Glass.
Logan Howard: Sinjal? No.
BTM: I think the E is at the end. I think E is the fifth letter.
Logan Howard: So is it a G-L-E word then?
BTM: Yeah, why not?
Logan Howard: Okay.
BTM: a
BTM: So, gla.
BTM: I think the first letter is a vowel.
BTM: And it's not I and it's not A. So it has to be O or U.
Logan Howard: Could it be like Okay. like
BTM: No, that's four letters. I thought you. Um.
BTM: G. G.
BTM: G.
BTM: Woggle, ogle,
Logan Howard: Woggle?
BTM: ogle.
Logan Howard: No.
BTM: No, Woggle has two Gs.
Logan Howard: That's too many. Yeah, it's too many.
Logan Howard: This is a pickle.
BTM: Ugle, ogle.
BTM: I wish our listeners were like listening like live right now when they were just screaming the answer at us.
Logan Howard: Yes, you know, this is why we need to do a live version of this. We'll just go live on YouTube and yeah just post this after on whatever.
BTM: Yeah. It
Logan Howard: but
BTM: would save so much time on the upload and the videos and all crap.
Logan Howard: Oh, yeah. Yeah, we just...
BTM: We might have to that some point actually in the near future.
Logan Howard: Yes, we might. We'll have to experiment with that.
BTM: And...
Logan Howard: Sounds like more technology problems, but...
BTM: Yeah. could it be... No, no, it's not a get word. There's no T.
BTM: And... No, there's no R. And that might not even be a word. This is not easy.
Logan Howard: Would it be like a... Is lager a word? Or that have two Gs?
BTM: eues And there's no or.
Logan Howard: Hmm.
BTM: We're not allowed to use our phones so soon.
Logan Howard: Ooh. What about low Logos? L-O-G-O-S.
Logan Howard: I know that doesn't have an E, but...
Logan Howard: Legos?
BTM: No.
Logan Howard: No, because the E would be in the wrong place.
BTM: you
BTM: The fact that we know it has an E, do we have to choose a word that has an E?
Logan Howard: No. We can test something else without the E.
BTM: Because... but Logos. Yeah, okay.
BTM: My only concern about logos... oo is that we would be using two O's and knowing that we're not using an E. So...
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: name
BTM: You know what, we'll go with it for now because i'm I do think there's an L in there, I really do.
Logan Howard: Okay. So let's do...
BTM: we need There has to be one more vowel, so it's an O or it's a you So let's go with logos just for for the crack.
Logan Howard: Yeah. yeah
Logan Howard: All right. Let's see All right. So here's what we got. So we have... There's not an L.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: There is not an S, but we do the second letter is confirmed to be an O.
BTM: Yeah, okay, that makes things ever so slightly be clearer.
Logan Howard: So for sure it's an OG in the middle.
BTM: And there's an E somewhere.
Logan Howard: And there's an E in the one of the last two is an e
BTM: Yes, of course, yes. I know what it is. no I don't. was gonna say rogue, but we can't use an ore.
BTM: am
BTM: Is loog a word? no there's no L.
Logan Howard: No L. Moog? Mug? Fogger? No.
Logan Howard: Fogger? No, it's no no R. keep forgetting that.
BTM: I have a sneaky suspicion.
Logan Howard: Fogged. What about fogged? Is that two Gs?
BTM: That's two Gs. I have a sneaky suspicion it's something O-G-U-E.
BTM: I think after the G, there's a U. And it's not wrong.
Logan Howard: The only word, it's not rogue.
BTM: I can't
Logan Howard: Dogue.
Logan Howard: Jogue. Cogue. Pogue.
BTM: hold my own.
Logan Howard: Vogue. Vogue. What about Vogue?
BTM: nice That's exactly what it is. 100%
Logan Howard: What about Vogue? All right, let's see.
BTM: guaranteed. There
Logan Howard: We got it. We got it.
BTM: you go.
Logan Howard: It's Vogue. The answer is Vogue.
BTM: Well done. And it took us 22 minutes.
Logan Howard: All right. So folks, that was one.
BTM: I'm curious because all week, because of the trailer that came out for the sequel a week ago, I've been watching The Devil Wears Proud Eclipse. And that scene where Anne Hathaway has her of transformation from size six to fashion icon.
BTM: Madonna's song Vogue plays through that. I've been hearing the word Vogue about 30 times a day, every day, since last Friday. I'm annoyed it took that long.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Well done, that's that.
Logan Howard: That's it. Yep.
BTM: That's
Logan Howard: um Alright, so our next one is going to be a Lord of the Rings version of this. So, we're going it's going to be a word from Lord of the Rings, word from Lord the Rings, that is somewhere written by our dear friend Tolkien.
BTM: that. I love it.
Logan Howard: It's somewhere in one of the books. Hopefully it'll tell us when we get the word. um But the word is for sure five letters again. um so it's a five-letter word.
BTM: Rings.
Logan Howard: Could be names. Could...
BTM: Gimli.
Logan Howard: You want to go Gimli?
BTM: I don't know, do i
Logan Howard: i don't know. Whatever you want to start with. i'll let I'll let you pick the start. What is our first word?
BTM: Well, my first word was rings. The Lord of rings.
Logan Howard: That feels too easy.
BTM: Why does it? Maybe it's so easy that people would overlook out
Logan Howard: Man, if we could get it on the first go, just guess rings right away and just I think we should probably go with rings because it's more letters and it will help eliminate or um help us figure things out quicker.
BTM: It's either rings or it's Gimli.
BTM: More letters.
BTM: That's nice.
Logan Howard: So let's go rings. Let's see what we get. So...
BTM: Oh, it could be Arwen, my favorite character. But let's go Rings.
Logan Howard: Alright, let's guess rings first. We'll see what we got. Absolutely nothing. None of those letters. Burn them all.
BTM: What?
Logan Howard: No rings. No R, no I, no N, no G, or S.
BTM: Okay, well, it's not Arwen then either.
Logan Howard: Nope.
Logan Howard: Or Frodo.
BTM: that what you just typed in?
Logan Howard: No. It can't even be Bilbo.
BTM: Oh, sorry, yeah, because of the ore. Yeah, you're right, yeah.
Logan Howard: Can't even be Bilbo.
BTM: I was just about to say that.
Logan Howard: um
BTM: And it's not Gimli. Two eyes.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
Logan Howard: Let's
Logan Howard: see. What would be a good...
BTM: It's not Mary.
Logan Howard: What's that?
BTM: It's not Mary.
Logan Howard: No.
BTM: and me Or why?
BTM: not trees. It's not horse.
BTM: but
Logan Howard: just saying it's not, okay?
BTM: It was never going to be that school, but yeah. Still isn't.
Logan Howard: It can't be yeah horse.
BTM: I hope our audience does kind of hear the squeaking of the chair that I'm sitting in.
Logan Howard: I hope they can't either, but if they can, you know what?
BTM: Yeah.
Logan Howard: It'll cut itself out. It'll be fine. um
Logan Howard: What should I go with? What do you think?
BTM: Something that doesn't have the letters or ingrs.
Logan Howard: Okay. All right. Very helpful. Yep. Yep. Got it.
Logan Howard: um Okay. So
BTM: Well, there is one good thing that we learned.
Logan Howard: what's that?
BTM: The vowels will either be E, e o or u
BTM: And it's not Urux, as in the Uruk-hai. It's
Logan Howard: Yeah. What about um
BTM: not Troll.
Logan Howard: is what about like something like what about tamed?
BTM: No, it's not Goblin. Goblin six letters. It's not...
Logan Howard: Like T-A-M-E-D. Is that would that work to give us enough different letters possibly? Because I i is figuring out a specific word that's entered in there is going to be challenging.
BTM: Yeah, okay.
Logan Howard: But if we can at least get a letter on the board here.
BTM: Yeah, okay, okay, okay.
Logan Howard: That might... ED. So it's an ED word. It ends in ED.
BTM: Excuse me. But it's not TAM. Okay, no TAM.
Logan Howard: It's not not tamed, no. Hmm.
BTM: Okay, well, here's the good thing. There's going to be at least one more vowel in there. I think the second letter is the vowel, and it's going to be...
BTM: Either another E, an O, or
Logan Howard: We know for sure there's no A and there's no i
Logan Howard: Ed, ends in ed.
Logan Howard: This couldn't be the word loved, could it?
BTM: I would have thought it would be more specific to...
BTM: I mean, okay, I get the characters, you know, love the Shire and some of them do fall in love and get married, but I thought it would have been a more specific word to the world.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: But that said,
BTM: it would reveal if the other vowel was an O.
Logan Howard: Yeah. What do you think? Do you want to go with it?
Logan Howard: Pause for station identification. You are still live with Brendan Thomas Merritt and Logan Howard.
BTM: a deep in contemplation all these loitering quotes you know and you know something like they're taking the hobbets to wiseiseizen god toyise and ga goga go they're taking the hobbits to
Logan Howard: Yeah, yeah.
BTM: a balrog of murkoth what did you say balrog of murkoth what did you say
BTM: I don't really want to go loved because v is a funny letter. I know we had Vogue earlier, but V is not a common one.
Logan Howard: It's true.
BTM: If we do go at loved, I think the vowel in particular
BTM: i Just for the clarity we need, go with love, Diéguan.
Logan Howard: loved it is. Here we go. Okay, so what we learned here is o is in the correct spot.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: We also learned that L is in the word. but it's not the first letter. That must mean it's the third letter.
BTM: There is no V.
Logan Howard: So it ends with O-L-E-D.
BTM: Owl, bold, cold, colored, doled, gold, fold, gold, hold.
Logan Howard: BOLID? No, it wouldn't be BOLID.
BTM: know, the hobbits live in holds. Jold, lold, cold. Am I forgetting letters? Mold, nold, pold.
Logan Howard: hold
BTM: cold
BTM: Sold.
BTM: So I need to write out the alphabet. I'm skipping letters here.
Logan Howard: hold hold
BTM: Yold.
Logan Howard: old rule cold du fold no that wouldn't even work hold jold cold
Logan Howard: Sold.
Logan Howard: Hold is probably the best option out of those.
BTM: You see, the thing is, they do live in hobbit holes, though it's possible that maybe somewhere it has been used in the book as a verb.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
Logan Howard: Could be.
BTM: And plus, the number of other words doesn't...
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Well, they're very...
Logan Howard: we still We still have three guesses. So if we guess hold here, it's not hold. Maybe we try to make a word out of the letters that we haven't used yet to see if we hit something.
BTM: young Yeah, go with hold.
Logan Howard: yes And then our sixth guess will be the one to try and get it. All
BTM: yeah go Yeah, let's go with hold.
Logan Howard: right.
Logan Howard: Oh, it says that it's not a word, so we can't even use it.
BTM: Oh, okay.
Logan Howard: H-O-L-E-D is not a word, so.
BTM: Well listen, it's not it it doesn't start with an a that's not a word.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: B-O-L-E-T? I don't think that's a word.
BTM: With a C, not a word. Doled, I think, is a word.
Logan Howard: Dold?
BTM: don't know. I think... I think so.
Logan Howard: D-O-L-E-D.
BTM: i think it is a word. I think it exists.
Logan Howard: You want me to try it?
BTM: Um...
BTM: Mould, Nould, Pould, Rould, Sold, Old, Would.
BTM: Would it be cheating if I googled this to see it is a word?
Logan Howard: No, i think I think we could enter it, and then it will tell us whether it's a word or not.
BTM: yeah Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, okay.
Logan Howard: Dold is the correct word.
BTM: I need to know what it means. I think it's part of the phrasal verb doled out.
Logan Howard: Dold is the correct word.
BTM: think that's the context which people use it.
Logan Howard: All right.
BTM: wonder you the same meaning as to meat out. and
Logan Howard: Dold. Dold.
BTM: Doled meaning.
BTM: Yes, doled out. Yeah, that's exactly what it is. Yeah, to distribute shares of something. The scarce, thes sorry, the scanty portions of food doled out to them. Yeah, it's a phrasal verb.
BTM: Yeah. Yes.
Logan Howard: Gotcha.
BTM: There you go. Still got it.
Logan Howard: All right. So two more to get through. The next one is Star Wars Wordle. So this is going to be words from Star Wars. um It's the same format again. So we have five letters um and we have six guesses to get the five-letter word in.
Logan Howard: So what word would do you think we should start with first that would be a Star Wars word? Here's the problem with Star Wars. Here's the problem with Star Wars, right? Star Wars doesn't follow English spelling.
Logan Howard: That could cause a problem like Alderaan.
BTM: Sure, which thankfully not going to be because they're too long, but I know you knew to me they're very world-specific words, yeah, war-specific.
Logan Howard: Or Tatooine.
Logan Howard: No. No. Yes.
Logan Howard: Yes. Yes.
BTM: Well, listen, let's go with the most commonly used five-letter word in all the Star Wars, Darth.
Logan Howard: Alright, I like it. I like it.
Logan Howard: Oops.
Logan Howard: Alright, so with Darth, D is the first letter.
BTM: OK. OK,
Logan Howard: um a is not in there. R is is correct, but in the wrong spot. wrong spot T and H are not in the word. So D is the only one for sure that we keep in the same spot.
Logan Howard: And r we need to move around.
BTM: so it's on the third word. OK.
Logan Howard: Should we start with like a DR word? That feels like the most logical place to go.
BTM: does
Logan Howard: Because DR is a valid
Logan Howard: Like, I'm thinking, i know drain is not necessarily a Star Wars word, but... Drawn, D-R-A-W-N?
BTM: Because Anakin was drawn to the dark side?
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: No, because a isn't a letter. A is wrong.
Logan Howard: Oh, that's right.
Logan Howard: Dream? Because Anakin has dreams.
BTM: A.
Logan Howard: And it's still A again. Yeah.
BTM: answerla
Logan Howard: Drops.
BTM: Because Luke drops his hand and then drops into the big drain.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Or whatever that button-shaped thing was.
Logan Howard: Never. Yeah.
BTM: drive back and Actually, when he falls down that slide, that does look like a lot of fun. He's like, whee! Mm-hmm.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
Logan Howard: I feel like drops might be a good one to try here because S is a normal is a letter that's in a lot of words. um So it might be good to rule out or make sure it's in there.
Logan Howard: So I don't think drops is going to be the answer, but it might help us.
BTM: Okay, I guess it's not hero.
BTM: Yeah, okay, okay.
Logan Howard: All right, let's see what we got. Oh, we have a D-R-O, are all in the correct spot.
BTM: wow.
Logan Howard: So the word starts with D-R-O.
BTM: know what it is.
Logan Howard: Droid! It's Droid!
BTM: course it It's about to be.
Logan Howard: Let's go. All
Logan Howard: right, and your focus determines your reality. You are absolutely correct.
BTM: La Breida is nice one. If only the last two rounds have been this easy.
Logan Howard: Three guesses. That was pretty good.
Logan Howard: If only, yeah.
BTM: How
Logan Howard: Goodness. All right. um So this one. We're going to play a math version of this.
BTM: are we?
Logan Howard: We are. And I have a feeling this is the one that will probably break us.
BTM: as an ad feature. Okay. Okay.
Logan Howard: So this this, what we're about to do, is an eight-digit calculation. Okay? We have six guesses.
BTM: man
Logan Howard: It's eight digits. So an example would be five times six minus three equals 27.
Logan Howard: Okay? So it's most likely going to have, it could be three digits plus three digits. It could be multiplication, then subtraction or addition.
Logan Howard: We're going to type in numbers and multiplication, subtraction, division, and try and figure out what is the clue.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: Hopefully they'll give us clues. So, um
Logan Howard: i I will go first this time. So I'm going to do let's say, um
Logan Howard: 17 times 2 minus... I don't know. That's not going to work, is it?
BTM: I don't know. What are you doing? And why are you doing this?
Logan Howard: I don't know what I'm doing either. All right, let's do 2 4.
BTM: I don't know what's happening.
Logan Howard: plus 9, so equals 17.
BTM: What?
Logan Howard: Okay, enter. Alright, so what we have learned from my starting this is that...
BTM: Are you just yeah numbers at random?
Logan Howard: What's that?
BTM: Are you just plucking numbers at random?
Logan Howard: No, i I tried to make an equation that actually fit the 8 slots. So I did 2 times 4 plus 9 equals 17.
BTM: So it's you blank and and blank blank and and and blank clickling and you just pluck random number they had
Logan Howard: Did I put random numbers from my head?
BTM: so it's Blank, blank, blank, blank. Blank, blank, blind blank, blank. And you just pick random numbers.
Logan Howard: Yeah, youre pick numbers, pick multiplications and subtractions, addition, yes.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: Yes, yes.
BTM: Right.
Logan Howard: um So what we learned from my just messing around, okay?
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: We learned that the first the first thing is a two, okay?
BTM: Okay. Right.
Logan Howard: It's for sure a two. We also learned that the next one is a times.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: So it's for sure two times something.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: And then we learned that the the third to the last one, so this would be the sixth one, is an equal sign.
BTM: Is equal. Rise.
BTM: Rise.
Logan Howard: So that's what we've learned so far. So it's two times something. We know it's for sure four. There's no plus sign. There's no nine. There's no one. There's no seven.
Logan Howard: So we can mess around off of that.
BTM: Okay. No four, no nine, no one, no three.
Logan Howard: And no plus.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: So it must be ah subtraction, possibly.
BTM: Yeah, why not?
Logan Howard: Alright, so let's see if we did something like 2 times 8, that would be 16.
Logan Howard: And then we subtract...
Logan Howard: Subtract what? That's the thing. We need to be more.
BTM: But hold on. Where are you getting...
Logan Howard: What's that?
BTM: confused myself now. just calm down.
BTM: I'm sorry. I was done with this episode before before you hit record. Oh, yeah.
Logan Howard: yeah And we are now an hour in working on math, and everybody's brain is going to be fried real quick here. All right. um
Logan Howard: So i I'm just going to take make an executive action here. um And... Oh, wait. Nope. Nope. That's not...
Logan Howard: It's not going to work.
BTM: Is the answer equals 36?
Logan Howard: i don't I don't know. what What kind of thing did you figure out?
BTM: Well, I had it all worked out. But what confused me was I had drawn seven lines, not eight. And that's what when you started throwing in minuses.
Logan Howard: Oh.
BTM: And I was like... Now, you can't have 2 times 1, 3 minus equals 36. thirty six But yeah, not yeah i'm i'm I'm okay.
BTM: <unk>'ll We'll get there.
Logan Howard: Okay. Okay.
BTM: well be well We'll be okay. We will survive this.
BTM: I think the answer is 36. 36.
Logan Howard: Okay.
Logan Howard: Oh, man.
BTM: but No, listen, theres i but there's i think there could be a three and a six in there somewhere.
Logan Howard: I think you might be right.
BTM: Two times.
Logan Howard: So what I'm trying to do is, if I can see if this is going to get me an answer that's acceptable. So...
Logan Howard: It's not. But is it worth testing to see if the 6 and 3 are correct? That's the question.
BTM: see.
Logan Howard: So...
BTM: Two times nine.
Logan Howard: I don't know.
BTM: So
Logan Howard: So let's see, 2 times 8 is 16. 16 is not divisible by anything else, and it can't be a 1 because we know for sure there's no 1 in this solution.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: yes, that is correct. Yes. And two times.
BTM: Okay, so that it has to be two times and then a small number.
Logan Howard: yes
BTM: it's It's not... and Put this way. It's not 2 times 5 or above.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: Because then you're in the 10 of the teens.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: So let's go 2 times 3.
Logan Howard: Okay. 2 times 3. That would be is one that's not in the problem, so it must be 2 times 5.
BTM: No, that that's too small. It has to be 2 times 4.
Logan Howard: 2 times 5 10. two times five is ten um
BTM: Yeah.
Logan Howard: minus...
Logan Howard: this is hard, goodness.
Logan Howard: minus 8 is 2?
Logan Howard: That is technically legible.
BTM: What about two times?
Logan Howard: Let's see.
BTM: What about two times six?
Logan Howard: Okay. Yep, six is feasible. All right. Two times six and then subtract or divide.
BTM: Yeah, okay.
BTM: I forgot dividing existed. and Okay, 2 times be 12, And 2 times 6 12.
Logan Howard: We'll just do subtraction.
BTM: Minus... We need something that gives us...
Logan Howard: Yep.
BTM: No. No.
BTM: is twelve
BTM: minus we need something that gives us no
Logan Howard: Yeah, none of those work.
BTM: yeah
Logan Howard: It's not six for sure. I think think we try five, right? We do two times five and then we subtract eight and that will equal two.
Logan Howard: So zero two for the last two digits. I think I'm going to try it and we're going to see if we...
BTM: is Is that okay?
Logan Howard: Oh!
Logan Howard: Hey.
BTM: Hey.
Logan Howard: We did learn something.
BTM: Oh.
Logan Howard: um we have we We have basically all of the letters.
BTM: Tell me what you put in and then tell me what you found.
Logan Howard: They're just in the wrong place.
BTM: Okay, tell me what you put in.
Logan Howard: I thought the right...
BTM: Okay. Okay.
Logan Howard: Sure, sure, sure. Okay, so... um I got confused on the coloring. I thought when it was red, that meant that it was where it needed to be. It's not. um Apparently, it's the green function again. They changed the colors on me. So um for sure, the answer ends with a two.
Logan Howard: Okay. So the last thing is for sure two.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: um And we have all of the pieces except one we're missing. So um the times 5, the minus, the 8, equals, and the 0 are all in the formula, but they're in the wrong spot.
BTM: So you typed in 2 times 5 minus 8 equals 0, 2.
Logan Howard: Yep. Mm-hmm.
BTM: That's what you said.
Logan Howard: Yes. That is what I did. Yes.
BTM: Okay, and what is correct is 2 times equals...
Logan Howard: It's just the two. just Just the two at the end. Two at the end is correct.
BTM: and the 2 at the start.
Logan Howard: No, not the two at the start. I was wrong.
Logan Howard: I have made this more confusing than it needed to be.
BTM: So...
BTM: You have. So blank times blank, blank, blank equals blank two.
Logan Howard: Yes.
Logan Howard: Alright, so let's rethink this.
BTM: okay.
Logan Howard: What if the answer equals 2 at the end? So what if it's like... um
Logan Howard: Let's do, I don't know, 80...
Logan Howard: eighty
Logan Howard: Minus...
BTM: Did you not say the multiplication sign was in the correct place? That's the second way.
Logan Howard: It is, it is, yeah.
BTM: Okay.
BTM: Then where do you have space for 80 minus anything?
Logan Howard: Yeah, that's not gonna work.
Logan Howard: All
Logan Howard: right, so what if we put five first?
Logan Howard: Five, don't know.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: Five minus three.
BTM: But it's it's five times something.
Logan Howard: Yeah, that won't work.
Logan Howard: No, that So but let me correct what i I stated earlier, okay? The only thing that's for sure in the correct spot.
BTM: Viewers are cracking up, as am I.
Logan Howard: What's that?
BTM: The viewers are cracking up. They're tuning out.
Logan Howard: Yes, yes, yes.
BTM: I don't know what's going on.
Logan Howard: What's going on?
BTM: You've lied to one time too many this round.
Logan Howard: I've done what too many times this time? What is going
BTM: We've lied to our viewers one time too too often. they're They're like, this guy is full of crap.
Logan Howard: on? Okay, okay.
BTM: This guy gets paid to teach kids mathematics.
Logan Howard: Okay.
BTM: Who hired this man?
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: That's what they're thinking.
Logan Howard: Yes. this This is the question. I fake it.
BTM: We're going to get hate now.
Logan Howard: fake it every day. Yes. All right. So the only thing that we know for sure of exactly where it's supposed to be is the number two right at the end. So the eighth number is the only one we know for sure.
BTM: So when I said the only thing we know for sure is blank times blank blank blank equals blank two, and you said yes, you lied.
Logan Howard: That is...
Logan Howard: I did lie because my brain checked out in that moment.
BTM: Is the equals in the right place?
Logan Howard: no
BTM: So the only thing we know for sure is blank blank by Blank blank. Blank blank. Blank two.
Logan Howard: We know that, yes. We also know that the numbers and so what we what we need is we know we need the number 5, the number 8, the number 0, and we need the multiplication, subtraction, and equal sign in the equation.
Logan Howard: That's what we know.
BTM: Do we know that we need another two?
Logan Howard: We do not need another 2.
BTM: Oh my goodness.
Logan Howard: Yeah, this is a brain frying one.
BTM: Alright.
Logan Howard: We should have done this one first.
BTM: gonna be honest with you, when you went through all the titles, the geography one sounded preferable to this.
Logan Howard: i don't I don't know. I don't know. Without the visual aid part of it, I'm the only one who can see it. I don't know if it would be better. I don't know.
BTM: Dude, you're the only one who can see this math equation and you've screwed it up at least five times.
Logan Howard: That's fair. That's fair. Yes, that is a fair statement.
BTM: husband mad my I want to go to bed.
Logan Howard: That's all right. i I am going to just start plugging things in because I am i am at that point of the evening as well.
BTM: blank No, no.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: We've eaten the last three.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: We can do this.
BTM: Okay. We know the last numbers are two.
Logan Howard: And it doesn't start with a multiplication. That that makes it hard. ah
BTM: What is the BEMDAS rule? B is for brackets. E is for something. M is multiplication.
Logan Howard: Yes. yeah So it's and MDOS.
BTM: D is addition. A is addition. addition.
Logan Howard: It's multiplication, division, addition, subtraction.
BTM: What's the E for? BEMDAS.
Logan Howard: E?
BTM: B is for brackets. E is for...
BTM: Or is he just there to make it a word?
Logan Howard: It must be there to make it a word. I don't i thought that there was parentheses as well. Brackets, parentheses.
BTM: Yeah, that's the B, yeah.
Logan Howard: Okay. And then mdos.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: i am I'm very close to just start throwing numbers at this and saying, yeah, it's good enough, and then they yell at me because it's not a valid equation. That's what's about to happen.
BTM: Let's try 80. 80. Yeah, why not?
Logan Howard: Try what?
BTM: eighty eight to zero
Logan Howard: okay, at the beginning.
BTM: yeah why not
Logan Howard: Okay, then what?
Logan Howard: Okay, so what if
BTM: Maybe it doesn't start with 80.
Logan Howard: Okay, maybe it doesn't.
BTM: Maybe it does.
Logan Howard: Maybe it does. Maybe it starts with 30.
BTM: i did suggest a three quite some time ago.
Logan Howard: Whoa. did yes thirty minus
BTM: If your students should find this on the internet and watch this, would they not be absolutely mortified that are their teacher?
Logan Howard: Yeah.
Logan Howard: No, they will they would not have figured this out. So I'm i'm good.
BTM: Okay. Okay.
Logan Howard: This is above my pay grade.
BTM: How about 30 minus 8? hi have i th thirtyty minus eight
Logan Howard: OK, 30 minus 8. Yep. and it say yep
BTM: Blank, blank, blank, too.
Logan Howard: 30 minus 8 equals 28, which would be something times My brain went home for the day.
BTM: I need you to say that again slowly. 30 minus 8 is 22.
BTM: is twenty two
Logan Howard: 30 minus 8 is 22. I was trying to do the other end of the equation, which was I need a multiple to get it, and that's not going to work.
BTM: No, it's not.
Logan Howard: So that doesn't fit.
BTM: No, it does not.
Logan Howard: So it can't be 30 minus 8.
BTM: Okay, not.
Logan Howard: So
BTM: Let's put the equals before the two.
Logan Howard: so it equals 2? Okay, we can do that.
BTM: Yeah.
Logan Howard: i'm I'm cool with that. All right.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: So...
Logan Howard: it's just hard I think the hard part here is getting something to equal 2 because of the multiple element that's in here. We we need to do a multiplication equation. So maybe it's something like 82. Or maybe it's even bigger than that. maybe it No, it can't be.
Logan Howard: That can't be it because the equal sign can't go in that third to last spot. Man.
BTM: Is the color coordination for this one different than all the other ones?
Logan Howard: What do mean?
BTM: The red and the green.
BTM: Because you were so sure of yourself until you weren't.
Logan Howard: Well, there was a, it was yellow in the other one. And so then I thought because I saw the logo of this place, it was like red was the logo. And i was like, oh, so that means red's the one that is good this time.
Logan Howard: And I was wrong.
BTM: It takes a brave man to admit when he was wrong.
Logan Howard: Indeed.
BTM: Well, I think it will start with a multiplication. But maybe not single-digit multiplication. Probably double-digit multiplication.
Logan Howard: Maybe.
BTM: I'm convinced.
Logan Howard: i am I'm thinking that the end part, so one of the things that they like to do in math is they set two numbers. So like, oh, ah this number is 21 minus 5 equals 16 on this side, and 2 times 8 is 16 on the other side, and they equal each other.
Logan Howard: I'm thinking that's what we're what they're running into here. But I don't think that it's 8 times 2. think it might be 5 times 2 10. So if we put 10 on that side, and then I need for sure something...
Logan Howard: um
Logan Howard: Something minus... No. What if I try 6 times 2 is 12?
Logan Howard: No, can't be 20. All
Logan Howard: right, I'm just going to do it because I'm going insane. we're going to try that.
BTM: Yeah, explain
Logan Howard: Okay, all right, good. So now we learned that the second thing is for sure a zero, the third is a subtraction, and that's it.
Logan Howard: So you might be right, it could be 80 minus something.
BTM: that to me again. Just give me a second. Hold on.
BTM: Okay, it says say that one more time.
Logan Howard: Okay, so zero so what what I entered was I entered 20 minus 8 equals 6 times 2.
BTM: It's something...
Logan Howard: Okay, because I was just throwing something at the wall.
BTM: Six times Yes, I was beginning to wonder if it was an equate, if it was...
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: Yeah, I was beginning to think that too. Yeah, okay.
Logan Howard: It is not that though.
BTM: Right, go on.
Logan Howard: So that we learned that that's off the table.
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: And we learned that there is for sure the second
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: digit is a zero, and the third is a subtraction sign.
BTM: so Okay.
Logan Howard: So we did at least gain a couple things that we can that are for sure now.
BTM: Yeah, okay.
Logan Howard: What about 50 minus something?
Logan Howard: I also think this means that at the at the end, answer is for sure it equals 2. I'm almost 100% sure now.
BTM: Okay.
BTM: What did you type in something else there?
Logan Howard: i'm I'm just typing in what I know for sure, that's all.
BTM: Okay, calm yourself down now.
Logan Howard: Okay. All right. I'm calming down.
BTM: Last week, 20 minus 8 equals 6 times 2. I know you're playing around the figures and just one balance the other It was a good idea.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: But we know that we know that we know we have the number 5.
Logan Howard: Mm-hmm.
BTM: So don't write 20, write 50.
Logan Howard: Yes.
BTM: 8.
Logan Howard: Okay. We got 50. 50 minus... fifty minus
BTM: eight
Logan Howard: We also learned that for sure 6 is in this, so our numbers that we need here is um we have 5, 8, and 6, and 0, and a multiplication to fit.
BTM: Right.
Logan Howard: So 8 times...
BTM: Okay.
Logan Howard: Wait, here it is.
BTM: I'd have read it.
Logan Howard: I got it. I got it.
BTM: 50 minus 8 is 42.
Logan Howard: Oh, sure you did. What do you have?
BTM: fifty minus ace
Logan Howard: Mm-hmm.
BTM: is forty two
Logan Howard: Yep.
Logan Howard: That's not what I got.
Logan Howard: I have 50. So the the equation is set up like this, but you always have to do the multiplication before you do the subtraction. So even though the the multiplication is set after, 8 times 6 is
BTM: Yes, yes, p x equal yes, Yes, yes, yes.
Logan Howard: forty eight
Logan Howard: and 50 minus 48 equals 2. So that should solve it for us.
BTM: Because it would go into brackets. So yeah, it's 50 minus 8 times 6 equals 2.
Logan Howard: Bam!
BTM: Because the VEMDAS, your 5 times 8 would be in brackets. Sorry, 8 times 6 would be in brackets.
Logan Howard: Yep.
BTM: And then it's 15 minus 48 equals 2.
Logan Howard: Yep, we got it.
BTM: Never again.
Logan Howard: We're at the end.
BTM: Never again.
Logan Howard: That's it. Never again.
Logan Howard: Well, folks, we said this going to be a short one. It is coming up on an hour 30. yeah. So,
BTM: as long as the last one.
Logan Howard: and's see. I guess what I'm thinking is We come up with one verse that has been important to you this week, and we'll do our quick shout-outs, and then we'll be done. So um what was your verse of the week, Brendan?
BTM: Oh, I heard a nice one today. Romans 2.4. Romans 2.4. I'm just
BTM: going to get up in a translation that's not 500 years old. five hundred years old
BTM: a Or do you think lightly of the riches of God's kindness and restraint from inflicting punishment and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
Logan Howard: Mm-hmm.
BTM: Romans 2, 4. Or do you think lightly of the riches of his kindness and restraint from inflicting punishment and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance.
BTM: Just how often and how regularly and how thoughtlessly we can often put out of our minds God's forbearance with us.
BTM: God's kindness to us, God's patience to us, God's perseverance to us.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Especially when someone has hurt us, legitimately, genuinely hurt us or wronged us or upset us.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: And we blow a gasket and we get super frustrated.
BTM: Like I've been today because of the technology.
BTM: I have just caught myself saying it out now.
BTM: Case in point. Again, I'm not ticked off at Logan, just the technology was wrecking my head.
Logan Howard: wow
BTM: and And the mats. ah
Logan Howard: On the maps, yeah.
BTM: But, um yeah, we just, we can be very quick to forget, can't we?
Logan Howard: Indeed.
BTM: um And sometimes God's probably just sitting there like, yo, dog, I've forgiven you.
BTM: And you won't forgive this person. You're squashing in your offense. And your bitterness.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: Really? That way Jesus died? Really? um So yeah, we need to be a lot more alert.
Logan Howard: Yeah.
BTM: that When people upset us. And I'm not saying let people walk all over you. I'm not saying let people wrong you. I'm not saying let people do evil things and get away with it. I'm not. um But there are a lot of things that we let totally consume us.
Logan Howard: Hmm.
BTM: And they do not deserve that place in our lives, that place in our heart. a And you have no excuse whatsoever, no matter what the cause or the offense is, to walk around in in bitterness and offense and unforgiveness when Jesus has already for forgiven you for all of your sins.
BTM: Not just the ones who have committed, but all your sins. and So yeah, we keep our eyes fixed on the cross, fixed forgiveness that we have received, and get a lot better, a lot faster, at extending it to others.
Logan Howard: Indeed.
Logan Howard: Yeah, indeed. um That's good. My verse this week is, the Lord led me to Luke 24, and in a funny verse twenty five stuck out to me in ah in a funny way he's um Jesus has on the road to Emmaus, and he's speaking with these people, and they're like, well, Jesus just died, and this is horrible, and we're walking home.
BTM: Thank you.
Logan Howard: And ah in verse 25, he looks at them and says, O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken. Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things to enter into glory?
Logan Howard: This had to happen. And then it says he went through all of the prophets from Moses and explained to them why it had to be this way.
BTM: Man.
Logan Howard: And it was just, it it was, it caught me as a little bit funny that he's just like, why don't you guys believe what was literally right there, guys? Like, open your eyes, open your hearts.
Logan Howard: um And I was thinking in my own life how sometimes we we struggle to believe that what God says is true and that we can obey him and trust his words. And sometimes we're like, you know, i know better, Lord.
Logan Howard: i don't i don't need to do that, you know?
BTM: Come on.
Logan Howard: I know what's best for me. This is better. And every single time he's probably has said this to us without even us even knowing. Oh, foolish ones, and slow to believe.
Logan Howard: Did you not know what the prophets have said? Did you not remember what the Bible says? um So it was ah it was a comical moment, but it's ah it's a convicting one, too, that sometimes our hearts are slow to believe what God says is true.
Logan Howard: And even about ourselves, sometimes we're slow to believe the things that we know that God loves us and he cares for us, that he...
BTM: No.
Logan Howard: has a future for us and a hope. And sometimes we don't believe it because it looks pretty bleak in front of us. So if you are in that position, if you are struggling, um, feel free to reach out to us to get ahold of us. Cause we are always willing to listen and be an encouragement to you. Hopefully this has been, know, uh, the math thing just, it took a dark turn there for a while. Um,
Logan Howard: And you might be wondering, this is the last but episode that we ever do.
BTM: I like that dark place again.
Logan Howard: um I don't think that's the case. But you might be right. um It might be the last one we ever do that's like this.
Logan Howard: But... ah
BTM: looked into the heart of darkness today and I did not like what I saw.
Logan Howard: ah Anyway, anyway...
BTM: done things about myself that were not pleasant to see.
Logan Howard: um But I think we can both close out with our shoutouts this week, and it'll probably be our From Dublin to Cleveland Extras. ah Wealth of information, a wealth of catalog of things that you can check out.
Logan Howard: um I know there's also for Brendan, he has ah books he's working on and has completed two of them, so please check those out, purchase them. We'll have links in the description below. As well as our merch. We have...
Logan Howard: merch. You can buy shirts. We have our brand new logo that looks really awesome. um So yeah we'd love if you'd support us in that way. ah And yeah, I think that's all I have. So again, if you need to contact us, reach us at fromdumbentocleveland at gmail.com. Hopefully you made it through this podcast and because we barely did.
Logan Howard: But
BTM: I'm hanging out with your life, I'm telling you
Logan Howard: yep. Yep. I think it's time for bed. So thank you all.
BTM: you. At one point, my arms just got interlocked in my sleep.
Logan Howard: So thank you all for listening. Thank you for putting up with our best laid intentions of having a short episode. And then things happened. So lessons learned as always.
Logan Howard: Well, maybe learned, but not necessarily applied because we've learned that this is not what we want to do.
BTM: I hope they'll never replay that match game again.
Logan Howard: Yep. Yeah. The math one's going to just burn.
BTM: battle was fine, and that's when that was of demonic.
Logan Howard: the math is going to burn in hell. So just, just so you know.
BTM: he admit that The bottom was pit to Tartarus, honestly.
Logan Howard: Yep. Yep. but Yeah, definitely. So thank you all for listening. Anything you want to close us out with Brendan, we'll, we'll send them on their way.
BTM: Yeah, let's just burn this episode with fire. Let's just end it now mid-sentence and let's just never about this one again.
Logan Howard: Okay.
Logan Howard: All right. Very good. So this will for sure come back in episode 200 when we do our special review. So thank you all. Thank you all for listening. Have a wonderful day. Hopefully this has been somewhat of a joy to you. And if not, Jesus loves you.
BTM: I'm sorry you had to listen to this one, guys.
Logan Howard: Bye, friends.
Logan Howard: Bye, friends. We'll see you all next time. Bye-bye.
BTM: Go.
