The early days of modern ufology seem to be a procession of characters, wild tales and messages from the stars most forgotten than the notable exceptions. Yet one man found his calling after reading the headlines about the Flatwoods Monster in his home town.
Gray Barker found himself front and centre in the late 50s and 60s as his involvement in the UFO field spanned publishing, investigating, hoaxing and writing and his legacy is still seen to this day.
In his new book, author Gabriel Mckee takes us through some of the wild situations Barker would seem to find himself in, the legacy he left and what how he still influences the field even to this day.
