Original description: Currently, children can have their own profiles on most platforms from the age of thirteen. But there's a major push to have that age increased to sixteen through federal legislation. The campaign is called 36 Months, representing the three years between 13 and 16. Sean Aylmer talks to the driving force behind 36 Months, radio presenter Michael Wipfli, better known as Wippa - one third of the Nova Sydney breakfast show, Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie.

Update: The social media ban for kids under 16 passed parliament on Thursday night. It had bipartisan support, but many experts and advocates have raised concerns that it was rushed through. It was referred to committee for one day, in which time 15,000 submissions were received. The passage of the legislation is now making news worldwide.
