Tactical discussion: Fulham vs. Everton & Brentford preview

00:00:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Today is our Tactics Tuesday episode, and we're looking back on the game on the weekend against Everton. Some of the tactics Marco Silva employed from that game, some of the tactics Sean Dyche employed from that game, will also be assessing some individual player performances, and maybe just maybe looking ahead to the game against Brentford, see what tweaks might be in the off in there.

Hosts introduction and game disappointment

00:00:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
My name is Gavin Ruffle, and joining me today is Charlie Pritchard. How are you, Charlie?
00:00:36
Charlie
Yeah, good. Disappointing was on the end, but of course you can say that you got it right in the end. That was the only thing that I was annoyed about, to be honest, by the end of that game. I was like, oh, as if he's got that right on top of it all.
00:00:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, can't keep happening. It's almost as if I know my stuff here, isn't it? No, I guess the disappointment from that game, of course, is that they' it's another game where they've dominated largely, isn't it?
00:00:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Limited evidence to very few chances, very few clear cut chances.
00:01:00
Charlie
Yep.
00:01:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
And ultimately, they've lost out on three points that were that were deserved.
00:01:05
Charlie
yep
00:01:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
And so I was saying on the review episode that that's now 10 points they've dropped from winning positions. And you you compare that to last season. They own that they only dropped nine points to the whole of last season from winning positions.
00:01:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
So the fact that they're at 10 now, so it's disappointing.
00:01:21
Charlie
Yeah.
00:01:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's tough to take, isn't it? Especially when you concede in those late goals.
00:01:26
Charlie
Yeah, I mean, there is also the thing is that we're in more winning positions, which is sort of nice. We're definitely in more of those than we were last season at this stage. um But yeah, it's something to do with that last 10 minutes. We just get, I don't know, too excited or we're just not switched on enough. or I think not having not having Anderson there as a calming present was obviously a big loss.
00:01:50
Charlie
Um, it's just such a frustrating way to do it because we completely bust the game and we had 60% possession. We felt so in control. I really didn't feel threatened by them at all. Um, we definitely should have scored more really is what it comes down to.

Missed scoring opportunities and Jimenez's form

00:02:06
Charlie
I think that's, that's what it always is. You can't really, you can't, you can't leave it with the chances we had. You can't leave it to a one goal lead.
00:02:14
Charlie
you know, when you're under the karsh like that. ah It's just, it's a tough one to take again. It reminds me of West Ham a lot. It just sort of switched off defensively right at the death. I don't know why Bassey, Bassey could have jumped and just like got his head in front of it.
00:02:27
Charlie
Oh, I don't know. Just all happens quick.
00:02:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah you you spoke about Fulham taking the lead more, which is encouraging. There's only Nottingham Forest have actually taken the lead or scored the opening goal more times than them, so they've done it on seven occasions.
00:02:39
Charlie
yeah
00:02:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
um I guess the positive you can take from that is they they are scoring. You're going into games expecting them to score just that one blank on the opening day.
00:02:46
Charlie
Yeah, I know. Who'd have thought that? I mean, ah to be honest, it's all been a resurgence from Raoul, which has been fantastic to watch. um I mean, he should have he should have he should have another goal on his record, really, after not being allowed to take that penalty. but um He looked good. He could have scored in the first half, but he just sort of scuffed the shot a bit.
00:03:10
Charlie
um and and I'm so frustrated about that game, honestly, because we just should have won that. um it's It's nice. we We should have extended the record, but the record's now. I don't know what. I guess we haven't lost, which is nice.

Impact of mindset and substitutions on the game

00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, so um this is the second time this season that they've been robbed the three points right at right at the death, although they did have they did have an opportunity yeah almost after the goal. So it wasn't quite the last hit, the last head of the game.
00:03:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But yeah, it looks extremely disappointing and frustration and frustrating to not come away from Goodison without the three points there.
00:03:36
Charlie
Yeah.
00:03:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
What do you think it is? Do you think it's ah it's a mindset or is it substitutions? um I know Jack said on the review show that Kenny Tettie was knackered towards the end of the game, so they didn't have that substitution, did they, because Castagna wasn't available, maybe if they did, he would have been there, he would have been done something better to stop the cross.
00:04:02
Charlie
Yeah, um look, I'm not surprised that Tese's knackered. He's played pretty much every minute of every game so far. um And he's been fantastic for us. um I don't know, maybe he could have stopped the cross. But, you know, I just think we should have scored. We should have put it out of sight. So it's not really so much about conceding in the 95th. I think, you know, that probably wouldn't have happened anyway if we'd just put the game out of sight.
00:04:28
Charlie
um We had a lot more opportunity. I mean, Smith Rowe could have maybe scored that volley, but it was sort of behind him. It's difficult. I think we didn't really have many clear cut chances either. I know Adam had a good shot from close range, but he sort of put it too wide. So he was, it was a difficult angle that he was shooting from in the end. I don't know. It's the final, both thirds, we seem to struggle sometimes. And I think that game just sort of, it just sort of got away from us at the end. It was really annoying.
00:04:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
if we If we look at the stats in the game Fulham had 60% possession to Everton's 40% and we spoke about this on a preview show.
00:05:03
Charlie
Yep.
00:05:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
of show This was what we kind of expected wasn't it? The fact that Everton ranked bottom of the league for possession stats so that was no surprise.
00:05:09
Charlie
Yep.
00:05:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
14 shots to 10 and in the first half they did They did have their chances, you mentioned Raul Jimenez, to see how he's playing, not just the goals he's scored, but we saw we've seen in the last couple of games, even when he hasn't been scored, he's been able to link up the play well, hold things up and just knit things together. And this is a real renaissance. This is probably the best version of Raul Jimenez people have seen, even at even at his time at walls.
00:05:39
Charlie
Yeah, i'm i'm to be honest, he he's scoring at such a rate at the moment. It's just been so impressive to watch. I mean, I think what that was his first blank in a while, but I mean, it's pretty good to be able to say that.
00:05:50
Charlie
How many goals are now for four or five? Four?
00:05:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
So he scored four goals and he also had that one assist against City.
00:05:57
Charlie
Yeah, I mean, that's fantastic. and and And Smith wrote as well as now on four goal involvements this season. And it was a nice little hail end. ah hele end hell and hell road goal um from from from yeah him in a woby, which is a great link up. I actually think the way everyone was talking to me about it, because I had to watch the game on catch up, but the way everyone was talking to me about this sort of Smith row woby goal, it was as if, you know, it woby essentially had a tap in. But woby still had a lot to do there to put it in. It was a really nice finish to the bottom left hand side. I thought, honestly, or almost a woby was as good as Smith row in that goal.
00:06:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely in a world we was awarded the man of the match by Skye. Watching the goal, are you I thought the he messed it up. I thought he made the wrong decision because the you had the damn metrora. It was out wide in acres of space.
00:06:46
Charlie
Yeah.
00:06:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
No one was near him. That seemed the obvious ball, but he cut inside, jinked inside. And he was seen seemingly closed off by Everton. The vendor's been managed to find the gap with his shot and squeeze it into the bottom corner. And he was, as I said,

Player performances: Awobi's versatility and injuries

00:06:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
man of the match.
00:06:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he's a manager's dream, really, for Marco Silva because we saw at different stages in that match. He was playing on the left. He was playing on the right. He was playing through the middle. Yeah, it's ah it's a dream for any manager to have that player who's who's versatile and to play operate in in several different positions.
00:07:12
Charlie
Yeah, I mean, and like you saw him, he he sort of scored for the golf almost centrally. So look, were we're seeing that work again, where he where re does come inside and he is really, really useful. I mean, it was ah it was an even better maybe dummy run to run in front of him by Smith Row. Honestly, those two have this really great synergy at the moment. It's great watching those two play. um God, it's just such a shame that we haven't walked away with that, because I just felt like we were so in control.
00:07:38
Charlie
I think you you are seeing a little bit of fatigue because I think, yeah, you're probably right there that if we had some, we had a bit, if we had Castanha to come on, I think it would have given us something extra because I think Castanha is just as good and it's a shame we haven't seen a lot of him.
00:07:54
Charlie
I don't know how serious this injury is. Have you heard it? Have you heard anything about it?
00:07:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
no no i haven't yet um but hopefully ah of course you want him fit as soon as possible because he's got two equally good right backs there i know justani hasn't had much of a look in this season but he was the first choice last season you know if if he yeah if he does have to come in he'll do a dependable job just staying with a woebie um of course he he came back to haunt his old side there i've seen some stuff on social media from from eviton fans they kind of split really their opinion that they kind of divided on his time at the club and um
00:08:01
Charlie
No.
00:08:07
Charlie
no
00:08:13
Charlie
Yeah. Yeah.
00:08:25
Charlie
Yeah.
00:08:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
But since he's since he's come to Fulham, I'd almost say he's he's been Fulham's most consistent performer. It doesn't not doesn't um normally necessarily always get the headlines.
00:08:35
Charlie
No.
00:08:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah But I wouldn't say he's had any a bad game this season. and He's had some games that have been better than others. But again, talk about dependent being dependable. Alex Awobi is that dependable player.
00:08:46
Charlie
yeah he Yeah, you're definitely right. He has been probably one of our most consistent performers apart from, well, probably, or Tete. Tete and Leno are probably the only other two that you can say have been consistently good, I'd say. um Maybe even Raul as well. um I wouldn't say Adamo because he could have won us that city game and that was just, that was just ridiculous. But yeah, Wobi's been super consistent.
00:09:12
Charlie
It's funny, it's good to see him get them out of the match award because he probably could have arguments to have won a couple others already this season. So, you know, I've been extremely happy with how Adobe has been turning out so far for us.
00:09:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. And I do want to talk about the other Arsenal boy who was involved in that goal, but we'll just save that for, and let's just hear a few words from our sponsors, Encaster.

Before we do come on to Emil Smethrow, I just want to talk about Everton.

Everton's gameplay analysis and defensive tactics

00:10:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Were you surprised by their tactics? Because it it was it was funny during the first half, there was a moment when they were struggling to get possession, there were some mistakes at the back and they were a bit all over the place at the time. They suddenly started stringing five or six passes together and and the Everton fans started booing, which I thought it was quite funny. But um were you surprised in the way they just, they was quite passive and sat off, allowed for them to take control of the game?
00:10:26
Charlie
Well, I think we we've seen this a few times with with with ah teams that are in in and around here is that they seem to be giving us quite a lot of respect, which is which is lovely. and and and And I think there is something to be said for having pace again in your attack is that I think defenders naturally want to sit off and let you run onto you and hope that you make that mistake. I mean, I think you see that a lot with our people. Defend Adam ah um and him up against Michelenko. i'm so not I'm not surprised that they're sitting back there at all. um So no, I mean, it seems to be pretty classic Sean Dyche ball, really, which is sort of soak up pressure.
00:10:59
Charlie
and counter-attack. I thought Dwight McNeil had a good game, to be honest. I thought Idrissa Gay played really well as well. um So I think he's actually got quite a strong midfield in there with Dwight McNeil playing centrally and De Cora and Gay either side. I mean, that it it is it is a good base. It's a good Premier League base. You just haven't really seen them perform. Like, I didn't think they played well.
00:11:23
Charlie
They just sort of soaked us up, soaked up our pressure a lot and then gave themselves a chance at the other end, which is just so classic dashboard.
00:11:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, no, and he was very honest enough to admit in the interview afterwards that Everton was very lucky to get the point from that game. And he had that genius tactic in that game, which was to lump Michael Keane up front as he brought on Jared Branthwaite. And of course, sha Sean Deish is one of those managers that associate with 442. You look back at his time with Burnley and it worked so effectively with Warden Barnes prior to that.
00:11:51
Charlie
Yeah.
00:11:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah likes of Sam Vokes and Andre Gray. So ah was that maybe keen going up for the last 10-15 minutes? Was that just called cause disruption amongst the Fulham rank?
00:12:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
We're thinking what were they doing here?
00:12:03
Charlie
yeah
00:12:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
This is a bit odd.
00:12:05
Charlie
Yeah, it's exactly what it is. He's just trying to make you feel uncomfortable and having another big body in the box. I mean, it's just going to be annoying in the 95th minute. That's exactly what you don't want to see coming up as you're defending a one goal lead.
00:12:18
Charlie
um Yeah, I think it's it's a really good bit of management. He knows that they're just barely hanging on in it, but they do have a chance to nick a goal. It's exactly what they did. It was actually, it was like, I think it was perfectly managed with the
00:12:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do you think Everton would be better equipped given the fact that they don't dominate the ball? They're often having less possession than the opponents, whether that's home or away. And when Jordan Pickford has the ball, he just likes to launch an upfield that they're almost better off going back to the 4-4-2 tried and trusted methods of Deutsch from old.
00:12:47
Charlie
I mean, they've still managed to get a result here, but they haven't played, you know, very attractive football or ripped that well for that matter. Look, I'm not really sure if 4-4-2 is going to be the answer for them just because they've got two, you know, strong defensive midfielders there. I mean, it'd be difficult to drop one of them. You're going to have to drop a winger there. I mean, probably Jack Harrison. He didn't. He really had a bad Um, but I thought Ilman in Jai was really tricky towards the end of that game. Um, so I like i don't think four foots were changing a formation is going to make them play any better. Um, I think he's probably getting just about as much as he can out of these players at the moment. I mean, how old is actually young?
00:13:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's not young, that's for sure. Young by name, old by nature.
00:13:37
Charlie
Indeed.

Performance reviews: Smith Rowe and Berger's improvements

00:13:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, just ah just on that tactic, ah Calvert Lewin did one in seven of his nine aerial duels, which we said on the preview show, he was that he was leading the way in that category as well.
00:13:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Let's just look at the Neil Smith row then, because his performance last week against Aston Villa was was poor. He was largely anonymous in that first half as well.
00:13:59
Charlie
Hm.
00:14:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
ya some questionable touches. Wasn't quite on it. There was a chancy blaze over the bar. I was starting to get a bit concerned and thinking what's happened to this player since the international break and what he did for the goal, that's what you kind of expected when Fulham signed him to be able to keep the ball in tight spaces and drive forward his running ability and he did that really well. And that was actually his first goal contribution since April 2022, because I know we've said, haven't we, that his performances at home have been largely a lot better than away from home.
00:14:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, just ah assess his performance, because um yeah just despite despite that contribution, it it was a bit of it was a bit of a mixed bag.
00:14:42
Charlie
Yeah, um I mean, look, his his passing was still. very good. i mean like he's ah He's ended the game with 96% pass accuracy there yeah out of 46 passes. of 46 passes have come off good. That's what you want to see from him. But I think i think what's been difficult in the last two games, and and and and this one as well, is not having lukage. It's really been difficult. i think we're i mean I know we really covered that after the first game, but in this one I think you saw it as well is just not really having the confidence in the midfield as such I think Berger I think we've got to give him credit as well because I think he had a much better showing than he did at home against Villa but yeah I think you're right about saying it's a mixed bag because I think he was bad in the first half Smith row
00:15:29
Charlie
um I think, yeah, I don't think you can say it any other way. I think he was just and underperforming, but he did turn it on in the second half and he looked dangerous. And he sort of created that, he's created that goal out of nothing and he skinned about four players. And that's the sort of flashes of brilliance that you kind of see from him where it can be really frustrating at times, because you know how well and how good he is.
00:15:51
Charlie
and how well he can play, sorry. um But yeah that first half, id I'd rather him not play like that again. the But honestly, if you get flashes of brilliance out of him, that's why you want him on the pitch.
00:16:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
And is there still an end element, even at this stage, the fact that we're what, three, three and a bit months into the season that he's still not quite match fit because he's yet to complete that 90 minutes?
00:16:12
Charlie
Um, I think Smith throws always sort of been like that though. And look, we, we shouldn't be having to rely on him in the 92nd minute. I think, especially in games like that, we should have put it out of sight. Um, so no, I'm not too worried about him coming off. You know, if he comes off in the 80 85th, most games, I think we should be all right with that, especially because then you can push Pereira up into attacking midfield position and hopefully bring on someone off the bench. You can sort of hold it a bit. more um I wouldn't be too concerned about it. um He's completing, I'd say 80% of the games at the moment and um if he starts. I think that's alright for right now. I think Smithrow's always been a guy who who gets who gets taken off. I don't think I see him finish many games.
00:16:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Let's talk about Sanderberger. You mentioned him that this was this was a massive game for him because there's there's a lot of doubts coming into this game and people being concerned based on the performance last week against Aston Villa. And I said this as well. The worst thing for Sanderberger to happen at the minute is if people keep bringing up Sassa Lukic's name because they're going to be bringing up Sassa Lukic's name because they they want him back in the team. Understandably, he he was a consistent performer before that injury.
00:17:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
but Sander Berger needed that performance just ah to get rid of the outside noise.
00:17:29
Charlie
No, I mean, yeah, he still gave the ball away a few times. So like I mean, it wasn't, it wasn't by no means a perfect performance, but it was a much better showing than it was against Villa. I mean, at Villa he looked really under the gun. I mean, Villa are a tough side. So you do have to sort of say it was a bit of a baptism of fire going in against the side like that. um But no, I do i do think he he held his own past well, which was one of the problems against Villa is that he was giving away the ball too much or his passing just sort of was going in the wrong direction or it wasn't the right ball. um So no, he he looked a lot more headstrong out there. I think, look, it's going to take a while for a player to settle, especially when you're sort of replacing an in an injury. I feel like there's more pressure on you to perform. um So no, I think that that was, I'd say a performance to be moving in the right direction for for someone like him.
00:18:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely. And one other player we need to mention is Isidio, who had a very shaky outing, like many of the other full-on players against Aston Villa. He wasn't alone in that. He came on on goal, got a booking.
00:18:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
what what wasn't wasn't a good 25 minutes when he came on. And I did kind of feel with Everton's tactics, this was a game almost suited suited to him. And I thought what he did, what he did have to do, he did well.
00:18:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I felt i felt a bit bad for him because the goal, it kind comes off him, doesn't it? There's there's nothing he can do about it. But it was it was a solid outing from Isid Diop and when he has started games this season before Anderson became a mainstay on the team, he he was he was quietly impressive.
00:18:55
Charlie
no
00:19:05
Charlie
Yeah, look, it's it's a really difficult situation to be in because I think you arguably have more luck going for the starting job if he was left footed because then he'd be competing with Bassey. But, you know, we don't really, I mean, apart from Quenso who did come on, but um yeah,
00:19:21
Charlie
ah but howb going up against Anderson for the starting role, you know, It's just, it's just a bit of a losing battle really, because you've signed Anderson for a job and he's been playing extraordinarily well, minus the red card. Um, but yeah, look I don't think you can say Diop had a bad game. Um, I think if we'd come out and kept a clean sheet, everyone's saying the defense played really well. So it's just that, it's that one lapse of concentration in the 95th minute that everyone's going to remember. And it's a shame because I think until then we did look really solid.
00:19:52
Charlie
um It's just that one split second and look classic, but that's football, isn't it?
00:19:58

So I know in the preview episode, this was something we discussed about Rhys Nelson, the possibility of him starting the game, maybe moving the world be over to the right hand side, because Adama now has probably had, I thought he had a better game than he did against Aston Villa, but he still didn't have that end prompt end product.
00:20:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
um probably not at the level he was in the first few games in the season and Reece Nelson when he came on he was very bright there was a moment where I thought he was almost going to get a penalty when he skipped past Ashley Young in the box wasn't wasn't to be but is it time now that Reece Nelson has he must start?
00:21:02
Charlie
ah I think he's looked a lot better in the sort of 30 minutes of game time that he's had recently than Adam at is consistently producing when he plays for longer. So I think yes. And I think Adam is probably the perfect candidate for it. um Also, I think with a player like Adam, I think you need to rest him. It's literally like a racehorse, isn't it? So you you need to rest him because I think he'll be so valuable come the end of the season.

Speculation on player roles: Nelson and Reed

00:21:32
Charlie
And I don't want to see him go out because, you know,
00:21:34
Charlie
he has been on a good turn of form. I think maybe he just needs a rest. I think literally that that that's all it is. um And I think Nelson definitely deserves the start for the way he's been playing. I think he's looked really good off the bench. He's he's always taken taking the game to the opposition. He's always dribbling positively. He's always going towards the goal. Yeah, I think if now, when really?
00:21:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and it it is interesting. You ah you only find out about players once you do give them the start, because a lot of players can be put in that boat where you you see them off the bench, make cameos for 20 minutes, and they look look an absolute livewire. Look, it will be Adama Troore. It can be that sort of player. ah That player that was lacking ah in the ah the first few games of the season until they signed Rees-Nelson, that guy that can come off the bench, make a difference, make an impact. And I just think it might suit Adama Troore just to have a spell out with the team. Not not for too long. And of course, he can come back at any stage.
00:22:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
but he's a guy as well if you're if you're chasing the goal. What what the fullbacks want to see, you know, with 20 minutes left on the clock, they don't want to see Adama try already warming up, coming coming in to run at them.
00:22:32
Charlie
Exactly.
00:22:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I think it is the time now to to get Reece Nelson into that team. And, you know, he know he knows it will be, he knows Smith row from his type, their time together at Arsenal. So what we've seen so far has been very impressive.
00:22:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think we just want to see a bit more of it, don't we?
00:22:48
Charlie
Yeah, no kidding. um Yeah, I mean, Adam i probably could have scored again in that game, really, if you're if you're being if you're being honest, I think his dribbling lets him down. um He does get a shot off and it goes on target. So that I mean, look, that is sort of what you're asking for. But he probably could have scored if his dribbling was slightly better. And I think when you're running at that speed is just so difficult.
00:23:10
Charlie
um you know in in In other news, what ah we did see Harrison Reed get a run out, which was a bit nice. um I don't know. Do you think we're going to be seeing more of him?
00:23:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. And that' that's not a slight an Harrison Reed at all. I just think his time as as as a regular star at Fulham has probably come to come to an end. I'm sure if you did start him, he'd be reliable for you. But I just think with the options he has in there, he signed Berger. ah It'll be interesting to see going forward what his what his main choice is going forward when Lucas is back fit. um You know that's that's a question for another day. I guess we have to look at things on on the grand scheme of things and it's hard not to think after this game this is another missed opportunity. ah Getting points and the interesting thing is they they do play Brentford next and Brentford they're the only team that have dropped more points and winning positions than they have this season so that's going to be a fun game to watch. in that You have the lead, no you have the lead, no you have the lead.
00:24:05
Charlie
They seem to do it a lot.
00:24:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:24:06
Charlie
They seem to do it a lot. I mean, look, that game that they just had against Ipswich was absolutely crazy. So, God, I mean, um it's not going to be good for the blood pressure.
00:24:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but they've been a bit jack-on-hide this season and a terrific home, but away from them, not too much. um So hopefully for Fulham fans, for for their sake, it's it's in keeping with that next Monday.
00:24:20
Charlie
Yeah.

Reflection on Fulham's missed opportunities and late goals

00:24:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
If you look at some more stats, if you look at XG against, we talk about Fulham maybe not keeping the clean sheets. They have seen out games, game management. They've got a better XG against the Man City, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, and even Nottingham Forest, who everyone's praised defensively. and joint Joint level with Spurs and only behind Liverpool, and they're up there for XG4 as well. So it it just it just shows the fact that they're they are 10th in the league, they are they all doing well, but it's hard not to look at anything, you know, you should be doing so much better just based on based on the balance of play from these games.
00:25:02
Charlie
Yeah, I mean, we're we've we've been really spoiled, I think, for how well we've played so far this season, to beat to be within, you know, touching distance of probably like almost five, six more points that we could have we could have had already this season.
00:25:17
Charlie
um Some of them have been a lot tougher to take than others. I think this game and West Ham were sickeners really, like really, really tough to take. um But then I also think we could be getting probably a point against ah yeah United that first game of the season. We could have we could a beat City. I mean, there are a lot of performances there to be really praised, but then there are a lot of points that ah we've just lost them.
00:25:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
the ah The other annoying little thing is ah you look at the late goals, they can see the Tezerksi, the Danyings and the Beto and so those three players, they're probably not going to get more than half a dozen goals between them this season. and
00:25:57
Charlie
Yeah, I mean that's, yeah, where we always managed to just boost up some other players stats, don't we? We're just being nice, that's what it is.
00:26:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
