Speaker: I'm your Game

Speaker: Master, Eric. I'm Mia. hello and welcome to everon renewed and actual play podcast that the ever on campaign setting i'm your game master eric i meana I'm Phillip.

Speaker: I'm Madison. I'm Jeff. Welcome to another episode, folks. What happened last time? Fought some badgers. Fought hot magma badgers in your area. That's right.

Speaker: And um yeah, we got a fight with some things. Something has escalated. Whether the woodland creatures have gotten more aggressive and left or whether we got pushed out by something, we don't know.

Speaker: But they came to town. And we put them down. And it made us throw. Three hot badgers and a rock hawk. I can't believe none of you put the pun together. It was a rock hawk.

Speaker: K-U. And... It's a Jayhawk. Yeah, neither one of them exist. And so now we are finally... Oh, and... Was that last episode that we met...

Speaker: I got to write her name down. Mayla. Mayla. Yeah, I know. I'm bad. You did so good with the gnome archaeologist. We met Mayla previously. assisted in this fight and now is going into the woods with us. Yes.

Speaker: She's about what? Going into the woods with us? Prior associate. it Oh. I was hoping. I just got another confirmed friend. i ah Well, that's up to Valk and Mayla. That's on Jeff's call. Yeah.

Speaker: She's Valk's so-and-murother, that's all I know. They're friends. Valk is just unsettling. smith smith We all know. Yes, you're headed into the woods. So, you all begin venturing, and we are going to use a system in 13th Age that we have yet to use, which is their montage system.

Speaker: So, the way this is going to work Madison will be thrilled. This is a very improv heavy system. So, so the way this works is we'll, we'll start with Philip.

Speaker: So, and just based on, based on my screen, we will go Philip, Jeff, Madison, me, background to Philip. The way this works, Philip is going to describe a problem that you all encounter while traveling through the woods and then, but not describe the solution to that problem.

Speaker: Just open and delete, describe a problem. Philip, why are you making a face? i hate this. And then jeff yeah hes ready pick up where felt gm a game Jeff is going to pick up where Philip left off and describe how Kaz's skills and or abilities overcome that problem as you all travel.

Speaker: Then feel like I did this exercise in creative writing class in high school. Well, you're about to do it on a podcast, Philip. And then, then I'm, I'm afforded the opportunity to provide any embellishments or clarify anything in Jeff's solution. And then we pick up with Jeff describing a problem that the party encounters.

Speaker: Madison will describe how Selena's skills and abilities overcome that problem. And we go around one, one time. So. Philip, take a moment and think about a problem that you all would encounter traveling through these woods that are infused with Lamania.

Speaker: Any warning. There's like 16 books behind me that would solve this problem for me without anything. You know what Lamania is? no china I mean, everything's wildly overgrown. So the the path has to be just ridiculously choked with massive undergrowth and...

Speaker: trees that are too close to it like this has to be the worst hiking experience that one can imagine okay so the path is horribly overgrown and you're having a hard time navigating it and getting past the overgrowth jeff how does kaz's skills overcome this problem or abilities I think there is a lot of overlap in the flora, not the flora of, but the idea of of of wildness in Lamania and in Zolaus.

Speaker: um And so I think that there is some latent i mean latent magic in Kaz. He tries to summon another sprite to kind of forge ahead a bit because he is still fairly certain they're disposable.

Speaker: But I think what happens instead is it's just kind of a force projection comes out of him. And if this doesn't mess up the whole overgrowth of Lamania generally, there's some attrition. and maybe a path makes itself more clear for a short time through either some of it shrinks or perhaps there's a flowering that happens on the way we're supposed to, ah like that shows us an easier path.

Speaker: Okay. Yeah. I like it. Okay. Jeff. What's a problem that the group encounters now that you all have navigated the thick overgrowth on the past? I think the visibility is an issue. It's a dark, dark forest, right? And canopy would have overgrown quite a bit.

Speaker: So I think just the, the, the way finding because of visibility would be too difficult. Okay. Madison. Thankfully, Selena has a wizard's cantrips so she can cast light.

Speaker: Nice. Okay. She will. We'll lead the way with her light. Nice. Is it just a little mote of light that like floats near Selena or you cast it like on an object that like baits light?

Speaker: Cast it on the dog. Cast it on the dog. Okay, I'll cast it on the dog. We just consent. Oh, Barna. Barna's light, or Barna's tail is just emitting light now, and he is very confused.

Speaker: We got a glowing dog. Everything's fine. Madison, you've solved the light issue. What is another problem that the party encounters while traveling through the woods? You all are getting fairly deep into the woods now.

Speaker: These bugs are really big. There's so many big big bugs and they just are staring across the path. Nice. Yeah. Giant, giant bugs that aren't like hostile.

Speaker: In fact, they are potentially quite like spooked of you potentially, but some of them aren't. You hear some rumblings and you see like a giant grasshopper, like jumping great distances onto the side. Mia, how Valk deal with these bugs?

Speaker: I think it's probably more subconscious, but Valk has... Actually, does he have access to that spawn? We'll claim it, because I don't... It'll take me until I'm looking up. It has the ability to kind of, like, make a target of his choosing kind of, like, slip in in space to where it's not actually jumping towards the group. It's kind of, like... okay It thinks it's jumping, but it's actually jumping flyseed back.

Speaker: Interesting. Trying to keep... the giant bugs away not that he has a problem with giant bugs bugs are skittering in his mind so oh yeah yeah so it looks like the bugs should be like crawling onto the path but like reality is kind of warping to keep them like at bay um mia what's another problem now that you are getting very deep into the woods that you all encounter I think the problem now is going to be the living trees and pollen.

Speaker: Floating pollen that we were saying. It's starting to get pretty thick and the trees are starting to to shuffle around a bit. I'm noticing there's external presence. Okay. Nyx. I mean, Nyx could, I guess, like incinerate pollen, but unless you guys want me to start hacking at the trees...

Speaker: Nyx. And this could be more about like continuing to navigate along the right path and not get confused by the trees moving around. It doesn't necessarily need to be like sure stopping the trees from moving. I think the the just general radiant heat of Nyx is unpleasant to the extremely

Speaker: verdant plant life around us and then forces things to draw back a little bit. Nice. I also like to think you just talking about Nyx having so much radiant heat. You're getting deeper into the very dark woods, so the air is getting cooler.

Speaker: And so Nyx's radiant heat creates like a vertical updraft, so the pollen just naturally also gets like ah floating up and away. that's That's how that works.

Speaker: And I won't hear anything about it. I like it. This whole time, Mela has also been like listening in the trees, hearing the movement of the wildlife and helping to navigate you all away from, um any potential threatening fauna.

Speaker: Philip roll a D 12 for me. 11. Okay.

Speaker: Oh yeah, she does an excellent job for the first. You all travel for a couple of hours into these woods. It's fairly slow going because of the overgrowth and the bugs and ah the darkness, the treats moving about.

Speaker: Madison, roll a d12 for me.

Speaker: Nine. Okay. you all find yourselves at a bit of a clearing as you're traveling deeper uh i need everyone to make me a wisdom check this would be like perceiving a shift in something nope 26 21.

Speaker: put twenty six

Speaker: twenty one Nine. Okay. It is not seeming boosted about his either. I've rolled a, I rolled a six. I get to add my like 10, I guess. is Okay. It's really hard to keep single digit rolls in this game. And I managed to do do it. Yeah. You all continue on. You don't really notice anything drastically changing that much.

Speaker: Um, as Mela continues to travel with you all.

Speaker: You enter this clearing and you see some clear signs of a small camp set up right at the edge of this clearing. Just a cursory glance, you can see that this campsite was made for eight individuals.

Speaker: It's a small fire was made. There are patches where the bedrolls were laid out. So you see like the grass and things like pressed down where they slept.

Speaker: But the, there are a few pieces of equipment that were left behind, mostly cooking implements that you can see just at first blush and the evidence of a fire that was burned. That's all you initially notice, but this is a campsite for eight people. I'm going check for any residual magic for,

Speaker: Okay, give me an intelligence check and your investigator would work. 28. Okay. a

Speaker: You can tell that there is a section of the grass... That is very thick, like much more like growing densely together, but it is crushed down in a circular shape.

Speaker: And it's like the grass grew up and around a a, spherical object that was set on the ground for a duration of time. You see residual magic there.

Speaker: That is, well, let me see what type of magic transmutation. mor Anyone else want to look at anything here or you just.

Speaker: It's probably, it's hard to tell what time of day it is. You would guess probably based on the time that you left, it's mid-afternoon. Let's say three to four o'clock.

Speaker: but know but big diamond and i'm sure anything but Are there any more, i was like the wheelbarrow tracks or did they place the asset on the ground?

Speaker: It looks like, at least for the duration they were here, it was placed on the ground. You do see the wheelbarrow tracks, like, going into and leaving the campsite. help In fact, you can give me, anyone could give me a wisdom-based check to investigate the wheelbarrow tracks, since that's something that has been, had attention involved.

Speaker: Okay. I dropped it. i was a three. um We're going to own that. Sixteen. but That one was a you as you recall the early stages of the wheelbarrow tracks, and now that they're here, it looks like the wheelbarrow over time that they've been traveling is getting heavier.

Speaker: Like the tracks are getting deeper over time.

Speaker: I mean, i I just, is it, is a 25 high enough to know if it's like, a regular interval like every 10 feet they stop pick something up it gets deeper or is it more it's more of one of those things that you didn't notice until you noticed kind of thing like you traveled for a few miles and went oh wait like these are a lot deeper like it's a very gradual process okay in that case can I make another wisdom check and see if I see anything near the tracks that looks disturbed this is long enough ago that like foliage would have grown back over though huh

Speaker: You what I'm saying? Like, if can see, maybe... Or can I keep an eye out as we walk? You can absolutely make the check. Okay. yeah wisdom is Wisdom is not my best stat. I really lucked out on the last one.

Speaker: Yeah, no, 12.

Speaker: 12. Yeah. You don't really notice. I mentioned that, though, to everyone else. keep Keep an eye out for if they can see. It looks like things that have been on our path. I i have...

Speaker: I have fallen away from how 13th age tells ah GMs to handle roles like this. Yes, you do. you are fairly confident that they've been adding stuff to the wheelbarrow as they travel. go I certainly share that.

Speaker: I get low to the ground and say, you guys know how I'm an expert in tracking? Telling the credibility of what about to That's what I'm about to

Speaker: Barna does that hilarious dog thing that dogs do in comedy movies where they put a paw over their snout while they're laying down because they're so embarrassed of what's happening. Right. Okay. So pressing forward past the campsite. I think so.

Speaker: I suppose we must. Yep. Okay. Unless we see eight little beds, we keep going. You all start walking through this clearing. Um, the, the grass in this clearing, you see additional woods, probably 50, 60 feet ahead of you.

Speaker: And you see the, the divot of the wheelbarrow and tracks, but the grass is probably about up to your mid thigh. As you walk through it, the grass is very tall here.

Speaker: And Mia roll a D 12 for me. That's another three. You all make it to the clearing without issue. The temperature really drops as you enter this next section in the woods.

Speaker: Um, you know, it's, I think we've said it's like in our timeline, April ish, I think is around the time that it is. It's definitely springtime, but it, you get kind of that cold front chill that hits you all as you enter this next section. You stand a little bit closer to Nyx. We have hand.

Speaker: And she loves it. Come on in gang. You all travel for another couple of hours and you see Phyllis stops you all on a path. and holds up a finger like she's listening intently to something.

Speaker: And she says, she turns and whispers to you all. I've been seeing some tracks. I was hoping that we could avoid it, but looks like we continue following their path.

Speaker: We are going to encounter fauna. I'm guessing wolves there. They seem to be canine in nature. We can divert our path and go around them. in the hopes of picking up the trail once we get around the den or we can dispatch the wildlife and continue on the pass.

Speaker: but What sort of assessment would need to make to see if the if the if the growth and everything has made it even more difficult this deep in to re-find our original path?

Speaker: cause I'd rather not go through these wolves we can avoid them for both our sake and theirs. Yeah. And I mean, you you could scare them away also. Like it doesn't necessarily need to be a lethal encounter, but it would it would require a pretty hefty check on Mela's part or on someone else's part to pick the trail back up.

Speaker: It's certainly her skill set. She would be able to, but it is a risk, which is why she is presenting it here now. I guess a better way to put it, she will be able to refine the track. It's how long will that take?

Speaker: Like, how much time are you going to be giving up? I mean, I don't want to fight a bunch of wolves that are just existing out here. Do you guys? we really don't. Not unless we have to. and We could just scare them away, but, you know, if they decide not to be scared, then we have to fight them. Or a run.

Speaker: but well we can try running. i I'm going to go out on a limb and say none of us are as fast as a giant wolf. Oh, yeah, they are our strength. Valk, are you under the impression you're faster than a regular size wolf?

Speaker: You might be. I don't know your things. I can also shapeshift into ghosts that are true, scary. So Valk, they are humanoid. That's true. Like a dragonborn.

Speaker: Scale one, non-thing. I also can alter reality to an extent, but we can also just go around. Okay. if you want to try to alter reality to when these things aren't here, that's also an option. I was just presenting the two things that I knew and could understand, but think both options are going to be a level of risk of failure or so.

Speaker: Okay. Well, it seems like good. You all want to go around that.

Speaker: Is that what we want to do? I do try to, I don't really have any. What is I don't know that I anything can assist with rolls to re-find our path to make it quicker.

Speaker: I know I can help us kill a bunch of wolves if we need to

Speaker: if we need From a meta standpoint, I will say, fighting the wolves is the quicker and more guaranteed option to maintain your path. like yeah the The far riskier choice is to go around.

Speaker: Do we want to try to scare the wolves away? I say sure. Okay. Next, what do you think? Oh, go ahead. Selena, what do you think? now we're talking about scaring the wolves away and not going around the wolves? We're, we're, the three options seem to We're trying reach to reach a consensus.

Speaker: The three options seem to There's only two inputs. Try to scare the wolves, try to fight the wolves, go around the wolves. That has... Reminded us that he can shape shift and alter reality in a way that might make the wolves uncomfortable and scared enough that they just......run off and we can stay on the path without having to fight them.

Speaker: I'm good with tribe. I am unlikely to intimidate a a very, very large wolf without......bringing in some sort of assistance. Oh, right.

Speaker: Those guys. I mean, I can't scare the wolves either. I would just be there to be on the defense if the wolves decide not to be scared. i And Kaz puts his hands, it goes into a power pose with fingers spread, arms up, and says, not gonna this isn't going to get it done.

Speaker: Works for bears occasionally. So who knows? I'm fine with going around. I'm fine with trying to scare them off. And if the scaring off doesn't work, I'm fine with fighting I...

Speaker: Only in that event am I fine with fighting them. But we haven't been acting like we're on the biggest time crunch to get through these woods up to this point either. yeah Shall we avoid? i have said my vote. yeah I think let's try to scare them.

Speaker: was going to think everyone, I didn't think mostly we agreed with Valk. Oh. That's a first. So we're trying to scare the wolves? It's not. This morning you convinced us all to do something. oh Yeah, you all should have really expressed reluctance on scaring the wolves so that could have brought you around.

Speaker: Okay, so how are you all going to scare these wolves? Bye.

Speaker: Initial thought is because I can shape change into something that is medium humanoid. ah So I was going to... twoirs or or weather call bar like Oh, the dragon, the draconics.

Speaker: Yeah. So I was going to turn into a draconic and then I was also going to see if I could use... Well, it's not like a literal spell, but try to use...

Speaker: my magic to in some way like make the appearance either much larger or more menacing like either larger in number or larger in size with the goal of like almost forcing a surrender out of through intimidation okay give me so draconic slash dragon spawn race that you're seeing is akin to like dragonborn. So you walk on two feet, you you are just very draconic in appearance.

Speaker: Give me, so you can just do that as a jakeling. No check required for that. If you want to make yourself appear larger or more numerous, that would probably require a intelligence check to use your magic to manipulate your reality in some way.

Speaker: whether that's creating a bunch of mirror images of yourself or altering your size. Um, or you could, uh, alter your companion's appearance using the magic rather than just a mirror image thing. You could make everyone else look like a draconic or dragon, dragon board as well.

Speaker: So which of those options would you like to explore? I'm a monster. Rawr. I would not alter anyone's form without their approval. I mean, Valk doesn't even like to change his own form. So I think I would try to go for, oh, probably a a larger number with mirror images.

Speaker: And then again, I don't think that the attempt would be in a... threatening way as in to attack but more of like a you know how like dogs do it when they check other dogs just kind of like just stay down and stay back okay so give me an intelligence shape to cast a spell to let' use the eyeball dice

Speaker: i my own eyeball dice yeah bet you i bought them for this campaign That is 15 plus.

Speaker: Can use Zoria? Do i get at that? Yes, that that is what fuels your magic, so for sure. Out of the 27. Okay, so you're able to alter reality around you.

Speaker: And sorry, remind me, were you going with the bigger option or the mini option? The mini. I think having more numbers, if there is a potential den around, would be. Okay. Just because it is Zorriot magic, Mia, I'm going to describe this as you all see Valk transform into dragonborn.

Speaker: Mia, what does Valk's dragonborn form look like? i Uh, I think, uh, well, of course he's purple, but I think it is, um, more slender. It's more of like a ah deadly look. no but If you're thinking more of like, I know it's not like a lizard. Well, it's a reptile. Like a kind of like more viper-ish.

Speaker: Gotcha. It is a slimmer bodied, but like the scales are are purple. The patterning is black and white going down the body. There is occasional like turquoise scales. So a lot of like your natural, like I am poisonous. I am dangerous. Nice. Stay away.

Speaker: How many copies of Valk were you attempting this summon? How many can I make? yeah without i would say that I have a roll probably a ah dozen or so. Okay. good Yeah.

Speaker: But the way that they, they don't just pop into existence because that's not how Valk would roll. That's not how the magic of Zoriat rolls. You all see Valk turn into a dragonborn. And then you see Valk Swarm begin to like,

Speaker: stretch yeah as an additional face kind of pops out and it's this very labored like peeling process another form of that pops off and then again and again like the it's like these are being not torn in into because it's not bloody but like yeah stretched apart until they pop into two separate entities it's a very upsetting to look at Yeah, it is.

Speaker: That's why I don't see it. i quickly turn around because I have free will. ah I literally have part of a very similar scenario. Heck yeah. ah Thanks, Eric.

Speaker: You're welcome. Val can alter reality, Kaz. You turn around and you're still facing the same direction. Val wants you to watch Behold Me and Despair. Okay, so you've successfully manifested the clones.

Speaker: So now I'm going to need a charisma base check for you to intimidate or well, I'll need roll to intimidate these wolves as you come upon them. I will let you determine charisma makes sense to me, but I'm willing to hear a pitch for something else. but oh I think charisma is normal for performance.

Speaker: For the sake of trying to get a slightly higher modifier, can I rely on my wisdom of ah I already forgot the dog's name.

Speaker: barnet Barna. Barna. And how Barna acts whenever there were people that he did not like and wanted to be left alone, aka myself, and tried to use that very like basic animal knowledge to replicate that kind of.

Speaker: it's Okay. That goes from a five to an eight. That is good. i have to the mast again plus Zoriat or just the modifier plus level. I'll allow Zoriat since this is all kind of fueled by your Zoriat magic.

Speaker: Okay, okay. So that's 24 to intimidate. 24. 24.

Speaker: two today twenty four We roll for these wolves. Yes. All of us that saw are sufficiently intimidated. Yeah, the wolves roll very poorly.

Speaker: So, yeah, Valk, describe this scene to me. Describe, you know, what it looks like when this army of Valk dragonborn descend upon these wolves. I think it's almost, it's like seeing in like the movies, a swarm of snakes appear out of the dark. So you see the one and then there's the second and the third the fourth and then all the way up. Yeah. There's 12 of them.

Speaker: Um, and it's more of like keeping that eye contact while almost forming like a barrier. it was like, you're not going to cross, either I guess, us.

Speaker: Um, And then like maybe occasionally snapping if they try to take a step forward. It's like a warning.

Speaker: But I think, yeah, it's more, more snake like an intimidation. Okay, cool. Yeah. The wolves take off running into the darkness. They, they kind of sniff for a second and then do not want to stay around these, uh, entities. And so they are outnumbered.

Speaker: I have another question. Okay. I don't think this one counts, though. Did I force a group of non-MOOC enemies? Oh, no, caught that. Never mind. We're good.

Speaker: God, you and your stipulations. I'm trying to get this book, man. If you would have started the fight and then pulled that, then yes. Okay. going to have doctors running around starting fights. It's a whole bit of problem.

Speaker: Yeah, Melea can hear the wolves take off. So Melea kind of gestures for you all like the the way ahead is clear. And you all walk forward and then you just see a group of like, we said you created a dozen. So 13 Valk dragonborn just turn around and look at you all.

Speaker: was one minute. Hold on. It's going to take a second can to get the middle back. And then very slowly they start morphing back into each other until finally the last one. Can you not watch? It's actually quite painful. Are they just like milling about, bumping into each other? i think it's more violent than that. I think it's like reverse. Like if you were to rip something off of your skin, it's like the reverse of that. Rejoining. Rejoining.

Speaker: Fine, Mia. It's like that. this oh Yeah. I had a more upsetting version, but I like Mia. I want the more upsetting version. ohll I'll tell you all after after we stop the recording. big It can be just for us. Anyway. that but Yeah, you all continue ah venturing forward. the You all come upon A wheelbarrow that's been abandoned by the side of the road. It was very clear why the wheelbarrow was abandoned.

Speaker: The wheelbarrow was made of wood. yeah And the wood on the outside is now fully barked. And like branches have started growing off of it. Oh, that's why it was getting heavier.

Speaker: the three wheel three years So it it became very clear that the wheelbarrow became more of a hindrance at this point. Like, yeah, the front wheel is literally stuck in the dirt.

Speaker: Okay. Everyone can... There's another clearing that you all walk through. Everyone give me one more perception check. Oh, my gosh. Ten. Eighteen.

Speaker: Twenty. Nope. I lied to you. Eighteen. that is a nineteen unless I get to add investigator. Not for this. No.

Speaker: Okay. You all see... That at this point, the tracks like Mela stops and plenty of you are competent enough trackers. Mela kind of stops and like looks, they I think they doubled back.

Speaker: And as you all look, you see that the tracks that for four of them are a lot deeper now. You're assuming they're they're carrying the orb now. Yeah, they reached a point at this clearing where they clearly stopped for a second. Like the the orb got set down and then they picked it up and they started like did a U and started walking back the other way.

Speaker: As you all turn around, it was close enough to where this would be apparent. As you all turn around to look back at the direction that they now went, but you no longer see the wheelbarrow behind you. Oh.

Speaker: I am... Oh, well, I'll show up. Sometimes when Eric says something that's supposed to be slightly revelatory narration, Philip will make a face. Like, he's like, oh, yeah, of course. I'm like, what do you... What?

Speaker: How? That's not what that... No. like Like, what are you thinking? or why didn't I? think Maybe less, oh yeah, of course, and more, why didn't I think that was going to happen? i like How could you possibly? Of course, Eric is going to lead us out into the woods and then trap us here.

Speaker: yeah Now that that one, yes. Both in the game and in real life. I don't trust this Philmont upbringing of his. How dare you? Is our is our back trail still visible? No.

Speaker: I will say, I think when Kaz turns around and sees the missing cart, he looks up. Is there... Like, you realize looking up, Kaz, the trees are much taller than what you thought they just were.

Speaker: But there's not like a living vine snatched cart up above us now. You do not see that, no. Okay, genuinely, that's what Kaz, that's what Jeff and Kaz. Are they the same trees, just taller?

Speaker: I'm going to say no. Like they they are they are larger trees, both vertically and horizontally. Did anyone like to guess as to where we are? Like, what made we say? Were they? can't believe...

Speaker: Can't believe we should have listened to Vashen. That's what I'm thinking. Continue. Were we described the Whispering Cops? Just a very dense grouping of trees at the center of the woods, but no, that you didn't get any further description.

Speaker: Do... Is there a tangible sensation to crossing planes? Like we've done it now. So, okay. Is there any sign of the cargo that they had with them?

Speaker: Like, or they needed a wheelbarrow to get it out here and they've abandoned the wheelbarrow. You can see that some of the, cause you can see their footprints headed back. Some of the footprints are much deeper than the others. you get a sense that some of them are not carrying You keep saying headed back, but there is no back.

Speaker: No, they they are now going back into the woods that are now behind you. Like, you can't see the trail that got them here, but now that you've turned around, you can see their trail continuing back into the woods. You just can't see the trail that you just took to this point. But it also doesn't appear to be the same woods.

Speaker: Correct. So they're not headed back into the woods. They're they're headed back into an entirely different woods. They're headed back to the direction you just came from. Except when I look behind me, there's no evidence that I just came from that direction. I'm saying we're dislocated. There is no back. like I'm going to need a diagram.

Speaker: Where we were. it's It's really. Yes, semantically, you are correct, Philip. I think you understand what I'm saying. it Yeah. I'm saying that the disorientation that you have just described means that there're there is no behind me to where I was before.

Speaker: So yeah the idea that they headed back has no actual meaning in this context. Correct. They're not headed back to town. they are Clearly, they made a yeah U-turn and are now headed that direction, in the direction were just coming from in the previous woods, but there is a new woods behind you with a brand new trail.

Speaker: Right. As though we had been walking south into an elevator. The elevator went up a floor, and now we're walking back north into a different terrain, but technically the same direction we came from.

Speaker: Is that, that helped to know what I guess. It's U-turn. I'm trying to work out whether where if we've jumped into a plane, right north has no meaning.

Speaker: Yes, correct. So like if we've jumped into Labania, whatever layer of Labania we're on just goes on forever in every direction. There isn't a north pole. There isn't celestial navigation.

Speaker: No, but you are using the way you are facing as the directional point. Sure. Are we gonna follow the tracks? Back to the new place? were Back to the future? gotta go back, Kaz! If at all our only la source of orientation, yes, we should continue to follow the tracks.

Speaker: It's what we are after. That's why we came in here. Yep. Yeah. That feels right. At least it was this level of the money we stumbled into.

Speaker: This level? It could have been the endless ocean. Then we would just be underwater somewhere. um True. I don't think I knew there was an endless ocean. So when I said, does anyone have any idea where we are?

Speaker: Well, you do. I have a hunch, certainly. There are also like five people talking. So based on my conversation with Valk, it seemed like your mission was to track down the individuals that brought this orb in here to see if that was the cause of what was going on.

Speaker: Certainly what a gateway to Lamania that is open is a lot bigger than we had thought. So think we still figure out what's going on with these individuals. You don't know how to get back, I suppose. ah there There are manifest zones that we can attempt to locate. I do have some magic that can help me try to locate a doorway.

Speaker: Whether or not it's minutes, hours, days, weeks away, that's something we will have to figure out once we are ready to head back. But I do not have a spell that just gets us back where we are standing. No.

Speaker: All right. But I can find us a path if we need. What is going on? What did I do? Does this count as one plane that I've taken the wand into?

Speaker: Yes, this counts as a plane that you have not taken the wand. gotta win. Three tries, but I gotta to win. you take if You've taken the wand into a plane. good Great.

Speaker: Love that for you. Thank you. I think Cass hears it could take weeks for us to potentially find, to maybe find a way back and starts to have a bit of a crisis inside himself and then asks, what's the time difference?

Speaker: Like if we're here for weeks, how long are we gone from home? I was actually just about to look that up, Jeff. So thank Great. I just want to have a very silent,

Speaker: she murmured she just suggested I can't say the phrase without it getting blurt or beeped, but you know.

Speaker: so that the He's just... Who could have known? who could have who could have thought something like this would happen? We agreed to not go to the woods. You changed your mind. Because out of all of us, the only person asking questions and trying to investigate further is me. If no one else is helping, then I guess we're going to go back to the default option of going with everyone's initial plan of just going into the woods. If I'm not getting help, the person, the player with the least knowledge of this world...

Speaker: yeah but It was your contact! So... So you talked to them! andotic go into the woods And exhausted all questions!

Speaker: Yes! so And so did no one else said anything! So of course we're gonna go back into the woods! Yeah! I can be right and wrong. That is the point. do not think you can. Having a flawed character? Absolutely. ah if When something goes wrong, I knew i knew it was going to go wrong, but I'm also going to take accountability that I was a part of this decision. am 0% of the time sure if I'm talking to me or me. Mela...

Speaker: says thankfully Lemania is a one-to-one ratio when it comes to time. So the time we spent here will be the time that we return at. Okay, good. It just could be a month. That is true.

Speaker: But is this the sort of place that is this a forest that will get mad at us if we eat from it because we're here for a month? This forest operates like any other forest except it is wild, untamed magic, but the not all the trees are sentient. So you'll know if you're trying to eat from a tree that will be upset if you eat from it. Okay.

Speaker: You'll know before you attempt to eat Okay, it's like the way I find out is the problem for me. That is my sticking point. All right, well. but I suppose we continue to follow the trail? Yeah.

Speaker: Yes. Yep. Let's do it. Or would you all like to attempt me to find a pet path home? Like, i I assume that we want to continue to try solve this problem. I think we continue on. We came here to do this.

Speaker: So we do this. All right. Then Mela begins to follow the trail into the woods.
