Stephen is Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at Newcastle University and their Regional Hub Lead for the Climate Ambassadors scheme. He grew up in NE England and after A-Levels went to work in a bank - Went to uni in his mid-twenties where he did – yes, geography! Followed by a Masters in GIS. Stephen then went to work for a GIS company before doing his PhD at the Climatic Research Unit where he was privileged to study under Professor Phil Jones. Stephen then came back to his native north-east where I have remained since. He has a love of Spain (his husband is Spanish) but is a very slow learner of the language! Lifelong Dr Who geek and snooker fan.
