Meet the Hosts

00:00:45
Speaker
Hello and welcome to Eberron Renewed, D&D 5th Edition actual play podcast set in the Eberron campaign setting. I'm your dungeon master, Eric.
00:00:54
Speaker
I'm Philip. I'm Randy. I'm Jeff. And welcome to another episode. Gentlemen, what happened last time?

Recap of Previous Episode

00:01:00
Speaker
Oh boy. Lots of ships in the harbor, taking nasty shards to other big cities to cause trouble. They're about to have a bad day. Yep. A giant obelisk. How did you guys tell the rest? Opened a portal into my bar, probably.
00:01:28
Speaker
And, um... Booyah would know. Yeah, there's a... there's a quarry. Like an actual quarry. In the room. And the invasion starts now. Today. You didn't say now. Today. We might have to, like, after lunch. We don't know. Feels very nowish. No, you're right. I did have the insouciance of immediacy.

Encounter with the Quori

00:02:00
Speaker
The phrasing that you use really makes me think that instead of addressing the elephant in the room, it's addressing the quarry in the room in Eberron speak.
00:02:12
Speaker
OK, so so yes, you all are in the Red Ring in the seating looking down over 40 to 50 inspired soldiers and members of leadership that has seemed to somehow be connected to this portal through magical means and a quarry just emerged. Everyone give me an insight check real quick.
00:02:44
Speaker
Oh, excellent. 21. Okay. Also 21. Okay. 16. Okay. Orianna appropriately rolled a natural one because I think
00:03:05
Speaker
think Orianna would probably be terrified at this point. I don't know. I mean, obviously you're more in control of the internal state of Orianna, but my guess would be
00:03:16
Speaker
This just got realer than it's ever been. Fair enough. Yes, I concur with that astute assessment. So, yeah, Booyah, Dex and Beric can all tell.

Strategizing the Next Move

00:03:33
Speaker
I guess Rickard's been with you guys too this whole time. Forgot about that. Yes, I go too.
00:03:46
Speaker
I basically the three of you can tell you're not entirely certain, but the money is about to be money is about to take off sprinting. You just can't quite tell if it's far away from here or directly towards the quarry. The money. Eric says in a stage whisper. What what?
00:04:18
Speaker
What can we do? What can we do here? And you you see Bhimani about to speak. And then.
00:04:40
Speaker
You see her kind of fight and her eyes begin to glow and you hear the voice of Kitesh come out of her. It does not belong here. No, we know that's destroyed now. No, but but look, look, we were told the name of the quarry that she that she's
00:05:07
Speaker
That's why. Kitesh. Kitesh. We know that. Yes. Kitesh. There's a lot of them down there. We... I mean, maybe you are capable of this. But...
00:05:32
Speaker
Based on the information that we have, those are some competent individuals down there. And just sheer numbers means that we're not equipped for a frontal assault on this place. I agree with you. We need to kill the quarry or drive it back into Dal Kor. But if we charge down there, the quarry is not going to be the problem. It's going to be the 40 or 50 odd
00:06:03
Speaker
Inspired down there. OK, go and give me a persuasion check. 11. The money kind of fights against Kitesh, but fails. Mm hmm.
00:06:31
Speaker
And Kitesh snaps at you and says, you do not have to come, but it cannot be allowed to leave this place. Kitesh. If we were. I'm not saying this is what we should do.
00:07:02
Speaker
But if we were to enter that portal, would you be able to guide us through Mahbar to Dal Kor? Kitesh kind of regards you for a moment. Possibly, but...
00:07:25
Speaker
Too much danger, too much darkness. This vessel would die. You would likely die. The darkness would overwhelm you. That's what I feared. While this conversation's going on, Dex and Booyah, you...
00:07:51
Speaker
You've kind of been glancing back and forth, and you've seen the quarry walking about the inspired soldiers. And it's much less performative than his last line, so you can't quite make out what he's saying, because it was a booming proclamation of intent. But some of the inspired soldiers have begun funneling out. You would guess about five to six have left the Coliseum at this point.
00:08:25
Speaker
some leave decks maybe we wait more leave then maybe we attack i mean i mean maybe but also i mean i don't know this sucks attack katash sound like he gonna attack
00:08:49
Speaker
The quarry, while you're talking, turns and barks, not enough for you all to hear. Add more crystals, stabilize the portal.

Critical Oversight: Uncharged Weapons

00:08:57
Speaker
And the portal is beginning to kind of waver and you see some soldiers run to a large crate of Kyber crystals and you begin seeing that there are slots in the runes at the bottom that they are like sliding them into. It seems like the portal burns up the Kyber crystal and they have to be periodically replaced in order to stay stable.
00:09:18
Speaker
Interesting. You do, however. Note a. A new form. Begin to fight against the portal and struggle to emerge. You this one seems more.
00:09:41
Speaker
insect like. You see kind of skittering legs begin to like brace itself and you see fluttering floating eyes begin like. The portal and looking around and then you see an insect teen head pop out and it kind of slithers out. It didn't need to fight as much as the other quarry. And this one you hear regard the other one and say.
00:10:11
Speaker
Well done, Van God! What is our next move? And then they begin conferring. Booyah. Booyah here. Or Gavin Brash, I need to know what's happening. If we die here, and I'm feeling like that's not an impossibility at this stage,
00:10:40
Speaker
someone's got to bring this thing down I don't know what to do here I chase I don't know what to do here maybe tell me I think maybe till we tell our gift forget ship come here
00:11:06
Speaker
As you all are talking, Kitesh interjects and says, you know what you must do until the stones are charged, those weapons you have are playthings. What?
00:11:35
Speaker
So we have to go... We have to go back to the throne. I assumed you all knew that this whole time. No! I feel like I made it clear.
00:11:57
Speaker
Okay, hang on. I made such a big point about making sure we got them charged. Did we not get them charged? No, because because there was Jayala expressed that like it would weaken the flame somewhat and Beric didn't want to do that until you all knew exactly what needed to be done. Oh, this sucks. You went there with the intent of getting them charged, but then ended up not until you gain more information.
00:12:24
Speaker
I mean, if we need to go to the tape and I'm completely wrong... No, you're right. That sounds right to me. We were right there before we came here. We're so bowed! Yeah, I mean... Once we are ready, we can guide you to the plane.
00:12:55
Speaker
But, right now, you will die. Sorry, there's no way that I can, I can't find any way to express in Beric's mind, oh yeah, we forgot to do this obviously enormously important thing while we were conveniently there. A while back on our way back from on there, we should abandon this problem.
00:13:22
Speaker
Oh, this was player boneheadedness. I'm so mad at myself. Yep. I'm also mad at everyone else. That's not true. Oh, what do we do? Well, yeah, I don't want to die yet. No, I mean. I mean, that's definitely let's call that plan D. But obviously we can't leave live quarry in Stormreach.
00:13:54
Speaker
I mean, we'd have to we'd have no way of getting there fast. Yeah, we'd have to teleport. Which of us can do that? Well, I mean, how's who's he? What sits in their circles, but. I bet they're not open for business right now.
00:14:20
Speaker
I bet we could get him open. I don't know, because they're dragon marks. They're not just shopkeepers. They're not just some doofus with a wine shop. Sorry, I'm assuming they're dead. Oh, you think all the dragon marks have been killed? I mean... I suppose it makes sense.
00:14:45
Speaker
The sewers were literally full of dead people. Beric is assuming most of the population is dead. That's true, but we also just had to send a crowd away. I mean, like a dozen people, but yeah. And didn't know, hey, oh no, that was the Stormlords. Because we have expressly been told things have kind of returned to business as usual as far as commerce and stuff in Stormreach.
00:15:13
Speaker
I don't remember who told us that, but it definitely happened. Oh, all the boneheaded things. This was player boneheadedness. That's what's frustrating. Right. Characters are smarter than we are. That's always been true for me, and Dex is not that smart.
00:15:49
Speaker
Let's just say that our character is smarter than us. They probably would have done it when we weren't paying attention. Back to charge them. Well, we just hope this doesn't get... Yeah. Can we flip at destiny point? Right.
00:16:25
Speaker
This, I have no idea what the right move is. Randy just rage quit. I'm like rage came back. Did you have any rage epiphany? And one more thing. It feels good to laugh again.
00:16:57
Speaker
So, I mean, the, yeah, what are y'all going to do? Do we have to try to get to Thrain? Do we have to see if there's a teleportation opportunity? I mean... I'm sorry, it just feels so incredibly stupid to see this thing and then screen-ripe to the bell ringing on the Orion. Sorry, do y'all have this so Monty Python?
00:17:29
Speaker
Oh, my God.

Race to Flamekeep

00:17:30
Speaker
I mean, you can try to see if House Orient is still operating in the city. Jace is on his way so you can just, you know, as as quickly as you can book it. I mean, that's us leaving them here for like two weeks or more. Because I mean, like a top speed just to cross the sea. No, I know. Like.
00:17:56
Speaker
Eric, how excited have you been to drop this on us, and for how long? I kind of feel like it makes you a bad person. Really? To be this excited about it. I had honestly been assuming that you all knew that just once it was clear it was time to head to Dal Kor, your plan was to head to Thrain, get them charged. I thought you all knew they weren't charged yet. I thought you were waiting until the absolute possible last second.
00:18:23
Speaker
When we turned for storm reach, that's when I thought it's time to head for. I completely forgot that we did, that we ended up not charging them. I honestly thought that we had done it. That's my bad for not bringing. I just forgot about it entirely. Because all I remembered was Dex's waffling about asking her to do it because it seemed so important to him to get it done. I totally forgot Philip or that Barak talked about like not yet.
00:18:54
Speaker
Because at that stage, we were told something that made it in. Made it what? Oh, I lost you. Because at that stage, we were told something that implied that we might not even need the weapon. Right. Yeah, I mean, we have to go, we have to try to teleport back to three. We have one option, we have to teleport back to three. There's no way we can leave this for two weeks. Okay.
00:19:19
Speaker
Do we know where the house, is it, is it Orian? Yeah. House Orian. Um, does Oriano know? I mean, we're almost practically in the Dragon Mark district where we are right here. Yeah. Um, so yeah, Oriano would be able to quickly, um, lead you down towards, um, it's going to be closer to the tower of Kolkan or Kolkaron. Um, so yeah.
00:19:50
Speaker
She can lead you all that way if you give her the go. I'm trying to think of how to deal with this in-character. Right, yeah. I mean, Kitesh just told you, so. Right, no, but there's no way that Barret goes, oh my god, I forgot. Which is, of course, what's happened, and so I have no idea how to.
00:20:12
Speaker
I mean, how do you deal with this in an honest character way? You can go with what was my honest assumption of the DM of like, Beric just waiting until the absolute last possible moment that it's clear that it has to be done now. I mean, this is like 40 minutes after the last possible moment. I mean, it's very, it's certainly safe to say the last possible moment was to knock up on us. And that happens. No, I think Beric's face sinks because he has suddenly realized that we're entirely doomed and that we've lost.
00:20:40
Speaker
because we didn't do this thing. All right, and I think Dex says, all right, here's the thing, we gotta go, we gotta go find, we gotta teleport back to the train, right? We gotta get these things charged and I don't know of another way to do this. If the options are die or press our luck to get back, go there and get back quickly,
00:21:10
Speaker
It feels like we got to try, right? Well, come back and die later. That's the spirit. Look, we got to go, right? We've got it. Oh, this sucks so much. I say we better move. Go quick as can then. I mean, if we are currently ineffectual, we've got to go.
00:21:41
Speaker
You're right. Orianna, do you know how how's Orianna is? Yeah, I can lead you there. Follow me. And she kind of... Kaddash? Yes. Can you give us some time?
00:22:05
Speaker
After giving it some thought it is clear that without this vessel to help guide you that your mission is potentially folly. So we will hold off our vengeance until a more appropriate time. You will not regret it.
00:22:24
Speaker
We should see. That's not a promise. Orianna like kind of backs down and like she doesn't like pop up and walk down the stairs. So she kind of backs down and then takes off running towards the doors that you all entered through. Follow. Yep. Okay.
00:22:45
Speaker
Um, so yeah, you all run out the doors immediately turn right and begin heading south through the city. Um, based on the way you all were talking, Oriana has, uh, given up the goose for stealth and is just trying to get you all to the teleportation. Um, the, the house orient enclave as quickly as possible. Um,
00:23:07
Speaker
So, yeah, you all are able to get there quickly. It seems like whatever the inspired soldiers were being sent out of the red ring to go do, it was not in the direction of the dragon marked houses.
00:23:24
Speaker
You. You see Oriana sprinting and there's the the sigil of House Orien hanging on a sign above a door and she just kind of shoulder barrels through it. Are you all just trying to keep up with her?
00:23:44
Speaker
Uh, trying. Yeah. Dex is keeping up with her. Um, so she slams through this door and you see a, a mild mannered human kind of start and fall out of his chair sitting behind a desk. Hey, uh, sorry about that. We need to, I have very little in his hands, pop up from behind the desk, holding them in the air, but whatever you want, there's a lockbox in the back room.
00:24:14
Speaker
All right, here's the deal. You send us to Flame Keep. Thank you, Flame Keep. It's not Throne Keep. You send us to Flame Keep and we won't let anybody know that you almost just handed over a log box full of whatever.
00:24:30
Speaker
and he kind of pulls his hands down onto the desk and uses it to lift his bespeckled head over the desk and regards the multitude of people standing in his office now. Like, so if I send you to the throne keep, you won't, or throne, flame keep, you won't rob me? That is true. That is, yep, that is now the deal. No, that was just true. That is a true statement.
00:25:02
Speaker
All right, it'll need to be in with the number of you in two trips. I can do four and then two or three and then three, but a max of four per trip. There's... Oh, Rickard. Yes, said nothing this entire adventure, so I'm just... Yo. Okay. Barak turns to Rickard and Orianna.
00:25:31
Speaker
You two should stay here. You should get back out into the jungle. Stay safe. And he takes his syndics down and hands it to Orianna. You need to wave off Jace. You need to get him back out over the jungle where he can be safe. If he comes into town right now, it's not gonna be a good thing. Give me the spear. We'll go get the stones. And take care of it then. So get... Get yourselves somewhere safe and wait for us here.
00:26:01
Speaker
I'm gonna need a check. Is it pers... I mean, deception and persuasion are actually identical for Barak, so... I mean, that's the... Do you intend to come back or is this you trying to... Barak actually doesn't know the answer to that because Barak doesn't know if we have to come back. It's not actually clear whether we have a way... Every time Barak has asked someone powerful whether they can get him into Dal Kor, they've kind of gone,
00:26:30
Speaker
Perhaps. So, actually, Barak has no idea how we're getting into the talk. The Mubarak game was just a guess. So, I'm going to say deception, since you're not sure if you're speaking very confidently for a man that does not know. Yeah. Oh, I mean, isn't that kind of what this entire adventure has been about for Barak? Ah, that's a 16 plus. 21.
00:27:01
Speaker
Riana's insight modifier. She doesn't have any skill in insight, so it's just two. Oh, that's a 19. You lucky, lucky. So she kind of is shocked and taken aback by this flurry of words that you've kind of thrown at her and she
00:27:28
Speaker
kind of shoves the spear into your chest. Point first, murdering you. A purplish crab-like monster emerges from Orianna. No, she just kind of flatly hands you the spear forcefully into your chest.
00:27:51
Speaker
And in the same motion reaches around your neck and pulls you in for a hug and says, you better come back. Okay, so I assume that Orianna, like all of us, wears some kind of satchel pack or something where we keep all of the various random stuff. That's a fair assumption. Barak has a note.
00:28:18
Speaker
that he would like as she hugs him to slip into her satchel. If you require a check, I'll make one.
00:28:31
Speaker
hoping to just let me do it because it's just narrative. There's no actual like benefit to this. OK, I'll let it happen. This this is a if I die note. Yeah, I figured so. OK, so yeah, you slide it in as she brings you in for a hug. And as that's happening, Rickard. Addresses Booyah and Dex and extends a hand.
00:28:59
Speaker
I don't imagine I'll see you again. I'm going to continue my mission in the jungle.
00:29:14
Speaker
but you're going to see her safe to the ship first. Yes, of course. Okay. Once that's accomplished, I'm going to go back to what I was doing. I thank you all for your passage on your ship, though any kind of chuckles, the welcome could have been warmer, but farewell. I still feel like we were justified in that.
00:29:41
Speaker
It was a weird time. It doesn't mean it wasn't mean. Like you could be justified and be a jerk. Weird goodbye there, Barrick. Who y'all shakes Rickard's hand? Dex also shakes Rickard's hand and he slides a note into his bag. That's what I was gonna say. I'm sorry, Randy. I took it. I took it. I'm sorry. It took my glory.
00:30:12
Speaker
Well, Dex is sliding a note into... Well, Dex is sliding a note into Rickard's bag. Booyah's sliding a note into Dex's bag.
00:30:23
Speaker
Anyway, it's a, it's a bill for all of the things we've charged to booty house account. Yeah. Okay. So time is of the essence. So, um, all this hugging is really not lending credence to our, we're going to rob you a bad guy, a tough guy thing into the teleportation ring.
00:30:42
Speaker
Okay. So, uh, Bamani, tough guys can hug. Absolutely. It's true. Bamani and the three of you step onto the circle. How much does, how much does it cost? How much did we pay last time to do this? Didn't we do this before? They gave it to us free last time. Cause Borenel was with us. So we actually don't know what it costs. And they're giving it to us free this time because how, how much costs teleport? You are not robbing me. That's the cost. I believe I won't pay money for a trip.
00:31:14
Speaker
Wait, you thought we were robbing you? We not the Rob. Okay. Um, no, we're here to use your business as intended. Right. Um, so the world will actually end if we don't get to Flanky. It seems like you all are taking an awfully long time if the world was in the balance.
00:31:34
Speaker
How much trip? Hurry. Yeah, yeah, hurry. Eric punches him. No, not actually. But for real, in this moment, that's not what you say. Fire it up, Cliff. We need to go. If a passenger fought a flame keep, that would be 12 gold pieces. Okay, we takes out 15 and puts it on the table.
00:31:58
Speaker
He touches an implement and the circle that you all are seeing, it begins to glow. And just before you actually teleport, Barak, you have a moment of lucidity as you're realizing that teleportation for four from Stormreach to Flamekeep is only two gold pieces more than that cabbie charges you. And maybe that cabbie is causing a scam in S.H.A.R.N. and then you teleport.
00:32:22
Speaker
That's not lucidity. Barrick has known that cabbie. Oh yeah. We've all known that cabbie was shifty. So yeah, in a moment you are back in the House Orion flame keep enclave.

Chaos in Flamekeep

00:32:40
Speaker
It's clear that you were not, there was no communication to receive you, so the attendants kind of like start and look over their shoulder at you.
00:32:49
Speaker
You recall that there were several circles in the the Orient Enclave and Flame Keep, whereas there was just the one in Stormreach. But all of the staff are at the doorway. Kind of looking out. Oh no. Crap. What is it? What's going on?
00:33:11
Speaker
So you all kind of hurriedly emerge out and you look. Holding so many weapons. And you see. Seemingly like piercing the sky. You see emitting from an obelisk in flame keep black shadow shooting up into the sky. How did they build an obelisk in flame?
00:33:38
Speaker
You gotta get the permits, man. Oh, this, ugh. It's a bureaucracy. We asked Borenel to warn everyone about these things. All right, here we go. Things we know about Flame Keeper. We know the direction from where we're standing to the Keeper. You all can immediately start sprinting towards where you need to go. We're not gonna pass the obelisk or anything? No, no, no, no.
00:34:09
Speaker
like like the the the church and where the the flame is kept is in like the holiest of holy section of the city so they're not going to let some schmuck with a uh a permit a building permit just start constructing things there in that case dex looks at barrick and says
00:34:28
Speaker
we will deal with this later do you ever get the impression that no matter how many times we warn people about things that they've seen with their own eyes they still just don't listen to our really clear instructions about what to warn people against to be fair look at us and i start to run towards
00:34:49
Speaker
All right, so you all are sprinting through the streets of the city. It's not chaos or anything. It's not like the city is under attack. Mostly people are just kind of.
00:35:01
Speaker
Why is it not chaos? Well, because they're confused. I mean, it's Eberron like it's magic. So they're kind of standing on the streets, exiting their homes and shops, looking confusedly at this beam of magical energy up in the sky.
00:35:21
Speaker
You hear you do hear some people proclaiming like people on street corners that the shadow has been released and fear for your lives and all that kind of stuff. Yes. Yes. Those people are reacting rationally.
00:35:38
Speaker
Dex is just yelling as they run. If you're a good guy, get back inside. If you're a good guy, go back inside. So yeah, it only takes you all a couple of minutes to sprint to the, well, Dex, you're there in about 20 seconds. The rest of you will get there in a minute. Thank God Dex is there to act as representative first. Hey, what's that one uptied guy's name? We need to talk to that one uptied guy. No, we don't. We were told that we were allowed in.
00:36:07
Speaker
um that's right we're on the list so yeah you run and you see some uh some silver flame paladins also standing staring at the the beam of light and then see uh are you still in your black cloak or did you change your white cloak
00:36:23
Speaker
I mean, I didn't say I changed into my white cloak, so... Either way, you look ridiculous. So they see... You have a weird way of saying awesome. They see an owl man in a leather suit. I don't have like... We're not... I don't have my dark vision goggles on. You always have your dark vision goggles on. You don't get to decide that for me. Yes, I do. I'm arbiter of the world. Anyway... I mean, hey, be nice to Eric. He just gave us. I just looked it up.
00:36:51
Speaker
He just gave us a 2,488 gold piece discount on a teleportation circle. Yeah. You're welcome. But you told him that, and now he's going to charge us that to get back. Anyway, the guards see you running and it's like, who are you? What's your business? Decks party of four. Tell the keeper.
00:37:17
Speaker
And they kind of look at each other and one of them runs inside the cathedral and the other one holds up his head like just a moment. So there's just one between us and the door? Yeah, I mean if we're actually using actual speed rules, I'm not sure you can see this interaction based on how far ahead Dex got. Like if everybody's just sprinting as fast as you possibly can. The only one even close is Bimani.
00:37:44
Speaker
Honestly, that guy has until Barret gets here to get back up and let us in, or we're bum rushing through this other guy. So yeah, but Mani is there first. The other one emerges. Sorry, Barret and Booyah, of course. So the other guard emerges and says that they can come in. And he swings the door open.
00:38:10
Speaker
Barak Booyah, you round the corner to see the door opening to the cathedral of the silver flame and yeah. I mean, in a massive breach of protocol, Barak does not break stride. He is he is sprinting. Yeah, we're beginning.
00:38:31
Speaker
So you all sprint in through the doors and you see standing up on the dais past all the pews and everything sitting on the throne designed as a silver flame, Jayala.
00:38:49

I think it's safe to say that Dex sprints right up until he remembers about that big demon dog. And then suddenly it gets a little slower. Yeah, so Scaravosion kind of stands up as you sprint in and bristles as you all approach.

Charging the Stones

00:39:11
Speaker
Barak skids to a halt and only then drops to a knee. We need to flame.
00:39:22
Speaker
And I have pulled the stones that I had out of the bag ready to just hand over. Because I believe I was holding all of them in my bag. Very well. Follow me. And she hops down off of her throne and turns and walks behind it towards the doorway with Scarvosian right and stride with her.
00:39:53
Speaker
leading you down the stairs that you've gone down before. She gets to the room that Borenel was left in when you all were speaking with Jayala and she says to you, are you still holding the stone's decks?
00:40:22
Speaker
If she had put her hand out for them, I would have given them up. If not, yes. No, you still have them. She didn't take it from me. She said, or she turns to you and says, this is something that you all have to do.
00:40:48
Speaker
And she kind of stands aside and gestures towards the the stairway that leads further down towards the silver flame. Wait, so we have to go address the flame directly to get this done? Eric takes one of the stones he's walking. All right, but Dex is going to follow, but he's going to turn into yelling and say, I don't even know how to address it. What do I call it? She kind of just she doesn't even meet your eyes. She just shakes her head and gestures for you to go.
00:41:18
Speaker
Alright, and then he turns and goes, I mean. Okay. And hands a rock to, hands a stone to Booyah. And we only have three, right? I guess we have four, because it's four weapons. Yeah, four. So, Bamani, hand the other to Bamani, just so we each have one, if we each have to petition individually. Yep. Okay.
00:41:40
Speaker
OK, so, yeah, you all begin like searing brightness as you descend the stairs, including you, Barak, just the magical energy that's brimming. And. As as you descend the stairs. Barak, you hear a voice.
00:42:11
Speaker
What voice do I hear? You hear Erebus. Berwick, I know that this is not what you...
00:42:30
Speaker
necessarily wanted or intended, but this will be the path to righting so many wrongs. I'm not doing what you asked me to do. And Beric walks over to the flame and he drops his mask and takes down his hood and kneels in front of the flame.
00:42:55
Speaker
As you're doing that, the voice responds and says, then you may as well turn around for all the good you'll do. I'm not killing them all. I'm going to let the cycle restart. Then I hope your ancestors have the fortitude you do when this comes up again. There would be descendants.
00:43:25
Speaker
Sorry, he's been talking down to me for, like, a year, so it felt good. In the meantime, Dex has also knelt next to Berig. Booyaz removed his helmet and has kneeled down as well. And Bhimani, sensing a custom she is unfamiliar with, does the same.
00:43:53
Speaker
The flames begin to reach out towards the stones. The flames grow brighter, oddly not hotter. It's not burning or searing you as the flames kind of engulf the stones and lift them out of each of your hands.
00:44:14
Speaker
And the stones seem to be carried by the flame into the column of flame that you see before you. And you can see light swirling around each of the stones.
00:44:30
Speaker
But just like when you look into the flame itself and can see darkness within the flame, you also see light and darkness enveloping the stones as they get, they glow brighter. You see reddish spots begin to glow brightly within the flame as the stones are imbued with the power of the silver flame.
00:44:53
Speaker
And then the stones just as they were carried in are carried out of the column and placed in each of your hands glowing so brightly that you have difficulty looking directly at them. And then the flame goes back to the way it was.
00:45:24
Speaker
stands up bows to the flame. What are the rest of you doing? I mean, like the same ish thing. I kind of look feels like we're done. So I saw Booyah do that. And I think Eric glances over.
00:45:53
Speaker
Go find out how we're getting to Dal Kor. I need a moment here. Bomani takes a moment to follow the same gesture that Dex and Booyah led with and then turns to exit and go back up the stairs. Do the rest of you exit as well? I do, yeah.
00:46:23
Speaker
Yeah, Booyah says, no be long, Beric, we have hurry. I know. Booyah follows them up.
00:46:38
Speaker
Barak, as they leave, you do note that the searing magical energy that you experienced when you were descending the steps and first came in here is decidedly lesser. You're less overwhelmed by the magical energy. You sense that the magic has been reduced by a good measure.
00:47:14
Speaker
Are you there? You actually there? Is there anyone to talk to here?
00:47:44
Speaker
Eric stands up, starts to leave I guess. Okay, you ascend the stairs.

Planning the Journey to Dal Kor

00:48:03
Speaker
As Beric reaches the top of the stairs, Bhimani is speaking to Dex and Booyah. As soon as you all reached the top of the stairs, she had turned. I believe I, and Beric, you come up near the beginning of this conversation, though you may not be listening. I believe I have a knowledge of how to get us to Daokwol.
00:48:33
Speaker
Um, the, the only thing that I would require if you, obviously these obelisks are occupied. Um, but if you know of any kind of other structure or anything, um, I, I could manipulate the runes on it to allow us to have access to Dow Corps potentially, uh, from this end to that end. Um, I would just need to be taken to a location where there is some kind of, uh, um, implement that allows planar travel. Um,
00:49:08
Speaker
Let's see, the one in Sharn destroyed. Or at least, I mean, we scheduled for it to be destroyed. I guess they might have ignored us. Is there any place that you all have gone to travel to another plane before? Didn't the gate and the Eldian reaches get broken?
00:49:37
Speaker
when the Lich came through. Is that the one that took us to? Yeah. Yeah. Siriana. I mean, there's Miss Marsh. Is that still there? I don't know. This was like episode three, so you're going to just have to. There's no reason to believe that the white oak archway that was there is gone now.
00:50:02
Speaker
There's no way for us to get to Miss Marsh immediately. Unless someone can actually cast Teleport for us and not just use a circle. Because I assume Miss Marsh is too small to have a circle. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I mean, Rookin's been trying to glow up that town, but... It's not his job anymore. Yeah, fair enough. Whoever's in charge of that really should get on it. I've been busy.
00:50:30
Speaker
I just had to take an unscheduled business trip. It's not like I can just hop back to it. I'm totally fine. Like my intention was to have in this current scenario, Jayala teleport you because she's an NPC who cares about what the player options are. But she has never been to Miss Marsh. So it will be based off of your description. So the percentages for teleport will be in play because she's sending you somewhere she's never been.
00:51:01
Speaker
I don't know if the spell allows this, you tell me. Is this one of those things like scrying, where if she has an item from the place, it affects it? Associated object means you possess an object taken from the desired destination within the last six months. We've been there within the last six months, right? It hasn't been six months since we killed Blookey. Did you take anything?
00:51:31
Speaker
Let's see. Let's see. I don't recall. I'm trying to remember if I took anything off of Lucan, which would have been from the desired location. We definitely did something before we put him in the river, but I don't remember what it was.
00:51:55
Speaker
I may just. If you all want to give her like one of your possessions, you would have had while you were residing in Miss Marsh, I won't go full associate object, but I will bump it up to she has seen it casually. Which significantly increases your chances of getting nearby. I mean, I have things that have been to Miss Marsh with us. But I can't like everything Dex has has changed since the.
00:52:24
Speaker
You know what I mean? Like since they lived in this, he didn't even have his clothes anymore because he gave him the what's-her-name. The drow. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Barak still has the weird little raven figurine that he's had the entire time.
00:52:50
Speaker
that went to
00:53:13
Speaker
She's very familiar with the Cathedral of Silver Flame, so she can teleport with you and then immediately bamf back with minimal likelihood that she doesn't end up right where she wants to be. But you all need to decide if that's the action you're gonna take or if you're gonna go somewhere else.
00:53:30
Speaker
No, I mean, obviously if she can do it, then this is the place we need to do it. I don't have any other option. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So JL at turns and says I can. I can help you if you if you have something from there. And I hand her. My weapon. And I say. I mean, this might be the most from their thing there is. Alright.
00:53:57
Speaker
And honestly, that wouldn't even take us to Miss Marsh. Its origin is right there next to the stinking, it's in the forest. So. All right. And she focuses on it. And you all are super, good thing you had that ribbon weave, or I guess Beryx amulet also would have done it.
00:54:24
Speaker
Um, so, um, you all in a moment blink and, um, it's clear that she didn't get you right on target where you wanted to go. Um, you're actually just on the outskirts of mishmarsh. You're right. Like you can see the lightning rail station in the distance. So you're outside the forest. Thank you. My lady. My lady. Yes.
00:54:53
Speaker
Flame does not speak to me anymore. For a long time now. Do you still possess a heart willing to listen? I believe so.
00:55:23
Speaker
Sometimes we think we cannot hear the flame. Because we think what we know, what voice the flame will speak to us in. And then we realize the flame has been screaming at us all along. Just just not in a way that we
00:55:52
Speaker
were willing to listen. Look to those around you who provide you your compass. Perhaps, perhaps the flame will become more clear than it was before.
00:56:29
Speaker
Goodbye, Beric. Goodbye. And she, with a gesture, disappears. With Dex's ribbon weave. How dare you? OK, so.
00:56:54
Speaker
end of
00:57:01
Speaker
We walked through the gate and Dex says, I wonder what Orgam did.
