Introduction and Show Format

00:00:28
Speaker
Keeper, where we talk about it all, from superheroes to wrestlers, we stand tall. and Kevin, the dynamic duo inside.
00:00:40
Speaker
Keeper.
00:01:24
Speaker
Hey, what's Not much, man. You? ah Doing good. Doing good. Jump right into the show this week. We got a big review we're going to review at the very end.
00:01:34
Speaker
But first, let's talk about what we watched this week. I had a finale. I'm going to briefly bring it because I've been bringing it up Every week of the show.

Apple TV Show Discussions

00:01:44
Speaker
Ended last week. But Widow's Bay.
00:01:47
Speaker
ah The first season ended. It is a great show on Apple TV. You can watch all 10 episodes now. And it has been renewed for a second season. um It's great thriller, comedy, drama. Everything.
00:02:00
Speaker
a love story of horror and and thrillers and slashers and everything set in a new england town probably off the coast of maine as there are a lot of stephen king-esque scenarios going on in this show but uh yeah great show watched that um cape fear on a stride loved this show It is a one-season show. I did find out that out this week. yeah It's going to be one season, so we'll probably get the end.
00:02:27
Speaker
um If you've ever seen the movie from the 90s, we'll probably get that ending in the last few episodes. It's kind of going towards that way. um a little bit different direction from what I remember from that movie. Maybe this is closer to the book. I'm not really sure.
00:02:42
Speaker
But... Yeah. Great. This is on Apple TV as well. There's episodes every Friday if you want to watch that along with us. I started watching, and I know the new season aired, My Adventures with Superman.
00:02:56
Speaker
I'm a binge, I think, when it's over. Okay, you are. Good, because I haven't finished it. I'm halfway through season one. I've just been too busy this week and last week. um Overall, slow to get into, but now I'm halfway through season one. And it's starting to definitely pick up.
00:03:13
Speaker
Yes. When Lois finds out about Clark and Superman and the whole thing, which happens very early in this show compared to other shows. um But yeah, this is ah this is a great anime style. I'm not really huge on anime, this is a great, great way of depicting this show. um hey you got oh Yeah. jimmy you got lois you got superman um and they're fighting inner gang in the beginning so yeah i can wait to finish this and by the time i finish this probably going through it slowly we'll probably be ready to binge season three when we're ready so towards the end of okay goodever you want to do it um cool the big thing we're gonna talk about this week though in depth The premiere of House of Dragons Season 3.

House of Dragons Season 3

00:03:57
Speaker
This was on Sunday. And you've been telling me for a while that Season 3, there's a pivotal point in the beginning of the season. A battle that you thought should have happened the end of last season. But with budget restraints, they had to push it off. Which I understand. And the sale. waterbus Right, and the sale.
00:04:15
Speaker
Filming. Yeah. um Overall, everybody's praising it for being amazing. I, too, thought it was amazing, but i don't think it was that amazing. yep It was good. It's confusing. Some of the show, because it's been so long between seasons, um I can get very easily confused on what's going on on screen. It's one of those shows I have to put my phone down and pay attention fully. If not, I'm lost for the whole entire episode and I have to find myself rewinding. There's a big battle on the sea um with the the black guy with the white hair. He runs the whole naval ships and everything.
00:04:56
Speaker
um and He's fighting on the sea and dragons come in. um And Jace, who is the he the older not the older yeah the older son of decides that he wants to go into the battle.
00:05:09
Speaker
Has he been in any battles before this? No. Right. so he goes None of them really have. This is the first right like the first battle. Right. So he goes into battle. he actually locks his mother, because his mother was about to fly in with her dragon, locks her away and says, I'm going to do this myself. Goes in.
00:05:30
Speaker
im Untrained, doesn't know what he's doing really, and gets himself, spoiler alert, gets himself killed. and his dragon And his dragon sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Um, that was heartbreaking at the end. Great scene.
00:05:45
Speaker
Overall, and also the other thing, um, the other girl, I don't know her name, that takes Sheepstealer. Reyna. Reyna.
00:05:55
Speaker
What the hell was that scene? Um, so Sheepstealer is, um, He's pretty much an untrained dragon. um In the books, there's a character, Nettles, who may or may not have Targaryen blood, and they left her out of the show.
00:06:10
Speaker
Okay. And she, over the course of, like, months, trains Sheepstealer. Okay. But when she first gets Sheepstealer, same thing kind of happens, but in this battle, Nettles has Sheepstealer, at that point, kind of trained.
00:06:24
Speaker
Okay. Of course, Reyna is the one that... didn't have a dragon she's the youngest so she wants to be like her older siblings and her cousins which of course she was betrothed to jace's younger brother who died of course last uh in season one right yeah season one and her sister's kind of in our her sister she was married to jace yeah yes um and their kid was supposed to marry the firstborn daughter of craig and stark which is why the starks Right. Or in this war for the Dragon Queen, as we saw the old wolves show up and they say we're here to die for the Dragon Queen.
00:07:01
Speaker
oh The only reason I knew that was because of the flag on the field. That's the only reason I knew it was Stark. The big guy with the beard. on the other wheat i two things. This one i actually have a picture of. um The kid who's going to be playing so Link in The Legend of Zelda showed up in this season. He's Darian.
00:07:19
Speaker
Benjamin Ainsworth. He plays Darian Targaryen. The other thing is we see... i need your I just need your input of who this guy is. We see this battle like encampment.
00:07:30
Speaker
And we see this guy coming out of a tent. Who is that? This guy who's running this army in a tent compound. Who is that guy coming out of tent? He is...
00:07:42
Speaker
He's one of the Lost Brothers. believe he's... I think he's a Hightower. Okay. I think he's, uh, what's her name? Um, Alison's brother.
00:07:52
Speaker
Okay. Okay. I think, yeah I can't guarantee it. Um, cause they really, that's the issue with this show is like in the original show, like you fell in love with all the characters in the first season in this show. You like, like four of them and everyone else is just kind of there to die essentially or like whatever. Like you don't really care too much about a lot of the characters in the show. yeah Um, yeah.
00:08:14
Speaker
But yeah, believe that's... Is it Gerald Hightower? I can't remember his first name, but yeah. Yeah, I don't even know his name. I just know he showed up. He's very brooding, very menacing, and I know he'll have implications probably going forward. I just don't know who he is. So I was wondering who he was. But yeah, airs every Sunday. We'll talk about the the season throughout the summer. So far, so good.
00:08:35
Speaker
want to bring up a few movies before we get into news.

Movie Reviews and Comparisons

00:08:38
Speaker
First one is I Saw Power Ballad with Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. Fantastic fucking movie.
00:08:46
Speaker
um Reminds me of The Wedding Singer, but it's ah it's very good. um Both of them are great. The ending is amazing. um At first, I didn't think it was going to be, but the last five minutes of this movie is pretty fucking awesome. nice Four and a half out of five for me. A little bit of comedy, a little bit of drama. Paul Rudd is awesome in anything. He's pretty good in this, too. so Worth watching. And last night, i watched, it came out on Prime yesterday, watched Sheep Detective.
00:09:16
Speaker
um This is was out, I think Mother's Day it came out, so it's obviously Hugh Jackman. Lots of British people from, you've seen in Game of Thrones, you've seen in Doctor Who. The guy on the right on the poster there, that's the new He-Man. He-Man is a prime movie, so I'm not surprised he's in this movie. But all the sheep are voiced. It reminds me of Babe.
00:09:36
Speaker
When we talked about it, it reminds me of Babe meets Knives Out. That's basically what it is for kids, though. So kids can watch it, follow along into a murder mystery, find out who killed Hugh Jackman's character, who was a sheep herder, and all the sheep's... um are befriended to him because he raises them um and the the one sheep with the magnifying glass in her mouth lily i think her name is um she is very close to him and she tries to solve the murder and tries to give information to the humans who can't understand her so
00:10:08
Speaker
Overall, 4 out of 5, great movie. Lots of action, lots of lots of drama, lots a little bit of comedy. um British humor, too. It's very, very good. This is on Prime for free if you have Amazon Prime or if you're a subscriber. but Very, very good.
00:10:24
Speaker
um And at the end, we have

Anticipated Movies and Series

00:10:27
Speaker
not seen it yet. So this is like a time travel. We're going to see it later after the show, and we're going to record a reaction after. But we're going to be watching Supergirl tonight, and reviews are not that great. However, I'm not too worried. Haven't been too worried ever since I knew pretty much when the first trailer came out, I knew this was going to happen. um James Gunn has said that the script has to be good in order to approve these movies. Um, even saying that I'm not too worried about this movie just because of everything that they're praising about this movie is everything I care about.
00:11:00
Speaker
Um, right with Kara, with Lobo, with Ruthie, all the acting is great. It's just the story wise. Um, they didn't stick too much to the comic. There's little elements of the comic in there. Um, but they, they, the story was weak is weak is what they're saying. So, um, Follow along at the end of this episode.
00:11:19
Speaker
um And we'll actually probably post it live later as well, a reaction to Supergirl, really quick one. Because we're going put too many notes together. But, um yeah, cannot wait. I'm actually excited still even after hearing all the negativity. It's about 55, 57 on Rotten Tomatoes. I haven't checked it today. yeah That's what it was last night. It doesn't bother me.
00:11:42
Speaker
I mean, Michael was very low, and Michael was an awesome movie. so critics Critics, I think, are on a war path for comic book movies to begin with, so I'm taking a lot of that with a grain of salt.
00:11:54
Speaker
But there are a lot of my personal review people that I follow that are kind of like, yeah, it's mid. we'll have wait and see. We'll talk about it later. But until then, let's get into... don't even have my music ready. Let's get into the news.
00:12:19
Speaker
And it's not new segment without the trailer. Roundup.
00:12:25
Speaker
I've got a brand new trailer for X-Men 97 Season 2, which comes out next week. um first I think first three episodes, that maybe two or three episodes. Yes, first three. yep Yeah, there it is. So I cannot wait for that. I love the first season. Of course, I love the original from the 90s. So I cannot wait to see the continuation of that. It's one of the animated, between that and the Spider-Man series that aired a couple of years ago.
00:12:47
Speaker
These are my two favorite things that came out of the animation studios from Marvel so far. um what i loved I liked What If, wasn't in love with it, but this this and Spider-Man I really did like. so I cannot wait. We'll talk about that next week, hopefully.
00:13:03
Speaker
Also... We got a brand new trailer for Batman Nightfall, the trilogy. First part, I believe. I don't know when the first part comes out. I guess I didn't have the picture of that here. I think they just say fall.
00:13:16
Speaker
Fall? Okay. Maybe I did. I think I mean mixed it up. um
00:13:23
Speaker
There it is. We also got the voice actors. um knight for Who's going to be playing Batman? Anson Mount. Of course, he was in... ah in humans for marvel um he's also in the new star trek show that's on paramount uh michael mando is playing bane who i fucking love he's gonna be in new spider-man playing scorpion of course he was in breaking uh better call solid breaking bad um david miss desmaltion playing the riddler i think he was born for that and pa shreiber pablo pablo schreiber was master chief in the halo series which i loved He's going to be playing Asriel.
00:14:02
Speaker
If you know this story, this is the comic where Batman and gets his back broken by Bane. And, of course, that was done in The Dark Knight Rises. um It was kind of after this comic came out, Batman and Robin came out and Bane showed up in that, kind of in a shitty version of that. But ah this is an animated three-part movie sit telling that story from the mid-'90s comic, um and I believe it' the first part comes out July. I wish I had the date on there. July something, I think. but Oh, it does? Okay.
00:14:34
Speaker
I think so, yeah. I think it comes out this summer. um But, yeah, I cannot wait for that. It's one of those comic books when I was a kid. I went in the store. I saw the comic. I believe it was 500, Batman 500, with ah the cover that you flip. It's got Batman on one side and Asriel on the other. um I love that comic, and I picked it up, of course, back then. Yeah.
00:14:54
Speaker
Cannot wait to see this show. Let's see what else I have here. I think this may be Batman Cave Crusader. Batman Cave Crusader. Coming out on July 29th. We got the brand new trailer for the second season on Prime. i Love the first season. This is, of course, done by Paul Dini, who did the animated series. Is it Paul Dini? Is his name?
00:15:16
Speaker
I think so. Yep. and And did the animated series from the ninety s This is ah not a continuation of that. It's a retelling of Batman's story in a noir setting, but more even more noir than that. um Very much the aesthetic and everything is very noir. But this is on Prime. Second season coming out. I believe all of the episodes are dropping it once again. That happened the first season as well. But we do see a few of the new villains that are going part of that, including the Joker, a brand new noir-style Joker based off the Man Who Laughs kind of looking like that from the or from the nineteen thirty s which was the basis of the original Joker begin with. Cannot wait for that.
00:15:54
Speaker
um That's where that came from, a brand new movie called Hex. This is a Disney Pixar movie done by the people who brought you Frozen and Zootopia. And it's going to have a little bit of magic, a little bit of humor. Of course, if you know those type of movies, you pretty much know what you're going to get. It comes out November 25th. I thought it looked interesting. I may watch that. ah um And Taika Waititi has a new movie coming out. ah It's called Clara and the Sun starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams where she plays, Jenna Ortega plays a robot who gets bought by a family to help them heal physically and mentally in a dystopian future. Comes out October 23rd. Looked interesting. And they buy her and they threaten to turn her into scrap and everything. So if she becomes too much of a human. So yeah, I'll watch it. I like Tycho, some of his stuff. So I'll definitely watch that.
00:16:49
Speaker
um and The Dink, starring Jake Johnson, who i loved in New Girl. I loved him in a few other movies, a few things he's been in. Mary Steenburger, Ben Stiller's in this, Ed Harris reminds me a lot of, but since Ben Stiller's in it, reminds me a lot of Dodgeball, kind of mixed with Pickleball. Yeah, so I don't know.
00:17:10
Speaker
It's on Apple TV. It's going to be free to watch, so I probably will watch that. comes out July 24th. um This I'm not sure about. It's called The Hawk. Starring Will Ferrell. It's a hockey movie.
00:17:23
Speaker
i'm Not a hockey movie. A golf movie. But it's like all the other Will Ferrell weird sports movies he did about 20 years ago. did a basketball one. Of course he did Talladega Nights. Reminds me of Talladega Nights and Happy Gilmore. It looks like a Happy Gilmore ripoff right down to the DNA of this. but Comes out on Netflix July 16th. I may hate watch it.
00:17:46
Speaker
I'm not sure. But I didn't want to bring up the trailer that came out today. a Brand new trailer for ah Stewart Fails to Save the Universe a Big Bang Theory spinoff series. More of a dramatic slash comedic look of that world after Big Bang Theory with all the kind of sub-characters of that show that weren't the main stars. And he must restore reality after he breaks... Sheldon and Leonard's new device that causes multiversal Armageddon.
00:18:14
Speaker
first First episode of comes out July 23rd. I'm not sure if the whole whole series airs, but Trill looks good. Doesn't look like a Big Bang Theory episode or anything, and I like pretty much all those guys that are in that show. so I'm not sure getting any cameos from the big big four from that show, or big five.
00:18:32
Speaker
But yeah, it comes out July 23rd on HBO Max. so Watch that. Got a brand new trailer for Shrek 5. Comes out, I believe, a year from now. um Of course, Nadia joining the cast is the daughter of Shrek and Fiona. i Probably in the next year, going to continue watching those movies. I know we watched the first one for the podcast. going try to watch the the next three because I don't remember much about the fourth one.
00:18:55
Speaker
And then when 5 comes out, we'll watch that. Some Shrek news today we'll talk about in the news. A brand new documentary coming out on Paramount Plus called The Real Wolf of Wall Street.
00:19:07
Speaker
uh scorsese did wolf of wall street about i guess a little bit over 10 years ago um and of course jordan belfort is the uh the key of that movie played by leonardo dicaprio was based off a real person um and he's always said that his life was more insane and actually crazier than what the movie depicted and the documentary is going to tackle all of that with a lot of uh firsthand accounts of what was going on behind the scenes back then. um But yeah, it's a documentary. I believe it's a movie. Oh, no, series. So yeah, huge ah July 14th, just a couple of weeks on Paramount Plus. So we'll probably talk about that.
00:19:45
Speaker
um And finally, before we get into news, Spider-Man. Spider-Man and trailer came out. The tickets came out on Tuesday. i remember what day it was. But ah yeah, tickets are on sale now. And we got some things to talk about.
00:20:03
Speaker
I got some brand new posters there for marking when the tickets went on sale. We got brand new theater exclusive posters here. We got some great art. There's some art there. There's one that reminds me so much of Alex Ross, the one on the right there.
00:20:18
Speaker
It reminds me so much of Alex Ross to the point where I think a few hours after I saw it, I was like, oh, that's Alex Ross started posting it because he's again that's my ah that's definitely my art style. I don't know if he did the the art or not, but it's awesome. um Overall, I'm very excited for this movie. We got some more posters here. Of of course, we get the first look of the Hulk in the trailer. and We also get the first look official look of Scorpion, Michael Mando, playing the Scorpion.
00:20:45
Speaker
um we got Easter eggs we talked about this trailer it leaked a couple of weeks ago we talked about it but we got some more Easter eggs to talk about Tramiel Tillman's character Tramiel Tillman if you've seen Severance um he's in that he's in he was in the last Mission Impossible movie he played the guy on the submarine That ah that helped Ethan Hunt. He's been in a few other things, but he's going to playing William Bill milton Meltzer. melt seeker meltzer um Who in the comic books has is the head of damage control, but most importantly, he's the leading force behind mutant apprehension in the comics. um which is another keystone to what we've been saying for a while. and What everybody's saying is Jean Grey is not only in this movie, but she's being hunted by damage crew control, which maybe eventually could turn into some sort of a mutant apprehension control or something, mutant control or something, who knows. um What the way to see on that? Doctor Strange, um his spell, and the mutant resurgence. Wong and Strange talk about in Way Home.
00:21:51
Speaker
Talk about forgetting the forgetting spell had been used before, um giving further precedence that mutants may have used that spell or a version of it to erase magically the known existence. Either Xavier could have done it or something could have happened. Maybe explains why mutants haven't been around or haven't been known in this universe. Who knows?
00:22:11
Speaker
Wanted to bring that up. um Swinging, falling into a wedding ceremony. There's a point where Spider-Man swinging through the city falls into a wedding ceremony that everybody says looks like the set of the movie, the drama, which is funny because Zendaya was in that movie. um But when he escapes that wedding ceremony, there's a helicopter that escapes. It says on the side, congrats, John and Lucy.
00:22:31
Speaker
um In the comics in the 94 animated series, John Jonah Jameson, who is the son of J. Jonah Jameson, was an astronaut. He went into space, but um and and also I think Spider-Man 2 or 3 gets married as well. The same thing happens. Spider-Man goes into the wedding. and and abruptly uh and abruptly gets in the middle of it and creates chaos but um speculation at the wedding may have been for john jameson we don't know if um jay jonah is in this or not but that would be funny a great connection if he is and that's his and that's his son considering that there is speculation that the symbiote could be a part of this um who knows but
00:23:13
Speaker
um ned's following the trail of peter we've known that from both trailers um ned's following the trail of peter he's using his mit intelligence to create spider-man's new tech um that has been pretty much proved in the marketing they came out with this new spider tracker thing um this this kind of thing where you can just track where spider-man promotion is going to be happening um and uh there's an app pretty much and uh And they pretty much confirmed that Ned creates that and he creates a spider tracking way for Peter to track things. There's a scene in this where Gene Gray's power is jumping from person to person and paint Peter through his helmet is able to track where Gene Gray is jumping or who this CD-Saint character is jumping from mind to mind using this new tech in his helmet, which is Ned tech in my opinion. But marketing already kind of proves it, but we'll wait and see when the movie comes out to actually get the, if that feeling that theory is true or not. um Banner's inhibitor. He's got this, Bruce Banner's got this inhibitor on his wrist that creates a balance for the Hulk, that so the Hulk doesn't come come out, he's just Bruce Banner. um Is this the first gen tech of the mutant suppression collars that are used for the X-Men? He's suppressing the Hulk. um The only time I've ever seen that happen in the comics and anything um was when the collars were worn in not only the 92 series, but i think they were used in the movies. ah dead ah daredev ah Deadpool de definitely did. Deadpool 2. Deadpool had that stopped his powers.
00:24:41
Speaker
um So is this the first kind of tech that creates that block of the mutant gene or a mutant gene or any mutation or or change at all. I'm wondering if that's kind of the beginning of that. Maybe the bad guys want that technology to stop the mutants. We'll see.
00:24:57
Speaker
There's a tall skyscraper that the Hulk and Spider-Man fall from. um There's also in the beginning the in the beginning of the first trailer, Spider-Man is on the top of a scaffolding. that of a building that looks like it's being built. It's the tallest city that's the tallest building in New York City.
00:25:12
Speaker
What is that building? Nobody knows what that building is. Speculation, could it be the new Oscorp, maybe Roxon?
00:25:21
Speaker
The leaked con, there's a leaked con. I don't remember what con it was. ah There's a scene, MJ says she was offered a job at a corporation but didn't want to sell her soul. Is that Roxon? Is it Oscorp?
00:25:32
Speaker
Who knows? um Gene, after reading Peter's thoughts, is he going to awake MJ's memory of who Peter Parker was? because he She threatens that she's going to go take a take a peek into MJ's mind. So, in the trailer.
00:25:47
Speaker
Who knows? um And the big thing about this, we see the Hulk at the end. We see Bruce Banner losing all control. We would see Sadie Sink's character. um Breaking the inhibitor and the Hulk comes out.
00:25:59
Speaker
Are we going to see the gray Hulk? And that's the big question. We know in the trailer we see a kind of a gray hu we see a green Hulk. It's kind of shadowy. We can't really tell. um Where did the gray Hulk come from? Gray Hulk was ah the original color that Stan Lee wanted for the Hulk.
00:26:16
Speaker
um It was a printing error that actually turned him green um in the first issue, and then the second issue, they said, fuck it, let's just keep him green. um Stanley original wanted him Hulk because they wanted him to have a similarity to Frankenstein, on the the original Frankenstein character. no No racial similarities, no nothing, just gray. um so And, of course, they used it again later in the 80s with Joe Fixit, which is a gray Hulk with a tuxedo. He's kind of a mobster-like character.

80s he returned in Todd McFarlane Spider-Man run early 90s at the end of the 80s early 90s they had a team up with Spider-Man Destin knows what he's doing in other words because that's right out of the comic book that's right out of the movie with the trailer that we've seen so far so he knows what he's doing he's he's bringing comic book covers to life for sure I'm not sure about the stories but um Man-Spider Is he a part of this movie? Who knows? There's a lot of similarities between him. and A lot of people are speculating it could be Venom. I don't think so. Not this soon. There's too much going on in this movie. um But Venom, Man-Spider, there's a lot of changing, a lot of mutating. He loses humanity from both ways. Once Peter gets a handout of his mutations, maybe with the help of the X-Men, my theory, um his human humanitarian humanity is questioned even further as the simian threatens Venom. to show up at the end of these this movie, maybe. That's been my theory for all along, either that or Secret Wars, that the once he gets the balance of the mutation, this movie shows him overcoming the physical transformation. Maybe the next movie will show him overcoming his mental, physical psychological transformation with the symbiont. But not without consequences, because the darkness is always there.
00:27:59
Speaker
um It just manifests differently, and when he actually loses the Venom symbiont, we know what happens. It becomes Venom. Attaches to whether whether it be Eddie Brock or whoever they decide to do. um I cannot wait. I know theyre but i know him and Zendaya both are playing the Spider-Man PS5 games. We're talking about it in the press. Doing promotion for this movie. So I know they're fans of it.
00:28:20
Speaker
um I know they must be fans of the Venom story. So he must be you must be chopping at the bit to do that story. Knowing the what what the acting prowess is going to be talking about. we We talked about before we tell him all of kind of playing the dual role. I think he's looking forward to that just by kind of looking at what he's what he's talking about in the press. but Um, my further speculation, first movie is going to deal with his physical transformation. We know that he's, he's mutating. Second movie is going to talk about his physiological, psychological, physiological, um, changing and mentally being taken over by a symbiote trying to overcome that.
00:28:56
Speaker
Third movie is going to talk about, I think his mortality and death. And the only reason I think that is because he's talking so much about leaving this character, which 10 years ago, he wasn't, he said he was going to this for the rest of his life. Now he's talking about passing the mantle to another person. Of course, Miles being one. He's talking about the kid from... Maybe I have it in here. He's talking about the kid from one of the things that just came out recently, Taken Over. I think it was one of the British shows that was on Netflix. I can't remember the name of it. Maybe I have it in here. but Is the third movie going to talk about his mortality?
00:29:29
Speaker
I mean, his death. Could it be at the hands of the Green Goblin? The Kingpin, which I would fucking love to see the Kingpin in this. Carnage, could that be a another part of the Venom saga? Could Carnage be in the second movie? A third movie, who knows? um That's kind of all the notes I have. We do have some brand new popcorn buckets coming out.
00:29:51
Speaker
There's a ton of them for some reason. this is the This is the thing for movie theaters. They don't make the money on the tickets, but they make all their money from this. We got Spider-Man. The combo, the one that's getting the most viral look at is you the the spider web with the spider webbing coming out of the wrist.
00:30:09
Speaker
And it's actually got a straw coming out of it. It looks very, very strange. But a lot of those are pretty cool. But those come out next month. um Brand New Day had the fourth biggest pre-sales of all time for any film. um A ah trailer slash commercial came out this week, confirmed another comic book cover um starring another villain named Ramrod, one of the B-villains, C-villains, not really known too much in the mainstream, but that's him there.
00:30:38
Speaker
um And Owen Cooper, that's who I was talking about. He was in the show, can't remember, was a Netflix show, but he thinks he's awesome. um He would obviously be super talented and ah be the next successor to, so kind of his idea, the next successor to Spider-Man if he ever left. And he reveals that one character in the MCU remembers Peter Parker's secret identity.
00:31:00
Speaker
Quote, no one remembers that Spider-Man is Peter Parker apart from one person. It's my speculation that it's going to be the Hulk. Also said that there are is a main villain that hasn't been revealed yet. It's still very much a secret. It's like anything we've seen in one of these movies before. um I'm not sure if he's talking about Tombstone.
00:31:19
Speaker
I'm not sure if he's talking about somebody that we we don't even know about. he said it hasn't even been revealed yet, so maybe... speculation hasn't even revealed it yet either. I don't know. But um Jackal, that would be the big one because Jackal has such a connection to the mutation that's going on in this movie. um He's also dealing with trying to figure out mutations. He actually turns himself into a Jackal. So I'm not sure if that'll happen in this or not.
00:31:42
Speaker
But that's the trailer. That's the movie. Tickets are on sale. We'll talk about it at the end of July. Cannot wait. Very excited. Yeah, cannot wait. Let's get into the rest of the news. Box office, the last two

Box Office Performances and Tributes

00:31:55
Speaker
weeks. Disclosure day opened two weeks ago, $44 million.
00:31:58
Speaker
Kind of low, but score Spielberg hasn't had a huge box office in a while. Obsession, for the fifth week, had $19 million. um Also, I think it was number three this week as well, $14 million. um So far, every single week since it's been out, except for this last week and the last two weeks, it has earned more money going from the week before. Obsession coming out on digital on Tuesday. So we will talk about it next week. It was supposed to out this week, but it's just doing so well in the theater, they're just continuing to keep it in the theater, which is great because it had and a short window and then started doing well. So I cannot wait to see it. We'll talk about it next week. Um...
00:32:40
Speaker
And a funny ah funny kind of trivia that I saw, Obsession beat Avengers Endgame domestically on its 25th day in theaters. um In other words, especially ah Obsession made $4.2 million domestically on the 25th day in the movies. um When Adventure had its 25th day in the movie, Endgame, it only made $3.2 million.
00:33:01
Speaker
thought that was kind of an interesting interesting trivia for this movie, and how how great it's doing in the box office right now. um Is this going to be... I don't know.
00:33:12
Speaker
It's definitely one of the biggest low-budget movies that's ever ever done current well in the theater. yeah so um And Michael, now officially the highest grossing biopic musical biopic of all time, surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody. um Not surprised by that. If they do a sequel, I think it's going to even surpass that. Yeah.
00:33:33
Speaker
talk about hey Talk about celebrity deaths. Rest in peace to Gene Shalit. At 100 years old, if you were around in the 90s, you remember that mustache, you remember him and all his puns. He was on the Today Show, I think, and he used to do movie reviews.
00:33:49
Speaker
He showed up on there talking about movies, and his puns were always a big thing back in the 90s, 80s, however long he's been around. but um He's been off TV for a little while now, I think 20 years or so. But he died this week. Rest in peace to film critic Gene Shalit.
00:34:03
Speaker
Rest in peace to Dave Chase. um You don't know the name, but you you know her from different things. The big thing she did at first was Lilo instead. She played Lilo. She did the animated voice for her, but she also played the little girl in The Ring, the U.S. version. The girl that comes out of the TV. She played her.
00:34:22
Speaker
um She got into drugs. She'd kind of fallen out. I think she became homeless. If not homeless, she became definitely down and out, and drugs had taken a toll on her, and she died very young, 26, 40, 36 years old. um Complications, I think, of just being on the streets and being... being mount malnourished and everything. So rest in peace to her. Hollywood taking a toll on another young actor, unfortunately.
00:34:50
Speaker
um Rest in peace to Anne Shadeen. You don't know the name, but if you watched Elf in the 80s, she played Kate Tanner, the mother of the matriarch of the family on Elf. And that's her right there with the puppet Elf. She was 77 years old. She died peacefully. and yeah Rest in peace to her. And rest in peace to James Burroughs, a Hollywood heavyweight. If you ever watched a sitcom in the 80s, 90s, 2000s. You always saw his name, usually at the end of the credits. He directed over 1,000 episodes. He created... he created i think it was Cheers he co-created. um
00:35:30
Speaker
But he directed so many other episodes. He was kind of one of those guys where if you had a brand new show airing and you wanted it to do well, you would hire him to direct it. and Chances are um the percentage of his successes... that actually aired and turned into a full series um was astounding. um And a lot of his shows, including Friends, Cheers, I think I have a list here, Friends, Cheers, Taxi, Frasier, Will & Grace. He started on Mary Tyler Moore's show. He did some episodes of Third Rock from the Sun. He's been everywhere. um He did the, when Jimmy Kimmel did the the retelling of the 80s, All in the Family a couple of years ago, he directed those. That was one of his last projects he did. So rest in peace to him.
00:36:16
Speaker
And let's

Industry Moves and Acquisitions

00:36:17
Speaker
get into the news. The Justice Department approved Paramount's Warner Brothers acquisition. We talked about that at the end of last episode. I'm going to bring it up again how crazy that is. And I heard some other European regulators have also approved it as well. So um there's a lot of lawsuits happening at the state level that are going to try to stop this. So it's not over, not even close to being over. um And stood it could still kill it or could it it could at least slow it down. So it can take a couple years to pass through. when you have Trump in your pocket, you're in Trump's pocket, it's going to be a lot easier than a lot of other scenarios. So we'll have keep an eye on that still. And we will.
00:36:59
Speaker
um Speaking of that, um the Fox has officially announced that it will be acquiring Roku. In $22 billion dollar sale, I didn't think Roku was worth that much. um But yeah, they're going to be they're going to be combining into one. They're going to be using the streaming platform.
00:37:18
Speaker
Fox, of course, was part of Disney. and they Before they bought 20th Century Fox, they split off into their own. All their TV stations, their sports, their entertainment, all that was spin-off into its own company. They're the ones that bought Roku.
00:37:35
Speaker
I don't have a Roku. I think you do. I don't have a Roku. I use Apple TV strictly. um But yeah, we'll have to wait and see. um Pizza Hut was for years, all of our life has been owned by the parent company of Pepsi, PepsiCo, Yum Brands, I think.
00:37:52
Speaker
Well, Pizza Hut, of course, in the last 20 years has gone down. our best How is this worth this much money? For $2.7 billion, dollars they were actually bought by a โ€“ what do you call those firms? Whatever those firms are called that buy up all this type of failing businesses. um They actually bought them from the Yum brand, so they're couldnna be part of Pepsi anymore.
00:38:15
Speaker
um I'm sure they're to still have deals with it. Pizza Hut has the best soda because they are a Pepsi-branded restaurant. Same with KFC, same with Taco Bell. but there But because Taco Bell KFC are still doing well, Pizza Hut is doing the worst. They decided to sell them off. So this brand new these brand-new firms have come in and bought Pizza Hut. And going to try to bring back the legacy of Pizza bring back to what we remember from the 90s. Of course, the big red roofs, the red cups, the nostalgia of the 90s. We always talk about it on here, how we love that. So they're going to want to try to bring that back to the consumer to reinvigorate the Pizza Hut brand. Watch the wait and see.
00:38:54
Speaker
See on that. But yeah, they've but they've been sold. um And let's get into some TV shows and stuff that's going to be airing this year.

TV Show Updates and Cancellations

00:39:02
Speaker
Starting on July 21st, we've got the brand new poster, brand new idea what's going to be happening on Season 3 of WWE Unreal.
00:39:10
Speaker
WWE Unreal tells the behind-the-scenes stories of how how creative is working in WWE right now. And Season 3 is all about the reign of John Cena in the last year and and everything about his retirement. The behind the scenes of that and and how and how decisions were made for his heel turn, and decisions were made to bring him back as a face in this decision to retire at the end of the year. All that's going to be behind the scenes this whole season.
00:39:36
Speaker
I'm also talking about brand new next generation of WWE superstars. And I think they're going to talk about Brock Lesnar's return. So yeah, cannot wait for that. Comes out July 21st on Netflix. First two seasons are on there. I recommend watching those. Kind of WWE's answer to Dark Side of the Ring, going behind the scenes, with a behind the kayfabe and everything. Ghostbusters Night Shift
00:40:03
Speaker
um brand new animated series coming from the ghostbusters universe we talked about it last week and we got some brand new first look pictures that came out this week called ghostbusters night shift i Set in New York City in 1994. All the original Ghostbusters have retired and there's new recruits um that are going to be walking the streets of New York City um and find out what happens to ghosts coming back in the Big Apple. Animated series on Netflix.
00:40:31
Speaker
Animation looks interesting. I'll keep an eye on that. And The Burroughs. I've been hearing about this show. was planning on watching it, but it was canceled by Netflix after one season. Netflix is known for that. The Burroughs, Alfred Molina, there's a bunch of people in that show. But it's done by the but Duffer Brothers. It's like an older version of Stranger Things, and I think that's kind of what what the audience was distancing themselves from. i think maybe Either they were just they were Stranger Things out, or they just didn't want to watch it older a bunch of old people trying to move around like they were in Stranger Things. I don't know. But ah I guess the ratings weren't good enough for Netflix to keep them on, so they did cancel it after one season. They heard great things about the first season, so it's kind of too bad.
00:41:13
Speaker
um Joining the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 6, a whole bunch of British actors, um including David Tennant, including Jodie Whittaker. So we've got two doctors on there. Jim Broadbent, um Nicola Coughlin, they' Kathleen Hunter. There's a lot of British actors coming on. They're going to be in London. Cannot wait. I love Only only better Murders. I'll talk about that. Probably the end of the summer that usually comes out. in the spring, so we'll see. Joining the cast of Twisted Metal Season 3, I stopped watching right in the beginning of Season 1, but Mark Hamill joined the cast of the peacquock Peacock series based on the video game, playing Sweet Tooth's father. Sweet Tooth is played by Samoa Joe, voiced by a guy from SNL there. um So yeah, Mark Hamill joining the cast. Peacock and unveiled some new images today of The Paper Season 2. Coming out on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026. So coming in just a couple months. But some for first look, I like the first season. Of course, I love The Office's spin-off that. so
00:42:19
Speaker
We'll talk about that. um And one thing we haven't talked about this episode yet is the Knicks victory while we were away. They won the and NBA championship last week. um And Ben Stiller was all over the... oh all over the um front row filming scenes for this new documentary for a24 and hbo a multi-part nicks documentary following their entire history up until the and nba championship he's filmed it all on his cell phone while he was there at the end of the season um kind of getting their comeback and everything ben stiller directed it he's going to be in charge of the documentary and everything so
00:42:59
Speaker
I'm very excited for that because i think I think I was surprised how the whole United States kind of jumped on the Knicks bandwagon. Yeah. it's funny It's funny how that happened. I don't know if it's just the story that it was telling or what it was, but it seemed like everybody wanted the Knicks to win that.
00:43:14
Speaker
um So, yeah, I didn't watch, except for the one of the game and the one game I watched, I didn't even watch the finals. They're on way too late. But, ah yeah, that's going happen. Timothy Chalamet has a brand new movie coming from Illumination, a brand new animated movie with Selena Gomez called Not Alone. Something about aliens and something. I have no idea. It comes out April of next year.
00:43:36
Speaker
Interesting. ah A brand new Thundercats movie in the work at Warner Brothers Animation. They saw what happened with He-Man and decided, hey, let's do a a Thundercats. I remember Thundercats more than I do He-Man when I was a kid. I actually had some figures. I had the purple guy. action figure. But Thundercats coming out in a movie sometime soon.
00:43:55
Speaker
Interesting. um I thought this was funny. First part of iconic ah TV characters coming out on Thundercats. TV characters coming out in commercials. First one is Bob Odenkirt returning as Saul Goodman in a new video celebrating 250 years of America.
00:44:12
Speaker
um At the very end, Mike comes out and says hi Mike and I approve this message. so yeah Great to see those characters back on the screen. um And speaking of characters coming back on the screen, Mike Myers for a Verizon commercial reprised not only Dr. Evil, but everybody um that was in his roundtable, including Seth Green as Scott, Rob Lowe as number two, and Mindy Sterling as Frau Farbishina, all came back talking about brand new Sprint technology or something. who knows
00:44:43
Speaker
But, ah yeah. And also, when this came out, somebody asked him... Austin Powers happening. Austin Powers 4 happening. He said, quick answer, yes. No other, nothing else. But he's been talking about that for years. Still hasn't happened.
00:44:58
Speaker
I don't know if he has a story figured out or what, but I love Austin Powers, the first two. The third one was okay. I'm interested to see how Austin Powers would be in this type of environment. It kind of be interesting because when he came back from the 60s to come back in the it's been 30 years since the last movie. It's almost 25 years at least.
00:45:21
Speaker
interesting to see him come back 30 years later and see the world now after COVID and then during the Trump administration and everything, see how he reacts to that. but um Evil Dead Wrath. Are you caught up on all the Evil Dead, the new ones, the Evil Dead movies? Yes.
00:45:35
Speaker
Yep. Brand new movie coming out called Evil Dead Wrath.

Upcoming Movies and Announcements

00:45:39
Speaker
It's going to take place in 1972, a decade before the original film. um It'll look grainy and film stock from that same era, from the 70s. I don't know much more about that cause I'm not huge into Evil Dead. I haven't watched the new ones at all. so yeah um A sequel to What We Do in the Shadows, the movie. Another movie is going to be in the works. um I like the movie. I never watched the series. I hear the series is even better.
00:46:05
Speaker
But I like the movie. They're going to be doing a sequel. The sequel is based off of werewolves. called Werewolves. Jermaine Clement, who starred in that, created that. Tekka Waititi created that, has directed that. Group of werewolves led by race Darby, who served as the antagonist of the original film. um Okay, cool.
00:46:27
Speaker
um And I think trailer comes out July 13th. You've got brand new posters for Tom Cruise in this movie called Digger. Don't know anything about what this is. I know it's some post-apocalyptic movie. Nope.
00:46:42
Speaker
Other than that, stars Tom Cruise. He's promoting it like crazy. he's It's supposedly a comedy. Tom Cruise hasn't done a comedy in a while. So very, very interesting. Comes out October 2nd of this year. Comic-Con is going to be a big, huge part of this promotion train. So first trailer drops on July 13th. We'll keep an eye on that.
00:47:04
Speaker
And after 20 years, somebody asks, are we there yet? Um, are we there, are we done yet? Um, no. Are we gone yet?
00:47:16
Speaker
Ice Cube, Neil Long are coming back for a third movie in the Are We yet are we There Yet trilogy, which I don' have a picture of. Um, for some reason they thought, hey, this seems like a good idea, it seems like a bad idea to me, so I don't know.
00:47:30
Speaker
Um... Ice Cube, I like him. Of course, Friday movies, I like him in those. 21 Jump Street, like him in those. Are We There Yet were some of the worst movies he's done.
00:47:43
Speaker
I never saw them. Yeah, kids movies. But yeah, I don't get it. Why he would do a third one this late after. i mean, the last one came out in 2027, so you're talking 20 years later.
00:47:54
Speaker
No idea why this is a choice, but it's a choice. So, yeah, interesting.
00:48:13
Speaker
right there it's based off a comic book on the left called friday the thirteenth so yeah interesting And announced today, speaking of Shrek earlier, there's going to be a spinoff officially announced called Donkey.
00:48:27
Speaker
Coming out on June 30th, 2028 from DreamWorks. A. Murphy reprising his role as Donkey. He's going to be telling his origin story and how Donkey became Donkey. So that was announced today.
00:48:42
Speaker
And we got brand new Empire covers, the magazine Empire of the Odyssey promotion in full swing. Movie comes out in less than a month, I think. Well, yeah, less than a month. So Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway on the cover. It's got brand new subscriber exclusive there of the of the ship and the ocean. Very interesting. Cannot wait, actually, cannot wait to watch Troy.
00:49:06
Speaker
I'm going to probably watch that a couple weeks, but I know Troy is kind of the, the end of Troy is where this movie begins. um It's the story after Odysseus leaves the Battle of Troy and goes back home, and it's a journey, I think a 10-year journey back home, um and all the stuff and all the battles that happen in between, and how his family is kind of corrupted in between that time, um and his son played by Tom Holland. That's all I didn' pretty much know about it. um But cannot wait. Love Nolan.
00:49:33
Speaker
Love all the actors in this movie. So cannot wait. um mike Speaking of Nolan, Michael Caine, who's in a lot of mo Nolan movies, is going doing the voice to appear in upcoming audiobook adaptation of The Odyssey. But he's in his 90s. He's given the okay to use his voice used by an AI company, Eleven Labs. He's inked the deal. coming I'm not sure when this is coming out, but they're going using his likeness in AI. to create the audiobook rather than him actually recording it. So, very interesting.
00:50:05
Speaker
Jim Carrey, this is crazy news, Jim Carrey in talks to return as the Grinch in a new Grinch movie, a sequel to the original that was done in 2001. um i was never a huge fan of that movie, the live-action one. I love the original animated. It's fine, but it's not on my Christmas list to watch. um But Jim Carrey, kind of out of Hollywood. He hasn't done a movie in a while besides the Sonic movies. He hasn't done an actual drama or comedy or anything. But ron ha Ron Howard's coming back to direct the sequel.
00:50:39
Speaker
So, yeah, interesting. um Also, speaking of 90s nostalgia, Miss Frizzle, Magic School Bus, watch that on PBS all the time. A live-action movie starring Elizabeth Banks as Miss Frizzle is going to be coming out with the director of Detective Pikachu in charge of directing it.
00:50:59
Speaker
Interesting. I don't know if that would be my choice for Miss Frizzle. i mean There's a lot of other actresses would do better jobs. but Right. Whatever. If they have a vision, we'll wait to see them. Sure, it'll be okay for kids. Brand new look ah for came out today for the Robert Eggers movie Werewolf starring ari Aaron Taylor Johnson. This is him going through the woods with a whole bunch of wolves. Comes out on Christmas Day of this year. So, yeah, interesting.
00:51:24
Speaker
um And joining the cast of The Hunt for Gollum, the new Lord of the Rings movie coming out in 2027 in December, um Anna Taylor-Joy, this brand new motion poster came out of that. and her character, playing an elf.
00:51:36
Speaker
Kind of looks like an elf, so perfect casting in my opinion. But coming out that day as well in 2027, you got Avengers Secret Wars, the Housemaid sequel with Cindy Sweeney, and Lord of the Rings The Hunt for Gollum, so a triple threat. Avengers is probably going to take the box office, but a Lord of the Rings, depending on how that movie turns out, if it looks great, that could also get a great huge box up box office blun but box office bump for December of keep an eye on that.
00:52:07
Speaker
I was wondering who they were going to cast as Peeves. Peeves is a character that was not in the Harry Potter movies. He's a poltergeist that lives in Hogwarts. We see some other ghosts in Hogwarts. But Peeves was always the mischievous one that we never saw in the movies. Christopher, Chris Columbus did not want to put him in the original Sorcerer's Stone Chamber of Secrets. So he's been admitted from the whole series.
00:52:31
Speaker
But they are going to put him in the TV series when they do the first season in December. And Peter Serafinowicz, who has been in everything, he was the voice of Darth Maul, he was in Guardians of the Galaxy, um he's going to doing the voice, and i'm I'm not sure he's doing the live action or if it's animated or what it is, but he's going to be doing Peeves, the poltergeist from the harry potter book Harry Potter books in the live series.
00:52:54
Speaker
Interesting casting. i actually like him, so i'm i'm interested to see how this turns out. so um He voiced Darth Maul. He's doing interviews. Talking about doing the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars The Phantom Menace was the biggest disappointment of his life. I have a feeling what he was talking about. This is pretty much saying that um he was told by George Lucas that he was going be the next James Earl Jones. But he only had one line in The Phantom Menace, maybe two lines in the whole movie. um And it was disappointing because the role was, of course, done by Ray Park, but he was the voice of it. But he didn't really get the recognition after that. Kind of had to fight his way through Hollywood without that on on his resume, although he really cared about that. because it wast in fact It wasn't it that much. but
00:53:40
Speaker
Speaking of George Lucas, speaking of Star Wars, George Lucas... has been cast in the Minions and Monsters in a voice role. He loves the original franchise, loves the franchise of the Minions in Despicable of Me, and he wants to be and wanted to be a part of it and and has ah has a role in future films as well.
00:54:02
Speaker
That's the craziest news story of the whole week. But yeah, George Lucas could be part of the Minions movie, so interesting. Speaking of Star Wars, Anne McDermott, who played Palpatine, says that George Lucas was developing a live-action Palpatine series. He actually confirmed it. It would have followed the empire Emperor's progress like Hitler's and his rise to power.
00:54:22
Speaker
um The idea was scrapped after he sold the Star Wars rights to Disney. That would have been interesting to tell that story. so It's weird. That was a weird time for Star Wars. We thought Star Wars was pretty much dead at that point. and It wasn't George Lucas' his eyes. He was ready to sell it. so A new report recently came out in the Hollywood filings revealed that Jurassic World Dominion has officially passed Star Wars The Force Awakens as the most expensive most expensive movie ever made. Jurassic World Dominion cost $658 million. dollars Crazy. Force Awakens costs $638 million, so it's over past that by $20 million.
00:55:00
Speaker
That much money for a movie is fucking ridiculous, especially Dominion. It was was a piece of trash. It was so bad. Grand Theft Auto VI.

00:57:15
Speaker
Love his story. Love how he creates his music. there's He's a very unique artist where he doesn't write on paper at all. He just does it off the top of his head. Up until the Black album, he did write that out. But yeah, interesting.
00:57:28
Speaker

Give me a strap or a rope, and I will make you this. I will make you this, and I will buy you all the records for half the price. No, less than half the price.

01:00:43
Speaker
Um, choice. I know Marvel and Disney are owned by the same, uh, they're all, they're all owned by them, so Disney. Um, And the X-Men reboot will take huge, bold, huge swings. Kevin Feige just wants to take big swing and start anew, not be to beholden any of the movies that have come before.
01:01:04
Speaker
um Kind of figure that Kevin Feige maybe diving deeper into what happened in the 90s too with the animated series, kind of that iconic look. But yeah I don't know. I don't know where that's going to be.
01:01:15
Speaker

01:01:59
Speaker
There's rumors of that. There's also supposed to be a a multiverse spinoff that never happened, but we did get some pictures of that this week. these They started going around, and you can see in there, you see Spider-Gwen, you can see Silk, you can see so Peter Parker and Miles, of course. You can see some multiversal villains coming back from the first movie. you see Scarlet Spider there. You see Venom.
01:02:22
Speaker
And there you see some portals opened up from the multiverse. um You see this big huge monster slash Sandman creature in there too. Interesting this movie, this game never happened. I know there's supposed to be a Venom spinoff that never happened as well. I don't know why.
01:02:34
Speaker
I don't know why that never happened. But ah I like those games. I really like them. So I don't know. um And Brand New Day is officially going panel at San Diego Comic Con one week before the movie premieres. Probably going to be their big premiere of the movie, I would guess. I'm guessing guessing they're probably going to screen it there.
01:02:52
Speaker
Who knows? But um just having a presence at Comic Con is exciting. Cannot wait for that. Official title for Avengers Endgame, the theatrical re-release that's happening at the end of the year will be Avengers Endgame Encore. um It's going to re-release the film. it's gonna It's going to include previously unseen footage and a new end tag exclusive to theaters that are certified participants of the Infinity Vision Initiative. More information on that as well. that are think there were 7,500 screens that have applied for this Infinity Vision the that Disney is promoting heavily. for big format screens.
01:03:30
Speaker
I'm not sure who is, i don't know if it's IMAX, i don't know if it's RPX or what it is, but there's a lot of screens that are have applied for it. They're trying to get approved by the end of the year. So when infined Infinity War and Endgame and the new the new Doomsday comes out, when that comes out in Infinity Vision, they want to they want to promote that they want to promote that format. So trying to get approved by the end of the year.
01:03:53
Speaker
Get into the DC news of the week. got the brand new first look, first shot of The Batman Part 2. Matt Reeves started filming last week, a week and a half ago. um And that's him taking pictures on We've got a brand new look of the official logo of the movie there on the bottom left. And we've got a brand new look at the mustache of Jeffrey Wright as James Corden that he posted on Instagram. So... i Very excited. Not a huge fan of the first movie. I love the Penguin, but um excited to see what he does. i'm a I'm a fan of him as a director, so I'm excited to see how how he how he turns that that franchise. It's been a while. have How he turns that franchise into brand new movie.
01:04:34
Speaker
um Aaron Paul reportedly joined the cast of Clayface. I haven't seen that anywhere besides a couple places online. But, ah yeah, interesting. I like Aaron Paul, so we'll see.
01:04:46
Speaker
um James Gunn talked about the Gorilla Grodd show. um Is Jimmy Olsen in it? Please share with us. Somebody asked him on on threads. um He said it's both a Jimmy Olsen and a Gorilla Grodd show.
01:05:00
Speaker
It's one of his favorite projects, and they start filming that soon. so Yeah, it's probably a Daily Planet slash Jimmy Olsen slash Gorilla Grodd. Interesting. wonder who's going play Gorilla Gronk. That's the question of the day.
01:05:15
Speaker
And a brand new brand new plot details on the animated dynamic duo movie. The puppet animated movie. The story follows Jason Todd and Dick Grayson as street rats who name themselves the dynamic duo. The duo is split up as jit Dick joins Batman while Jason joins the Red Hood gang.
01:05:32
Speaker
That's all we really know about that so far. I'm not even sure when that comes out. i'm I don't know if has a date or what, but um And the premiere for Supergirl happened just a couple of days ago. James Gunn's on the red carpet. Talked about how Supergirl has a big role in Man of Tomorrow. Millie's got a big role in that one. I feel sorry for her because she's flying around the world for Supergirl Press. Coming to set, shooting with me, coming back, and having do to do more press. So, yeah, she's busy doing this movie, doing this Man of Tomorrow.
01:06:00
Speaker
Very exciting for her. David ellis Edelson has met with James Gunn and Peter Saffron ahead of the Warner Brothers Paramount merger. said he's pretty open They said he's pretty open to what we're doing. He's a big fan. He's been great with us. where he's giving us him He's giving us kind of what we want. um Yeah, have to wait and see on that when that deal actually passes, and and doesn't how that actually goes into fruition, but um And today they were doing an animation festival somewhere. I'm not sure, is it France? i'm Not sure where they And they announced new details on a bunch of animated shows and announced some new ones. First we'll talk about Creature Commando Season 2. They showed a first look image of the new team. Joining the team is King Shart, Nosferata, Kallus, don't know who that is. Do you know who that is? I don't know who that is. G.I. Robot is going to have a really strong emotional character arc this season. Nosferatu's final design and is is expired by the pop artist Charlie XCX. The Bride is now leading the team.
01:07:08
Speaker
Nosferatu's relationship with the Bride is contentious contentious and the opposite of a relationship she had with Nina. Um, and we got some brand new details on the adventures with Green Lantern. Uh, showed us set in l L.A. Um, at a hal in place called Hal Jordan Memorial High. Uh, characters like Kyle Rayner, Alex DeWitt, Nikki Jones, Thomas Rowe will all be an important part of her high school life. Jessica is the main character, Jessica Cruz. Uh, she trains in the temple to understand what it means to be a Green Lantern. Jessica jessica Cruz has to sing the oath to transform.
01:07:44
Speaker
Um, The only character that has been confirmed, to the voice character of this, is the character who who did the voice of Moana in the animated series. and She's doing the voice of Jessica Cruz.
01:07:57
Speaker
um And the show will also apparently shows red and yellow lanterns. so Other than that, don't know anything else about it. Don't even know really what it is. so My Adventures with Green Lantern. um And a new Starfire animated series. Starfire leads a team of alien girls which consists of Crush, Fern, Amethyst, and the Vega Galaxy. um The short clip Starfire versus Blackfire was shown. Lobo, Gotham City, and the Tanagarians will be all making an appearance. appearance um So yeah. ah
01:08:31
Speaker
Featured... Large title cards be featured to display new location creatures and characters similar to the Suicide Squad. um It's been described as an 11-minute kids show, so probably not for us. um But this is probably going to be for us. New details for the Mr. Miracle series were revealed at this festival today.
01:08:50
Speaker
They showed brand new concept art of Scott Free, Mr. Miracle, Big Barda, Orion, Highfather, Granny Goodness, and Darkseid. Actors for this series have all been cast. And they're going to be portraying their characters in live action as well. So that's interesting that Darkseid, of course, we know, big big, huge part of the DC universe. Interesting to see who's going be doing the voice for that character. He's going doing it in live action as well.
01:09:16
Speaker
Um, animation closely resembles the comics art style, nearly one-to-one. Um, and Tom King describes Scott Frey as a son of God raised by the devil. And it's gonna be set in the DCU, so this is part of the DCU James Gunn's universe he created with Superman, Man of Tomorrow, Supergirl, so. Interesting.
01:09:35
Speaker
And they're gonna be jumping into live action. Exciting. But the big news today was these brand new animated series coming up. Uh, first one we'll talk about is Joker Anime. It's an anime series in the works. Series follows the Joker. as he launches a ruthless crusade through Gotham's underworld to discover Batman's killer.
01:09:51
Speaker
Done by the guys who did War the Rohan, the animated anime Lord of the Rings film that came out last year. But this is going to be a Joker series. The next thing we're going talk about is Crypto.
01:10:04
Speaker
Crypto is going to be getting his own animated series. Follows Crypto as he tags along with a gang of misfit criminal wannabes who live down the block. um Going to be done by the writer of Spongebob Squarepants. And he's going to be showrunner this as well. So it's going be a kid's show. But the big thing we need to talk about is Absolute Batman.
01:10:26
Speaker
Getting a series. nu Not only getting a series, but the showrunner for this is going to be Scott Snyder. who did the comic book. um And everybody, I think it's the most exciting comic book news I think has come out probably in the last few years. everybody Everybody's super excited for this. because it's It's a re reinvigorated story of telling Batman's story, not sticking to the norm of Batman's lore. So, brand new lore to that series.
01:10:53
Speaker
um animated coming out DC Studios so cannot wait for that um and that's it for the news and when we come back if you're watching this on YouTube we will give our Supergirl review until then um we will talk to you then peace let's do the Scooby Doo ending good call doodly loo doodly loo doodly loo doodly loo
01:11:21
Speaker
I'm skipping the intro. We've already done that today. We are skipping the intro. Yes, we have. We have already done that. I live from my father's basement where we are preparing for the zombie apocalypse right there. We got the board up.

Supergirl Review and Critique

01:11:32
Speaker
We're good to buy And by zombies, you mean cats. So doesn't get into the same Yes, yes, cat. A god cat. We just got back from Supergirl, so let's get into spoiler territory. Mild spoilers. We're not going to get into much, but um we're going to review Supergirl.
01:12:01
Speaker
Not a lot of news came out of this movie as far as who's going to be doing voices of aliens. And the only one that I noticed was, you couldn't deny it, was Seth Rogen.
01:12:13
Speaker
later but I remember when that that news broke that he was going to be in the movie. i don't know if you ever saw it, but I saw that news and I was like, perfect. And of course, a certain segment of the fan base shit on it for some reason, which is weird because Seth Rogen's fucking great.
01:12:29
Speaker
Yeah, he's great. um And he was great in this role. It was just a quick scene, but it was a few scenes of him with some dialogue and being an alien carrying Kara around the universe.
01:12:41
Speaker
We could definitely get closer if I had balls in an engine. yes um Overall, I enjoyed this movie. um It was definitely um definitely not... It's bar below Superman.
01:12:57
Speaker
um Well below, I um yeah i feel. couple ah a couple bars below. i mean The biggest issue with this is... is like Craig Gillespie is a great director, and um this is probably maybe his worst movie that I've seen. um He's a fantastic director, but it was almost like... It really was like Craig... I, Tonya, Cruella. There's another one i can't think of, but it was really like he was trying to like do a James Gunn movie. he just didn't have James Gunn writing it.
01:13:27
Speaker
yeah um Because Anna Noguera's script was a little bit... And miss not great. um Yes. story story big Story was flooded for sure.
01:13:40
Speaker
One big thing I would have changed around is I would have had the opening to be the Krypton scene. Yep. And then she wakes up. ah So you have that that backstory.
01:13:52
Speaker
and's so Because everyone knows we see Crypto get shot in the trailer or whatnot. So it have been better to have that. And then when Crypto gets shot, you have way more invested. And then you go forward with that. it just The editing choices just, I don't know, to me, didn't make a whole lot of sense.
01:14:06
Speaker
But um she was fantastic. I really did enjoy Lobo. I liked him a lot. Um, I had the same issue apparently other people did at the end when he says, see you later.
01:14:17
Speaker
Dits. A lot of people thought he said tits. Um... i thought he said tits. And then I remembered, like, as soon as he said that, I was like, wait, what? and then I was like, oh, yeah, he called her a dits from the bar earlier. Um...
01:14:29
Speaker
But overall, I enjoyed it way more than I disliked it. The writing needed to be sharpened up a bit, um which I guess could be an issue. i don't know going forward how... Because James Gunn's been working on Mad Tomorrow pretty much since this movie started filming.
01:14:45
Speaker
um yeah So know if that you know, maybe he needs to chill on actually making movies. Maybe he can just write them a lot, depending on how long he stays, if he stays through the merger and whatnot. don't know, though. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
01:14:58
Speaker
Especially seeing, you can't go online without seeing it being trashed right now. um But it also definitely reiterated the fact and that David Kornswit is...
01:15:12
Speaker
Probably he's still my second favorite Superman, but he's my favorite on screen Superman. Yeah. Every scene with him, every scene with him was great. Oh my God. And yeah the thing about that is we'll get into some, I got some topics we'll talk, we'll bring up, but yes first off, when she comes on earth, she, she can't talk to Clark.
01:15:30
Speaker
Obviously she speaks in Krypton. He speaks in English. yeah She doesn't understand him. So there's an an initial period of her being on earth, especially when she first gets here. where her powers kick in.
01:15:43
Speaker
And there's a scene, it fast forwards after she lands on on where the Fortress of Solitude is. That's where her ship lands. That's where Superman shows her the Fortress, tells her he's going to take care of her and show her around.
01:15:55
Speaker
Fast forwards her looking out of a window at the Daily Planet building. She's in the middle of Metropolis. This is right before, probably right before Superman. Crypto's still a little bit puppy. um And the the city sound, she's annoyed by them.
01:16:10
Speaker
the the The buses, the car horns, the people. So she puts, the reason why she has the headphones and the and the Walkman, she puts those on to block them out. thought that was a great touch for the movie.
01:16:22
Speaker
Very small, simple touch, but liked it. um The other thing I want to talk about, um we know what the suns do. this is These two movies, Superman and this, we know what the suns do to Superman, especially the yellow sun. Yellow sun gives them power. I think this and may be the first time on film where we've seen other suns show what happens to super Kryptonians. um yeah i' take it I don't think it ever happened in any other Superman movie. We've never seen rere nursinging a green sun,
01:16:54
Speaker
Definitely not a green sun. or red I don't think we saw a red sun either. i don't think we've seen a red one either, yeah. So it's the very first time, and the and the very first time we see a planet that has a has a ah fluctuating yellow and green sun. And at the very end of the movie, a little bit of a spoiler, that's where the final battle takes place on this planet, and Krem is there knowing that when the sun rise the green sun rises, it's going to weaken, almost like kryptonite, it's going to weaken Kara to the point where she's almost having blood poisoning. um And then when that sun sets, the yellow sun comes up and she gains her powers again. And that's where the last battle takes place. She ends up defeating Krem.
01:17:35
Speaker
um That was, I think, the first time we've ever seen that. And also, it was mentioned in Superman, but going to the red sun makes her human. makes her yeah Makes her so she can drink. yeah yeah Makes her so she can get get drunk.
01:17:48
Speaker
And then once she gets back in the yellow sun, the the drunk and the the alcohol wears off of her. And she's like, yeah, I can't drink in the yellow sun. So I like that touch. I'm glad that they they showed that in this movie. and i think it's one of the first times we've seen it. I think they've shown it in TV shows. but And on a film, it's pretty cool to see that. Um, the movie itself more Superman than I expected. I think that anyone expected i yeah sweat yeah David Cornswept was in a bunch of scenes. Um, of course, like I mentioned, he was there when Kara landed when she was a few years ago when crypto was still a puppy. I like, I also like how she found crypto get into that in a minute. Um,
01:18:28
Speaker
But he was there. um he you see her You see him training, giving giving her a suit so she could be more like him so that people would could trust them more. um Love that touch.
01:18:39
Speaker
Also, fast forward to the end. We'll go get into that in a minute, but he shows up again at the very, very end right before the credits roll. um As far as her acting, as far as her as Kara, as far as her as Supergirl...
01:18:51
Speaker
I loved her as Supergirl. um yeah I knew I was going to like her, especially when we watched House of Dragons Season 1. I loved her then. i love her in this role. She's 23 in the movie. So she's she's a young adult, but she's ah she has so much trauma in her life, especially when her whole entire planet gets destroyed around her.
01:19:12
Speaker
um So I love her and as this character, and I cannot wait to see her in Mana tomorrow. We'll get into that at the end. um The Krypton... background scenes of seeing everything on Krypton. We've seen it so many times. It's definitely a different Krypton. It almost looked like a bizarro version of Metropolis a little bit. It wasn't as flourishing. It wasn't as... Like, Snyder Rise, I guess you could say. There was no there was no dick ships.
01:19:37
Speaker
so No dick ships. in this version It looked just like a normal city. looked like a normal planet. yeah that do You see a little bit of the beginning of what happens with Krypton. Of course, you know, the earthquakes start. The Earth from underneath the core starts to erupt and Krypton eventually explodes. We see Argo City. Argo City, like Kandor, is bottled up into a... into a kind of a dome and sent off planet when Krypton explodes and that's where she lives. But however, when they, when Krypton explodes and they're out, and they're out in the space away from the explosion and they're, and they're floating through space underneath Krypton, there's minerals that start to form.
01:20:19
Speaker
And that's what Kryptonite ends up becoming. And that's the Kryptonite eventually is what comes to Earth and lands on Earth and becomes the the poison to Superman as well. But it's poisoning everybody on Argo City underneath this dome in the middle of space. um And her father um and her mother are there.
01:20:36
Speaker
um Her mother does, spoiler, her mother does die in the movie. Very sad scene going and they have to bury her. And that's where she finds Krypto. um But her father finds the plans that his his brother Jor-El made to send Superman to Earth and makes a ship large enough to hold her. Because at the time, you're thinking, what well, like Finn, who went to the movies, he he asked us as we were leaving, is why didn't they just go off Earth?
01:21:04
Speaker
They didn't have the technology to go off Krypton. They didn't have the technology to send. They didn't have a spaceship to send anybody on off Earth. That's why they had a small capsule to send a baby to be enough to for a long travel to get to Earth. um That's why they didn't have the technology to get that far. They were getting there, and then eventually when Jor-El's brother, who is Kara's father... built a ship to save her because she wasn't she didn't have the poison of the kryptonite on on argo city that was destroying her um so he's like i want to get i want to get you out of here before that takes over your body too because he knew he was dying he knew everybody else on the planet was dying but since she was born on the argo city it's also the other rare thing um she was born after krypton exploded
01:21:48
Speaker
eight years after Krypton exploded, at eight years after after Clark was sent to Earth. She was born on Argo City in the middle of space under a dome.
01:21:58
Speaker
So that's why the poison hadn't hit her as fast as everybody else in this dome city. So she knew everybody was they knew everybody was doomed, so he built the ship, sent her to Earth, and that's where Clark found her, where the Force of Solitude is, in whatever pole they are.
01:22:15
Speaker
Love that. Love the Krypton. Love the Argo City. Love all of that stuff. I wish we got more of it, though. Yeah, it was like seven minutes of the movie, right give or take. And I don't think, and we didn't get the origin with Superman. We just got right to the second or third year, or however long he's been Superman. We got right to the action. So was good to see that in this universe. Different different take of it.
01:22:36
Speaker
Of course, every time they do a new origin story of Superman, we always get a new take of it. It's another way of doing that, not glomming on it in the beginning of a Superman movie, a Superman franchise. Lobo, like you said, Momoa, born to play this role.
01:22:53
Speaker
Great in this role, but I'm i'm sick of Momoa right now. the Momoa everywhere. um And he did a great job with this character. um Watered down, I would love to see an R-rated version of him.
01:23:05
Speaker
Yes. Do an R-rated solo or a TV show or something. Or he could be, i was going say, or he could be in something that is more R-rated, not having to be the main guy. Yeah, not be restrained. pun intended. yeah But not, like, he could be in, like, say, don't Lantern Season 2 or something like that. Oh, yeah. Or something else they do on HBO, something like that. He doesn't need his own thing. What was...
01:23:25
Speaker
I don't know if Lobo can carry a whole... I mean, I guess you could have said that about Deadpool or anyone else, but I don't know if Lobo would have the juice um to carry a full movie on himself, but it's it'd be great to see him be able to actually let loose in an R-rated with a little bit better dialogue and writing.
01:23:43
Speaker
Yeah, the dialogue was not getting this. I think a James Gunn Lobo movie would be really good. Or Lobo in something that's well-written is all I really care about. um yeah Because the the the basic what what this basic basic review is going to be is the writing in this movie is atrocious.
01:24:04
Speaker
it's not It's the acting that carries it. It's the people that were cast to play these iconic characters from the comics from Supergirl's been around since the 50s, I think, 40s or 50s. Whenever she debuted.
01:24:15
Speaker
So it's been ah it's been a role that's been done a few times. It's been done with one movie back in the eighty s This is the first time they've done an actual movie and taken it seriously. So there's yeah there's a little little bit of a hiccup here, but overall it's enjoyable.
01:24:30
Speaker
Speaking of the 1984 film... I watched it for the first time ever to prep for this. Oh, God, why? Because I had never seen it. And um that movie defines the word grimace. We rate things as a grimace through five. And that movie is fucking awful. like I think Superman 4 might be better.
01:24:51
Speaker
It's is so bad. Yes, the Superman movies are better than Supergirl for sure. um The other thing I want to talk about before we get into the end, Krem wasn't a big fan of what they did with Krem because we read the comic book, wasn't a fan of the villain, wasn't a fan of what they did with him in the movie. I did like Ruthie chasing him through space, but yes why?
01:25:14
Speaker
What is the reason? I don't understand why they taser-faced him or whatever. um one i didn't like the look. Because the guy that cast looks just like Krem in the comics.
01:25:25
Speaker
One thing, with though, before I forget, you mentioned Ruthie. I like how all... Because the comic is written from her perspective, basically. I like how all the major action scenes were all from her perspective. Watching Supergirl fight. The camera was around her, and it was her just watching everything happen. I yeah i enjoyed that aspect of it.
01:25:43
Speaker
Um... In the last fight, I thought it was really dope. But yeah, Krem was pretty good in the comic, but he wasn't in the comic much either. He was probably more in this movie than he was in the comic. Which showed in the movie that he was a weak villain to begin with because was a very weak movie.
01:26:02
Speaker
I saw someone say he was a phase one Marvel villain. That's kind of how it felt. Like he was just kind of there. I mean, Gritted in general, if you look at comic book movie villains in general, a lot of them are not great. um It's just we have standouts like Heath Ledger's Joker that everybody's going to compared to. But for the most part, a lot of they're about 50 50 on being very good or just, you know, who the best one, you know, who the best one is, you know, the best comic book villain is.
01:26:30
Speaker
The best one. Who's that? Magneto. And McKellen. Yes, Magneto is great. um But then again, Magneto is kind of like Thanos. He's kind of got a point.
01:26:41
Speaker
Can't lie. yeah Magnus kind of... He teeters on Grey to me in most iterations. He's got a purpose that you can actually stand behind. But like if we're looking at like villains from movies, he's definitely... um Especially the way he's played portrayed by both Ian McKellen right and Fassbender. In those movies, he's...
01:27:03
Speaker
an incredible fucking villain but he also has a point yep yep um and the final battle they beat creme they beat all the guys the bad guys and ruthie gets her revenge well she actually doesn't get a revenge supergirl stops her because they she realizes if she kills creme um that's gonna sit with her for the rest of her life so supergirl is the one that Ashley takes the sword and stabs Krem and kills him. right And leaves Ruthie yes to to have a normal life and not have to have that on her conscience for the rest of her life.
01:27:37
Speaker
It'd be a burden for young child. That's where all the action, the movie ends there and she goes back to Earth with Krypto. And she lands into Superman's apartment as he's coming in from saving the city or doing whatever. um And they sit down in his living room, the same living room that him and Lois sat in and Superman watching the aliens fighting outside the window. um and they And they have a talk and he's like, you can stay here.
01:28:02
Speaker
this is This is your home too. And she kind of agrees with him after after that journey through space and everything she's went through. She's like, yeah, I have family here. this is i Even though I lost my family, this is home to me now. This is my home. You're my family. so And that's where the movie leaves off and has Crypto's eating chocolate in the kitchen because he's ransacking Superman's kitchen, Clark's kitchen. yes and that's where the That's where the credits roll. No after credits, by the way.
01:28:26
Speaker
which is Which is weird for a DC movie because I think we've had after credits in almost everything. um what ah So what is this setting up? Man of Tomorrow. We know now that Kara is now part of that that cast. We know that Millie Alcock is part of that cast, and she's going to be fighting, we guess, Brainiac and teaming up with Superman. So she's all part of that story in the comics anyway. So very exciting to to have her part of that cast. Very exciting to see where this goes a year from now, right? A year from now, Man of Tomorrow. July 9th. Yep.
01:29:03
Speaker
Yep. So, overall, I enjoyed the movie, um but it had a lot of flaws, and every every review is right about that, but i think some of the reviews are a little harsh because there's a war against comic book movies right now, especially the output of how many came out and in the short amount of time that it did. And i think I think a lot of Hollywood, especially snobs, a lot a lot of Hollywood snobs, a lot of review snobs,
01:29:29
Speaker
are fighting against comic books and the big blockbuster of everything. It's not just comic books, it's blockbusters in general and how they're vapid and they don't say they don't have a story or they can't tell a story. They can tell a story. It's just you have to you have to know the right the right people to put in charge to tell that story and the right writers. and There's a lot of hit lot a lot of hits, but there's a lot of misses too, unfortunately. And that's

a lot more than there used to be 10 years ago.
01:29:57
Speaker
Hi. Your dad's behind you. Your dad's behind you. oh Oh. So, review. Number. For me, I was sticking between a three and a half and a four.
01:30:10
Speaker
I think I'm gonna stick with a three and a half. I did enjoy it. I will watch it again, but it's it's definitely mid, a little upper mid for me. Yeah. um As far as story-wise, but i love all the acting. I love all the the casting of this movie, and and going forward, I can't wait to see. Like I mentioned, um in my Superman review,
01:30:30
Speaker
I love this universe. I'm glad every time I see more of it. and and in seeing this, I cannot wait to see lanterns because we're going to get even more deeper into the universe, of especially outside of Earth. So cannot wait. Three and a half for me.
01:30:44
Speaker
Yeah. Yep. Three and a half for me, too. um Because would be a seven out of ten if we're ranking out ten. So three and a half is perfect for me. Yeah. I also, I'm also super, I was looking through letterboxd, I'm like, I feel like 98% of the movies I see are three and a half out of ten. It's funny, i say the same, I say the same thing too. It's because it's, like I mentioned before, like, a three for me is something that I probably may never see again. If I do, it'll be ten years from now. So three and a half is a little bit better than that.
01:31:15
Speaker
Anything lower than a three is something I'll probably not watch again, ever. even If I do, it'll be kind of torturous. But yeah overall, happy with the direction DC is going. um I read an r read an article saying that if one Warner Brothers is happy, whether this if this movie worldwide makes at least $300 million, dollars they'll be happy. They'll think of it as a success. I'm not sure if it will or not.
01:31:38
Speaker
I think part of that, too, is the... it made the most ever pre-movie from other ventures like KFC for a DC film. um And also, like, nowadays you get streaming. Like, back in the day, they say the DVD sales, and yes, that's true, but they didn't factor that in because that came six to eight months after the movie was out of theaters. yeah And that you also have to pay other companies more, but, like, HBO now, they just put it on HBO, and that's all theirs.
01:32:05
Speaker
Like, He-Man, I think to get a sequel for He-Man, I think it's going to do really well on Amazon prime and it's going to make them a ton of money because so many people have the ad tier.
01:32:16
Speaker
Um, and so that's just another avenue where they never thought about that with DVD sales. Cause you still had, you to pay out other distributors and stuff like that at the same time as DVD sales pay to have them made stuff like that. We're now a streaming.
01:32:29
Speaker
They can just put it right on their service and essentially not pay for anything. Um, so. yeah Yeah, so that's that's where we are with Supergirl. Cannot wait for Lanterns. Cannot wait for Man of Tomorrow, of course. And find out what else is going on with this universe. I just want to see more of it. Every time I see something new, I want to see more of it. We talked about Creature Commandos earlier. i want to see I want to see that too. Because that opens up a lot more than live action does when you have the animated stuff. You get a lot more in animation. yeah With a lot more characters, lot more episodic as well as far as that's concerned. so That's it for our show this week. Next week
01:33:05
Speaker
um Show and tell, beginning of the month. We'll have show and tell. You said you had something you're going to show off you're excited for. i I really hope my other thing comes in because I got but into a new expensive habit. um Yeah, I can't wait to hear about it. I ordered another one. um And yeah, i can't wait.
01:33:22
Speaker
And if the other one doesn't come in by then, I'm going to an unboxing and put it on the YouTube. Okay, cool. Yeah. um Cape Fear comes out tomorrow. We'll talk about the the two episodes. it The show is really good. yeah catch up The bear. Yeah, the bear. how The bear comes out. house ah The bear came out today. All the episodes. So we'll watch that for next week. How's the dragon episode two? We'll watch that.
01:33:44
Speaker
Coming out tomorrow night, Life Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness. That starts airing tomorrow on HBO. We'll talk about that. Brand new movie on Netflix starring John Cena and Andre, e Eric Andre called Little Brother. That comes out tomorrow as well. I'm going to watch that this weekend and I'll give my opinion of that. im Not a huge fan of Eric Andre, but I'll watch it. i was about to the same thing, yeah.
01:34:10
Speaker
And X-Men 97 premieres on the 1st, which I believe is Wednesday. three-episode premiere. We'll talk all about that next week. um In the month of July, big, big month.
01:34:21
Speaker
On the 7th, in two weeks, Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 premieres. The first night, the first week, is premiere. of the making of TNA Wrestling with Jeff Jarrett.
01:34:34
Speaker
Cannot wait for that. the week after is the follow-up third part. um On the 10th, Moana and Evil Dead Burn come out in theaters. On the 17th, The Odyssey. The week before, in a couple weeks, we're going to watch Troy, or at least i am because I've never seen it. And we're going to talk about that because that's basically the build-up of The Odyssey. So we'll talk all about that.
01:34:55
Speaker
On the 23rd and the 26th, it's Christmas time. Christmas in July for me, at least. San Diego Comic-Con. We're going to get a lot of news coming out of that, I'm sure. On the 24th, a brand new trailer came out today. We'll talk about it next week for Motor City with Alan Richson. Looks great. Comes out on the 24th. On the 28th, if you want to get it on the PlayStation for the very first time, Halo is being released on PlayStation, but it's a remake of the first game from the original Xbox, Combat Evolved. It comes out on the 28th. On the 31st, we've got two superhero things we're going be watching. On the 31st on Amazon Prime, we've got Batman Caped Crusader Season 2. And on that same day, we'll talk about Spider-Man Brand New Day. Cannot wait for that. Talking about it every week. I'm very excited for that. so
01:35:45
Speaker
Thank you, everyone. Busy month of July. we had a we were It's just a busy summer because then in August we got we got lanterns. so Busy summer altogether. Thank you, everybody, and we will talk to you next week.
