Speaker: Welcome to AIC News. Give us a few minutes and we'll give you the goods. I'm Eric and I'm here with Dave. Yes, that's right. Your main correspondents are here with you today for a special edition of AIC News, where we are going to start off by recapping the first round, the very exciting first round of the 2022 Archie Awards. So as you know, if you've been listening to the show last year, we debuted our Archie Award, which is our tournament to decide
Speaker: the fan favorite best toy line of the year. This year we expanded the field to 64 individual toy lines, doubled from last year, and round one was exciting. So I'm gonna give you a quick breakdown of some of just the highlights. So our biggest win, landfall victory as it were in round one,
Speaker: Was our matchup against the Marvel Legends defending champs from last year They got the random draw against the diamond select mini mates and they absolutely crushed it with a 92 over 8 percentage out of 100 and
Speaker: That was their victory. That was the the largest margin and then the most exciting we actually had to run a recount on our matchup against Super 7's reaction and NECA's Toony Terrors line We had a 50 -50 draw at the end of voting so we had to run it back again and ask people to vote one more time and
Speaker: And in that second round of voting, the Super 7 reaction line took the lead and the victory 56 over 44. So as of the recording of this episode of AIC News, which will be airing on Monday, December 5th, we will also be launching round two. And there are some absolute mammoth matchups here in round two.
Speaker: Tears will be cried, blood will be shed, hearts will be broken because we have some really, really big heavy hitters going up against each other in round two. Just to kind of call out a few, one of the matchups will be Mattel's Jurassic line versus McFarland's DC Multiverse line. Two of the most popular toy lines out there now are headed against each other here in round two. We also have two Hasbro
Speaker: big Hasbro brands headed against each other in Power Rangers Lightning Collection and Transformers. We have another huge, huge, huge match up here. Mattel's WWE line versus Mattel's Masters of the Universe Masterverse. And then what arguably could be a in other in other circumstances could have been a championship match is happening around
Speaker: to as Marvel Legends goes up against NECA's Ultimates line. So lots, lots and lots to vote for. Of course, if you want to vote in the Archie tournament here, the voting will be open for 24 hours and the voting does open on Monday, December 5th. Speaker: We also saw future basics for Toxic Attractions GG Dolan and JC Jane as well as Aaliyah and Commander Aziz. We also saw future elites for Jimmy and Jey Uso. We finally saw the Target exclusive Legends 18 full lineup with Samu, Fatu, Paulie dangerously and a WCW Hulk Hogan figure.
Speaker: Ultimate 17 includes Seth Rollins and Andre the Giant, and the next premium live event wave was shown, representing SummerSlam. Mr. Perfect is your build -a -figure.
Speaker: The wave includes Zeus, Hulk Hogan, and Dolph Ziggler. We also got first looks at previously announced waves. We saw Elite 100. We also saw the Walmart -exclusive Ruthless Aggression 4. Ruthless Aggression 4 includes Eric Bischoff, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Undertaker. Coliseum Collection 2, Jake Roberts, and Rick Roode were on display, as was Ultimate Cody Rhodes.
Speaker: Elite 101 was announced. That has Kevin Owens, Mr. America with a chase, Cody Rhodes, Ricochet, Sonya Deville, and Johnny Knoxville. It also looks like a future Elite Wave will include the Sami Zayn from the match with Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania last year.
