Frame it. Use it as art. Put it in one of those shirt frames hanging on the wall. um Hey, it's it's white gold industries. Those things are like just the shirts like out of print. You can't even get it anymore. So.
00:04:33

00:05:21
Speaker
So um Adventures in Collecting will be at Toy Fair next month, um literally a month just shy of a month from air date of the, of this episode. Uh, we already have some really fun things booked. Um, really excited for, you know, all of kind of the new stuff. There's a lot of new moving parts, um, headed into 2026 with a lot of like licensing things. There's a lot of really interesting conversations to be had. um and we already have a pretty packed schedule, uh, this far out. So, um
00:05:55
Speaker
We're going to try to do the same thing that we did at New York Comic Con where we're kind of like running and gunning and getting getting you the information as as fast as we possibly can.
00:06:05
Speaker
um Yeah. So look for that ah that content coming in Valentine's Day weekend. So we will be there the 14th and 15th with what I would imagine a a recap episode of some kind on the 16th.
00:06:22
Speaker
so That is our our bouquet of flowers for for yeah the the listeners and followers.

Guest Steve Ozer from Mattel on WWE Collectibles

00:06:30
Speaker
We'll aim to give you a dozen toy reveals. how about that? ah Instead of a dozen roses. I don't want to make promises. How about ah about a Whitman sampler of information? I said we said we aim. We aim to. out' We guarantee...
00:06:47
Speaker
going to surprise and delight a little bit having in last year there was a lot or last toy fair there was a lot more than 12 reveals so i think we'll i think 12 is a good We hit 12, like I think alone at like the NECA booth. So a lot of things are in flux this year. So it's true. This is true.
00:07:04
Speaker
um With that, ah let's bring on a friend of the pod pillar of the toy community. um One of ah one of the people behind bringing ah today's subject ah to life over at Mattel. Steve Ozer, action figure attack himself. Welcome back to Adventures in Collecting, man.
00:07:23
Speaker
Hey, guys. Thanks for having me on again. uh it's super fun oh to talk to you always i know you've you've been a busy guy you've been on a lot of ah ringside live streams lately oh my gosh we're doing another one friday um they're not going to be weekly um but we're going to do more this year there were a lot of fun last year uh but i can't do the the weekly gig hats off to you guys for doing these things regularly but um i can't hang Well, you do a great job with them. We're super excited for this one, especially the your your community member guest.
00:07:59
Speaker
Shouts to Fig Heel. We're big Fig Heel marks here. So he's an awesome guy. That's great. Yeah, it should be a fun conversation. as should this. ah yeah I like the ah dramatic zoom-ins for his videos. Hey, come here. I want to show you something. yeah the best he's like the equivalent he's like the the wrestling figure equivalent to that guy who does the the ones in the mirror where he gives away like recipes to things i i forget his his name but he's like he's like come here come closer come closer no closer i i thought you were gonna say the the tiktok kid that's going viral like come here i want to show you you haven't seen that no exact people okay we're there why you
00:08:44
Speaker
we're on tick tock, but like check the box. It will be now that we mentioned it. i always appreciate it. Cause it had like a street magician vibe to it. Like, come here, let me show you something like, like the david Blaine specials and stuff.
00:08:58
Speaker
And I love those. So that's, that's yeah about as, that's a huge compliment. and I love, I love street magic. i do I do love myself an illusion. I do love an illusion. um Real quick, before we we ah we jump into our top tens here, and we'll we'll set the stage for that momentarily, but you were part of a live stream friend a friend of ours, Kevin, over at Toying Around, over you know right before the holidays, and you you had a little tiny piece of information about you and another friend of the pod, Kyle Wadaga, who is now over at Mattel. that um that you guys are going to be DC-ing and up together over there.
00:09:38
Speaker
i don't know what you're talking about. h Yeah, so you know the news broke last year that Mattel was awarded the license again for DC product. um So I am part of that team and I'm blessed to be working with with Kyle and some other amazing people that are making up our Mattel DC team. So, you know, there's going to be a slow rollout of information as the months go by, as we head into next year um of information reveals and whatnot. So, you know, there's not really anything I can really say beyond that I work on it. um And then, you know, Mattel PR and the machine will will do their thing and reveal these things when the time goes.
00:10:20
Speaker
come um but yeah exciting things ahead for sure and blessed to be working on two of my uh most beloved brands i mean add muppets to the mix at some point in my future and i've checked all the boxes oh man yeah well hey you never know maybe there's that muppets w wwe or muppets uh dc crossover in the in the future who knows i did host strong drove from orlando to atlanta because of that i was like i am going to this bleeping show yeah that to me kermit's never far from me he's right he's right back here so i i feel i feel you um nius' cousin it's canon also excited for that uh re-theming of rock and roller coaster
00:11:06
Speaker
Oh, yeah, that'll be fun. I mean, really, really sad about Muppet Vision 3D closing. It's an absolute classic, but I'm looking forward to see what they do with Rockin' Roller Coaster. Yep, yep, same, same. Well, but yeah know we have we have so many fun things to look forward to in 2026. We've got new live streams, we've got potential DC reveals, all of this amazing thing, all of these amazing things coming from ah from you and Mattel. But before we do that, let's...
00:11:34
Speaker
turn our vision backwards one last time, look at 2025 and talk about ah each of our 10 favorite releases, across the WWE lines. Now these could be elites, ultimates, main events, two packs, whatever, whatever whatever a so a single, a retro single release from 2025 that, um, you know, that we thought made the top 10, uh, we have each selected 10 releases and, um,
00:12:02
Speaker
what we'll do is if there is any crossover, so whoever happens to get to something first, uh, we'll just all reveal where that, you know, may be on our list if there is any crossover and, and we'll just talk about it then. But in, in this case, uh, you know we're just going to go one by one and run through them, give a little reason why we picked them and, uh, and, and keep it moving here. So, uh, I'll get us, ah you know, let I'll kick us off.
00:12:28
Speaker
Um, okay. with my With my number 10, and what these are ranked, so we'll go from 10 to 1. So i'll yeah I'll start us off here with ah with my number 10 pick, which is Monday Night war Make a difference, Fatu.
00:12:45
Speaker
A figure I never thought in a million years we would get. um It is time to make a change. Yeah. ah Say no to drugs. before Before he did it for The Rock, he was doing it for the kids. um I am an absolute mark for anything new gen. That is that is my like what makes my heart sing when it comes to wrestling. So anything that falls into that new gen category is like immediately gets high marks for me. And this is just one of those, like you know,
00:13:18
Speaker
crazy ones that, like I said, and I never thought we'd get this version of Fatu. I love it. And it's and just all the details on it, like, you know, ah everything on the jacket, all the deco, the two different hats that he comes with, the like the expression is so good. um Yeah, just makes me think of those PSAs and I'm I'm super happy to have them.
00:13:40
Speaker
Nugent was such an amazing time for visually pleasing gimmicks. um I'll put it that way. So toyetic for sure. So it's a crime that, that w WWE's boom periods were kind of in flux. It was like an in-between phase of w WWE. ef but You know, Casbro was in full swing at that time or Jax was, was all in and figure things out there and their formula of success at that point. Like,
00:14:11
Speaker
the figures would have been even more unbelievable than what we eventually got from Jack. So really cool to go back in time and be able to touch upon the the new gen. Yeah. and I love that you're sneaking some of those into the Monday night war line.
00:14:24
Speaker
And anytime I see that, that blue and yellow logo on the box, I'm like, yep. Guys, they count first nitro through last nitro. It counts.
00:14:36
Speaker
Yep. I'm, I'm here for it. You know, I think they got the lead like, yeah, yeah Yeah, I'll take all the ones from the losing part of the w WWE period. Yeah, the new gen period. No, but seriously, more new gen. well Anything that I can put in the new in my new gen collection, I every time scoop it every single time. See, i always love it because like i as I was growing up, like my taste was growing up. So it was like, okay, this is fun. But Eric loved it. Yeah.
00:15:11
Speaker
Yep, my favorite gimmicks everybody needed it Everybody needed a day job It was great
00:15:18
Speaker
Steve, why don't you Hit us with your number 10 Sure. So my number 10 was someone who for several years, we were trying to find the right spot and the right look to do an ultimate figure of. So somebody who was long overdue to be included in the Ultimate Edition line. And then at WrestleMania in Philly, um she came out in this amazing gear. And Bill and I immediately like looked at each other and we were like, that's the one. And he got to work right away. So at number 10, I've got Ultimate Edition 27 Bailey.
00:15:50
Speaker
twenty seven bailey This is on my list as well. This is my number five. um It was immediately into like our premium toyetic event thing right at that time. I think I did write that one solo because Eric was away that weekend.
00:16:07
Speaker
um But it was immediately one of those ones. I was like, this needs to be a figure like just with the whole entrance and the the big coat, you know, basically her being carried out.
00:16:19
Speaker
And then winning the title like it was perfect. The sleeves are so good on that figure. who Yeah, it's a complex outfit and he had to get really creative, build in figuring out how to execute this and make it work. A lot of new tooling on it to really accommodate Bailey's unique gear um and well worth it. It was very positively received and Bailey is is so, so deserving of of the ultimate treatment. So really happy that that this came to fruition.
00:16:51
Speaker
I love to like the ultimate line has that precedent to be able to do like the, um, interchangeable arms all the way back from, you know, series one. Yeah. Ronda, I believe. Right. Um, yeah. and so seeing all that with like Nakamura and Brett and all those through the years, like it's such an awesome thing to be able to take advantage of. Cause you can do so much more.
00:17:15
Speaker
So little, little, uh, backstory. um Bill had just either they just were released or they were about to be released. The like Cesaro figure with that like rubber jack tuxedo jacket that he had. and And I feel like it was it was good thinking to try to do something different, to try to give it a little more posability and get the jacket off and on. um But it wasn't quite you know as good as we had hoped it would be.
00:17:45
Speaker
um And then I was standing outside Bill's Cube and I'm like, why don't you do what you just did for the flashback Mean Gene with the swappable arms and swappable jacket. And then things snowballed from there and that eventually played a role in how we developed Ultimate Edition. So you can thank Cesaro and Mean Gene Okerlund for this swappable jacketed arm feature on Ultimates.
00:18:07
Speaker
what a what a What a bald combo. yeah The power of baldness wins again. There it is. Yeah. and And it just, you know, this this speaks volumes to, you know, shouts to shouts to Bill, um you know, making kind of the decision of a sculpted piece like this versus something that's, you know, soft goods. Because, you think there's a time and place for both where, like, you know, it's... and sometimes even together, like we we've, we've seen on like the new Rhea Ripley that's coming, but like some, this jacket captured the way that it is because of the swappable arms. I think this just, this works so well, just works really, really well.
00:18:45
Speaker
I don't think we could have done this ah via soft goods unless we charge you guys like a hundred dollars for it. so Yeah. All right, Dave, that, that takes us to, ah to your number 10.
00:18:59
Speaker
um So this was, My number 10 is from the Monday Night War series seven. And that is going to be NWO Great Muda.
00:19:10
Speaker
Not the the chase one, but the the standard with the New World Order face paint. um I love Muda. i was I think I mentioned in the regular top 10, I was afraid of Muda when I was a kid.
00:19:24
Speaker
um you should You should be still. You told this story, but you didn't tell Steve this story that you were afraid of Muda. So I remember the first time I saw Muda on WCW. I think it was in the feud with Sting. like it was He had like Gary Hart, who was always like a mean manager and like...
00:19:45
Speaker
I was like, this dude's scary. He doesn't say a word. he And then he holds his neck and like green mists people. Like I didn't know. He'd like just spit slime at people. I'm like, this dude is terrifying.
00:19:58
Speaker
And he's like emotionless and like just a scary looking guy. um and that was something that always stuck with me. And over time just became somebody who I was like, oh, this dude's awesome. Like I am so enamored with this guy. So when He became part of the coolest thing that was one of the coolest things that was going on when I was in like high school and college.
00:20:22
Speaker
I was like, oh man, this is even cooler. like I love Great Muda. I'm so happy he's shown up now in this. So similar origin story of my Muda fandom. um I probably discovered him right around the same time as you, but it was through.
00:20:37
Speaker
it wasn't Pro Wrestling Illustrated, but it was like the Bee magazine to Pro Wrestling Illustrated. There were two at the time that were you know up there in popularity. So it was like that that secondary magazine and there were pictures of Muda. in it um and you know the face paint was like coming off a little bit and he was like spitting the mist and like there was just like this sense of like real danger about him like seeing the visuals of him a lot of the stuff in the and nwa felt more dangerous right yeah um it wasn't as approachable as you know the bushwhackers um so yeah yeah super cool you felt that immediate danger and you knew he was special just from seeing like some photos of him or limited action
00:21:19
Speaker
And and's it's also been such a great pleasure to build out the NWO roster, right? We went from having like really just like, you know, the the primary NWO members to now having an almost fully fleshed out NWO in just a couple of years. So that's pretty, pretty incredible. really proud of that.
00:21:38
Speaker
And even starting to fill out like NWO Japan, which had a like lifespan that was way longer than the NWO. If you look it up, like NWO Japan was going on for a long time. All right. Writing that down for expanding expanding NWO options. Oh, tay if the two of them made my ah wish list.
00:22:02
Speaker
If the NWO was allowed... Yeah, I was going to say. we would we The NWO would still be growing. if it's Maybe it is. It's true. It's true.
00:22:15
Speaker
They finally ended the modern NWO. Like...
00:22:20
Speaker
ah The OG never-ending faction of of of the NWO. All right, so it takes us to my number nine. So first loop around, i love a good meme, and I prayed for this, and it happened. So... the ultimate edition, uh, drew McIntyre. um I, I just, I just love this figure. i love this expression. The other, the other heads on this are fantastic. I just can't stop using this one for things. Um, it's just so ridiculous. And I, I'm a huge drew fan. I, you know, I've told this story multiple times, but like I took a very long time off from paying attention to wrestling and came back like around 2019. Um,
00:23:06
Speaker
um And especially like really back in during the pandemic. And this guy literally put the company on his shoulders and carried it through that Thunderdome era ah and has just reinvented himself again, you know, as as ah this like Internet troll mega heel. Yeah.
00:23:27
Speaker
current current undisputed champ right uh but yeah i i love this figure uh again great great accessories i don't have it have them out right now but like the the soft goods um kilts the the entrance jacket the different head sculpts the overall kind of like torso proportions and like he he's just like he's like an uh not not odd but like he's an an interesting body shape in real life where he does have these kind of like long tree trunk legs, but he's, he is kind of built like an action figure. Honestly, he's, he's, he's very top heavy.
00:24:00
Speaker
um But yeah, this is, this is just a really cool figure. i Love the proportions, love the detail. And I, and I'm a big fan of when figures kind of feel almost evergreen for a character like, or a persona where you can, especially as a photographer, like,
00:24:18
Speaker
this isn't like super unique one-off ring gear. Like I could take pictures of him in so many different situations and it's not like I don't get mentally stuck as like, oh, well he only wore that once and it was here and it was kind of like that. Like, so this, this works for me as like the quintessential um Drew McIntyre.
00:24:38
Speaker
So yeah, it's my number nine pick.
00:24:42
Speaker
How fun was it to get the scan for him for this? That was just based off the the visuals, the images that were available, and and Gentle Giant sculpted that for us, so they did a bang-up job. Oh, wow.
00:24:56
Speaker
It's pretty cool you mentioned some of that stuff about Drew, like it's a quintessential Drew figure. um Sometimes those like sleeper figures are some of the best ultimates, like the Batista Legends ultimate that we did couple years ago. That that is our best-selling ultimate of all time.
00:25:12
Speaker
Um, granted it happened during the pandemic and people, you know, were just like fiending for collectibles, but I think it also speaks to the power of doing just a ah core look of a character, in a great execution and, and it's going to work. And, you know, Batista drew is another example, you know, some of the Hulkster figures that we do. um they really feel very satisfying. Brock, the Brock ultimates just like, He's a guy in black trunks, right? And it's like, why is this, why does this feel so good, you know, in the hand as an action figure? um But they work.
00:25:46
Speaker
Yeah, the Hogan one's a great call, too, because, I mean, it's like trunks and boots, the tan body, you know, like it's just... You know, but yeah, they they do feel really satisfying because I think it is that kind of core moment. Like you associate that, you know, persona with the way that that figure looks and it like it doesn't just check a box. It like carves the checkmark into it. It's like, OK, if I never if something happens tomorrow and I never have the opportunity to get another Drew McIntyre figure, another Hulk Hogan figure like I have one that is just like, yeah.
00:26:22
Speaker
So it makes total sense to me.
00:26:26
Speaker
uh all right uh steve we're back to you for your next pick all right at number nine i'm gonna choose survivor series ple elite one two three kid um now you know we've done six and x-poc and a couple of one two three kid figures uh but there's so many gears like that were untapped um and i think this one the purple gear was something that was like often requested. So really exciting to to get this version out there. New head sculpt. um And really, like, it really pops for for Waltman here.
00:27:03
Speaker
um Really satisfied with it. Yeah, the likeness on this one is is crazy. good um That was the first thing that jumped out to me. Because my favorite 1-2-3 Kid you figured you guys have done was part of the Monday Night Raw.
00:27:17
Speaker
Was that a three-pack, right, with the Raw sign? um That's probably my my favorite. Because, again, same thing. like When I close my eyes and think of 1-2-3 Kid, I think of that outfit. and And, honestly, that storyline, too, with him and Razor. I think that moment, yeah. um but this is this is a great like alternate alternate look for him um yeah awesome pick dude and can also double as your million dollar corporation one two three kid um until maybe we get to to that true heel version of him
00:27:52
Speaker
all right dave that that loops us back around to you for your uh your number nine Number nine, Monday Night War Series 6. This is my meme one.
00:28:04
Speaker
Hardcore hack. Oh, yeah. couple of months it was. But like one of those figures that I never thought I'd get. I just remember like he went to WCW when I was like in college. I remember when it happened. He showed up with the barbed wire and shirtless. And I'm like, what is going on here?
00:28:24
Speaker
And the fact that we have this as a figure now is just unreal. Like I love the, you know, Like Eric was saying with the make a difference, Fatu, we all need like, you know, the gobbledygookers and the goon and, you know, all of the those types of figures. And as much as we all love Sandman, like the hardcore hack, the fact that that can happen is unreal good.
00:28:53
Speaker
The goon to this day, the green being. Yeah. Oh, go ahead. Go ahead. i was just saying it did. It did great. Like these deep cuts do work. There is affinity for them. So, yeah, I'm glad it was so well received.
00:29:06
Speaker
Because of yeah inside it's all moments like we remember. I couldn't. I think that he was in the junkyard, but like I couldn't tell you a hardcore hack match, but I remember he showed up like.
00:29:18
Speaker
That was that to me, the fact that he he like there is there was a short period of time where Sandman was in WCW. And you know where this was born out of? Like, I designed this one with one of our our junior designers, Hector, um and it was born out of my love of the old Toy Biz figure. um And I really just wanted to replicate that as closely as possible in the Monday Night War line. So, you know,
00:29:44
Speaker
We got pretty close to it. um But yeah, you know, it's just that was memorable. Like he had a brief stint, but you remember he was there in general. um He had ah an action figure, WCW action figure. And and yeah, yeah. And and here we are.
00:30:02
Speaker
Yeah, what I was going to say is WCW who didn't get figures. He got a toy biz. crazy i was gonna say you brought up the the goon you brought the goon before it that still blows my mind that you guys put that figure in a main like main main line wave like wasn't like a subline wasn't a build a figure just the goon it was collector's edition right maybe I don't think that one was, but it's still... No, I think it was. wait
00:30:33
Speaker
Wait. I think he was Collector's Edition. i could be wrong. He was meant to be Collector's Edition. i don't know if we ended that or not by the time he came out. um But yeah, Goon, like, when I... When I started, Goon was on the list. And, you know, I kind of took it upon myself to leverage that list as much as possible of available legends so that we can get more. um And we were making that dance. Someone asked for the Goon to be signed, so we were going to make that figure. um and And we did. And look, it never clogged.
00:31:07
Speaker
i don't even know Is he worth something on eBay now? I'll check. Probably. probably how could you not want a goon figure do you guys want a green vault figure hey yeah if you if you need if you need the goon bet if you missed him the first time that would be it that's yeah it's an interesting one the one that i the one that i want from the vault from that era is okay isaac yank isaac yank let's not talk about the goons ebay prices moving on ah eron one one and done
00:31:39
Speaker
All right. um Okay, so that takes us back to me, right? So we're on number eight. My number eight is Ultimate Edition Black and Pink Modern CM Punk.
00:31:53
Speaker
um I'm late, like, full full ah full, I will fully admit that I am late to the CM Punk fandom. I just, again, you know, the amount of time that I took off from wrestling, it, you know,
00:32:08
Speaker
took me a while to to get on board, but a boy, am I on board? Um, this most recent run has just been so much fun. The comeback at survivor series, the amount of figures that have been out to support said comeback, um, the different expressions that you guys have been giving him. ah it's yeah. And I, and I'm, you know, I just love the pink and black. I love the, the, the Bret Hart throw or Bret Hart tribute.
00:32:35
Speaker
Um, um, Really excited for some of those new heads that are on some of the new elites and and ah and ah main events that are coming with the Phil's longer hair, his his less ah less slicked back look. So, ah yeah, but just a solid figure. And and again, you know, um really great proportions. I love when these Ultimate Editions...
00:32:58
Speaker
um hit that proportion, you know, give you kind of the extra articulation, those, those really nice butterfly joints, get some really great movement out of him. He can, he can hit, as you saw the, the, the go to sleep really easily, which is, which is great.
00:33:13
Speaker
Um, yeah. Uh, so that's my, what was that? Yeah. Number eight. So number eight, ultimate edition CM Punk.
00:33:23
Speaker
Uh, yeah. So, it' Steve, I think we're back to you. Yeah. All right. So, uh, for eight, I chose, I mean, is It's crazy. So we had, we had some panels, WrestleMania weekend.
00:33:37
Speaker
Um, and at the last minute, we weren't supposed to have a panel with these people. Um, we were supposed to have them in booth for a surprise reveal. And then like, I don't know, an hour before hour and a half, they were like, Hey, can you do a panel? And can you write a script? And I was like, I can't write a script in an hour. um okay But can you do the panels? Like, sure. Do we have a host? And they were like, no, I'm like, I guess i'm hosting it. So I got to host a panel with Cody and Brandy to reveal their ultimate edition two pack figure. um So surreal moment, you know, for me getting to do this and then getting to present to them something that I know um was really special as an action figure.
00:34:20
Speaker
Um, so Cody and Brandy celebrating their entrance at WrestleMania in Philadelphia, um, as well as like the, the kissing heads for their, their pre and post match celebrations. Um, and this, this did really well in Mattel creations. Uh, so proud of this item. This was an item that, that me and Bill worked closely together on, um, to bring to life. And, um, you know, you guys, you guys supported it in a big way. So really happy about this one.
00:34:46
Speaker
I love this new trend of face sculpts with eyes closed. So kissy face or otherwise, i just like eyes closed. It's so important for alternate. Like, again, speaking as, you know, a toy photographer, the eyes closed. It's so important. Like when you have somebody down on the mat, when you have somebody yeah know getting hit in the corner, um you know, them having their eyes closed really adds so much emotion the you know, to that, those those, that photography and it's less editing that you have to do with Photoshop to close their eyes. So, ah yeah, I, I love this, this trend of, uh, of eyes closed portraits.
00:35:24
Speaker
And I think it helps now because in we're in a new generation of WWE superstars who are toy savvy. You know, CM Punk, you mentioned his gear. He knows what he's doing, right? um co Cody, when he reviews these figures for approvals, like he knows what's up.
00:35:41
Speaker
You know, he and he knows, you know, what questions to ask. He knows why we're doing things. So, you know, God bless those people because back in the day, we wouldn't be able to do alternate heads like this.
00:35:52
Speaker
Yeah. So yeah super, super cool. Uh, Dave, that takes us to your next pick. Yeah. My number eight, um, also a CM Punk, but from a different point in his career, um, earlier on, which is the, um, dark match, the defining moments, dark match CM Punk. Um, what a fun way to get this into the line. Like, no kidding.
00:36:21
Speaker
I love, I love that that was possible because of, uh, Because of the dark match and, you know, you get short CM Punk, which is back long before. know, companies that that we we cannot name, but. um Sneaky. This is a sneaky figure.
00:36:43
Speaker
It rules like I love it. You got the dyed hair punk, too, which is pretty. Like, I want to think.
00:36:54
Speaker
Yeah, that was like between i think he was in in a couple different places at the time, but it's it's so cool. Like, I feel like I saw a video that I think you sent me of this, this era CM Punk wrestling like Eddie Guerrero in like a gymnasium somewhere. Yeah, like back for when he was.
00:37:13
Speaker
um IWA Mid-South, maybe like. Yeah. And then there was a match that weekend. And then he there was also another match of him, Eddie and Rey Mysterio.
00:37:24
Speaker
Yeah, crazy. And that's that's unmasked, right? Crazy. Which is crazy. Even crazier.
00:37:33
Speaker
But it's truly iconic time for him. Yeah. Yeah. It's such a memorable time, like as as a fan of of his to be able to be like, OK, I now have this represented.
00:37:47
Speaker
It also is just crazy how much, how, how few tattoos he has. figure. Yeah. yeah And also just like in a weird way, getting to celebrate like other legends, because this was based on um at least in in my direction of this. um Now he wore this, you know, I think two nights in a row at WWE, something like that. um But to to me, this is this is the the final match of the Legion of Doom.
00:38:18
Speaker
In w WWE, it was a dark match. They had wrestled the night before against Kane and Rob Van Dam on Raw as surprise opponents. And the next night they were on SmackDown for a tryout dark match and they wrestled CM Punk and a tag team partner. So a nice way to celebrate, you know, the final match of like the greatest tag team of all time.
00:38:38
Speaker
um Pretty cool. Maybe a little self-serving. I did go to that match too, so I have a figure representing and another event I attended. That's amazing.
00:38:50
Speaker
All right, so that takes us back to me for my number seven pick. I'm sticking with another Ultimate Edition here. um The leader of my current favorite faction, the Wyatt Six. I'm going with ah Ultimate Edition Uncle Howdy. um Yeah, this is just this is just a I don't know. i'm ah I'm a horror fan, big horror fan. So anything that kind of exists in that like, you know, this is spooky category. um i love and I love the Wyatt Six full aesthetic.
00:39:25
Speaker
um I, you know, i'm I'm not going to comment on the quality of their booking at this moment, but um I do genuinely i enjoy all of the members of the Wyatt Six, both individually and as and as a group.
00:39:42
Speaker
And, ah yeah, this is just a, a fantastic figure. Love the expressions. Again, all the different accessories are great. Uh, the, the deco in detail and detail on, know, on the jacket, again, the swappable arms, letting you get those two looks, uh, and then, and a really nicely, uh, nicely done lantern.
00:40:01
Speaker
Um, Yeah, so love ah love this version of Bo and ah excited to ah to put the rest of the team together. So we're you know when that three-pack hits, I think then we we have we have all of them. So ah yeah, more Wyatt Six to come on this list.
00:40:23
Speaker
We've been really blessed to or to collectively as as fans, as toy makers, to have Jason Baker involved in like the costume work for the Wyatt Six and some other WWE we entrance gear. um It's just like so elevated and different and really professional. um and And Howdy is a great example of that, the entire Wyatt Six, of course.
00:40:47
Speaker
Yeah. yeah Yeah. But even like the little details like the the Bray on the knuckles like, yeah, just awesome. Awesome delivery. I got to go to the hall um HHN in Hollywood and see the maze. How was It ah was awesome. I think I so I went in with a Wyatt Six shirt on. So like I had basically all the scare actors were like, we're just going to pose for this dude and like have fun with him.
00:41:16
Speaker
Like they weren't trying to scare me. They were just trying to be like, you rule like how do you like give me like a thumbs up ah as at the first point? And then it just was like for the rest of the way, I actually got a little emotional on the way out. Like it was super cool.
00:41:32
Speaker
It was it was a heck of a tribute. Yeah. Now, which one there were because there are two different experiences, right? Because like one and the one in Hollywood is different than the one in which one did you get to do again?
00:41:44
Speaker
i got the swamp. the swamp okay because then the other one the one that was in orlando the one in orlando was like gorilla yeah from the from the debut it starts just yeah it starts at the compound in hollywood and it starts at gorilla in orlando got it got it yeah super cool yeah i'm really excited for that that three pack to get uh so that way we have rowan and and uh Nikki.
00:42:13
Speaker
Nikki. Thank you. Yeah. um All right. so Steve, we're back to you for your next pick. All right, ah for number seven, I've got the Ringside Collectibles exclusive, long-awaited Ultimate Edition Tag Team, the Steiner Brothers, Rick and Scott. um Classic, classic gear for both of these. The non-college-specific jackets, soft goods jackets, the headgear on Rick that is detachable under the chin strap. um So, yeah, I mean, this was...
00:42:49
Speaker
they were begged for for for years. So, you know, we we really wanted to do them right. We sculpted tons of new parts for them. The unique, you know, short boot, a tall boot for for Rick. um Scott, of course, his his gigantic biceps. um Love how this set turned out. um And it seems like everybody, you know, really, really was satisfied with this one as well.
00:43:13
Speaker
The non-magic jackets was my favorite touch, to be honest. but Same. Credit to Bill. like He noticed that and he he he easily could have just been like, make two of these, right? And it's the same jacket. And I don't think many people would have even noticed. But he he went above and beyond to to get it right and and did you know jackets that were accurate to their their photos and entrance gear.
00:43:35
Speaker
The fact that these two are not on my list, but in the previous year and previous years, like the Steiners have been on my 10 request post that we do every year. The Steiners have been on there literally every year until last year they came out. Yeah.
00:43:53
Speaker
That speaks to the volume of the amount of stuff that you put out this year, that these are two of my most requested figures and didn't even make my top 10.
00:44:04
Speaker
It's a lot. I mean, i was cheating right before this episode to to try to remember all the figures that we did. So I saw Steiner's. It's technically a 2025 release. um yeah so So, yeah, I was like, they have to be on my list.
00:44:21
Speaker
That and those jackets. Hey, like, you know, I'm not saying recent events have have possibility of reuse, but...
00:44:30
Speaker
That'd be great out the great outfit. It could be. Like Steve said before, see ah CM Punk, he knows what he's doing. He knows what he's doing.
00:44:40
Speaker
But speaking of Scott Steiner... was going to say, you've got one hell of a segue here. My number seven is, it is again, a different era of somebody, but ah Ultimate Monday Night War is Scott Steiner.
00:44:53
Speaker
um This is one of my, like, ones that I've always wanted, like wc w champion Scott Steiner, like you know late run WCW.
00:45:05
Speaker
He was probably one of the best things at the time. And I mean, this this figure like nails it. You got the chain mail, you've got the.
00:45:17
Speaker
um The restraining jacket, the straight jacket. Thank you. I couldn't think of the name of it. But even down to like, you know, the sunglasses, any time you get bit at the WCW version of Big Gold out there, got to love it.
00:45:33
Speaker
And, you know, he's such a again, we're talking about like a trunks guy, right? Like just trunks, black boots, but still one of the most toyetic, probably human beings on the planet.
00:45:47
Speaker
Yeah, um yeah. Yeah, built like an action figure. Speaking of, you know a figure still holds up for him? The Toy Biz TNA Scott Steiner. That's practically a masterpiece of an action figure. So, yeah, he's he's as toyetic as it gets. He's a living superhero physically.
00:46:08
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. he Yeah, and the torso and proportions on this figure as insane as they should be. So, yeah. there But, I mean, it was like, oh, this is... one of the things I always get go with is vibes and like, does this look like a small version of this person to me?
00:46:24
Speaker
And this does like hands down. Yep. And you get all the the hands and stuff that you need. You can have him cut, cut a promo and be yelling at people. That's great. Yeah. He could point at people like it's awesome.
00:46:37
Speaker
good point. Any number of crowd members that he's yelling out, like it's it's totally cool. And now, a word from our sponsors.
00:46:54

00:47:23

That's
00:47:29
Speaker
And tell them Adventures in Collecting sent you.
00:47:36
Speaker
And now, back to the show. um All right, so we're back to me already. i So my next one is we're on number six.
00:47:46
Speaker
um My number six pick is, as I hinted at before, a little bit more of the Wyatt Six. We've got ah Elite 119, Dexter Loomis.
00:47:57
Speaker
um This figure i I have questions about how much of your deco budget was left after this figure, because this is...
00:48:10
Speaker
It's almost like soup to nuts, fully re-sculpted. like like Like, all of the details in the pants and all of the the kind of like snake skin, I think that is, um or alligator skin that's that's on his, and just kind of all of the different washes, washes and hits and the mask and the way that the mask blends with the hair in the back. Like, it's just...
00:48:38
Speaker
the likeness, the entrance coat, all the different... His insane amount of tattoos that are all over him. It's just an insane figure. This is like like I feel like this is like a sneeze away from being an Ultimate Edition packaged in an in an Elite you know box. But yeah, as I mentioned before, i love the Wyatt Six. I was a big Dexter Lumis fan when I came back in you know with the the bit of NXT that I was watching. So I'm happy to see him you know continue to be spooky in a different way. Underrated wrestlers on the roster. yeah like I've been a fan of him since back in TNA.
00:49:17
Speaker
But yeah ah this is this is just ah an absolutely incredible, incredible elite. It was expensive. It was expensive. um i i True story. I had to re-review some of the costs of the Wyatt Six today. um And they're just astronomically expensive action figures. um So, you know, we try to balance things out and make things work. So if you see, you know, people like Stone Cold Steve Austin or Roman Reigns in lineups, thank them because they make you know dexter loomis's deco possible yeah yeah yeah makes sense yeah but yeah such a good fit and even just like like the little details like the shirts hanging out the back just so good um all right so steve that's back to you for your next pick
00:50:13
Speaker
All right, so next up at number six, ah we're going to go with the Hall of Famer, Paul Heyman from Ringside's Defining Moments Elite line. And this is from ECW One Night Stand.
00:50:27
Speaker
I don't remember which one, first or second, probably the first, more iconic, but I don't know. But a multi multi-use ladder year ah ECW or or early 2000s WWE Paul Heyman. Great soft goods jacket, a larger build on him. He's got the lanyard, the headset, classic ECW mic. Like what more can you ask for from a Paul Heyman figure? And a great sinister head sculpt by Magic.
00:50:55
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. I was going to say the thing for me that i my favorite part about this figure is that expression is like ECW Paulie. You know, that's it's it's it screams it.
00:51:08
Speaker
And I'm sorry, i apologize. Paul E. Dangerously, right? Yeah. If we're talking about ECW. Yep. yep Paul E. I like that we're building, that you guys are building kind of like low-key...
00:51:22
Speaker
like a fun ECW collection of things that have like been sneaking into lines here and there. And of course you just announced that, you know, ah last year at the end of last year, that new Jack is coming, which, Oh my God, we haven't even had a chance to talk to you about that yet. And Oh my God. Yeah. um Or as Joey styles would say,
00:51:43
Speaker
Oh my God. Yeah, it is Thank you. um Nice. Nice well low volume version. Try can that's free not to wake, try not to wake everyone up. But, but yeah, I, ah I know I speak on behalf of Dave and I, when I say that we are super excited at, you know, the, the addition of more ECW stuff to the line. And we hope that you keep finding ways to do it. Cause I figure I used to wake up at 2am for,
00:52:12
Speaker
If you could figure out a way to get New Jack into law... I mean, you know, there's, we can do people. It's just can, can the talent and wwe WWE come together and say, Hey, we want to make a deal with each other. Right. We can find home like ringside is the perfect home for new Jack. um They're, they're collector centric. It's a, there's a huge ECW audience built into to ringside. They're based in Northeast, et cetera. So, you know, ah we can, we can make things happen, but, we will We'll keep working with w WWE to push for a lot of these talent that we know you still want. And sometimes it takes a long time. But, you know, I think when we look back, like you see like all these eras, all these factions, ah these companies, they're slowly being like fully represented and fully realized in the line 15 years later. Yeah.
00:53:04
Speaker
This this was a great year for wish list stuff. 2025. twenty twenty five It was a real great wish list here. If I didn't have it like there are ones that everyone else is naming where I'm like, that would be there if eight figures I hoped had come out didn't come out like.
00:53:24
Speaker
I think your next pick falls into that category, Dave. One hundred percent does. um Back to Monday Night War for my number six. This is going to be series eight.
00:53:34
Speaker
One of those people when I saw he got re re-signed, I got super excited. Oh, yeah. can And Brian Pillman.
00:53:43
Speaker
um Like, yeah, we got the Hollywood Blondes one, but like. Heart Foundation, Brian Pillman just. It's, you know, the Hollywood Blondes were great and I loved them when I was a kid, but like Loose Cannon is.
00:54:01
Speaker
Like peak Brian Pillman and. yes You know, there's. maybe one or two more in this era of loose cannon where like one would have to be a vault but now that there's the better technology but like the fact that we've got this so far like where we're cooking like this was this was a long wanted figure with the vest and you know the crutch and all that like perfect and another incredible face sculpt and likeness on this oh my god
00:54:33
Speaker
Yeah. can't remember if this was like, look at this. Yeah. Like, cause he's got such a, like, if you create your eyes and we're like Brian Pillman. Yeah. It's that crazy look, that crazed look.
00:54:45
Speaker
Yeah. I can't remember if, if this was, excuse me, if this was bill and magic or just magic. Um, it was right at that time where magic had come back to us, uh, from jazz wears and he had taken over the Monday night war line. um And Bill, he just stepped in for a couple of waves as we had a little bit of a transition. But um but both of them, I believe, had their hands on this. And and it's it's amazing. Like the the the hair, the wash on the jeans, the combo, sculpted vests with the soft good shirt underneath. um
00:55:19
Speaker
Just great classic. what Really, it's it's one of the looks you think of when you think of Brian Pillman. For sure. Absolutely. For sure. Like him on commentary doing this or him coming out with art foundation.
00:55:33
Speaker
Well, I mean, you saw the the picture that I took with him where I had to put the the the white, the plain white T-shirt from CM Punk, the the Survivor Series Return CM Punk. It was close enough.
00:55:45
Speaker
Close enough to be ECW, Pillman. Oh, no, I meant pull pulling a a firearm on television. In his um in his house, yes. Yeah.
00:55:57
Speaker
that would be a great ringside exclusive. I'm sure that would go over really well with the investors. Um, no comment all right. So that takes us to my next pick. Uh, I'm headed sticking with elites. i mine is elite, uh, one 17 mommy, uh, Ripley.
00:56:20
Speaker
Um, again, going back to that same category of like quintessential gear, um, this was This was her gear from a Elimination Chamber, I believe, in in a in Australia. um So she was on her home turf. It was when she was still working a heel, but ah she was 1,000% a baby face in that match because she was in her home city. I love the extra, the little bit of extra makeup on on the face that kind of like... ah
00:56:56
Speaker
like the the drips coming down the eyes. ah Just, again, amazing likeness on this. This is the first Rhea Ripley 2 with the slightly longer hair, which is you know more accurate to her current look. um Fantastic figure. just just Just a fantastic figure. Now, I am so looking forward towards that ultimate that you guys have been showing off on the ringside live streams. The first broken nose.
00:57:24
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. the ah With the the, like... I call it the Danzig mask. It's not a Danzig mask, but um it looks like... It reminds me that the the that type of skull shape from the album cover. um But yeah, I... ah Obviously, she's one of the most popular talents out there. she's She is incredible. She's going to go down as one of the greatest women wrestlers of all time. ah And she's another one that like totally understands the ring gear to toy, toy attic ratio.
00:58:00
Speaker
That Terrifier one that she did, the the Art the Clown themed one, ridiculous. um Yeah, she's so cool. and yeah And this fit this figure just this rules. Love love it She's the best She really is Yeah Mommy's always on top Even Maddie came around She's a big Rhea fan Yeah Maddie used to be scared of her Now she wears a Rhea Ripley shirt As often as it is clean Kids love her It's great to She's the Undertaker That's
00:58:36
Speaker
yeah she used she's like the undertaker that she lie yeah She's um she's honestly like like The Undertaker where it's like she's badass and a little bit spooky sometimes, but like just so cool. She's almost turn proof at this point. Like, yeah, even if she's a heel, she's not a heel like.
00:58:55
Speaker
Yeah, I think it would be it would be it's going be very difficult for her to work a heel in the future, like a in the current trajectory. It's going be very, very, very challenging. You would you would need someone significantly more popular than her than that she would turn on.
00:59:11
Speaker
ah Yeah, if it happens to anybody else that is is not even close to her popularity. There's no chance. Yeah, nope. And honestly, I don't know, babyface-wise, with the exception of maybe an AJ Lee, I don't know if there's... Neo could be close. That could be heartbreaking, but...
00:59:32
Speaker
Could be. But I think the audience would be split. Right. I think you'd have that split on like AJ. I think I think they would take that to heart because AJ is like, you know, our our our aunt who watches over us. You know what I mean? Like there's different sentiments for someone like an AJ. But yeah, it's it'd be tough.
00:59:50
Speaker
What you could do is you could have her turn on EO and then double down with like the follow-up being AJ. That would be something that you could probably push her. i don't know. It doesn't always work. Remember Austin and Triple H beating down the Hardys like they still loved Austin no matter what. And the Hardys were as beloved as could be. so When Becky first turned. like Yeah. yeah it would it would be That would be a a tough a tough or a tall order, I should say.
01:00:19
Speaker
Don't do it, Triple Just yeah let her be a good guy. Yeah, just let her Rhea.
01:00:24
Speaker
All right. What do we have? Back to you four five. Yes. Number five. ah So this one is an unbelievable figure. um Sometimes, you know, I mentioned on the ringside live, there are like miracle figures we get to do like that. Chelsea green two pack that's coming out soon. um This one, this one is a miracle that we made happen. The stars align with his hall of fame induction. um And it's it's an event that Bill went to. Yes, it's Legends 27 Elite Great Muta from his retirement match. um
01:01:04
Speaker
Just sick. The soft goods is incredible. What a unique head sculpt. So toyetic. um The people, the amount of people in the U.S. that have seen Muda in matches in this era of gear is probably relatively slim, but that figure is sold great and is so well received that just speaks to Muda as, I mean, everything we said earlier, right? um There's something about Muda, I think, I think just like.
01:01:33
Speaker
and in reality unrealized potential in the u.s could have been so much more than he even was and he's already beloved um like this this guy was just like a star yep uh he is on all of our lists so um dave and i i believe we both had him at number three yeah total elimination that in joey's voice a Total elimination. There you go. He got it this time. um There aren't children sleeping in his house. That's true.
01:02:06
Speaker
But yeah. and i So my favorite current talent, like modern wrestler Shinsuke Nakamura. He's my favorite. I love him. if Anybody listening, if you... ever have the chance to read a really interesting, awesome autobiography. I cannot recommend King of Strong Style enough, even if you are like just a wrestling fan. It is awesome. The fact that he wrestled Muda in this gear in his retirement match is just like, I needed to have this. Like it was, it was a must have. And when, as soon as you guys announced that it was going to be part of the legends line, it was like, Oh, well this is just kismet. I mean, this is this perfect. My guy got to retire, you know, his guy effectively. So yeah, super, super cool figure. All of the things that you said, um
01:02:57
Speaker
Dave's favorite sculpted hand of all time, the the grasping the the throat hand. um Yeah. Fantastic. So therere there are a few that um there were ones where I was like, kind of like dropped the phone as I'm watching on YouTube, like screamed at the top of my lungs for a figure announcement like where I'm like, ah, like I can't believe this is getting made. um New Jack most recently, but like this Legends Muda was like that's retirement match like pro wrestling. No, Muda like unbelievable.
01:03:36
Speaker
and Do you remember when we announced it? Comic Con or WrestleMania? Probably one of those, I would assume. I think it was Comic Con. Comic Con. yeah I think this was a Comic-Con panel because I remember seeing it and kind of just going like.
01:03:49
Speaker
ah Like, oh, we could that's allowed. They're allowed to do that. We could do that.
01:03:57
Speaker
The impending cocoa beware is one of those two. But yeah, yeah. Oh, my God. I'm so happy we got that cocoa out. Coco and Crush. and crush We made a joke today in one of those like final meetings of the day of like sometimes things get like shot down and you just have to wait about eight years or so and then it becomes a yes somehow. And it just seems like that trend keeps happening to us because Coco got canceled. Not canceled. I don't even know what his real status was. I know there were sculpts, but we couldn't move forward at a point. There was like that ringside lineup that had Coco in it. Yeah.
01:04:33
Speaker
it came out and it's even better. And in reality, it was worth the wait. Cause it's so much better than than that original work bill was able, which was good. Yeah. And Frankie, Frankie with them, the swappable hair and headband. um Yeah. Yeah. But that's for next year's top 10 list.
01:04:48
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Early contenders. This year's top 10 list. This, this year. Yeah. Early contenders. Yes. Yes. Well, we get to bypass my number five as it was Bailey.
01:05:03
Speaker
So we can go back to Eric for number four. OK. All right. So my number four. ah Listen, you know, I couldn't not put a Sina on this list um in in the year of of Sina. I almost said the year of our Sina like it was like in the year of our Lord. In the year of our Sina 2025, there were so many really great Sinas. I mean, again, guy that completely understands it. You know the the merch train that was around him.
01:05:38
Speaker
I'm lucky. I'm very, very fortunate that we got to attend SummerSlam in our home. but just like basically in our backyard uh so i i have the the blue dave has it too the blue cena um like the new york giants new york rangers colored uh cena shirt which is great um was tom It's fair. ah But this one is the one that I went with. The the last time is now Farewell Torosina that came in that amazing packaging um with the cool little drop slot to drop. If you if you were in Vegas, right, you could you could get the ah the version that had the little shirt that dropped in the back, the extra extra soft goods. Vegas shirt.
01:06:22
Speaker
The Vegas shirt. um This is the one without the Vegas shirt. But ah yeah, really, really great figure. um You know, John, of course, with his ah his his modern hairdo. And this, I believe the thing that the thing that or the reason why I picked this figure, I believe this was the first one that had the um the towel accessory that could plug into the back of his pants.
01:06:47
Speaker
um I don't think there was a Sina prior to this that did that, ah if I'm recalling correctly. you know, between between the seamless between the seamless shirt, you know, where it's no ah no Velcro and the ah the towel accessory and just kind of feel like this represents that the tour, the the the, you know, ah the farewell tour very well. So, yeah, that's my ah a number four pick.
01:07:16
Speaker
That was Netflix debut, right? What's that? That's Netflix debut Cena, right? That is... No.
01:07:26
Speaker
no Or is that when he announced the farewell tour? no i think That's the announcement. Netflix was an LA specific shirt. I think he had Dodgers, right? Yeah. an l a specific l a yeah yeah i think yes right Yeah, I think so. um Forgive me for not remembering about the towel. We did so many Cena figures this year. i have no idea. Like we were looking at future, like about to come out Cena figures and packaging and stuff. And we just were just so lost. We were like... is what is this? Is this coming out here first or is it in this way? for We were just like lost, like it's it's a lost cause. So we we need to have a reset moment in our brains with Sina and regroup on what shirts we did from this tour um and then kind of restart and go from there.
01:08:13
Speaker
Yeah, yeah and and that's what I was trying to think too. i know this is the only one that I have that has that feature. So I don't know if it's just that it's the only one that I have that has that feature or if it was the first one. Because I bought a lot of John Cena's this year, Steve. I bought a lot of John Cena action figures this year. Not as many as My Damn Toys, which was an incredible... If you haven't checked that out,
01:08:41
Speaker
you're listening to this and you haven't seen My Damn Toys, his video tour of his Cenas, go check his reels. i think he has every single one. I'm pretty sure it looked like it. If he's missing any, then I'm number one.
01:08:55
Speaker
Okay. Because I have every elite and basic figure. So well we'll hammer that out someday and see who is the number one John Cena action figure collector.
01:09:06
Speaker
John, he's not even my guy. I'm just a crazy wrestling figure collector. ah All right. ah So that brings us to Steve, your next pick.
01:09:19
Speaker
Where are we? Four? Four? We are at four. Four. Four. Okay. So hard times, baby, if you will. Ultimate Legends, Dusty Rhodes, brand new sculpted torso, new heads, soft goods polka dot shirt, ah the cop hat, the nightstick, um the quintessential version of Dusty from w WWE in in the early ninety s Late 80s? Early s early ninety s um yeah And I think, you know...
01:09:52
Speaker
obviously there are two camps of dusty fans. Um, those who really fully embrace that WWE run and those who, who prefer the, the classic NWA pure wrestler dusty, but you know, there's no doubt about it that, that there were more eyeballs on this version of dusty and like people, you know, really fell in love with him. Um, and he, he made all this work, the music fantastic, one of the top theme songs of all time. Um,
01:10:22
Speaker
And you know this this figure is so satisfying. And even if we did an NWA version instead of the polka dot here, I still think it would feel just as satisfying. Going back to those conversations we had earlier in the in the the Zoom here, it's a satisfying figure. It feels good in the hand. It articulates very well.
01:10:43
Speaker
um And then the new sculpted parts are really, really nice. Yeah, yep. And for those that were, you know, the the Hasbro fans, you know, back in the day with ah the w WWF figures, ah this is... feels right at home there.
01:10:59
Speaker
so We need a sun damage yellow boots variation. Oh my god. Yes. ah Dave, so that takes us to your next pick.
01:11:14
Speaker
um Number four... Um, I'll talk more about it when I get into it, but it is going to be ringside exclusive defining moments, WrestleMania 13 stone cold, Steve Austin, um, a figure that I didn't know was possible until I knew it was possible. Um, but one of those ones where it was like, Oh yeah, like I've always wanted like this figure to exist. I just, it was one of those ones where it was like, it'll never happen.
01:11:45
Speaker
Um, One of... Like, when you talk about defining moments... Like, when you think of Stone Cold Steve Austin, you think of WrestleMania 13.
01:11:57
Speaker
It's it's all one of... Oh, for sure. One of the ultimate WrestleMania moments, aside from him winning winning the title twice at Mania, like... This was one of those things where, like, you can't... you could If you saw it, you could never forget it. And it became t-shirts. It became...
01:12:16
Speaker
You know, like the cover of a videotape, it became like everything, every moment of all time. Because for a lot of us, that was the first time we you saw somebody like, oh he possibly did pass out from bleeding this much. Like, it was just one of those, like with Shamrock being to the ref and Brett and just one of the more memorable matches of all time and just started a, started an era.
01:12:46
Speaker
kicked It kicked off an era. like if And getting that three pack to support this is going to be even better. Like, yeah. Yeah, just if you could, you know, one moment to define an era, it's this.
01:13:03
Speaker
Sometimes I can't believe... when we go back and look at these things, cause you know, we're working one, two years ahead. um And it's like, Holy smokes. Like you, you mentioned talking about defining moments. Like this is the quintessential defining moment, like of professional wrestling. You know, if there was a wrestler made for the line defining moments, like this is it. And this look is it. So it's, it's wild. It took this long to get here, but it's also wild. we were able to do it and make it happen. So Very cool. Yeah.
01:13:34
Speaker
And kudos to that's a that's magic on the the screaming head sculpt for this one. Right. Or was that bill? This is, I think, a combo. Once again, magic could just rejoin. And I think they they tag team this one.
01:13:46
Speaker
Yeah, like it's it's I could see the mat below the head. Like I could like. It's one of those things you never forget. And if you again, ah just some additional viewing, if you ever have the opportunity, if you haven't watched it yet, there is an amazing it's on the w WWE channel of Brett and Stone Cold watching this match, talking about it while they like like it's it's like a watch through.
01:14:14
Speaker
um It is such an amazing conversation between the two of them. just like cannot, cannot recommend it enough. Cannot recommend it enough. think back to his podcast too, of him talking about this.
01:14:30
Speaker
It's great. My favorite part of that, um, that video was when Brett brought up Bill Goldberg.
01:14:39
Speaker
Always, always never, steve never misses an opportunity. I'm taking a sip. Yeah. I always love to that. It's always Bill, Bill Goldberg. Like it's like one one word now, like his name has become one word. It's just always Bill Goldberg. bill gold There's there's a couple of people on TikTok that just like talk about random subjects as Brett. And then they weave in the Bill Goldberg spiel at the end. And it just kills me every time. You know, it's coming, but it's just like great. You know, it's coming, but you don't know when. And that's that's the funny part.
01:15:15
Speaker
It's like, you knew you you know, I always knew when mom was mad at me because I'd get David. I don't have a middle name. But like, you know, when Brett's mad at you because you get your whole name.
01:15:26
Speaker
All right. So up that's going to come back to me. um we We I'm we both skip three. We both skip three.
01:15:37
Speaker
so so was that three gun our three was was legends Muda. So that's going to head to you for your number three. So my number three is another ultimate legends figure. Um,
01:15:51
Speaker
special time in my life, a return of a childhood hero. And I kind of like followed w WWE around the Northeast um that spring and summer as this person, you know, did, did their, their return tour and it's, it's ultimate edition Hollywood.
01:16:09
Speaker
Hogan from his 2002 WWE run, undisputed champion, defeated Triple H at Backlash. um And it was it was a really special time. um He did the book signing. I mean, like so many things happen. Undertaker at Madison Square Garden at a house show.
01:16:28
Speaker
um just Just really crazy to to have the Hulk's their home and in w WWE again. um and I think Bill did a fantastic job with the brand new head sculpts on this one, the the hulking up heads. and just Just top-notch stuff. So really happy with this figure encapsulating that that time of of Hulk.
01:16:53
Speaker
Yeah, and it's he's, again, just one of those guys that's toyetic. Just toyetic. I love the Undisputed title, so if there's any way, like, I'm always happy for an excuse for an Undisputed title to show up.
01:17:09
Speaker
And Dammit, I fought for the right one in this set. um There's two. There's a bigger version that came about a little later. I think Rock was the first one to hold it, and he was preparing to give it to Brock Lesnar. And we have both, and and you know they're so similar. um when we call out this title like sometimes we we get either version from our partners in asia and i was like that is the wrong damn title we need the smaller one and i was adamant so i'm so happy we got the right one here with the hulkster yeah the v1 of it um all right so that comes back to to me right back to me now we're at number two
01:17:52
Speaker
Or number two. i am going to skip my number two because I know that it is going to fall on someone else's list. And I'd rather let them introduce it since it's going to be a number one. Right. Like that's that's the that's the the impetus here. That's so. um Uh, yeah. so then let's go to ah Steve. We're actually right back to you for your number two.
01:18:23
Speaker
Number two is the greatest intercontinental champion of all time. A man with a mighty fine mullet and an even finer mustache. It's elite 119, Dirty Dom, Dirty Dominic Mysterio with this purple La Parca inspired gear, Judgment Day shirt.
01:18:42
Speaker
um Look at that guy. Look at those biceps, those guns. It's not a minute skipped in the gym. such a good figure his dad would be proud better each one if his dad wasn't such a deadbeat he'd be very proud of him in this action figure oh no i meant his real dad unfortunately with us and he would be so proud of course oh and he's most proud the mullet in reality um Yeah, Dom dumb is so good. that that dude is, we are blessed to have him in wwe WWE. Like he just, I think he exceeded everyone's expectations, even his own. Like he can do no wrong. He is he' is one of the best the company he has right now. um
01:19:30
Speaker
Toyetic on top of it sweet fella. um He's great. He's great. It is so too I've when people were like, oh i don't know. I was like day one. I'm like, no, he's going to be good. He like he's he's going to be fine at this. Don't worry.
01:19:47
Speaker
It was so it's so crazy to go back and watch that, like that run with him and his dad as like short hair team. The fact that that was only like what?
01:19:59
Speaker
Was that even two years, three years ago? Like it was it feels like in a blink of an eye, he completely reinvented himself and is is exactly what you said. I mean, he's he there was a point where he his heat, the right kind of heat, right, was so hot that he couldn't even touch a microphone.
01:20:22
Speaker
Like, yeah I cannot remember. One of the greatest heal turns of all time. It was like the most obvious healed, but still like for an individual, one of the greatest heal turns of all time. And like how quickly he they cranked, he cranked that dial and went from like emo Dom with just kind of like, like started to grow the mullet to like where we are now. It's just unbelievable. on Like if they ever did a hair match with him, I wouldn't know what to do.
01:20:49
Speaker
Like, oh, my God.

WWE and AAA Partnership Discussion

01:20:51
Speaker
Devastated if he loses those long luxurious locks of hair. But i mean, he's done has been great. Like. the, the triple a stuff has been great. Like at, like, ah when is he bad at this point? Talk about being over, like he was over in the U S and then you hear his reactions in with the triple a audience and is just like amplified by 10. Yeah. Um,
01:21:15
Speaker
Yeah, he's he's he's a superstar. like There's no future star. He is a star. Yeah, it's true. Now, now with with um you just brought up a good point, Dave. you know And again, we we have it's been a little bit since we've talked. With the w WWE and AAA's relationship, like for future DOM releases, are like some of those things now like on the table with that sort of acquisition? like in terms of like including like a triple a title with, with the WWE wwe athlete.
01:21:47
Speaker
It's complicated. Um, rights, ownerships, designers, you know, it's not a straightforward path, but we're working through things and we'll see what we can do.
01:21:58
Speaker
Awesome. Awesome.

Review of Elite 115 Kairi Sane Figure

01:22:01
Speaker
Um, Dave, that takes us to your number two. And if you've been listening along, you know that these are two of my favorite figures of the year, not even just wrestling figures. But I'm going to start off with Elite 115, Kairi Sane.
01:22:19
Speaker
It's Kairi's second figure. And the first one was like a great figure, too, with the um when she was just straight up like pirate princess Kairi.
01:22:31
Speaker
And she had the sleeve like the ah which was an awesome added piece to be able to have the um the wheel like. But now we get to damage control Kabuki Warriors era Kairi. And like this is another one where the deco budget must have been insane, but it's kind of perfect.
01:22:52
Speaker
um Like it's so such a like perfect representation of her that. It's just a figure i keep going back to, like as this is, this is like the high watermark of elites for the year for me.
01:23:09
Speaker
Thank you, Greatest Hits Gunter for balancing the budget there. ah Yeah, Gunther's one of those guys. so He's definitely going to be a Deco budget.
01:23:19
Speaker
yep yeah so So Stone Cold, Roman, Gunther. Got it. if if if we Rock. we need Rock, yeah. I'm going to zoom in on the same part that I zoomed in on on our top 10 of the year. the amount of you do The amount of Deco that's just in this, like, I don't even know what you call that upper part of, like, the hip.
01:23:43
Speaker
But like in this piece of plastic alone, the amount of deco that's squeezed in there that's like intricate deco blows my mind every time I pick this finger like figure. Like the clasps and everything? Yeah. Yeah.
01:23:56
Speaker
We get these, you know, design... Oh, yeah. Yeah. um Design will submit a deco sheet to to Asia and then Asia will send it back with all the deco counts. And, you know, for like a Gunter, it might hit like have a point going to like the side of the trunks or something. But for like a Kyrie, like it's just like a million lines and arrows and call outs. We're like, oh, my God.
01:24:24
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, well, we're glad we have it, Steve. We're glad, i'm glad we have it. And that brings us to our ah our number one here. um Our number one picks across the board. um but But right before we do that, we did post on Instagram ah to call out some... ah other people who wanted to just mention at the top of their, you know, who was at the top of their list. Um, so quick shouts. We've got a couple here. So, uh, at collect horror on Instagram, one of our favorite photographers, by the way, if you are not following at collect horror, what are you doing? He is amazing. Um,
01:25:06
Speaker
he chose the Wyatt six in general. So uncle howdy, uh, Gacy Loomis, um, as we mentioned, all just, you know, fantastic figures.
01:25:18
Speaker
Um, and then, oh man, my note just disappeared vamping. Now I got to go back into my archive. Dang it. Um, but we had it, we had a couple of other people that, that posted their, um,
01:25:32
Speaker
their answers as well and they had some good ones if this wants to let me open it now and it probably won't i have some notable notables clear john cena oh there we go that's what i was looking for clear john cena um yeah so uh that came from at mad real on instagram best yeah matt yeah yeah Yeah, lots of A's. M with like 16 A's. Yeah, Matt.
01:26:02
Speaker
um And also um one that we're going to talk about shortly that's that's at the top of one of our lists here. I'm not going to mention that one yet, but J-Man Collects. You're going to agree very heavily with ah with Mr. Ozer shortly.
01:26:21
Speaker
Put it that way. Yeah.

Favorite Wrestling Figures of the Year Discussion

01:26:22
Speaker
So i'll I'll kick us off with with my number one. um Again, to Dave's point, this was my favorite wrestling figure of the year. was Made my top ten list of just kind of general action figures. um My favorite legacy...
01:26:37
Speaker
ah superstar of all time the undertaker uh as i mentioned on our top 10 he did not wear this outfit for very long for as long as many people think but it was so cool that it has left that level of a mark on on us uh the purple and black undertaker with the oh my god mabel crushed my face uh for real No, I'm not kidding. He actually crushed my face. Phantom mask. um Sculpted on this time with two different expressions. ah My favorite detail of this figure is the not dyed roots of the hair.
01:27:17
Speaker
What a touch. What a touch. Um, yeah, uh, just a ah super cool undertaker figure. I love this, uh, this body that the undertaker is on, um, it's buried under all of this cool stuff. Uh, but yeah, tons of accessories. Plus you do get the, uh, the head sculpt with the removable mask, which is a great touch as well. Um, but yeah, the purple and black undertaker, um, or the player two undertaker, if you were playing the, the video game back in the day, um,
01:27:47
Speaker
Yeah, so that's that's my number one legend legends ultimate edition a Phantom of the Undertaker.
01:27:56
Speaker
Yeah. Steve, you're number one. That's it. It's time. um So this one fulfilled, requests, not for, uh, a specific talent, but to really improve, uh, make the very best version of one of the greatest of all time. Um, and that's the Monday night war ultimate edition stone cold, Steve Austin. Um, And that figure featured a brand new build for Steve, new thicker legs, thicker arms for him, ah included the soft goods jorts, soft goods t-shirt.
01:28:37
Speaker
um And I think it's replicating the moment where he drove the Zamboni into the arena, perhaps. um So a very memorable moment. um And I think, you know, an ultimate build worthy of Stone Cold Steve Austin, a brand new knee brace that you can see there. um And, you know, I talked about figures being some of the top selling ultimate figures of all time, like Batista. This one's right up there. um Like so many shipped and and sold um over the course of the last year. um it just speaks to the the evergreen power of Stone Cold Steve Austin. People just
01:29:15
Speaker
eternally love him and this build on beverages in case he's thirsty yeah yeah the build on this figure is incredible um yeah this this was my number two here if steve ah austin also likes a seltzer yeah i think he has a sprite here though yes yeah it's a it's a liquid death did not exist at that time we'll go with that um but yeah this was my number two um this is why i skipped over it uh wanted steve to be able to to reveal his number one um but yeah absolutely incredible incredible figure um this is the quintessential steve austin right now i have the vest from the original ultimate edition actually on him and it it fits great um
01:29:59
Speaker
But yeah, slightly larger build. ah I love that you called out the larger legs because ah we did meet. we We did a meet and greet with Stone Cold like during his heyday.
01:30:11
Speaker
And the one thing ah that's right, you were you were you were not there. um i had i had I remember their ice cream that day. I remember leaving the table, like walking up, getting my autograph on on the eight by 10, know, hey, how the hell are you, kid? Like, you know, like, you know, really, you know, fun little interaction with him. But I just remember thinking that I have never seen larger calves on a human being before than on him.
01:30:40
Speaker
And I was just like, wow, his legs were so big. And I don't know why that was the thing that I was like drawn to in that moment. But I just remember as a kid. You're a calf's guy.
01:30:54
Speaker
I'm a calf guy. What can I say? Can I say? Same thing. I met him and it was like, this guy has boulder calves. Like, how is this even possible? You know, everything else seemed achievable, even if yeah you have to take some extra vitamins to make it happen. Right. But the calves were just like, this is just like inhuman.
01:31:11
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah. yes He's like Big Papa Pump, but just calf only. Big Papa calf. Okay. We'll have to workshop that one. have the workshop The other thing that I've got to say, too, like the this has been a good year, too, for Softgoods bottoms.
01:31:32
Speaker
Like any Softgood pants.
01:31:38
Speaker
The pant quality has just... been super good that's where we were going what portion of the body did the did the pants go on the lower and lower oh the lower lower half lower half But yes, his shorts do fit really well.
01:31:58
Speaker
They're great shorts. They're fantastic shorts on his legs with large. Cena box set shorts, right? Another notable. Yeah. Cena.
01:32:10
Speaker
It's true. It's true. Yeah. Even the last good like the tracksuit pants on that one. Even going back for like the rock tracksuit.
01:32:21
Speaker
Muda pants. Yeah. Well, no, I move like the soft goods. Okay. All right. The soft goods ones. So this was like, they've gotten so much better. Yeah.
01:32:32
Speaker
Yep. DBS. I don't know if he was this year or not. DBS in steamboat. Maybe. Uh, that was this year. That was 2025. That suit was such, uh, an improvement over the original entrance crate suit by leaps and bounds. Um, yeah, I think, I think, you know, collectively we're just, you know, really trying to pay attention of how these things actually fit. Um, on on the figures and um playing with material and whatnot. And, you know thank you for noticing. um Yeah. Yeah. we we We work together to try to make the the soft goods better than ever.
01:33:07
Speaker
The entrance creates one. Wasn't that like a it was almost like a step it like the whole thing. it was like a single piece, wasn't it? If I remember correctly, I remember. I just I remember, you know, um when we went to do the Coliseum Collection, looking back at the... At the time, it was great, right? But yes it's 15 years later, and looking back and thinking, ah, I'm a little worried about doing this in SoftGoods for Coliseum Collection, and Bill really wanted to do it and I'm like, as long as we just blow that original out of the water.

um I didn't want to, you know, repeat that. Once again, great at the time, but I think we could do better now, and he nailed it. He totally did yeah No, yeah that stuff is, like... the quality is like tenfold, like the that a hundredfold. Like it's been so good.
01:33:56
Speaker
Yeah, and I mean, that's something that Mattel in general is ah like the soft good. I mean, it's's it's the the house that Barbie built, right? You know, like there's so many talented people there that know their soft goods and you can see it across the different lines, um which tying back to what we talked about at the beginning of this this podcast, I'm very excited to see what ends up happening with DC because there's a lot of opportunities for some really cool soft good stuff.
01:34:24
Speaker
um But Dave, it's time for your your number one here. It's time for number one. And this was one of my favorite figures of the year period. Bar none. We started the list with.
01:34:37
Speaker
Great Muda and we're ending the list with great Muda to the ultimate 25 great Muda. Honestly, it's you got two versions of Muda with the chase and like both versions.
01:34:50
Speaker
if you were a Muda fan this year, you did good because you got five figures that are off the charts. Like, don't forget those superstars. Superstars are awesome. got Way more like because you got about five more in with all the combinations there, too.
01:35:06
Speaker
um But even down to the mist, like this is the Muda remember. This is the Muda I grew up like being afraid of. and is just perfect. Like even the, the chase one with the black and white, like that's the, if you remember two Moodas, it's that from the like late eighties, perfect.
01:35:32
Speaker
Late eighties, early nineties, whenever he'd should whenever you'd show up in it'd be like, Oh, like now we're, we're getting good. Like you knew something good was going to happen because the scary man is back.
01:35:45
Speaker
I've never been able to work with Bill so easily and quickly as as these Muda figures. um When we had to put a business plan together, it was like five minutes of hashing out you know how many figs we could do in a period of time. And even the looks, um for this one, we, he was like, well, look, do you want, and I named, which, what turned out to be the chase, and he named this one, and he's like, we'll do both, and it was just like, everything was just like, so easy, um and, you know, Muda, Muda was totally totally worth, you know, what we did this past year for him, I don't know if we'll get many more cracks at Muda, or not, but, um but I think we,
01:36:26
Speaker
people will walk away from 2025 feeling very satisfied with Muda in their WWE collections for sure I was gonna say the only other thing that I would want I mean we got it in the superstars version but if this somehow found its way back into um you know green and one of those greatest hits uh lines uh greatest hits uh ultimate editions the the blue face paint is the one that's that's the one for me um But yeah, ah like you said, it's, you know, we were Muda fans were definitely eating good. And in 2025, it was yeah it was feast one of those ones from the render. Like when the you guys announced the render on where I was like, oh, this is this is going to turn out great.
01:37:10
Speaker
Like because even the face with the the spitting the mist, like it doesn't need the mist for it to still be a great. Like, it's not like where it's like, looks like it's missing a piece. If that makes sense.
01:37:24
Speaker
Yeah. Like it still works. It's, it's probably one of my favorite ultimates ever, to be honest. Yeah. Yep. It's like right up there with money in the bank punk.
01:37:38
Speaker
With that, so that's that's it. 2025 is a wrap. We are looking forward now. 2026. Lots of cool things coming. Like we said in the beginning, if you're listening to this when it airs on the...
