Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, hey, everybody.
Speaker: It's your commissioner, Jay Moore, once again for the Bros and Poes Fantasy Football League.
Speaker: I am Jay.
Speaker: I'm the commissioner.
Speaker: I already said that.
Speaker: I'm saying it again.
Speaker: And I am also the owner of the Jay Broney.
Speaker: We're going to jump right into it today because we got some special treats coming at you here in the middle.
Speaker: But we're going to start with recaps.
Speaker: That's right.
Speaker: Recaps from last week's game.
Speaker: Starting with my own game.
Speaker: This week it was the Jay Brony versus 7th Level Dwarf.
Speaker: Now, you guys might remember the last week 7th Level Dwarf had a hell of a time scoring any points at all.
Speaker: And this week 7th Level Dwarf did quite a bit better.
Speaker: 127 points this week.
Speaker: That's a lot of points.
Speaker: I mean, for a team that last week, the 7th level Dwarves only had 70 points.
Speaker: So that's quite a jump from last week to this week.
Speaker: But unfortunately for the 7th level Dwarf, it was not enough to defeat me with 132 points.
Speaker: Yes, I won this game, my first win of the season.
Speaker: I'm 1-1 with 132 points to 127.
Speaker: How did I accomplish this victory?
Speaker: Well, first of all, I had a great performance from Devontae Smith of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker: He scored 21 points.
Speaker: I also had a wonderful performance from Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants, who scored 23 points.
Speaker: Very sadly, Barkley hurt himself at the end of that game and got an ankle sprain.
Speaker: He's going to be out probably this week, probably a couple more weeks after that.
Speaker: Although there are some rumors that he's going to be back playing tomorrow night, Thursday night for Thursday's game.
Speaker: I'll believe it when I see it, but Barkley got me 23 points.
Speaker: Over on the seventh level Dwarf side, Jalen Hurts did have a much better game this week, 25 points for Jeff.
Speaker: He also had a great game from Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers, scoring 27 points.
Speaker: And finally, a wonderful performance from Nico Collins of the Houston Texans, a terrible team who happens to have one decent player.
Speaker: in Nico Collins.
Speaker: And so Jeff's final score was 127.
Speaker: That's on a projection of 96 points.
Speaker: Mine was 132 on a projection of 108.
Speaker: We both did pretty well that game.
Speaker: We're both excited.
Speaker: I was sad for Jeff.
Speaker: I wanted to see him win a game, but he's 0-2 and I'm 1-1 going into week three.
Speaker: And I guess that's just how it's going to have to be.
Speaker: Our second game of the week was Mark's Majestic Marauders.
Speaker: Now, Mark was the high scorer from last week, and this week he was playing the Nifty Swifties.
Speaker: That's Sarah's team.
Speaker: Would Mark be able to pull it out?
Speaker: Well, yes, he was able to pull it out, scoring 134 points to the Swifties, 102 points.
Speaker: Once again, he had terrific performances from Justin Herbert, the great quarterback of the Los Angeles Chargers with 22 points.
Speaker: He got a great performance from T. Higgins.
Speaker: T. Higgins is the wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals with 24 points.
Speaker: His Dallas defense, which you'll remember last week, scored 40 points, was down to only 15 points this week, which was still a fantastic score for a defense.
Speaker: On the other side of the ball, Sarah was really watching Josh Allen this weekend, hoping that he would bounce back.
Speaker: He scored 22 points.
Speaker: Pretty good game for the Buffalo Bills quarterback.
Speaker: However, she was not very happy with her tight end, Pat Friermuth, who only scored 0.5 points.
Speaker: You know, when you've got a tight end that's only scoring a half a point and they're playing against the tight end on Mark's team that scored 21.5 points,
Speaker: That's rough.
Speaker: That's why tight end can be important.
Speaker: It's kind of a boom or bust sort of cycle with tight ends.
Speaker: It's pretty tough to compete because you always have to start one.
Speaker: So you really want to grab those good tight ends.
Speaker: Anyway, Sarah and the Nifty Swifties are now at 0-2 on the season.
Speaker: I'm not worried about the Nifty Swifties.
Speaker: I think they're going to pull it out and do great.
Speaker: We'll see as the year goes on.
Speaker: Mark's Majestic Marauders are now 2-0.
Speaker: So great job from him.
Speaker: Our third game of the week is the Eye of Jansen against Libby's Garden Hose.
Speaker: Libby was hoping that Marshall would have a slump this week, but alas, it was not to be.
Speaker: Libby was defeated 106 points to 63, so that was a real blowout over on that side of the ball.
Speaker: Patrick Mahomes had a great game for Marshall, 22 points,
Speaker: The Chiefs were able to slip past the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 17-9 score in real life.
Speaker: Mahomes, you know, it wasn't a great game for Mahomes, but it was enough to give him 22 points, and that's all that Jansen needed to be able to slip by Trevor Lawrence, who only got eight points as the quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Speaker: That was an exciting game because, of course, Kansas City was playing against Jacksonville, so we got to see those two players go head-to-head.
Speaker: Marshall also had James Connor, who scored 16 points on the week.
Speaker: That's a running back for the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker: He had a pretty solid performance from Hunter Henry, the tight end for the New England Patriots, with 14 points.
Speaker: Over on the other side of the ball, Libby had Trevor Lawrence, I mentioned, only eight points on the week.
Speaker: She had Mark Andrews, who is the second best tight end in the entire league after Travis Kelsey, 12.5 points over there for the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker: And only a seven point performance from her defense, the Philadelphia Eagles, and only two and a half points from her running back, Mr. Alexander Madison of the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker: So Libby then Libby goes to let's see, Libby is now one and one on the season.
Speaker: She won last week.
Speaker: Marshall is two and oh, one of two undefeated teams still going into this part of the season.
Speaker: And the final game that we'll take a look at was the Honnold Wraiths.
Speaker: That's that ghost-driven team against Jeff's Wildcats.
Speaker: Now, this was a pretty close game as well.
Speaker: Not a super high-scoring game, but a close game.
Speaker: The Honnold Wraiths fell to 1-1 this week with an 89-94 loss against Jeff's Wildcats.
Speaker: Lamar Jackson with a 22-point game, the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens playing for Todd and Justin.
Speaker: Also, Kenneth Walker III,
Speaker: 17.5 points with Seattle.
Speaker: That's the running back for the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker: And then, you know, the Honolulu Raids had a pretty good game from their kicker, of all people.
Speaker: 10 points from that is Cameron Dicker, the kicker from the Los Angeles Chargers.
Speaker: That's right.
Speaker: Dicker, the kicker.
Speaker: But on the other side of the ball, Jeff's Wildcats kicker, Justin Turner, the Baltimore Ravens had 11 points.
Speaker: So they both had a pretty good game at 11 to 10.
Speaker: But Jeff had great performances.
Speaker: Josh Burrow, not looking good so far this season, only 15 points on the year.
Speaker: Now, Cincinnati is supposed to be one of the best teams in the league and has had two really terrible weeks in a row.
Speaker: We're looking for Burrow to turn it around, but I got to tell you, I don't like the kid.
Speaker: I don't think he's a good quarterback.
Speaker: I think he's mouthy, and I hope he continues to suffer.
Speaker: And I think that nothing against Jeff and his team, but I want to see him fail.
Speaker: Jeff also has C.D.
Speaker: Lamb with 19.5 points for the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker: A couple other good performances from some of his other team members, and it was enough to slip past the Honnold rates, 94 points to 89.
Speaker: That means that the Honnold rates are now 1-1, and also Jeff's Wildcats are 1-1.
Speaker: So we've got the league standings, Mark and Marshall both at 2-0.
Speaker: Jay, Todd, Libby, and Jeff all at 1-1.
Speaker: And then Sarah and the other Jeff, Jeff Hyatt, at 0-2.
Speaker: Now, you would think that at 0-2, an 0-2 team would not want to come in and talk about fantasy football.
Speaker: But folks, do I have a surprise for you.
Speaker: We have here on the show today our first guest here in week two, and it's one of those 0-2 teams.
Speaker: Yes, ladies and gentlemen, big round of applause.
Speaker: I have Sarah Moore on the call with me, calling in all the way from the upstairs bedroom.
Speaker: So she's on a satellite link, and it's funny to me that we are in the same house on the same wireless network, and yet...
Speaker: the picture is terrible.
Speaker: Like the connection is just as bad here as it is every day with Zoom.
Speaker: And it really makes me mad.
Speaker: Sarah, what do you think of this state of affairs with the terrible picture connection that we've got on this podcast here today?
Speaker: Well, you know, Jay, at least I know I can come downstairs and see you in person without a screen in front of your face.
Speaker: So I'm not too terribly worried about it.
Speaker: I think as long as the league hears your voice and
Speaker: think they'll be fine well I appreciate that I think you're right if the league hears my voice they're gonna be fine you heard it here everybody my voice is gonna make you feel better that's terrific now Sarah you and I have played fantasy football before when was the last time we were in a fantasy football league together I have to believe for me I feel like it's been maybe 15 years 15 years do you remember any of the players that you had on that team 15 years ago
Speaker: No, I don't remember the 15 years ago team.
Speaker: I just remember one of my first seasons drafting Warren Methuselah Moon.
Speaker: Warren Methuselah Moon, the old man in the moon.
Speaker: He was like 79 years old when you drafted him.
Speaker: I thought that was great.
Speaker: How'd that go for you?
Speaker: I mean, it went about as well as this season is going.
Speaker: So, you know, not so good.
Speaker: But I like him.
Speaker: You got any favorite players from those days that you remember back fondly and you think, oh man, I wish that, I wish that dude was still playing.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: I feel like I drafted one year the Pittsburgh running back the bus, Jerome Bettis.
Speaker: Jerome Bettis, get on the bus.
Speaker: Yeah, I really enjoyed him and I really enjoyed watching Pittsburgh.
Speaker: I think it was those seasons that I came to really appreciate and love Smash Mouth football and the teams that actually play in the elements.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I think that he was probably one of my favorites.
Speaker: That dude, Jerome Bettis, like that dude, all he did was score touchdowns.
Speaker: They would give him the ball on the one or two yard line and he would barrel through the defensive line, get a touchdown.
Speaker: Seemed like every single play.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: He would just actually like run people out of the way.
Speaker: He never left the ground.
Speaker: I also, during that same time, I don't think I had him on my team, but I also enjoyed watching Marcus Allen when he was playing with the Chiefs around.
Speaker: I mean, that was longer ago, but they might've been playing around the same time.
Speaker: But Marcus Allen, he would like fly through the air.
Speaker: Same deal.
Speaker: Chiefs would give him the ball at like, you know, a two yard.
Speaker: They'd need two yards.
Speaker: Maybe it was fourth and one, fourth and two.
Speaker: And he would just like jump over the pile.
Speaker: But Jerome Bettis, he would just that's why they called him the bus.
Speaker: He would just run people over.
Speaker: He would just barrel through it.
Speaker: Now, do you have a favorite on this year's team?
Speaker: Who's your favorite player on your fantasy team here on the Swifties?
Speaker: I mean, I'm still learning them, but I would say since I didn't get to pick them and we had the automatic draft, I'm just getting to know them.
Speaker: Josh Allen's
Speaker: doing well for me.
Speaker: So I'm fine watching him and getting involved in the Buffalo.
Speaker: So they're playing out in the cold.
Speaker: They play out in the elements.
Speaker: So it's a good team.
Speaker: I enjoy a good Buffalo game.
Speaker: But I also, you know, he's not getting me points yet, but I enjoyed picking up AJ Dillon because we saw his mom at brunch that morning in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker: And that's why I went to pick him up.
Speaker: Not only did you pick him up, but you started him.
Speaker: I started him.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And let's see.
Speaker: AJ Dillon.
Speaker: He got five and a half points.
Speaker: Now, who did you bench so that he could play?
Speaker: You benched.
Speaker: Yeah, you picked it right.
Speaker: Nobody else scored.
Speaker: That was your best play.
Speaker: That was my best.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think I actually benched a Jones because of his questionable after his performance in Chicago.
Speaker: Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Aaron Jones.
Speaker: That's right.
Speaker: But yeah, AJ Dillon, we saw his mom as we were out to brunch and that was kind of fun.
Speaker: It gives you a little connection to the players.
Speaker: And we didn't actually talk to her, which shocked me.
Speaker: I was convinced that you were going to walk up and just start a full on conversation and be Facebook friends with her.
Speaker: I was ready.
Speaker: Why didn't you do that?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I'm trying to like tamp down my over overly extroverted self when I'm out in public with you.
Speaker: So yeah.
Speaker: uh you know and we had things to do and my foot hurt so i didn't want to walk any longer than i wanted to your foot was hurting that's true all right well let's talk about next week's games we're going to get into some predictions and i'm going to ask you to make some predictions as well so we're going to start off with uh my game that's coming up this week against the eye of jansen now remember jansen uh marshall is one of the the two undefeated teams in the league and i have um i'm one and one right now and
Speaker: You know, Yahoo's currently got me as a 54% favorite over Jansen with 102 projected points to his 98.
Speaker: So a very close game from a statistical point of view.
Speaker: We've got, we have Justin Fields.
Speaker: By the way, thanks Mark for correcting me last week.
Speaker: It's Justin, not Jordan Fields.
Speaker: Really appreciate that little comment.
Speaker: Thanks.
Speaker: Uh, against, uh, Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes, of course, the chiefs quarterback, man.
Speaker: I hate, hate rooting against Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker: Cause he's my favorite player in the NFL for my favorite team, but Marshall's got him.
Speaker: Maybe he'll be the only one that scores any points.
Speaker: Christian McCaffrey has been doing great for me.
Speaker: The San Francisco running back.
Speaker: He's projected to get 18 points.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Like, this is going to be a pretty close game.
Speaker: Marshall also, like, really annoyingly has the Kansas City defense.
Speaker: And so I don't want the defense to score any points either.
Speaker: But he's got Mahomes and he's got the defense.
Speaker: The Chiefs are taking on Chicago, who is terrible.
Speaker: So I don't know.
Speaker: Sarah, what do you think is going to happen in this game?
Speaker: Definitely, I see the Eye of Jansen coming up and scoring high on you this week.
Speaker: But, you know, I'm just a big fan of the underdog.
Speaker: So I'd say screw Yahoo.
Speaker: I think Eye of Jansen is going to hand it to you.
Speaker: He's 2-0.
Speaker: I'm 1-1.
Speaker: How is he the underdog?
Speaker: That's not even fair.
Speaker: If you're going for the underdog, go for me.
Speaker: I'm just looking at what the actual statistical predictions are.
Speaker: And also, Chicago is an underdog.
Speaker: Why not root for Chicago against the Chiefs?
Speaker: Well, but I'm a Chiefs fan.
Speaker: But I'm a Chiefs fan.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, okay.
Speaker: So I'm going to go with myself.
Speaker: I think that I'm going to win.
Speaker: I'm going with Yahoo on this one.
Speaker: I think it's going to be close, but I think I'm going to pull it out.
Speaker: I think Christian McCaffrey is going to have a great game against the New York Giants.
Speaker: I think that the Buffalo defense is going to do well against the hapless Washington commanders.
Speaker: I don't know about fields against the chiefs there, you know, they got Chris Jones back this week and they're looking pretty good on defense.
Speaker: So I'm a little worried about that from my point of view, but at the same time,
Speaker: If they have a great game and they shut down Chicago and I lose my game, at least I'll know the Chiefs win.
Speaker: So that's pretty good.
Speaker: So I'm going to say that I'm going to win.
Speaker: You're going with the eye of Jansen.
Speaker: I think that's great.
Speaker: Thanks for the support, dear.
Speaker: I really appreciate it.
Speaker: All right, well, let's go with game number two.
Speaker: It's the Honnold Wraiths against the Nifty Swifties.
Speaker: Now, this is your game.
Speaker: And this one is also projected to be even closer.
Speaker: Yahoo's got you winning with a 52% chance of winning, but it has a projected score of 101.8.
Speaker: against 100.01 for the Honnold Reights.
Speaker: We got Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for Baltimore, is playing against the Indianapolis Colts.
Speaker: They're pretty bad.
Speaker: The Honnold Reights also have, let's see, what else they got?
Speaker: They got Kincaid, Buffalo's tight end, playing against the Commanders.
Speaker: They got the San Francisco defense going up against the Giants.
Speaker: On the other side of the ball, you know, Josh Allen.
Speaker: They have Washington this week.
Speaker: I mentioned that.
Speaker: A.J.
Speaker: Dillon, your guy, is playing against New Orleans.
Speaker: What do you think is going to happen here, Sarah?
Speaker: I got some work to do on my lineup, but this is one of those games that's just so close.
Speaker: I think it's a statistical tie.
Speaker: So I'm going to go with me because I deserve to win this week.
Speaker: Are you going to play Jones or are you going to play Dillon this week out of the two Green Bay running backs?
Speaker: Are you going to try to play them both?
Speaker: I might try to play them both, actually.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Jones and Dylan.
Speaker: So Yahoo's got that's a 17, 18 point projection.
Speaker: Whereas, you know, Jacobs, your Las Vegas running back is a 12 point.
Speaker: So you're going with your heart on this one.
Speaker: It's going with my heart.
Speaker: You know, now that now that Green Bay is free of Aaron Rodgers, I can root for them with reckless abandon.
Speaker: You don't like Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker: I hate Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, he got what's coming to him.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Our next game, we got Jeff's Wildcats up against 7th Level Dwarf.
Speaker: You know, Yahoo.
Speaker: Poor Jeff.
Speaker: 7th Level Dwarf.
Speaker: Yahoo says that this is going to be a 64-point favor to Jeff's Wildcats.
Speaker: In the Battle of the Jeffs,
Speaker: Who's going to win this one?
Speaker: Well, I don't know.
Speaker: I, you know, Jeff Hyatt with seventh level dwarf.
Speaker: He's got three players that are questionable this week.
Speaker: Metcalf with the, with the Seahawks, Derek Henry, the Tennessee running back playing against Cleveland.
Speaker: That'd be a great game for Henry to really rip off a few.
Speaker: We got Pacheco for the Chiefs playing against Chicago.
Speaker: That would be great.
Speaker: He's questionable.
Speaker: In the meantime, over on Jeff's Wildcats, we have Dak Prescott, Dallas going up against Arizona.
Speaker: We got CeeDee Lamb, also Dallas, going against Arizona.
Speaker: They're going to have a terrific game.
Speaker: I think this one's going to be lights out.
Speaker: I'm going with Yahoo on this.
Speaker: I think Jeff is going to beat Jeff, 7th-level dwarf.
Speaker: What do you think, Sarah?
Speaker: I'm going with 7th-level dwarf on this one because I don't think that we can –
Speaker: I don't think that we can be secure on the numbers.
Speaker: I think that Jeff Hyatt's probably got some work to do in his lineup before tomorrow.
Speaker: And I have a feeling, I have a good feeling about seven level dwarfs.
Speaker: Well, I'd also say that Jeff had better check out his lineup because he's got Kelsey currently sitting on the bench, the best tight end in the league.
Speaker: And if he were to just make that swap out and put Kelsey in instead of Ferguson, that earns him another, what, about eight points or so.
Speaker: And that turns it from a 90-point game to about a 100-point game.
Speaker: So, you know, I don't know.
Speaker: Like, I hope he's listening.
Speaker: I think he's trying to fake some of us out.
Speaker: You might be right.
Speaker: And then finally, last game of the week, we've got Mark's Majestic Marauders.
Speaker: Now, Mark is romping.
Speaker: He is actually marauding through the league.
Speaker: And I think that the key here is to not name your team, to just take the default basic name that Yahoo gives you.
Speaker: because he is crushing it.
Speaker: And Yahoo says he's going to win 103 to 97 against Libby's Garden Hose.
Speaker: You know, he's got Tyreek Hill.
Speaker: Tyreek has had he's having an amazing season so far this year.
Speaker: And Miami plays Denver this week.
Speaker: That should be a good game.
Speaker: We should see how he does.
Speaker: He's got Josh Herbert.
Speaker: The Chargers quarterback playing against Minnesota.
Speaker: Libby, on the other hand, she has Trevor Lawrence again.
Speaker: I think Trevor Lawrence is going to be one of the best players.
Speaker: She has Mark Andrews, who is the second best tight end in the entire league, who is going up against Indianapolis.
Speaker: They're terrible.
Speaker: She's got the old Chiefs kicker, Harrison Bucker, who, you know, making making some good points and looking pretty good.
Speaker: Although they're, um, are they playing in Chicago?
Speaker: I don't, I don't actually know if they're in Chicago or if they're in Kansas city.
Speaker: I think it's supposed to rain this weekend in Kansas city.
Speaker: So I don't know how that kicker will do.
Speaker: Anyway, I, I think Mark's going to go away with this one.
Speaker: 103 to 96 is the prediction.
Speaker: What do you think, Sarah?
Speaker: I'm going with Libby on this one.
Speaker: Um, I, I think that again, uh, Tyree kills questionable.
Speaker: So I, I'm not sure that Mark is going to get all he wants out of, out of Tyree kill.
Speaker: And, um,
Speaker: I think with Libby, she'll make a couple of adjustments.
Speaker: And I think Trevor Lawrence is going to have a good week.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Well, there you have it.
Speaker: So let's say those one more time.
Speaker: So Jay Bronies versus Ive Jansen.
Speaker: I think I'm going to win.
Speaker: You think Marshall is going to win.
Speaker: You pick the underdog.
Speaker: The Honnold Wraiths against the Nifty Swifties.
Speaker: You picked yourself to win.
Speaker: And I also picked you to win on that one.
Speaker: So that one is we're both picking the favorite.
Speaker: Jeff's Wildcats against the 7th level Dwarf.
Speaker: I said that Jeff's Wildcats was going to run away with it.
Speaker: You said you think 7th level Dwarf is going to take that on.
Speaker: And finally, Mark's Majestic Marauders, you know, this one is the lock, right?
Speaker: Mark's got this game.
Speaker: You're saying, no, no way it's going to be Libby.
Speaker: Well, we'll see.
Speaker: We'll see next week on how we do.
Speaker: But Sarah, I want to thank you for coming on to the podcast today.
Speaker: I hope everybody's enjoyed having you on.
Speaker: And we'll see you guys next week.
Speaker: Enjoy the games.
Speaker: Don't forget tomorrow night's game.
Speaker: It's a Thursday night game.
Speaker: Let's see.
Speaker: Who's playing tomorrow night?
Speaker: I'm going to take a second here and look.
Speaker: Sarah, who's playing tomorrow night on Thursday?
Speaker: Quick.
Speaker: Come on.
Speaker: Come on, help me out.
Speaker: The Giants and the 49ers.
Speaker: So all you people that you've got those Giants player, we named a whole bunch of them.
Speaker: And the 49ers, make sure to get those starters in before tomorrow.
Speaker: And then otherwise, have a great time on Sunday watching football.
Speaker: And we'll talk to you next week.
Speaker: Thanks, Jake.
Speaker: Bye, Sarah.
