00:01:49

I think you're okay right now. Okay. this is This is live recording for you. um Yeah, we're going to start the show off this week with a show and tell, but it's one-sided because i don't have anything.
00:02:00
Speaker
But yeah yeah, Kevin does have something awesome, so show and tell.
00:02:07
Speaker
So many geeky things that we could pull off from the shell We've been collecting shit for years and now we're whipping it out So it's time to showcase all the money that we wasted well C'est la vie, c'est la vie, old folks, this geek club show we're too
00:02:32
Speaker
Yeah, you had this last week, you forgot it in your car. So this week you're going to show it. It came out a couple weeks ago.
00:02:41
Speaker
Back to the Future in 4K Steelbook Collector's Edition. The huge box set that I had pre-ordered and cancelled. It's got this nice little latch you do.
00:02:53
Speaker
Magnetic latch. You open it up.
00:02:59
Speaker
You get the license plate.
00:03:06
Speaker
skills and shit from the movie.
00:03:11
Speaker
I haven't opened this yet, so let's see. It's the Gibson guitar. Nice.
00:03:26
Speaker
This will look good on the shelf, I i suppose. Yeah, it will. Yeah. I didn't get to wait a little bit take it out, but it does come with a guitar pick. Seems a little fragile, so I'm just going to wait. Yes, it looks like it. Take it out.
00:03:37
Speaker
Oh, streamer watch anytime. got to give those to someone. Oh, look at this. Number 2208 out of 5,585. Nice. Zone limited. And visual history book.
00:03:49
Speaker
five thousand five hundred and eighty five nice so limitedmit and
00:03:58
Speaker
ah visual history book vaccine stuff
00:04:05
Speaker
and the steelbook itself yeah flux capacitor that's pretty damn cool oh yeah and as i told you before we were going on i do have another thing since you know somebody's got to pick up the slack when you know all the sharks aren't dropping somebody else has to take them so i also got this steel book which will be the last time i buy these set of movies ever i remember i remember showing you that steel book and said that's a pretty damn cool set because it's a whole entire dark knight trilogy yeah new bonus features everything yep and i'd gotten uh them on 4k uh two christmases ago yeah but
00:04:49
Speaker
i just couldn't Not in Steel. You need the Steelbook. I've been on a run for Steelbooks, especially with the Back to the Future one. oh oh yeah But now to be done for a bit, I think, with sets. um yeah there is Those two combined set me back a bit.
00:05:05
Speaker
But yeah, very cool sets. Very happy with both of them. um And yeah, next time you'll bring something or two. Yeah, probably ah beginning of December we'll have some stuff. but um Let's talk about what we

Stephen King Universe Insights

00:05:18
Speaker
watched this week. There is a show on television right now that I am enamored by I've been watching videos on YouTube breaking down the whole Stephen King universe of it and how they're interconnected because this show has a lot of connections to Stephen King's whole library of books and the big big connection is The Shining, which we talked about
00:05:38
Speaker
Dick Halloran being a part of this show. But we're also getting a history lesson of Derry, history lesson of where Pennywise came from. um And this episode, the beginning of it was great.
00:05:51
Speaker
Join the circus in 1908, which we're going to be seeing in full form. in season three, but we did get a little prequel of what we're going to be seeing. Um, I have a feeling we're probably going to be seeing the one in the 1930s as well.
00:06:03
Speaker
Um, with the whole gun, the gun fight in the middle of town and Pennywise being in the middle of it, that'll be a part of this somewhere in a flashbacks. Now, I'm wondering um if they're including a lot of stuff from Stephen King's universe because of the show Castle Rock, which is basically all of his universes together in one show was canceled. So now they're just using ideas they didn't get to use for that show in this show.
00:06:29
Speaker
Well, not only not only is that, but there is precedent of Dick Howard. I guess he's in the book. I don't remember him being in the book. There is a mention of him in it. That's why Stephen King and Castle Rock, his books do that all the time.
00:06:43
Speaker
Well, the big connection is Dark Tower because Dark Tower connects everything. Yes. um It's like his way of being interconnected in the multiverse. But um that failed in the movies. So this is kind of another way of getting a bootleg in on the on the on the side through it.
00:06:59
Speaker
um Because if you think about it, there's a lot of a lot of his books have Darius Center. Dreamcatcher, which is a shitty movie, it came out like 2000. um It's set in Derry, and there is an alien in Derry that they're hunting down that's killing them.
00:07:15
Speaker
um There's always talk of, me is that really the alien from it or is that connected to the alien of It? Because it's set in Derry, there's aliens, so on and so so forth. Yep.
00:07:26
Speaker
um But as you can see in the pictures here, visually stunning, of course, Andy Machete has a cameo as one of the circus performers in the and the in the weirdo funhouse in thats in the circus.
00:07:40
Speaker
um What else we got?
00:07:43
Speaker
Photos of, as we're loading, photos of the flashback to the circus. We see the clown. I'm guessing this is the clown that Pennywise gets the makeup and everything inspired by. um but we also see the Indian woman and a child in the beginning of this episode, 1908.
00:08:00
Speaker
And at this point, the it entity is confided in a forest. And it cannot go out of this forest. um We don't know much more about that yet, but we do know the Indians know all about it.
00:08:14
Speaker
But yeah, Indian girl. kid We find out later on that the kid is James Ramir, who, of course, is Dexter's father. um He's a general or some something for the army. He comes back to Derry.
00:08:26
Speaker
He doesn't remember anything, but he gets into town. and Everybody knows the story of It. When somebody leaves the town, they kind of forget everything that happens in Derry. They come back to the town, and everything floods back to them. We knew that from the It movie that came out in the 90s and the new ones that came out in in the teens, 20-teens.
00:08:43
Speaker
um But you also see this... This entity in the woods and he takes over this ah circus performer in the mind of James Ramirez as a kid um and and harasses him and attacks him. I can't remember what they call him. Slykey man. i can't remember what they call them. But ah yeah, he's some for some reason confided in the woods, confined in the woods and they can't and he hasn't left yet.
00:09:04
Speaker
So I don't know if we're going get a continuation of that story in this season or we're not going to get that until 1908. But eventually he's going break through, probably join the circus. But yeah, we'll have to wait and see.
00:09:17
Speaker
And the end of the episode, there's a lot of haunting stuff going on, a lot of possessing. um And we see the very first glimpse of Pennywise. um And this whole scene at the very end when they're in the cemetery was awesome.
00:09:30
Speaker
Very, very, very much the horror show the the horror element that we love from Annie Machete with it is in this episode. um And we see a picture at the very end and they say, it's a clown. So that's going to set up next episode on Sunday, which you cannot wait for.
00:09:47
Speaker
um i know you watched this and i ain't watched it too. I don't know if you watched today's episode. I did watch it. I have not. I haven't either. I watch started watching it. I had to stop watching it. but Pluribus.
00:09:59
Speaker
um This is on Apple TV.

Vince Gilligan's Pluribus on Apple TV

00:10:01
Speaker
And it's Vince Gilligan's new show. begin and After Breaking Bad, after Better Call Saul. um I can't remember her name. I know she's in Better Call Saul. And I know she's the lead of this show.
00:10:14
Speaker
Yeah, I'm blank on it. Raya Stehorn. Yeah, that's it. Yeah, that's it. I don't want to give too much away because it is sci-fi. There's a mystery to it. It very sci-fi.
00:10:27
Speaker
There's a big event that happens in the first episode that has never been done in anything. Never been done. i don't even want to give away what it is. um And it's definitely one of those shows go in blank, don't see a trailer, don't see anything.
00:10:40
Speaker
It helps that there wasn't many trailers for this. And in the trailers that there were... It helps that didn't know about it until people talked about how good it was. Most of the trailers were just images. like It was just moving images. There was nothing about the but the arc of the season, what was going on in the story, nothing.
00:10:58
Speaker
So everybody went in blank and finding out how sci-fi it really was and this cool thing. i don't even want to talk about it. I do want to talk about it, but I don't because it's way too early. um Watch it.
00:11:08
Speaker
It's on Apple TV. Definitely worth it. um There are three episodes in right now. The third episode came out today. um Very much worth it. um And a new documentary came out. don't know if you had a chance to watch it or not on Netflix. eddie ah Becoming Eddie or Being Eddie.
00:11:24
Speaker
I did not. um Very good. Very funny. Eddie Murphy, um say what you will about all the shitty movies, all the roles he's taken in the last 20 or 30 years. He is still naturally funny.
00:11:35
Speaker
Um, there's a scene at the end of this where he takes out two puppets of, uh, Bill, uh, Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor. And he starts doing a puppet, puppet act during the credits. It's funny as hell. I lost it towards the end of this. Um, talking about his life, talking about growing up, he talks a lot about his brother.
00:11:53
Speaker
You can obviously see tell he misses him terribly. Um, um, Charlie, who was on Chappelle's show. They even talk talk about his true, ah true Hollywood stories. And Chappelle's on there. Chris Rock's on here.
00:12:05
Speaker
Every major black comedian from the last 25 years is on here, 30 years. um And then Eddie does just opens himself up. He's very, very quiet individual.
00:12:16
Speaker
um He's not really the partier that everybody thinks he is or everybody expects him to be, even though he was so big in the 80s. He wasn't into cocaine. He wasn't into drinking. He's very, very clean that way.
00:12:27
Speaker
And the one thing I took from this documentary His house in L.A. is fucking gigantic. You think? That's Shrek money for you.
00:12:38
Speaker
um All that money came from Shrek. That's where all most of his... Majority of his earnings came from. Because it's just so big. but ah Great documentary on Netflix. About now about two hours long.
00:12:49
Speaker
ah Just a two hour movie. But it's really, really good. um move and movie I would not necessarily say it's

Movie Reviews: Playdate and Frankenstein

00:12:55
Speaker
good. um But I love... Alan Richson, of course, is Reacher.
00:13:01
Speaker
Kevin James I can give give or take with, but a new movie came out called Playdate. It's on Amazon Prime. came out a couple days ago. For what it is on paper, it's stupid as hell.
00:13:13
Speaker
However, Alan Richson is funny. and i know um What was some moment's Blue Mountain State? Have you ever watched that? I know everybody talks about it. I watched it when it was on TV. Yeah.
00:13:26
Speaker
Yeah, i never watched it. I haven't seen an episode, but I know he's hilarious in I've seen clips of him. I've heard yeah how great he is in it. And there's a movie. Yeah, movie two. um But he he goes back to comedy, but he's also Reacher in this, so it's kind of a mix of the two.
00:13:42
Speaker
um Overall, decent movie. Probably three and a half out of five. um I laughed a bunch of times. Just one of those great movies, just to laugh at. um It's on Amazon Prime if you want to watch it called Playdate.
00:13:54
Speaker
Um, and finally this week, we have a big movie to review. The one that came out on Netflix last weekend, um, Frankenstein. This movie is very, very good. I love Guillermo del Toro.
00:14:05
Speaker
Um, visually stunning director. I've loved him from the beginning of whatever I've seen from him. Um, Hellboy, of course, is the big one for me. Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth is great. um I always call it Lady in the Water, but that's not what it's called. It's the one that he won the Oscar for.
00:14:21
Speaker
um i don't remember the name of it, but it's very good. That same ah conversation happened in the Discord. We couldn't think of it. and We could only think of Lady in the Water. Yeah. like that's all Similar title.
00:14:33
Speaker
M. Night. Yeah, it's similar title, but it's it's definitely not the same movie, but yeah um it's it's it's very good. and He's done he's done a few other ones. I can't remember off the top of my head that have been very good.
00:14:44
Speaker
Visually stunning director. He creates everything in a notebook, draws every single picture, every visual you're going to see. um This Frankenstein monster, different from other ones we've seen in the past. if this This story has been told hundreds of times on film, television, cartoons.
00:15:01
Speaker
but told everywhere. um Jacob Elardi from Euphoria plays the monster. Oscar Isaac plays Dr. Frankenstein. um Christoph Waltz plays the guy who kind of finances is his whole funding for every scientific thing he's doing to create the Frankenstein monster.
00:15:20
Speaker
and mayer Maya Goth plays um Elizabeth, the female lead of this story, um I'm not sure how close it is to Mary Shelley's story, um I'm not sure how how close it is to the lore of Frankenstein, I mean, it's different than the movies I've seen in the past, of course, the universal monster probably being the big one that I talked about last week, but Overall, great movie. And it's on Netflix you want to watch Very good. Yeah. Probably a four out of five for me, I think. Yeah, four out of five.
00:15:50
Speaker
um Yeah, gave it an yeah eight out ten. So, yeah, four out of five. Yeah. um Yeah, very, very good. um With that being said, let's get into the news.
00:16:08
Speaker
And it's not a news segment. let the trailer round it.
00:16:12
Speaker
A bunch of trailers this week, but we're going to be getting a bunch of trailers in the next coming upcoming weeks. um I think going to be getting Odyssey is going to be the big

Toy Story 5 and Electronic Takeover

00:16:21
Speaker
one in a couple weeks here, but maybe Avengers 2. We'll talk all about that later. but Got a brand new trailer for Toy Story 5, and we know what the story is for Toy Story 5.
00:16:31
Speaker
um The toys are being taken over by electronics and the LeapPad tablet. The kid gets his a birthday gift or whatever gift it is, um is taking Storm in this family.
00:16:44
Speaker
And the toys are looking on like, oh, God, we've been we've been taken over by electronics. um Very simple premise. um Perfect timing for, I guess, this type of story to be told with Toy Story.
00:16:58
Speaker
Um, everybody says this probably shouldn't have happened. Toy Story 4 was a great ending to this franchise. Yeah. Toy Story 3 was a great ending. Yeah, Toy Story 3. But that just tells you how great this franchise is.
00:17:11
Speaker
Um, yeah. But yeah, Toy Story 5 coming out in June. Um, brand new trailer trailer for a Timothee Chalamet starring movie called Marty Supreme. i't know if you saw the trailer for this. It's one of the Safdie brothers.
00:17:24
Speaker
The other Safdie brother. um it has played in front smashing machine for me okay gwyneth paltrow um tyler the creator a few other people familiar people i think french rusher is in but yeah it's ah it's definitely it comes out on christmas it's definitely one of those um dramatic uh movies they're trying to get oscar buzz for but timothy shall we plays this uh kind of kid in in uh i want to say brooklyn or new york somewhere he's got the brooklyn accent but Yeah, comes out Christmas.
00:17:56
Speaker
i' Got a 50-second trailer for The Devil Wears Prada with Anne Hathaway and what's her name? On an elevator going up to or going up to work. Comes out in May. Taking over the date for Avengers.
00:18:08
Speaker
Coming out May first So it's going to be the beginning of the box block ah box office season next year. um And trailer for Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy movie.
00:18:19
Speaker
um They're going doing basically the the video game Mario Galaxy, turning it into a movie. Rosalina is going be a part of it, played by Brie Larson. um The Safdie brother who directed The Smashing Machines can be playing Bowser Jr. so they're going bringing Bowser Jr. Looks like they're using elements from ah Galaxy 1 and 2 and Odyssey. Odyssey, yep.
00:18:43
Speaker
probably some more Mario Kart, and I'm guessing that would mean the third movie would be Smash Bros.? Possibly. I don't know. um There's also another character we're going to talk about wasn't in the trailer, but there's marketing, um and it was also hinted to the an at the end of mario Super Mario Bros., this character showing up. He's going to playing a big part of this, um and that could also bring it into this Super Mario World.
00:19:06
Speaker
So there's going to be a lot of stuff to tell in this story we'll talk about when the movie, closer when it comes out, when we get into the trailers and stuff, but um Brand new trailer for SpongeBob SquarePants. No, we're not into it.
00:19:18
Speaker
But they turned SpongeBob from a cartoon into a 3D movie. um This comes out at Christmas time as well. Probably going to be the the block box office winner of this Christmas, I'm sure. but yeah boy. um martin Now, this Christmas?

Fallout Season 2 Trailer Launch

00:19:32
Speaker
Yes. Or next Christmas? This Christmas, yeah. ah avatar Between that and Avatar, doing that in avaaria um Monarch Legacy of Monsters Season 2. You watched the first season this on Apple TV?
00:19:44
Speaker
Yes. I have not. But they are bringing in King Kong. um They showed that in the trailers this week. A brand new trailer for season two. um it was really everything after Everything after minus one is just so mid from these right American Godzilla movies. I didn't even watch i didn't even watch the last Godzilla vs. Kong. I don't think I ever watched it because I loved Godzilla minus one. Actually, I haven't either.
00:20:08
Speaker
Yeah, I don't think I did. yeah i just Because it came out the same exact time as Godzilla minus one. I yeah had no interest. um And Marnock Legacy of Monsters comes out in February, Season 2 on Apple TV.
00:20:22
Speaker
um And finally this week, the trailer for Fallout Season 2. This comes out December, middle of December, December 17th. um And we see the very first glimpse of Macaulay Culkin. playing some character in this show. No, no, no idea who he's playing, but, um, yeah, that's him right there. And that's the poster.
00:20:38
Speaker
Um, so yeah, I cannot wait for that. Love the first season. haven't, I'm not going in blind because i haven't played the game. I know they're in new Vegas. Um, and know that's a big, big game for the franchise. So yeah.
00:20:49
Speaker
um Box office last weekend, Predator Badlands, $40 million. um Regretting you, still don't know what it is in the third week, $7.1. And Black Phone 2 in the fourth week, number three, with $5.3 million.
00:21:03
Speaker
um Predator Badlands had a $15.6 million dollars domestic opening day, highest ever for a Predator film. Earned $40 million domestically open, highest ever for a Predator film.
00:21:16
Speaker
And $80 million worldwide, so the highest... ever for any predator film for all those accolades um cannot wait to see it everybody's saying it's great um chrissy starring sydney sweeney did not know even came out last week and it did but it only made 1.3 million dollars in the box office um top 10 worst opening weekends ever for a film in over 2 000 theaters averaged about 646 dollars Which is not that good for a weekend. um But there was no promotion.
00:21:46
Speaker
No idea it was even out. And I remember hearing about the movie months ago, but there was no promotion. They're blaming her becoming a fucking Republican or some bullshit. Yeah, blaing online yeah I saw that. Yeah, I saw that too. I don't know.
00:21:59
Speaker
I saw that too. It's such a divide in this country right now. it's I saw it. For a Sidney Sweeney-led vehicle like this, like there was no promotion. Right. Like, at all. I don't even know.
00:22:10
Speaker
I don't even know what the box, I don't know what the Rotten Tomatoes is. I have no idea what people are saying about ah it. It's not good. Okay. It could be part of it. I think it's a good audience. It's terrible.
00:22:21
Speaker
um Critics are like 60. Audience like 90. I know that people are fans that are fans of Chrissy do not like her portrayal of the character. I guess that's what I've heard.
00:22:32
Speaker
um And I have no idea about the story or anything it. Michael Jackson biopic. In the first 24 hours had 116 million views on YouTube and online.

Funko Pops Financial Troubles

00:22:43
Speaker
um Most of viewed energy for any music biopic trailer in history. um And the trailer does look great. It was only like a minute long, but it was great for what we saw. And I just cannot wait to see more of this. Funko Funko Pops, we both have some um Sales are down 14%. Debt is piling up.
00:23:01
Speaker
And the company says there's substantial doubt it could keep operating in 2026. So yeah, they're about $145 million dollars in debt. um They're trying to reduce the inventory by 20% to 25%. They prioritize premium releases, stuff that's more ah valuable, more rare. um And they yeah are are warning about a potential bankruptcy next year. So that sucks. I was going to say, I mean, when you license out literally everything, matter the popularity, that's going to eventually catch up to you, I feel like.
00:23:33
Speaker
It's everything, from Disney, which is big, Netflix, everything is huge, so yeah. Paramount Plus announced an increase of streaming. I get it free with Walmart.
00:23:45
Speaker
plus so I don't have to pay for it but they're going up $1.8.99 for the Essential and with the Showtime version $13.99 it went up $12.99
00:23:56
Speaker
um And the yearly plan going up to $139 for premium. That's kind of steep. But, yeah, then we knew streaming is getting there. Disney Plus and Hulu hit 195.7 million subscribers this week.
00:24:11
Speaker
I guess it's combined for the two now. there' That's how they're figuring it out. But, ah yeah, um pretty big number. I don't know what Netflix is at anymore. But, yeah, yeah they're definitely number two. Close to it. Maybe Amazon Prime. I don't know who's who's who on that. But, yeah.
00:24:25
Speaker
I saw this story. going to bring it up, but did you know Allison Mack's husband, Allison Mack from Smallville, her husband was a former neo-Nazi?

Allison Mack's Controversial Ties

00:24:34
Speaker
I did not. I saw that this week. I wanted to bring it up.
00:24:37
Speaker
ah Supposedly, he's former. He's reformed. um He was in prison, reformed, and I guess he's not racist anymore. Okay. um She's also blaming joining that cult on the girl who played Lana Lang in Smallville. She's the one that actually enticed her to join that group. Did you hear that this week?
00:24:56
Speaker
This week? Yes, I saw that. I did see that, yep. i do She's got a podcast now. she's she's talking She's talking a lot now that she's out of prison. but ah And um about him actuallyly not being racist anymore.
00:25:09
Speaker
Racism is taught. It is not born. And you know it's born racism. So I believe in reformed racism, yes. But yeah, possibly she's fucking psycho by the way. And she's doing a talk about it. And like, yeah, she's, I wonder if she's going to be on night inside of you.
00:25:26
Speaker
Um, what's his name's podcast. Cause that show is literally about mental illness and mental health.
00:25:33
Speaker
Yeah, talk about like ah childhood Hollywood sweetheart. Somebody that you thought had a lot of potential to just throw it down the toilet.
00:25:44
Speaker
That's the weirdest thing that happened was with her whole life. And and joining the cult, it was sex cult, it was also... torturing women, I guess. I have no idea what was going on there. was crazy.
00:25:56
Speaker
um We talk about AI all the time. and Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine are the latest actors to ink deals with AI-generated versions of their self-in-rolls.

AI-Generated Likenesses for Actors

00:26:06
Speaker
In voiceover roles.
00:26:09
Speaker
More of it has to do with protecting their legacy. um Mostly because like they just don't want AI to be taken. they want they want I guess this AI company came in and are treating... theyre They can be trusted, I guess, is what they're trying to promote.
00:26:27
Speaker
um then bring Bring your... Well, right, like... to a to a to an extent but what's going to happen 20 years from now when michael cain's gone um and they have to make all the decisions on how they're going to promote that character 20 years from now i don't know there's a lot of morality problems with ai especially with this and even even somebody like um james earl jones who gave his ai likeness months ago yeah i guess his family did months ago um 20 years from now what was good now maybe he looked at weird 20 years from now. Who knows?
00:27:02
Speaker
So, it's kind of having to trust the company in charge of all that to be in charge. But we'll have to wait and see how that turns out 20, 30 years from now. But...

Tribute to Cleto from Jimmy Kimmel Live

00:27:11
Speaker
um Rest in peace to Cleto.
00:27:14
Speaker
um This is Jimmy Kimmel's close friend. He was a band leader on Jimmy Kimmel's show. i was a huge fan of the Jimmy Kimmel show when I first moved to Florida 25 years ago. I used to watch it every night.
00:27:25
Speaker
um The first like season of that show, he had guests every week. like He'd have a sit-in host for the week co-hosts. remember Eminem was on there. Snoop Dogg was the big one.
00:27:36
Speaker
He'd also have an open bar, so the guests would be on there drunk off their ass. But Cleto was always a part of the show from the beginning. um That's the one thing you learn from Howard Stern and David Letterman, bringing in his friends to be part of the be part of the TV show.
00:27:49
Speaker
I get his Uncle Frank on there who passed in the last 10 years. Guillermo, of course, was his security that he brought in. um to be like kind of the announcer guy. um But yeah, Cleto died this week. He was his best friend also. Friend since they were like eight or nine years old.
00:28:04
Speaker
um So it was sort of liver disease or something. but um he's worked with He's worked with Paula Abdul. He's worked live with a lot of bands in the 80s when he was growing up, before before Jimmy Kimmel became famous.
00:28:19
Speaker
um So yeah, rest in peace to Cleto. um poker face canceled by peacock um i don't know much about the show i didn't watch it i know there was two seasons um and ryan johnson first argument great in the second season they didn't promote at all it was weird like the first season was everywhere and then the second season like they promoted the up until release then they just stopped promoting it Ryan Johnson's show, in charge of it he's shopping it around for a third season.
00:28:50
Speaker
um And they're thinking about bringing Peter Dinklage to take over the role of the main character that was played by, yeah what's her name? um Natasha Lyonne. Natasha Lyonne, yeah.
00:29:02
Speaker
But yeah, I haven't seen it. I know it's on Peacock if you want to watch that. very good. Brett Goldstein has a new comedy project called this Escorted. um It's going to Prime Video. ah It's going to eight-episode straight-to-series show.

00:30:04
Speaker
um I don't know. We're a couple months out of from that show. What are your thoughts couple months out from Alien Earth? Were you happy with how it turned out? Yeah, i kind of feel I kind of feel that way too.
00:30:16
Speaker
I was on a high in the beginning. Yeah, I was on a high in the beginning, but very low in the beginning, at the end. but yeah yeah You know, with the wait and see season two, how that continues. Roger Rabbit. The rights for that movie reverted back to the original author, Gary, Gary K. Wolf.
00:30:32
Speaker
um And he already has plans for new projects based off the characters. It's in limbo, I think, with Disney. um And Disney lost the rights to it. He has the rights back. And the big thing they announced this week. Um, is any sequels that we do have to do at least match the quality of the original movie in 19, the 1988 movie, um, has to be as good or better than we did before. And he's also mentioned this week that he's going doing a Jessica rabbit movie based off the character,
00:30:56
Speaker
ah the cartoon hot female character of Roger Rabbit. Not sure it's going to have the same look um as the movie, because it is owned by Disney or whoever did that in the beginning.
00:31:09
Speaker
um But yeah, he did own the rights of the book, so I'll wait and see. um Scary Movie 6 adds Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner to the cast, and a whole bunch of returning characters.
00:31:22
Speaker
cast members too. um join that song Wrong one. ah ah ah Anna Faris coming back, of course, Regina Hall, Marlon Wayans, also now Sean Wayans, the guy who played Doofy coming back.
00:31:37
Speaker
um And of course, the first movie, a lot of the characters from the first second movie are coming back. And a lot of the Wayne's kids are coming back, are coming for the first time too. Chris Elliott from the second one is coming back.
00:31:48
Speaker
Sherry O'Terry, who was on SNL at the time, coming back. So yeah. um I loved the first two scary movies. After that, it fell off after the Wayne's lost control of it.
00:31:59
Speaker
um So we'll have to wait and see how that turns out with the Wayne's coming back to be in charge. um Speaking of coming back, for the final time, Jumanji 4 has begun filming this week. All the main characters coming back.
00:32:10
Speaker
um And it's confirmed to be the final installment. The Rock confirmed that this week. So, yeah. Sabrina Carpenter is going starring in a reimagined Universal Alice in Wonderland

Sabrina Carpenter's Alice in Wonderland Role

00:32:22
Speaker
musical. It's going to be the first time she's starred in a big screen movie. She was in Girl Meets World. Girl Meets World. That's where she's going to start.
00:32:29
Speaker
Now she's a big pop star. Yeah. To see her like sexualized now when like I've been following her on Instagram since she was fucking 12. Yeah. yeah Yeah. It's weird. Very strange, but she's huge.
00:32:40
Speaker
ah Every, every, every, every teeny bopper. God, sound old saying that. Every millennial. Basically any Taylor Swift fan likes her. Every Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift. Yep.
00:32:51
Speaker
um Speaking of new movies, um in Zootopia 2, Roman Reigns and CM Punk are replaying zebra buddy cops. And that's their characters on the right there. That's them at, I believe, War Games last year, Survivor Series.
00:33:05
Speaker
Jesus. Ralph Innocent, after his run as Galactus, is going to be joining ah Robert Eggers' Werewolf movie, currently in production, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily Rose Depp.
00:33:17
Speaker
Excited for that. Got a brand new poster for Avatar, Fire, and Ash. Say what you will about these movies, and I say a lot of bad things about them, visually stunning. Even the visuals, just the pictures alone, visually stunning. Yep.
00:33:29
Speaker
um he takes i mean It should be. It takes long enough to make them. Comes out December 19th. We'll talk more about that. And the running time being listed for 3 hours and 15 minutes. The longest film so far in the franchise.
00:33:43
Speaker
Aren't they all around 3 hours anyways? They're about 3 hours, yeah. yeah um No intermission, I'm hearing. i'm Usually in a big movie like this will have one. But no intermission. It's going to be straight 3 hours 15 minutes.
00:33:56
Speaker
um So yeah. um announced today a new Star Trek movie in the works at Paramount. We knew this was going to be happening soon, eventually. yeah eventually um Jonathan gold Goldstein and John da Francis Daly, who's done a whole bunch of stuff, comic book good stuff, are going to in charge writing that.
00:34:13
Speaker
Yeah, they were the team behind... Adventures. Oh, my... Dungeons and Dragons movie, Dungeons and Dragons, yep. Yep. um And Empire. Come out. Brand new article this week on the Odyssey.
00:34:26
Speaker
Brand new posters of the Trojan horse. Very first time seeing that. um I've never seen Troy. I'm going to watch that closer when this movie comes out. um i know that's ah I know that's the basis of this whole story is the the attack on Troy, the Odyssey.
00:34:40
Speaker
yeah Nolan was offered Troy and turned it down to do okay that Pacino movie that took place in Alaska. Oh, Insomnia, right?
00:34:52
Speaker
som Yeah, he turned it down into Insomnia because he wanted to work with Pacino. And then his career took off. Now this is kind of like a kind of like a full circle moment for Chris Nolan, I guess, doing the Odyssey now.
00:35:03
Speaker
um He says he shot over 2 million feet of film for this movie. um entirely and ah entirely captured on IMAX cameras in locations all around the world.
00:35:14
Speaker
um We got the first glimpse of Matt Damon as Odysseus. um We also got a couple glimpses of that. We also got the first glimpse of Maya Goth and Anne Hathaway and Tom Holland in the Empire a magazine coming out this week.
00:35:27
Speaker
So very exciting. We're go be getting a trailer for this before the end of the year. um We're going to be getting a lot of trailers, but this is probably one of the bigger ones. um also a rumor of an avengers trailer uh 52nd kind of like when they did what they did for um um devil wears prada just a quick 52nd trailer like don't forget about us we're still going to be here a year from now i would exceed yeah i would expect that trailer to be out a year from when the movie comes out which i think is sometime in december of next year so probably get an avengers trailer around that time um also said it's with fire nash
00:36:00
Speaker
Yeah, they've already announced it. That's that's been announced. So we're going to begin that and then, yeah. ah This is what I was talking about with the Super Mario trailer. Marketing for the movie came out through Pillsbury Cookies of Yoshi. um it wasn't it He wasn't in the trailer, but that is the Yoshi that was going to be showing up in the movie. That's what he's going to look like.
00:36:22
Speaker
um Also, we got some Super Mario Galaxy. Looks like Old Spice, a body, underarm body deodorant body spray. But, yeah, that's Yoshi coming in. we We saw the glimpse of the egg at the end of...
00:36:35
Speaker
at the end of the first movie, so we knew he was going to be hatched. but That's why I'm thinking that Galaxy will probably a combination of Galaxy, Odyssey, and Super Mario World. but I have a visitor.
00:36:47
Speaker
Big cat. You have a visitor? Yes. This one. This little brat. um You don't need to jump on the keyboard. You stay right here. What else we got this week? Lego.
00:36:59
Speaker
Zelda. lego zelda Teasing a big set coming out sometime in 2026 with Ganon's shadow over Link and Zelda.
00:37:10
Speaker
um I kind of wait to see this. If it's a Hyrule Castle, it'll be awesome. um yeah I have no idea what it's going to be, but it sounds awesome. um Oscar Isaac says he's opening to returning to Star worlds Wars, but he's doubtful.
00:37:22
Speaker
after the whole Disney thing and how would they suspended Jimmy Kimmel and all that. Um, you know, we'll have to wait and see on that. Um, he is open opening to it, but, uh, he's not, go say and he doesn't want to succumb to fascism. So we'll see. Um, the official star Wars insider magazine. I, I used to have subscriptions to that back in the day.
00:37:41
Speaker
Um, it's going to end his current run in 2026 is going end it. Final two issues are going to released early next year. um so rest in peace to that magazine, rest in peace to all magazines. Um, Newspapers are soon to follow.
00:37:53
Speaker
um The Hollywood Bowl. Going to be dedicated to John Williams. We talk about John Williams a lot. He hasn't died yet. um We have talked about him ad nauseum, but that's what it's going to look like. The John Williams stage. um and every The reason why they're doing at the Hollywood Bowl is every year he has this huge concert where everybody shows up with these lightsabers. I don't think he does it anymore. I think somebody else does it. He shows up at the end kind of waves to the audience and leaves but he used to conduct the whole entire like run of his movies not just star wars but everything be a whole concert all of his movies um and they show the video on the screen as you can see there and he played the orchestra underneath it which sounds awesome i know a lot of people i've heard people go to that talk about and how awesome it is um but yeah they named the stage after him that he performs that and it's called the john williams stage that's kind of cool um and some new swags
00:38:48
Speaker
Swag! Stuff we all get. Come on, son. You know what that's right. Talking about steelbooks earlier, we got a brand new American Psycho one. ah Looks like they're recreating the Huey Lewis and the news covers.
00:39:04
Speaker
yeah With the Psycho movie. That's kind of cool. um And Knives Out. I know you're a big fan of that movie coming out in steel book. yeah um And Dogma. Dogma is the big one. This movie is the very first time on digital.
00:39:15
Speaker
Very first time on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K. um And this is going me a big release coming out. I believe they're already on pre-order coming out sometime next month. I think December 11th.
00:39:27
Speaker
but yeah a huge deal gonna be on digital i think the same day as well so cannot wait for that love dogma um what else we got this week oh yeah all the special features for that too brand new special features too there's some uh physical um release features that are exclusive to the to the set um they're not gonna be on digital as well audio ah new audio commentary 25th anniversary um stuff there's gonna be a whole bunch of cool stuff but A new introduction by Kevin, so on and so forth.
00:39:55
Speaker
so yeah, cannot wait for that. Brand new Funko Pop of Art the Clown and christmas in a Christmas uniform ah from the last movie, I believe. And a brand new Hot Toys figure for Batman The Dark Knight Returns.
00:40:09
Speaker
I know we ah both have mixed feelings about that comic book, but that figure looks fucking awesome. That does look dope. An age-grizzled Batman looks awesome. um but yeah um let's get into some Marvel news of this week uh Black Panther 3 reportedly titled Shadows of Wakanda we're filming sometime next year and Damson Idris has been rumored to take over the covered in role of Black Panther um that rumor has been around for a while this first time we've talked about it i don't I don't think I got a picture of him um but yeah um and
00:40:42
Speaker
DC news of the week. It opened up the week with V for Vendetta. Remember, remember the 5th of November, which was just last week. Um, V for Vendetta is going to be a TV series on HBO. don't know why they just didn't announce it on that day.
00:40:55
Speaker
Cause I feel like they would have known by then. Yeah. They waited until this week, but, uh, James Gunn, Peter Safran in charge. Um, DC studio is going to executive produce it. Um, so yeah, I, I love the movie.
00:41:08
Speaker
Never read the graphic novel. Perfect time probably when this series comes out to dive into that. I think so, yeah. Yep. So, yeah. Also, Alan Richland talking about originally wanting to play Batman and confirms that he's talked with DCU, James Gunn, for a messier role.
00:41:24
Speaker
um So, yeah, I don't know why what he's hinting to. yeah don't Yeah, I've heard that. I've heard other ones too. Villains. You have wait and see. um He's funny. He's great. Great actor.
00:41:36
Speaker
um Built like a brick shithouse. I said that from the very beginning. So yeah, I'll have to wait see. um And Sergeant Rock. Haven't heard much about it, but the big rumor is going be filming sometime in the spring.
00:41:46
Speaker
um Colin Farrell, Mike Fiest, who was in Challengers, right? And David Johnson, who was, of course, in Romulus. So we love him in Alien Romulus and The Long Walk. um join that cast so i'll have to wait see if that that still happens uh so behind the scenes looks of dia dynamic duo this is the movie in the dcu that is kind of half animation half live action half claymation yeah kind of a whole bunch of we film filming techniques but so behind the scenes of them filming it currently um yeah it looks like they're doing a lot of stop motion for this so yeah we'll have to wait and see
00:42:21
Speaker
um And Jimmy Olsen. This wasn't the final thing I had to talk about. It was until the story broke yesterday. oh you're back. Good thing. I did not want to talk about this until you came back because you just left.
00:42:35
Speaker
Yep. Jimmy Olsen, making a TV series on him. um It's going to be called DC Crime. It's going to be starring Skylar Gazondo, who was Jimmy Olsen in the movie. ah first season see and that First season is going to be focused on Gorilla Grodd.
00:42:51
Speaker
Of course, ah mostly known for Supervillain and the Flash. But it's going to be sort of a... is It reminds me a lot of... that Everybody's comparing it to The Office, but reminds me more of like Unsolved Mysteries or one of those... Right, right. show One of those cop shows that's on like Saturday night, like cops, or yeah um America's Most Wanted. It kind of reminds me more of that.
00:43:11
Speaker
And Gorilla Grodd's going to be the big big villain they're going be talking about. But every episode seems like... is going to be ta tackling a new character. So this a great way of opening up the universe to more villains and more characters than we haven't seen in the film.
00:43:26
Speaker
For me, my biggest drawback from Superman, besides the fact that the beginning feels a little bit chopped up, like a TikTok video, um is the fact that we didn't get more of the Daily Planet cast and crew.
00:43:39
Speaker
um So you can stretch them out by doing stuff like this, and then they won't have to necessarily be in the next Superman movie as much as people might want them to be, because you've got this show, and like you said, it helps branch out the universe. Can't wait. i yeah.
00:43:52
Speaker
Yeah, I can't wait either. um And a Griller Grot, of course, we've seen him in Creature Commandos. um I remember that was a flashback or what that was, but he just was with CRC. So yeah, we'll have to wait see. We'll have to wait and see how that turns out.
00:44:04
Speaker
Finally in news, that was going the end until this news broke a couple days ago, but Brainiac.

Brainiac as Villain in DCU Superman

00:44:09
Speaker
Revealed as the villain for James Gunn's DCU Superman. And the most unsurprising news of the week.
00:44:15
Speaker
However, we've got to talk about it because this is a character that both of us have wanted to see on film for a very long time. He's been on the small screen, he's been on animated, never been on the big screen, and it's probably the number one Superman villain that we want to see.
00:44:29
Speaker
um And it was all all but confirmed months ago when when he put out the script picture, the brain right on the front of it. But this came from the source of The Wrap, which is a big online publication. But ah yeah, James Gunn hasn't talked about it yet. has He hasn't actually mentioned the article or anything. He hasn't actually opened word about it. um He seems like he's doing a better job of staying offline.
00:44:53
Speaker
Probably a good idea. He talks way too much. Yeah. That's that's his big downfall. does talk way too much. hys up Hypes up stuff way too much. um yes But yeah, that's it for our show this week. Next week, episode four of Dairy.
00:45:06
Speaker
It's my favorite thing on television right now. Pluribus is great too. We're going to watch that and about it. both so three Episode three came out today. ah comes out every Friday if anybody wants to watch that. um The American Revolution.
00:45:18
Speaker
Ken Burns. I wanted to mention the name. He did the Civil War documentary. It came out like 20 years ago. uh comes out on pbs this weekend i'm gonna try to watch some of that and talk about it because i love the revolutionary war i love documentaries like that like the time most series again i hear that's great too yeah it paul yeah um on tuesday i know we talked about doing it on the podcast the raven effect the raven documentary comes out on itunes i believe it's the only way of getting it but if we can procure a copy of that we should talk about it next week
00:45:49
Speaker
Yeah. um The movie that everybody's talking about, the animated movie on Netflix that everybody's talking about... um In Your Dreams. Everybody who's seen it says it's amazing.
00:46:00
Speaker
um I have no idea. It comes out, I believe, today on Netflix. um It's a big, huge run for Netflix. They reimagined their whole animation department because of this movie. Put new intro and everything else. so um And it's getting rave reviews. So I may watch that. We'll see.
00:46:15
Speaker
I started watching Death by Lightning with Michael Shannon, who's playing James Garfield and... and Nick Offerman. It's okay so far. Very slow. Four episodes on Netflix.
00:46:26
Speaker
May watch that. Not sure. um But yeah. um Also next week... Did you go into that show thinking it wasn't going to be slow? i mean, that's kind of on you. I feel like going into this... Yeah. Not going to be exactly the most fast. Yeah.
00:46:40
Speaker
it's It's... Excitement. It's a political thriller without the thrill. Exactly. Exactly. So... Next week, Wicked for Good comes out. I am devastated. I'm probably not going seeing it because I am at a loss of money right now. um So, yeah. I do want to see it. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, I will see it. We'll talk about it.
00:47:02
Speaker
We'll see if things turn around in the next couple weeks. but um It does come out next week. It's going the big movie of this of the probably the year up until Avatar comes out. um But yeah.
00:47:14
Speaker
Thanks everybody. And we'll talk to you everybody next week. Peace. Peace.
