#STSNation, Welcome to Surviving the Survivor, the show that brings you the #BestGuests in all of #TrueCrime…

In a chilling courtroom showdown, Stephan Sterns — the man accused of raping and murdering 13-year-old Madeline Soto, his girlfriend’s daughter — appeared in court this week fighting to suppress digital evidence that prosecutors say contains years of abuse. Sterns took the stand himself in a rare legal move, claiming police violated his rights when they accessed his phone without a warrant.

The evidence includes hundreds of sexually explicit photos allegedly stored in his Google account and device, but his defense argues he only consented to a limited search. Prosecutors say a factory reset and verbal consent justify the seizure — and they plan to use any guilty verdict in the sex abuse case as an aggravator in the murder trial to seek the death penalty.
