Speaker: The punchline to this story, if I add to this story, the punchline is going to be buried. But I'm going to tell you anyway. So i um so actually i was playing a game that we'll be talking about on an upcoming episode. and Maybe we'll talk about it on this.

Speaker: I'll probably talk about it a little bit, just FYI. Yeah, okay. ah would episode When we start recording. We're recording now, Matt. Whenever we start recording. Okay, well.

Speaker: ah That game that we're going to talk about. I was playing that. And i kept hearing this like this. I don't I don't I don't know what to categorize it as. Can you please demonstrate it? It's just like.

Speaker: Like someone's spitting on you. Well, so that's what initially I was like, what is that? First of all, i was just like, those that sounds a little kind of like. you know, normal house settling, like... um Does it? ah ah Well, at first, right? Like, it it blended into the background, because it was like, it could be a fan pinging, it could be house settling, it could be whatever. I didn't think much of it. yeah And then it it kept going, and it kept being this rhythmic, like... And it would stop for a little bit and start again, and... And I i was like, oh, it's like a dripping sound, maybe.

Speaker: Okay, so you thought it was your sink. So then, no, at that point, as soon as I realized it was ah it might be a dripping sound, I was like, oh, huh, maybe. Maybe I'm dripping. is something Is something leaking somewhere? So I was walking. Yeah, maybe I'm dripping. So I checked everywhere. i stripped down. i spun around in circles. I checked everywhere. it's like, I'm not dripping. I'm glad you weren't dripping. Maybe it's something in my house. So I went and I was looking and I just could not fucking find it. but I narrowed it down to like the space between my front door and the little utility closet that holds my central air.

Speaker: Wow. you were like ah You were like in an adventure game. and Amazing. What's between my door and the little closet that holds my central air is just a small segment of drywall okay that there's nothing there's nothing there. So it's like, oh shit.

Speaker: is something dripping in the wall. I'm going to have to call my landlord and they're going to have to get somebody to like look, break open the wall and look at the pipes. and And I don't actually think there's any pipes over there, but I was like, maybe there is. And I just don't know. So ah yeah I was like trying to narrow it down.

Speaker: And I opened up. and So here's the code. open up the closet and I find this little puck on the ground that's connected to my, ah you know, my central air unit.

Speaker: Mm hmm. And it says something like it's like a flood detector. Whoa. And I'm like moving it around to see, is this the thing making the noise? Because it's coming from down like towards the the floor.

Speaker: Yeah. And was is this the thing that's making the noise? And I tilt it over and the little light on it turns from green to red. And I'm like, ah. And I put it down. I'm like, uh-oh. You detonated it. I closed the closet. Anyway,

Speaker: so I lean down and I'm looking and I notice like a spider web with a little spider on it. And I'm like, oh, there's something trapped in its web. And the spider is going crazy because I'm shining lights and stuff all over this area. So spider web is like, what the fuck is going on? Nobody bothers me back here. what is somebody all of a sudden all up in my shit?

Speaker: But he keeps going to this thing. he It keeps going to this thing. Let's call it a she. She keeps going to this thing she has trapped in her web. And so I start looking closer at it. And I'm like, oh, she must have just caught that. She seems surprised that it's here.

Speaker: Yeah. And it's making this weird jerking motion. This. And by the actually, at this point, I should say, at this point, the the has turned more to like a.

Speaker: Like a little bit more of a clicking noise now that I'm closer to it. yeah So that's that's got me even more curious. i look i'm looking like I'm looking close and Rose says it has a very rhythmic jerking motion, this bug that's caught in the web.

Speaker: So it's a cricket? No. It's making a very rhythmic jerking motion where it's like bending its body in half and and at an interval of like Bend, bend, bend, bend.

Speaker: So I'm listening, I'm looking at this bend, bend, bend, and I'm listening for the sound that's going.

Speaker: Roses, whatever this fucking bug is, when it bends its body, it does it with such force, it makes a clicking noise that I can hear across my entire house.

Speaker: Oh, good job, Spider. Aren't you, like, so glad that you had that spider there to help you capture this weird alien i don't think it would have been making this clicking noise if it hadn't been captured. Well, we don't know that. Spider gave me a mystery to solve. So the code of this story is that today i'm I'm working at from home and I'm just so hot all day.

Speaker: and ah And like it's 90 some degrees outside. It's fucking hot out. And I had to, and i'm I'm car shopping right now. So I had to do things like go outside and clean my, my current car so I could trade it in. And yeah um so I've been going in and out and I've been doing some like chores throughout my day. So i'm like, I'm just moving around a lot. I guess that's why I'm so hot.

Speaker: Yeah. But it, It persists. And after work, I take a little nap and I wake up and I'm drenched in sweat. And I'm like, what the fuck is happening?

Speaker: i go downstairs. I start ah doing some stuff on the computer and I'm like, I'm still so hot. Yeah. Fine. I'll go look at the thermostat. and the thermostat says it's 76 degrees in my house.

Speaker: Okay. Okay. It's best, but it's not sweat worthy. It's not like I'm sweltering, but it's like it's like when I'm under blankets, I'm going to be sweating. And I'm like, why is it? why isn't that That little puck that I turned over, yeah that turned from green to red, huh it's a thing that makes the, if if it detects, it has some water in it, and if it detects water on certain parts of it, it recognizes that the area is being flooded.

Speaker: And so it shuts down the central air unit until god you reset it. So um day I've been languishing in this 90 some degree heat with no air conditioning. if but But you know what?

Speaker: But you know what? What? The heat? That don't bug you. Yeah. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. It's going to be one of those kind of nights.

Speaker: Hi, everybody.

Speaker: the fuck is that welcome to save your game i'm one of your hosts matt a camp and with me is another host who loves loves her some spiders it's pushing up roses hi matt hi so glad you're all here today for this I like spiders. Wait, meet you're glad that i myself am all here, meaning you are warriorrri you were worried that only pieces of me would show up.

Speaker: You were worried that like- You might have been dripping at one point, so I'm not sure. Well, also, some there have been recordings where ah only my arm and half of a leg showed up, and you were like, I can't record like this. and I can't. It's very distracting. I was like, I'm sorry, i I can't bring my mouth to this. So I'm glad that and you are all here.

Speaker: I'm glad that you personally are all here with us tonight. Thank you. For this very special episode of Save Your Game. What's so special about it?

Speaker: There is. you Do you do do lyrics in your head for our theme song? No. Me neither. so Yes, you do. Why would you ask that if you don't?

Speaker: Sometimes I do, but they're not consistent. And often if I'm making up lyrics to a song, it's just like profanity. Great. Great. It's just like penis and butts, boobs and balls and butts. Great. No, mine is way more annoying than that. Mine is just like, burper bur like in my head. That's what I'm doing.

Speaker: You're making automata poetic noises. Super, super inseparable. So I just stay quiet. Well, I stay quiet, too, because you don't need to hear me singing about genitalia while the song coming. I'd rather not. Unless you really feel like you need to share. It's in my heart, and I've got to let it out. This penis in a butt is in my heart, and it's got to come out.

Speaker: That's what my doctor said. That's why sometimes you're not all here with us. you know we're Sometimes you're missing limbs and organs. Yeah, because they're busy.

Speaker: Whatever. Prushing Broses. How are you? What have you what what have you been enjoying lately? ah Not life. Oh. Sorry.

Speaker: Sorry.

Speaker: Hey, dy wait what do you what what's your favorite video game? oh so glad you asked. Actually, it's Grim Fandango. No, let's not open that floodgate. um No, i sorry. Relatable content. I'm kind of sad.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm sorry. But my favorite game is Grim Fandango, and I'm happy to talk about it. what have you been But as there is there something that you have been enjoying, though?

Speaker: Yeah. I think so. Anything, anything, anything at all. Anything. Okay. Well, um if it's okay to talk about, I started the new detective grimoire game because we plan. Yeah. Cause we plan on doing a full review and I think we're, we're definitely, definitely going to have enough to say about it cause it is a longer game.

Speaker: Yeah. But I did start it. I think I'm about an hour and a half, two hours in. um so I'm not going to say much about it, but I'm going to say that I really enjoy this game a lot. yeah I like the setting more than the last setting from Tangle Tower.

Speaker: I like the characters a lot. There's one character in particular who is very like wispy and pretentious. And I just love her. I think she's the absolute cutest. And easily startled.

Speaker: Easily startled. That's true. Which is also pretty adorable. There's there's something about this setting that it is very unique to me, if I may. it's It takes place, since it's water-based, you can assume that, right? Because mermaid mask. This actually takes place on a submarine.

Speaker: But the submarine and like the characters involved in this game, they're giving I don't know if you agree with me, you can tell me. It's giving me like a circus vibe on a submarine. Does that so does you resonate with you? Yes. Well, you yeah you said that to me before I started playing. Oh, planted the seed then But so I don't know that I would have clocked it by myself, but now that I had that as a reference, like that really helped color this game. I mean, I think I would have enjoyed this cast of characters anyway. Yeah.

Speaker: Seeing them as like a circus really, really helped me frame them. they Right? They're really, yeah. I mean, it's a I'm also playing this game, obviously. um And man, these these characters are really interesting.

Speaker: is it Do you feel overwhelmed at the beginning of a detective grimoire game? um Yes, I do. And I have a reason why. Do do you feel over overwhelmed? Yeah, I want to hear yours, though, first. So I think the reason I get a little overwhelmed is because i don't remember how it was in the first game, but in this game and in Tangle Tower, they give you a map with like a lot of unlocked rooms, yeah and they show you this map. And as soon as I see every unlocked room, I i get a little like, I don't know where to start. I'm not really sure what I'm doing. i am I'm following a little bit of a guided play a guided way. Not a playthrough. I'm not following a playthrough. But i I'm like slightly guided by what the characters are saying. Okay. But yeah, i there are a lot of characters. And I mean, to me, there's a lot of characters and there's a lot of rooms. And that kind of overwhelms me a little bit. Yeah, it's interesting because not only are there a lot of rooms and a lot of characters, you can ask every character about every item you find yeah and about every other character. So if you have if you've met the first character, you can only ask them about themselves and you know maybe the two items you found. And then you go to the second character. Now you have two characters to ask them about. And then whatever. Plus the new items you found. And the third character, you have three characters. And then you know even by the time you get to the last character and you have this whole list of characters. I think there's eight to ask them about.

Speaker: and ah And a giant list of items like pieces of evidence you found of which there's like... 40 that I've found so far you know you have to go back to person one and ask them about all the shit you found after you talked to them last right it And so I have this like conflicted feelings because at first it's like that is so much that feels like such a daunting task. But then you think, but that's the gameplay of this game and it's enjoyable.

Speaker: And when it's over, I'm going to wish there had been more. So like I should just chill and enjoy it. But there's something about starting that it feels like there's.

Speaker: I have so much to do and I and i feel overwhelmed rather than I'm excited. And you you have to look at it like this. You are a detective. You're playing a detective. You are interrogating characters. And this is what you would do. You don't have all the info right away. So you do, you know in the real world, have to go back and interrogate more. And not to sound like a broken record and compare everything to like older games, but the the sense of overwhelm is similar to Dagger Amon Ra. you get a notebook and oh my God, it gets so filled. And you have to ask everyone about everything and every item and every location and every other character. and but but that's the game, right? You are interrogating people.

Speaker: And when there's those games where they limit it, that like, oh, you have to you have to be careful about who you ask what because you only have like a certain amount of ah top things you can ask each person about or they might like, I get frustrated and I'm like, oh, why can't I ask everybody but about everything? So I guess I'm just impossible to please. Yeah.

Speaker: But I do understand because I don't know. I don't know if you feel this way, but sometimes when I'm playing a game, I feel like a slight sense of urgency to get to the next point. Me too, yes. Yeah. And so when i'm when I'm interrogating, it doesn't always feel like gameplay to me. Sometimes it feels like I just need to get through this dialogue. So I think we have to like chill out yeah and enjoy this dialogue and pay attention because that's that's detective games. That's yeah a huge element of it.

Speaker: And I think what you're doing is the proper, like, that if you're following the the way that the game is guiding you, that's probably the proper proper path to go on. I'm trying to. I've been systematically, like, going to each room and sign up kind of, like, around in an S pattern. And, like, I'm going to see each room in or in this, you know, systematic order and exhaust all things before I start following, like,

Speaker: the path that the game wants me to take no i'm definitely i'm definitely a little bit guided with it because like you'll get you'll get um like evidence that relates back to a character you just talked to and then you can go back and and like get that all figured out so i haven't even met all the characters yet okay like i'm yeah so i'm still like getting guided through it a little bit And the way that I did it, I definitely had people reference a couple things that I hadn't seen yet.

Speaker: Oh, okay. When they were talking about an object and they were like. And you might have if you they were like like. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. And so somebody's like, not this. I'm just, I'm making ah up a fake example. But, um oh, that flashlight looks a lot like that lantern that he has on his desk.

Speaker: And then I'm like, oh shit. Now I know i should have seen that. I should have, my character is responding as if he's seen that lantern already. And i and he hasn't.

Speaker: and There's not a lot of that. And it's not in a huge, like there's never not been anything that's had ah had a huge effect on my enjoyment or even on like the the continuity of the game. But and I have been like, oh, maybe I should have followed a, But anyway, regardless, I'm really, really enjoying it.

Speaker: um It's so good. oh my gosh. I just I keep reflecting back to the not the Flash game, but the first like Steam game for Detective Grimoire. Yeah.

Speaker: And it was if it's it's not that it was like overtly different, but it felt smaller. It felt smaller. It felt a little more. like juvenile. it And it was fine. I enjoyed it. I remember enjoying that first game. And then Tangle Tower came came out and that was way more detailed. And this is kind of along the same lines. It's just very detailed. It's really good quality. The voice acting is great. voice acting is amazing the voice acting in each game has been amazing but the voice yeah acting in this is particularly amazing and so is the animation the animation great when the character you're talking to the characters is really really good i feel like I've already put a lot of the pieces together but that the mystery is interesting it is interesting yeah this and

Speaker: Each game so far has referenced the previous game. So there's a lot of people you're talking to that have connections to characters you've met in the previous games, which is not to say that you need to, you could play this. This could be your first detective grimoire game and you're not going to be lost at all.

Speaker: I agree. It's just kind of nice. Yes, exactly. i'm I'm excited to keep playing. I'm excited to to to make more progress and to talk to you about it next episode. Detective games. I love them. Detective games. They're the best.

Speaker: Yes. Well, are you going to mention Pokemon or do I have to? want me talk about Pokemon? Not really. i' beat Scarlet. I beat Pokemon Scarlet. Well, there's a...

Speaker: there's a good comparison is because when you when you start a pokemon game you have a whole world to explore you have a whole pokedex to fill up you have all the gyms to fight you have all the and in this game you have all the titan pokemon to explore to find and defeat and you have all the team oh god what's the name of the team Team Rocket? It's not Team Rocket. So every game has something like Team Rocket. Oh, okay. And in this game, Team Star.

Speaker: I was about to Google it. don't like that name. And then remembered they do a little star hand motion when whenever you fight So there's a lot ahead of you when you start the game. there's like ah There's a lot of checkboxes to fill. There's a lot of things that you have to complete.

Speaker: And I don't feel any pressure to do it quickly. That's good. I don't feel overwhelmed. I'm generally just like excited to get going. So I don't know what the difference is between a game like that and an adventure game. but um I don't know. maybe because we know that adventure games are going to be super dialogue heavy. And so we do need to have that focus where sometimes in and an RPG or an action game, it's a little bit more mindless, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, that could be. like Speaking of um like games and new enjoyments, I haven't booted it up yet, but the new update for Fields of Mysteria is out. Yes. And I kind of feel that way about Mysteria. I don't really feel overwhelmed by that, and that's backwards because there's so many things to do in a game like that, right? But I don't know. It seems more... Polished isn't the right word, but...

Speaker: compartmentalized I hope Mysteria grabs me again because i was feeling pretty burnt out on it I was too yeah during some of the last few updates yeah which is interesting Which is weird because I felt so excited about it when I started playing. And yet there was all this content that was still blocked off. And I was like, I can't wait for this content to to to get developed and released. Yeah.

Speaker: And then as it did, I was like, i don't know that I care. So I think I but i might try and start from the beginning. like Yeah. Like wipe my save and start over and see how I feel.

Speaker: That's what I did on the last update. yeah and I enjoyed it. Again, i really did. I enjoyed it. And I wonder if this is kind of a failing on releasing games and segments like this. I would have much rather have just played the whole thing um because I forget what I'm doing.

Speaker: It gets overwhelming. and Or I start to remember the more redundant parts. You know what I mean? It's just like I don't – I don't know. You shift out the mode, right? Like the game was a little more boring than it was supposed to be. Right. So it didn't capture you as much as it should have. But the mystique of it has worn off because you've already experienced some of it. Yes. So this is why I haven't opened up the early access of Subnautica 2 yet. Right.

Speaker: I know I'm going to have fun as soon as I do, but I don't want to be burnt out on it before yeah the alpha comes out. Right. yeah And, I regret starting Fields of Mysteria when I did. i Maybe not because i I was playing it with my girlfriend at the time and we had a lot of, like there was a lot of good memories we built there. Yeah. but And that's how I found it too. It's like you pass it on to me and I felt like we were all having fun talking about it.

Speaker: But now it's like, it feels like work. It feels like work now. i know. I know. And it's, I just, I think early access I don't know. This is going to be a sweeping statement, so I'm not sure if we drill down on it, if I will stand by it. But I'm going to make this claim. and I'll think on it. I'll think on it after I make it. But I think early access is bad. i kind of do, too. Yeah. I think maybe it is hurting

Speaker: games more than it's helping them maybe it's helping them financially because games are impossible to finance these days but I don't know but in in terms of like as a piece of art I think it might be I don't know. Imagine if you read Great Expectations and it allowed you to get halfway through the book. Yeah. But some of the chapters in between were missing or some sentences were written poorly. And it was like, oh, I know he's going to rewrite that sentence later.

Speaker: Yeah. You would be so reluctant To pick up that book later because you'd be like, I kind of I know what happens. And maybe the sentences are a little better now. Maybe it's a little better structured than the first time I read it. But like, I know what happens already. And I've already lived in that world and decided to step or had then had to step away from it for months or years.

Speaker: And now I'm supposed to like pick back up. Yeah. It's tough. I just don't think that's how art should be consumed, maybe. Yeah. And I know it sucks because early access gets you excited for stuff. But like I'm looking at my Steam page for it, and the last time I played was November 2025. Right. Meaning that that's like about enough time to restart, but it also isn't because I remember a lot of like the plot points now.

Speaker: um i You know, I remember the most important plot points and I don't want to do the romances over again yeah because I remember them. They're too, know, they're like too vivid in my mind. But I can't pick up where I left off.

Speaker: Right. Because i don't remember what I was doing. Yeah. But like, i've we got to play it, though, because they opened up like full marriages now.

Speaker: Yeah. Do I even care, though? Do I even want to get married to any of these people? I don't know. I probably i want to get married to to March, that asshole. mean, chipped away at him real good. It was flower girl. I liked her. i want to marry her. Celine.

Speaker: Celine. I have no idea. I don't fucking remember. she was a She was a fucking babe. Does it let you bone in this game? I mean it better.

Speaker: i don't know. And I also feel a little different about demos. and I've been thinking about this too because yeah the new Rainbow Billy demo is out. And I really liked the first Rainbow Billy. The first Rainbow Billy was Rainbow Billy and the Curse of the Leviathan. It was like a Super Mario RPG style RPG.

Speaker: where there was like a it was almost like a card game aspect to how you fight you had friends that you would make along the way and they would join your team and they would come up randomly you would have three different lanes as Billy and you would fill those lanes with the guys you wanted to attack and the enemy would be attacking one or multiple lanes per turn but the enemies would have weaknesses that had symbols on them is And each buddy of yours, each friend that you collected, would have different symbols on them. And so you had to match their symbols up with the symbols on the bad guy. It was, I think, made simple enough for a kid to enjoy it, but was complex enough that there was like a lot to dig into.

Speaker: um And there was a lot of secrets in the game. And one thing I remember the most about it was the soundtrack fucking ruled. Nice. Nice. So they made a new Rainbow Billy. The demo just came out, and it looks a little more adventure game-y.

Speaker: Oh, ooh, interesting. I don't know. I don't want to speak too much. I haven't played this demo yet, but it it looks way different. And I really like the setting and the soundtrack for the first game, so I'm i'm willing to give this ah this next game a try.

Speaker: Nice. I have played one other game. Mm-hmm. That I want to discuss a little bit because its sequel also just came out that I haven't and I haven't touched it because I kind of wanted to play the first game first.

Speaker: um I didn't get too far into it, but it's really interesting so far. It's another RPG, but it's like an interactive fiction RPG. Oh, fun. And it's called The Life and Suffering of Sir Bronte. Okay. back It in...

Speaker: In 2021, and it is about a a boy born into a noble family. And you're like you're like reading the book on his life.

Speaker: And whenever he makes it to certain crucial points, you make decisions for. you know, what he will do. And this goes as far back as when he's a baby, right?

Speaker: You start with him in a just being born in his crib. And the first choice you make is, does he reach out to his mom or his dad? That's cute. Based on that, you have stats that will...

Speaker: go up or down. And one of those stats is something like, I don't remember, I can't remember what it's called at the moment, but something like morale. Okay. And you need that stat in order to do things later.

Speaker: It's definitely not called morale. I'm just getting that because that's how far rainbow. yeah called ah But something like that determination, maybe will maybe something. But anyway, that is almost like a resource you spend. So if you do something when you're,

Speaker: young that gives you some kind of inspiration you you witness something that you find inspiring or something inspires you because it hurts you say like you make a decision that you know will cause you to become kind of like oppressed by somebody you so you disobey your grandfather or something And then he's going he's going to kick you and tell you you you never should have been born into this family because your mother is and noble is a commoner and he's the noble. He's from the noble side. Right.

Speaker: Then that'll maybe give you some determination or some will or whatever it is. that you can use later. But if you don't have that, certain like choices will be blocked off to you. Same as if you haven't built up other like actual stats. Like if you're again, I can't remember and the the names of the stats, but if you're your strength, that's again, not one of them. But if your strength isn't high enough, you can't lift up a big boulder. Right. it's It's like Quest for Glory.

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: No, sometimes you call all RPGs quest for. ah That's why I did that. Because I thought it'd be funny. so I know who I am.

Speaker: so you ah so yeah so It is like any other RPG where certain things you can't do if your stats aren't high enough. But ah unlike other RPGs, it's got this like it's got this one me mechanic that like you build up a stat and then you spend that one stat.

Speaker: Oh, and you spend it. Okay. And you have to rebuild it. Not all not all of them, right? like Some of them, are it's just if you have it, you have it. And other ones, like you know the determination one, you spend it.

Speaker: um And you're also... At the same time, building relationships with people. And this game, I'm i'm in his like young adult years. This game gets way, way more complex as you go and branches out further and further as there are like warring factions and you become ensconced in a profession and ensconced in the politics of the region and whatnot. It's really interesting.

Speaker: It does sound, actually, it kind of sounds like something that would potentially be my jam. Yeah. I mean, it is it's ah you know it is a reading game. And so you don't, you know, it's an RPG where you don't have to run around and swing a sword 700,000 times. Yeah. like Kind of like Esoteric Eb, right? Because you weren't really, that wasn't really combat forward, right? That was mostly decisions. Right. Like Esoteric Eb, only you don't have a character to control. Right. Right. um The character is...

Speaker: part of this fiction it's right you are controlling a character but you're only making decisions at crucial points anyway really interesting it's called the life and suffering of sir bronte the sequel um the life and suffering of prince jerryan jerryan jerryan okay ah Just came out. um And it looks like it improves on a lot of the on a lot of these mechanics, makes them a little simpler, yeah easier to use. I don't know how successful it is at doing that, but that's at least what it's attempting. So I'm i'm excited to keep playing Life and Suffering of Cerberante. And then if I love it as much by the end as I'm liking it at the beginning,

Speaker: then I'll check out Prince Jerrion. Can we just call him Jerry? Prince yeah Jerry. Nice. Jerry and bra. hey Life and suffering is Sir Bra.

Speaker: Sir Bra. Sir Bra, have you met Prince Jerry? yeah This is canon now. ah You know, we don't have a lot to do today. So is there anything else that ah you've been enjoying? Anything else you want to chat about?

Speaker: bought some pallet knives. Cool. do you want to review your palette knives for the people? So one is in the shape of a rectangle. That one's pretty good. It makes ah rectangle shapes. And one is in the shape of like a like a pedal.

Speaker: And I really like that. And it's good. I saw the Odyssey. Oh, did you? Fucking three hours. I can't make myself do it.

Speaker: is. does not feel like three hours. Really? Man, it it it trucks. and That's good. I would highly suggest, I don't say this very often um about movies because I don't ever get to mo the movie theater. Yeah. um But I would highly suggest seeing this in a movie theater.

Speaker: It is a larger than life story, and I don't know how it's going to feel on a smaller screen. But if you know the story of the Odyssey, It's fascinating. and if you don't, it's a great place to start.

Speaker: Cool. I'm glad you liked it. I mean, the performance, everybody's performance. Well, I'll say most people's performances are fucking brilliant. Yeah. Tom Holland feels a little out of place.

Speaker: m But not so much that it, you know, it it it diminished my enjoyment of the movie or anything. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not a movie reviewer. All I can say is it I liked it.

Speaker: I am. I'll watch it and I'll review it. Okay. I'll give you my only review it to you, though. So nobody else will get to hear it. Oh, good. Good.

Speaker: I'll write a 10-page video essay for you. I've been watching a fucking ton of movies. I also i went back to back. I saw the Spider-Man movie. How nice. How did you like it but It was it was a a very flawed, very fun movie.

Speaker: um There's a lot of the themes that travel through it were a lot deeper than the themes of most of the Spider-Man movies so far. So I can see why people are saying this is the best of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies and possibly the best Spider-Man movie. I can see why people are saying that. yeah um It doesn't rely as much on tricks and gimmicks.

Speaker: Okay. But there's some real big story problems in the movie that almost feel like this like in certain places the script was rushed or there was moments where it was just like, we just have to make it happen. I don't care if it doesn't make sense. This is what has to happen because this person needs to make this cameo or whatever. And so there are things that like on closer inspection don't make a lot of sense. But... The themes of the movie are really strong. They come out really, really strong. And it is fun-ass Marvel movie. So, hey, you can't, you know...

Speaker: yeah Not all Marvel movies are great anymore. Hashtag not all Marvel movies. Hashtag not all Marvel movies. But this one. this Hashtag but this one. Hashtag but this one. Wonderful. Yeah, not all Marvel. You know, a lot of Marvel movies have gotten kind of samey and bad. And I think this one feels a little bit more like like a filmmaker who has something to say. That's fair.

Speaker: On top of wanting to make a fun little Marvel movie. Yeah, that's fair. So what are we doing today? This. We're just chatting. What? I think... I guess... We hadn't had big conversation about what we were doing. were kind of just like, let's just... Let's just kind of like do a little bit of a variety of stuff. We'll talk about some games we're playing. Do some stuff. We'll do some stuff. So I think what we'll do next...

Speaker: And probably for the rest of the episode. so Unless we want to read a few emails. We haven't answered emails in a really long time. Why don't we do that first? Why don't we answer a couple emails and then we'll go into a ah ranking segment.

Speaker: Alright, music incoming.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: Hey everyone, welcome back to Save Your Game. I am host one of this podcast, Pushing a Process, and with me is host two. No, host A. You're host one and I'm host A. No, I think I host and you are host what i stay i know i think i am host a and you are not host i'm host one ah but You really want things to be equal? I just like the idea that we're doing different metrics. Like we have different, different record systems. I will be host one. You can be host a. i want to be host alpha.

Speaker: Fine. And you can be host a if you want. Such, such an alpha. Yeah. Oh, no, you're right. Never mind. I don't want to be hosting. Nope. forget Nope. That's just too late now. forgot. it had it say I forgot. um All right.

Speaker: Let's read some emails. Some of these are going to be fucking old. Great. So there will be people who are going to be listening to this podcast and be like, oh, my God. i don't. They might not even know it's their email.

Speaker: They might not even be listening anymore. Wait, that can't be true. How can they possibly give up on us, their best internet friends? Oh my gosh.

Speaker: So, all right. First one, I think this is interesting. And i I think there's a discussion topic here. But this emailer, Aaron, says, the first adventure game I played was King's Quest on my dad's work computer in 1985. And so it brings back a lot of memories listening to the show.

Speaker: He says, he has a very distinct memory of playing what must have been King's Quest too He's wandering around and in the distance, wants to say it was on an island, but it ah could also be the middle of a field, but it just felt, quote, far away. There was a sign, but you couldn't read what was on it. I remember it taking forever to find, like more than one weekend at the office. And when I finally did, it was an advertisement for the Black Cauldron video game coming out the following year. yeah. Much like Ralphie and the decoder ring and Christmas story I was pissed that I had wasted all that time On an advertisement I thought about it on and off through the years But never was compelled to look it up When I started listening to your podcast Especially with your fondness for Kings Quest 1 I thought it would be funny to find a screenshot And tell my story of spending days Getting to this dumb ad Aaron can't find a single mention of it Anywhere and wonders if they somehow imagined it

Speaker: Uh-oh. Chronologically, it works out. Because they would have been playing 1985. Black Cauldron came out in 1986. Okay. So... Well, it's... Okay, so first of all, it's certainly not going to be King's Quest 1.

Speaker: Right. Because i dot I don't remember any ads in King's Quest 1. However, i don't remember any ads in... King's Quest 2 either. Well, wait, maybe. i' to I'm pretty familiar with these games. I do like very specifically remember Space Quest having ads, though.

Speaker: And I'm just wondering just wondering if he's thinking about Space Quest and not King's Quest. Maybe. yeah i I can definitely remember seeing ads in Sierra games. Yeah, yeah absolutely. As like quote unquote jokes. Yeah. but And like i'm I'm just saying I'm saying Space Quest because they're the more the more meta, more jokey of the Quest games. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. And so now LucasArts also did this a lot. And I'm wondering if in Sierra and LucasArts, if if in in any of these old ass games, did these fuck you up at all?

Speaker: Where like you didn't quite realize it was just an advertisement and you were like, is there something here? Is there like a clue here? Yeah. When I was younger, I didn't know what that even was. Like, had to ask an adult, date and they don't fucking know. Like, I'm literally the only person in my family who cared about computer games, so they're just like, I don't know. So, yeah, it did when I was younger, and now it just kind of, like, irritates me, i guess, a little bit. ah Because I don't like meta stuff at all.

Speaker: I had trouble believing that the Ask Me About Loom guy... Mm-hmm. Was only an advertisement. i like i yeah I had so much trouble believing that. And I was like. ah I was like.

Speaker: No there's got to be something else with this guy. And yeah there wasn't. And then later in Curse of Monkey Island. There's Ask Me About Grim Fandango. Again. Same thing. Where was like. And Grim Fandango wasn't out yet.

Speaker: Right. Yeah it wasn't out yet. So it was an ad. And so I was confused. I was very confused by it. No, it is. It is confusing for, I think, for the younger players, which a lot of them were, especially LucasArts. Yeah, it did kind of mess me up. Like, what is this?

Speaker: So that email was from October 2024. Thanks, Aaron. a parent Do you want to grab one? you want to grab one of these really old ones? Yes. So this question comes from Joe.

Speaker: Joseph from Ohio. hi Joe. hey Joe. Are there any hidden gems worth playing from the dark age of adventure games, a.k.a. the 2000s? And we'll we'll we'll discuss personally what we think the dark age What do you think are the games that got us out of the dark age and started the current resurgence?

Speaker: I have a couple thoughts. Would you like to give your thoughts? You know, When we're talking about hidden gems yeah from the Dark Ages, Jazz and Faust is number one. It's got number one. It's all the way up there. Jazz and Faust. you got to fight First, you got to play as Jazz. Then you play as Faust. You play the exact same thing, but you're two different guys. I haven't still haven't played it. Damn it, I thought you had forgotten about those. Damn it. I love chess. Still thinking about them. still haven't played it, but I love it so much.

Speaker: But, okay. That's not... Those are not hidden gems, Matt. They're hidden gems. that they're It's a perfect game. And what was the other one? Dark something. ah Yeah. dot ah I don't fucking remember. Dark history? I don't remember. empire Dark empire. Dark rain. Dark... Dark... dark Not worth playing. Cool man. That's not an answer. Was it dark cool man?

Speaker: No. i think it was dark cool man. I think that's the game you're writing actually. Dark cool man. Dark cool man. win win win When Jeff cool man falls down a yeah into sewer grate into a dark dank sewer And he gets beat up by everybody in the world.

Speaker: Why are they down there? Then he it it it changes his sunny demeanor forever and turns him from cool man into dark cool man. Wow.

Speaker: We should be hired. I love these sunglasses. It's Batman. Yeah. I love, he's dark cool man. You can't, you can't rip off Batman.

Speaker: I love to surf and skateboard.

Speaker: Well, Joseph from Ohio, I hope that this answered your question. Check out my spray paint.

Speaker: And the slingshot in my backpack. Are you starting to be less like a cool man and more like ah a rascally boy? I'm going to draw him. The dark earth. Dark Earth. That's it. Yes, that's it. Anyway, so those are the two. i don't know. Do you have any?

Speaker: I don't know. if the The thing is, I don't know if they're hidden gems, but I suppose when I think about the early 2000s, I think about the Trilby games being really great. i think about Siberia, the Siberia games being really good. I would go as far to say that Grey Matter by Jane Jensen is a hidden gem. I thought that was a pretty good game.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, i know I know you like that game. So I think you raise, well, Samorost was released during that time, the first yeah Amanita game. um I know that a lot of people loved the Microeeds games, Siberia and and whatnot. I didn't love them.

Speaker: Yeah, I know. I don't love them either, but I do think that they stand out in a yeah in a time where everything was kind of not great. I also loved The Longest Journey when I first played it. I have trouble going back to it now. Yeah. yeah um And again, is that a hidden gem? Because that's a very well-known, well-liked game. But the hidden gems, I think, are all the AGS games. Like, you bring up the Trilby games, and I think those are, that's where the hidden gems are during the Dark Ages. So from, you know, whatever, 2001.

Speaker: one to 2010 or whatever. ah you The games that you have to look for are, you know, what the developers of today were doing on the adventure game studio forums. Yeah.

Speaker: And so the trilogy games is one. i think enclosure is a hidden gem. Okay. Okay. Yeah. ah Remember, we talked about Enclosure, and I think at some point we might have... do you Do you remember that game? Do you remember me telling you about that game? I remember you telling me it.

Speaker: Honestly, you should play it, Matt. I do think it's a hidden gem because it's way lesser known than some of the other AGS games. But you're so right. You're so on point. The hidden gems are the AGS games from the 2000s. The Ben Jordan games? Yeah. Go play those. Those are... Yeah, agreed. they're Those are awesome. the The game Apprentice. Apprentice was really good. Yeah.

Speaker: God, I wish I could remember. Sometime we'll have to do this is we've talked about this since day one of this podcast, but someday we will do an episode where we talk about some of these old AGS games. But for sure. um but So stay tuned. yeah We have a second a second part of that question of what do we think the games are that got us out of the Dark Age? What what has what has ah what is it what are the proponents of the current resurgence? God, that's such a complicated question. because It is. Because there's so many tendrils of it. I think adventure games returned through a lot of different venues. Yeah, I do too.

Speaker: I think one of those venues is through the sort of American discovery of the visual novel. And that happened through like Phoenix, right?

Speaker: Sure. Phoenix, right. You wouldn't end up with things like Danganronpa and these other games that were huge that are adventure games. Right. Yeah.

Speaker: The other thing that happened that pulled us out of the Dark Ages was um Telltale. Yeah. ah Yeah, I would agree with that. A different kind of adventure game, but definitely bringing us back into the the genre.

Speaker: But because people were, you know, getting the Walking Dead and stuff like that, that made them more open to games like Firewatch.

Speaker: Sure, sure And I think even predating Firewatch and ah probably people are going to like disagree and yell at me. I think when the Broken Age Kickstarter came out ah from Double Fine, I think that really did put us on a better track because there was whether you like Broken Age or not, I don't think that matters. I think that started more conversation about adventure games being dead. I even remember the like the advertisements and videos they were doing for Broken Age and they were joking.

Speaker: that adventure games are not dead um so i i really do think broken age uh double fine and then you know ron gilbert was working on like the cave at the time ah again whether you like the games or not was yeah i don't know the cave was like but you know telltale led to life is strange yeah that's true like and and i think life is strange was a big proponent too Yes, which was huge. and um And as all of this was happening, i think that's when those AGS folks, Dave Gilbert, Francisco Gonzalez, Ben Crawshaw, like all these people started taking on bigger projects yeah and coming into their own as developers. And that's when you end up with Grundislav and Wadjudai all these like

Speaker: you know indies all the Yeah, because at the same time, outside of of adventure games, the indie video game renaissance was kicking off, right? Yeah. yeah You had Braid and World of Goo and you know all all these games that were becoming super popular And then Hollow Knight came out in 2017 and Shovel Knight came out in, oh, wow, way back in 2014. Holy cow. Wow.

Speaker: But both of those games found new life when the Nintendo Switch came out and everybody suddenly had a handheld console that could yeah play Like full on games. Yeah. Hades is another example of this. And then people started looking for indie games yeah and funding indie games.

Speaker: And that's how you ended up with Hades. the, you know, the indie game renaissance that we're in now and that ah opened up the door for people to find funding and audiences for Steam also, Steam coming into existence. Yeah, absolutely. To find absolutely funding and audiences for their passion projects.

Speaker: um And so adventure game fans were very able to become adventure game developers. And yeah, so it is a really complicated story that brings us to where we are today. Yeah.

Speaker: don't know. Maybe there's like a YouTuber that like started like reviewing adventure games. Jacksepticeye. What? but you mean Did you mean? oh oh ah Dave the Diamond Minecart.

Speaker: Yeah, Dave the Diamond Minecart. That's definitely what i was talking about. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that guy rules. I don't know. Yeah, anyway, my moving on. My kid watched both of those guys when he was younger.

Speaker: All right. So we've got, this is from Citizen of Xanth. Wow. back August 2025. So one full year ago. Exactly.

Speaker: august twenty twenty five so one full year ago They ask, do you snack when you play games and what are the best slash your favorite snack to have during a gaming session?

Speaker: am i I don't think we've answered this email, but have we discussed this? I feel like we've discussed this once before. I feel like we have answered this. and And I don't know if my answer is going to be the same answer or not. All right.

Speaker: Yeah, let's go. Maybe it's not. I don't know. But okay listen, listen here. I don't snack when I game. I eat my dinner when I game. Okay. What did you think I was going to say? it just It sounded like you were winding up to something really pretentious. like I don't snack when I game. yeah i have snack time and I have game time. and What, am I going to sully my game time by dividing my attention with a snack?

Speaker: Definitely not. Not this girl. Not this girl. Not this gaming girly. No, I bring my full-on dinner to my desk. tootus. I don't know. I'm not a big snacker, I guess. i like i don't I don't even really have a lot of snack food like in my house. so But I do get hungry while I'm gaming and I don't want to like leave the game. So I just get dinner and just bring it to my desk. I just eat it.

Speaker: I destroy snack food. wait So I can't have a lot of snack food in my house. um Oh, I know. Listen, we've hung out and your eating habits are sus and mildly concerning. yeah i So I can't buy salty snack foods. Yeah.

Speaker: At least not very salty snack foods because I will hurt my own mouth. Like I will eat so much salty snack foods that like I don't – I'll get like ulcers on my tongue or I'll like hat get like ah like ah like ah like ah like a dry spot on my – at the corner of my lips or something. And like I have to heal from it. So I don't buy chips or anything anymore. But – Do you like so smash them into your mouth? No, I'm just saying I eat so... No, if you eat a bag of chips, a full family-sized bag of chips in two days, you are going to hurt your fucking body. Your body cannot take that amount of salt and sodium into... And sodium through your mouth, nor can it take that level of dehydration.

Speaker: Yeah. So, ah similar with... sugar i don't like it doesn't i don't get like physical maladies from eating sugar right too much sugar but i eat a lot of sugar like if i have sugar in the house i'll eat it so fast and then i'll just start to feel like a little bleh yeah anyway best thing to eat the best way to eat snacks when you're gaming is with chopsticks i've heard that yeah

Speaker: And best thing to eat is like, is something, something crunchy and puffy. So like not puffy as in air puffed, not puffy as in like. Yeah. Like cheesy Doritos, but like cheesy puffs. che Yeah.

Speaker: Excuse me. Cheesy poofs. Aren't actually, are aren't actually a thing, but but cheese puffs. And, ah but the the number one example of these is those, um,

Speaker: Those pea pods. Oh, I love those. vegetable Those pea pod snacks. They're shaped like pea pods. They're made out of pee they're made of peas. And they are like. Yeah, they're good. Like the texture of a cheese puff.

Speaker: Yeah. They're so good. They're so good. They're so addicting. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm over here just like pounding down a full pizza since I don't snack. I just eat dinner. Yeah. I don't recommend it, actually.

Speaker: Well, like I said, I often don't have snacks in my house for because they they just disappear so fast. Yeah, I have a great idea.

Speaker: But so I do the same thing. So, yeah, I often just eat dinner at my computer. A lot of times when I'm playing adventure games, maybe I'll eat like a bowl of cereal I love cereal. And the cereal that I tend to eat is the um like the store brand raisin brand granola.

Speaker: So it's like it's raisin brand and it's like a raisin brand and it has granola in it. And it's just the giant brand. Do you want to hear my really good idea? Listen, you come over.

Speaker: We boot up mermaid mask and we eat a block of cheese. Wow, you're speechless. The idea was so good that you're actually speechless. Amazing.

Speaker: is that a no on the cheese? Because ah just I could go for a block cheese. a full block of cheese. All right. Do you have maybe let's do one more. do you have one more? Yeah, let's do one more.

Speaker: So our last question for today is, do you have any standouts when it comes to interaction models and point in point and click games? ah Either really good, really bad, or really interesting?

Speaker: Do you have anything that comes to mind? Yeah. A bunch of things come to mind immediately. First is, so they give some examples. They talk about how, like, generally in Grim Fandango, you can't combine items. But at one point in the game, you need to combine two items. And it's, like, towards the end of the game. So it's, like, a fucking tribulation to try and figure out. Just, like, you're, like, I know what I need to do. How do I do it?

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Or the verb coin in Curse of Monkey Island. as a love ah i love a verb coin. Just want to put that out there. So, and how how how those can be very abstract.

Speaker: h And, like, how they say, particularly the mouth icon does not mean talk to, but and it means do mouth stuff to or lick. Like, you know, famously in Space Quest, it's like taste, I think. Yeah. Yeah. So...

Speaker: I mean, so ah the a very obvious classic one is in Loom, how there is it's a single click interface, but almost every puzzle, like all your verbs are these spells that you cast by selecting certain notes on your instrument.

Speaker: hmm. And so if you can remember these specific like little songs, several couple note songs, then you can, you know, that one turns turns things green, another thing turns straw to gold, right? Right. um And if you play them backwards, it does the opposite. So which might be a spoiler if you've never played Loom. I think that might be a puzzle you have to solve. Right. I think talking about it is a little too abstract and like just saying it out loud isn't going to ruin anything. Okay. Yeah. So I think another ah really interesting recent one that we just talked about is Crushed in Time.

Speaker: The way that you sort of just want grab the screen like Mario's face in Super Mario 64 and you can grab any part of the screen and the action that you're doing by grabbing the screen is kind of intuitive.

Speaker: You're like, oh yeah, if I grab an object, it's chucking it across the screen. But if I grab the screen, it's just kind of shaking something or whatever. How about you? So I think I'm a little bit more old school because my brain goes to parser.

Speaker: I love interacting with games through the parser. So I i was kind of thinking back like upon my first like loves of adventure games, and they were certainly parser. And then the other like next step up was the menu that would come down when you go to the top of your screen. And I'm not saying those are the best. Like I'm thinking about the one in and Gabriel Knight where there's like three options for use.

Speaker: Like there's the cogs and then there's the hand and then there, who knows, there's another thing like a push. and They all just, they're they're all the same thing. It's used. yeah um But I do have like a soft spot, even to this day, if I'm playing an adventure game,

Speaker: sometimes I'll put my mouse up to the top to see if a menu comes down because I'm so used to doing that in all my adventure games. So I really, i really love text parsers. I really love interacting with games through the parser. That's why I love the Crimson Diamonds so much. um And yeah, i I have a soft spot for the menu that is at the top, at the top of the screen. And I so i still look for it.

Speaker: Is that sad or cute? I don't know. Well, thank you everybody for emailing us. Sorry we don't do this very often, but you can always continue sending us emails. ah We do, you know, we actually, even though we had like two years of emails built up, we had a lot of trouble finding actual questions. Yeah, we get a lot of suggestions and and stuff.

Speaker: so and And you're still free to send those. um we you know We don't mind getting suggestions. We don't mind getting caught your comments on an episode. We don't mind getting yeah compliments, obviously. Please, shower me. But we you know we could use some interesting questions that will spark discussion topics. So if you can think of a very simple, a question that's simple to ask, simple to read,

Speaker: but could spark a lot of discussion, a lot of interesting discussion. feel always Feel free to send it at mattandroses at gmail.com. Yeah. Thanks, guys. Thank you for your questions.

Speaker: Now, before we get out of here for the evening, do you want to put on some weird old music and then rank some games? Yes, I was. Oh, man. I'm like so nostalgic. that I'm like, you're definitely going to say swanky Maximino. You broke my heart by not saying it. Hey, Spotify broke your heart, baby. old timey music incoming.

Speaker: everyone. Welcome back. Guess what time it It is 1223 a.m. No, it's time to rank adventure games.

Speaker: We're doing a late night record, folks. I'm getting punchy. yeah But I'm not too, never too punchy to rank some ah adventure games. Roses. Yes. Why don't you tell everybody just a quick rundown of the rules here.

Speaker: So the rules. We are going to be looking up adventure games from a list of like, what? 3000 plus games that Matt found. I added and I added Yeah, late 2025 and all of 2026 so far. So we are at 4,062 is what the list is. Oh my god. Okay, cool. So we have that list of 4,062. Which we will definitely get through one day. We're definitely going to go through.

Speaker: We roll random numbers on a random number generator and they will give us... And we we will... Select the adventure game to that corresponding number. Yeah. so And then we will number look it up.

Speaker: Number one on here is Colossal Cave Adventure. Right. While number 4062 is, ah hold on, I'm scrolling, I'm scrolling, I'm scrolling. my God.

Speaker: is i don't and actually don't know what this is. Yerba Buena. by Mad About Pandas from this year. So that's like that's kind of how this this works is like they are just numbered and we will randomly pick them.

Speaker: And once we randomly pick one, we are going to rank it. We'll probably look it up. And whether we played it or not, we're putting it on the list. Yes. And we made choice you know we make our rankings with with opinions based on what we, if we think we would like them, if it looks to be good quality. Sometimes we'll look up and see what the reviews are like. But it doesn't matter if we played them. We will rank them.

Speaker: And it is a definitive all-time ranking. yeah Inarguable. Unless, so so there's a couple, we can skip one her We haven't broken down into segments. like never do that. Yeah. Per like every five, we're allowed to skip one. Which we've done once or Yeah. But very rarely. And if we play one the games...

Speaker: and we if we play one of the games we are allowed to return and change its ranking. But we cannot change a ranking unless we play a game. so That is what's fair. I believe we have you have that opportunity right now.

Speaker: Because I believe you played our number...

Speaker: 99 game on our list of, us we've ranked 150 games so far. There'll be a link in our show notes if you really want to see what the ranking list is right now. But so number 99. Oh, our old friend. Krabat and the Seeker of the Sorbonne King. Yes, from 2019. You played this game. I did. I played a little bit of it. I don't think I played enough of it. To be honest, I played more Gilbert Goodmate. I played way more of that.

Speaker: Okay, so Gilbert Goodmate is number 98, just above Krabat and the Secret of the Sorbian King. i'm I'm okay with Krabat where it is, but Gilbert Goodmate, I think I want to change. I think that needs to go lower.

Speaker: oh oh how much lower? I think it is definitely bad. Where do I want to put this now? well likes all Yeah, okay. All right. It is already close to our lower third of the list. I know. i know it is. I know it is. It's just – here's how I feel. I feel – that And I haven't played it, but I feel like the Hans Christian Andersen Ugly Prince Duckling has got to be better. Okay. This is how much I hate it. I really disliked it. Okay. Oh, wow. All right. yeah All right. all right.

Speaker: So maybe it goes by like like ah underneath like Chop Suey. Okay. Yeah, I could say underneath Chop Suey I think is a good idea. Because we think Chop Suey probably –

Speaker: Not a bad game, just not for us, right? Yeah. Here's a good question for for both of us. Now, if you decide to play Gilbert Goodmate, can we move it again? Yeah, but there will be a big argument. There'll be huge argument.

Speaker: Matt will want to put it at number one, and I'll be like. Number one. As soon as I play. um Jazz and Faust. Dark Earth.

Speaker: Where do we have Jazz and Faust right now? You convinced me to put it up really high, and I just kind of humbled No, it's not high. It's lower half. It's 87. Okay, fair. Fair, fair. It's fair just above the seventh guest, so it's pretty low. You put dark earth at 42, Matt. Yeah, I really like dark earth.

Speaker: All right. So, so again, I, I, one thing we do is I prep these ahead of time. So have them into a little category. So if, when I'm asking roses for a number between one and 10, I'm just saying, Hey, which chunk of the ones I've already randomly selected, do you want to, do you want me to draw from? So,

Speaker: Roses. isn Pick for me a number between one and ten. Three. Three. Okay. We better fucking not have done this. Okay. all right All right. All right. Yeah. These are some weird ones. I don't know.

Speaker: okay Let's start from the beginning here. Okay. The first one is from... Our first game is from 2023. Okay.

Speaker: okay I've never heard of this game before. Okay. It's called David Slade Mysteries Case Files.

Speaker: Case Files. It's by Gear Works with an X Productions. Okay. um All right. I'm looking it up. Yeah. It's a first... Oh, it's VR.

Speaker: Oh, it's VR. Oh. It's a first person... No, it's reimagined for VR. Wait, what? What the hell is this game? Hold on. let's There might be some history here that we are not aware of.

Speaker: What do you mean reimagined for VR? What are you talking about? David Slade Mystery Case Files. Did this game, here's my question.

Speaker: Did this game exist before it was a VR game? I don't know.

Speaker: It seems that people think that it's a pretty good VR game. ah Like it's immersive and works really well. However, does that make it a good adventure game?

Speaker: the Yeah, because, all right. So when I'm looking at this title card, yeah immediately I'm thinking 1999. Same. Yes, absolutely. It looks like Dark Mirror or something. Right. And you know I'm already not about it. I don't like that style. But the actual gameplay looks like it's a very, it looks so almost kind of like it's a detailed crime scene investigator.

Speaker: Yeah. sim that turns into, you know, that that turns into like a a real adventure. And so it says it's um inspired by the classic Policed Quest adventure series, Reborn and Reimagined for VR. Now I wanna know how close, how much is it inspired?

Speaker: Yeah. By the police quest adventure series. i I'll be honest. I don't like it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry to be negative, but I don't.

Speaker: What don't you like about it? I don't like the first person. i don't like the graphics. Well, okay. A VR game has to be first person though.

Speaker: I guess it does. I guess it does. Yeah, I guess it does. Um,

Speaker: so So I don't know that we can hold that again. I mean, you could say, i mean, it's perfectly valid to say you don't enjoy VR games or VR narrative games. Which don't. Yeah, which I don't. I do.

Speaker: so can we make... This seems like something I would play, but what I'm not sure about is how, like, good it would be. i I'm having trouble finding any, like...

Speaker: legitimate reviews of it yeah on the internet, like like professional people. Because it it seems like, yeah, there's very technical forensic work, and then there's like there's like shooting range. it's It's doing a lot of different stuff. Yeah.

Speaker: I don't know where to put this, but my instinct yeah is to put it lower. I don't know. What do you what are you thinking? Yeah. i'm i'm i'm I'm having trouble with it it it. It appears like basically no one on earth has ever played this game. Can we put it above Blue Force for now?

Speaker: No, I'm sorry. Can we put it above Super Jazz Band for now?

Speaker: And then once we find more stuff about it or if one of us plays it, then we can decide if we want to move it. But that is my instinct. Yeah. ah You want to give this game a chance, don't you?

Speaker: Yeah, my instinct is to give it a chance, but I don't yeah i don't know. i know so little about it. so where So wait, okay. So you're saying above Super Jazzman. So two above Blue Force. yeah You know, I would put it maybe a little bit higher. I would jump it up maybe about five spaces to like underneath Biohazard Escape Room. I'm actually okay with that. Yeah.

Speaker: Because I feel like if I'm thinking about what... do i what am I, what do do I, how much do I want to play this game? I'm thinking I want to play it about as much as I want to play one of these escape room simulators, which isn't zero. But it's not a ton. like it's it's it's It's somewhere in like, ah it's it's in the like, um and if I'm in the mood yeah kind of thing. If I'm in the mood to play a VR game and I've played everything else I have that I could see saying, all right I'll give David Slade Mysteries case files a try. Same as if, i yeah, same as like, if ah there's no good escape room games

Speaker: Maybe I'll try biohazard escape room game. Right. Right. So yeah. All right. So one. So very still very low. Like you said. so one 30. All right. Let's move on to our next game.

Speaker: um All right. This is from 2019. lot of new games lately. This whole this list is going to be almost all new games. Oh interesting. This next this this little segment here. So it's by Antler Interactive. Hmm.

Speaker: And it is called Crystopia, K-R-Y, Crystopia, A Puzzle Journey. Okay. Crystopia. So my initial read on it is that it is, it's it's kind of like post The Witness.

Speaker: Yes. There were a lot of these first person characters

Speaker: Like logic puzzles. Yes. um One of the ones that I played not that long ago was Tobla Divine Path.

Speaker: And it was very short. The puzzles, some of the puzzles were challenging. Some of the puzzle puzzles were really, really, really simple. Yeah. But it was all based around ah so one single design mechanic that they sort of like, that sort of branched out.

Speaker: The Witness, what was so incredible about The Witness is that it did that, but it did that to such an a immense degree and with such incredible skill that it made it into something sort of transformative. Right. Yeah.

Speaker: This game almost looks like taking the i thick the concept of like pipe dream. but Right. yeah Expanding that.

Speaker: Yeah. Into a puzzle mechanic. What are your what's what are your initial what's your initial read on this? My initial read is it looks like a cute little puzzle game.

Speaker: um It's simplified down from things like Myst and The Witness. I already know that this is not the type of game that i enjoy. um so that i mean i mean, I think I would enjoy Myst more than this game because it has kind of that mystique, the mysterious elements to it. So, but it's not bad either. It actually looks really nice. It looks really cute.

Speaker: looks cute i i don't know if it looks like a world i really think a world that seems like it'd be a lot of a very interesting to spend time in though right that's why i'm like i would prefer mist because that's an interesting world with weird things in it uh this is a little more simplified mean and maybe it's more dependent you know on the puzzles seems like the voice acting is very limited okay so there's a lot of there's a lot of reading involved I mean, this is definitely going to go higher than David Slade, because I think this is more course in line with traditional adventure games, right?

Speaker: And apparently the the ability to align some of these, because this is this is very based on having to find... to connect things through lines. And apparently being able to align things perfectly can be very finicky. So that would be frustrating. But this looks like a game that I would spend. it depends how long a game this game yeah This looks like a game that...

Speaker: if it would it's It's only $4.99 too. This looks like a game that I would spend, if if it's like two, three hours long, I could see myself spending an afternoon and really enjoying, but also it not being super memorable like Tobla the but Divine Path.

Speaker: It's like ah four and a half hours is a good average to to choose from. Yeah. It might be a little bit longer than I'd want to spend in a game like this. I would say...

Speaker: Weirdly, the the thing that my brain is comparing it most to is Pine Hearts. m ah The thing on this list. But that's a little higher than I think.

Speaker: Yeah, i agree. I would want to put this. I might put it just maybe like.

Speaker: Around 10 spots below that, maybe above the Agatha Christie and below Helheim Hassle is where I'm thinking. I'm okay with that. And is there a chance you might play this game?

Speaker: I think so. Yeah. I think that i I could see myself play, especially if it goes like on sale and it's $3 rather than $5. I know that sounds ridiculous, but yeah. um If I had it in my library, this is something like yeah this is a thing. Looking at it is something I might find myself having trouble spending money on. But if I had it in my library, my Steam library, this is something I could easily see clicking through my library and going, yeah, all right, I'll play. Yeah.

Speaker: I'll play Christopia, a puzzle journey this afternoon. Yeah. Yeah. So it's the new 49. It's in our top 50. It is in that the top 50 adventure games of all time. Is Crystopia a Puzzle Journey?

Speaker: I mean, this this is exactly why, though, you know, that we have a this rule. This is why we have this rule, because if we make a boo-boo and that's like way too high and you play it, we can move it and then no one will be mad at us ever.

Speaker: Well, they can't get mad at us either way because these are definitive rankings and they can't ever change. And we are right. We are objectively right about everything we choose. I mean, I definitely am objectively right about everything.

Speaker: Here's a fun one to throw on the list. it's our It's only our second game, I think, that we've gotten from this particular company. And it's a company we both really like a lot. Okay. And I have a little bit of a history with this franchise.

Speaker: Okay. But... This is a game I've not played. It's from Humongous Entertainment in 1999. It is Spy Fox 2. Some assembly required.

Speaker: Spy Fox. Oh, I love that. So when I was a kid and I loved the LucasArts adventure games, right? I would try and talk about them with my friends.

Speaker: I've received a gift from Pushing Up Roses. It's Christopia, a puzzle journey. Thank you very much, my friend. Did you read the message I attached to it? It just says, ha, ha, ha, ha. All right, well. I'm here.

Speaker: So Spy Fox. Thank you. I will play it. So, all right. Oh, boy. All right. Spy Fox 2, some assembly required. were required um So, okay. So, yeah, when I was a kid and I played a lot of the LucasArts games, I wanted people to talk to about them with. Yeah. And...

Speaker: and I couldn't nobody knew what the fuck I was talking about right yeah um nobody I knew had played any games like this I would try to explain the type of games and nobody people would sometimes every now and then somebody like oh like King's Quest and be like well no but kind of but no because yeah you know I I was this LucasArts boy. So, but mostly people wouldn't have any idea. Yeah. But I did hear somebody tell me about this game called Spy Fox. And i was like, I've never heard of it. So probably not because like my...

Speaker: go-to answer was no. Yeah. No, not like that at all. So when someone would tell me about one, it'd just be like, they're probably not going to know what I'm talking about. So was like, so my my my instinct is no, probably not, but it sounds kind of similar.

Speaker: And then I was over at this friend's house one time, was probably 10 or 11, right?

Speaker: And we played Spy Fox and the the first Spy Fox game. And I was like, oh my God, there's this whole other not LucasArts company making these games that I love. Yeah. Yep. I love these games. um I had the pleasure of playing these games actually as an adult. I didn't know that these games, I was busy playing LucasArts. I wasn't playing these games. Just to be clear, I played most of them later as an adult. Okay, great. I played them around the time that I played all the Sierra games, which was what, like six, seven years ago. Okay. Okay. I played these probably ah ah a little bit longer than that or a little bit earlier than that because I play them to review them. I have multiple Humongous Entertainment reviews on my channel. So I've played i've played this game. I've played Spy Fox 1 and 2. I've played multiple of the Pajama Sams. I've played multiple of the Freddy Fish. And I'm a putt-putt girl. Let me tell you, that's the best one. played all the putt-putts.

Speaker: Yeah, I played all the putt-putts. Puppet goes to the moon? Come on. I played Spy Fox 1. i played the Pajama Sam's until they started to get bad.

Speaker: Sure. And we have a Pajama Sam on here. Do we have two Pajama Sam's? We have Pajama Sam 2 for sure. Thunder and Lightning aren't so frightening. And I'm going to say that...

Speaker: like most of the humongous entertainment games, this is a very good game. It's a good adventure game. It's good quality. It's fun, but it's definitely not better than Pajama Sam.

Speaker: So Pajama Sam is a charming character while Spy Fox can get a little grading. Right? Yeah, I agree. i agree. There's just something a little less memorable about Spy Fox versus Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt, right? And i remember each Putt-Putt and so Pajama Sam adventure individually Sure. Yeah. the Granted, I only played the one Spy Fox, so maybe I would Spy Fox 2 also, but i know because i don't lot but I don't remember i don't remember a lot about the story of Spy Fox 1, I guess, is my was where I'm coming from that with that.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't remember i ok so hardly anything. So not as high as Pajama Sam 2. Right. If we were, okay, so all I can say is if we were ranking Spy Fox 1 on here, I think I would be putting it down below my brother rabbit, down in the 20s. Oh, that's where I am. Amazing.

Speaker: Okay. All right. yeah um So this is Spy Fox 2, which I've never played. So that is that's my guiding light here is I would put Spy Fox 1 maybe around, maybe between my brother rabbit and Dreamfall chapters.

Speaker: I would put it below Dreamfall chapters. That's my. This one or Spy Fox 1? Spy Fox 2. Okay. Below Dreamfall. The one that we're actually ranking. Yes. The one that we're ranking. Would you put it above Twilight Oracle?

Speaker: Yes. Oh, okay. Wait a book. Yeah. Yeah. So you would put Spy Fox 2, some assembly required, as our new number 22. Yeah. Okay. Okay.

Speaker: okay ah They are that good, guys. They're good adventure games. 28 spots above Christopia, a puzzle journey, which is now bumped down to number 50. ah And somehow, believe this has got to be wrong, somehow 21 spots above the dark earth.

Speaker: I kind of think Dark Earth should be higher, but we can't. We can't fix it until you play We'll do that later. We'll talk about that later. Listen, you got so excited that I couldn't argue with you about Earth.

Speaker: And I'm just wondering why Jazz and Faust is still all the way down. That was all you, man. All right. So this next game from 2020 by a company called Super Sexy Software.

Speaker: that's my company. You found me. We're not off to a great start, to be honest. Okay. It is...

Speaker: i okay it is called the shattering okay it's published by deck 13 shatter who just the shattering yeah deck 13 is pretty uh inconsistent okay i would say they a they they published cross code but they also published onk Oh, okay. This is interesting. It says it's a um like a walking simulator, which we we say with love. We don't care.

Speaker: First person, story-driven, psychological thriller. I don't hate what I'm seeing on the Steam page. um why don't you tell people what its design aesthetic is? it's really interesting. It's in black and white, ah first of all. And it looks to be... It looks to be in maybe like ah like an old asylum.

Speaker: That's kind of what it might be a mansion, but I think they're going for like an asylum. Because in one of... Yeah. Yeah. There's like cells in one of these screenshots. have a feeling...

Speaker: Either it takes place in different locations or it's like, yeah um I think there's a surrealist thing going on here. I think it's like, I'm in my house, but as I walked through the door, it was the hospital that I was a patient at ah long time ago. Sure. Sure.

Speaker: And then yeah because one of these looks like a hotel room. One of these looks like a therapist's office. One of these looks like a child's bedroom. There's like a doctor's office. It's somewhere at some point. um And there's like a scene. Yeah. So.

Speaker: And when you say black and white, you mean most it's mostly white. This is a very, very white, white game. Yeah. um And that's it's it's striking. And.

Speaker: there are certain moments where you get little shocks of the color blue. Yes. Yeah. Um, and it's definitely a surrealistic kind of story. Like as I said, as I'm watching the trailer, there's like, you're walking down a hallway and the hallways building itself as you're walking that, that old video game trick.

Speaker: ah Um, um,

Speaker: So not that this is the end all be all. But it's very positive on Steam. I'm definitely intrigued by it. I'm definitely intrigued. um I do like a walking similar i like thriller, like thriller storylines and psychological stuff. So I'm not against playing this. People are saying it is a bit of a slow burn, which sometimes I have trouble with.

Speaker: But i it does look intriguing to me, honestly. um But it's also like still very middling to me because I i don't like first person anything. And and I know that's strange for like a walking simulator. Usually they are first person, but...

Speaker: I don't know. I don't quite know where I would put this because it's it's kind of like how you felt about ah one of the previous games where you're like, yeah, I would play this. ah the The one I bought you. um I'm kind of I'm feeling that way towards this game, you know?

Speaker: So they are. This is a Polish development team. um Female led. Nice. the female game director.

Speaker: It's just a four person team, two dudes, two ladies. Here's the thing. I've, especially as a person who was reviewing games for a website for a while, for a long time. Um,

Speaker: i I picked up a bunch of these, right? like Like, these would just pop up almost every week, and you never knew when this was the kind of game you were getting, which are these these games, these, like,

Speaker: It's a first person psychological thriller, but turns out you're actually just in this person's dreams or in this person's mind palace. And like these like just like surreal psychological whatever. And they get really tiring.

Speaker: It gets really tiring playing these games. I kind of like that shit, though. It's kind of like the reason I liked Sanitarium so much. But if it's a slow burn and if it also gets frustrating and redundant, that obviously is not great. Yeah.

Speaker: well But like I do want to give it a chance, though, because it looks so interesting.

Speaker: Well,

Speaker: where then do you think you would put it? m This is tough because put the seventh guest as 91 at 91 because we're absolute menaces that don't like that game. That game sucks.

Speaker: It's not great. um seems That game's so terrible. Why do... Anyway. Love it because ah because it was an innovative game and nostalgia. Let's be honest. There's a lot of nostalgia around Seventh Gust. Around one of the worst games ever. Okay. Jeez. I am around the 99 mark.

Speaker: Missing. Okay. Missing since January. You always have to say like that. Missing since January. Yeah. I think this is the this is our ah mediocre block. That's our mediocre block. Yep. Yep.

Speaker: Do you remember when the mediocre block used to be like 30s and 40s and now it's 99? I know, I know. And when it used to be five games and now it is like 30 games. in our media yeah i i I don't disagree.

Speaker: yeah i'm not I'm not against that. I think yay the shattering as our new tab, tab, tab, tab our new number 99. Nice. Okay.

Speaker: I'm into it. Yeah, let's do it. All right. Let's do one more. One more. And then we got to get out of here because I'm hungry. I got to go to bed. You're shopping for a car in the damn morning.

Speaker: I'll let you guys know how it goes. Yeah, right please. Keep us updated. This is from this is another 2020 game. Wow. I know. that day but I have to see if it even exists because this happens sometimes. It does happen. Yeah. Where these this doesn't. Okay.

Speaker: It's it's from you can maybe you can help me this time. It's by a developer called Moonlit. Okay. It's called Pocket Dreadfuls.

Speaker: um Pocket Dreadfuls. yeah Sounds made up. um All I'm finding are plushies. That are called plushy dreadfuls.

Speaker: That are pocket-side. I'm not finding red finding anything. I'm finding like penny dreadfuls. Yes, that's a type of ah this type of book that was ah popular in the 1800s.

Speaker: well then And this is clearly supposed to be... um But i don't so I don't... There's nothing, though.

Speaker: Okay. Oh, my God! did you find it? Pocket Dreadfuls was announced around... I'm sorry that I'm i'm reading the... um I'm reading the AI summary at the top of Google. I mean, if that's all we got. Yeah. But Pocket Dreadfuls was announced around 2018 to 2020 by Davecki Studios as their plan... By Davecki Studios ah as the follow-up to...

Speaker: shape-shifting detective in Dark Nights with Poe and Monroe. However, production was heavily delayed by COVID-19 pandemic and shifted priorities, and the studio ultimately pursued other projects like Murderous Muses instead. So, fuck it. We're cutting that. All right. We got to cut it. Yep. um All right.

Speaker: This next game, so thankfully, we I always keep us an extra. This is a game from 2024. This is interesting looking. um It's a game from 2024. It's by White Blanket Games.

Speaker: okay It's called Midnight Scenes, A Safe Place. Okay. Midnight Scenes, a safe place. Hey, it's 30% off.

Speaker: Oh, cool. um It's a pixel art game. wo It's a supernatural horror game.

Speaker: it it's It cuts between like very cutesy, AGS-style pixel art that looks almost side-scrolly and these more detailed, kind of scary-looking, realistic...

Speaker: It's close up to portraits. Yeah, I think maybe on a but on a lesser in a lesser way, Hobbs Barrow. um There's like close ups of characters like faces or I don't I don't know if you've played this game, Matt, but it's kind of giving me the dark half vibes, which was an adventure game adapted from Stephen King's book, The Dark Half. terrible fucking game. Don't play it. Do not play it.

Speaker: Horrible game. Okay. It's, but it's for those who have played it it's giving me that vibe, but obviously this is way more polished and and better looking. Honestly, this is my jam. So this is from a series.

Speaker: Oh my gosh. This is the same people who did the supper. look I loved The Supper. Well, there you go. It's a game you can get for free on Steam. And it's such a short horror game. And it's just a, you know, a cool silly little horror point and click. But yeah, they they've done a so a bunch of these. Nice. Why do we not know about these people? don't know because this is my jam. that especially I played one of their fucking games. Yeah, this is i I'm like, i have such a type.

Speaker: I feel like I'm being ah like giving favoritism to a certain type of game. But yeah, it is. um These are there's a lot. Yeah, they've done. OK, so there's so not only is Midnight Scenes a series, they've done a bunch of other games.

Speaker: They did a game called Unwelcome. They did a game called The Librarian. They just do these pixel art horror games. Yeah. I am. You made scenes among graves. That came out in 2026, March 17.

Speaker: So. I'm into these. Yeah, I am too. They look short. Yeah. In fact. Yeah, it says here that Midnight Scenes, a Safe Place, is between 60 and 90 minutes long. Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm... And I'm fine with that. I'm absolutely fine with a short horror game. In fact, I prefer it.

Speaker: Who's the... So, okay. It says the developer... so the developer is i think one person who worked on Thimbleweed Park called Octavi Navarro. Okay, cool.

Speaker: I think there's, I think this is a shame on us situation. i think this is a person that we should know. This is a person who we already, it is, it is a little, does not reflect well on our expertise.

Speaker: It does not. That we don't know Octavi already. So where do we, so, okay. The, This game is ah short and it's like a ah little bite-sized thing. So that's going you know, a 60-minute game is not going to make it to the top 10. No, no, no.

Speaker: um But it's got to be above. But it's well above the average, the the mediocre block. Because this looks... i mean it's above this darker, which we put at 41. This does look exceptional. So I right now on my screen, i am around.

Speaker: um I'm around Astro ask ask I can never i can never pronounce Astrologaster Astrologaster and like Pine Hearts and Wave Tale Midnight Girl. And for some reason, Dark Earth. I've been that in that chunk there.

Speaker: Dark Earth should be higher. um Yeah. So, yeah, I could see it being around Pine Hearts. You know what? i I would probably put it above Chinatown Detective Agency at at least. I could see it going higher.

Speaker: Sure. But i could I would put it above Chinatown because this there's got there's a similar sort of... I'm having similar sort of emotions to it.

Speaker: Yeah. As I had looking at Chinatown Detective Agency, but people, there have been some complaints about Chinatown Detective Agency where they, I don't see any complaints about midnight scenes. Sure. um Do you think it goes higher than that? Do you think it goes all the way up towards Clam Man?

Speaker: Not yet, but I might, i might give these a go. Would you put it above Goblin's Quest? No, I'm not going to put it above Goblin's. Would you put it above Lure of the Temptress? No.

Speaker: Would you put it above Orion Burger? I wouldn't. Honestly, i wouldn't. I wouldn't. I wouldn't. But you would put it above Chinatown Detective Agency. Yes. Interesting.

Speaker: Okay. All right. All right. All right. I... i I will see because here's the thing. Oh boy. I feel like you, I feel like we are becoming a little comfortable with this idea of, oh we can always just play it and then change its rank. And then we don't, but but there's a good chance. We're not going to play most of these games.

Speaker: But these games look great. And we can like read we can, like, play a ton of them for, like, spooky month? Come on! As you're saying, this is different. I got the i got this distinct image in my head of you grabbing me by my lapels and yelling that in my face.

Speaker: Nomad, this is different! This

Speaker: Um... Gotta trust me When have I ever been wrong? and When have I ever been wrong one time? Your hair's all frizzled. Your eyes are bloodshot.

Speaker: Losing my mind. All right. All right. Yeah, let's put it here. Let's put it at 39 midnight scenes. But... You know what that does? That kicks Christopia, a puzzle journey out of the top 50. Oh, no.

Speaker: Well, the good news is you own it. And if you want to play it and change it, you can change it.

Speaker: Hold on. Where's, where's, you know, honestly, so I'm so stoked about Jazz and Faust. Okay. Okay. Because you you have a working, you can play yeah one of our listeners actually sent us sent me a working copy of Jazz and Faust. Amazing. Yeah. So, i no matter how stoked I am about Jazz and Faust, every time I try to think of the name of it to make a joke about it,

Speaker: I can't, I keep thinking of the movie Hobbs and Shaw and then I can't get back then. Once I've thought of Hobbs and Shaw, I can't get back to Jazz and Faust. So there's so many times that I pause and I'm like, and it's because I'm like, I want to make a joke about Jazz and Faust. But what was it called again? Hobbs and Shaw. No, it's not Hobbs and Shaw. It's not fucking Hobbs and Shaw. No, it's not Hobbs and Shaw. Fuck. Tango and Cash.

Speaker: Tango and Cash. Rizzoli and Isles. All right. I think that's enough show.

Speaker: Okay. That's enough. It's enough podcast. We quit. No. That's enough show. Bye. wait we just oh Wait. No, no, no. I think that's enough for today. I think, I think we've done a podcast. How about you?

Speaker: Yeah. I think we did a really good podcast. I think we're very funny and very entertaining and people love us. All right. Well, they did until they heard you say that. And now and now they hate us. And now we're their least favorite.

Speaker: Damn it. I'll take it. Well, no, then what that you say? you have to. Yeah. Follow.
