Game Master and Players Introduction
00:01:12
Speaker
Hello and welcome to Ever On Your Need and actually play podcasts at the Eberron campaign setting. I'm your Game Master Eric. I'm Phillip. I'm Trevor. I'm Randy. I'm Jeff. What? What'd he do? You did nothing. Phillip was struggling with the headphones. I put them on wrong and they were sliding down and I was trying to get them in the right place.
00:01:37
Speaker
Well, usually it's just me doing something stupid, so... That's true. And then it was my turn. I'm looking at your eyebrow right now thinking... I'm about to put 12 coats of Elmer's glue on my eyebrows, so... Pretty stupid. What happened last time? Can I believe you're keeping that take?
Raynard's Unexpected Kidnapping Request
00:02:02
Speaker
We found out the shocking information that Raynard has both requested and received the kidnapping of Norse and Hildheim. And no one was grateful. We were taken aback. You are correct. No one was grateful. I got a mass murderer off the street. It was the consultation part.
Communication Issues Among Heroes
00:02:26
Speaker
It was the inform and consent thing. Yeah.
00:02:31
Speaker
You're right, you're right. We're not mad at you. But we're not glad at that. Well, not all heroes communicate. That's true. Classic. Classic rage. Not all heroes communicate. It's Gandhi, right? Oh, no, it's which version of the man. Agatha and stuff.
Statue Heist Begins
00:02:53
Speaker
Anyway, then we went to try and steal the statue. And we ended with Hob jumping through the skylight.
00:03:00
Speaker
and Cath. We frankly kind of hemmed and hawed about how we were going to do this a whole lot and then we smashed down the window and just went for it. We came up with 17 clans and they did the first thing we thought. Okay so yeah Hob and Cath are on the dais in the little gallery area that the statue is located in. It is still on the moving platform so it's on wheels so it'll be easier to move
00:03:26
Speaker
Hob, were you holding on to the chain as you dropped down? I hooked it into my strap across my chest. Perfect. Okay. And yeah, the man, woman, and child that are decorating for the gala the following night, see you and start, and Hob has just told them to run. And they are going to do so. It's going to say combine to make one. They pull out their wands.
00:03:53
Speaker
Hobb is actually telling Cass to run to the statue. We got to get it. I took it as... No, he was. I was confused. That may have been how they took it. Everyone needed to start running because I started running probably right at them to get to the statue. This is Kyle booking it. Big old Hobb. You should insert that song that's like doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo. Run.
00:04:19
Speaker
You know, it's like a TikTok. Oh, yes, I know what you're talking about. No idea. It would make sense. The reason I know it's an old Breitbart ad, which is really neat. The kids will know. The kids will know. They'll know. Laura will guarantee it. Okay, so, yeah, Hob, you're just sprinting straight at the statue with the chain.
00:04:43
Speaker
Yeah, okay. Oh wait, no, no, no, sorry. If the statue's on wheels, we're not gonna take the chain all the way to it. We're gonna take the chain. Yeah, just bring the wheels. Yeah. I just held onto the chain to get it down. Okay. Unhooking and running. Okay.
00:04:58
Speaker
So, Kath is in step next to you. The man picks up the child as the woman runs and pushes the doors open and they go sprinting out. You can hear them like shouting for help like because
00:05:14
Speaker
They didn't know you were going for the statue.
Challenges in Moving the Statue
00:05:17
Speaker
It was just these people dropped in and started running at them. So yeah, you hear cries for help. And then you can hear some muffled responses, but it's not close enough to hear anything. So you're just going to try to wheel the statue back over. My thought is with the two of us together, we ought to be able to get this thing moving, get it there. We'll hook it up. One of us will hold on, and the other one will hit the button.
00:05:44
Speaker
So, what skill? Pitch me on a skill. To get it to push it? To get the thing done. To get it hooked up to the chain and ready to go. Coordination? You're coordinating. Yeah, it would probably, to a company, or to all of that stuff, it'd probably have to be a coordination skill. Okay.
00:06:05
Speaker
Oh, let's see if there's one I'm better at. Intimidation. Coercion. You're going to coerce the statue. It's a person. Yeah, right. It's true. I wish I could say athletics, but I think athletics just gets the statue to the hook. They have to be in coordination to make sure that I do it properly. What are your ranks in coordination? I've got one rank. I've got a yellow and a green.
00:06:27
Speaker
Okay, so you can make that two yellows, one green, because you can use Cath's ranks in coordination to supplement your own. And the difficulty...
Hob's Tattoo Power Saves the Day
00:06:39
Speaker
You are also... Are you accounting for the boost you get from the tattoo that we did? Oh, that's right. So you get an extra rank. So just turn your green into a... Yeah.
00:06:50
Speaker
Okay, and for the difficulty, normally something this complex would be hard, but thanks to it being on wheels from Aerosys Check, you get to reduce that down to two purple. And I'm gonna use a story point to one purple and one red. Yes. Okay, there it is. Oh my gosh. What? Okay, so. I have failed. But how badly?
00:07:18
Speaker
I mean, it's a single, it's a one fail, your icon remains. You can, with that tattoo, you can deplete it. In other words, it will stop functioning, but you will get to add two successes to the check. Yeah, which will get you there. Then we're going to deplete it and that changes it to
00:07:39
Speaker
one success and four advantage. Okay, so yeah, you wheel it over there. Yeah, you have a brief moment of trying to get it up on the dais that it doesn't seem like it's going to make it and you're able to tap into the power of that tattoo to give you the last little bit of strength you need to get it up there. And you have the chain hooked up. What about the advantage?
00:08:06
Speaker
I will say this, I think I have, I tell Cath to hold on since she weighs less than I do. It seems like it'd be easier for Tasha to get, and then I'll, after there.
00:08:16
Speaker
Up in it, I'll teleport on. Okay, that's going to be a piloting thing though, which you could benefit that with your advantage. I think I have to. I think I definitely want to target with two of them to target a boost to that check, whichever one of us has to make it. It will be the areas to keep it under control.
00:08:37
Speaker
And then with the other two I will I don't know I don't have your strain to recover nope You could target to boost Yeah, you know what?
00:08:52
Speaker
Is there a role associated with me pushing a teleport button and hoping I land back on the boat? No, it is a piece of equipment that Eris has created. It will work as intended. Not to insinuate that she does any wrong. No, of course. How dare you? Can I use two advantage to impose a setback? Yeah. Yeah.
00:09:19
Speaker
If a group gets here before we're gone, I'd like to put a setback on their first check to try to attack me. Okay, cool. Okay, so now we need to get elevation and basically make sure that you don't smash Catherine's on it on the way out.
Post-Heist Escape and Security Concerns
00:09:38
Speaker
Catherine's statue.
00:09:40
Speaker
So I assume Sana's on the winch or, or whatever it is. Yeah. Uh, okay. So I have a boost from this. Okay. Uh, and what's my difficulty? Difficulty is going to be too purple. Uh, but given the complicated nature out of setback. Oh, all right. Uh, spend one of them story points. This, uh, really like this to not go wrong.
00:10:13
Speaker
I don't think it did. It feels like it went right. Yeah, that's ever so much. That's four success, and then the rest is canceled. So yeah, four success. Okay. So yeah, Hob, from your perspective, Cath grabs onto the statue and zoos straight up as Tasha begins to elevate as the winch is pulling up in time.
00:10:35
Speaker
I mean, we ran it up there together, so I'm standing underneath it looking. Basically, once they're both off-loaded and into the boat, I'm going to push that button. Like I said, some check moved security even further away, so you're able to hit the button and you're gone before anybody even gets in there to
00:10:56
Speaker
to see what happened um so hob lands back in the boat safely um and kath is going to make an athletics check to climb the chain up into the that's good down there sure kind of kind of wish i'd hot targeted that boost hob appears cheese it hmm yeah go go go go go all right
00:11:29
Speaker
No sharp turns. You're sweating crazy down there, buddy. Eris looks back to us and says, you can retract it. I'm
Debating the Statue's Fate
00:11:37
Speaker
working on it. There's a lot of weight on it. I'm trying not to. We go. OK, and so after a bit of time. I would like to help her crank the winch. I have to assume. Once the winch is fully up, you are able to pull Kath into the boat. So are you all headed back to Dask to drop this off?
00:11:59
Speaker
To the horse and hearth? I think so. I don't want it. I don't want it. Do you want it? I don't want it. I don't know what to do with it. I can't fix it. Can't what? I can't fix it. Okay. Take it back where it belongs. Not where it belongs.
00:12:26
Speaker
Well, at this point, it is. I mean, here's... We simply don't know. I know. I don't have anybody to do anything about it. I don't have anything to do about it. I can't do anything about this, but... About what? About him being stolen? Right, I don't know how to fix that. Right, sure. And I'd be afraid to try. And he agreed to be that. We need to make a Jeff Hobb delineation here.
00:12:56
Speaker
He agreed to be in this state. Now is it right that he had to get to that point? No. But this was the agreement made to get him out of his debt. There are a lot less than ideal ways people do things around here that we are still
00:13:14
Speaker
um words with words for points let's go to task eloquent eloquent hop i don't know what's happened to me sauna says hop stares at her for a second he goes i know something's wrong
00:13:34
Speaker
I do have a healing spell. I cannot imagine healing is gonna take care of this. Probably won't undo education. But go ahead and see what bounces off of it. You fixed a couple of chips in the stone here and there.
Humorous Assumptions About the Statue
00:13:47
Speaker
Say what? Transfers his soul into something random by accident. I've done that before.
00:13:55
Speaker
I mean, it would, it would probably be, um, you would have to do restoration and reviving capacitated. So that would make it a, um, a four purple check.
00:14:13
Speaker
Eris doesn't know what anyone's capable of, so... Yeah, no, I'm not doing it. Okay, you asked! I was making a joke this the one time I suggested I have a healing spell. This random person none of us know is not worth getting Dask angry at us right now. Oh yeah, do we recognize him?
00:14:28
Speaker
no just very very very handsome man in a in a pose like a great general holding a sword just very very regal oh man they even let him pose he got to pick what pose he wanted yeah wait no no no he is decorated on he is decoration we are just made a bunch of assumptions that he got to pick we made a bunch of assumptions that he's upset he's there
00:14:53
Speaker
If we're going to assume, let's run the gambit, baby. Yeah. We just took him away from a party. Okay. We're going to have a real good time. Okay. I want to, uh, Hobwood, Hobwood votes to take him back and just get him straight to desk, go back to horse and horse. Be like, here's your, here's your stone, man. You're stoneman. Okay. So, uh, that's just Hob's thing. What do you guys think? That's that's, that was the job. So Rainard's in.
00:15:23
Speaker
Eris has voiced her position on this. Oh no. Yeah. So Milo said, let's take him back. I mean, if we can't fix it and hob doesn't think we should fix it, I don't want to keep him. Oh no. So he's going back to task.
00:15:41
Speaker
Okay, so yeah, you all head back to the district of the city that the horse and hearth is in, which would be... He's purred happily again. Also an interesting pronunciation of horse. Horse and horse. Horse and horse. And that part of the city is a neighborhood in the city.
00:16:11
Speaker
The story of this D&D session is, it's an adventure. Ask anyone. They'll tell you. We're all here. Tavix, right? It's lower, lower Tavix. Is it lower Tavix? I thought that was, I thought that was Dask's space.
00:16:34
Speaker
No, but remember it was it's North edge because they moved into a Boromar district and took over Galanda. Fair enough. Yeah.
00:16:50
Speaker
Yeah, you all are in North Edge. Pull up to the horse and hearth. And yeah, you're you're able to lower to where the statue can be set on the ground and the chain can be removed easily. You did have to leave the little platform with the wheels behind, but tragic.
Delivering the Statue to the Boromar Clan
00:17:09
Speaker
Um, okay. So is everybody going in? Harris is not going in. You don't want Harris in there. I don't, I mean, I do, but it's not there the first time. So there was a chair ready for you though. You should go in and see if they notice that we swapped.
00:17:25
Speaker
Yeah. Right now it'll go away. I mean, I assume Hobb will be the one pushing and rolling the statue in. I don't want to say for long. I want to be like, here's your statue. There's no wheels anymore. Oh, right. You should say that. So I guess. Okay. Like everyone in this place was, was gigantic. Surely someone in this place can come out and easily lift this thing. I go to my monosyllabic troll friend at the bar. Oh.
00:17:52
Speaker
Guy? You don't remember my name, do you? Grom. Grom. Grom. Was it Grom? Grom, yeah. I say, uh... Grom? Hi. There's a, uh, big... He wouldn't know, would he? He probably doesn't know what we had just done. Maybe, maybe not. He just... Um... We got the delivery, we were asking. Oh, they're back there. Well, right, but it's quite large. I could use a hand. Can you step around for just a moment?
00:18:20
Speaker
OK, and he puts his. He stopped. He was he was wiping in heads around the bar, but still this was built by halflings, so he is like duck waddling around the
Grom the Troll's Assistance
00:18:34
Speaker
statue. Stand up in here. You're going to lay it on the floor. You're going to have to tip it over to get through the door. But once it's in, but once it's OK, I mean, it's not built for halflings. It was just not built to account for him. And he as he gets outside kind of stretches, you hear some vertebrae pop as he like, I
00:18:50
Speaker
I hate working here. That's rough, man. Yeah, that's rough. Rough. Then we take the statue in, and you see it inside, set it down, and I... Welcome back! Right, I'm still in the wrong place, right? Yeah. And then I... Raynard, are you here? Yeah, who's your friend? Oh, you don't remember him last time. Shh, don't tell him. Don't tell him. I don't like his voice. This is a female harpy.
00:19:21
Speaker
I like making friends! What do you think, pal? You wanna make a friend? No.
00:19:32
Speaker
I'll friend it up here. Thank you. She screeches at you. Roll initiative. No. Um, okay. So, um, yeah, the doors are shut back to the back area where you had your meeting, but we're not doing this for payment, right? No, this is making right. Right. So I don't necessarily need to, you're not going to tell that like, I mean, okay. Yeah. No, here's the thing. Yes. If, you know what? Hey, Grom, there's this sort of thing I need to like,
00:20:03
Speaker
Show my face, I don't know if we did it or are we cool, you think? Uh, I mean, if you just want to leave it here and go, that's, I mean, I guess that'd be fine. Uh, if, if you're in a hurry. Kind of in a hurry. Uh, Han just knocks on the door, gesture, if it opens, he gestures to the statue. Good.
00:20:26
Speaker
That's the right one. Yes, thank you. Anything I need to, uh, relate to... Satan? Mr. Bormar? I don't know what I call him when I'm talking. We will relate to your employers our satisfaction. Say, will you? Is that what you... We will. No, you will. Alright, great. Well then, have a great night. Thank you. Shall we reconsider the no pay situation? Nope, nope, nope, nope. Who is your new friend? No, we like it. I just, um...
00:20:55
Speaker
You know, throw it out there. Is this Ray not? Why is everyone here? You see very let me physically describe the person that you're interacting with. Yeah, you need the three people you see. I should listen to our podcast.
00:21:16
Speaker
especially episodes where you miss.
Encountering Unusual Characters
00:21:19
Speaker
You see three people sitting at the table. One is a very handsome male Medusa with snake hair just kind of lounging. That's where the statue came from. On the right hand side is a werewolf that is eating something bloody and in between them the one that you're speaking to is an oni. So it is a massive
00:21:42
Speaker
person with lidless eyes that are like saucer big, a giant smile with sharp teeth. I think just pulling up a reference image for you. That's your target. Yeah, I don't like him. So what was you were saying about payment? He was saying that we and I just hand a gold coin to him.
00:22:11
Speaker
Thank you. Thank you. Yes. I loved doing it. Good. Is our business concluded? No, I'm going to talk to him. I lost one goal.
00:22:42
Speaker
Oh, that was magnificent. I love that. Hang on, I won't repeat it. I don't know what he looks like. Yeah, but does he have eyebrows? That makes two of you. Oh, there's
Trevor's Character's Humor
00:22:58
Speaker
another one. Oh, I like him better. Yeah, I thought you might. He's got visible abs. Well, he also has his face covered up. Visible abs, not visible face. Much better, Oni.
00:23:08
Speaker
Um, okay. So, uh, you all return outside. You see Eris, Kath, Son, Milo, did you go in or did you stay in the car? Boat. Ship. Tasha. I stayed out. Okay. With Tasha. So, uh, you two exit to see the rest of your cohorts, uh, in the boat. Um, okay. Well, I guess that's that.
00:23:36
Speaker
Donna says. Right. Let's just, uh, let's get out of here. Let's go back to the, go back to the for sales. Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. Okay. Okay. Very well. Uh, so yeah, you all head back to the for sales. Is there any debriefing you all are going to do or y'all just headed home? It is very late at this point. I guess my first question is so Eris, do you have a date tomorrow?
Eris's Surprising Date Revelation
00:24:05
Speaker
Oh yeah, we gotta go shopping. What? Oh, you really need to listen to the podcast.
00:24:13
Speaker
No, I know about it because we talked about it. Raynard does not know about it. Yeah. Harbin, the guy that you had kidnapped, his son asked Eris to the Gallat farm. But he will not like me, I'm sure. He doesn't know about what you did, though. You don't have to tell him. And honestly, when did I start caring? That's not a relevant point of fact. That's not a relevant data point in not liking Raynard. That's fair. I like you, though. Thank you.
00:24:43
Speaker
He doesn't like you. What, Milo? Would you please forgive my transgression and I would love to accompany you. Well, Hobb told me to shut up earlier, so unless I say yes to Milo, I'm not going to have a date for tomorrow night. I will go with you. You don't need it. You told me to shut up earlier.
00:25:09
Speaker
Yeah, I probably did. You know how we love to have fun at these parties? You don't have to have a date. I always enjoy myself at your at your parties that you have at your house. Okay. I just... I like that we're still going to the club. I would definitely go with you, Sana. Great. I guess that makes you my date. I do not like it when you're upset with me knowing this. Unless I want to go ask the oni.
00:25:33
Speaker
Oh, I was gonna go with... Cat says. Yeah, Kath and I are pretty good. You weren't there. We all kind of already paired up. I don't understand. We'll get that gold coin back then. I don't have to go. That's... But we already have the... We got the statue. But we have an opportunity to go. Like, free food, drinks. It's fun. I mean, it's a downtime episode. Harbin seemed like he wanted you to go. No, I don't. We don't need to. He's doing that.
00:26:05
Speaker
you would be going together but you don't have to be on a date yeah no date doesn't mean like date it's like I'm not ha Milo and I are friends we just you go with somebody so that you have somebody to stand with talk to a way in because they have a ticket and you don't that's also true and it's a way to not be lonely
00:26:28
Speaker
How are you getting it? You're a sneak in. I bet Raynard's family has tickets. Raynard's family has tickets. No love for Raynard. And the future father- It might be a good idea. It might be. It might be. You know, it might not be a bad idea, Eris, to get to know Harbin a little better.
Raynard Proposes a Family Dinner
00:26:50
Speaker
Why not? Wait, what?
00:26:52
Speaker
I'm sorry, that was silly. Why? Why would it not be a bad idea? Well, if he's going to take over Millhatch Industries. Because, yes, you're going to learn more of his character. He's going to take over Millhatch. I know that his father's kidnapped. OK, but you both like things. Ed, Ed, Ed, Ed, wait in need for stuff.
00:27:19
Speaker
Persons. Places. Nouns in general. How do you feel about it? We're trying to set up a downtime episode. Look, I don't know what's going on now. I also am lost.
00:27:44
Speaker
But is it not a bad idea for us to show up at a place we just burgled? I mean, honestly, yeah, it's pretty not the best idea for me and Kath to be there. Yeah, Kath and Hob were the only two that were seen.
00:27:59
Speaker
or heard me. I did nothing the whole time. I know. I don't know why I went. I was sitting there next to you just in silence. Everyone went and honestly didn't seem to be necessary, but we didn't know at the time. It was fine. I had fun. I mean, me too. I got to tell a child to run away. Eris' head is just down on the controls. Do you know what time tomorrow night you're supposed to meet your family?
00:28:27
Speaker
No, it just feels important. Just a tomorrow night. Like late? You want to see the note because it's very vague. I don't even know where. Well it says home, so assuming... Oh well I do know the way they're there. I've been there. What is home really? It's not very specific though, really.
00:28:49
Speaker
Well, maybe if if it was my home, their home, then the vagueness would lead to some form of deniability. Are you sure you used to be in the house, Flarn? Well, who's talking to him right now? Okay. I know where it is. What time are you planning on going over there?
00:29:20
Speaker
I don't know. Should we bring ahead and ask for? Honestly, that's where I thought you were when you were on this job was touching base with your family to get more specifics. I didn't realize you were sitting around waiting on Solomon. Everyone interested in going to your family's house that you were invited to for dinner. Food hop you like food.
00:29:47
Speaker
I like, they might have cabbage. I love food. I also love avoiding deeply uncomfortable situations. No. They don't even like you. You think I'd let you bring friend? Hang on. Rainard. They're not happy with you right now.
00:30:05
Speaker
They just did a very big dangerous thing on your request. And your first thought is, I should probably make them feed my friends. So you don't want to meet my family? No, I don't want to meet your family. That has nothing to do with any of this. I just don't want to meet people's families. I think it could be fun. I never brought friends home.
00:30:36
Speaker
Never had friends. Rainard. Rainard, I want you to be honest with me for a moment. If you think that you might need me there when you meet your family, then I will go with you. Because regardless of all previous indications, we are a team.
00:31:04
Speaker
But if you want me to meet your family and have dinner with them on the night that you talk about the way they abducted someone for you, then no, I will not be attending now. What is it you want from me? I'd like the same evening, really. So you're not interested in being open for a moment. All right, thank you very much. Here's the thing. If they want to kill me, they're going to kill me either way.
00:31:35
Speaker
if they wanna kill you, they're gonna kill you either way. You're not making a good case for going to your family's
Debating Raynard's Family Crest
00:31:40
Speaker
house. Sometimes it's just your time. Oh my God. Well, not sometimes, the one time it's just your time.
00:31:54
Speaker
That's on the family crest. Sometimes it's just your time. Can't argue with that. Dumb as hell. Can't say that. Can't say what I wanted to say just now. You can if you clap. No, I don't want to make Derek dance. Does Aris want to go?
00:32:13
Speaker
I don't know what's happening anymore. I have become entirely lost as to the topic of this conversation because a little bit ago it was about this gala at the place we just robbed and now we're talking about having dinner with the family that produced Raynard. She says that. I am very different from my family. That may not be a good thing. And also...
00:32:42
Speaker
Is it dinner? Is that what's really happening? Or is this come interrogate Norse and mill hatch or come figure out what? Why live in ourselves? What to be done with Norse and mill hatch? Because one of those things I might want to do. But I don't want to have dinner with your family.
00:33:01
Speaker
Fine. So then we don't go at dinner time. We go to the gala and then afterwards we go interrogate Northson Millhatch. Right, yes. I'll just go with Harbin to a fancy dress party. Right. And then afterwards I'll say, excuse me, I have to go interrogate your father who's kidnapping my friend arranged. Also, by the way, your father's a mass murderer. I could ask my family to throw our own gala and then you could bring Harbin to be reunited with his father. Oh my god.
00:33:30
Speaker
It's just a big day of family reunions. Does Raynard have any melee defense? Melee defense? Yes, melee defense one. Iris punches Raynard. We're like five damage. Not a whole lot. This was yours too. Oh, nice.
00:33:58
Speaker
These are all blank. Yeah, that was like the most successful role I've made in a very long time. How many times has theirs hit you in this campaign? Three? I think this is three. I think this is three. It's at least two. I think I thought this was the first. It's five. It's never rolled. Yeah, she hit you outside the police station that time. Oh yeah. It's five.
00:34:21
Speaker
Five damage. Well, mine is, mine is soak. Three damage with your soak. Reynard, you just got punched. Rebuttal. Hold on. Eris is not tall. She punches you in the gut. Okay. This is the first time she's done it with a cyborg hand. Oh yeah. She depletes it into your gut.
00:34:51
Speaker
Rainard. Well, I don't think he knows what to say. Okay. We're not interested in meeting your family today, but we would like, it sounds like, to have a go at Norse and Millhatch. We also don't want to get all, um, worked up at a gala before we do that. Well, my family has to be taught, so I think we're going to have to meet them to get him. And we don't have to be bad to Harbin, either.
00:35:19
Speaker
I'm not sure what she means by that, but sometimes Hob just repeats things here. He proposed that we take Harbin to meet... Oh, that was trash. That's why she punched him. He's probably wondering where he is. I know he's wondering where he is. We know, because we heard him. And we know where he is. Yeah, really bad way to show him where he is, Raynard. If you can't start a relationship, honestly. I'm starting to think you're a cartoon, Raynard. Instead of a real person with thoughts and feelings.
00:35:48
Speaker
Well, when you've used alcohol to think and make your judgments for so many years, and then you just stop drinking it.
Eris's Frustration and Exit
00:35:56
Speaker
You get the better over time. Eris leaves the bar. We need to figure out what we're doing. Yeah, I gave you a communicator. You call me and tell me what we're doing. Right. And Eris gets in Tasha and goes back to the cauldron. Look, I would love... No, that's not true. I would ask her for a ride.
00:36:36
Speaker
So what's the plan I don't know Milo, what do you want? What are you thinking?
00:36:44
Speaker
I, at this point, I just, Asana, if you want to go to the Gala, I will go with you. If we're going to- Super obvious that Asana wants to go to the Gala. To Ray, with Raynod, then we'll go with Raynod. I thought it would be a fun group thing, but if not, no, it's fine. I can go to another Gala sometime. We've agreed to go. It would be a fun group group. Unfortunately, some D-bag scheduled them on the same night.
00:37:13
Speaker
Just a little while ago, a perfectly reasonable session. I did not have any say on when this was scheduled. Out of character. I wasn't talking to you pal. He was talking to Eric the human. A human in quotation marks at this point. Out of character, a perfectly reasonable schedule of events was offered by Sana a little while ago. Go to the gala and then go... Yes. Yes, and it's what we should do. I understand Eris' misgivings though. Yes. Come on.
00:37:43
Speaker
Especially, let's get Eris all worked up, hoping she doesn't betray what she's gonna do next. And then she gets all angry at Norsin, and she's dangerous. Yeah. This morning, this was the day we had lunch with Satan. Eris hasn't slept since we had lunch with Satan.
00:38:06
Speaker
She will have by the time we go to the gala. I just meant right now. Yes. She hasn't stopped being angry. Right. And then had new reasons to be angry. Look, excuses to be angry. Let's be honest. I don't think that we will be ill served by going to the gala. Who knows who we might see there or meet there.
00:38:28
Speaker
In addition, now, yes, Kath and I will have to take some caution if we see one of, I can't imagine the boy will be there, but other than that, we're scot-free, we're above reproach at the Gala. Yeah. Let's see what it brings us. We will all stop making jokes about Aerith and Harbin going as a date.
00:38:58
Speaker
Who was making jokes? Maybe I wasn't talking to you. She's already left, it's fine. Yes, which is why I feel comfortable openly saying it this time, because she's already left. Why can't I just want her to be happy? Well, a part of it is because you're deciding what it is that's going to make her happy.
00:39:28
Speaker
And then we can go to the Turdveil House. Is that his real last name? No. I didn't think so. It's a lab nerd. A lab nerd.
Pronunciation Debate
00:39:52
Speaker
No, it's, it's. Have I been saying it wrong this whole episode? Fearland? Fearland works. Fearland. Fearland, I think. Yeah. Fearland. Uh, I, I, I just used to say Falarn and that's very wrong. Fearland, I think is what I usually say. Fearland. Cause it sounds sweet. Fearland. It, it would be De Fearland. De Fearland. That's what it is. De Fearland. Yeah. It always sounds Swedish when you usually, when you say the whole thing. So it's, you're De Fearland. De Fearland. This is her name. We will go. Not for dinner.
00:40:22
Speaker
But I want to put eyes on Norsen Millhatch. I want to see what condition they're keeping him in. I want to know that he's alive. For now.
00:40:35
Speaker
I mean, what, do we have any indication that House, if he wants to keep him, like what if, what if we show up and there's like, okay, here you go. Well, right. We'll find that out then. But do we want to maybe address that now? So we have like a thought. No, we want to burn that bridge when we get to it.
00:40:54
Speaker
Are you suggesting we reach out to? No, I'm just saying we like brainstorm. What do we do if they give us Norse and Milhach? Like, what are we going to do with him? Well, we shouldn't take him. Well, I mean, you know, well, I mean, Reynard asked for Norse and Milhach. So it seems to me to probably be pretty obvious that they're going to give Reynard Norse and Milhach.
00:41:21
Speaker
So then what are we going to do with Norsen Millhatch? I guess, what can we do? What are our options of possibility? And then we can narrow it down from there. Well, we need to know if he knows who has him right now. Because if he knows that House of Yarlin has him, then we have to do something about that. If he just knows he's been kidnapped, then
00:41:48
Speaker
Putting on a mask and knocking him out and dropping off on the cogs is not foolproof, but it's better than a lot of other options. Yeah? We can interrogate it for a bit to who we want to. I'm not above hurt and Norse and Millhatch. This is, that was not the issue with me at any point. He's a bad man who's done bad things. So dropping them off on the cogs.
00:42:15
Speaker
OK. I mean, I'm open to other options. Should I call Iris? I got to tell her what we're doing anyway. And that's not the probability of this being a trade. What do you mean? I thought that this was you calling in a favor. Right. Wasn't this the culmination of a trade?
00:42:33
Speaker
Yes, well. Turn Vale? What? What are you about to tell us? Raynard? I'm just going to assume they're at least going to try and have me stay with them. Oh! Oh! Alright! I don't think he wants that hob. I don't think you want him on your team hob. Oh no, we don't have to take him! Raynard, if you don't want to stay,
00:43:01
Speaker
You're an adult. You've gotten away before. We'll get you away again. Is it the nicest you've ever been to be? Yeah, I know. It just hugs you. What did you say? It just hugs you. Can you get his arms around me?
00:43:27
Speaker
Actually, he's quite tall, isn't he? He probably could. Yeah. The two fingers touch in the back. He doesn't have to do this. Okay, so it sounds like... Go to sleep? We're going to go home? No, Hob can't go home. Why not? Because Hob doesn't want to spend daylight hours
00:43:52
Speaker
looking for clothes to wear to this stupid gal he knows he can't wear his dirty shirt he puts on. So, Hob is going to ask Kath and Sana if there's a place they know of that they can go and grab something more appropriate to wear really quickly.
00:44:07
Speaker
24-hour clothing shop. Oh, shoot, I forgot it was that late. What's Sharn's Walmart? New plans. And also, I don't know if they sell hob size at times. He's gonna ask Kath and Orson. Listen, I've been in Walmart. They sell some pretty large shops. That's fair enough. He's gonna ask Kath and Orson. He's gonna say, listen, do you know of a
Hob's Attire Concerns
00:44:27
Speaker
shop that opens early? Yeah. I mean, what type of clothes are you wanting to get?
00:44:39
Speaker
I need to not draw more attention to myself. Okay. Which means I need to fit in as much as possible. Okay. He slides a piece of paper with his budget across it and it ain't high because he doesn't have a lot of money.
00:44:57
Speaker
It's on a rolls her eyes and slides it back to you. Don't worry about it. It's not stupid low either. It's got to be a handful of gold. Well, actually, and she gets up and walks to the storage room and Kath kind of looks at you like so. I'm probably going to wear something probably orange, I think is like what I was thinking of wearing. So are you good with that from like a.
00:45:24
Speaker
a color standpoint. And Hop has no idea what she's intimating. So he's just like, why would that? Yeah, we're going to be wearing complimentary colors because we're going to be going together. And typically they're like at least accents like you try to match the person that you're going with.
00:45:40
Speaker
You don't say. We talked about that. We, Sana literally talked about that at the Cauldron after Harbin asked. So I just, yeah, so. Oh, no, he was not paying attention to that conversation. Okay. And then Sana comes back out with a tape measure. It's like, okay, stand. And it's not long enough just to go like this big one. And she takes your, she gets you to stand up on a chair so she can take all your measurements and everything. And Raynard, do you need anything? Are you good from an entire standpoint?
00:46:08
Speaker
No, I think I'm fine. Okay. Milo? Well, I mean, Sana, if you wish to go shopping for matching outfits, I'm more than happy to do so. Yeah, I'm going alone, so I guess it doesn't matter. You can tag along, Raynard. It's fine. It's not that big a deal. You can- You know what? I'm taking- Come on, Raynard. Yarg.
00:46:36
Speaker
We're wearing orange. Let's go shopping right now. Oh. Oh man, please do that. I will. You'll have to spend the whole night with us. I will. Oh, but she can't come to the kingdom. Oh, what a bad idea. I can't come to the kingdom. She can't come to the kingdom. I'm so happy at what a bad idea this is.
00:46:59
Speaker
We know she loves parties, don't we? Going to the gala that we just burgled before we go interrogate the guy that we had kidnapped. I'm going to ask my cop friend to be my date. Um, yes, yes, Milo. We can, um, I'll, I'll come pick you up. Um, and we can, we can go shop. I'll, I'll also have to go, uh, swing by and get Aeris also. Um, okay. Good. You know, it's, it's been a while since we've, since we've done that. Yes. That'd be fun.
00:47:24
Speaker
Okay, so everybody return to your various places of sleep. That's what I call my house. Me too. This is my place of sleep. Okay, so the next morning...
00:47:41
Speaker
Eris, you, where would Eris normally sleep? Because we've only established after a night of drinking, like drinking heavily where she wakes up. There's a loft that's been, we've established that they've, that they were going to build a loft with sleeping quarters. And there was a conversation where Olive explained to Eris that she got her own room. Yeah. So Eris, Eris has a room.
00:48:11
Speaker
Unsurprisingly, most of it is workspace now. It probably wasn't initially furnished that way, but it has, it has spread over every vertical surface. Um, but there's, there's like a little arc of clear space in a corner where there is a bed and that's where it sleeps. Nice. Okay. Um, so you're woken up to what time does Eris normally get up?
00:48:38
Speaker
It's extremely irregular. It depends on when she finally stops working on whatever stops tinkering and falls asleep. Gotcha. But if if it were the equivalent of like 745 in the morning, Eris would still be Eris would still be asleep. OK, so you're woken up to a voice calling down because all of his an early riser. So she would. Of course she is. So but you hear Sana's voice saying, Eris, we're already late.
Eris's Fashion Exploration
00:49:10
Speaker
We have to go shopping. Who is this? It's Sana and Kath. What? What? You hear much less enthusiasm in Kath's voice. Why? What? You have to go to the gala tonight with Harbin and you need a dress. I don't have to do anything. Yes, you do. This you have to do.
00:49:40
Speaker
It's going to be fun. We get to day drink. What, why is, why is this, what's the shopping for? To find a dress. I have clothes. Not any that will match Harbin's green that he is wearing. My jacket's greenish. Aeris. It's still. Is it a ladder or steps up to Aeris's loft? It's steps, like I imagine. You hear steps, feet climbing up. Metal steps.
00:50:07
Speaker
My jacket's still green where it hasn't faded. Look on the inside. Uh, you see Sana come up and Sana looks, uh, much more put together than you've probably ever, cause even at unity dinner, she's just very casual. Like she is dressed to go out on the town. Eris is in her clothes from last night. Yeah. Eris. What?
00:50:30
Speaker
This is an opportunity to show a side of yourself that you normally don't let the world see. And I want to help you discover that. A side that is different.
00:50:50
Speaker
Not better, not worse, just a different side of yourself. What's different about it? You get to go to a gala, you get to drink fancy drinks, eat fancy food. Wait, I almost got a ticket, but if I don't dress right, they won't let me go. Not necessarily. They might let you in. Because frack them. Yes, absolutely. Frack them. But
00:51:17
Speaker
Harbin seemed excited for you to go with him. He seemed like he wanted you to go with him. Did I say I would go? Is that what's happened? Yes, you did say that you would go. Oh. All right. So it would be nice. It would be fun. I promised to make this process fun. Which part? The shopping part and the gala part. I'll be there with you. Cath will be there. Hob will be there. Milo will be there. But what's this other side of me that's going to be shown?
00:51:47
Speaker
The kind that just can shut your brain off for a night. Not worry about things, not be stressed, just enjoy the moment. Yeah, what will I have to worry about tonight?
00:51:56
Speaker
nothing well at the gala nothing after the gala we'll talk but um but yeah it's just it's a good time you get to have some drinks drinks that you don't have to pay for somebody else is paying for you to eat really nice food really nice drinks you get to talk to people that you want to talk to and avoid people you don't want to talk to what is that absolute close
00:52:21
Speaker
There's a dress code. It's an excuse for people to get dressed up, to feel fancy, to feel nice. And this is a chance for you to feel fancy and feel nice. I feel nice. Well, but you don't feel fancy. Check me. Fine. Thank you. Aeris just rolls out of bed.
00:52:50
Speaker
And Sana seems elated and very happy that that's all it took. Well, I'll let you get ready and I'm ready. OK.
00:53:07
Speaker
It's Eberron, Eris, pressed the digestion in her mouth. And Asana just comes up and like, muses your hair a little bit. It's fine, it's fine, it's fine. If it was fine, why are you messing with it?
Milo's Shopping Invitation
00:53:21
Speaker
It's fine now. Okay, let's go. And we have to stop and pick up Milo, by the way. Why? Because he's coming. Why? So that he can get close to you. He's gonna wear a dress? Nope, he's gonna wear a suit.
00:53:39
Speaker
And Asana starts going down the stairs. Saved that part till after I agreed. What part? That Milo's coming shopping with me. Is that a problem? I want Milo to see me buying whatever it is. Okay, he'll be in a different part of the store. He'll be trying stuff on himself. He won't be there when you're trying stuff on.
00:54:09
Speaker
Chris walks down the stairs. Yes. Olive, do you want to come? I appreciate it, Sana, but I'm good. Thank you. Okay. Can we take... Kath and I paid for a taxi down here. If you don't want to take Tasha, we can just taxi around. That's totally fine. If you want to take Tasha, though. Tasha can come. Okay, great.
00:54:35
Speaker
Um, so Milo probably at around eight o'clock in the morning, would, would Milo be up? Uh, yes, he would be.
00:54:45
Speaker
Okay. Um, okay. So, uh, yeah, you hear a knock on your door. Um, and it's, it's Sana. It's like, Milo, are you ready? I'm definitely ready. Great. Uh, Eris is already in, we're taking Tasha around. Uh, we already picked up Eris. Oh wait, you actually did convince Eris to go. I did.
00:55:09
Speaker
Well, and Sana seems very proud of herself. Good on you. Very good on you. Thank you. Are you ready to go? I'm ready. Let's go. Great. Okay. So, um, you all take off and, uh, Sana tells you to head up to the Skyway. What? What?
00:55:31
Speaker
That's gonna... How much is this gonna cost? Nothing. That's not true. Wait, we're stealing it? No, we're not stealing it. We need to get the others if we're doing a heist. Eris, I know this is not something that you want to do, and I'm going to get just as, if not more, joy out of it than you, so I'm taking care of it. Okay? Wait, you can just do that?
00:55:55
Speaker
Yes. Well, what do you mean just do that? What do you think I'd say? You just have the money from fancy clothes? Yeah. You get paid more than me? No. Well, I mean, I have access to more money than you, but I don't get paid more, not from Boromar. Why? Why what? Because you're my friend. I want to buy you something nice. But what?
00:56:22
Speaker
What else do you do that makes you money? I help out at the For Sales with Ulfin, although he doesn't pay me, so not that. The Boromar Jobs, and I don't know. If I need money for something, my family is happy to share.
00:56:51
Speaker
You don't need the money from Boromar? No. Then why? In Calf-Kinda-Chimeson. Why what? Why what for Boromar? Oh.
00:57:05
Speaker
Well, and then she gets into it, but we're going to go and cut to the show now. Yeah. Oh yeah. Makes sense. That's awful. Yeah. Uh, no. Uh, cat says, Bob's not there, but he has a feeling. He goes, that's really interesting. Um, cat, uh, cat says, we,
00:57:31
Speaker
Our family doesn't like it. And we were, well, yeah, I mean, why would they? We used to, you know, go to school in our district and we were being prepared for a life that our parents would have liked for us. But, A, I was not welcome very often at the gatherings as a half-orc.
00:57:56
Speaker
Um, and we started spending time with people that were more accepting to me who lived in lower parts of the city. And we started to see that the world was different from what we had been raised to believe it was. And we didn't like that. And that this point sauna chimes in just like,
00:58:20
Speaker
And our family knows a lot of people in the Charne City Council. And we started attending events instead of asking around, like, how, like, if people wanted to try to help in the lower parts of the city, if people wanted to try and affect positive change outside of just our family gives a bunch of money to different organizations that try to help. But like, we wanted to physically do something.
00:58:48
Speaker
And for right or wrong, we may have been talking to the wrong people, but they pointed us to the Boromar clan as being an organization that takes care of its people and tries to I mean, once we got in, we learned like really. Punch up at the people that take advantage of people in the lower parts of the city.
00:59:09
Speaker
So we joined up with Boromar and started like doing what we do, stealing things from various organizations. And based on what we've seen and like talking with Mylon getting no Milo, it seems like Boromar at least puts some of the money back into its districts to
00:59:29
Speaker
help people. And so, um, that's, that's why we do it. And I know we don't like going on as many jobs as you all, and we're not like as entrenched, but, um, that's why we got started with Boromar is we wanted to help people that we just kind of realized, um, the, the parts of the city that we're from and had associated with weren't doing much to help them. So we wanted to try and help. And we got pointed in that direction. So.
01:00:02
Speaker
whether or not that was the right call, but we're in with Boromar now, so not like we can walk away. Why not? I mean, Boromar's influence goes a lot further than just the like, the lower, like the parts of the city that we normally operate in, like they, they control, like if we were to make the clan mad, they could negatively affect like our family, uh,
01:00:29
Speaker
Our our family's business dealings things like that through the the clans influence on the City Council and It's not just as easy as deciding one day like we don't need the money so we're not doing this anymore like We we told Boromar that we would help them and where we're in it so they rarely let people just
01:00:54
Speaker
I don't want to say they don't let people walk away because it seems like like we're worried that they would die that we would die, but that's not it. It's just we're worried that we would make enemies of them and that would negatively affect our family. So we try to stay on the right side of Boromar now that we're in with them. Does that does any of that make sense? Like I, I don't know. I feel like I'm doing a bad job of explaining it, but. It wasn't a very rational thing. It was just we saw. We saw how bad it was in the lower districts of the city and we wanted to do something.
01:01:27
Speaker
Okay. So you're stuck. For lack of a better way to put it, like unless something drastic were to change with Bormar, we wouldn't feel comfortable. Like we're not, we could walk away, but we're worried about what would happen.
Sana and Kath's Boromar Clan Motivations
01:01:49
Speaker
Um, so stuck in a sense. Yeah.
01:02:01
Speaker
Eris turns her attention back to the, back to the ride, to the, to the piloting. Bob, what are you doing? Oh, sorry, Milo, what were you going to
Challenges of Leaving the Boromar Clan
01:02:11
Speaker
say? But, but Sana, um, Kath, I mean, do you currently wish to walk away?
01:02:23
Speaker
I don't like working for Viggo. I don't think any of us do. It's one of those things to where I still believe in the good that Boromar could do, but I don't think it's living up to that right now with Viggo being in a position of power. Yes, I would definitely have to agree with you there for sure. Why does everyone let Satan off the hook for that?
01:02:55
Speaker
If Vigo's the problem, Satan could remove him. It's not like he's powerless. He very well may do so. Well, why hasn't he? Well, it might be that there are people in the organization that support. I mean, Satan. Satan runs the organization. He has no power unless the people under him believe he has power. If he does something that makes enough people angry, then he's. Right. And Vigo's just this social butterfly that everyone is beloved of all. I don't know.
01:03:24
Speaker
I have yet to encounter anyone who actually appears to like Viggo. Oh, but there are plenty of people that fear Viggo. More than they fear Satan, because if that, if it's fear, then the person you fear more wins. I've seen that. That's Satan's concern. And really, people... I don't know. I don't know him. Viggo couldn't plot his way out of a brown bag.
01:03:55
Speaker
I agree. I agree with you, Eris. I don't understand why it's somehow not Satan's fault. Why he why he gets to not own the crap that Viggo does. Oh, look, there we are, the store shopping, everyone.
01:04:19
Speaker
Hob, what are you doing this morning? I thought I was meeting Kath or Sana at a store. Yeah, they literally said they were going to pick him up. I thought because they had to pick because they had to take my living. That's why they took your measurements so you wouldn't have to. My understanding was that Hob didn't want to waste daylight hours going shopping. Well, that is true. So they took Hob's measurements so they could get it taken care of. Oh, OK, great. No, that makes total sense to me. That's even better. Then I guess Hob is if you want to go, you can go like that.
01:04:49
Speaker
No, cause now, no. Um, I have no idea what I'll be doing then. Pretty standard hob crap. I mean, going to a guy, it's like he's plucking his eyebrow. He's, um, he doesn't have one eyebrow. Does he have eyebrows? I don't think so. Okay. I think he's, I mean, he's hairless. Like a salamander.
01:05:16
Speaker
Why'd you look at me? What? Because I just glued down a lot of my facial hair. Do salamanders have hair? I rest my case, your honor. But anyway, yeah, that's what Hob's doing. Raynard, are you getting up to anything in particular? Raynard is going to go talk to Verla. Ah, yes. He's going to take Arthur.
01:05:40
Speaker
Okay. So Raynard, you cat in hand, uh, approach the lower Memphis plateau city watch station hat in hand. And if I thought I'd have to walk, you're not going to walk.
01:05:58
