Speaker: What's going on, y 'all? Welcome to What The Pod. I go by the name of DJ Tree C Tree Show, Auntie's favorite DJ and now your fairy pod mother. Welcome to What The Pod. What The Pod is a podcast that recommends new shows for you to listen to. Thank you so much for joining me on this Thursday afternoon and let's jump right into today's show.
Speaker: Podcasters, there is a new toy that just hit the market and that is the Roadcaster 2. Now the Roadcaster 1 has been an industry leader for quite some time here and you might have seen the first version on a lot of tables in a lot of podcast videos, but this new version is a beast y 'all.
Speaker: I didn't even know all of the features that was on the first one, but I took time for the second one. I'm looking most forward to not having to unplug anything on my mixer. Now I was a DJ for 10 years. A lot of y 'all know that traveling, doing my thing. The most annoying thing is having to move a chord from channel one to channel two and it's in the back of a mixer in the darkness. There is no light and you have to use your cell phone.
Speaker: It is crazy and these ports are good ports. They're not something you can just pull something in, pull something out of. With this new Rolcaster, you don't have to change the input on the back. You can change it right on the interface. I cannot wait to add this to our home studio. My wife has already approved the expense. If you're looking for a new podcast interface or something to record your podcast on, check out the Rolcaster too and let me know what you think in the comments.
Speaker: I had to throw it back to before Lotto dropped 777 and she did a Breakfast Club interview basically telling us about just the journey of getting there and what she had been through. Now before, to be honest, admittedly, I was not a Lotto fan before this album. My pledge son is a huge Lotto fan. He come to my house all the time playing the music and I was like, okay, you know, I really wouldn't feel it. But this album for me,
Speaker: It really did it. It really did it. I felt like as a, as a artist, she really just breathed life into this awesome body of work. And you can tell that she worked on every single song. They flow well together. I still think it's my favorite album of the year. It is literally still my favorite album of the sunshine. I played it at the gym.
Speaker: all the time, almost every day. Anytime the sun shines on my face, I think about that song. She killed that man. She killed that. So congratulations Lotto on your BET award. Now award winning artist. Go to my Spotify. It's in my playlist for what the pod and check it out with me today.
Speaker: The second podcast that I'm checking out today is a spinoff of one of my favorite TV shows, and that's the food that built America. The episode that I'm checking out today is entitled, Do or Donut, and focuses on how donuts became popular. Now for me, donuts are a phenomenon. It doesn't matter, now I have incredible discipline. First of all, I have impeccable discipline, I'd like to say. But it don't matter what kind of food diet I'm on, what kind of gym streak I'm on, donuts?
Speaker: Oh baby, powder, okay. It's a place called Donut Friend on Broadway down the street in LA. Oh my God, I'm having to tag Donut Friend in this video. Every time we walk to the farmer's market, we end up going to get Donut Friend. And the other Sunday we went, we got ice cream too. It's crazy. Anyway, I mix donuts, ice cream. I can mix donuts with fruit.
Speaker: Donuts, for me, are everything. I want to know why I'm so crazy about donuts, how they just became so tasty and delicious inside of American culture. And it sounds like an entertaining podcast. You should check it out with me, the food that built America, do or donut.
Speaker: Since we've moved to California, my wife points to the sky at least two to three times a week and says, look, you think that could be a UFO? Now I'm totally obsessed with aliens. I regularly go on deep dives of late night TikToks of aliens and Anunnakis and all kinds of stuff. So in my alien obsession, I realized, wait,
Speaker: Would I actually know what was happening if an alien was trying to reach out to me? What if it's happened before? I don't know. Well this podcast is supposed to tell us how. It's called Stuff You Should Know. The episode that I'm listening to is called How Alien Contact Might Work.
Speaker: I'm not saying that this is a fact of how this will work, but at least they are starting the conversation of how it might look like if you have been contacted by an extraterrestrial or if an extraterrestrial is, what if I am an extraterrestrial? Anyway, check out this podcast with me today.
