Toyobobs and Dads! Adventures in Collecting is about toys, but it might not be for your children. Especially if you don't like words like f**k, or s**t, or a f**khole. Are you ready, Oils and Holes? Get your parents' permission, check your mailbox, and grab your shopping cart. It's time for the Adventures in Collecting podcast!

Meet the Hosts and Guest

00:00:36
Speaker
I'm Eric. And I'm Dave. Welcome to Adventures in Collecting, where we talk toy news, culture, and halls, along with our journeys as collectors. Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Adventures in Collecting. And happy Halloween. It is the spooky season. We are here. Hi.
00:01:01
Speaker
Why'd you say my line? I don't know. I felt like it just came to me, Dave. I'm sorry. Well, not to bury the lead. Go ahead. Just roll with it. It's Halloween. Nothing matters anymore. Well, I mean. But not to bury the lead, but we have a guest. So.
00:01:29
Speaker
That's what most episodes are. Um, and our guest is, you may recognize him from last year's Halloween episode and from calling all creeps and, um, his own toy line that just sold out. Ladies and gentlemen, it's Dave from calling all creeps. Hi. Welcome back, Dave. Hey.
00:01:57
Speaker
Can you believe that it's been like a year since you've been on the show? No, because what a year it's been. See what happens? You have me on a podcast once and everything just fucking diarrhea is from the sky and everything is bad now. So maybe by having me on, everything will be undone. Like a, I don't know, like the end of a horror movie on the Disney Channel. All you needed to do was have me back.
00:02:24
Speaker
So this is our this is our reset. So hopefully we can undo the global pandemic and general unrest of the world. I think you guys sold your pod souls to the devil. So you got incredible guests and have had a very successful, awesome show. And in return, you fucked us. Is that what happened? Todd McFarlane came up. He was just like, hey, you know, most of this book is autobiographical to spawn shit.
00:02:54
Speaker
Uh, I got a guy to meet. You meet Malbolgia and then we all get COVID and die. And you, it's all your fault. Eric, Dave, you're fine. Anyone named Dave couldn't have done anything that bad, but Eric, on the other hand. Okay. I mean, I mean, we did sign, we did sign that very ancient looking scroll when we

Halloween and the Occult

00:03:13
Speaker
met with Todd at toy fair. So maybe I wasn't there on the first day. I can't speak to what you did or didn't do. Yeah.
00:03:22
Speaker
You think he just got the DC license just fell into his lap? Yeah, okay. All right, Todd. Yeah, so speaking of soul-sucking monsters and the occult and all things that are scary, this is the Halloween episode. That was a good segue. Are the bubbles back?
00:03:46
Speaker
the bubbles yeah weren't there bubbles last year of course we're in the science laboratory oh yeah so there they are should i turn the bubbles down the bubbles might be a little too loud yeah just like no no no you'll i'm not wearing a bathing suit so we have to keep the bubbles on it's just like to guess that toy or the name that toy music it's there i just and maybe i'm lying i don't know
00:04:11
Speaker
Yeah, but there might even be weather elements, Dave, that you don't even know about. So today is the window. I hear a cow in the distance. And now it's Twister. Great.
00:04:27
Speaker
Like the movie. Somebody call Bill. Yeah, like we're playing the game Twister virtually. You're going to have a lot of Googling to do. It's the it's it's the free. It's the thing at Universal Studios with the the cow that rolls in at the end of the the Twister ride that isn't a ride. Attraction.

Creepy Toy Theme

00:04:53
Speaker
on today's episode we are going to talk about some just kind of some general news and halls uh like we usually do and then our main topic is we're going to get into um toys that are creepy but they were not intended to be creepy when they when they were made so we have we have some fun examples to talk about but before we jump into all that let's
00:05:15
Speaker
Let's tackle some of the, the, the news that's been, uh, that's been hitting Dave. Why don't you tell us about a certain, I guess we get, we could say that this is sort of monster adjacent. Um, super seven announced a new toy of a very famous giant. Yeah. There's a second ultimate for Andre, the giant. Um, it is made to be representing his early career in Japan.
00:05:45
Speaker
And it looks pretty cool. Now, is it the same head sculpt that's on the other ones or did they did they change the hair and stuff? It looks like it's shorter hair, Andrei, because I think he did have shorter hair when he was younger. Does it sound like cool vest? Is this cool vest, Andrei the giant? Cool vest, Andrei the giant actually just got a notification is shipping soon. So you're going to love that vest. I love that vest. That's a good look.
00:06:14
Speaker
I like the fringes on it. It has the dangly fringes. Yeah, like late 70s, early 80s, Andre, yeah. I want to know where he got that vest because that's something that you would see in a thrift store and be like, oh yeah, but he definitely needed somebody to be like, I need that vest. I saw it in a Cher music video, I need that vest.
00:06:33
Speaker
There's no way that that wasn't custom made for him. There's no way. He chokeslammed a cow so hard it exploded and all that was left was the vest. That sounds more like a big show tactic, not necessarily an Andre the Giant tactic. One came before the other. One had to come before the other man.
00:06:58
Speaker
So sticking with the monster news, Dave, since we have you on here, why don't you tell us about your monsters and how that went for you. Well, my demon is drinking, Eric. I'm glad you brought that up. And I guess we're going to go around in a circle. No.
00:07:15
Speaker
Actually, funny enough, yeah, drinking is kind of what brought this together. And this seems sad, but it's not. Um, many people know I work at Zap Comics, uh, kind of my side gig, a place that I've been, uh, from childhood to my adult childhood now. Uh, and a lot of time was also spent just hanging out with all the people there, the, the fun coworkers and people we meet and the events. We always would end up grabbing a drink after things that we ended up at our local dad bar.
00:07:43
Speaker
Um, which kind of inspired, uh, an idea of a toy line since I'd say college. I used to spend a lot of time going into the city for different, uh, art shows, toy shows, whether it was kid robot toy Tokyo, when it used to be, uh, in St. Mark's on the second floor, uh, my plastic heart, there used to be, uh,
00:08:04
Speaker
different community there, less Funko centric, especially in the toy Tokyo side. Um, and I always wanted to make toys, but it was something that, I mean, like when back then it was vinyl toys, it was kid robot. And I learned very quick from some Googling that vinyl toys making at your home will kill.
00:08:22
Speaker
your pets and maybe you. But decided to start looking into 3D printing. I was teaching it to kids, taught myself how to do some sculpting. And then my extremely kind girlfriend got me a resin printer. So I was able to actually start making some more detailed sculpts. And then back to the whole drinking thing, basically needed to find a toy line or an idea kind of set to pull it all together.
00:08:50
Speaker
and went back to the nights we spent going to these horrific dive bars and the weird people that we'd meet. So basically the idea of a dive bar, the local dive bar, where all the monsters in town go to drink and wallow away in their post life. And they are, if you haven't seen the review of them on our YouTube,
00:09:16
Speaker
Definitely check out our YouTube channel so that way you could see the review of the first two die bar figures. They are amazing. The amount of work you put into them is evident and not only just by actually seeing them in hand, but the sales kind of speak for themselves, right? Because as Dave mentioned at the top of the show, you are sold through, sold out.
00:09:39
Speaker
I just have, yeah, there's two RL slimes left, which is a tie into the Calling All Creeps podcast, which is a don't sue me. It's RL slime, a child writer as a gelatinous monster. He writes children's books. It'd be weird if you like wrote a child and be like, I just wrote Jessica and be like, all right, you're going to jail. But yeah, and there's more other things I'm working on. The production takes.
00:10:08
Speaker
a long time for each one. Uh, so I'm thinking about, you know, take some time to go through some more and plus people probably don't want me to bother them with more of my crap. So should be, should be some more stuff coming soon. And then of course, maybe different colorways. So Gilly idol, uh, my plan, the creature from the black, uh, lagoon, uh, may return, uh, some form or fashion. Love it. Love it. And how, so, so how many patrons have you planned out thus far?
00:10:38
Speaker
I actually have a list of ones that I really want to do. Somebody asked like one thing too that I feel like growing up is that there's always very few female characters, especially in different toy lines.
00:10:51
Speaker
So that's one that I want to hit and I want to do it right. So I'm waiting on this one because I'm still learning sculpting, but I'm thinking the Fleetwood witch is is on its way. Awesome.

Future Toy Releases

00:11:03
Speaker
So it's an idea where it's like people around town don't know if it's just like a college hipster girl who's really into Fleetwood Mac or if it's actually a witch, which is actually a witch. Well, yeah, yeah, that's that's.
00:11:19
Speaker
Will there be, and I'm putting you on the spot with this question, any potential like Zap exclusives or Zapcon?
00:11:29
Speaker
Originally, this was supposed to be a ZapCon release, but of course, the pandemic really shot that down. There have been some conventions in the area. I've stopped in at one recently, and it's it's tough because I mean, when we do something, we're bringing people in from all over and we don't want to put somebody into a situation that could be, you know, unsafe. But we are planning things and it is
00:11:58
Speaker
still in the works and always looking for a date and a time but you know and you guys of course will have your your time there too and i'm very much looking forward to that but so yeah i would love to but as of now it's like you know it's like everything else it's a big what if
00:12:18
Speaker
That's for sure. What if is, that's the best way to put it. You know, it's, it makes no sense to make, uh, make like plans for big events at this point. Cause who, who knows? We're spiking. New Jersey spiking. Well, not in like the fun volleyball way. No, no, this is not an eighties montage. If only it were.
00:12:42
Speaker
Uh, moving on to some, some other fun news that's, that's also, I don't know why, I don't know if it's like the planning of it, but like there, it has been a lot of like fun, like monster toy news or like, you know, monster manufacturer toy news. Um, McFarland had their extended, uh, McFarland con.
00:13:03
Speaker
this past week where they announced a bunch of new stuff for the DC multiverse. They announced a bunch of stuff for My Hero Academia. They announced that they're going to be doing Princess Bride figures. Just a ton, a ton of stuff. They added a ton of stuff to show off more and more combat figures. The bloody variant editions of Spawn, Baraka,
00:13:26
Speaker
Sub-Zero and Raiden all went up for pre-order, all just kind of repainted three decos of the figures that they've already had out, but they look fantastic. Some of the DC Multiverse announcements were a little strange.
00:13:46
Speaker
Or you know, I don't want to say strange. It's not often that we get down on stuff, but with the amount of hype that they put behind their bane build a figure, I was actually a little disappointed at the at the reveal. It's Dave, you and I were talking about this. It's kind of weird that he's like black and white. Which Dave are you talking about? You, Dave. Yeah. Other other Dave. It was one of those things where like
00:14:16
Speaker
It seemed like a one sided conversation, like a comedy bit and just being like, oh yeah, I saw the pain. It's all right. I mean, could be better. I'm going to wait until it's painted. Oh, that's how it's painted. Oh, all right. Well, maybe they'll put an articulation. That is the articulation. It's like every second. I saw it and I was like, OK. And then he's like, this is it. And it just it looks.
00:14:45
Speaker
Very unfinished. And the proportions are weird. Of course, he is gray in some of the art, but like... I mean like sometimes Batman hides in shadows and can't be seen, so I'm not gonna spray paint my Batman figure all black.
00:15:00
Speaker
Like I read this entire comic and I was surprised. Like after reading every comic, every issue that he was gray because they were like, well, he's gray in the book. And I'm like, I'm pretty sure he wasn't. And even if he was like, you could add green veins. You can add any sort of cool detail that McFarland has done in these figures thus far. So I don't know. It was weird that this is something that he has been hiding.
00:15:25
Speaker
and was ready to really blow our minds with. And, you know, the lead up, you always expect something great. And I mean, it's cool, but it's not. A good like people were like, oh, I'm going to have to buy this whole line because this being will fit with everything. Could they have done a vein that would fit with everything? Totally. They did not do that. Yeah, I forget who it was on on Instagram, but they did a little Photoshop where they
00:15:52
Speaker
colored them in, you know, they gave them some flesh tone. They did exactly that. They accentuated some of the veins with some green. And it's like, whoa, OK, yeah, the head might be a little tinier. You know, it's a little more stylized, like fine. Like that part, you can easily get over because it's true. If you look at the art, you know, that that part of it, you know, the fact that the head is is a little smaller than Dan's head usually is. And, you know, the proportions being kind of skewed like that.
00:16:19
Speaker
That's fine because that is, you know, artist interpretation. He's basing it off of Capullo's art and that's evident, but like leaving him grayscale like that is just, it really kind of, uh, like handcuffs the figure a little bit. And also the shirt is super black and gray too. Like the whole figure looks like it's in black and white. There's no, I don't know, shading or lighting of anything else. So it just looks out of place next to everything.
00:16:46
Speaker
Yeah, he's got the red button on his belt and there's a green tube in his arm and then everything else is grayscale. It's definitely a choice. I'm sure people, especially people who are really big fans of that storyline are going to scoop up that whole wave. Maybe once you put Scarecrow on his shoulders and have him
00:17:10
Speaker
you know, pose that way. Maybe, you know, it kind of completes the look, but maybe I mean, it's a choice in the same way that removing your asbestos on your own is a choice. No, I don't know. I think it's interesting. People were saying like, well, it's McFarland, you know, we'll get a repaint. But people were like, but I'm concerned because the repaints we've been getting is just bronze. So, yeah, you know, and the thing is like,
00:17:37
Speaker
I'm not gonna get down on this figure and down on this line because they've, I mean, surprised us in so many ways. I hated the first line.
00:17:47
Speaker
No way am I going to get down on the line. I mean, it's, it's one of my favorite things running right now, to be honest with you, like it's, it is very much so a line of, so right. You know, whether you're talking about the, the, the WWE elites from Mattel, whether you're talking about the Marvel legends, um, you know, even some of like the smaller sub lines, like the, the Ghostbusters, uh, plasma series, right. You have.
00:18:10
Speaker
You have a line that's like, that has no valleys. Like the bad is okay. And then like the good is amazing. So like, you know, looking at the Ghostbusters line is like a small microcosm. You know, you have the four Ghostbusters and all of the four of them look incredible. And then you have Gozer who looks good. And then you have Dana who's like, this looks like Sigourney Weaver, but the figure kind of sucks. But it's not like it doesn't look bad. Like it's just.
00:18:39
Speaker
What am I going to do with this? You know, I needed it to finish the terror dog. Whereas the McFarland stuff, it's like you have figures like, you know, like the the Mortal Kombat 11 spawn, like the Arkham Asylum Joker, like the Curse of the White Knight, As you know, like those figures that are like they are peaks. Yeah, they're incredible. Everything else is valleys. Yeah.
00:19:08
Speaker
I mean like I finally saw that Batgirl figure in hand and it is such a nice awkwardly Proportioned Batgirl it's a really nice figure, but it's just huge. I have it. It's great. It's a really like the Batgirl I love it, but it's just like you put it next to everyone else and she towers over Superman Like and everybody it's just strange. It was strange
00:19:34
Speaker
because that first wave is like that. And there are certain things that they really cleaned up, but like, I don't know. I was just saying, I think it's interesting that they're doing all these like really niche characters from specific comics and specific moments, but he's doing it a little different where other lines, like, I mean, we're finally getting a stilt man in Marvel legends, which I love, but like we didn't get.
00:20:01
Speaker
a stilt man in like first wave Marvel Legends like they're and they they're not really building off of past DC lines like past DC directs the Mattel stuff just because they're doing it in their own scale in their own way. So it's kind of like
00:20:19
Speaker
Anytime they make one of these decisions for a specific Bane or a specific Batman, it's tough for them because fans, you know, they're not as they want to build back their collection and have a DC multiverse more so than like a Batman verse. But I see what they're doing. And like that Batman dark. What is it? Heavy metal bike that death metal Batman death metal Batman. That's an incredible figure. Oh, my God. That looks awesome.
00:20:47
Speaker
Especially today, the day we were recording this, they revealed what he actually looks like sitting on it, which it's like once you see the two of them together, it's ridiculous. Whether or not you are following the Dark Knight's metal story, which I admittedly am not, it's just an incredible looking piece. Yeah.
00:21:11
Speaker
But it's like, they're doing all these weird things where like, hey, can I get a doomsday? And they're like, no, you can get doomsday Batman. And it's like, oh, cool. Uh, can I get, um, I dunno, like just the Joker and they're like, we'll do him later, but first you're going to get him as a normal dude, which I love those figures and it's great.

McFarlane Toy Line Discussion

00:21:30
Speaker
It's just, they're doing all these small, like there's an entire line dedicated to like a four or five issue mini series that his friend did that is already like done selling in trade.
00:21:42
Speaker
And that's cool that he's going into these things, but like the mass appeal, they're kind of taking, you know, they're sidestepping in a way, which is cool because they'll get to it. But like it's just so different because any other place would probably release a bane that they could reprint and maybe do a second head that would be with this. But he's going full in to like the small, small microcosm of one specific
00:22:10
Speaker
Batman comics. It's like, you know, there's been the two Wonder Woman 84 figures, which I have. But then there was supposed to be Harley from Birds of Prey. And there's no other movie figures. But there's. Did they ever make that?
00:22:26
Speaker
No, cancel. But there's, but there's Steven Amell, like there's, it's, there's been some weird stuff. And the, I, the one thing that really turned me off too is that they did animated too. It's like, that's the problem with McFarland. I feel like they, they did it with like Harry Potter and he has these like general ideas of what he wants, but then in the end you don't really get like a full thing. Like you don't get.
00:22:51
Speaker
DC made the Batman animated series in the Justice League sets. And in that first wave, you'll get like, oh, I got Batman, I got Robin, I got Catwoman, I got Joker. But in this, it's like you'll get Batman and Harley Quinn
00:23:09
Speaker
but like who knows if you'll ever get, you know what I mean? Like splitting up these lines that could be separate series. Instead of fully building a collection, they're doing like, you'll get one or two and then maybe in months, maybe you'll get two or three or of another in that style. But it's even more sporadic though, right? Because like Teen Titans Cyborg rules. That figure is awesome. I want more Teen Titans or I want Teen Titans Go.
00:23:38
Speaker
But who knows when you'll get it. But then at the same time, right? So like you have, like you said, right, you have, you have animated series, Batman animated series, Harley Quinn, John Stewart, Green Lantern, which is animated series, animated series and animated Superman.
00:23:56
Speaker
animated series Superman and now you have animated series Cyborg. So like you have this kind of like smattering of animated series figures sprinkled in yet by the end of like Q2 2021 you will be able to complete your Dark Knight Dark Knight's metal set. Well they need to because I mean working in a comic shop it's like imagine if they did I don't know a Marvel original sin
00:24:25
Speaker
Marvel Legends line. Nobody would want that right now. Nobody would care. And Metal has sold, but there are characters that sell. So, I mean, yeah, Batman Who Laughs already has two figures for a three-wave line. That makes sense. He's a big selling character, but I don't know. It's very interesting the way they're going. And you have an animated side, but you have
00:24:53
Speaker
three different cartoons and three different styles right now. And they're, I mean, it's going to be like when you jump on late, collecting a line, it's like somebody hopped on and they're like, Oh, I really want to, I just was collecting power Rangers. I was like, I'm only going to get the villains only going to get the villains. Then I started seeing the figures. I'm like, all right, these are good. So then I'm like, Oh, pink ranger came out like a year and a half ago. So you have to go back like with this. Imagine if you really, really wanted.
00:25:24
Speaker
Animated bane animated bane comes out end of 2022 like you're gonna have to go back and get the Batman or you know Robin Slade comes out in two years like you're gonna have to go back to wave three to get cyborg when you're in like wave 15 because it's such like a long wait and
00:25:46
Speaker
He's stuffing the entire universe into this small line, but it's like, I don't know, it's not like something like pops or, or like blind box figures or something like this is the main DC line.
00:26:00
Speaker
And it's strange because one of the things that he mentioned to us when we spoke to him back at Toy Fair was he made it very clear that he was into, he doesn't pull any punches and is very, very clear that Batman is his priority. And that was even the case, whether he was overtly trying to send that message or not, the conversation revolved entirely around Batman. That makes sense.
00:26:27
Speaker
And he he said, like, part of what he wants to do is like he actually one of the examples he said he was like, what if, you know, and this was before the comic had come out, the adventures continue. But he was like, what if Bruce Timm had done Deathstroke or Deadshot or, you know, King Shark or some of these more like monster bad guy figures?
00:26:55
Speaker
Like, what if those figures were available in that style? And like, we were sitting there like, uh, that would be cool as hell. Which is what DC direct was doing right before they're gone.
00:27:05
Speaker
Yep. So I mean, I guess I guess it's left to be seen how people continue to respond to the line. The kind of it's hard to read it on social media, right? Because you always have you have the people that hate on everything, of course, always. And then you have the people that are borderline like apologists. I think the word that the kids use these days are stands. Right. So like people people get called after being McFarland stands. But
00:27:35
Speaker
I think I think overall the line is headed in the right direction. And I and I think, too, with like the My Hero Academia line, you know, which ones the main line is three now. Yeah, there's three now. Oof. But but yeah, I think overall the design is headed in the right direction. He's definitely listening to the feedback, you know, seeing how short
00:28:03
Speaker
Granted people are saying he's not short enough but that Damien is significantly shorter than Batman like you know they are paying attention I think that's that's the important thing and and hopefully moving forward they continue to listen and they continue to To evolve it's getting better
00:28:23
Speaker
If like for me, I'm still going to stick with like comics, comic figures that I like and, um, or that, you know, kind of remind me of old figures, um, or movie, movie and TV ones. Yeah. I'm kind of the, the way that I've been collecting them with the exception of, I did get Asriel and, and the Jack Napier Joker just because, uh,
00:28:49
Speaker
Dave you had hooked me into that white knight book so I much a good book I fell in love with those those the versions of those characters, but I'm kind of sticking to like
00:29:01
Speaker
It's it's weird. I'm almost like Kind of sort of video game verse like the life I think of like the way that the characters appeared in the Arkham games So like that deathstroke is it easy? You know easy get for me even though it's even though it's not the Arkham Knight Red Hood I need that red hood figure that's part of that two-pack even though I have to get a second diaper Nightwing It looks like a diaper I'll wind up with a nightwing, but I want that red hood as well
00:29:30
Speaker
It's just such a good figure. Like that Joker that's coming out, that that new Joker that I'm in in for. I am, too, for sure. I'm probably going to put the White Knight head on it, though, just because I'm not a fan of like the red eyed, the Visine commercial rebirth Joker. See, I wish it was death, death of the family Joker with the Ray Wyatt mask. Oh, yeah.
00:29:54
Speaker
Good figures. Yeah, that's got McFarlane written all over it. Sure does, because they still do those things extremely well, and they do a lot extremely well. Even if it's a figure that you're like, why'd they make this? I don't want this. Regardless, what's coming in the package is painted well, very solid, great joints, and it just feels good. Like that flash figure looks awesome. Yeah.
00:30:18
Speaker
I got Devastator. I don't know if we'll ever get a proper doomsday figure, but when I saw it on the shelf and picked it up, I couldn't put it down. Yeah, it's awesome. It's such a good figure. For a figure that big, it moves really well. It has a great center of gravity. It photographs really well. It looks great on the shelf. And he's killing it on price point. Yeah.
00:30:44
Speaker
, and
00:31:05
Speaker
Heroes of of metal coming out right in their reaction line. They have Dave who is it Rob Halford? Lemmy and then what was the last one? It was it was Papa emeritus 3
00:31:20
Speaker
that's right and he's glow in the dark on some on a special mummy dust card back so there's been as as always like it's the news cycle for toys has just kind of been borderline abusively non-stop
00:31:37
Speaker
Um, with everyone kind of being still home and virtual and, you know, the ability for these, these toy makers to get the news out there fast. Um, they're doing it. So like, it's just kind of like rapid fire. It seems like every other week, there's a Hasbro fan first Friday where they're announcing tons of new transformer stuff, which is awesome.
00:31:56
Speaker
Um, you know, they just announced that the, the, the, uh, studio series line is moving out of the Michael Bay stuff and into the, um, the original, the 1985 film. And they're, they're doing figures from that they're bringing back headmasters. Um.
00:32:14
Speaker
There's starting actually to today, you are listening to this episode and it is, uh, it is Monday, the 26th today is the first Mando Monday from Hasbro. So there will be some sort of Star Wars product announced, uh, some point today. Um, it is, it is still a mystery as to what is coming, but leading up to the, uh,
00:32:37
Speaker
the premiere of season two, there is, there's going to be a Mando Monday. Um, and then I think through to the end of at least December. So, so, uh, let's, let's, let's move out of the, uh, the news section and just real quick has, has anybody picked up anything, uh, anything that's, that's been a particularly awesome that you want to talk about?

Funko Chase Surprise

00:32:59
Speaker
Uh, I got a mayor chase in the mail. I ordered a.
00:33:04
Speaker
I remember before Christmas Mayor from FYE and I got the chase. Look at you. Score. And that was right after you were about to like break up with Funko. It's happened a couple of times lately. They knew. Like we got to send this guy a chase. We got to smooth them smooth some things over. They sent you a chase and they were standing outside with a boombox. Snake Plissken was only a thousand pieces. We got to send this dude a chase. Yeah.
00:33:32
Speaker
And you got another chase, too, didn't you get a soda chase? Oh yeah, I got a demon, a Gene Simmons soda chase. Sick. I'm looking at your iron chic right now. That's cool. I got a bunch of new WWE figures. They're not Halloween themed, but yeah, I started to get some of Series 79, so I got Biggie, Xavier Woods, and Daniel Bryan.
00:33:58
Speaker
I'm also looking at, uh, I'm looking at some of Dave's figures too. I have, I have figures for both Dave's in front of me at the moment. I have, uh, I also have a Lord Dracon and an incinerator trooper. Oh yeah. I forgot you got those for me. Thank you. Yeah. The only, the only two things I'm really like super pumped about that I got that were kind of like unexpected purchases.
00:34:26
Speaker
Um, I picked up the spin master. I haven't opened it yet, but I picked up the spin master, um, Batcave. I saw, I'm excited. I want to see an unboxing that. Yeah. I'm going to do it's, it's big. It's very, it's very large. So, uh, I have to figure out how I'm going to film it, but I'm, I'm very excited to, uh, to open that. Um, Talk about value, man. Under, under 50 bucks. Wow. It was like, it was like 40 something. Um.
00:34:56
Speaker
And it comes with a figure, and it has three levels of play, but each level is two-sided. So you flip it around one way, and it looks like you're inside the Batcave, and you flip it around the other way, and it looks like you're on a Gotham City street. But from the package, it looks like you can actually break it apart and just kind of have sidewalk if you wanted to with a backdrop. So this clearly reminds you of your old Batcave.
00:35:24
Speaker
Oh, yeah. And there don't. Well, that's the thing I'm trying to figure out. Right. So I have Wayne Manor. I don't have the three tier Batcave that you're probably thinking of. The Batman Forever. Well, you had both. Yeah. But I still have Wayne Manor. I still have that one that kind of like folds up into itself. The driveway. Yeah. So I still have that. So there will be a comparison. I think the other one probably needs a little TLC before I put it on camera. But
00:35:54
Speaker
Yeah, there will be a comparison, so I picked up that. For whatever reason, I realized that, I don't know whether the movie was just so shitty that I forgot that there were figures that existed for it, but I realized that in my Marvel Legends movie collection, I did not have the Andrew Garfield, Amazing Spider-Man 2 figure, nor did I have the Jamie Foxx Electro figure.
00:36:22
Speaker
Um, that are legit Marvel legends. Um, it was before they were doing the face scans and everything. So like, and they may be relevant.
00:36:31
Speaker
Exactly. And I still have my superposable, superposable, I'm doing air quotes, Toy Biz, Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, which is still one of my favorite figures ever. So I realized that I wanted the other two and that, you know, that Andrew Garfield, if there's one thing that you could say about that movie, one positive thing you could say about that movie, the costume design for both Electro and
00:36:58
Speaker
and spider-man are really cool like it's a really unique spider suit like the way that the logo is on the back it's very like ultimate spider-man II guess you could say same goes for electro but those are still like they're really good figures I got them for like a reasonable aftermarket price like they were like at or below retail
00:37:18
Speaker
Um, of course loose. I didn't, I didn't get them new in box, but, um, I ordered them like the same day. I started looking for them and they shipped really fast. I got one for Mercari and one off of somebody on Reddit. And, uh, yeah, I'm happy to have added them to my collection. I got the Walmart exclusive, uh, bloody foot, John McLean. And how was it shipped to you, Dave? Uh,
00:37:48
Speaker
Shipped him you just made the sound of Sideshow Bob stepping on yeah Speaking of you know scary things When a Funko pop is shipped to you in a bubble mailer May as well just send it through an air vent and covered in broken glass
00:38:12
Speaker
But you still never sent pictures to me. But like, you said you fixed it enough so it looks good. I can't imagine. Yeah, so now there's only a dent in the plastic that is covering John McClain's head. And there's a dent in the back of the box. The other one that I got, my girlfriend's sister is also collecting the diehard pops.
00:38:39
Speaker
So I picked her up one and that one was like I Was in a different shape. I had to do some work on that one Now were you able to do this without actually opening them or did you have to open them I Had to maneuver the box a little bit So you won't you won't admit that you had to open it Well because they're it's not removed
00:39:05
Speaker
I had to fix the flap a little bit to kind of push the box out. We need to have, next time this happens to you, we need to do like a time lapse of you fixing, like you're like the fixer. I should have done that. A slow massage. It's not the first time I had to do that. Don't call the fixer, call Dave when you get a busted up Funko box. He'll keep it mint without opening it. You call him. It's just like, babe, I have to leave.
00:39:34
Speaker
There's a bubble to massage Santa. There's a chase Pikachu that needs my help. Yeah. And I got the window is dented. Yeah, they will be there. I got the Horn of Mansion organ player and I got the the Lux trick or treat. Sam, you're the safe light. Of Funko repair fixing window boxes.
00:39:59
Speaker
Speaking of, we were talking about broken, but I got a minty, minty haul. Oh yeah, what did you get? I'm sitting right next to a mint, fresh from the case, super flat backing board and clear window, some shrunken heads, Mighty Max from your previous guest, Zombie Sailors, find.
00:40:25
Speaker
Oh, look at that. And you're going to open them right up, aren't you? No, I'm not. No, I can't. I cannot. I really wanted to open them, but I mean, realizing and hearing him talk about them, I was like, Oh, this is like the rare ones, the hard to get everything. And it's just, it's perfect. It's literally perfect. I can't do that to it. I'll buy extra ones loose, especially because these are the little guys. So it's not as big of a deal, but.
00:40:51
Speaker
brings me back.
00:41:13
Speaker
new toys when you open them out of package. They have a very particular scent aroma to them, if you will. And he is a connoisseur of smelling brand new figures. He too got
00:41:28
Speaker
the a couple of shrunken heads from zombie sailor and with a lot of pain in on his face and clearly in his heart he he ripped them open on on camera to smell them oh and uh oh i see it yeah you could it's like it's like that uh that clip from the simpsons where like bart's
00:41:49
Speaker
you know, going frame by frame to show exactly when Ralph Wiggum's heart breaks. You can you can see that look on his face as he like crunched it. Oh, yeah, that's it. And ripped it. Yeah, he he doesn't he does not play around. He. Oh, my God. He opens things like he really opens it. Yeah, I do that with an Evangelion pop on once. An IGTV just to make people upset.
00:42:18
Speaker
And by people, you mean my brother. He, I don't know if he saw it. I was like, and now we're going to take a look. He slowly cut and I just like, I pulled it so hard that it just flew into the air. Like it was gone. That's not boys, not men anymore.
00:42:33
Speaker
I have no issue with opening, uh, pop vinyls. I just have no way to store them otherwise. It's true. I mean, every single pop vinyl that I owned whose box was thrown out or destroyed is like the rare would have been the rarest one in my collection every time. So Dave, that, that being said, I'm going to go downstairs and open up that Oswald. I mean, that's not even that rare, but it's, it's starting to creep up. My, my Mars attack alien.
00:43:01
Speaker
Uh, my misfits fiend. CM Punk like, um, original Mr. Met. I don't have him. I remember finding the chase Batgirl, the metallic one from like the first wave and being like, I don't collect these. I like mighty mugs and putting it back on the shelf in Target and Riverdale. Maybe how long ago was that? Like 10 years ago or something? Well, it lasted more than 30 seconds at Target and Riverdale. Nobody cared back then.
00:43:31
Speaker
This was still when the only waves that were really out there, it was like you could get yourself like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, Batman, Batgirl, Penguin. Even at Zap, back when I remember we had on clearance, we had rows and rows of Hawkman, Penguin, Aquaman. Well, that's always the case with collectibles because I remember when Toys R Us was going out of business, like I could have gotten rogue for
00:44:00
Speaker
,
00:44:17
Speaker
Well, today's the day, wouldn't it be? Yeah, today is Back to the Future Day, which brings me to the last thing that I picked up that I wanted to mention.

NECA's Likeness Achievement

00:44:26
Speaker
I'm saying this now and I want everyone to hold me accountable because we always talk about guardrails and stuff. I am not collecting the Back to the Future figures. I want two, exactly two, no more than two.
00:44:26
Speaker
and
00:44:39
Speaker
Part two, Marty, which I have, and I want part two doc who has not been announced yet, but I have to imagine since they have Christopher Lloyd's likeness already, but I want part two doc with like the yellow trench coat. Yeah. Um, to go with, with Marty, but those are the only two figures I'm getting. I have to say the Marty, this is one of, if not the best is one of the best likenesses that NECA has, has accomplished. Both head sculpts are amazing. They.
00:45:07
Speaker
their borderline uncanny valley. They look so good for a $30 figure in a six-inch scale that I'm looking at it right now, and it almost creeps me out a little bit how much it looks like Michael J. Fox. It's amazing. Cannot recommend it enough.
00:45:29
Speaker
I don't care to have a Biff Tannen figure, but that likeness, as good as the Marty one is, Biff's is even better. I saw that figure and I just sat there looking at it in person for literally five minutes. There was a guy standing on my shoulder. He was like, are you going to buy that? I was like, no, you can have it, but I just want to look at it for a second. Really, really good job with those figures. They're fantastic.
00:45:54
Speaker
Um, does anybody else have any other, any other gets, any other pickups that you wanted to mention before we move on to our main topic? Um, I have hauls. I'll keep it short. I got a NECA cloth, uh, trick or treat Sam. Nice. Um, those shrunken heads. I got wave one of super seven turtle ultimates, which, uh, did an unboxing on Craig stuff. You can check that out. Another previous guest. Love Craig.
00:46:23
Speaker
Gotta love Craig. I picked up some sucklord stuff at NJ Toy Con. Super excited to talk with him. Yeah, and then what you picked up for me. And then I have a Mezco 112 Gambit that I ordered forever ago waiting for me at the shop that I'm super hyped on.
00:46:49
Speaker
And didn't you also get, speaking of previous guests, didn't you get some killer bootlegs? I did, yeah. And I also have the two, quote unquote, New York Comic Con, a super set of exclusives of Count Draco Knuckle Duster and that super shiny carded Phantom Star Killer. Love it. I finally have my pink and purple Knuckle Duster standing next to my orange and green
00:47:17
Speaker
Phantom Star Killer, right now they're hanging out next to Darth Vader and Luke on the, I open them of course, on the freezing chamber playset, so. That's a great card for the Phantom Star Killer one. I think it's still available. No, they're both sold out. Oh, they are? Okay, they were when I last looked. Yep, they both sold out a couple days ago now. Okay. So, I'm sorry, you missed it. Yeah. Brother, how about you?
00:47:45
Speaker
Um, I mean, there's stuff coming, but nothing, nothing here yet. Let's uh, then let's jump right in on our, uh, on our main topic. So as I mentioned at the top of the show, we're going to be talking about some toys today that have a reputation for being

Introduction to Creepy Toys

00:48:03
Speaker
creepy. Um, that weren't necessarily intended to be creepy. So like last year on a, on the Halloween episode, if
00:48:09
Speaker
If you did not listen to that yet, we talked about just kind of like haunted toys, right? So we even mentioned some supposed real life haunted toys, things like Annabelle, things that were intended to scare you as part of their goal, right? So today though, we're gonna talk about the opposite. Things that you don't want to go bump in the night.
00:48:37
Speaker
um, that were meant to be playthings. So who wants to kick it off? Well, I mean, there's always those like, you know, almost like the talking Tina type of doll, the ones with the eyes that open up that they're not meant to be inherently terrifying, but like, you know, you turn a corner in, in, uh, the pharmacy where they undoubtedly are in the, uh,
00:49:02
Speaker
you know, doll section or in the toy section. It's like, oh, that's one of those terrifying things.
00:49:07
Speaker
Well, so that's that's actually the first thing I had on my list, Dave. I had I didn't know what they were called and I tried to I tried to Google like to see like if I could find the first time they appeared or like the first time that they were made or anything. But I put baby dolls that close their eyes when you lay them down. So like that's accurate. That's what they are. They always have that like half eye wink like face. That's exactly it. And I
00:49:34
Speaker
immediately think of Toy Story, right? I think of Toy Story 3, Big Baby, the one that, you know, the muscle that walks around with Lotso. And it's like he's got that sort of like, I guess like lazy eye, like the mechanism has failed and like they're always kind of like, you know, they're weird. They are weird. I don't find them endearing. I find them inherently creepy. Especially when you find one that's roughly like hip height.
00:50:02
Speaker
It's like, this is going to come out of the box and run after me. And then you look for the cameras and it's like, no, it's just the normal cameras that are in, in Walgreens. Well, some will come at you. Some, some dolls are out for blood. Uh, can I jump to my first one on the list? Yeah, go for it. Uh, this is one that I remember hearing about on the news.

Infamously Creepy Toys

00:50:23
Speaker
This is, uh, the cabbage patch snack time kids.
00:50:27
Speaker
by Mattel. Do you remember? Yes. OK, go ahead. Yeah, this was a cabbage patch doll. Very, very popular in the 80s.
00:50:37
Speaker
And in 1997, January, it was recalled after a very busy holiday month. This stall, you would feed it plastic food and it would just kind of like munch and just swallow it down into its gullet where you could retrieve it from its innards through the back. The problem is the mechanism to eat didn't have an on or off. So once something went in there, it was going and
00:51:03
Speaker
So they had over a hundred and fifty complaints of injuries in less than a like a month including one girl where her hair was hair and fingers were basically the you know that's what this guy was hungry for and started eating this girl's hair and got all the way down to her ear before tearing it off her scalp. So.
00:51:29
Speaker
This is not only that, but I also was trying to do some stuff, talking to my girlfriend, like, what's a, what's a toy that you think has always been scary? And she was like, cabbage patch kids. So not only is it a doll that's con like devouring you and cannot stop, but also it looks like a fucking potato. It's scary.
00:51:50
Speaker
Yeah, they do have kind of that like soulless gaze. But I mean, I guess that that's connected to like that doll category in general. Right. Yeah. Like people have those that inherent fear of I mean, we talked about it last year, like the the real version of Annabelle is a what is a raggedy and doll. Yeah. Also, as we said last year, Robert, the doll looks like a Cabbage Patch Kid doll. He's like an early Cabbage Patch Kid. He does that. Yeah. Well, his little sailor boy outfit. Yeah.
00:52:19
Speaker
Or you get like, you know, like a baby alive that poops. I just think that that's scary. The idea of the idea of parenthood and cleaning and cleaning diapers. Yeah. The idea that I poop scares me. I'm just like, when's it going to happen? What if it's when I don't want to? Just as long as you don't pull what your co-host did and give yourself an anal fissure. Oh, man. Poor Matt. Don't go out to him.
00:52:46
Speaker
Um, I moving away from dolls. I have, I have a strange one. So do you guys, this was a Toys R Us exclusive. So we're going to wind the clock back a little bit, but do you remember the Play-Doh kit called Dr. Drill and Fill? Oh yeah. That was weird.
00:53:06
Speaker
So so if you don't know what Dr. Drill and Phil is and don't and don't worry on social. So probably on like Tuesday, Wednesday at some point, we'll post some pictures of of these these toys. But Dr. Drill and Phil is a Toys R Us exclusive Play-Doh kit that is like a dentist experience, but it's basically a dentist experience from from hell. It is a little bald Charlie Brown looking kid that has like borderline like
00:53:33
Speaker
I mean there's no other way to put it but like he has like borderline like meth teeth and using a battery operated drill and Play-Doh you can drill out his cavities and fill them as well as actually pull teeth and mold new teeth and put them in.
00:53:55
Speaker
It is literally like your worst nightmare at a at a dentist appointment. Like, think think worse than anything Steve Martin would have done in Little Shop of ours, but like in a Play-Doh kit. And I don't know. I mean, one thing it's I always loved when they'd make like toys that inspire for a occupation in the future. Like Barbie, it's like, oh, yeah, I want to grow up to be a vet because they had the Barbie like
00:54:24
Speaker
dog doctor set, and I love that Play-Doh news, just like we're gonna put this out and people will wanna grow up to be sex perverts. Weird teeth sex perverts. Yeah, we're not gonna put out something to inspire dentists, we're gonna put out something to inspire like... True Crime Podcasts and Netflix docu-series. Yeah, I was gonna say, for forensic specialists, right? Yeah.
00:54:51
Speaker
I used to play with Play-Doh teeth, now I wear real ones.
00:54:58
Speaker
Oh, my God. Yeah. It's but when you see the picture of this thing, it's it's demented. Like there there was a right way to do this. Like if you wanted to make like a, you know, something like the the kid doesn't look happy. Like there's there is it is it is there's everything wrong with this set. So that's definitely on my list for unintentionally creepy toys. It could have been the board game operation, but it wasn't. Oh, no. That was that's on my list.
00:55:25
Speaker
Really? Really? So as a child, this is like, you know, you have like early, early memories. And our old house where we used to live is so I was like pre five, I used to hate when my older brother and dad played operation, I was afraid of it. Because mainly it was the sound.
00:55:42
Speaker
It was like super loud when it buzzed. But one of the reasons it scared me was because I asked like, why does it do that? Like, how does it make sense that like you know, when it touches it, it buzzes. And it was explained that it's like an electric current and a circuit and it completes it. And in my head and I'm like, this thing is making crazy noises and you can get shocked. And all I know about electricity is from cartoons and that's how you die.
00:56:08
Speaker
So I thought this was like cheating death every time you played operation like it was just as dangerous as like when you're jumping somebody's car and if you like Hooked it up wrong and you have a pacemaker and you die Like that's what I thought operation was like that growing up. Holy shit Well, like I was afraid of general track from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles It's legit
00:56:33
Speaker
He's very guy. He's he is scary looking now. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle general track. I had to like hide somewhere so I wouldn't find him on accident. That's very a ghost of Bly Manor. I haven't watched that. How is it? Yeah, me neither. Not good. Just just watch the first one again. Also, it's kind of fucked up. I thought about it like the reason it goes like it's because the man whose bones you're pulling out with tweezers is still alive.
00:57:03
Speaker
Awake, of course he's still alive, but he's still awake, and he's screaming. They're not aneth-aneth-sistize, however you say that word. Well, did you see the version of Operation where you have to take the porgs out of Chewie? You know? Yeah. I know how eating birds work, and trust me, they come out on their own. Don't eat a game. It all goes back to shitting. Everybody poops. Everybody poops.
00:57:32
Speaker
Um, I have, I have another one that's kind of, um, that's kind of famous, uh, like a famously, uh, creepy toy, um, generally known as the symbol monkey. Yeah. Uh, so a very vintage toy we're talking like, like
00:57:53
Speaker
way before all of our times, but that that monkey with like the crazed eyes that just kind of smashes symbols together very early, like mechanical toy. That thing is fucking terrifying. It is the blank eyes.
00:58:07
Speaker
And again, going back to Toy Story, as much as Toy Story is famous for being a kid's movie, they have some terrifying toy moments in those movies with normal toys. The monkey that never blinks, which is basically what the symbol monkey is, is the security guard. And he's downright terrifying. There is nothing redeemable or cute. I'm sorry. There is that toy.
00:58:38
Speaker
I haunted the dreams of many, I'm sure. And still does. To this day. Merry day. Brother, did you have one? I mean, I always thought Jack in the Boxes were. Oh, yeah, that's a classic one. Supposed to surprise you. What a jerk. It's like the number one way to develop anxiety in children. Jack in the Box.
00:59:08
Speaker
You know, I wanted to see if there was stuff that I personally didn't know about. Have you guys ever heard of the face bank? No. The face bank. So the face bank is, I mean, it's terrifying.
00:59:27
Speaker
It is, it basically looks like a wedge. It looks like a big wooden wedge, but it has a face on the front of it. Just like two nostrils, two eyeballs, and a mouth. And the idea was that you, you know, you put your change in this thing's gaping maw of a mouth. Oh, that is weird. I just looked at it. It looks terrifying. Like,
00:59:54
Speaker
It looks like something out of like an episode of Rick and Morty that would be like, put your change in my mouth and then like eat your fucking fingers. It looks like it belongs in the same universe as those weird, like, remember those Energizer commercials with the plastic people? Oh, yeah. Yes. Those Devo music videos. So the, yeah, the face bank, you know, I would not be putting my childhood allowance in that thing. I would be turning it around and burying it in a closet somewhere.
01:00:26
Speaker
That's one way to save. Well, speaking of burying things in closets, Dave, I want to reference a story that you told on calling all creeps on your Halloween episode about a very creepy toy that was not intended to be creepy. Yeah, I watched. I think animatronic toys always creeped me out, I guess, like since I was a little kid. And yeah, this is was a weird thing where
01:00:55
Speaker
I found, it was after college, went back to my parents' house and I was riddled with anxiety and just stopped sleeping. Just kind of went through this like insomnia anxiety phase and cleaned out the closet and found mine and my little brother's Furbies that were given to us by our grandmother and other stuff she had given us and I couldn't throw them out. I just like, you know that like rack with guilt? It's like birthday cards where you're like, I know nobody wants this and it's just for me but like,
01:01:24
Speaker
You keep them because it's like, you know, this is like the memory of a person, but so they're creepy as hell. I couldn't get them to do anything funny. So, uh, I just put them in like the top farthest part of the closet. Um, and I was exhausted. So I was just laying in bed. I don't know if it was like still trying to fall asleep, laying there on my phone. And they decided to one decided to wake up at three in the morning.
01:01:55
Speaker
But it was like that. Like, you know, it's like cock a doodle doo. Yeah. Like, what the fuck? And then it kind of just broke and started going like and made that like. And apparently I've looked online now, I actually did some research before this podcast and.
01:02:14
Speaker
There were some that had bad like boards that kind of freaked out, but also a Furby with a low battery would just go hog wild. Just like a bad battery is just welcoming Satan deep into that Furby's butthole and just to do crazy, crazy things. So that on top of like seeing things and just not being in a good spot scared the shit out of me. I'm like, why did this wake up on its own at the top of the closet? I couldn't get it to wake up by force.

And then I opened it up, I took the batteries out. They were all corroded and destroyed and like, it was just very weird. And I thought, you know, that was my freak out with a Furby. But that was, I actually was able to stop at my parents again because I scared my mom forgetting that I ordered a creature from the black lagoon mask from trick or treat studios. So I had to go and pick that up. And when I was home, I found this bad boy.
01:03:14
Speaker
Did you guys have one of these? What what the hell is that? That's weird. This is the bunny speaking. Is it like Teddy Ruxpin? I didn't have one of those. How did you not have that? But wasn't no, but like Teddy Ruxpin had like a bunch of friends that read books and stuff, too, because there was the worm. I think my brother had the worm and I had a bunny speaking.
01:03:44
Speaker
like you put like but it's the same as Teddy Ruxpin, right? It's like you open up the back, you put in a cassette tape and it like reads the story, right? Well, who? Yeah, it's the same exact deal. I don't know. Let me check that. It says it's from Nomad, Nomad, I guess, like an education toys. Was that who made Teddy Ruxpin?
01:04:06
Speaker
A bunch, a couple of different manufacturers made Teddy Ruxman. I think like he was originally done in like the early eighties and like it didn't pan out and then they made him again. And then I think they made him again in the 2000s, but no, no med toys does not sound familiar. It's just no med toys and a bunch of numbers, but, um, interesting. Of course it's got the tapes battery pack.
01:04:33
Speaker
Does it does it still work? I'd be curious because like we all know what we all know what Teddy Ruxman sounds like, right? Like it's a relatively like famous toy. So does does he still work? I can trade. I have some old game boys here. I mean, is it corroded like there's no batteries in here alone?
01:05:04
Speaker
All right. I'm Bunny speaking. Ready for some reading? I'm Bunny reading. It's been a while, David. Should we keep reading Old Man Ted's special place? What? Or would you like to start something new? I guess it works.
01:05:31
Speaker
Uh, that's kind of how does it know you? I don't know. It's very ahead of its time, I guess. Scary story. I know a good one about being locked in a closet for 20 years. What? When did you say this thing was made again? Yeah, like what did Teddy Ruxpin come out in like the 80s, like 85? I mean, I was born in 88, but
01:06:01
Speaker
hold on let me I saw the numbers on the tag something has to make so now you want to touch me because these two neckbeards want to know about me you know I've been off for a while but I've seen and heard everything on in your bedroom over the years
01:06:27
Speaker

01:06:50
Speaker
That's... like, that could be a find, like... I don't know, have you looked it up to see if it's worth anything? Yeah, this could be super, super rare. You have no fucking idea! You wanna talk rare? How about we talk about a rare deal?
01:07:10
Speaker
I've been trapped in this goddamn fluffy bunny nonsense for 40 years! Did he say trapped? Guys, this is 40 years? Do you guys ever shut up? I'm monologuing here! Let me get to the point. Do you remember every time you got blamed for an accident, David? That time your mommy's favorite vase broke? Or the time your dad's favorite shirt got all cut up?
01:07:40
Speaker
How about the time you pushed your brother down the stairs and he almost broke his neck? You see, David, that was me. I wanted them all to hate you. I wanted you to take me with you and run away, David. Then Jacob had to go and ruin it. Who the fuck is Jacob? Nah. You wouldn't remember him, would you? You were too young.
01:08:12
Speaker
Your brother Jacob. Oh, I bet everyone was real sad when they found him foaming at the mouth on the floor. It's a damn shame he found out my little secret. Ned wasn't going to work for me. It's just too bad that little fucker got my batteries out before the poison had a chance to set in. Never mind that now though, David.
01:08:40
Speaker
I think we're alone now. It doesn't seem to be... Guys, I think he's moving. I think we're alone now. Guys, this fucking thing's moving. Alright, stop fucking around. He's David, by the way. I'm just David. Yeah. Time to die, David!
01:09:15
Speaker
Dave? Are you there, buddy? Hey, Dave. Hi. I'm here, boys. And I'll see you real soon for a special unboxing.
