Speaker: The horn has sounded, but the conversation is just getting started. Welcome to KC After the Horn, your home for Kansas City Mavericks hockey. From game breakdowns and player interviews to fan reactions and everything in between, we're talking Mavericks hockey all year long with your host, Joe Friedman. Let's drop the puck.

Speaker: Welcome to the very first episode of KC After the Horn. I'm Joe, and every week we're going beyond the final score to talk take Kansas City Mavericks hockey. the games the players, the numbers, and the stories around the team.

Speaker: And have we got a lot to get into in episode one. We're going to look back at exactly where the Kelly Cup finals turned. I've got a special Hit the Showers episode coming up. with an interview with Nolan Walker on our first episode of Mavericks After the Horn.

Speaker: So let's drop the puck. It's time for the puck drop. Our very first...

Speaker: segment of every episode is puck drop it's where we're going to talk about headlines talk about the team transactions injuries that are going on and we will dig into that next week we're going to talk what about what players left what players have moved on retired what players have stayed what players we've brought on what players have come back we're going to dig into that in our next episode which is going to be the Wednesday before opening night opening night is in October 16th I cannot wait for opening night hope to see you there I will be there but We will dig into all those transactions on our next episode. It's time for Final Horn is our next segment.

Speaker: The Final Horn Report so In our first Final Horn, we have not had games yet this season, but I want to dig into the Kelly Cup Finals. I want to dig into what happened because the numbers don't tell the true story. If you look at it and you look at we lost 4 -2, you think, oh, we'd Played well because we won two games, but we probably got outplayed when really the numbers tell a different story.

Speaker: All right, so let's dig into the period by period as you see in the second period Kansas City Mavericks out.

Speaker: scored the Florida Everblades 16 -3. 16 -3, meaning after they got out of the first period and came into the second period, they had a game plan, they put the pressure on Florida, and they made it difficult for Florida. But as you see, from that point on, after 40 minutes, Florida outscored us 9 -0 between the third period and overtime, which means we... had the opportunity to put some of these games away, and we just couldn't get it done.

Speaker: But there's another factor. If we look into special teams... KC's power play, so the Mavericks power play went 4 for 14 in games 1 and 2. That's 28 .6%.

Speaker: And Florida's power play went 1 for 8. That's 12 .5%. As you see in games 3 through 6, our power play was 2 for 13. 15 .4%. And Florida's power play was 5 for 15, 33 .3%. That's crazy. So Florida went from 12 .5 % to 33 .3%. And our power play went from 28 .6 % to 15 .4%. percent.

Speaker: All right, as we look into the stats of Game 1, in Game 1... We obviously outscored them 6 -0. Jack LaFontaine shut out. amazing 15 saves without a goal Florida's 15 shots tied the fewest in Riley Kelly Cup Finals game So...

Speaker: You look at the numbers, you look at the stats. I mean, Kansas City controlled the play and pressured Florida by getting the cycle game going early. so The - best way to get them frustrated would be to put the Puck. deep.

Speaker: behind the goal line get them the defense to turn their backs away from you and then get on them and get the four check going which is what Kansas City did really well in this game they kept the puck in the offensive zone and made Florida defend for long stretches it set the tone for the series and showed the Mavericks could win the puck possession battle I mean

Speaker: They outshot them 26 -15, and in the second period, we outscored them 4 -0. We have four second period goals. And as we move forward in this series, you'll see our second period, we destroyed them in the second period. But as we dig deeper into what happened, you will also see that in the third period, we got dominated in the third period, and we could not close out games. Luckily, we were up 6 -0, and they did a great job in the third period in this game of closing it out. We still didn't score. a goal in the third period and as we dig into game two game two we actually still won that game dominated most of that game but as you see in the third period this is where the third period started shining its light on what

Speaker: How we couldn't close out games. Florida outshot us 11 -1. We did... Outshoot them in the game. 27 -21. We scored. Five goals. um They scored two. It was 5 -1. We had a four -goal lead after 40 minutes. We had a lot of good opportunities. We had some opportunities in the third period still.

Speaker: But um as you can see, the 11 -1 shot differential in the third period became the deciding factor moving forward. This was the start of that. And as we move into Game 3 of the Kelly Cove Finals, and as you can see, um we lost 2 -1 in overtime, ah but we were up 1 -0 going into the third. Craig Needham tied it shorthanded at 13 -09 of the third, and Needham won it.

Speaker: 341 into overtime. But in this game, Florida outshot us 35 -21. And in the third period, they outshot us 16 -8, and they outshot us in overtime 7 -1. Between the third period and overtime, they outshot us 23 -9, which is a huge differential and just showcases how much the ice tilted, especially in that third period.

Speaker: Now you'd think, based off the fact that they got outshot so much in that third period, that they came out... sitting back and hoping that they would actually sit back and keep the lead and win the game but they actually came out they had extended periods of time where they were at got the four check going in the offensive zone and spent extended periods of time in there they even had two power plays in that third period they had the first one the first one was a high sticking call at 12 14 in the third period and then their second one which is actually the biggest swing in the third in this third game and probably the biggest swing in the series, is at 748, they had a tripping call where they could have put the game away. If they go up 2 -0, they probably go up 3 -0 in the series, and the chances of Florida ever coming back down 3 -0 are slim to none. It doesn't matter if you're in the NHL, the AHL, or the ECHL. It's tough in a cup finals to come back from 3 -0.

Speaker: So it's 7 .08 with a minute and 24 left in the power play. 7 .08 left in the third period. ah The Mavericks get set up on the power play. McCollum gets the puck up.

Speaker: to Crawford at the blue line at the point. This is where things change. So I'm going to show you a diagram and in this diagram you're going to see that Crawford's at the blue line at the point and he's got an outlet to the left and all they have in front of the net. So there's three situations that happen. He decides to go up through the middle towards the net. There's no one in front of the net except for Everblades and he has an Everblades player right in front of him.

Speaker: If he goes straight up the middle, three things happen. It gets blocked. turned over, and they get a scoring chance the other way, which is what happened. It gets blocked, deflected, goes into the corners, and then we got to fight to get...

Speaker: the puck back and get possession back and get set back up. Or it goes straight to the goaltender and it's an easy save and then we have to do another faceoff. if he goes to the outlet to the left he has a chance to get that puck moving around and get the power play going instead we get it set up he sends it

Speaker: Two. The goal, it gets blocked. We get a breakaway. The shot goes off the pad, and we know everything else. The puck goes off the skate of the everybody player and goes in the net. And I know we can sit and say, well, it went off the skate. There was no kicking motion. That was a normal stopping motion. um They aren't going to call a goal off on normal stopping motion unless it's definitely kicking motion.

Speaker: So that goal counted. And we can sit there and we can say the refs. messed us up the refs made a mistake uh you know we can sit there and look at a lot of different things when we get dig into game six when we dig into game six here in a little bit you'll also see that we can sit and talk about the refs in that game But we did not.

Speaker: put the game away and that's been the deciding factor in this series we had a chance to put the game away in game three put the series away in game three and we had a power play and we got a gave away a shorthanded goal because we decided to put the puck in a position that was not the best for our power play.

Speaker: Now, after that happened, the ice shifted. I mean, the ice tilted towards the Everblades in the series. Now, luckily, we get back home, game six. Got outshot in... Game 6. 56 to 28. After the second...

Speaker: Kansas City is up 4 -1 after the second. where We have a three -goal lead. We have a three -goal lead. In the third period, though, we get outshot 16 -2. 16 -2. That is crazy. um We obviously did what we did in some of the third periods, which was we sat back. um We tried to hold the lead. um Whereas I believe that the best defense sometimes is...

Speaker: putting the puck deep in the zone, getting the forechecking going, and having extended periods of time with the puck. in your offensive zone because guess what you are wearing them down they didn't have to make a line change and bring a new line out and you start all over And so the way I look at it is if you sit back too much, especially the way how good the Florida was, um Florida is actually a really good team, and I've got to congratulate them.

Speaker: but We sat back in that third period and allowed them to come at us. And then we can look at that game -tying goal and some of the penalties that were called. um We also you know have... that high sticking uh power penalty on us that kind of flipped everything. It allowed them to get on the power play, allowed them to score another goal and give them a chance and get them within one. um We have to be more disciplined in those situations, especially when you're in a cup final.

Speaker: With an opportunity to go to game seven, you're up two goals. You just can't make those mistakes, and we did. And you can complain the refs didn't call this, the refs didn't call that. That goal to tie at the end of the third period shouldn't have been a goal because it got pushed in. But you also got to look at everything else. And we can complain about the refs, which we will. I will. We're going to talk about the refs during this podcast. But.

Speaker: We sat back and we allowed them to keep coming at us and coming at us and coming at us. I mean, 16 -2 in shots in the third period. That tells a story. um And like I said, this was the entire...

Speaker: series We dominated the second period, then stopped generating offense in the third period while Florida attacked in waves. Now, I will say this. Congratulations to the Mavericks.

Speaker: Amazing season last year. ah Cable Dahmer Arena was hopping. It was so loud. The fans were so loud. It was an amazing, amazing atmosphere. And I know the players loved it and the players enjoyed it. um I can't wait for this season because I have a feeling we're going to have a good team, a great team again. And I have a feeling think it's going to be even louder in that place. So I just want to do a round of applause not only to the Kansas City Mavericks last year, but also to the fans. the Kansas City Mavericks fans, for coming out, for being loud, for being a ruckus, for making sure that our team and our players get that extra... boost every time they play at home so i want to make sure you guys come out this year that you come out and

Speaker: more than you have last year i want more sellouts this year i want it to be louder than it was last year come out support the team it's going to be an amazing season Checking in.

Speaker: The next segment we call Checking In, and what that is is we are going to dig into the physical play of Mavericks hockey. Big hits, huge fights, game -swinging opportunities because of huge huge hits. We are going to pick one player and... show you some highlights from that player creating great physical moments in the game. And now for my favorite segment. It's hit the showers.

Speaker: Hit the showers.

Speaker: This is where we're going to actually dig into and have interviews with players with. coaches hopefully or with people involved in the organization um and allow you an inside look not only on hockey but maybe their personal lives and things that they have going um if they have anything outside of hockey they have going on so i'm really excited about this and i'm really excited about our first hit the showers we have nolan walker so let's take it away

Speaker: All right, so Mavs fans, I have a special guest on our first episode. He played for a national championship in 2020 -2021 with St. Cloud State University. He was selected to the 2021 NCAA Frozen Four All -Tournament team. In his rookie season with Newfoundland, he had 41 points. And in his first season with your Mavericks, he averaged over a point a game and ranks top. Five in franchise history. Single season goals with 34. Back for another season. With the Mavericks, it's Nolan Walker!

Speaker: thanks Thanks for having me. This is awesome. Really appreciate it. No, my thank you so much for coming on. I know that Mavs fans are excited. I'm a season ticket holder. We have a lot of people that were in a Discord chat, and they are so excited about this and having you on. I know right now your life is crazy.

Speaker: yeah Mavs. Fans may not know, but you became a dad. Yes, on 15th of August. Yeah, it's been pretty... It's been crazy, but no, it's been awesome. ah Obviously, it's off -season, so it's nice. I've been able to to help a lot with my wife. so Yeah, that's what I was โ€“ the question I had is who's getting more sleep, you or your wife?

Speaker: Yeah, you know, we kind of have a little routine going. My family was... out here. They left on Sunday, but they came out and obviously might they're in Alaska, but they came out and saw the baby. and You know, they were a big help. Obviously, they're home now. So the last couple of nights, it's been just me and her.

Speaker: Yeah, no, it's definitely been some sleepless nights, but we have a little routine going. I'm kind of staying up. you know not late but you know and midnight one ish until the baby goes to sleep and then she kind of deals with the baby during the night so it's kind of a good little routine we got going Yeah, well, I know i know that. i have two I have kids myself. Mine are older now, so I...

Speaker: Somewhat missed some of the baby newborn days. There's there's amazing things. I know one thing, it goes by really quick. yeah So the one thing I can say is just enjoy it. because yeah before you know it, they'll be teenagers. We're already almost at a month, and it feels like it's just gone. Yeah, you're right. It's gone really fast. so Yeah, so enjoy it.

Speaker: After becoming a father though, what has changed your perspective on hockey? or your career? Has it changed any of that at all? Obviously, it's it's pretty new, but um you know you're kind of playing for not just yourself anymore. You know you have a family now.

Speaker: uh i have two dogs as well so it kind of feels like a full -on family and no it's a I wouldn't say it. crazy It hasn't crazy changed yet, but I think once it kind of gets going.

Speaker: you know during the games and stuff like you're you know you're playing for more than just yourself um But also at the same time, it makes you want to work harder, right? Yeah. I want to play hockey as long as possible. and and support my family. so But, yeah, no, I've been very thankful. It's the offseason.

Speaker: And that's kind of what you know what's nice about this. you know, work of field we're in that you're able to, you know, be at home, you know, longer with, you know, with my daughter now. So yeah, no, it's been awesome.

Speaker: So. Now we're going to get into why. Why did you come back to the, mat what made you come back to the Mavericks? You know, it's just a great organization. Obviously, my time there in 23, we got to the finals. We lost in game five. You know, that kind of put a sour taste in your mouth. and um Really enjoyed my time there. I ended up going overseas just to try something new. Me and my wife were like, oh, let's just go try something new. We went to Sweden. and We liked it there. And then we ended up coming back last year, ended up.

Speaker: signing a different deal with an American League team in Abbotsford. So I spent but the whole year in Kalamazoo. And then kind of this year, obviously we're having a kid now. know We thought, no, let's... We really like Kansas City. Tad's still there. He's done a great job. they've Obviously, the the culture they have there is amazing. The fans are unbelievable.

Speaker: They've made it to the last, is it? four three Western conference finals. And then two of those are Kelly cup finals. Yeah. So like, it's kind of like. a no -brainer like I want to win a Kelly Cup like that's my goal and I'm getting to a point in my career now where I'm getting older and You know, I'm kind of a guy that can be leaned on now as as an older guy. and I feel like going back to Kansas City, it's, um you know, I'm...

Speaker: I'm used to a lot of things there. I know the staff. um It's a great you know family that they have with the fans and the community. and I don't know. We just really wanted to go back. It's also close to where where we're living here. We live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. so We thought that was a nice perk. So family's able to come visit. obviously with the kid now. and But no, I think most importantly, like the hockey like that. I loved it. You know, we were. Very good team, and it looks like we have a great team coming back again. so Hopefully we can get the job done. so

Speaker: Yeah, and last year was โ€“ I mean โ€“ sellouts for most of the finals. yeah It was the... It was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was unreal. um And that's... brings me to another, ah as a player, your perspective.

Speaker: Why do Mavericks fans? what do they bring to cable Dahmer arena that they may not realize they bring on. from a player perspective. I think obviously it's a, you know, fantastic facility. They have their cable domer. You know, it's a great, I think it's a perfect size for, you know, professional hockey in the ECHL.

Speaker: But you know my time there... It's gotten even better, like you said, you know, the sellouts year after year. But even when I was in there in 23, like, I feel like that's kind of when we started, like, you know, the community started getting involved. Like, more people were coming to watch games. We were getting big. We were really good that year, obviously. We made it to the Calgary finals, so.

Speaker: but you know they bring a lot of energy You know, and that really helps a hockey team, you know, whether you're you're not doing well in the game or not. But, I mean, sellout after sellout, whatever they โ€“ have been doing the last couple years every game it seems like it's almost full every game but um You know, they just bring energy, you know, great atmosphere for families. and That's something that know my wife enjoyed and my family enjoyed when they come down and visit. so

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. And that's the one thing is the the fan base, especially like season ticket holders. Man, they're diehard fans. That's for sure. we love They had a team way back. and I don't know what, I think they were the Mavericks back in the nineties or whatever in the CHL, but yeah, no, it seems like it just hockey just keeps getting bigger and bigger in Kansas. so Let's hope they bring in an NHL team eventually. That would be a amazing. yeah Yeah, that would.

Speaker: Alright, so let's talk about your game. yeah how would How would you describe yourself as a player to somebody watching you for the first time? I think obviously I'm a forward, a centerman, or at least I like to play center.

Speaker: I think I'm an undersized, you know fast type of player that can... you know, make plays, make my line mates better. you I think when I'm playing well, I'm you know engaged in the game, I'm communicating. i'm and y 'all playing physical.

Speaker: But I think people notice my speed. I think that's probably my you know my skating and my speed are my biggest, you know my best assets. I think people coming to watch can see that. and Obviously, my year in Kansas City, i Maybe more goals than I thought I was going to get, but um hopefully we can you know get back to that. and you know scoring goals and playing a you know good, reliable two -way game.

Speaker: Yeah, you had an amazing season your first season with the Mavs in 2023 I mean, over a point a game, 34 goals in that season, which, like I said, is top five in franchise history, which is pretty big.

Speaker: Yeah. So. One big thing is from 2023 to now, what part of your game do you think has taken the biggest jump? moving into this season.

Speaker: I think it's just... you know Year after year, you're in, you know. a year older in the league. Obviously, I've been in the league. ECHL now, what, three years? so You kind of, you know.

Speaker: You don't really know what to expect, but you can kind of, you know. It's just it's time after time. We just keep getting better and better, you know, with experience. Right. And that's with anything. So. Yeah, I think that's something that I can take you know going into this year, you know being an older guy as a leader.

Speaker: you know being there for the younger guys and um but yeah i think over the last couple years um you know i've learned a lot about my game ah and then going over to sweden it's a little bit of a different style but i really miss you know that north american style play um Obviously a smaller ice sheet on in North America.

Speaker: compared to Europe, but I think my game benefits on you know this you know size of sheet and um the style of play that's kind of over in North America. Yeah, it's it's a very grinding style of play here in North America and very physical as opposed. yeah I pay attention to the Euro Hockey League too. so And it is definitely with that huge sheet of ice. It's different style of hockey.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean, I think I... I think, obviously, why I went over that, I thought, well, maybe a you know bigger sheet, smaller guy, you know my skating, my speed, which, no, I enjoyed it. we You know, we decided to come back, just, you know, we missed it. And maybe we'll, we're not, you know, ruling it out to go back to Europe, but we obviously really, you know, miss Kansas City. so We kind of, when we left there, we, I know we realized like how good.

Speaker: you know, how good we had in Kansas City, just with the organization and everything and how good the Mavericks are year after year. so We're really excited to be coming back. So... When the season ends.

Speaker: What would you need to happen for it you to say this was a successful year? Obviously, you know getting over the hump like Like we've talked about the last three years, they've they've been so close. um you know I think winning is very important, but I think if everyone leaves it on the line and we can build that chemistry and camaraderie as a team.

Speaker: and now I think the sky's the limit. so you know, and At the end of the year, we look back, if you know if we gave it our all and we did come up short, you know that would be very disappointing. But you know i I really believe that the Mavericks can do something special this year.

Speaker: Yeah, I'm really excited. I know the fan base is really excited. That's the thing about the ECHL is... change happens a lot so there's a huge turnover in the echl i mean yeah That's the thing with the Mavericks. like I was excited to come back. just you know There's a lot of guys that... that are still there to them when I was there. couple years ago so like They've built a good foundation, you know, a good culture.

Speaker: um Guys, you know what it takes to win. We've all been there, you know. whether that's winning Kelly Cups or not and being in the finals. but I think that's really important. is In the ECHL, things change so much. Even week after week, guys are getting called up, guys are you know getting cut, whatever it may be. you know There's so many transactions that happen. and It's important that you know you find...

Speaker: the culture that you want in the team, you know and the bonds that you share with your teammates. And I think that's really important in this league. Cause like, you know, a lot of guys. you know, feel like they shouldn't be in the league, right. They should be in the American hockey league and that can bring teams down. But, you know, for me. As an older guy, I kind of know where I stand in my career. and um and being an older guy just going in and being a leader and you know helping the younger guys and you know obviously winning is the most important thing so

Speaker: yeah and And if you win, usually it opens the door for guys to move up anyway. sure So it's a win -win either way you look at it. yeah whether that's europe or you know american league opportunity so yeah for sure Alright. We're going to do rapid fire. I know I didn't give you these questions. we' Rapid fire. Just quick answers. It's based off your teammates that you have now, which have you gotten a chance to meet a lot of the players that have come in that you don't know yet? Or is that. I mean, I've played against...

Speaker: If the hockey world is so small, you you play against so many of these guys. Obviously, I know Casey Crew very well. um Jake McLaughlin. um Who else is returning coming back that I played with? I would.

Speaker: Tough man. I don't remember. But, yeah, no, i ah I know most of the guys, right? Like, you play against a lot of them. All right, so rapid fire then. First off, what's your favorite pregame meal?

Speaker: That's a tough one. I'm kind of i'm not really superstitious, so it kind of changes here and there, but like i just beef and rice. Grown beef and rice are... sometimes if i'm lazy i'll go to chipotle and get a nice bowl so we'll see it just depends Then what's the first song on your pregame playlist?

Speaker: Oh man. First song? Or what is the one song that you have to listen to before? A game. I don't really listen to music. That's a funny thing. I know a lot of guys do, but it's probably like an upbeat like type of...

Speaker: i like country a lot but that's like you know it doesn't really Get you. into the game. I can. I can, I guess, if there's upbeat country. but Maybe something that...

Speaker: sorts of countries. yeah All right. Best Dressed Maverick.

Speaker: Let's go with... I'll go Casey Carew, sure. Alright, Worst Dressed Maverick. Glocks, for sure. Jake McLaughlin. All right, funniest guy in the locker room.

Speaker: Funniest guy when I was there or just... um Just a that you've had in your locker room. Oh, that I've had in my locker room. um Todd Skirving is a good one. He's an older guy I played with. Two years now on two different teams in Newfoundland and then last year in Kalamazoo. He's pretty funny. so All right, last two. Who? do you trust to babysit?

Speaker: yeah Amen. Well, I heard there's going to be two other guys potentially that have kids on the team, so maybe one of them. so And then who's the one guy that you don't trust to babysit?

Speaker: Don't trust. Or not trust, but like you probably don't want him around babysitting your kid. Let's go with, oh, this is a tough one.

Speaker: I know. I'm opening up. Maybe the fighter that was on our team last year, Spencer Kennedy, he's it back in Kalamazoo next year. but Probably him. Wouldn't trust him. All right. Well, thank you so much, Nolan. It was a pleasure. One question I'm going to ask every person I have on the show.

Speaker: When you, it is all said and done with your hockey career. yeah when you've... Put the skates up. and decide that it's time to move on and do something else. What do you want people to remember about your hockey career?

Speaker: I think you know I want people to know that I gave my all. Obviously, I'm i'm a kid from Alaska. so um It's kind of special growing up there. and being one of the few that have kind of you know made it into professional hockey obviously i You know, everyone have goal everyone has goals of making the NHL. Very unlikely that's going to happen now. But, you know, I think I want people to look at me just now as a great teammate.

Speaker: a guy that they can you know come to if they need anything and you know Just a player that... you know, gives it it all his all. So, yeah. Well, thank you so much for being on the first. podcast episode being our first guest you didn't have to do this yet you did Amazing interview. I can't wait to see you on the ice.

Speaker: yeah Good luck. in the 2026 -2027 season. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Again, a big thank you to Nolan Walker for joining me and being the first guest on Mavericks After the Horn. That's exactly what I wanted to Hit the Showers to be. We're going to talk hockey, but also I want to get to know the person underneath the helmet, and I want you guys to get to know them too. Nolan was a great way to start, and I can't wait for more. The other thing I'm excited about is we have... Mavs mailbag.

Speaker: Mavs Mailbag.

Speaker: which is our next segment and on that segment i'm going to take questions from you guys the fans of mavericks hockey and uh when we take those i'm going to actually answer those but we are also i want you guys to have questions so we have interviews i want you guys to send videos of questions you have and i will put some of those questions in the interviews with the players and with the coaches and with the people in the organization so i'm really excited about that segment also we are not digging into that right now because this is our first episode but for our next episode i'd love to hear from you guys mavs nation on what you have questions of

Speaker: And our last segment of every show is next face -off. Next face off. This is where we're going to dig into the games coming up. We're going to dig more into that.

Speaker: On our next episode, which is the Wednesday before opening night. um I can't wait for opening night. It's going to be electric in Cable Dom Arena. I can't wait to see all you Mavs fans out there. I just... Am so looking forward to this season. Last season.

Speaker: I feel like we have a bad taste in our mouth, and I know the players do and the organization does too because we had a great team and a huge opportunity to win the Kelly Cup, and I have a feeling they're going to bring out an amazing product on the ice, and I have a feeling we're going to have a great team this season, and I can't wait to see you there. So I need you guys to fill that place up. Let's get the most sellouts they've ever had in team history this year.

Speaker: all right so that's gonna do it for our first episode of case after the horn i want to say thank you Thank you, Nolan Walker, for coming on the show. Thank you for... giving your time to the show, a show that hasn't even started that you're willing to come on, not knowing anything of what it was going to be like. Thank you so much. It was such an honor to have you on the show. I can't wait.

Speaker: for you guys to get to see and experience some of the things we're going to do on this show. Like I said, I can't wait to get some of your questions. Otherwise until next time keep your sticks on the ice and your eyes on the Mavericks. We'll see you after the horn.
