It will probably never happen, but is there any desire to ever have a preseason game in college football to prep for the season?

Every year we see crazy upsets in the first week or 2 of the season in non-conference games, which is great for entertainment but not great for teams who expect to be in the chase for a title at season’s end 

The NFL used to have 4 preseason games and now have just 3…is there a world that exists where it makes sense for a college preseason game?5
