Introduction and West London Derby

Global Sports Podcast Network
Welcome back everybody to the Daily Fulham Podcast. This is your home of all things Fulham. And today we are looking forward, we are looking forward to the West London Derby between Fulham and Brentford, which takes place next

Crossover with Dan from Daily Brentford

00:00:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Monday. So with that being said, today is our crossover special. And joining me from the Daily Brentford team, we have Dan. Dan, how are things?
00:00:28
Daniel
All good. Really looking forward to it under the lights Monday night football. I'll be there. So yeah, we've had some interest interesting games in the last few years and we're very close in the league table at the moment as well. So I think it'll be a really good game.
00:00:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. Both sides are doing well. Probably could have been doing better just based on game performances. I know Fulham have thrown away the lead a few times. and I know Brentford have thrown away the lead a

Fulham's Premier League Goals

few times as well. We'll come on to that. what What do you want to know about Fulham then, Dan?
00:00:55
Daniel
I think I guess Looking at obviously where Fulham are and where Brentford are, I think we're both in fairly similar places as a club at the moment. So I wonder what, for from a Fulham perspective, where you guys think that you should be aiming for this season and what the ambitions are.
00:01:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, I think the first aim, of course, is to survive, isn't it? And under Marco Silva, they have a really good manager who's had success at Fulham and they've really been steady and stable the last couple of seasons after being that yo-yo team for for a few years, which you don't want to be associated with, really do. But the first season they came back under Marco Silva, they finished 10th and they finished 13th last season. So two seasons of of steadiness, not really being involved. And you just want to replicate that as much as you can. And I think for Fulham,
00:01:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
A wild dream would be Europe. I think you always look at it in the Premier League. There's the big six, isn't there? And then you probably got Aston Villa and Newcastle. They've got themselves into that equation in the last few seasons with Newcastle's finances, Aston Villa and Emory are a different beast. But after that, I think any team in the Premier League is looking at that and thinking, you know, you want to be the next best, the best of the rest, really. so i think I think top half is the aim and I think it's realistic. Look at some of the games this season. There's not been many games though we've where they've been outplayed, probably the Aston Villa game at home. But aside from that, they've they've they've given everyone a game, including Man City at the Etihad. So despite them being in the top half, there's probably some disappointment to the fact that they have thrown some thrown some points away.

Brentford's European Aspirations

00:02:26
Daniel
Yeah, I think, I think likewise to Brentford. I mean, the the only games we've lost this season have been City, Liverpool, um United and Tottenham. So if you look at it like that, and again, we took the lead at City, we took the lead at Tottenham, we took the lead at United. We just can't seem to hold onto it, probably because we score so early in so many of these games. But yeah, I definitely agree. The aim for us, I mean, the dream for Brentford fans is Europe, because we've never been there before. I know you guys have had your day in Europe in the past, but yeah.
00:02:55
Daniel
I guess another similarity between the two clubs is losing big players and trying to move on from them because obviously I know you guys lost Paulina, obviously we we lost Tony in the summer. How would you say Fulham have adapted then to um move on from that and ultimately progress even further?

Fulham's Transition Post-Key Players

00:03:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, you mentioned big players and of course, a couple of seasons ago, they lost Mitrovic, didn't they? And they brought in Jimenez as a replacement. And that caused a bit of ah a broader time because Fulham fans didn't think he was quite the replacement for Mitrovic. But as you've seen this season, um he's he's been on fire the last few games, even when he hasn't been scoring goals. So um they don't seem to miss Mitrovic now. Polina was, of course, a big blow. It was to be expected because it was looking like he was going to leave in January. He was pictured with a Bayern Munich shirt. but um they pulled the plug on that deal at the last minute and managed to keep hold of him for the rest of the season. So it was no surprise that he left. He's gone to Bayern, he's not getting much football at the minute, is he? And it's is hard to to replace someone of that ability, that calibre, a club like Fulham, but what they've had to do this season is Sassa Lukic, who's been at the club for a couple of seasons, not necessarily cemented his place in the team. um I said this on the podcast, I think early on in the season, I kind of didn't know what he did really, because he wasn't,
00:04:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
he was okay in a lot of departments but you wouldn't say he was beyond that and what we've seen is until his injury unfortunately had an injury or away on international duty he was probably fun as most consistent performer he's just he quietly goes about his business ah does the dirty work allows the more talented skillful players in the team and to do what they do best and he's a real unsung hero oh so but probably from fans on the outside but he's he's definitely appreciated by Fulham fans who watch the games week in week out and yeah as I said it's unfortunate he's got injured Sander Burgers had to come in now.
00:04:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Biggish money signing from who was he playing for Burnley because he was at Sheffield tonight so he's had two relegations under his belt.
00:04:48
Daniel
Yeah,
00:04:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
He had a bit of a shaky start against Aston Villa last week and but in the Everton game he was he did a lot better.
00:04:59
Daniel
yeah I think it's really positive for clubs like Brentford and Fulham how we have been able to overcome um losing big players because you to other teams. It may cause them to be in trouble at the bottom of the table. I get i guess the last thing I wanted to ask on behalf of Brentford fans to Fulham is How do full of fans see this game? So I know there's some Brentford fans who see like the full of game as something they look out for in the Premier League calendar every season. Obviously it's a West London Derby. I think for me personally, I probably have more of a dislike towards QPR and when we play QPR, because there's a bit of history there in terms of them in the past tried to buy out Brentford when Brentford were in financial ruin.
00:05:44
Daniel
With Fulham, it's guess a bit newer for me. We only really played from the championship era when Fulham went down and Brentford came up from league one. But how how do Fulham fans see this game and how much do they want to win?
00:05:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, of of course they want to win, with no doubt with' having the bragging rights, um being a local derby. It depends who you

Rivalries and Team Dynamics

00:06:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
ask. it i mean Some Fulham fans might not have animosityity animosity towards Brentford, the and animos animosity might be more towards QPR or Chelsea.
00:06:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
but from a Chelsea perspective, I guess they big their big game is not Fulham, is it? Fulham, their big game is probably is probably Chelsea. So yeah, I mean, it's it's probably one of those things. If you ask 100 Fulham fans, they might give you might give you different answers. Some people might say QPR, some people might say Chelsea, some people might might say Brentford. But of course, you know, it's a fixture that Brentford have had reasonable success in and in the last few years. But ah the one big game, Fulham managed to get the wind, didn't they?
00:06:39
Daniel
Yes, yeah, they did they did. But ultimately, a lot of Brentford fans will tell you that that would have been us in the Premier League for the first time in 73 years what during Covid.
00:06:51
Daniel
And I can really see that that not at that that that's not appealing at all to Brentford fans because, you know, just the thought of having to do that and not being able to be there is something else.
00:07:03
Daniel
And ultimately, I think we probably wouldn't have done as well as we ended up doing the year later when obviously we played our
00:07:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, in fairness, it didn't work out too badly for them, did it? Because Fulham got relegated the next season and Brentford won up.
00:07:13
Daniel
Yeah. And obviously you guys never got to see it. So yeah, but we we've, we've had some good battles since then. Um, and yeah, I think both teams at the moment, it was probably the closest they've ever been in terms of to each other. And it's, I think it's a very hard one to call.
00:07:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely absolutely. There are two teams that do things the right way. um Brentford, as you said, with Tony, with Tony Depard, and there probably would have been concerns from the outside looking in at Brentford. I know that the new side and he got injured straight away, didn't he? And ah wish sir was he looked like he was going to be out for a while. I know he i know he's back now. So, ah but they've they' done very well. And I mean, I think there's 36 goals. It's been 36 goals in the nine games so far. So it's it's not been dull, is it?
00:07:57
Daniel
No, not at all. i guess I guess we'll talk about that more after the break.

So yeah, as I mentioned, Brentford have had reasonable success against Fulham in the league. they did ah They won at Craven Cottage, didn't they? Last season. But the form this season has been

Brentford's Home vs Away Performance

00:08:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
stark, isn't it? Superb at home. I think they've got the joint most points along with Man City 13, but nothing nothing away from home. So why why the stark difference there?
00:08:54
Daniel
Well, I think it's something that I wouldn't have been too surprised to see even at the start of the season, just looking at the fixture list. I mean, our first, if you look at the table now, I believe the bottom five are the five teams we played for at home. So we've played a Wolf, Southampton, Palace, West Ham and It's Rich at the weekend. I believe they probably not the bottom five now, now West Ham one at the weekend, but it's near enough the bottom five that we've played at home and then if you look at our wave fixtures it's Manchester United okay maybe we should have got something there considering how they are at the moment but apart from that is Tottenham Liverpool City so I can understand it I don't think there's any reason to raise alarm bells about our waveform just yet given that vital piece of information about who we've played but
00:09:45
Daniel
The frustration from Brentford fans is even in those away games, like I mentioned earlier, we've taken the lead in most of them. We've made a habit of scoring very early on in these games quite often, which I guess does make it harder to hold on to the lead. But I mean, even at the Etihad, we could have been two or three in the lap before City scored. And ultimately, if you're not, there will be a time in the game where City get on top and they'll score. And they'll score a couple of times, which they did. And I guess that's the frustration. We played well in parts in all those away games.
00:10:15
Daniel
but not got anything from any of them because there's also been periods in those games where we've gone below our level. And I think it goes both ways. I think we've been really good going forwards this season. Only two teams have scored more. And then we've been quite bad at the back. So only three teams, the bottom three have conceded more than us. So they make for entertaining games, but we're also very open at times.
00:10:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and I'm sure you'll be pleased that they are sitting ninth in the league, but like Fulham, as we touched upon in the opening, these are two teams that have given up the lead on multiple occasions this season. I think Fulham have dropped 10 points from winning positions and Brentford, the only team that dropped more, 11 points. So despite being ninth in the league, are you frustrated and think you actually should be higher than that?
00:10:58
Daniel
Yeah, it was a problem last season as well. We we were by far, I think we dropped over 30 points for winning positions last season. And if you think where we ended up in 16th, where we could have finished, if we held onto even some of those leads, it could have been much, much higher. And I think that is a result of us being so good going forward and not good enough at the back at the moment. I think you're seeing this season, we're trying to adapt our playing style.
00:11:25
Daniel
In the past, we've been a bit more direct towards Ivan Tony when he was around and we've been a bit more solid at the back. This season, we are trying to play out more from the back and we are trying to progress that playing style, which I think is a really positive thing. And I think Thomas Frank is a really tactically clever manager and he's choosing to do it now when he feels that we're ready to do it. Unlike certain teams that might come up like maybe Southampton this season.
00:11:52
Daniel
who are trying to do it straight away when they're not yet good enough. So we are picking up results and it is really entertaining to watch, but that the concern is and what we will need to do if we are to keep picking up results is tighten up defensively because I don't know if you saw our game against Itchfish at the weekend, but we completely fell apart at times during that first half and against better teams, we will get punished and we won't necessarily always score four or five to make up for that.
00:12:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Just going back to the away form, I know you said there's been some difficult fixtures away from home. Does he does he set up any different than he does at home?
00:12:30
Daniel
No, not really against, not really based on whether it's home or away. We set up differently against the the the best teams. So we'll we'll set up against the likes of City and Liverpool in more of a back five. Everyone else it's usually a back four, even United away. We set up in a back four, I think. And that's more reflective of where they're at at the moment, um compared to maybe the other big teams. But now I expect Bradford to be in a four again at Fulham in a very similar shape to how we set up against Ipswich.
00:13:00
Daniel
I think itgainst it's which maybe we played with more of a 10. Maybe we'll play with more of a deeper three in midfield um to try and be a bit more solid. But that's the only tweak I can see us making. I think it will still be a back four. And obviously we've got the front three, which includes Mbuma and Wisser, who have both been on fire this season and they keep scoring. So that's always a positive for us.
00:13:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, just with um Waymo there, I remember him in the championship when he was part of that front three with Ben Rama and Ollie Watkins, and he was, I guess he was the third the third guy really, the other there was more focus on the other two. when When you were watching him in the championship, were you were you confident that he would he would be able to score the goals in the Premier League? I know he's he's only behind Harland in the scoring charts. Now, did you always feel confident that he was going to produce in this league?
00:13:46
Daniel
I think with him, it's been a progression every season. I mean, we bought him as a 19 year old. So around that year with Ben Rama and Watkins, he would have been a 19 year old in the championship first year in England. I think he still did get double figures goals, but obviously it wasn't as much as as the other two. So I think there's there's always big hope and expectation for him based on how old he was and how he was progressing. I think every single year we see an improvement from him. I think in his first and second Premier League season,
00:14:15
Daniel
Perhaps he wasn't as clinical in front of goal as he is now. He was still having the chances, but he was hitting the post or putting it wide. This year, obviously he's become our penalty taker as well. So that's always going to inflate his numbers a little bit. But this year, his I think he's outperforming his XG by a lot. And I mean, everything's going in from at the moment that the goal at Ipswich at the weekend was just across in the last minute. That you know wasn't intended to go in the bottom corner, but it did. I think Sadly for Brentford fans, it's he's coming to the close to the level now where he but is perhaps outgrowing us a little bit and I can see him at a higher level. I can see him maybe at Liverpool when Salah moves on because he's that profile, that position and he might not be that good yet but I think he can grow into it and obviously the goal scoring chart so far this season and suggests in front of goal he's as good as almost anyone. so
00:15:13
Daniel
Yeah, I think it could be the last, last we see of him this season, but we'll we'll get a good chunk of money for him. And, you know, we're quite used to that process and I'm sure we'll replace him well.
00:15:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Interesting. So, speaking of people potentially going to so-called bigger clubs, I guess the the big managerial news this week has been Erichton Harg's departure from Manchester United. Was there any concern when you heard the news that they might look in

Thomas Frank's Future Rumors

00:15:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
the direction of of Thomas Frank? I know they've gone for the sporting manager now, but was there a split second or a moment where you thought Thomas Frank might might be leaving here?
00:15:43
Daniel
Yeah, there was rumors about it in the summer as well. I think there was rumors about him going to Chelsea and then there was rumors that Man United were one of the teams that obviously they spoke, they were allegedly spoke to some managers in the summer and there was rumors that Thomas Frank was one of them.
00:15:58
Daniel
i wouldn't be glad to him if he left. I know that every manager obviously has ambitions to manage at the highest level. I think he's been brilliant for Brentford over the years. So I can see why bigger teams might look at him, especially if you look at how he played in the championship. And obviously he's shown he's adaptable as well. This season, he's trying to play a more attractive style of play again. So he's showing that he can coach different styles, that he can be adaptable.
00:16:26
Daniel
He's not fixed on one thing. He'll adapt to the opposition. So I think I can see why he's an attractive um proposition. He has been very respectful though to Brentford in any any times that he's asked it this this week at his press conference before the Cup game. All he was asked was about the Man United job essentially. And he's always said he's very, very happy at Brentford. but At the same time, you if he did choose to move on, we can understand it. And I think when that time comes, it will be the biggest decision that the Brentford hierarchy have had to make in a long, long time. Because if you get that wrong in terms of replacing him, then you know that could be us in in real trouble. So I hope that day doesn't come, but I'm prepared for it to happen relatively soon.
00:17:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. um So if if he went to one of the so-called big six teams, do you think he could have success?
00:17:18
Daniel
ah Yeah, well, I guess it's time, isn't it? You don't always get time at these really big clubs. And even if you look back to his first 11 games at Brentford, I think he lost seven of them and there were people calling for his head ah in that period. But we stuck with him and obviously look where we are now. And I don't necessarily know if he'll be afforded the same time at a massive club. And of course, he's untested with that level of scrutiny. If he was to go to a Man United, it's much more scrutiny.
00:17:48
Daniel
in everything's criticized much more. He will obviously be coaching players with bigger egos, although Ivan Tony at times did have quite a large ego. So maybe he's a bit used to that, but he generally the players will have, you know, big, bigger egos and he will have to manage that. And I guess it's untested. So there's a risk there. There is a risk there for any big club that goes in for him. We've seen examples that, you know, didn't really work like Graham Potter when he left Brighton to go to Chelsea, but I do think anyone that comes in for him needs to give him time and he's to understand that. um But I don't see why it can't work. He's a very good manager. We've seen everything from him over the years at Brentford. He's oh is put us in a position that we never thought we'd be in. So I don't see why it can't work, but obviously it is a risk.
00:18:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely.

Brentford's Focus on Carabao Cup

00:18:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
And just finally, um you secured progression to the court finals of the Carabao Cup with that penalty shootout win over Sheffield Wednesday. Where does a competition like the Carabao Cup rank in terms of priorities this season? Because looking from the outside, Brentford looked like a comfortable probably mid-table team. So it is Cup progress important to the fans?
00:18:58
Daniel
Yeah, absolutely. Personally, for me, I mean, Brentford have never again in our history been to a major domestic cup final. So to get somewhere like that this season or, you know, in the next couple of years, when you reach the premier league, you feel like you're good enough to potentially do it. And like you said, we're we're currently mid table. We did put a strong team out last night against Jeff or Wednesday. It wasn't convincing again, but ultimately we got through, um,
00:19:28
Daniel
I don't know whether part of the reason we weren't quite strong was because it six days and until we play Fulham on Monday night. Um, but I mean, now we're in the last eight, the quarterfinal, I mean, you look at the teams left, it's going to be tough, but it would be an absolute dream. And obviously again, I think winning the league cup comes to the Europa at some sort of Europa league place possibly. Um, so, you know, it would be equivalent to finishing seven or seven for eight from the league, which is our ambition anyway. So.
00:19:55
Daniel
It would be silly not to really try and give it a go. And it would give the fans day out that again, we've not experienced before. And it will be a chance for Thomas Rant to make history, which I'm sure he'll want to do. And if he does want to go to a big club, trying to win a major trophy of someone like Brentford would really, really help his credentials um in getting one of those jobs in the future.
00:20:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, if he is going to say fair while he isn't the worst send off, is it to to bring a trophy to Brentford in his final season? Not that I'm trying to get a move elsewhere or anything like that. ah So shortly we will preview this game in a bit greater detail, look at some key players and give our score predictions. But before we do that, Dan, do you just want to say a few words about the Global Sports Podcast Network?

Global Sports Podcast Network
So let's look at this game that's coming up on Monday. Obviously, Fulham fans will know about Mbuaemal, they'll know about Visser. Could you just shed some light on maybe one or two of the other players that they should be looking out for?
00:21:16
Daniel
Yeah. If you're looking at our best players this season, I think you're looking at someone like dams guard. I think everyone knows him for scoring that free kick against England in the semi-final of, I think the last euros in 2021. After that, he was linked with the likes of Barcelona.
00:21:33
Daniel
It didn't quite materialise for him. I think he got injured for a good period of about a year after that after that Euros and he hadn't scored um until he scored for Brentford a few months ago since that goal at the Euros. And because of the injury problems, obviously we were able to pick him up, but he joined us in a state where he just wasn't he wasn't really fit. I think his confidence had dipped. It took him a long time to really get up to speed.
00:22:01
Daniel
But this season we're really seeing the player that we thought we were getting. We're really seeing the player that we saw at the Euros a few years ago. And I think he's got four assists in the last three Premier League games now. He takes our set pieces. Everything good that we do in the last few games in the Premier League has gone through him. um He was one that we rested it actually in the Cup against Sheffield Wednesday. He came off the bench when we needed a goal.
00:22:26
Daniel
Um, but yeah, I think he's definitely been one of our best players this season. I don't think, again, people outside of Brentford probably haven't caught onto that quite yet. Um, if we're looking at anybody else, there's, there's a few players again, who have grown this season. There may be have levels still to hit. I think someone like Keen Lewis Potter, who will probably start on the left. He did very well in the championship with Hull. Again, he had a bit of a stop start season with Brentford last season with injuries.
00:22:55
Daniel
He's been put out to left wing back at times because we have a bit of problems with squad depth when we when we play a back five against the bigger teams. I don't think it helps in playing in that position. But again, in the in in a front three, I think against Ipswich, he had his best game in his brand in in a Brentford shirt. He got mad in the match despite not scoring any of the um four goals that we scored. um From him, I just wanted to see him be a bit more direct and have a bit more end product. but He's not scared to take on his man and he will compliment Whistler and Bummo in that front line. So I think maybe them two are the ones to look out for, especially offensively.
00:23:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
And would you expect any team changes from the the side that won against Ipswich?
00:23:36
Daniel
and Chris Iyer was out against Ipswich. He has been playing at left back because Rico Henry has been out for over a year now and we haven't really got another left back to replace him, which is far from my ideal.
00:23:50
Daniel
But Chris Iron missed the Ipswich game. I think he had a minor foot injury. He missed a cup game as well. But Thomas Frank said he should be back for this one. So I'd expect him to slot back in at left back and Vandenberg will um move over to right back. But it will be very much like a Man City back four and they like to play four centre backs at the back because that's what we're forced into doing at the moment through lack of full bats because Aaron Hickey on the other side has also been out for the best part of the year as well.
00:24:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think from a full-on perspective, if you look at their home performances in isolation, they've all they've all been very good. Maybe the one that was a bit under par was against Aston

Fulham's Tactical Shifts

00:24:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Villa. Aston Villa are a top-quality side and their Champions League-caliber side, but their home performances have been good. They should have won three games out of three. They lost the lead in 95th minutes to West Ham United.

um So the key bits of team news from the Fulham side, I will expect Yocky Anderson to come back and he was suspended from the game last weekend against Everton. Isid Yock has done a commendable job when he has had the chance to play, he's done nothing wrong but having signed Anderson for 30 million he was always going to come into the team pretty swiftly. and you know he adds He adds something a bit extra that the Op maybe can't offer just with his Ranger pass and that sort of thing. He's he's got great leadership qualities as well. And the other thing to look out for potentially is I think Fulham fans are crying out for Reece Nelson to come into the team now. Signing on Deadline Day on loan from Arsenal and we've seen glimpses of him. Started in the Carabao Cup game against Preston but he's been restricted to appearances off the bench.

and whenever he has come off the bench he he's made an impact but so I think he's getting to that stage now you just want to see a bit more of him you you want to see what he can do from the start because the same certain players look better they look more comfortable that when they come off the bench and then when you start them in games they don't seem to have that same effect With Adama Troyer, I don't know if you would have seen the highlights from the game against Man City when he he missed three clear-cut chances. and That's always been the criticism of it of him in his career, whether it's at Wolves or you know whoever. He started the season really well for Fullman, just since that game. He seems i don't know seems to have knocked his confidence and he's been quiet in the last two games, so there is the option there potentially to switch.

It will be over to the right side where he's a great player to have. He's very versatile. In the game against Everton, you saw him start on the left, go over to the right and he finished through the middle. He's one of those players you could probably put in the unsung hero category where he's been really consistent, ah whether it's goals or assists, even if he's not providing goal contributions, his level of performance is always generally seven out of ten. He never really has a stinker.

um So that could be another change we're looking at from a full and point of view. um So just in terms of the game perspective, how how do you how do you expect it to to pan out sort from a tactical point of view?

Match Predictions and Tactics

00:26:40
Daniel
Well, I think we'll try and persist with how we're how we've been trying to play in terms of playing out from the back. If you press us aggressively, I would be worried in terms of us conceding the ball high up the field in dangerous areas because it's it's been apparent in recent games, it's which did it to us at the weekend in the first half, that if we are pressed quite aggressively,
00:27:06
Daniel
We're not yet quite good enough at doing what we're trying to do um without conceding the ball or sometimes in dangerous areas. Obviously, the opposite to that is when it does work and when we do play through, we could be in on goal, especially if you if you do um press aggressively. So I think it will be high scoring again. I think it's got to be high scoring the way we've been playing um recently.
00:27:30
Daniel
I would expect you to probably press us. I hope that we are more adaptable during the game because I don't think there's a need to go short all the time, especially if Fulham have the momentum and especially if Fulham are on top in that game, I think to relieve some pressure at times, we just need to go longer. um But it's ah it's a really difficult one considering Brentford have been so up and down of late. I mean, in our last three games, I'd say we've had one good 45 minutes and one bad 45 minutes in each game.
00:27:59
Daniel
So it entirely um depends on what version of Brentford turns up. But I think we're always good for a goal or two um moving forward, especially Whistler and Bummo, them two have been been brilliant. And obviously Whistler has been injured for part of the season, but he's still and on five or six goals himself as well. So I think we're good for goals as well. So I'd maybe say a high scoring draw um just because I don't really know how how we're going to turn up, to be honest. And I think Fulham,
00:28:28
Daniel
or a good team. You're probably better than the teams you played at home and maybe not quite as good as most of the teams you played away so far. So it will be a good matchup I think and I think it will be very close.
00:28:38
Daniel
So I'm going to go high score and draw.
00:28:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
So what do we look at that 2-2 is it? Something like that?
00:28:43
Daniel
Yeah, something it like 2-2 and then probably the usual suspects on the score sheet in terms of a boomer whizzer.
00:28:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, i think I think it's going to be a highly entertaining game as we touch on Brentford have scored 18 and conceded 18. But away from them they have looked a bit shaky. Fulham will get on the front foot at home, they'll back themselves against ah any opposition, maybe maybe Man City aside. but so yeah the performances at home have have been excellent, say maybe apart from the Aston Villa game. I can see Fulham nicking this one 2-1, probably going into it going into a two goal lead, um hopefully for Jimenez, Jimenez by the way as well, I mean this is a guy revitalised, this has been probably the surprise of the season from a Fulham point of view because Muniz came into the team and halfway through last season, it looked like Jimenez's days may be numbered and
00:29:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, you start the season, him and this came in and then he scored like, I think four four in his last five.

Conclusion and Farewell to Dan

And even when he hasn't been scoring, he's been adding something to the team. So I'm looking at him to get himself on the score sheet again. Fun going into two goalies. Brentford to pull a goal back, probably through in Bohemo and then for Nervi, 10, 15 minutes towards the end, Fulham fans fighting. And then they also thinking, no, not going to let slip another lead here, but just managing to hang on in the end. But yeah, it'll be it' be an entertaining game. Is it is it one is one you're going to?
00:29:59
Daniel
Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be there. I might be taking a boat there as well for Brentford.
00:30:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, fascinating, fascinating.
00:30:03
Daniel
Brentford like to arrange a boat party. So that'll be fun up the Thames.
