Speaker: Nostalgia from the 80s and 90s Memories we seek

Speaker: Geek. Culture in our blood. We love it so much

Speaker: We talk about it it all. From superheroes to wrestlers. We stan - And talk. We ain't Kevin. The dynamic duo inside. Keep on shining, bruh Shining bright

Speaker: Have a ball.

Speaker: Yeah. Let's go now. Not much you not Not much, not much. Busy night tonight. D23 has started. We'll talk all about that in a little bit. preview.

Speaker: Next week we'll talk about the big Marvel reveals tonight. It's going to happen at 10 p .m. Late night for this old guy. What? Let's start off with a couple of finales, what we watched this week.

Speaker: um The big one. Now we're going to have to wait another two years to watch the continuation of and the finale of. is House of Dragon. It did end. Final episode of the season.

Speaker: Renera. You can tell that she does not have long. In Westeros, as far as... in the city as queen. Um... She has now gone against the...

Speaker: religious, sect. of this world Um, and done something That I didn't know if she would do or not did she do that in the books when she kills the high scepter guy Does she go against the church? She does? Okay.

Speaker: Like I said, I mean, I listened to the audio book and, like... 20, fuck, 2020, 2021. Okay, so... um So yeah, I just know like the main points winds up um at the end of it all, but at least that's...

Speaker: at the end of the story in the book. which I think is gonna go much further than the story they're gonna tell. I think it's going to be this is a written error story. um Yeah. So like they probably could have gotten another two seasons out of what happens. where I assume they're going to stop at this point. um Like I said last week, they're not going to do the Hour of the Wolf, I don't think, which is really unfortunate. Um... Because that's literally when they announced it, that was the one thing I really wanted to see.

Speaker: Um. but um So it's really hard for me to say but I do remember like I remember a lot of the big battles And I have no idea, because they are changing a lot of stuff too, so I have no idea what's to come, honestly, in the last season. I just know of...

Speaker: The battle over the god's eye is the second. thing I was looking forward to. And that is for sure 1000 % going to happen. And if they do it right, it's going to be a top three moment in the history of Game of Thrones.

Speaker: if they do it right. Right. so Yeah, I think I know what that is. I know a few spoilers for this, but... um Overall, before we get into the the specifics of what happened in the episode, are you happy with how this season turned out as far as what you know?

Speaker: This season was excellent. Um, okay. I don't think this show is on the level of Game of Thrones as far as writing is concerned. Um... For me. I think Game of Thrones, at least for...

Speaker: four to six seasons, some of the best written television of all time, whereas this doesn't seem like it's going to be as rewatchable to me. Um... But i I was very happy with it. Of course, a lot of it now is, I mean, Game of Thrones came out in a time where we weren't just fucking vomited out fucking tv shows constantly on streaming So that may have something to do with it too. like I feel like that with a lot of new stuff that comes out, like I enjoy a lot of it. but A lot of it doesn't feel as rewatchable to me.

Speaker: Um... Because it's just like constant, constant, constant. It's a lot. It's when we went from it's like we went from like buying CDs... You buy a CD and you listen to that CD for like weeks. Now it's like every week you get like three albums to listen to because you have Apple Music or Spotify or whatever. It's just so much all at once. So I don't know if that's affecting the way I view it.

Speaker: stuff now, but like... yeah But I was very happy with the way the season went. um The thing I don't like... Yeah. The thing I didn't like... is the change in Renera.

Speaker: but they have to have somebody for the audience to root for. And in the book there, you literally like, like you root for her because she technically should be the queen or whatever um but once she gets the thrones in the what she gets or takes the throne of the book. Um...

Speaker: She is... vicious, like all that stuff with the... All that stuff with the poor people, um... She doesn't give a shit about poor people in the books. Allison...

Speaker: At this point has been like. Tortured. and like Basically, like... getting raped multiple times. um And then she does the escape like similar to this except they did they skipped all the torture stuff because they made them Like... almost friends like which is what a lot of people were very upset with about in the second season is when they had that that secret meeting.

Speaker: um so to speak um but i mean it's a different medium you have to adapt it to what you're doing um Stuff that works in comics isn't going to work. on the big screen as well as well as it did in the comics and vice versa, stuff like that. So it's understandable. But overall, I was very happy with this season. um I was looking forward to it every week. And thank God we're getting lanterns on Sunday because I needed something else to watch on Sunday. And Lanterns is going to last until October, so that would be awesome. Yes. Yep.

Speaker: First off, I don't know... If I just noticed it this time, I knew the tapestry in the beginning of the intro of it, but I did not notice that it was covered in blood. It was soaking up blood. Did you notice that in the background of the stitching?

Speaker: It's new every week. It's different every week. yeah i know just had a lot of throne joins yeah So I think that might have been just for this episode. I'm not sure though, but I did not notice it. Yeah, I noticed that. and We did that we didn't find out that it was Helena's tapestry at the end of the last episode. so Um...

Speaker: Speaking of Renera, the first line that she says when a whole bunch of fucking shit's happening to her. She says, fucking Viserys, her father. She curses him because she's blaming him for putting her on the throne.

Speaker: Um... Agon and Sunfire. go to Harrenhal and confront Aemond. This is the first time Heyman's been seen by a main character. um This whole entire season he's been in hiding.

Speaker: And, uh... he's been asked by Aegon more commanded by Aegon to go help find his dragon so they can go and take out Rhaenyra at King's Landing.

Speaker: So that's setting up what's going to happen next season. Rhaenyra's war with the gods, kind of already mentioned it, she killed the high, the high, high, high, high Um... religious sect guy or whoever he is.

Speaker: Killed him. um and retaliation for not making her queen. Correct. Because it was not in God's will, pretty much. That was a big thing in the books is that he was not on her side at all. yeah um I do remember that.

Speaker: Yep. um or Except in Eustace or... No, I don't think it was. That's the guy that's telling the story in the books. Okay. yeah sir Okay. Ormond. got, quote, fucked by the North.

Speaker: i don't remember this so I don't remember the Stark's name, but... um He ended up perishing, too. Oh, fuck. I'm blanking on it now. Oh, my God. But I fucking i love that character in the book. I do. I love him in this show. It's the guy from...

Speaker: Braveheart, Gladiators, tons of anarchy. You see him without the makeup and in the beard, you realize he's in everything. Him as Chubbs in Sons of Anarchy is so good. oh my god i'm forgetting his name it's but yeah it's he's awesome He's great in the in the book, too. um So yeah, I was... The way he just like... he Gets his arm cut off.

Speaker: And then he sees a dragon, and he's basically like, fucking bring it, because he basically he already killed the dude. And so, yeah, that was awesome. The scene before that when the kid... Hits him in the ankle. And he just goes by with the axe. It's the kid right in the face with the axe. Great scene. He goes and confronts Orman.

Speaker: And... he ends up having a big knockdown drag out fight with orman and shove a sword right straight up his ass It's just kebabs. I'm right as Ulf. comes in and does a triple cross.

Speaker: He already crossed Nornera, now he's crossing Orman because Orman did the same exact thing that Daemon did two episode episodes ago and embarrassed him um and made him feel small and little. So he took his dragon.

Speaker: And he burned and turned on all of Orman's army and burned the whole entire Tumbleton down. I don't know if that happens the same way in the books or not. but it was awesome in the show. um There's two Battles of Tumbleton in the books.

Speaker: Yeah. um So I can't remember what happens, but yes. Something similar to that doesn't happen. I know there's significant players that die in one of the battles, so I'm wondering if next i what that's going to happen next season.

Speaker: Right. I do know that happens in the second battle. Um... And the end of this, there's no real winner. There's there's hurt on each side. Like, you don't know if it's the greens or the blacks have won, or you don't know who's who has the higher...

Speaker: stroke as far as this war is concerned right now. going into the final season. That might be the only battle of tu's Tumbleton they show. They might have just combined it. Because maybe... um maybe one one and one and then one one the other they're just gonna go a wash because there's so many battles because... Right. all the dragons are still there like for the most part like we thought we lost sunfire But... in the books and you like that so it's like one of those things where it's like right I don't know.

Speaker: Unless they split the next season into like they did the last season of Game of Thrones and like they've done with... Sopranos, where they'd take a 6A, 6B, 5A, 5B, whatever they ended up with. Well, I mean, technically, Thrones didn't do that. They just shortened both of the last seasons to 7. Right, right.

Speaker: in six episodes but yeah I know what you're saying Um... Helena, the very end of this episode, sacrifices herself, R .I .P., just because she was, number one, she was a prisoner for Rhaenyra, so she knew that...

Speaker: If she had that baby... The baby would have been ripped right out of her arms or killed before she even had a chance to be buried. is a big change from the books because that's exactly what happens in the books. As they're escaping.

Speaker: The baby literally gets his head popped off. Okay. So yeah. I think that was a positive change for the show. Like I said, they're adapting the books. They don't have to do it exactly just like when they make a Superman movie based on three or four different comics. They just kind of combine different ideas from those comics.

Speaker: And the final scene that we see in this episode... um The tapestry, Helena's tapestry. After she dies, Rhaenyra finds it. Looks at the tapestry and it reveals that since she's a dream. She's a dreamer um Helena has been...

Speaker: making scenes that are she's dreaming of in her mind. um on this tapestry. And one of the scenes, the last one you see of the show, is Rhaenyra or somebody sitting on a throne. dripping with blood and there's fire surrounding them. Um... Speculation it could be either Aegon or Rhaenyra. it depends on how you really prospect that. but um That's the very last scene you see leading up to what we're going to see next season.

Speaker: Um... Yeah. It was an awesome episode. I liked it. I do want to say, if anybody goes back and is going to rewatch the original Game of Thrones, um Season 5, they spoil the end of this story.

Speaker: um Yes, they do. So just be careful. Yeah, that's how I know it too. I'm not going to mention it now. Yeah. um Everything, all the pieces are definitely falling together for that. premonition so Fuck Joffrey.

Speaker: I'll say that. um But yeah, great series, and it sucks we have to wait another two years. but it seems like everybody's very high on it new locations new dragons new battles and a whole bunch of stuff happening too. set up the final game uh the pieces of the puzzle to uh End the Targaryen reign of dragons in Westeros.

Speaker: um I know they don't particularly end in the last battle, but I know it's they're weakened at that point. There's a few dragons left, a couple maybe I think a couple dragons left at the end that die off of old age. but um the big ones end up going. I know that. Yeah, there's I'm not going to spoil anything anything, but there's a reason why the dragons die off. um Which I'm sure that what they'll do is they'll probably do a...

Speaker: Like when they fade to black on the show, they'll explain how The Last of the Dragons died. I'm wondering... I really hope they do do that, because I know it's a big deal, but it takes a long time to get to that point, because I know they last a little bit longer than the book ends. There's a lot to go after where I think they're going to end.

Speaker: the story. Um... So, I mean, i always from the moment it was announced, I figured there would be about four seasons, but I thought we'd get to a lot of the stuff that happened this season. in like season two where they built up the first two seasons

Speaker: To get to season three and four. So that's why it's it there. It feels like they're rushing it, but it's just, it's the story they want to tell. So. yeah in the future be years so we'll see the future The future of this series, we ah we know we're getting Aegon's Conquest, which is set 100 years before this, 200 years before this. eon looks Something like that.

Speaker: something like that yeah and of course we're gonna be getting it every season of Dunkin Egg. which has been incredible. This last first season was great. I just... um Second season just ended.

Speaker: I worry about that. Yeah, they just finished filming. I worry about that show only because... From what I've heard, because I actually i went back after the show and and that's when I finally listened to the audiobook. You did. But I didn't want to go into the second one because I'm waiting for the second season and I'll do it. um What I heard is...

Speaker: the first book is a lot more action -packed than like the second one's much more character development, which I don't mind, but... The general audience, you don't know how they're going to react to that. And people like to troll anyways and give their fucking opinions on Twitter. Yeah.

Speaker: but i'm working forward Those are easy to watch just because they're short. um And they're not connected to all the other Game of Thrones stuff. I mean, it is, but it's it's its own little separate thing. There's no dragons involved. You know they're Targaryens, but it's an easy show to get into.

Speaker: Yeah, can't wait. A couple of years. We've got to watch for more dragons, but in the final part of the dragons. but Um... And we had another finale we're going to talk about. Life layering the pursuit of unhappiness. the seventh episode.

Speaker: This one... um the The preview of this show that came out like four months ago was him at the World War II parade. um And he had the kiss with the with the victory lady when World War II ended. um That was the beginning of this episode with Joe Mantolino, whatever his name is.

Speaker: Joe Petra. Joey Pants. No, the other one. Joe Madman, the guy who did Deathstroke. Oh, Joe Madman, the guy who did Deathstroke. Iron True Blood, yeah. Yeah, true blood, yeah. um william henry harrison president the whole bit about that um The Donner Party cannibalism sketch was awesome. Greg Kinnear, Vince Vaughn, Jeff Garland was in that one. Daughter Party, if you don't know, were stuck on a mountain in the middle of the winter.

Speaker: um And they ended up being cannibals and ate the rest of their party and then they were found by in this episode Greg Kinnear Which is funny. um And the very last scene was a... We already know Barack Obama is... produce this show. yeah Um, and he shows up in the very last sketch and, uh,

Speaker: and recreates him wearing the brown tan suit that he wore about fifty I think about... 15 years ago, or something like that. Yep. But yeah, overall, I love this show. I'm not sure if it'll continue for a second season or not. I'm not sure of the ratings or whatever. but I think a lot of people are loving it. Um, they just loved Larry being Yes.

Speaker: So, I don't know. i ever i i hope it I hope it continues. I love history. so Another finale, the final finale of the week. X -Men 97. Man. What a great fucking season. Oh, not great. I'm going to i'm gonna tackle that in September when I have time.

Speaker: I only got to one and a half episodes of Reacher so far this week. oh Yeah, we'll talk about that in a minute. yeah um Gambit, Rogue. Nightcrawler, that's all I'm going to say, were the... pivotal points of this episode.

Speaker: yeah um In the after credits scene, we see Mystique. And she infiltrates the... government in a way. And that's pretty much all I'm going to say about it because you haven't seen it yet. Overall, the Apocalypse storyline was great.

Speaker: How they brought in the Celestials as as his creator was awesome. um And they kind of, like I mentioned... a few weeks ago, they retconned a lot of the shit that Marvel had done in the MCU that didn't didn't hit well with audiences and they did it well in this.

Speaker: I like the Celeste shoes. Awesome. So, yeah, great, great, great series. And it'll be up back, I think, yearly. I think Season 3 is going to happen next year and Season 4 is definitely going to happen the year after. I'm not sure if it's going to continue after that. but Yeah, great show.

Speaker: Stuart saves the multiverse. Or the universe fails to save the universe. um This show is fantastic. um This week, Mayim Bialik, who played Blossom, she was on she was on Big Bang Theory. She was Sheldon's wife, girlfriend.

Speaker: um She had a cameo in this. John Cryer. who was in Two and a Half Men, one of Chuck Lorre, who did Big Bang Theory. He was also in Two and a Half Men. He had a cameo in this as well.

Speaker: um Weird Al. Had a cameo playing an accordion in this episode. Um, and the whole reveal of this episode, spoiler, but I don't care. It's kind of a cool thing that might get you tagged in. Um, he realizes that he's in like a dream state in a mental hospital.

Speaker: And they're telling him, it's not real. It's not real. He's getting these visions. It's not real. Wake up, Stuart. um And the very end of the episode, him and the four guys the three guys that he's traveling with all wake up in the pods from the Matrix. So they're going into the IP of Warner Brothers Which they can get into Because they're done they're a mac show HBO Max show so Right Um.

Speaker: Yeah, it's it's a great show. I'm surprised I like it as much. I did love Big Bang Theory, but yeah i I'm surprised this show. like big bang bear yeah it's ah it' Definitely hit or miss for a lot of people, but this is if you love that show, you'll love this. I didn't even watch Young Sheldon, but I didn do love this. I think with the Big Bang Theory, one of the things was I was told it was like the greatest comedies in Seinfeld. Then I watched it and I was like... yeah It was one of those things I just didn't really feel like it was...

Speaker: Which is funny because I feel like I should like it a lot because the subject matter and whatnot. but Oh yeah, it's a lot of stuff that we love. Exactly. It's everything. so that's Maybe I'll try it again. Maybe I'll try. Yeah, yeah yeah go into it. I'm not sure even where to start.

Speaker: with that show because it's it's definitely a hit or miss for a lot of people so it's hard to hard hard to even tell someone to watch it. I hate laugh tracks. I think that was my issue. So the only one you like is Seinfeld, really?

Speaker: Seinfeld friends. Friends? Yeah, okay. Like, pretty much anything that was made in the 90s had a studio audience, Frasier. It did. I haven't really cared for many sitcoms since then. Yeah, yeah it's the the old classic sitcoms, you don't see them too much anymore, and if you do, they're not that good. You're right about that. um That's a big part of it, but yeah. But that's what I grew up with, so the last tracks are normal.

Speaker: There's episodes of Seinfeld where you can audibly hear Larry David laughing because he has such a distinct laugh. That's funny. And it's fucking hilarious. Like... I didn't obviously know it back then, but then I'd seen Curb so many times. Right, yeah. And you can audibly hear Larry David because he's just off on the side just laughing his ass off. That's great. A show like that, I just love, like, I don't know.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, I'll continue talking about this show. I do enjoy it. Ted Lasso, season two. You have a chance to catch up on this week's episode. No, I told you um Oh, I don't think I mentioned to you, I did cancel Apple TV for a little bit, for a few months, because I don't have enough time to watch all these streaming services. um So I'll probably catch up on that. um Is it...

Speaker: on the Plex or not. It will be. Okay, yeah I'll probably watch it then. Yep. Because... my boss is trying to talk to me about i'm like i canceled the apple like i don't know what to tell you yeah Yeah. A lot of people are canceling shit right now. It's so it's the norm in America. things are Number one, too many streaming services. Number two, too many shows.

Speaker: And three, the prices are astronomical what they were compared to 10 years ago, even five years ago. And the normal consumer can't afford it. I only signed up for Apple TV again.

Speaker: Um... For shrinking, right? Because I was going to cancel it for... No, not for shrinking, for, uh... I signed up for it for Shrinking and I cancelled it. And then my sister wanted to watch a Red Sox game and... use my apple walk -in for that so i was like fine i'll fucking sign up for it again and then Cape Fear came out.

Speaker: okay yeah yeah yeah So that's why. And then I watched Cape Fear and I canceled after that. Yep. Uh, yeah, yeah, the the price of this shit's ridiculous, but... This episode, he goes back to Richmond.

Speaker: um That's basically all it is, him meeting the girl team. and um seeing Seeing they have shitty plate you have like a shitty locker room that's like a closet that he tries to upgrade with with Kaylee. so right um The premiere... For the first episode.

Speaker: 296 minutes million minutes washed um during the first two days it was out so um Biggest thing for Apple TV ever. It just proves how powerful this show is for them. so Awesome.

Speaker: Dark Side of the Ring. Mr. Wonderful. I didn't know anything about Mr. Wonderful. I'm glad I do now. I haven't seen this, but I really want to. I'm going to watch it tonight. Okay. I loved Mr. Wonderful, but he was also kind of before my time.

Speaker: like he was like wrestlemania one two three ish and then wcw is where i really knew him from Okay, yeah, the power plant. Later on in the early 90s, power plant or whatever, yeah. That's where I really knew him from.

Speaker: Well, you know him from Mania 1, the main event in WrestleMania 1. Oh, yeah, I wasn't watching Mania 1. Right, but you've gone back. I knew the name, and I'd seen the teeth the tapes and stuff, but yeah yeah yeah. I mean, for the most part, like...

Speaker: plus i mean he has one of the his pile driver is so good looking Oh, awesome looking. So sexy, that move. um but yeah go on talk about the episode because i want to know Um... Well... He had a falling out with Vince McMahon similar to...

Speaker: The alternate warrior. Where they didn't actually ah end up talking for like... 15 years yeah after that. um He left the company on bad terms. He didn't show up one day. And he goes and the and he actually retires from wrestling. Owns owns a bowling alley.

Speaker: um And his partner fucks him and screws him out of all of his money. So as it going back into wrestling works for WCW ends up becoming one of the trainers in their training program in the power plan in WCW.

Speaker: um And he works with them up until, I believe, the end. um and He actually comes back into a match and fights all of his people. They actually show it in this show.

Speaker: Two things I wanted to mention. um They show him fighting all of his trainees. um he is At this point, he's very frail. He doesn't look like the Mr. Wonderful of the 80s. He does the pile driver. He does all that stuff.

Speaker: but it's just not the Mr. Wonderful you see in the beginning of this documentary. The other thing I wanted to mention was the shoot interview. You must have seen the one that he did in the early 2000s. They play clips of that, and that's the that's where the interviews with him come from in this episode. oh yeah So yeah I was wondering if you you probably had saw that. so I'm sure Rob Feinstein got a nice pretty penny from it when he asked in for footage. i'm sure I'm sure a lot of the footage comes from Rob.

Speaker: but possibly yeah yeah you know it's funny that To Catch a Predator movie is coming out, and he was featured on a local To Catch a Predator story. but You know, we won't talk about that here, now will we? Wouldn't that be great if Robert Pattinson beats Rob Feinstein?

Speaker: yeah in that that movie. um Yeah, but great great episode. um The end of his life is heartbreaking. and i don't And you're either going to fall on the side of his son or the side of all the wrestlers that hate his son for letting him out of the hospital. I don't know if you know any of that story or not. I didn't know it going in. I do not know much. Okay. yeah Last update I have is actually from Bobby Heenan shooting a video where they asked him.

Speaker: If you still talk to Paul. And he kind of gives like a brief update about how he was doing at the time. And then of course, when he died. Yeah, a big controversy with that. So when you watch that...

Speaker: ah You can text me. We'll talk about it. but and ah But the main event, the one thing we need to talk about... is Reacher. Reacher came back season 4. um First episode.

Speaker: The first five minutes he has a cheesesteak. Yes.

Speaker: Hell yeah. um And he has another one ten minutes later. A damn good looking cheesesteak. A 5 a .m. cheesesteak. Which was awesome. um He's in this season, he's in Philadelphia, he's in Washington D .C., he's traveling all around.

Speaker: um The one line... um He's going through, somebody he's walking down a a walkway in a park. um And the woman that he's walking with said, they call this the city of brotherly love.

Speaker: And then Reacher says, their fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus. Which was a yeah great fucking line. Yep.

Speaker: It was. ah There were three episodes this week. We're not going to talk about the particulars because it's just a great show to watch. Great action. It's like America's version of James Bond meets like... John Wick meets just anybody. Just act. ass kicking it's awesome um and they did release a new trailer a new poster for neely which comes out i believe when this series ends it this starts back up or it may have a it may have a quick like uh crossover period when the show

Speaker: when the Neely Show premieres. I know Reacher's in that, so. Possibly that could happen. with That didn't happen until September. but Yeah, great. Um. I think you may have watched Jackass best and last. Did you end up watching some of that?

Speaker: I did not, no. I do not really care for Jackass too much, so... i know Yeah. I watched it. um It was basically a best of with a little bit of new stuff in there, some stuff that's been off the on the cutting room floor in the past 25, 30 years, however long Jackass has been recording. um But overall, it's just like a best of, last ah farewell to the Jackass franchise. Johnny Knoxville is in his 50s now, gray -haired, injured. um he had a

Speaker: colostomy bag at one point or a piss bag at one point. But overall, 3 .5 out of 5. I laughed a lot. But ah it didn't have a lot of new stuff. It was a lot of just rehashing of of of the jackass of the past. Right. um A movie I did watch, I'm hoping... full that you watched? Did you watch the invite?

Speaker: I did not. How was it? Ooh, okay. Um... Well... It starts off very slow. Um... I'm not going to get into the big reveal of the movie if you don't know, but the movie stars Seth Rogen. directed by Olivia Wilde, starring her as well as his wife.

Speaker: Um... Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton are the four main characters, the only characters you see in this whole entire movie. um And there's an invite to a dinner.

Speaker: from this couple who was Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde. um They invite their upstairs neighbors to their house. And there's a lot of complaining from Seth Rogen because they make a lot of noise having sex upstairs. um They have a young daughter that's not here here during this night, but they have to try to...

Speaker: Um. pivot from all that noise and try to tell her, oh, it's nothing, it's nothing. They get into it a little bit in this, but... Overall, started off very low scored. By the end, though...

Speaker: um I think it kind of took a... a dramatic turn, a little bit of a... romantic comedies type style vibe at the end. um Overall, it's probably a 4 out of 5 for me. Okay. um But it's kind of it's it's a little bit above it's above average, but it's maybe a little average too.

Speaker: um Very artsy, very dramatic, very drama drum dramatic comedy is basically how you promote this. but Yeah. Olivia Wilde's directed a few movies. I know this there's this one is a couple other ones I've seen there that were decent. She's a good writer, good director. so Yeah, i did it I did enjoy it, though. It was good it was a good movie. so With that being said, let's jump into... the news.

Speaker: And it's not a new set with the trail random which I got the first trailer for Monster. Monster Season 4, I believe. The Lizzie Borden story. um we talked about We talked about some first looks last week, and we did get a trailer for it. It comes out in October, I believe. Yep.

Speaker: yeah And they did play the the famous poem from that. thirty or the 40 wax or whatever. Um... But yeah, look decent. I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch it or not. um And we got a brand new trailer for The Paper Season 2. It's been off of The Office. I love the first season. I'm probably going to love the second season because I love The Office. so Talk about that when it comes out next month.

Speaker: Ben Affleck has a brand new movie he's directed um and starring in called Animals. It's him, Kerry Washington, Gillian aunt jillian Anderson, Steven Yen from The Walking Dead. Comes out on Netflix on October 9th.

Speaker: um I don't even remember what much about this. It was about a kidnapping. I remember that. And his son or daughter has been kidnapped. and Other than that, I don't remember much. It was the beginning of the week. but Looks decent, and it's going to be free on Netflix, so I'll be watching that.

Speaker: um And Chad Power Season 2. I liked Chad Power power Season 1, but I was surprised that a Season 2 happened. because I remember that. glenn powell is a very famous person he well number one uh produced this show so he's getting producer credit um so it's kind of like a passion project i would guess but yeah um

Speaker: Overall, I liked it. I'm glad to see a continuation of it, but it can't last too much longer because everybody's going to realize he's... duping everybody as being this Chad Powers character playing fake football. so But the new season comes out on September 3rd on Hulu. And, yeah, we'll talk about that because they did like the first season. so Um... Rolling Loud the movie. Rolling Loud is a festival.

Speaker: Happens once a year. It's a whole bunch of new hip -hop artists usually. um And they're making a movie about it, starring Owen Wilson and Matt Rife.

Speaker: and a whole bunch of Sexy Red, Ski Mask, The Tie Dollar Sign, Tie the Dollar Sign. Henry Winkler's in this as well. um And Travis Scott is a big part of it as well. Comes out October 2nd. Looks funny, but it looks also like one of those... movies it's just going to be horrible once it actually comes out and you actually see it. Not sure if I'm going to see it or not, but did want to mention that.

Speaker: And there was a leak this morning. The internet's not too happy about it, but the full trailer, unfinished trailer for Spider -Man Beyond the Spider -Verse leaked. Did you have a chance to see it?

Speaker: No, I don't watch that. I haven't even watched the first five minutes of lanterns yet. I'm waiting for Sunday. I try not to watch this stuff, so... I was going to wait, too, but I got stuck on on Twitter one day, and I watched it. It's fucking brilliant. um i like I love what they're doing with Lanterns. so We'll talk about that at the end. but Awesome. um

Speaker: Spider -Man Beyond... beyond the spider verse took a long time to make um people are very excited for it so i understand why it leaked but the rec creators are pissed about it um basically it looks like it's It doesn't look like a great cut of the movie as far as the trailer is concerned.

Speaker: Um... christopher Christopher Miller went on Twitter and complained about it immediately. Not a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage. Understandably, he's pissed. He's a creator. um And they're trying to scrub it from the internet now. I don't know when this is supposed to leak. If I were to guess, probably New York Comic Con in October.

Speaker: Probably yeah. Probably, yeah. Maybe even later than that because the movie doesn't come out until next summer. but um Yeah, there's so been a lot of leaks as far as I don't know if studios are just pushing this stuff out. I know they go to to companies that actually cut these trailers and they're leaking from there because Marvel had the same problem with Avengers 2 where they were cutting these people that are cutting the trailers are the ones that leaked the footage. So yeah, I don't know what's going on with this. I don't know if an official cut of is ever going to come out of this.

Speaker: Or not, but... is It's basically just... There's really nothing you can... get from the movie from watching the trailer. I'm not going to really talk about the particulars. but I can't wait to see a final trailer.

Speaker: Same. First teaser, so we'll talk about that when it comes out.

Speaker: Box office last week for the second week, Spider -Man Brand New Day. had 145 million, Odyssey 31 .5 in its fourth week, and One Night Only, a movie I'm very excited to see, interested to see, about the purge meets dating, meets... ah non non uh marital sex um is was number three with 5 .7 so quite a big drop off from brand new day but i'm interested to see that uh brand new day had 145 domestically in a second weekend um scored the third biggest second weekend of all time right behind star wars force awakens and avengers end game so yeah it's ah right up there high echelon of movies so

Speaker: Love that movie. And I can't wait to for it to come out on digital. Um... I know you're not probably a big fan of the Dukes of Hazzard. But rest in peace to Cooter. Ben Jones.

Speaker: He died. He was the kind of mechanic of duke of Hazard County. um He fixed the cars. He worked and he was in all all of the reboots and everything. het He was in almost every episode of the Dukes of Hazard. and He did a lot of promotion. he he was he had like I believe he had the museum in Georgia with all the stuff from the show. I believe he ran that.

Speaker: But he died of a massive heart attack this week. um He was watching TV, going to watch ah football, and he just died in his recliner right then and there. But yeah, rest in peace to him. ah Let's get into the rest of the news. David Ellison.

Speaker: is office offering AMC Entertainment and Regal Cinemas a three -year contract um enforcing commitments that Paramount will release 30 films. in theaters a year.

Speaker: if it's allowed to merge with Warner Brothers. I don't think a studio now has 30 films in a theater, do they? Maybe Disney. I don't think Disney does either. yeah don't think I don't think any studio has that many films going into theaters. That's a lot, because how much money yeah these movies make, too. like How much money they cost, I mean, it's...

Speaker: That's more than... That's more than one every two weeks. That's crazy. um The other thing that's taking... taking Storm as far as Entertainment news this week is Roku.

Speaker: They're starting a 24 -7 channel on their on their platform that plays all AI slot videos, movies, full full movies. um And the channel's going to be run AI -generated ads as well between the movies from various different companies that are going to be doing it. so Um... Roku completely.

Speaker: completely going behind AI, which a lot of people are complaining about, especially people who are creators, for sure. Yes. So. um and We'll talk more about that. I'm sure later, but Lucy Davis, you don't know her name. She's a British actress. You saw the original UK office. She was the Pam character. I don't remember her name in the show, but she was the one that love interest in that season with Martin's Martin. Freeman.

Speaker: um She has cancer, terminal stage four cancer, and she went on the Internet and talked about it and said that she knows that she doesn't have much left time left in her life and she just wants the world to know, all her fans to know. So heartbreaking to see that. She was also in Shaun of the Dead. She's been in a few other things. You've probably seen her before in something. but um Yeah.

Speaker: I do love the year i love the office, but I do like the UK office too. but Um... Nancy Cartwright. She voices Bart Simpson. She's done it since 1988, something like that. um She thinks The Simpsons will end after season 40. That's just her personal opinion, but...

Speaker: For a show like that to last 40 years and have most of the same voice actors still being a part of it, Still getting paid quite a bit of money to do that. I don't think as many people are watching now as they did in the 90s, to be honest. But still going strong on on Fox. It's one of their biggest properties. And, of course, owned by Disney. So, yeah, crazy.

Speaker: Um... Disney Speaking of them, live action. Power Rangers reboot was supposed to happen on Disney, Disney +, and it has been cut.

Speaker: uh due to business and budgetary reasons it wasn't creative um

Speaker: Power Rangers died a long time ago. I think it died when the Green Ranger died in real life. Yep. Jason David Frank, but also died when that shitty movie came out. Then they tried to reboot it last decade ago. And that movie was horrible. It just shows the studios do not know what to do with this property. It was a great show growing up and even going back now and watching that first or second season. Not great. Not a great show at all. Not at all, but I loved it. We were fucking 10 years old. Yeah, I was obsessed with it. I still have action figures and pop figures with all of that shit.

Speaker: um Yeah. It kind of sucks to see. I'm sure you had the action figures that had, like, the mask off. Of course I did. And you, like, hit the belt thing and it would flip. Yeah, okay. Of course, of course I did. Those are dope. I had the 12 -inch figures. I had that. Yep. I had the Seiba Saba. sword I had the dragon sword I had everything I had it all oh Yes, that's not happening.

Speaker: I got brand new posters for Crystal Lake. This show comes out in October, October 15th on Peacock. I'm not sure if it's a weekly or if it's going to be all at once. But you see Pamela and you see the first look of Jason.

Speaker: that we're going to be seeing in this show. so There you go. Uh, where we got? Oh, the big other big. news going on in Hollywood right now is the standstill between Zassoff and All of the...

Speaker: Barbie. Actors. Um... He's refusing to pay them more money. He's like, you don't. You're not going to get more money. we're gonna you're You're gonna... you're going to get what I tell you. and They're like, well, wait a minute. We just had the biggest movie a couple years ago in the box office. What are you talking about?

Speaker: And Warner Brothers and him are... Kinda having a... pissing match right now. yes and za And the other thing that's happening with Zazoff is... A lot of people are pissed now that they've seen...

Speaker: Coyote versus Acme, which came out today. because the movie is like a 95 % on Rotten Tomatoes. And they're like, why would you shelf this movie? And everybody's saying that, and they're blaming it on Zazoff, and they're blaming this on Zazoff, too. They said that before it was shelved, that it was allegedly a really good movie. And then it got shelved.

Speaker: Testing through the roof is what they said. so Yeah, it came out today. I haven't seen it. But they have until December to decide on Barbie and to get this money thing situated. Or the film rights return back to Mattel.

Speaker: um And then they can shop it around to other studios. um zazoff is the cancer of warner brothers that they need to fixed before any of this shit happens with this merger. And it's been a problem for a while.

Speaker: Like, this merger may not even go through and he might make... $7 billion dollars off it if it doesn't go through. He literally cashed out June 1st, I think, and be like, you know what?

Speaker: We're canceling this and Paramount owes me $7 billion. dollars Yeah. um Some fuck. Yeah, we have I have no idea. um What's going to happen to the future of DC, the future of movies is kind of crazy right now.

Speaker: Yeah, Ryan Gosling is asking for $20 million upfront plus backend. Margot Robbie's made $50 million, and she's asking for more, a little bit of a pay jump for the sequel. Greta Gerwig also made tens of millions. She wants a pay increase, so the one that she directed, of course, the first one.

Speaker: And David Zassoff is the only one. And Warner Brothers saying that they're not worth it. um So yeah, I don't know. and They do have four months to figure it out, so we'll see. um Speaking of Warner Brothers, speaking of Coyote vs. Acme, a movie came out today, but there's the poster for it. A brand new poster set up kind of a... a Game of Thrones nod.

Speaker: So it looks awesome. ah the re A remake of Possession. I don't know if you ever saw Possession. It had Sam Neill in it. Um... Back in the 80s, you ever see that movie? Yeah, long time ago. They're remaking it with um Margot Qualley and Callum Turner.

Speaker: I only have a picture of them here. I know you probably know who Margot Qualley is, but Caleb Turner, he's got a bunch of stuff. Uh... She was in um Substance. she's a chicken substance yeah her She's married to Taylor Swift's Ghost Rider.

Speaker: Yep, yep. Yeah, I think they just broke up, too. Oh, yeah, they were dating, yeah. yeah ah and it's kindnna The original film followed a a pretty much a possessed somebody being possessed. and I know Sam Neill was a big part of it. um I think that was one of his first big movies. before Jurassic Park. It was in the mid -80s, I think. I'm not really sure when it came out.

Speaker: um And joining the cast of Charlie vs. The Chocolate Factory, this is an animated movie coming out on Netflix in 2027, is Nicola Coughlin. I don't know who that is, but we do know that Kate Winslet, Helena Bonham Carter, and Kit Conner, who's the frontrunner to be Cyclops. in the X -Men, and Taika Waititi is going to be a part of the voice cast as well. um So yeah, I'm not sure. I know it's animated. I think they have a... deal with the Roald Dahl estate to do animated shows for Netflix, so it's one of the first ones they're doing. That and a game show they're doing as well. um It's going to have a 47 -day window in theaters, and then after that it's going to show up on on ah Netflix on December 22nd, so on November 5th it comes out of next year. and then

Speaker: 47 days later on the 22nd, right before Christmas, it'll be in. on netflix people watch when they're at home with their families but Miami Vice 85. It's really happening. um And Eldon Albright has joined the cast with Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler, and he's going to be playing the villain. Alan Elreich was the Han Solo in the Solo movie for Star Wars. um He's been in a whole bunch of stuff. He was in Weapons last year. Great in that movie as well.

Speaker: So yeah. Great to see that. um Chris Carter, the creator of X -Files, says that the repo Ryan reboot has wrapped filming. um And he hopes that in the new re iteration that... um um that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are going to return.

Speaker: um So we'll have to wait and see on that. I know they've been in every iteration of it since the 90s, so even the movies. Um, and they're going to be starting season two of Harry Potter. And this news was surprising.

Speaker: that Nicholas Hoult has joined the cast. um and he just stopped he just finished filming he must have just film finished filming superman Right. um and he is joining the cast of Gilderoy Lockhart.

Speaker: who was played by Kenneth Branagh in the second movie, Chamber of Secrets. That's what the second season is going to be. First season hasn't even come out yet, but they're trying to keep up with the kids' ages um because they want to keep all the kids on like they did with the movies and do this year. And the fact that, ah what's -his -name's going to be fucking, like...

Speaker: 90 when the show ends or 80 something when the show ends let's go let's go yeah Yep, yep. Yeah, I have a feeling that um he only really needs to be there until the seventh season. Yep. They can film that last part if they need to. It depends on how old and frail he is at that point. right He's pretty spry right now. but yeah Yeah, so Nicholas Holt, part of the Harry Potter series. Still don't know who's going to be playing Voldemort, but we don't need to know that until the third book. or fourth book.

Speaker: So maybe they'll show him in the end of this season at the end of the first season because he does show up as... Kind of a... glob on the back of uh what's his name the professor there that has him as a as a uh conjoined twin on his head so i don't know if that'll happen it or not but um And surprising news. I'm surprised this is happening, but I shouldn't be because Disney... um owns both Star Wars and Marvel.

Speaker: But the other surprising part of it is number one, they're doing a comic series. Hope Assembles where they're bringing Star Wars and marvel together in a comic series nice That's surprising in itself. 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm. Star Wars. Okay.

Speaker: But the other surprising part is being written by Kevin Smith. which is pretty fast cool i saw that yep uh comes out on in january of next year so it may be something worth reading um limited series i think five issues four issues maybe um but there's the art for it right there i'll get a couple close -up shots of it too you see luke skywalker standing right next to captain america never thought you'd see that and uh doom standing next to vader so yeah interesting i don't know we'll keep an eye on that for sure

Speaker: um And Hogwarts Legacy 2. Get in some video game news of the week. Officially confirmed by Warner Brothers in a in a call. that it is in production. um The first game is pretty fun. Hogwarts Legacy 2. Not a continuation of the game set 100 years before the movie. So a continuation of that game. That'll be cool.

Speaker: And Wolverine coming out next month. And a brand new limited edition console. Covers and everything coming out with controllers. They did it with spider -man. So of course they're doing a Wolverine With a 1 in... black and yellow, like his suit. and one in silver and black like adamantium.

Speaker: And the cool thing about it is there's claws through it, and you actually can see through the claws, and you can see the fans of the PS5 spinning, which is pretty fucking cool. um You don't see that too often and in the transparent type of cases. Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker: Yep. uh but i already got ps5 so i don't give a shit about that but they look cool Mhm. Yep. um And following the Emma Frost casting of Samara Weaving we talked about last week, um she is rumored to be playing Hylia.

Speaker: in The Legend of Zelda. Um... And i know I know she's one of the gods or something of Zelda. It's been a while since i the Zelda lore in my mind. But yeah, we'll talk about that. when when we know more about the casting and everything speaking of zelda um Spy shots of what the 40th anniversary Switch 2 console may look like. um No official word from from Nintendo yet, but these were spotted in a production company somewhere.

Speaker: The Pro Controller and the... Switch to console. which I don't have a Switch 2. I would love one, and I would love this version. They're fucking awesome. I love the Switch, too. Yeah, I would love that. so We'll wait until that's officially announced.

Speaker: ah just I think the only popcorn bucket I have this week is this of Star Trek. um Coming out, I believe it's the 60th anniversary of Star Trek. They're going to be showing some of the movies and stuff in theaters. um They have a cup with all the Enterprises on there, and they have a popcorn bucket as well. So, yeah, there you go. Let's talk about some swag.

Speaker: Swag! Stuff we all get. What's up? You know what that's right. Not a huge fan of the Christmas story, but there's some Funko Pops coming out of the Christmas story there.

Speaker: D23 happening right now and they're having a D23 exclusive Walt Disney ah One -tenth figure coming out with him standing sitting on his desk and a whole bunch of stuff. of Disney, if you if you love Disney and the movies and everything, you grew up with him. You can kind of see Mickey, Goofy. um pluto in there you see pinocchio and a whole bunch of other things in a disney world map disneyland map in the background Kind of cool and neat if you're a fan of that stuff.

Speaker: um And McFarlane. Coming out with two figures for Superman Blue and Superman Red. Looked kind of cool. Wanted to mention those. um And we talked last week about Spider -Man, the Andrew Garfield movie, and how there was supposed to be a...

Speaker: third movie Um, and it got canned. And there was some art that came out of him falling through the sky. It looked like he was falling with debris. Another picture came out of him fighting Dr. Octopus. I'm not even really sure where it is. It looks like it's on the ceiling by the looks of it.

Speaker: But ah yeah, it looks kind of cool. um Yeah, I don't know much about where this is and why this why these are leaking now, but there you go. um Speaking of Marvel... Special presentations are rumored for Heroes of Hire, ah bringing in Luke Cage and Iron Fist into a limited... Special presentation, short movie.

Speaker: also a sequel to werewolf by night reportedly in the works and a strange academy which has been rumored for a while um but it's rumored to be a special presentation strange academy just to bring brand new recruits from magic um and dr strange i think wong is the one that runs the school so um haven't heard anything official about that these are just rumors but um let's preview d23 happening right now started today uh people are starting to go around the halls this Is it on Disney Plus?

Speaker: Not tonight's panel, unfortunately, so I'll be following on Twitter. Yeah, they don't do that because they release a lot of new trailers and stuff they don't want out in public. Oh, yeah, just like Comic -Con and shit. Just like Comic -Con, yeah. Although, I think we're going to be getting a new Doomsday trailer.

Speaker: We'll talk about that in a minute. um The 23 released a poster on the poster More speculation that the X -Men are going to be a huge part of tonight's reveal. It's storm right next to spider -man and the invisible girl visible woman. So Um... The posts are happening happening right now in Anaheim. But, um...

Speaker: Talk about what's on the floor. Go in there. The Marvel panel, the Marvel... installation You go right into, uh... the installation for Vision Quest, the next series coming out, probably one of the last series that Marvel's going to have on Disney+. plus um the se The end the of the WandaVision trilogy with Vision and Ultron and human form.

Speaker: that This is, of course, Vision's uniform and a picture with a picture. It looks like a picture frame. Above 8. table. You look at the picture frame closely and you see a big bunch of fire and somebody caught on fire in the middle of it.

Speaker: And there's speculation, and then rumors came out today that that is... the very first human torch. Um... Jim Hammond. We talked about it when we when we read Marvel's a couple years ago.

Speaker: But Jim Hammond was the very first Marvel character ever. um Had a cameo in Captain America, the first Avenger. They showed him in a tube there. as you If you're on YouTube, you see on the far right.

Speaker: um but yeah there's rumors that he's gonna be in this show jim hammond I don't know why, I don't know how, but we've already seen this suit in the MCU once before, so... He's a robot. So maybe he survived all this time So we'll have to wait and see.

Speaker: Um... And we got, oh, this showed up on that screen too. It it kept flinking flinching. ah We did see the very first look of Ultron and James Spader in human form.

Speaker: that showed up on there as well. And it showed also showed um Vision and... And, uh... Paul Bettany as well. But also, going on YouTube, they've had this countdown for Doomsday going on since the first trailers were revealed the earlier earlier in the year.

Speaker: And today the countdown started. started flinching started showing shadows and stuff going on in the background that hadn't happened before. Um and doom comes popping up out of the trailer on youtube and they reveal the full new poster for Doomsday.

Speaker: um And it looks awesome. It's right up there with the other one that came out. um Comic -Con. I love this one, I think, more than that one. And i like I like the one with him standing in front of the mural. I think that that one's the best one so far. This is definitely number two of just doom right in front of the wall there. It looks awesome. And rumor at number one, tickets went on sale. All of the tickets went on sale today.

Speaker: Bad timing for me, so I don't know when we're going to see it. I don't have any money to buy them, but... They did show this leak today, a standing of him sitting on the throne.

Speaker: And this is going to be in theaters when the movie comes out. I thought that was kind of cool. Also, on the floor... Which I'm surprised. i'm I'm wondering what this movie is all about.

Speaker: Because there's another Dr. Doom. A brand new Doctor Doom with a brand new costume and a brand new mask! So is this a variant? Is this an earlier version of Doom before he gets all the power?

Speaker: I don't know. But um, yeah, it's very very interesting how many cautions so far. We've already got two are two different versions of dr june's mask and costume so it's interesting Also, we got brand new costume looks of Nightcrawler and Mystique.

Speaker: Rumored to be part of the second trailer releasing tonight. We also got looks of Bob The Red Guardian, Black Panther, and Captain America, Sam Wilson and their costumes are on his display right now.

Speaker: Also in this installation you see a a uh, a blueprint of the x mansion xavier's school for gifted youngsters see the first floor on the second floor Looks kind of cool.

Speaker: um And the other rumor that's happening online right now, these weren't on the floor yet, but I did want to bring them up before we get into the rest of the news and the end of the show. but The witches. There's a leak of all the the doomsday witches that has happened.

Speaker: um But the one in particular we haven't seen yet is The Man. The guy with the... almost like doom mask but he's got this center point right in the middle of his head Looks like a bullseye. And people are speculating that that's...

Speaker: Doctor Strange because at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, he gains the third eye right in that spot. So, and in the comic books, during the incursions... During Secret Wars, Doctor Strange is the sheriff. to Dr. Doom.

Speaker: and um And people are speculating that all of these characters and these witches' uniforms are characters from... the Marvel Universe of the past. um The green one, could be so they're saying, could be the loki the female Loki from the Loki show.

Speaker: Brown, one anybody that had magical powers. Clea, who was... with Doctor Strange at the end of the multiverse could be the one in purple. And Doctor Strange could be the one in in Brown. So who knows? Who knows all all about that? But these aren't on the floor yet.

Speaker: I'm not sure if they're going to show up in the trailer or not. I'm not sure if it's a big reveal or what these are, but they did leak last week. I did want to mention those. Um... And... That's it for Doomsday. We'll talk more about that. But the the big thing tonight, I think.

Speaker: Um... will be the reveal of the X -Men. Right. Casting hasn't stopped since... Beginning of July, these these people going in for casting, trying to finalize deals. Ace of German.

Speaker: Who was in The Boys. No, in Gen V. Rumored to have tested for Cyclops did not get the role. Kit Conner obviously did. Rumor to be, rumor to have.

Speaker: um Charles Milton. who is rumored to be Beast. I'm not sure what he was in, but he... reportedly passed the role. So he's probably not gonna be beast may have maybe that maybe that changed or maybe this is just a pivot to try to swerve the fans, and we'll see tonight. but um We'll have to wait and see what happens. um And the front runner to play Storm.

Speaker: Talked about it before, Cynthia Erivo would be nice, but I think they're going younger. um And I did not realize she was only 28 years old, but Jamie Lawson. She was in the Batman. she played the She played the mayor, right? She was a mayor at the end of that. That's insane. So she was like 23.

Speaker: Yeah. Two? where your Yeah, she was young. yeah movie be yeah And she looked that she definitely doesn't look it in that movie. like I'm not saying like she looks old, but for... The way they made her up in that movie, she looked like she was in her mid -thirties. at earliest, you know.

Speaker: What was the other big thing that she was in recently that I'm forgetting off of this? There's another big project. I'm not sure. and I don't remember what it was. But yeah, and the other rumors are for Professor x Xavier, Christopher Abbott and Tom Pelfrey have both auditioned to play Professor X. I know Tom Pelfrey is married to Kaley Cuoco.

Speaker: I believe. He is... My choice, because I will watch him in anything. He was the best part of Iron Fist. He's fucking amazing in dancing. right The way he plays a neo -Nazi that's reformed.

Speaker: um And he literally like tries to give his life for like an African -American woman. It's a great scene. Yeah, he's he's... I love him. Um... I've never seen him. Even when he's in bad projects.

Speaker: He's just turned out in it. Yeah. So I would love him to be. And the other. And the other news is... being part of the X -Men cast possibly. Is Daphne Keene as X -23. I feel like that's a given at this point. Yeah, I could see that happening too. I'm trying to look up maggie law Jamie ja Lawson.

Speaker: What movie she was in recently? Oh sinners. That was a big one Oh, yeah, she was in Sinners. She had a huge part in Sinners, yeah. She did, yeah. You're right. um The other thing that's going to be shown, this there's going to be a lot of trailers tonight. There's a two -hour... Disney panel that's going to tackle.

Speaker: Not only Star... Not only... Marvel. But everything, Simpsons and Star Wars. We may be getting a new Star Wars trilogy or movie information tonight. yeah without caffeine Without Kathleen It may actually happen.

Speaker: The thing about Star Wars now is it's everything that's a announced, I just take it like the movie, the the Flash movie, um where until I'm sitting in the theater watching it... I'm not going to believe it's happening, especially with Dave Filoni in charge.

Speaker: I don't even know if he's the right guy, because, like, apparently, like, everyone's saying Starfighter's is gonna be awesome. and He was very anti -Starfighter. He was very anti -Andor, and that's the best thing they've produced, I would say, since Disney took over.

Speaker: Um... So, I mean, yeah, I get it. Like he quote unquote does George's vision, I suppose. But... At the end of the day, like that's the one thing that like I don't really...

Speaker: like i love star wars theory you know that and i buy his lightsabers and but at the end of the day like that's like the one thing where it's like I feel like we need somebody that's not going to just conform to whatever George would want to do. And some of that will branch out a little bit.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah. And maybe, you know... I don't know We'll have a big Star Wars talk in May, I'm sure. oh yeah Check back in six months. Yeah, it's whatever it is. Brand new look at the new title for the Simpsons second movie, simpsons the new Simpsons movie coming out September 3rd, a year from now.

Speaker: um Also, some speaking of Star Wars, brand new looks of Ahsoka. Ahsoka trailer is coming out tonight as well. um some promo art of that um and some costumes we see a new uh A new Anakin Skywalker costume on the far left there with a lightsaber. It looks like on Hoth or some ice player of some sort. Ahsoka in the middle there and Sabin Wren on the far right.

Speaker: Um... That's it for D23. We'll talk all about that next week. I'm very excited to be watching that tonight. I may take a nap because I'll be up until midnight watching that. so Um...

Speaker: Talk about some DC news before we end the show this week. um This came out, not sure where it came out from. um but rumors say that season two of the penguin is in limbo Was that officially announced?

Speaker: I don't think they ever intended for it to have a season two. I think it was just a bridge. to get to the batman part two established the penguin as a mobster in the city Like, I don't think it was ever. It's like when people complain about the Watchmen not getting a season two. It was never meant to have a season two. Right. Ever.

Speaker: And who the fuck is the ankler? Because they're the only people that reported this. Everyone else is rammed for it. Um... Yeah, it was, yeah. I kept seeing it too. And of course, people were blaming James Gunn for it, but I'm like...

Speaker: Yeah, whatever. um I never expected a season two. I think that just because it was so good, which I expected it to be because of how much I love the Batman. I know you indifferent on that movie, but it is my favorite Batman movie of all time. Um...

Speaker: i just never expected like i expected it to be really good and i never expected a season two at the same time You know when every time you say that, I go back and watch the Batman, trying to figure out what's wrong with me? do you know i do that i think well a lot of your complaints um not to get too sidetracked here, but all your complaints were stuff I expected from the movie?

Speaker: so i think it hit you a lot differently than me like i expect it to be slower like the way the movie was described by matt reeves and he delivered on everything he told me to he was getting news so i think that's one reason why i wasn't like like I wasn't expecting it to be this huge action piece. um i don't know i just love that movie um to death and the 4k is one of the best looking 4ks i own I love it Hmm.

Speaker: Um... You mentioned it that this ankler also revealed that supposedly the HBO rejected pitches for the Catwoman series starring... Um... Right. Zoe Kravitz also rejected a pitch for Poison Ivy series set in James Gunn's DCU.

Speaker: Right. Um, but know the Catwoman thing... i remember that just being a rumor after it was so big so to me it was just a rumor that picked up steam that Just...

Speaker: Some of you probably asked about it and they said they have no plans to do it. Um... No idea about the Poison Ivy stuff, because... Now they're saying ScarJo might be a version of Poison Ivy in the Batman Part 2?

Speaker: Right. um So... I don't know if that would have actually been in James Gunn's DCU or not. But the thing is, like HBO is also doing this to not just DC properties, but there's a bunch of other stuff.

Speaker: Um, that was announced today and yesterday that, um, they're not moving forward with yeah some stuff has shot pilots and whatnot. Um, I think HBO is cutting back a lot right now, especially because of the current SALE?

Speaker: Well, the merch didn't have to wait. yeah And they can't they can't really go into production or anything. Because what if Paramount... gets it the deal closes and paramount's like now that they just wasted all that money so I think that's part of it. I don't know.

Speaker: that's talk while we're on my part That's probably why we're waiting for a Season 2 announcement for It Welcome to Derry. Um... That's a hard one. Really high for that show, and I'm hoping that nothing fucks it up because it set up a great continuation of it. but Yes. um the others the other The other thing reported from thisankler .com was that Waller and Paradise Lost are reportedly no longer in development in HBO.

Speaker: No official word on done on that rumor, but yeah. and Development at HBO doesn't mean it's not in development. Right. it could be like peacemaker where it's just a max only show or prop yeah um Because as we know, HBO only...

Speaker: I think one of the guys came out this week and talked about it, like they only... go for the highest quality content. as far as that stuff goes, and they're very picky and choosy. Um, as far as what they go with, um,

Speaker: So I think that's part of it. Um, so I could see that stuff still being in development from DC maybe going to Max and being a Max Joy Peacemaker was. Right.

Speaker: Um... And finally in news, a big... Big premiere this weekend. um Nathan Fillion. reportedly going to return as Guy Gardner in the Mr. Miracle animated series. And you got still got to read that book, right? The Mr. Miracle? I think we'll do that closer, maybe we'll do it at the end of Lanterns, the end of the year, yeah maybe October and when you're done with work.

Speaker: We'll dive into that. I mean, I've i've read it. right yeah i'm sorry yeah um you can borrow my copy if you want and we can talk about it but yeah But the premiere the big premiere this week that Guy Gardner is going to be showing up in is Lanterns. We got some new posters for that.

Speaker: We are going to talk all about that next week. Very excited for Sunday, the premiere. Uh... Getting high praise from all the critics and all the fans of this shit, so cannot wait. D23, we'll talk all about that. Probably going to lead the show with that if we get some big reveals. um Tire Season 3 came out yesterday. That's my project this weekend is to watch all 12 episodes of that. They're on the Plex if you want to watch those.

Speaker: Um, short saves the universe episode five. Talk about that a little bit. Dark Side of the Ring, Episode 8. Only two more episodes left. Next week's episode is The Walking Riot, Missy Hyatt. I have only heard of Missy Hyatt. I don't know anything about her. Trained by Jake Roberts.

Speaker: Okay, so we'll we'll talk all about that episode. So he's he's probably on the episode if that's true. I'm pretty sure he trained. Oh, possibly. Yeah, possibly. And we'll talk about Reacher on Episode 4 and Reacher when you caught and when you're caught up. I love that show. I'm not sure what's coming out for movies next week. I know i know there's some big ones on the horizon here. but yeah Thank you, everybody. and I cannot wait to to watch D23 tonight and see what's hard listen to it. go

Speaker: It's funny because i put like I put these YouTube videos on that are... doing the same thing I'm doing. They're on Twitter, they're looking at all the news, but sometimes they get breaking news because they may have somebody in the audience talking about it faster than I can catch it on the feeds, on my Twitter feed. So... I do watch those as I'm going through Twitter at the same time, so I enjoy that. I like doing it during during Comic -Con, during the secret panels, too. so Anyway. Thank you, everybody. We will talk to you next week.
